h e i g h t x // x160cm

w e i g h t x // x52kg

h a i r x // xbleached blonde

e y e s x // xsometimes green, sometimes brown

o d d i t i e s x // xEve has a scar across her left forearm, not too deep, but clearly untreated and left to heal how it liked. She also has a tattoo of a tree, a matching symbol with her bother. And a dragonfly tattoo on her inner forearm.

a p p e a r a n c e x // x
At first glance, Eve is the type of girl that needs protection, and to be wrapped up in cotton wool. With a pretty, docile face, and bird bones that look like they could be snapped with minimal effort. She is small, and definitely not a person who has spent much time doing manual labor.

However it doesn't take one long to realise that Eve needs no protection. With the confident way she stalks from shadow to shadow, and with a smirk that is always threatening to break out across her face. Eve may not be be physically threatening, but that doesn't mean she lets her presence go unnoticed.

Eve tends to prefer no makeup and baggy t-shirts, but she knows how to dress the part. With the right makeup, and dressed up right, she can look like an angelic girl-next-door, or like a sultry vixen All depending on the lie she wants to live that day.

influence thoughts/actions x // x Eve can influence the thoughts and actions of others. However, a strong will can resist her, as it more like implanting suggestions. So its much harder for her to make someone do something completely against their nature. While not necessary, she finds that the magic binds stronger with physical contact, and saying the words out loud.

shadow movement x // x Eve can teleport from shadow to shadow, which means that she feels very at home in the shadows and is always happy to lurk and spy, unseen in the shadows.

produce poison x // x Eve can produce poison. She can make her spit acidic, not enough to do any real damage, but it'll leave a nasty sting. It's her blood that can cause real damage, if utilised properly.

show destiny x // x With a touch Eve can show people their destiny. However she learnt over the years, how to fragment and distort the destinies, how to splice together different potential destinies to manipulate what people see.

lying x // x They say practice makes perfect, and Eve's had twenty years of practice. If she wanted she could spin the most outrageous tale and have you believe every word.

reading people x // x Eve is good at picking up people are giving off. She knows what lying looks like, and can spot a hesitation or hidden desire a mile off.

clever x // x She may make dumb choices, but usually it's her vanity in the driving seat, not her brain. It's obvious she's got brains by how she uses people, able to draw conclusions about people and discovering all their hidden vices.

I N F I R M I T A T E
xxxxxxxxxxxxx w e a k n e s s xx \ ˈ w ē k - n ə s \ x

physicality x // x Eve is small, without muscles, and has zero interest in fighting anyone physically. She prefers psychological warfare.

teamwork x // x It could be the lying, or the manipulating, either way, every team Eve has been on has ended in disaster, usually at her hands. Collaboration isn't something she'd keen to try.

kindness x // x Eve doesn't know how to be kind, or at least being kind isn't her first instinct. But she's even more uncomfortable receiving kindness, she'd rather receive punches and death threats.

M E T U M
xxxxxxxxxxxxx f e a r xx \ ˈ f i r \ x

losing Pete x // x The only person left in the world that gives a shit about Eve is her brother, Pete. She can't eve fathom what losing him would be like.

fire x // x Ever since a fire burnt down the shed of her childhood home, Eve has been terrified of it.

being alone x // x Despite all her posturing, Eve needs people, even if she treats them all terribly. She deserves to end up all alone, but that doesn't mean she wants to.

P E R S O N A L I T A T E
xxxxxxxxxxxxx liar xx manipulative xx bored xx vain x

First and foremost, Eve is born and bred liar. She is not the type who should trusted at any cost, whether disclosing a major secret or just giving simple directions. To her the truth is boring and straightforward, and all she wants to do is keep things fun and interesting. Though she might just tell the truth every once in a while to keep you on your toes. She can play a role like no other, and have you believing she's a good church going girl if she wanted.

Eve is a manipulator. She lurks in shadows, learning secrets, learning what makes people tick. This has made her good at reading people, and more importantly, knowing what buttons to push. This combined with her ability to implant thoughts and feelings, make her able to nudge most people in whatever direction she desires. Now you'd think with a personality like hers, and the skills that she have that she'd always be part of some long con with sinister intentions. But the truth is Eve is mostly just bored. She doesn't have many hobbies, and scheduled time with friends seems like something out of a horror story for her.

So Eve makes her own fun, she'll spill your secrets, or steal your boyfriend just because it seemed fun at the time. She loves playing pretend, and wrapping people around her finger, though she tends to to only think one step ahead. Never working towards some bigger malicious purpose. Which is why her mother Hera, has always been disappointed in her. She plays party games when she could be gaming the world.

She thinks that she has life, and everyone figured out. Which means that she stalks around like she's untouchable, and refuses to believe that anyone could ever beat her at her games. Her sly smirks, and cruel behavior are proof of her self-confidence. She doesn't ever think to plan for a plan B, because in her mind she is smarter and more clever than everyone else. Though this vanity leads her to be a very closed-off individual, she refuses to ever appear hurt or lacking in any way. So when she is upset, she will lick her wounds in private, where no one can see.

H I S T O R I A R U M

Surprise, surprise, Hera is not the maternal type. Well, at least not to her half-mortal bastard children. She found herself pregnant after luring a married man into her bed, a move made out of spite after hearing about another of Zeus' lovers. She found the whole pregnancy a drag, and never really wanted much to do with mothering mortals. The twins were sent to live with their father, a man who was already married with five kids. Needless to say, neither him nor his wife were a big fan of his adulterous children. So they grew up safe, but never really loved.

Which was fine by Eve and Pete as the neglect meant that they had all the time in the world to get up to mischief. From the moment they could walk, the two of them were attached at the hip, never going anywhere without the other. It was like they had their own private language, able to communicate paragraphs of information in just a look, or a word.

Hera would stop in, every couple of years to see how her progeny was doing. Though she was never impressed, she gives mortals the power of a god, and all they do is steal boyfriends and start high school level drama.

When Eve was sixteen a fire burnt down the family home, luckily no one was hurt. But the destruction prompted a move to Scotland, a move that Pete and Eve were not a part of. Leaving them one their own in London to fend for themselves. And fend for themselves they did, they lied, cheated, manipulated and stole their way through life.

Though Eve has a tendency to take things too far, and over the years things have gone bad one or twice. It was nothing Pete couldn't fix with his possession powers, but they events have left their mark. Eve can feel the distance growing in their relationship. He's also been a bit of grump, but now he's completely distant, and rather than enjoying her theatrics like he once did, he treats her like a ticking time bomb, always wary about her next dumb idea.

Son of Zeus || Hex: Green Outfit: XXX

Image “I understand your love and loyalty for your sister, but how does she know it was cursed and the source? The beauty of curses is that the object is personified to punish and torment, and the origin, a ghost. If you want my help, I need the truth. Is there a chance, a minute chance, that Alex would do any of it of her own accord?”

She sounded like she was placing the blame on Alex, and accusing him of being a liar. He didn't look at all impressed. Though to be fair, Evelyn didn't know them well enough. Still, it was wrong to think that what Alex did, was how she was naturally. "No. I know her, and this isn't like her at all. She was kind, playful, caring. She said she suffered memory loss and everything that happened that night with our mother, and with Jennova, came back in small fragments of flashbacks."

"If you're so sure this is cursed by who you say, use it as evidence."

"I intend to." He took the item back and stuffed it into his pocket.

“The Gods should be able to identify one of their own, I can only confirm it is cursed.”

"And is it cursed?" he wanted to ask, but she had nodded and left the hall. He could have gone after her, but that would just be wasting time. She was right, though, the Gods would be his better option with this.

At least he had something... that was better than nothing.

Ajax left the hall, ignoring his father with Iliana as he headed back to his cabin to get ready. It didn't take him long to pick out an outfit that he deemed worthy for the day. Casual, but smart still. Without wasting any more time, he made sure he got the so-called cursed item from his other jacket pocket and placed it into the one he now had on, and quickly made his way down to the beach. There were so many there already, and by the looks of things, they were going to be making their way by horse.

Seeing as there weren't that many for all the campers, Ajax chose to fly beside them with Ares and Athena until they reached the great kingdom in the sky. It was much bigger than he had imagined.

Image Perfectly sculptured statues representing each God lined up alongside each other as they headed down the golden path between them. Their eyes seemed to follow the Son of Zeus, making them seem much more life-like. Of course, it was just trickery of the mind.

The path leads them to the large acropolis hall with the arena beneath their feet.

At the front of the hall were empty seats where the gods would normally sit, and a golden throne reserved for his father only. Magic oozed from it in the form of small golden specks that floated slowly away from the throne, before vanishing like a fires ember.

They were to wait until the gods could join them, to give them directions to where they were needed.

Image As the others stood in that very hall, Ajax wandered over to the balcony that over-looked the arena beneath them. Placing his hands down on the stone wall before him, he looked down. There was a strange pool of water in the center of that room, which glowed an ominous cyan color. If he wasn't mistaken, he could have sworn that whispers were coming from inside of that thing.

He frowned as he stared at it for a few seconds, then turned his attention to the large wall fountain that gathered into a large marble shaped bowl. Imagine this in marble

Wes followed after Liv. His pace was slow and she quickly got a fair distance ahead of him, but in the end it meant he didn't have to wait as long for her to finish getting ready in her cabin. Not that he minded. For the first time, Wes wasn't overly excited to join the rest of the campers. Even though Olympus would be a glorious sight, at the current moment, he didn't care.

When Liv exited her cabin, Wes nodded his head giving her his best smile. "You look nice," was all he said. There was no point acting like a scolded puppy. He started following after her, trying his best to put his own troubled thoughts to the back of his mind. It wasn't working, but he still tried to repress them as much as possible. He arrived at the beach with Liv and he could already feel Trinity's gaze drilling holes into the back of his head. Instead of humoring it, or addressing it, he just stood there with his back to her, fighting every urge to look over his shoulder.

"Oh, I am glad to be back!" Wes looked over at Liv, curiously. It didn't seem like she was talking to him. He briefly saw her kick the sand, covering something up quickly.

"I don't think anyone would judge you for talking to animals... Isn't that what Poseidon kids do? Talk to sea creatures or whatever?" He quirked a brow toward her. "I talk to animals all the time... But they don't know what I'm saying." He actually managed a weak chuckle. Wes probably did look like an idiot talking to animals like they actually understood him.

Wes felt the presence of someone behind him, just before he felt their hand on his collar. "Sorry, you're shirt tag is hanging out, and I just hate that." He instantly tensed, glancing over his shoulder slightly toward the culprit, seeing the blonde from earlier. Something in his gut knotted in her presence, like a sign that something was wrong, although he couldn't put his finger on it. While her fingers brushed his neck, something like cold tingles crawled its way up his spin from her touch. Then, it halted at the base of his skull, almost like maybe his own control over emotions acted as a firewall. He could feel what she wanted him to do, like a suggestion in the back of his mind.. That brunette next to you is gorgeous.

He quickly pivoted on his heels, reaching out to take a hold of the girl's wrist. Wes looked down at her with furrowed brows and a skeptical expression. They stood there in silence for a long moment as he studied the blonde. "I don't know what kind of game you're trying to play, but leave me and Trinity out of it." He spoke sternly with more authority in his voice than he was used to. Wes released her wrist and let her walk away. Then raised his hand to the back of his neck, rubbing it to try to get the tingling sensation to leave.

"Damn it," Wes cursed under his breath at the revelation of few horses and the fact that they'd all have to double up. Who in the hell could he even ride with? Alex was already joining Duke. Andy might have been an option, probably the only female Trinity wouldn't have chewed his head off for riding with. Instead of causing problems, Wes simply walked over to the nearest unaccompanied Pegasus. "How am I supposed to do this?" He said more to himself. It took him some amount of effort to wrangle himself onto its back. It involved a little jump so his body was draped over it. Then using the horse's mane to steady himself, he slowly spun around and sat up. Smooth.

He patiently waited until someone wished to join him. At this point, the best he could do is just focus on himself and deal with whatever came his way. Wes didn't know who would actually want to ride with him, a one armed man isn't much support on a flying animal. But he had faith the Gods wouldn't let him fall to his death, hopefully.

* * *

Wes slipped off the Pegasus about as poised as he manage to climb on top of it. He gave the animal a good couple pets, wishing he could conjure up an apple or something, but he had no such powers. He followed the group toward the Acropolis, not really paying much attention to the splendor around them, barely even focusing on where he walked.

Luckily he paid enough attention to see Alex step before him to get his attention. "Wes..." He raised his head, coming out of his daze to look toward her. Wes could already feel the worry that weighed on his face, making him look tired with dark circles under his eyes. "Can I... have a word with you for a moment, please?"

"Oh yeah... Sure," he answered, making his way over toward her.

Sylas waited on the beach patiently, letting his hands slip into his pockets as he leaned against a near by tree. He was content to wait for his sister to show up. After all, they hadn't finished their conversation from earlier. But he quickly became distracted by the events that began to unfold. He couldn't help but be curious about this Evangeline that Evelyn wished for him to tame. No doubt a woman after his own heart, and just watching her work from a bystanders point of view was an interesting site. He observed as she moved from Wes to Andy with a breeze, changing acts like someone would change clothes. Fascinating.

At the discovery of insufficient horses to escort them all to Olympus, Sylas perked up. So many prospects before him. The easy option would be to wait for his sister. There was no way she could evade him then, when they were hundreds of feet up in the air. But that did not sate his interest. He took a deep breath and scanned the campers who had yet to climb up onto one of the winged beasts. He could swoop in and take Andy before Mason got the chance, but she'd rather break his arm then share a pegasus. Plus, there was no sense in making an enemy out of Hughson. Not yet anyway.

He could go with one of the more obvious choices, like this... Evangeline. Pick her mind, see if she tries to wrap him around her finger like she has been with everyone. There also was an unfamiliar brunette near the one armed sap on the other end of the beach. And, of course, the trio the never separates. He almost felt like none of them were worth the effort, not at the moment.

Sylas had nearly made his choice when he heard a voice call out, "Evelyn!" He didn't pay attention to the boy who called for her, instead focusing his attention on the redhead who was dressed to kill. He couldn't help but smirk to himself as he pushed off the tree and slowly made his way toward the group that surrounded the fiery headed phoenix.

"Do you mind if we...?" The boy, Keith was it, asked the brunette stranger, and something else ridiculous about caffeinated drinks. How rude to beckon Evelyn to their little gathering only to not offer her a ride. But, it was lucky enough for Sylas.

He slowly approached with a friendly smile and a nod to Keith, while his left hand gently rested upon Evelyn's back as to not surprise her of his presence. "I'll make sure Miss Masters arrives to the Golden City in one piece." Sylas didn't ask for permission, not from Evelyn and Keith's approval was not wanted nor required. He looked back to the redhead, motioning his free hand toward the collection of horses.

Sylas walked alongside his escort toward an unencumbered Pegasus. He hadn't thought about her wearing a pencil skirt being an issue until that moment, or maybe he subconsciously did. Either way, he was still a gentleman. "Here, let me," he offered, this time his expression showing he wouldn't aid her if she didn't want it. But considering there was no boarding station to assist, it'd be easier than her trying on her own. Sylas then gently scooped her up into his arms and placed her upon the back of the horse.

Once she was on, Sylas carefully mounted the Pegasus in front of her, being sure not to off balance her. He glanced over his shoulder toward Evelyn to make sure she was settled before their ride took off up into the sky. He could have spoken mid flight, continued their conversation from earlier. But silence was just as powerful as a conversation, especially with such an adept opponent. This also gave Sylas the ability to focus on remaining on the horse... Gods he hated this. He was thankful when the hoofs found their place on the solid ground of Olympus. He was thankful he wasn't a descendant of Zeus in that moment. He wanted to be nothing like the Valises, and his desire to not fly was just a cherry on the screw Zeus cake.

Sylas ran a hand back through his hair, trying to smooth back into some form of order before he slid off the horse's back. On his own two feet, he adjusted his shirt before turning to face Evelyn, offering her his hand. "Would you like my help down?" Getting down was far simpler than getting up in a tight skirt, he'd imagine. And if her pride refused herself to need the aid to get down, then he'd politely step aside. But if she needed the help, well he was there and willing.

"What the hell, And- " She was, no doubt, about to get an earful from Mason when a whistle behind them cut him off. Andy quickly snapped the clutch shut, turning around to see whomever so rudely joined them.

“Wow, you really are a girl of many talents.” Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Mason reach to take her waist but the blonde was faster, locking her arm with Andy's. “And you’re just as beautiful as I thought you’d be!”

Andy just, stood there frozen like a deer in headlights, her face slightly scrunched in confusion. "Uh...thanks?" What in the hell is going on? She had half of a mind to pull her arm free from the stranger's grasp, but she had never really be thrust into such a situation. People she didn't know never just came up to her and grabbed a hold of her arm... It was perplexing.

"We're talking here," Mason brought words to only some of things that ran through Andy's mind. She looked over at him briefly, long enough to make eye contact and quirk a confused brow before looking back to the blonde.

“Sorry, sorry. I'm Evangeline. Mason has just told me soooo much about you, that I feel like we’re already friends.” Andy's gaze snapped over to Mason once again, her brows furrowing slightly. She parted her lips to add a sarcastic quip, no doubt. But Eve spoke up first. “Right babe?”

Andy coughed, taken by surprise at the concluding comment. Her eyes were wide as she looked between them skeptically. She stood their silent, with a queasy feeling in her gut. She swallowed hard, watching as the siren winked at Mason and even placed her hand upon his chest. Andy had to fight ever urge to yank the tart away and knock her in the sand... Maybe throw her in the ocean. She could have improvised. But instead she remained silent and tried to keep her best game face on.

"Sure, princess," Mason replied as he took a step back so the blonde was out of reach and crossed his arms over his chest.

“And doesn’t he just look hot in the suit? You agree don’t you? Say it,” Eve whispered to her like stupid school girls blatantly flirting with some dumb jock, speaking loud enough for Mason could hear it.

Why did this sound like it was straight out of Mean Girls. Tell him he looks sexy with his hair pushed back. Andy had to fight the impulse to physically gag at all the school girl, passive aggressive bullshit. The worst part was she felt a strong urge to answer the question, like something in her head was screaming at her to say it, say he was hot and like it'd antagonize her until she did.

"Andy, you don't have to," Mason said softly to her. "I appreciate you thinking I'm hot but you don't have to get all the girls to confess it. Don't want you getting too jealous now."

Andy nearly snorted at his final comment. Gods this was torture. The thought continued to wiggle around inside her like a snake trying to break free. Andy just wanted to be like Of course, what's your point? But that wasn't enough. Whatever it was, wanted to pull it out of her. Usually she could keep her thoughts and words in check, but it seemed whatever flood gate she had was taken down and filled with the strong urge to share the truth.

"I don't like the word 'hot'. Only vain or shallow people use that to describe someone," Andy said with a sharpness in her voice as she side eyed Eve. Nope, that wasn't enough. She had to say it. "Yes. I've always found him very attractive." Then, like a snap the feeling was gone. Andy stood their, slightly wide eyed that she just admitted that, face flushed. Well, there was no sweeping that under the rug now.

Before Andy could rip her arm free, probably more aggressively than what would have been necessary, Mason pulled the two of them apart. Thank the Gods. But in that moment, she wasn't all that thrilled for him to be touching her either. "So do you mind if I hitch a ride with Andy or would you rather go with me?" Her jaw nearly dropped, ready to make the most annoyed and dumbfounded expression, but she kept herself composed as best she could. "If that's alright with you?"

"Who the hell are you asking?" Well that just slipped out. Andy quickly plastered on a fake smile as she took Mason's arm and stepped backwards toward the horses. "I'm sure Princess here is fine with sharing. Obviously, she's above being jealous if she wants every girl to admit how hot you are."

Andy had nothing else to say, she spun around and headed toward the horses with Mason in tow. Gods... was she jealous? Was this how Mason felt whenever he saw her with Ajax. The thought instantly made her feel horrible. She had zero right to be jealous, but she couldn't fight the thoughts that rattled in her head... Those and worse. Thank the Gods none of those slipped out. Andy should let him go back and ride with Eve. But her foot was in her mouth now and this was one moment where she refused to swallow her pride, not for that girl.

Andy groaned, kicking at the sand when they reached the horses. Worst day to wear a dress. Well, it looked like some of her pride had to be swallowed if she liked it or not. She reluctantly turn to Mason, looking at the ground and sighing before meeting his gaze. "Can you help me up... Please?" Once she was seat upon its back, she slid her shoes back on and waited for Mason to join her. She hesitantly slid her arms around his waist, using him as an anchor to keep her on the flying creature, with no choice but to sit side saddle.

While in flight, her mind raced through whatever the hell it was that just transpired. "Babe?" she whispered under her breath trying to come to some sort of conclusion. "Babe!?" This time Andy said it louder, the question directed at Mason. Gods she was confused.

"Pete." Well he was about as talkative as Sloane was. She tried to remain as polite as possible as he made quick work of the hand shake. And his smile was more pathetic than her own. You'd think she'd be relieved to have run into someone who seemed similar to herself. But in reality it just made for awkward silence. “You’ve ruined your dress.”

Sloane's brows furrowed in confusion. Well, that was an interesting conversation starter... If it could be called that. She glanced down at her clothing then back up at him. "It's water... It will dry." Did men really know so little about clothes? Regardless if Pete did or did not, it seemed to be his poor exit clause into what could barely be considered a conversation.

“Later then.” He turned in his direction and Sloane in hers with an awkward head nod. She didn't look back or give the awkward encounter a second thought as she continued on her path toward her cabin to change. But, then all of a sudden as if out of no where his voice was beside her. “That guy from in there.”

Sloane stopped dead in her tracks for a brief moment, double taking, confusion evident on her face. Not only by his question but by the fact that he was all of a sudden at her side. His gesture directed her gaze at the main hall. Pete continued to walk in stride with her, following her to her cabin. Apparently he didn't care about the destination, but was more focused on getting his answers. “Is he a friend of yours? What’s his deal? Tell me.”

She could feel his magic, tickling along the surface of her skin like electricity. It felt a lot like when her brother tried to manipulate her, to no avail. For some reason it never seemed to work on each other, maybe it was because they both had the ability to persuade others... No different to this Pete. Sloane headed up the steps to her cabin, stopping when she reached the top. She glanced over her shoulder at him. "Please can get better results than demands or magic," Sloane said in a matter of fact way.

Without another word, she disappeared into her cabin to quickly change her clothes. It didn't take her long, only a couple minutes and when Sloane stepped back outside, Pete was still there. She sighed softly before descending the stairs and heading in the direction of the beach. Assuming he was still walking alongside her, Sloane glanced over at him briefly. "Sylas?... He's my brother," she finally answered the first part of his questioning. "And his... deal? I don't know what you mean."

Playing coy never worked well for Sloane, but she couldn't very well divulge that her brother was a sociopath who got his kicks by watching the world burn. Plus, if she said anything remotely negative about him to someone else it'd get back to her. It always did. And the last time that happened, Sylas nearly put her in the hospital. So, she searched for some kind of concrete answer that wouldn't be some insult or secret. Just before they stepped out of the tree line onto the beach, she looked back toward Pete. "Our mother is Eris... If that is sufficient enough of an answer."

Sloane slipped out of her heels, scooping them up in her right hand before she continued forward. As she approached, numerous Pegasus took into flight leaving one remaining on the beach. She nearly looked over her shoulder toward Pete, but he didn't seem like an idiot. So, she was certain he could connect the dots for himself. Luckily for Sloane, she grew up in a rich household with numerous horses. She was able to mount the horse with ease, even while wearing a skirt.

Once she sat upon it, she finally let herself look back toward Pete as she sat high above him, side saddle. "Front or back?" Sloane asked, offering him her hand.

"Andy, you don't have to," Mason said and Eve’s eyes danced from his soft ones to Andy’s brown. Eve swallowed down a sigh, here she was trying to do him a favour, and he refuses her gift. Not that he could protect Andy from the magic already working its way through her veins. He looked back at her, "I appreciate you thinking I'm hot but you don't have to get all the girls to confess it. Don't want you getting too jealous now." His tone was casual, and she liked how he was willing to play along. Well, not so willing, but he had kissed her first.

"I don't like the word 'hot'. Only vain or shallow people use that to describe someone.” Andy skirted around the question, but Eve’s magic wouldn’t be satisfied with just that. "Yes. I've always found him very attractive." Eve chose to latch onto the word very.

She looked over her shoulder at Mason with a raised eyebrow and a hint of a smirk. She hoped he liked his gift. “See told you, you were very attractive.”

She let Mason pull her apart from Andy. Eve wasn’t dumb she could sense Andy’s hostility and dropped her arm, leaning towards Mason and resting a hand on his arm. "So do you mind if I hitch a ride with Andy or would you rather go with me?" He looked over at Andy. "If that's alright with you?"

Before Eve could respond with anything coy or fake, Andy blurted out her words first. "Who the hell are you asking?" She put a smile over the outburst, but she clearly needed some acting lessons, and Eve would be happy to give them to her. Anything for a friend of Mason's.

Ignoring Andy’s words, she turned to Mason with a gentle smile, but a sly undertone hidden beneath her words just for him. “Of course, I’d never presume to tell you what to do.” She then rose up on her tip toes pressing a quick peck to his lips, fast enough that she was done before he even had the chance to react. Shoving her away being the most likely reaction to come to his mind.

Then Andy grabbed Mason’s arm backing away, “I'm sure Princess here is fine with sharing. Obviously, she's above being jealous if she wants every girl to admit how hot you are."

Eve laughed like she and Andy were friends making a joke, keeping up her bubbly and friendly façade. She even called out to them, “Have fun you two.” Eve knew jealousy when she saw it, and it seemed as though Andy was more green-eyed monster than girl. The answer of how Andy felt about Mason seemed pretty clear where Eve was standing, and as she watched the two of make their way over to the line of horses, she felt compelled to act altruistically.

With a bit of work, a few influencing thoughts and some machinations, she was sure she could land Mason the girl. Treating people like toys in a dollhouse was kind of her specialty. And of everyone she’d met so far, she supposed she liked him the best, and she’d get to enjoy breaking up the King and Queen of camp.

Trampling down on feelings of a selfless nature. She scouted the beach for her pony riding buddy. She spotted Trinity and her loyal dog standing not too far off, and briefly considered hitching a ride with the blonde, but with him next to Trinity she decided against it. Best to no directly approach a demigod of war when they were ready to tear your head off. Wes was another option, but for some reason her magic didn’t take on him and she didn’t want to risk another encounter until she knew the rules of the game.

Instead she laid her eyes on the duo that had interrupted her kiss with Mason earlier, the blonde and redhead huddled together. She strode straight up the blonde grabbing his bicep, “You’re riding with me,” She funnelled her magic into her words and with her physical touch, she wasn’t leaving him much of a choice, dragging him along if her magic didn’t do the trick.

Arriving at a horse she realised it was a lot bigger than she’d anticipated. And well, she was an inner city kid, the closest she’d ever been to a horse was the one time he and Pete rode on a carousel. Though those horses did have wings. She wasn’t going to look the fool though, she turned to the blonde she’d dragged along, her hand going from grabbing his bicep to resting on it. “Help me up?” She asked, again using her magic to influence his actions into helping her.

Turning back to the horse, she made her way onto its back, doing her upmost to look as comfortable as possible. Finally she turned back to her unwilling horse mate. “You are getting up here aren’t you?” This time she didn’t use her magic on him, only a metre of so of the ground she already felt a tinge of fear breaking in, not that she’d ever admit that to anyone. Luckily only he was close enough to hear the hint of nerves in her voice or see how tightly she gripped the reins.

Pete stood on the grass watching Sloane ascend her steps before turning to look down at him. “Please can get better results than demands or magic.” Even for an unaffected guy like Pete that comment stung deep below his vacant exterior it painted him with the same brush as his sister. Looking down at him without a hint of an emotional appeal, which never got you far with Pete, he felt thoroughly judged.

So he stayed where she had left him, perching on her bottom step looking out at the sky, clear and blue again. It felt like Pete had only the chance to blink twice before she was tapping her way down the stair again, seemingly without acknowledging him stuck where she’d left him. He rose to his feet and followed her a step behind. “I am sorry. I-“ He had that whole time on her step think about what he wanted to say but he still wasn’t sure. He wasn’t going to lie or hide behind some fake platitude, Pete’s motto was only the truth. She he tried it. “I’m trying to be better.”

"Sylas? He's my brother. And his... deal? I don't know what you mean." Brother, he eyed Sloane as she glided always a step ahead of him. He hadn’t expected that.

But instead of worrying about her relationship with this Sylas, he felt a scowl pull his features down. “You do know.” He said, his voice growing dark, he wasn’t going to sit here and play games with her. If she were his brother, than she knew exactly what Pete was asking.

She didn’t respond for a long time, and Pete was about to stop in his tracks. He was basically stalking her for an answer here, and he wasn’t going to bother with someone who didn’t shoot straight. "Our mother is Eris... If that is sufficient enough of an answer." He supposed it would have to be as she appeared to shut the door on that conversation as they exited the tree line and were deposited onto the beach. And as they watched a series of winged horses take flight, Pete was for more concerned with their method of travel, than he was with sharing it.

His boots kicked up sand as he followed Sloane across the beach, a dumb look on his face. He was born in the inner streets of London, he’d just assumed they’d have some portal, or magic flying train. Horses weren’t something he had any experience with. And as he watched Sloane slip up the large beast, in a skirt no less, he realised it was just him feeling wary. She held out a hand to him, "Front or back?"

He raised his eyebrows at her outstretched hand and looked up at her through his hair. “I’m not sure I know what that means.” His commitment to honesty outweighing any possible embarrassment he felt at being helpless in front of a cute girl. He shook his head with a grimace. “I’m a city kid, we don’t do horses.” He said the word horses like something dark and ugly.

Still he grabbed her hand and with her help, clambered up on the great beast, with absolutely no grace. “My life’s in your hands horse girl.” He muttered darkly as they took to the skies, he didn’t like this mode of transport one bit. What was wrong with the tube? It wasn’t until they were a great way into their flight that he responded to her answer. “As a son of Hera, equating one’s deal to their parentage isn’t really sufficient in my book.” He didn’t pry her to say anything more about Sylas since it was clear she wasn’t going to.

Arriving in Olympus was a god send as the horses hooves found solid ground and Pete felt able to unclench all his muscles. Though he was quickly confronted with another issue, he was even less confident in getting off this beast without breaking something.

Iliana listened carefully as Zeus replied to her request.

"There is no chance of your powers getting out of control since there are Gods who can influence your moods to keep you calm, and happy. But, if it is your absolute wish to remain here? then I will not stop you. I will also grant full access to spending time with your mother. Remember, though... Gods cannot remain in the mundane world for too long, so after today, she will need to return back to Mount Olympus. Do you understand?"

Iliana sighed in relief and nodded. In truth she would rather go to Olympus because she was more comfortable there. She honestly wasn't expecting to stay here by herself with her mother though. She knew her mother couldn't be on earth for long periods of time also. She recalled once when she cried when her mother had to go back to Olympus when she was 7 or 8 and her mother told her why. It was hard to hear, but even as a young child she understood her mother had duties.

Iliana quickly wrote down her response.

"I don't want to be left behind and since I trust that you and the other Gods will help keep my powers in check, I'll go. I am tired of being scared though. Thank you Lord Zeus."

After he read it, she bowed before turning back to head for the beach again.

The guys watched as people started pairing up to ride the winged horses.

"You know it be a site if we paired up huh?"

This caught Heath off guard and he actually chuckled.

"Yes it would and it is not happening. I am just waiting for Iliana's return. You're going to have to ride with someone else, Ethan."

Ethan figured as much. Question was who did he ride with? Whoever it was, it was bound to be awkward. However, this didn't end up being a situation at all for the petite blonde girl that was causing issues, appeared suddenly and grabbed Heath. Heath was so surprised that he didn't even hear her order to right with her. Ethan was just as surprised as he watch the girl drag him away. It was at this time that Iliana returned and saw what was happening. Seeing a shocked Ethan, she poked him on the shoulder. He shook himself and saw her.

"Oh there you are. Glad you made it back in time, we're starting to get out of here."

Iliana listened but was looking at her adopted brother being led away by a blonde. Quickly writing in her notepad, she asked Ethan what just happened. Ethan hesitated trying to recall was exactly just happened and then remembered.

"I think that girl just ordered Heath to ride with her. He looked so surprised by her act, I think he got influenced by her."

This caused Iliana to frown and she instantly followed. Ethan sighed and was right behind her. They both caught up when the blonde asked if Heath was going to get on. Heath himself had already snacked out of his stupor. He didn't like how this girl basically ordered him what to do, but he did catch the fear in her voice with that last question. Looks like the girl had never been on a real horse. He was about to answer when he saw Iliana and Ethan. Iliana instantly wrote in her note book and showed it to Heath, asking if he was okay. Heath smiled and nodded.

"I am fine Iliana. Ethan, will you ride with Iliana and make sure she's okay."

Both Iliana and Ethan looked a bit surprised by his request. Heath took, Iliana's notebook and actually wrote something on it.

"This one is suspicious so I want to keep an eye on her. I'll be careful."

Both Iliana and Ethan nodded. Iliana looked back at the blonde girl and glared at her before taking two fingers and made a hand gesture by pointing at her eyes before turning her hand to point two fingers at her, indicating she would be watching her, and she meant it.

After Ethan and Iliana got on a winged horse, Heath finally mounted behind the blonde.

"I have knowledge of horse riding, so just hang on and clamp your legs to the sides of the horse. That's what you mostly use to hang onto it. And try not to do anything."

It was pretty obvious the horse knew the way so Heath allowed them to lead. Soon they arrived at Olympus themselves and Heath wasted no time in dismounting before helping the blonde dismount.

Soon Athena came towards them.

"As a reminder to you kids, there will be no use of your powers during Alexandria's trial. Do I make myself clear?" she asked, eying the blonde girl especially.

Oh, she saw what the blonde did to her son and while she knew it was part of her nature to be that way, she would not tolerate any mischief during this trial. It was going to be hard enough to make sure Hades didn't try anything.

"Yes mother." Heath replied.

Once Ethan and Iliana dismounted, both saw Hades confronting Alex. The god was downright scary, so much so, that Iliana hid behind Ethan. Iliana watched Alex and felt so bad for her. She also watched her approaching Wesley. Turning she also saw others dismount. Soon though, she heard her name. Turning, she saw her mother approaching. Happy to see her, the young lady ran and hugged her tightly.

"There's my little dove. I am happy to see you made it here safely. How are you sweetie?" Demeter asked before releasing her.

Iliana quickly wrote down everything that had happened so far. She never hid anything from her mother. Demeter nodded and read it all.

"I am sure Wesley didn't mean to get upset with your Lia. I know, why don't you make him one of your flower wreaths to help cheer him up? Just wait for him to calm down before giving it to him."

That was actually a good idea and then another thought occurred to Iliana. Maybe she could make wreaths for others too. There were others who just seemed to be down and she hated seeing others suffer.

Looking back at her mother, she quickly wrote, "Momma, I have another idea. Can we go to your flower house?"

"Sure dear, but we can't be there too long. Alexandria's trial will start soon."

With that, the two quickly left for Demeter's area of Olympus, via air drafts created by Demeter. Time was of the essence after all.

Ethan watched as Demeter and Iliana left. He soon saw Zeus's son was alone and decided to join him.

"Hi, do you mind if I join you? You're Lord Zeus's son right? My name is Ethan Knox and I am Hestia's son. I am sorry we're meeting under these circumstances." Ethan replied sincerely.

Image "I don't like the word 'hot'. Only vain or shallow people use that to describe someone. Yes. I've always found him very attractive," Andy had said, causing Mason to mirror her expression. He thought she might have fought Eve's powers for a split second, but instead she just rephrased to something more comfortable.

Mason hoped his light scolding towards Eve would play it all off and everyone could march on with their life but that wasn't allowed to be the case. "Who the hell are you asking?" Again, Mason turned wide eyed. Andy grew an attitude awful quick and he didn't hear Eve whisper anything about turning into a snappy gremlin. Then she smiled and took his arm and that was more frightening.

“Of course, I’d never presume to tell you what to do.” Evangeline replied as calm as ever. She went onto her tip toes and before he could register what she was after, she had snatched a quick peck on his lips and withdrawn.

Mason glared at her before Andy started to pull his arm. "I'm sure Princess here is fine with sharing. Obviously, she's above being jealous if she wants every girl to admit how hot you are."

When they had turned their backs, Eve seized the final word. “Have fun you two.”

There was a whole mood around Andy so the ride wouldn't be the 'most fun' one. He opted for silence like her. Andy approached a horse and rather than jump onto the creature's back, she stopped and turned to him. "Can you help me up... Please?" Mason grabbed her waist and hoisted her up. He wanted to adjust her dress too, making sure no one saw more of Andy than they had to but that wasn't his place. She could straighten herself out. He climbed aboard and Andy's hands slid around his waist, almost reluctantly.

"I don't have cooties, Andy." If she was worried about Hades germs than she should have gone with someone else but as long as she held on.

Silence had seemed to fill the beginning of the flight so he thought that would be the case for the whole journey. He was wrong. "Babe!?" She suddenly demanded out loud. Mason jumped a little.

"Christ, Andy what's the problem?" he demanded back. Mason tried to glance over his shoulder at her. "What the hell is it to you? I mean is it so impossible that I could have found someone?" Rather than deny going out with Eve or even being a fling he found himself being defensive over it. The shit he had to endure when Ajax and Andy were in five feet of each other, when they were at the fire... and Eve had called him babe and pecked him and she wanted to question it.

Arriving on Olympus, Mason couldn't even take in the sight. And this was probably the first and last time he'd be granted on Olympus. He climbed off the horse right away and helped Andy down despite his mood with her. He held her arm tightly so she didn't dare storm off on him. "I don't need to ask your permission to find a girl. Especially after what you did," he whispered furiously. Giving herself to Ajax who screwed two girls and only gave a shit about himself was worse than Eve's antics, she had no right to get involved in his love/lust life. "I can kiss, date and fuck whoever I want, however I want, wherever I want. Maybe at the next little party we have, I'll show you that." Mason wasn't above revenge or putting people back in their place so she could bet that was a promise.

He released her. "Maybe you'll finally get some proper attention from your own boyfriend when Alex dies."

Image ”I’d love to ride with you,” Keith found himself grinning when she had agreed to jump on the horse with him. He almost wanted to ask her to repeat if there wasn't such a risk of being deemed incompetent. And the first thing he had done casually all day was walk with her to their transport. ”I also would have loved any cup of coffee, if I am to be honest. I’m a bit of a caffeine freak.”

Keith nodded. "We all have a little demon in us," he agreed. Keith hung back in case his company had a preference of seating or any expert tips on how to mount a pegasus, but she hung back too and Keith got the cue to clamber on first. She held her hand out and he took her soft palm, trying to help her on.

She slid her arms around him and Keith stiffened slightly, not that it was a problem, he just wasn't one blessed with womanly contact often. Or at all. But he eased into it. ”Cherise, and you owe me a cup of coffee later.”

Keith chuckled to himself. "Sounds fair," he said before she nipped one of his earbuds. Gods knew what she'd be stuck listening to with the variety he had on his device ranging from the stuff mortal parents crank up to a 90s party, to the smooth melodies and the newest stuff. He only hoped it appeased her. The last thing he needed was criticism on his music taste. He found himself replacing the spare in his own ear and the song that was playing almost conveyed his feelings: MJ's 'The Way You Make Me Feel.' Keith cursed himself but remembered the assumption of others wasn't always to see things so pointedly. It was an iPod on shuffle after all.

The boy wasn't a comfortable flyer, but the presence of Cherise was distracting. Even more so when her grip would tighten dangerously around him, he had to become more focused on breathing and hoping she wouldn't press too hard on his wound dressing. Reaching Mount Olympus in one piece was a relief and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding - or forced to hold thanks to certain arms constricting him. He plucked his earbud back gently from her with a smile and jumped down the horse then offered her a hand down. "Congratulations, we made it." It probably wasn't much of an achievement to her who was beauty and grace, but he put his hand up awaiting a celebratory high-five.

"Sooo since I'm learning more about you and you had a brief preview of my song collection," he wiggled his music device before tucking it away in his pocket. "Do you have a favorite genre or song?" He awaited her answer eagerly. Music didn't define a person in whole but it did say a bit about them. "Just don't let it be techno, I have faith in you."

Eve actually snorted as the skittish blonde thing pointed to her eyes then up at Eve. As if she were in some bad 80’s movie. Admittedly, the little girl probably wasn’t any more petite than Eve was, but it felt like she was smaller with her meek nature. And the way she scrawled in that childish notebook. It was pathetic to think she could do anything to Eve.

Luckily, the gorgeous blonde waved his two ever present companions off, watching them take flight before turning his attention back to her. He slid up behind her with far too much ease, as if he actually trusted this giant beast.

"I have knowledge of horse riding, so just hang on and clamp your legs to the sides of the horse. That's what you mostly use to hang onto it. And try not to do anything.” Now Eve, if she were standing on solid ground, would have made crude innuendo about clamping something with her legs, but all lewd jokes were stripped from her mind at the large horse’s feet pranced off the ground. And she was left to grab onto anything she could, not even her ego could stop her clutching horrified to the animal.

It took them hours and hours to get to Olympus, or at least it seemed that long in her petrified brain. She was glad when they touched down and the blonde behind her helped her down. The moment her toes touched the ground she smirked, letting her ego and composure snap back in place. Happy to pretend that moment of weakness never happened. “Let’s do that again. But the next time without the horse.” She smirked up at him.

"As a reminder to you kids, there will be no use of your powers during Alexandria's trial. Do I make myself clear?" Eve spun around at the voice, she was no stranger to the stink eye Athena was giving her. She thought over the rule, truly she hadn’t considered using her powers to influence the trial, she didn’t really care enough about the fate of Alexandria. Not that a rule would stop her.

"Yes mother." Her flight companion answered, all polite and obedient. God, he was gorgeous, guys with long blonde hair were totally her type, Pete said it was because they reminded her of herself and she couldn’t argue with that logic. But did he have to be so dull. Not that he’d be the first hot but dull guy she ever slept with.

She looked up at him with a raised eyebrow and whispered quiet enough that Athena wouldn’t hear. Mother? Don’t tell me you’re a mummy’s boy?” Now that was an unattractive trait.

She flicked her gaze back to the waiting Athena with a playful smile. Eve raised her left hand as if she were completing a pledge. “I swear to be on my best behaviour.” Her lofty tone was hardly compelling, but she hadn’t done anything wrong. Yet. So she gave the Goddess an obviously fake smile until she left the two of them alone again. Turning back to Athena’s son she grinned and motioned to where his mother had disappeared, “She sure seems like the warm cuddly type.” Not that Hera had been a hands-on bundle of warmth throughout her childhood.

Eve watched the different pairings arrive by way of horseback, she expected meek girl to come running back to his side, but instead she met with an older woman before disappearing in some strange flying thing. Eve’s eyes tracked the movement. “Looks like she’s abandoned you in my care. Guess she must trust me.” She looked up at him with a wicked smile, curiosity about their relationship working its way into her mind. “Are she and you a thing? In the biblical sense I mean.” She didn’t bother putting on an act or using her magic on him, he seemed a little too boring to be worth the effort. She wasn't getting secret keeper vibes.

“If you’d please.” Sylas didn't know if he was surprised or impressed that Evelyn accepted his help. Once her hands were on his shoulders, he took her waist, lifting her off the pegasus and gently lowered her down to the ground. She gave him a polite smile as he released his hold on her. “For a man with no strings, your etiquette is amazing.”

Sylas smirked slightly, nodding his head toward her. "You may not like me, but I do believe in chivalry." He slid his hands into the pockets of his pants as he stood there patiently. He went to offer Evelyn a head to steady herself as she put her shoes back on, but the horse sufficed just the same.

That slowly followed after the group, but Sylas was in no rush to get anywhere. Olympus was definitely a grand and beautiful place. It reminded him of home, vast, expensive and cold. It was like a palace where everything felt over the top and ornate, like breathing on something could break it and would cost more than someone's soul to Hades. “I hope I didn’t offend you earlier,” Evelyn's voice brought his attention back to her instead of their new surroundings.

Sylas let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head nonchalantly. "It takes a lot more than that to offend me." He then leaned his head down slightly toward her with a slight smirk. "But I appreciate the apology all the same."

“Tell me a secret.”

Sylas stopped where he was, turning around completely to face Evelyn. My my was she intriguing. Her straight forward nature and bluntness continued to surprise him. It kept him on his toes and it was rare for someone to keep him guessing. He quirked a brow while cocking his head slightly. "A secret? You don't ask for much," he jested. Sylas then held up his hands in surrender. "Very well, what shall it be?"

“What do you wish to see at this trial?”

He let out a soft laugh, nodding his head. Good question. He pursed his lips thinking of an appropriate answer. Sylas then leaned in to speak softly into her ear so only Evelyn could hear him. "I want to be entertained." He smiled toward her, remaining at her height for a moment before he slowly stood upright again. Then after a brief moment, he decided to ask his own question. "Alright, Evelyn, tell me a secret." He smirked mischievously.

Sylas prolonged his question, letting it incubate and fester. What did Evelyn think he was going to ask? Something deep, perhaps blackmail? But no, he'd keep playing the game. He'd never admit it out loud but he enjoyed their little game of cat and mouse. "Why is such a stunning young woman, such as yourself, wasting your precious time on me?" To anyone else, it looked like flirting. And of course, to some extent it was. But underneath it was his real curiosity... Why was Evelyn Masters in his presence when she, no doubt, saw through his charade. She had his interest, whether she wanted it or not.

"Christ, Andy what's the problem?" Andy met his gaze when he looked over his shoulder at her. "What the hell is it to you? I mean is it so impossible that I could have found someone?" She never once shifted her gaze from his, holding it intently until he turned forward. She said nothing more, not for the flight anyway. She knew Mason and knew that once he was mad, nothing would stop him until it ended with her in tears and him throwing everything back in her face. It always went that way.

When they arrived to Olympus, the Pagsus's hooves were barely on the pavement before Mason slid off its back. Then he promptly helped her down, whether she was ready to descend or not. Andy didn't fight it. There was no chance for her to walk away, Mason had a tight grasp of her arm before she could take a step. "I don't need to ask your permission to find a girl. Especially after what you did," he whispered, but the fury was there.

Andy used his hold on her hand to pull him closer to her, so that her whispers would only be heard by him. "I will not let you make a scene." She didn't explain why, he knew. That's all they needed was for them to have a screaming match on the doorstep of the Acropolis before the trail for his sister's murderer. Regardless of however mad he made her, she wouldn't make the chances for a just trial be ruined from his anger.

She started to walk away from the rest of the campers, turning around a corner so that they were not seen by anyone. Andy pivoted swiftly on her heels turning to face Mason. Before she spoke, her hands pressed to his chest pushing him angrily. "Why do you always do that!?" She didn't yell for hear of being over heard, but even in hushed tones her voice was still fierce. "You always always judge me for mistakes I made... And use it against me. You only care about the story you heard, not the truth... not my truth."

Andy took a step toward him so they were less than a foot apart, looking straight up into his eyes without falter. "I was drunk. It is not a valid excuse and I'm not making excuses for my behavior. But when I woke up... in that bed where he slept with those girls. I had a mental breakdown, Mason. I was on the floor crying because I couldn't believe what I just did. But you don't care. You only care that it happened."

Her hand trembled as she raised it to pinch the bridge of her nose, trying to keep herself calm. Andy was struggling to find the words and struggling even more not to shout. "I want you to be happy, genuinely, Mason. But that... harpy? Do you think I'm a fucking idiot? I know you, better than anyone and you looked more uncomfortable than me when she showed up. So don't you dare lie to me. Don't you dare!" She jabbed her index finger into his chest as she spoke. "I have never lied to you!"

"I can kiss, date and fuck whoever I want, however I want, wherever I want. Maybe at the next little party we have, I'll show you that." Andy took a step back, finally letting her gaze drift away from his. "Maybe you'll finally get some proper attention from your own boyfriend when Alex dies."

Without missing a beat, Andy's hand raised and slapped Mason straight across his face. It wasn't the pathetic theatrically slaps most ditzy girls did for attention, but a powerful one, hard enough to make her hand sting. The second after she did that, she took a step back with a gasp, shocked at his hurtful words and her own temper. "Damn it," she cursed under her breath as she looked away from him, trying to blink back tears.

"What do you want?" Whatever anger that was in her voice was gone. Andy was just trying to remain strong after his painful words, to hold onto what pride she still had. "What?" She finally looked back at him. "Do you want to hear the truth? That I am jealous? Yes, Mason... I am jealous. I have no right to be... But I am." Andy shrugged her shoulders, defeated. She didn't know what his goal was, to hurt her or get her to admit it. But, there is was.

"You're so hurtful... You know that? I wish it was that easy for you to say how you really feel." Andy had nothing else to say. She turned from him before he could see the tear fall down her cheek and walked a bit farther down the path, farther from everyone else. She wasn't ready to return to everyone else. With a sigh, she sat herself on a ledge surrounded an ornate flower bed. Her right leg bounced as she tried to calm herself, her gaze fixated on her hands as they fidgeted in her lap. This fight felt different... Like the aftermath would ruin everything. If Mason wanted nothing to do with her anymore, it wouldn't surprise her. Andy tried to keep a stiff upper lip, but when she thought she was alone it over came her. She quickly put her hand over her mouth to suppress her sobs.

“I’m not sure I know what that means.” It was now obvious to Sloane that Pete had never been on a horse, probably had never even been this close to one. “I’m a city kid, we don’t do horses.”

"Back it is then," Sloane answered her own question before scooting up on the Pegasus. "I am... not a city kid," she replied as if that also was not evident.

Sloane helped Pete up onto the horse behind her, her hands outstretched slightly, prepared to steady him as he settled himself. "So just use your thighs," she said pointing to either one of his legs. "To grip the Pegasus. And uh... you then just hold onto me for support." She looked forward, bashful about actually speaking those words. She couldn't remember if she ever had to share a ride with someone else and she most definitely never had a man's arms around her... Unavoidable at that current moment.

“My life’s in your hands horse girl.”

"Don't worry," Sloane reassured them as they took flight up into the sky. She kept a firm yet loose hold on the mane of the Pegasus, being sure to keep the animal as steady and unchanging as possible. There was only so much she could do if either one of them lost their balance.

Once they were in flight and away from prying ears, Pete addressed the earlier conversation once more. “As a son of Hera, equating one’s deal to their parentage isn’t really sufficient in my book.” He was a persistent one, that was for sure.

Sloane was quiet for a long moment, before finally speaking up. "You and I both know that for our siblings, it is." She hadn't had the pleasure of speaking to his sister yet, but she saw some of her handiwork just moments ago. Of course, it was an assumption that the blonde was his sister... but two new campers, one tried to manipulate her to learn about her brother, they both arrive the same day? It was easy to connect those dots.

She didn't add anything further, letting them finish their flight in silence. Once they arrived in Olympus, Pete quickly looked as confused as he did when they left, the idea of descending the beast just as daunting. "Hold on," Sloane reassured him before she slid off the Pegasus's back. "Ok," She said as she turned back toward him. "Move this leg onto this side of the horse." She was on her tip toes, tapping the leg she mentioned with her fingertips before motioning her hand in guidance. "Now just slip off like a slide." Sloane held out both of her hands for him, if he wished for her aid.

When Pete had his own two feet on the ground, Sloane remained closer to him for just a moment. She looked up at him, holding his dark gaze as she spoke nearly too quiet to hear. "He's dangerous... You should stay away from him." She nodded her head and took a step back. "And if you were smart, you'd stay away from me too." Sloane trailed after the other campers, running her fingers through her hair as she attempted to fix what the wind messed up. She hoped her words of caution were enough. If anyone was smart they'd stay away from her brother, but she couldn't very well wear a shirt saying her brother was bad news. That'd only end badly for her.

Even though Athena couldn't hear what the young demigoddess was whispering, she could still see her. Soon the young girl gave her own 'promise' not cause trouble. Both mother and son could tell she wasn't going to cause any issues yet. The girl might as well had said it. Athena would have said something else, but soon her attention was diverted by a fight between Ares's daughter and a brunette.

"Excuse me." she replied before rushing forward and ordered several men to separate the two.

"That is quite enough! I don't know how this fight started, but I won't tolerate here regardless.

"I'm fine," Trinity growled.

"I am glad to know that Trinity. I think for now you could use a few minutes to calm down. Take her some place safe."

That last one was for the one men holding Trinity. They nodded and took her way. Athena then went to find Ares. It didn't take her long.

"You might want to have a word with your daughter. She just got into a fight and it might be best if she had someone to vent to so she can be as clear-headed as possible for the trial." Athena told him before going off to make sure the preparations for the trial were ready.

Heath saw the whole thing and took a deep breath before focusing back on the blonde who was with him. He purposely ignore the innuendoes she gave him and just focused on a few things.

"Iliana is my adopted sister. We are close, but not in the way you're implying. And I merely respect my mother's orders. Do you follow your parent's orders?" Heath deliberately asked her a yes or no question just to see if she would lie or not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Just call him Zeus. No need for formalities."
Ethan chuckled at that.
"I'll try, but it may be awhile. I was raised in Southern USA and manners and formalities were drilled into me since Day 1."
Plus, addressing the Ruler of Olympus as anything else was easier said then done. He doubt he'd ever get comfortable enough around the god to drop the "Lord" part. Well time would tell. The demigod next to him soon asked what he thought of camp so far.
"Hmm, good question. My companions and I only arrived a short while ago, but plenty has happened so far. As far as what I've seen and who I've met, it has been intense, but I can't give you my verdict yet on that since I still don't know everyone. As far as the camp itself, I am very impressed with how big it is and I am loving the architecture! I'll admit though, this place is just amazing! Looking at all the buildings here is giving me so many ideas for future projects! I am going to college for my architect degree. At the moment I am taking a break though to come here and help my friend, Heath, with his adopted sister. Heath was the one who addressed you and your sister back at camp. We did find his adopted sister. She's currently with her mother, Demeter."
Ethan stopped talking when the demigod's attention became diverted by something else. Turning he saw what he was looking at and remembered seeing the duo before, only the blonde was missing. He didn't hear the words, but he caught on they were arguing about something. This made Ethan recall the fight between Wesley and that other blonde. The one petite blonde had been around them too and she had been the same one to snag Heath too. Was she influencing these people somehow? That pair hadn't been arguing before she arrived. When Zeus's son returned, he was obviously angry and his next words didn't surprise Ethan in the slightest.
"I can tell you what I think of Camp so far... it's full of liars."
"Well that's a darn shame. I won't ask what happened since it's none of my business, but I do want to make you aware of someone. I saw that pair right before we left for Olympus and they weren't arguing. There was this petite short hair blonde hair girl with them. She recently influenced my friend Heath somehow to go with her, I think to ride with her. I could be wrong here, but it wouldn't surprise me if she had the ability to influence people around her. I just don't trust her. Unfortunately I don't know her name. Heath's actually keeping an eye on her now. I just thought I'd should warn you though. Oh by the way, I don't think I ever got your name."
Suddenly someone else came up on Ethan's other side.
"Well there you are. Just can't stop talking can you my boy?" Hestia said, looking at her son with a humorous glint in her eyes.
"Oh, hi mom! What are you doing here?"
"I just came by to see you, Ethan before heading to the trial. It'll me my job to help keep everyone 'cool, calm, and collected'. Of course that might be easier said then done given the situation. Well then, I'll let you two continue your chat. We can talk after the trial, Ethan."
Soon the goddess left them.
Iliana had created several wreaths made of orange gladiolus flowers in no time flat and with her mother returned back to the others. First two people Iliana saw was Zeus's son and Ethan. She approached them quickly and could feel anger coming from the dark hair man. She actually hesitated coming forward at first. Demeter, who was also carrying her daughter's notepad, placed a hand on Iliana's shoulder.
"It's okay sweetie.
Ethan turned to see the mother and daughter duo.
"Hello ladies. Iliana, did you make those wreaths?
Iliana nodded before hiding behind Demeter. Her mother smiled and turned to Zeus's son.
"My daughter is very shy Ajax. She knows you've been having a rough time lately and wanted to give you a gladiolus wreath to help cheer you up. She picked that flower because it means strength and she hopes you'll have the strength to get through these trying times. Go on and give one to him Iliana."
Iliana, trembling at this point, manage to come forward, give a wreath to Ajax, and suddenly rushed off, wanting to get away from his anger. Demeter wasn't far behind her.
Ethan sighed and turned back to a Ajax.
"Don't mind Iliana. She's been through a lot herself recently and is very wary of people she doesn't know. It's actually why she doesn't talk at the moment. So if you see her writing in a notebook, it's basically how she 'talks' now. Heath and I are hoping this camp will help her find her voice again and the 'old' Iliana can return. But hey at least now I know your name. Ajax right?"
It didn't take long for Demeter to catch up with Iliana.
"That was rude of you to leave like that Lia. I want you to apologize to him later okay?" Demeter gently scolded her.
Iliana nodded and the continued walking before coming upon someone else who was near a cliff near some flowers. Her emotions were just radiating off of her and Iliana could tell they were a complete mess. She was also trying hard not to sob and it was starting to affect Iliana. Turning to her mother, she gave her the wreathes she was holding before taking her notebook and pen from her mother and wrote something.
"Who is that mother? She looks like she could use a wreath."
Demeter smiled and gestured her to follow her. When they got closer, Demeter greeted her.
"Hello, you're Hecate's daughter, Andromeda correct? I am Demeter and this is my daughter, Iliana. Are you going to be okay sweetie? I know you've had a tough time last year and Iliana made some wreaths because she wanted to cheer people up. She was hoping she could give one to you since it looks like you needed some comfort. Is that alright with you. Iliana can't speak at the moment, so she tries to find other ways to communicate."
Eve watched the cat fight go down out of the corner of her eye, no surprise at Trinity taking the starring role. What an attention hog. The truly shocking part was that Eve had been pleasantly minding her own business when it all went down, turns out they didn’t even need her to turn on each other like savages. Though she wondered what all the fuss was about.
She was wondering how to find out, when the tall, blonde and handsome beside her spoke, capturing her attention. "Iliana is my adopted sister. We are close, but not in the way you're implying.” Of course, like the bore he was, he ignored all her innuendos and cut straight to the point.
She rolled her eyes, and fought a grimace. Honestly, she would have left him the moment their monstrous mount touched down if he wasn’t so good looking. Playing with him was no fun. “And I suppose you’re too boring to dapple in a spot of adoptive-incest?”
Again he ignored her more outrageous comment, and she felt like stripping naked just to get a reaction out of the guy. Instead though he continued on, answering her earlier comment. “And I merely respect my mother's orders. Do you follow your parent's orders?"
Eve barely took in his words as her eyes tracked movement to off to her left, Mason and Andy looking very disgruntled disappeared around the a corner. Now that was a conversation she’d eat her left foot to overhear. “Wouldn’t know, don’t got any.” She answered airily, a truthful answer though, she didn’t consider that pathetic family who housed her and her bother as parents, nor did she follow their orders. Hera was a mother of sorts, but she’d never bothered with Eve enough to give any commands. “That's why I had more fun than you did growing up.” And there was the lie. A large chunk of Eve's childhood consisted of fending for herself and Pete, receiving a cold shoulder from both her father and step mother.
Eyes on the resulting chaos of the fight Eve decided her next course of action and she looked back at the blonde with a flirty grin. She grabbed his hand, rubbing the palm on his hand with her thumb, making sure she had physical contact before using her magic. “Be a doll, go over there,” She nodded towards where the fight had taken place, “and find out what happened for me.”
What that command, she dropped his hand and skulked over to where Andy and Mason had disappeared. Hiding around the corner, manipulating the shadows to help hide her presence, she got there just in time to hear the tail end of their conversation. And she wasn’t the only one either as Ajax stormed past her all furious and thundery. "Maybe it would be easier if you were both honest for once." Eve stepped further into the shadows, as he stormed back out the way he came, not noticing her.
The moment Andy’s footsteps faded from hearing, Eve popped out from around the corner, walking towards Mason’s back. “Yikes, looks like that didn’t go too well,” She said to him as she slinked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Trapping him before he could go after Andy. “Don’t worry, I’d be happy to fix it for you,” She whispered into his ear and with a laugh she released him, but not before planting a kiss on the side of his neck.
She danced away from him, in the direction that Andy had taken. She wore an amused smirk as her eyes wandered further down the path. “Did your poor precious heart skip a bit when she said the J word?” She held a mocking hand over her own heart as she stepped back towards Mason, her other hand reaching to his to make physical contact. Then she used her words to influence his, “Be honest.”
“Hold on,” Sloane told him, and that was when Pete realised he still hand an arm clamped tightly around her midsection even though they were now firmly on the ground. He let her go and she slid from the horse, all grace and composure. He wondered where she did grow up if not the city, was she a country kid surrounded by lands and horses?
He listened to all her instructions with a grim nod. "Now just slip off like a slide." He looked down at her for a moment before deciding he had to get down one way or another, and doing it in the hold of a pretty girl wasn’t the worst way.
So he grabbed her outstretched hands and slipped of the great big beast. "I swear I'm good at plenty of other things," He muttered as he moved. He landed on two feet which was good, but he was also a little too close to Sloane for comfort, however she didn’t move away, and he didn’t drop her hands.
"He's dangerous... You should stay away from him." Her voice barely seemed audible, but Pete heard the words and understood their meaning. Their moment of shared secrets was broken as she backed away from him, and he dropped her hands. His eyes, without his permission, flicked over to where her brother helped a red-headed girl from an identical horse. Dangerous. He didn’t doubt her words, he could feel the fear and conviction in her voice.
Before he could respond though she was out of his presence, leaving behind simply, "And if you were smart, you'd stay away from me too."
He watched her go as she fell in line with the other campers, already sure he’d approach her again sometimes soon, just to prove that you couldn’t tell him what to do. Pete chewed over this new piece of information about Sylas, he already knew he was bad news but to hear it confirmed in such sinister tones. Eris was the goddess of discord, if Pete recalled correctly. His sister would love that.
Finally moving along, Pete wandered past Alex’s classically handsome bodyguard from the main hall. With a smirk he wandered up to the bigger man, deliberately cutting in next to him, to bump shoulders with him. “Hey, it’s you!” Pete said with a faked smile, as if he’d run into an old high school friend at the supermarket.
“Aren’t you supposed to be off shagging a certain something?” He gave him a wide grin as if the two of them were sharing an inside joke. It wasn’t until that moment that he realised, Sloane fearing her own brother's danger really pissed him off. And he was happy to pass it on, after all old habits are hard to break. "Didn't I give you an order soldier boy?"
Image He watched Alex march from Ajax to Wes and play with his priced invention rather than put it on the one-armed son of Aphrodite. But it was a peek of old Alex so he didn't intervene and let the friends bond...at the insult and expense of the prosethic arm.
Suddenly someone bumped shoulders into him by way of greeting. “Hey, it’s you!” The guy from the hall said with a smile on his face.
"Very observant," Duke told him, not bothering to strain a smile back.
“Aren’t you supposed to be off shagging a certain something?” Duke stopped to look at him and his ridiculous grin. “Didn't I give you an order soldier boy?” he added.
Duke outright scoffed. He then squinted as if trying to recall the moment. "Something like that...I think, yeah. But I don't take orders from pigs, Pete." He'd have to thank Alex later for giving his name up though she saw nothing in it, of course. "Your concern in either my sex life or Alex's sex life is very touching, but I'm not some primate that's going to 'shag' a girl because you say. It's kinda sick and sad that that's your order as a son of Hera. You should see someone about that." Duke gave him a brutish smack on the back, like friends do obviously.
Duke kept in stride with the man with black fluff on his head. "I would say your investment is in her over me. If that's the case, you can keep me out of it and 'just shag her yourself mate'. Or you could be more classy, ask for a date, get a first kiss, go from there." But Duke had already established he was a pig so he didn't have high hopes for Pete's class or ability to attract people, much more attract Alex. Maybe that's why he was so insecure and unpleasant. Obviously Hera didn't teach this one too good.
Image He didn't feel like judging her was the accurate term. He was just disappointed in her, there was a difference. And the thought of her with him was haunting. And imagine if every guy could get away with it - they wouldn't. Suddenly Andy had slapped him causing his cheek to radiate pain and turn in the whole direction.
Mason eventually turned his dark gaze back to her. "What do you want? What? Do you want to hear the truth? That I am jealous? Yes, Mason... I am jealous. I have no right to be... But I am."
He might have taken the information better if his cheek wasn't on fire, but he kept his firm gaze on her. "You're so hurtful... You know that? I wish it was that easy for you to say how you really feel."
Andy headed in her own direction while Mason was left in his own thoughts. He finally put a hand to his cheek and rubbed it. He wouldn't be surprised if he had a handprint left on him because that was a nasty swing as well as a sign he had stepped over the line. Ajax approached by the time Mason was able to collect his thoughts and even think about reapproaching Andy. She was one of the few on his side and after the things she had done for him and Jennova...and he let his personal feelings get in the way.
Soon Ajax stormed away, bitching about something that he didn't hear. “Yikes, looks like that didn’t go too well.” Some arms wrapped themselves around him and he sighed with no energy left to fight her. “Don’t worry, I’d be happy to fix it for you.” She laughed and kissed the side of his neck once, which Mason recoiled at.
"Is your new toy not working?" Mason asked and gestured to the blonde male she had ridden with.
Eve drifted away but wasn't done tormenting him. “Did your poor precious heart skip a bit when she said the J word?” Mason just looked at her little mock show before she touched him again. “Be honest.”
That itch just took over as if he had to tell the truth. He couldn't spill a lie or he would implode. "Yes," he muttered. "I like that she's jealous. She doesn't know the half of it yet though..." Mason wanted her to feel what he felt, but the only thing he had to answer to the blonde was how he felt when Andy admitted she was jealous. "And babe," he pulled Evangeline back to him, "try keep your urges in your pants. Don't want people thinking you're for sale or this is an open relationship." Like Eve, he dipped his head down and kissed her on the neck, only adding teeth - firm enough to hurt her, though he could already hear Eve playing it off as kinky. He shoved her away and smacked her butt before wandering elsewhere since kindness incarnate and a Goddess had approached Andy, meaning she was safe from Eve and himself for a while.
Mason needed to clear his head with the trial minutes away.
Mason looked at her... like he looked at Ajax. That gaze cut deep. Andy couldn't look at him anymore. But as she turned around to walk away she was met but another. The look on Ajax's face made her heart sink into the pit of her stomach. Her lips curled between her teeth as her head fell. "Maybe it would be easier if you were both honest for once." By the Gods, she was half surprised she hadn't gotten herself slapped in the past 5 minutes.
She lingered by the edge of the path, overlooking the long descent back to the earth below. Andy had her arms crossed over her chest, chewing on her bottom lip nearly drawing blood. In 24 hours she has all but dug a continuous hole for herself, making it harder and harder for her to ever climb out. Maybe she shouldn't. Maybe she deserved both of their anger... Of course she did. Andy was playing them both and herself all because she couldn't admit the truth or force herself to make a choice. And what was the cost? The respect and love of the two people closest to her.
Andy took a step closer to the ledge. It was a tempting idea but an easy way out. But she deserved to bask in her own suffering. She kicked a rock over the edge before she turned and began to head back toward the Acropolis. Andy made sure to give Mason and Eve a wide birth as she passed them. For only a brief moment, she picked up a small bit of their conversation. "...I like that she's jealous. She doesn't know the half of it yet though..." She wanted to stop, to listen more... To smack him again. But instead, she forced herself to look forward and act like she heard nothing, no matter how hard that was.
Halfway toward the rest of the campers, she was stopped in her tracks by a redheaded woman far more beautiful than the other campers. "Hello, you're Hecate's daughter, Andromeda correct?"
Andy nodded her head, trying to wipe the tears from her eyes and be presentable. "Yes... You can call me Andy." She tried to give her best smile, but fell short.
"I am Demeter and this is my daughter, Iliana." She should have known the woman before her was a Goddess, she must have been lost in her own mind. As much as she wanted to be more presentable, Andy couldn't bring herself to put on a happy face, not right now. "Are you going to be okay sweetie? I know you've had a tough time last year and Iliana made some wreaths because she wanted to cheer people up. She was hoping she could give one to you since it looks like you needed some comfort. Is that alright with you. Iliana can't speak at the moment, so she tries to find other ways to communicate."
"I'll... be fine. Thank you for your concern." Andy looked toward Iliana. She gave her best smile and nodded her head. "Sure, thank you." She leaned over slightly in front of the girl, lowering her head so she could put the wreath on her.
Once she had the gift on her head, Andy's attention was drawn to the tail end of a fight. She had no idea what happened but only saw as Trinity was taken away. Gods was there anywhere that she wasn't being a terrible friend? Andy turned back to the women in her present company, nodding her head politely to them. "I apologize, but it seems as though my friend my needs me. I appreciate your kindness and concern... I needed it." Andy didn't know what proper behavior was around a Goddess. She wasn't proper around her mother, for good reason, but Demeter was kind without reason to be. So, she gave them both a brief hug before hurrying after Trinity.
Andy saw where Ares went, and trailed behind him. Descending down to what she could only assume was the prison, she saw a brutish man waiting outside the entrance. Liam? Andy wasn't sure, it's not like they had crossed paths before, but who else could it be? She didn't stay to exchange pleasantries, instead hurrying inside, nearly running straight into the God's back. Thankfully it looked as though Ares had already unlocked the cell for her. All Andy wanted to do was make sure Trinity wasn't hurt, and be there for her. She had no idea what was going on, but she'd assume something with Wes, similarly to her own struggles. If anything, the both of them could use time with each other away from the camp's drama.
"I'm sorry to intrude," she said as she looked up at the God beside her. "I wanted to make sure she was ok... Probably would have broken her out too," she added with a weak laugh as she looked over at her friend. She could see how angry Trinity was, but even under that... How hurt she was, emotionally, not physically. Without waiting for permission or being shooed away, Andy wrapped her arms around Trin, pulling her in for a hug. Andy wasn't sure how helpful it would be, but if Trin felt anything like she did... it helped.
She slowly pulled away, but kept ahold of Trinity's hand, looking between her and her father. "I can go if I am interrupting."
Sloane watched, hidden and silent amongst the crowd as everything around them quickly imploded. Was this what Sylas wanted? For everyone to quickly turn on those they love? For friends and lovers to be turned to foes? She wasn't the type to intervene, but the sight of it turned her stomach, making her shift uncomfortably where she stood. One person with devious intent and the ability to make it manifest was bad enough... But this Eve? Her gaze drifted over to the blonde who promptly had her ass slapped by the brooding son of Hades. Sloane didn't like her and she didn't have to know her personally to make that assumption.
The blonde minx had been at camp for... a day? Yet demigods were fighting in Olympus, some of the most stable friendships and bonds were crumbling. She feared what other devastation could happen if some how Sylas began to work along side the impulsive girl. Sloane wasn't much of the type to get involved... She hated using her abilities, but the more she stood idly by, the deeper it would spiral.
She took a deep breath and set on a path with purpose. Sloane was never the type to be proactive, nor approach someone on her own accord. Each step made the anxiety twist within her, but the thought of things going haywire seemed to subdue it, if only temporarily. Her gaze scanned the campers trying to find a way to free the flies from the spiders traps. To most people's point of view, releasing a fourth spider onto the web didn't seem like a way to release the flies. But perhaps, that was what was needed.
Before she knew it, Sloane found herself near the prisons, a few feet before an intimidating son of Ares. What was she going to say... or do? Gods, she spent so much of her life avoiding the use of her powers for fear of the outcome. The sound of her heart pounding deafened her ears, pounding and ringing like an alarm to turn around and stay out of it. Sloane tried to ignore it as she closed the distance between them.
"I have something important you'll want to know... for your sister's sake," she spoke to him softly, only loud enough for him to hear. Sloane waited until he seemed to be open to what she had to say. Then, she took his wrist leading him several feet away from Ares, for fear of pissing off the worst God to make angry. She did not release her hold on him, as she stepped forward and shifted to her tip toes to whisper in his ear. "There are puppet masters at Camp Athens." With each word she spoke, all of her influence followed suit, soaking into him through her touch and voice. "Your sister, the son of Aphrodite, the daughter of Hecate, the son of Hades, the daughter of Zeus, the son of Athena... Their actions are not their own."
Sloane held the son of Ares's gaze, pouring more focus and attention to each word, into their brief touch. "Seek out the truth..." Then her grasp on his hand tightened as she stared at him intently, each word spoken with the strongest intent. "Do not be swayed by the words of the daughter of Hera or the son Eris." With her final words she released her hold and took a step backwards. With a slight smile she nodded her head toward Liam. "I hope you'll take our conversation into consideration."
Then with nothing more to say, Sloane turned and walked away. Her hold on Liam could not be broken by Sylas. For years her brother has tried to overpower or outmaneuver Sloane's abilities, but the truth remains that she is more powerful than him. However she didn't know how strong Eve's powers were. So far the girl had only been playing small games, ruffling feathers and bring out people's real demons. If that was the extent of her powers, then it would hold. But only time would show the effect of her meddling. Unfortunately, being a child of chaos... Sloane couldn't help but feel like her attempt to put out the fire might only enrage it.
Alex gave Wes her best smile, as she pulled a bag from her shoulder. He tried to return the gesture as best he could, but it seemed neither one of them could fake it... Not right now. "I would come back later, but... I'm not sure if this will be the last time I get to see you."
Wes took a step forward, taking hold of her shoulder with his hand. Why did everything have to happen all at once? It was like one brick was pulled out from the bottom of a tower and everything was crumbling down around him. "Don't talk like that... please. I won't let you die. Me, your brother, Duke... We will not let you die."
Alex then opened the bag and pulled out... an arm? Wes's brows furrowed as he looked at it. He really hoped this wasn't some kind of weird joke. So many thoughts of what it could be raced through his head. Was that his arm? It should have been rotting somewhere. Was it someone else's arm? No, because Alex wasn't a murderer... Then what was it? "Duke made it for you. I'm just sorry that I took so long to get it to you. He had to remind me to bring it with everything that has been going on."
Wes slowly extended his hand toward the arm, running his fingertips along the surface as he studied it. "I'll have to thank him... with a proper hug." He laughed weakly at the comment, but the thought being able to give an actual hug made him want to cry.
"It looks so lifelike. You won't be able to even tell you're missing a limb at all." Alex then laughed and tickled his nose with one of the mechanical fingers.
He couldn't help but laugh softly, as he playfully pushed it away. Wes went to say something when his attention was pulled toward a fight that broke out. He took a step forward, preparing to break it up but others were there first. Part of him was happy it was someone else. No matter what he did there... Trinity would see him as defending Liv. From this moment on, everything he did would be wrong. A thought that turned his stomach. So, instead he just watched as Trinity was dragged away and Liv continued to egg her on while looking worse for the wear.
If there circumstances were different, he would have followed after Andy to check on Trinity. But she didn't want to see him. And she, without a doubt, won that fight. Probably would have even killed Liv if it wasn't broken up. Instead, Wes turned around back to Alex, just to repress his emotions about the girl he lost. "I guess we should see if it fits, huh?"
Wes didn't really wear the right clothing for something like this, but it wasn't like he expected to receive a new arm. He slipped out of his jacket easy enough then pulled his hoodie off over his head, causing half of his hair to stand up in every direction. His left hand rolled up the dangling T-shirt sleeve where his right arm would be. "I'm not sure how it... works. Do I need to take my shirt off to like, strap it around my chest or something?"
Wow, Evelyn, speechless. Sylas quite liked the thought of it. And seeing her struggle for words and the proper answer only made his smile grow. His pace stopped and he slowly turned to face her. Then, finally, her gaze became more interested in something upon the floor as she spoke. “Maybe I'm just a fly in a web that thinks I can change the nature of a spider.”
"But don't you worry that the spider might change the nature of the fly?" Sylas quirked a brow, humoring her analogy. Sylas was a spider, that he had no doubt. But Evelyn was not a fly. They were annoying little pests of an insect with no purpose and a short life span. She was a chameleon... A captivating chameleon.
Evelyn finally met his eyes once again. “Have you considered I could be...distracting you from mass mayhem?” Then, she raised her hand to touch his upper arm. Her fingers softly began to brush his skin slowly, up and down along his bicep. “I could...want you all to myself. Maybe I want you to show me what it's like to be a little dark.”
Sylas glanced down at her hand briefly before looking back to Evelyn. Her smirk brought a smile to his own lips. My my was she good at the game. If he was a more simple man, she'd have him wrapped around her finger already. Those blue eyes, fiery hair and straight forward nature was magnetic. "Would that be so bad?" He asked as his free hand gently brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear. "The darkness can be quite... satisfying," he added as he lowered his hand, letting his finger tips brush her arm on their way back down to his side.
Then, she finally let the facade fall and the truth come out. “You're my newest subject of interest.” Sylas liked how she could play his game, yet also give him the truth. She gave him the same respect he gave her. Neither one of them had a reason to lie... They could see through the bullshit and get down to the truth. He liked that. “If I bother you, however...” With that, she turned from Sylas and went to look out over the Acropolis where the trial would be held.
Sylas gave it a moment, let her words set in and let her have the illusion that he was thinking it over. He slid his hands into his pockets and slowly followed after her, stopping a few feet behind Evelyn. "And perhaps you're my new subject of interest..." He dared a glance over his shoulder toward the commotion but by that point it had all died down. What really caught his attention was the sight of his sister wondering in the direction that Trinity was dragged off in. "Plus, I'll have you know... That I have not used my abilities since I've stepped foot on Olympus." He then raised his hand and crossed his heart. "Scouts honor."
"Yes, I like that she's jealous. She doesn't know the half of it yet though," Mason replied, Eve’s magic doing the trick. And she felt a grin forcing its way out, he sounded like a man with a plan, and that was her favourite type of man. She only had a moment though before he reeled her back into him, not that she gave any resistance, happy to float back into him. "And babe, try keep your urges in your pants. Don't want people thinking you're for sale or this is an open relationship."
“Careful, words like that are going to make my little heart skip a beat.” She warned, her voice holding a flirty tone. She hadn’t expected him to return her action though, planting a kiss on her neck. Though the addition of teeth was new. As he pulled away, she traced the spot where he’d bitten. She smirked up at him, “Now that’s going to leave a mark.”
Then with a tap on her ass he was wandering away and Eve felt a genuine smile lighting up her features. Mason was definitely fun, he knew how to play the game, and had even surprised her more than once. “The next little party, you and me are on.” She called out after him, reminding him of his earlier promise to Andy, and hoping he stuck to it.
Eve wandered slightly down the path to find Andy had abandoned her perch, she pouted but didn’t regret letting Mason hold her up. Instead she went searching for Evelyn, having a need for the redhead already. She found her pretty easy, the bright red hair didn’t exactly allow for camouflage. Except Evelyn seemed all caught up in flirting with a dark haired boy. She’d done her research and she knew all the important players, so not knowing him, she’d cast him off as being unremarkable. But he’d been hanging around Mason earlier today, and now Evelyn.
She strolled straight over to them, and caught the end of the boy's comment. With a smirked she reached around him, placing her own hand over his, trapping it against his heart. “Don’t promise something like that, it’s not good for the soul.” She whispered into his ear, before tapping his hand twice and withdrawing her own. She stepped back and perused him, her curious mind wondering what he could have possibly had to talk to Mason about.
“Did you and Mase have much of a chance to chat earlier?” She asked, her voice low and full of hidden meaning. “I just wonder what two chaps like you would have to talk about.” She flicked her eyes up to Evelyn for a moment, before she reached across stroking the back of her finger across his arm, intending to put him under her influence. “Do tell us.”
Then she turned to Evelyn, her real target for coming over. Eve could confidently say, so far two people knew her game, Mason and Evelyn. There were probably more who had clued on somewhat, after all, subtly wasn’t in her nature. Mason didn’t seem likely to help her out, so Evelyn was her next bet. Even if she didn’t know Evelyn’s game just yet.
She gestured to the loose ends of the cat fight still hovering about. “You were right, this is more satisfying than crisps,” she said referencing their previous conversation. “However, I was hoping to beg a slight favour from the daughter of Nemesis.” A favour she had no intention of returning, but stating that out loud hardly helped her case.
She glanced up for moment to ensure no one was in hearing distance, other than Evelyn’s boy. She’d approached Wes twice now with her magic, and been rebuked harshly both times, it was getting annoying and she needed a work around. “You may have noticed. Certain gifts of mine haven’t been working too well on certain individuals. I’m looking for an explanation, and well, you strike me as a woman in the know.”
Sylas was as challenging as usual, even trying to make his moral alignment sound appealing for a day. “Would that be so bad?” His free hand gently brushed a lock of hair behind her ear. “The darkness can be quite...satisfying.” He let his fingers brush down her arm; a contact that could have been avoided all together unless you were a son of Eris with daring suave. Oh, how she could plunge into a lecture about the darkness, but she spared him her views.
As she observed the Acropolis, his presence a few feet behind her surprised her. She sooner expected him to be attracted to the madness going on around them. While it wasn't in immediate proximity, he surely had some sense of chaos to leech off it. “And perhaps you're my new subject of interest...”
She gave a neutral hum in her throat as response and turned around leaning against the balcony, catching him looking off in the direction of the commotion. Evelyn quirked up a brow. Her offer stood. If she was bothering him, he could leave whenever he liked and she'd likely find a new person to invest in. “Don't hurt yourself, handsome. I know you're a gentleman but you can leave whenever you like. I won't take it personally.” She waved a hand in the direction of the, now, solved dispute.
“Plus, I'll have you know... That I have not used my abilities since I've stepped foot on Olympus.” He made some swear by it gesture. “Scouts honor.”
“Since you've stepped foot on Olympus?” she echoed, amused. “A whole thirty minutes?” She tilted her head and would have tutted his name, even teased him about seeking validation from her for good behaviour, if her eyes didn't drift pass him to Eve. A name was part of identity and not hers to give.
The Daughter of Hera latched her claws in him and promptly entered seduction mode, whispering something in his ear. “Don’t promise something like that, it’s not good for the soul.”
Technically, there had been no promises but that was Evelyn's logical mind, not brazen and extra flirtatious mind like a certain blonde's. Plus, it wasn't being whispered in her ear for full effect. If Sylas somehow needed help figuring out who it was, Evelyn's smile, caught between smug and humorous might have given away that it was his future wife.
The blonde continued to speak lowly to Sylas, but enough to be heard. “Did you and Mase have much of a chance to chat earlier? I just wonder what two chaps like you would have to talk about.” Eve's eyes met hers for a second before continuing to charm her other half. “Do tell us.”
When there was a request by the children of Hera, she could bet that was their opportunity to capitalise their magic. Evelyn watched, fascinated between the two's interactions, particularly her favorite subject's response. She didn't make a peep or any grand gestures to draw attention to herself, just observed as if she were further away.
Then Eve's attention shifted on her. Here we go. She gestured to where the fight had taken place. “You were right, this is more satisfying than crisps,” she said. “However, I was hoping to beg a slight favour from the daughter of Nemesis.”
Evelyn inclined her chin. They were all here and she hadn't walked away yet so she might as well have humoured the idea at least.
“You may have noticed. Certain gifts of mine haven’t been working too well on certain individuals. I’m looking for an explanation, and well, you strike me as a woman in the know.”
A smile fought its way to Evelyn's lips and she reached out her hand. “You’d have to compel me or show me my destiny in exchange to get that.” Evelyn retracted before the blonde's paws could land on her to even try it.
Her eyes shifted between the two and she nodded to herself, resting her eyes on the blonde. “I think I know what you remind me of... A child that doesn't get their way for the first time in their spoiled life, demanding to know why things didn't happen as they wanted.” Eve was stomping and jumping throwing a temper tantrum. She hadn't seen nor heard Sylas fail yet, but she imagined he wouldn't fall far from an angry child that would sulk in silence until he had a new plan so just maybe it applied to him too. “Besides, you didn't even say please.” Evelyn concluded.
She sighed. For the little jab at Eve, she could provide some answer. “This is the big leagues, you're not playing with mortals anymore. Maybe if you told me who you were targetting I'd give you some tips.”
She cast her gaze on Sylas. She wanted to press her fingers to her lips or throw him a wink telling him to let her work her own angle, but she couldn't trust Sylas - they weren't teammates or buddies. She couldn't silently rely on him to play the game to her favor. “Take this fine gentleman here for example, who is smart and crafty at the least,” she said instead. Evelyn narrowed her eyes thinking on how best to describe and appeal to him. “You need tact to match his. A bit of spontaneity to keep him on his toes but...let him think he has ultimate control. I think he loves control like he loves his cards close to his chest.” At best Sylas may possibly like domination in the bedroom, but beyond that, he liked the reins of a situation. “Am I close?” she asked Sylas finally.
Even if she was way off base, it was all a learning curve. Anyway, she'd likely leave the new duo soon, not wishing to be a third party to their forward advances or scheming and bonding.
Heath was very annoyed with the blonde's choice of words regarding his relationship with Iliana. One thing did stick out with him. She found him boring huh? It didn't surprise him since she probably thrived on causing things to happen and he knew he was as straight-laced as they come. When she commented on not having any parents though and was actually truthful about it, his only reaction was a raise of the eyebrows. He already narrowed down that this girl was either a child of Eris or Hera due to them being able to influence people in a negative light. His gut told him Hera. He knew a bit about Hera through his mother and how the two tolerated each other at best and at times had a bit of a rivalry. The idea though that someone like Hera would neglect to watch over her own children didn't sit well with him. Heck even his mother, who was almost always busy, tried seeing him several times a year at least. This would explain why the blonde had no reservations in doing what she wanted though. She had no boundaries set to begin with. This still didn't excuse her behavior. Her lie about 'having more fun' was even more telling. Having no parent to watch over her, she obviously had to fend for herself too.
Heath didn't have much time to think though when the blonde touched him and gave him an order to find out about something. Heath was glad he wasn't paying attention to what she was referring too. So the order itself didn't have much of an effect on him. He now knew how she was able to have an effect on him so quickly, she touched others. He would be wary of that. Seeing that the minx was gone, he looked around and saw Ethan talking with Zeus's son. He wouldn't worry about him. Looking around he saw Iliana and her mother handing out Wreathes. Seeing he wasn't needed, he decided to head for the trial and to 'find out what would happen' there. That blonde minx might be more clever then him, but he was much smarter than she thought. Besides, he had that famous Scottish Stubborn streak.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When Ajax mentioned how the blonde could be Hera's daughter, Ethan had to agree with him. It made sense, considering what he knew about Hera. His mother mentioned how the two goddesses use to be close, but things changed when Zeus picked a mortal woman over her and she got super jealous. She never went into details, but it was obvious the whole ordeal hurt his mother.

And he nodded in understanding when Ajax told him he wasn't going to talk about recent events. Heck Ethan was holding back things about himself and his friends because he didn't know the demigod that well. The demigod made Ethan laugh though when he asked if his mother was single.

"Sorry man, my mom still loves my dad."

What he didn't add though was even though his father still loved Hestia, he was starting to feel unworthy of Hestia because while she still looked the same since the day they met, he was starting to get older, being in his late 40s. Ethan did wonder if it was possible for a mortal to be turned immortal. Oh he knew about Greek myth stories about ambrosia being the thing mortals ate, but he didn't know if that was an actual fact and was too nervous to ask Hestia about it.

After Iliana and her mother left, Ajax did confirm his name and started talking about his sister a bit before asking a favor of him to find Hecate. He then remembered why they were in Olympus. Alex's trial. And it seemed she had killed someone. Was it this Jennova that Ajax mentioned. And Ajax thought the reason Alex killed her was because of this bracelet? Deciding not to think about it since he wanted to not anything influence his thinking, he decided to try and help Ajax find Hecate.

"Okay I'll try to help, but um, I don't know what she looks like nor where she is actually. This is my first time to Olympus. Maybe she's already at the area where the trial will be. I know my mom and Athena are probably there now. Maybe we can ask one of them or any of the other gods?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iliana was relieved when Andy accepted her wreath. Even though she didn't grin, her eyes lit up a bit at least. Demeter sighed. She would give anything to see her daughter smile again. Soon the brunette left them, wanting to check on her friend.
"Do you want to find Alex or Wes now Lia?" Demeter asked her daughter.
Iliana nodded and the two walk off. Lucky for them they found both Wes and Alex. This was right after Alex helped Wes put on his new arm and both caught Alex telling Wes to go hug someone. Demeter came forward first with Iliana hiding behind her mother again. She was still worried that Wes was mad at her.
"Well that arm fits you perfectly Wesley. Hephaestus's son created that right? Oh pardon the intrusion, but my name is Demeter and my daughter Iliana here wanted to give you two something since both of you have had a rough go recently. And Wesley, Iliana wanted to apologize if she upset you earlier too. Go on dearie."
Taking a deep breath, Iliana came out from behind her mother and handed out the two flower wreaths to Alex and Wes. After that exchange was done, she returned to her mother.
"There, that wasn't so bad. We'll leave you two alone now okay?"
And with that mother and daughter left, although Iliana looked back at Alex and Wes one more time. The two started heading for the trial's location themselves.
Image Once back at Mount Olympus, he gently took a hold of his daughter's arm, causing her to flinch before she realised who had taken hold of her. "Forgive me, Wesley. I need to talk with my daughter before the trial. Ares... Athena..." he didn't need to say anything else to them, for they knew what they needed to do. They lead the other Campers to be seated around the upper level of the arena where the view of the entire trial would be seen clearly from there.
As Zeus and Alex headed to the lower section of the Acropolis to the ground level of the arena, the braziers flickered to life. It was a dark corridor with no windows, wide enough for a carriage with its dark stone walls. "I visited your mother's resting place today," he told her. "Such a beautiful and peaceful place."
"Yeah... it's always been her favorite. Father... I... do you still love Mom?"
"I do." he smiled. "I always have, and I always will. You remind me of her every day. I shall never forget the first day we met... or the day that you and Ajax were born. It was the happiest moments of my life. I was lucky to have such a woman fall in love with me. Even though she was only mortal, she was a Goddess to me. A beautiful, kind, strong-willed, and courageous woman, who stole my heart the second she smiled. Your mother was too good for this Earth. She'll be proud of you, Alex. I know this because I am too."
Image She lowered her head and walked right into her father's torso, her face hidden there as she allowed the tears to fall. His arm and hand cradled her head as he placed a kiss on the top of it. It wasn't just her father's words that had set her off or the trial... it was everything from last year.
"Now," he pulled her back gently, his hands resting over both of her shoulders before he cupped her face. "Prepare yourself. You can do this." he placed one kiss to her forehead before he headed out of the large doors to the arena.
She smiled a little, but it faded when she caught sight of Hades in the crowd before the doors shut behind her father. He had been looking straight at her with nothing but a cold stare. He was determined to see her downfall, and then, her brother's and father's.
Image Her jaw clenched and twisted at the very thought of Hades doing his best to steer the trial in his favor. Others would watch and listen, blinded by his poisonous lies as he swayed the crowd to take his side with flowery words of reason, and Mason would turn on the charm alongside his father, changing the minds of those who once stood loyal to the children of Zeus.
She clenched her teeth behind her screwed up lips. It took everything inside of her to not allow her head to run from her with nothing but negative thoughts, but she couldn't stop it. She cried out as she violently threw her right fist forward into the closest wall, Knuckles crashing into the hard layer of marble. A loud crack, which echoed down the corridor, raced up the wall as she paused to look down at her knuckles covered in blood. Her nostrils flared with a heavy breath. It felt good. The adrenalin that rushed through her entire body, the urge to pummel a God into next week felt good. She pictured Hades trapped beneath her, while over, and over the power behind each punch dug a deeper hole into the wall with blood that dripped onto the floor.
It was not long before Hurried footsteps headed in her direction from behind her, followed by two hands that seized her. They pulled her back with almost no effort at all. "Stop!" Ajax yelled as she became restrained to his strength. He was stronger due to being older, and more advanced in his training. "Deep breaths." he told her, yet again. Her brother had stopped her so many times from going too far, and once he thought she had calmed down, he let her go and watched as she turned to face him. "You done?" she nodded in reply. "Good." he tossed the bracelet to her, which she took hold of once it hit her chest. We found Hecate, but it's not good news... the bracelet was cursed, but it isn't anymore."
Alex threw the damn thing to the ground. "How am I supposed to convince everyone now?"
Ajax sighed. "I don't know. You'll still have people on your side, Al."
"Lucky me." she sighed this time and headed over to the arena doors, bracing her hands against it. Zeus had finished with setting up the trial no doubt since he was calling for her to join them. With her hands still braced against the door, she lovered her head and closed her eyes.
"You'll be okay." If only people could stop telling her that. It already wasn't okay. She should have never stepped in this place, to begin with. How was anyone ever going to forgive her after this? Ajax will always be known as the murderer's big brother.
she took a deep breath and pushed open the doors.
All eyes were on her as she made her way to the center of the arena.
Image She looked up into the crowd, taking in the faces that she wouldn't likely see again, and the faces she was happy to never see again. She found herself glaring in Mason's direction as Hades sat comfortably beside him. "Alexandria Valis. Daughter of Zeus." Ares's voice spoke, causing Alex to now look at him. "You stand trial for the murder of Jennova Ambers. Daughter of Hades, and sister to Mason. How do you plead?" At first, it seemed like a mortal courtroom with Areas as one of the judges lawyers.
Part of her wanted to just plead guilty, to give Mason and his father the benefit of her death. She, however, would happily be on her way to see her mother again... if the afterlife even existed. Her father never could speak of it, for it was against the rules no doubt.
If the fates had decided that today was her day... then so be it, but she wasn't going to go down without a good fight. She hadn't forgotten what Duke had told her, and that was the reason for her answer. "Not guilty." she replied with no hesitation as her father overwatched the entire thing from his throne. He clenched his fists in excitement, almost jumping up from where he sat. His little girl wasn't giving up.
"With the Gods and their children present... we all bare witness to her plead. Now..." he addressed the crowd once more. "Speak on behalf of yourself, or another... for, or against miss Valis."
Sloane gave one final glance over her should toward Liam as she departed him before the company of two other women quickly joined him. Her right thumb stroked the palm of her left had as she walked, trying to keep her poise while her mind raced with thoughts. She hated using her abilities, it crawled under her skin like a disease turning her stomach, giving her cold sweats and made her hands clammy. Sloane could feel her face go pale, luckily though, she was already quite pale so she hoped it would not draw attention.
But what was almost stronger than the sickening sensation she got from using her abilities was the high. Sloane couldn't recall the last time she used them, willingly. It felt like what she'd imagine removing a corset would be like. You grow used to it while you're wearing it, but once you can remove the contraption it was euphoric. The sensation always made her second guess why she refused to use them in the first place. It must have been similar to what an addict felt when they shot up for the first time after being sober for months.
It was like Sloane could breathe for the first time in who knows how long. And for a moment, she enjoyed the freedom of it. There was no wonder why her brother never held himself back... Beyond his own sociopathic tendencies, the sensation was like nothing else. Sloane enjoyed the feeling for the brief moment she had it before she was met by her brother's own curious gaze. He could tell by one look if she was using again and he knew. But the grin on his face showed he had no idea how and that, while he hoped it was to his aid, it was quite the opposite.
She didn't linger like the other campers, instead making her way into the arena finding a seat toward the back where she might be lucky enough to be ignored. Sloane didn't understand why her presence was required in Olympus. She knew little to nothing about the Valises, aside from the fact that over half of the drama at the camp seemed to revolve around them. While she herself couldn't care less about the proceedings and their outcome, she knew her brother was most likely foaming at the mouth to witness a trial in Olympus.
"Alexandria Valis. Daughter of Zeus. You stand trial for the murder of Jennova Ambers. Daughter of Hades, and sister to Mason. How do you plead?"
"Not guilty." Alex's response didn't surprise her. Sloane didn't know many people who would admit guilt to a crime, especially murder.
Then Ares did what she wasn't expecting... He asked them to speak up for or against the Valis girl. "With the Gods and their children present... we all bare witness to her plead. Now... Speak on behalf of yourself, or another... for, or against miss Valis." Sloane found herself sitting more upright in her seat, leaning forward as her gaze scanned the others. She couldn't help but be curious at what the others would say.
Alex laughed, which made Wes smile. He was glad he could get a smile out of her given the circumstances. "Let me help you," she said as she stepped forward and helped him remove his shirt. With the day he's had, he might worry about how it'd look to someone... to Trinity. But if she was going to get mad at him for getting help putting on a prosthetic arm, then there was no winning for him and he'd just have to accept it. "There." Wes tightened the straps before looking over the mechanical arm. "You're whole again... pun not intended."
Wes was able to make the arm move and fingers flex with ease. It worked like he never lost his arm in the first place. The workmanship was incredible. He'd be lucky if he could make a decent paper mache arm, but this was a piece of art. He carefully reached out with the new arm and slowly pulled on his T-shirt. But when he went to straighten it, the strength of prosthetic surprised him and ripped the fabric. "That'll take some getting used to," he laughed.
"Now go hug him." They both laughed before they were approached by two others.
Wes turned to find Iliana accompanied by a stunning red headed woman. "Well that arm fits you perfectly Wesley. Hephaestus's son created that right?"
"He did. I'll have to figure out a way to thank him," Wes replied with a slight smile.
"Oh pardon the intrusion, but my name is Demeter and my daughter Iliana here wanted to give you two something since both of you have had a rough go recently. And Wesley, Iliana wanted to apologize if she upset you earlier too. Go on dearie."
Wes smile faded slightly when Demeter mentioned Iliana. "It's not her fault... It's mine. I'm sorry," he apologized looking toward the girl as she hid behind her mother. "I just... I've had a hard day and when I'm mad, I'm not good company." He took the offered wreaths, placing one on Alex's head then gave her nose a boop with a smile. He wanted to keep her smiling as long as possible before the trial. Wes then put his own on and posed slightly. "How does it look?"
Then Demeter and Iliana were off. Several feet away, Iliana looked back towards Wes and when she did he gave a wave of his new arm and slight smile, hoping he didn't frighten her for good. It wasn't long before another God joined them, his presence startling Alex at first. "Forgive me, Wesley. I need to talk with my daughter before the trial. Ares... Athena..."
"Just one second your Lordships? Sirs?' Wes didn't know how to address them, but he brushed it off and pulled Alex in for a hug, being careful to be gentle with his new arm. He didn't care if he kept them waiting, he wanted her to know that he was there. "I'm not going anywhere. And neither are you." He sighed before finally releasing her and letting her rejoin her father along with the other Gods.
Wes slowly made his way over to Duke who was accompanied by a dark haired male he hadn't met before. "They came for her," he said toward the son of Hephaestus before looking toward the stranger. "I'm Wes," he extended his prosthetic arm, then quickly withdrew it. "Uh sorry, it seems Duke here makes a good product and I need to learn its strength."
"Thanks, by the way," Wes said as he looked back toward Duke. Then he pulled the brute in for a hug. Duke never seemed like the hugging type, but Wes was and Alex seemed to the like the idea of it, so... for her. "Promised Alex I'd give you a hug," he laughed. His gaze drifted between the two before focusing back on the friend before him. "Do you mind if I sit with you?... I... Think it'd be easier for her if she could see us all together to support her."
Wes slowly made his way to the arena, walking in stride with Duke. He made his way to a seat that was as close as possible, wanting to be within Alex's line of sight incase she needed a friend or support, or just to know that they were there. The Gods didn't hesitate to get things started, even asking Alex if she was innocent or guilty. A little of his own tension seized when she said innocent. That was one step in the right direction, if even a small one. But then the worst part came... where they could speak for or against her. There was no doubt that Mason and Hades would speak out toward her guilt.
He didn't wait, standing up quickly to be one of the first to speak. Wes didn't care if he was jumping the gun, but he had to support her. "I'm Wesley Preston... Not that that matters," he waved it off. Who he was wasn't important. "Alex is my best friend. She is a good and kind person, who would sooner fall on her blade for someone else rather than be the one to take a life. There is no way that she did this without being under the influence of someone else. I would stake my life on her innocence." Wes then looked down toward Alex, giving her a slight smile. "She's not a murderer."
“Since you've stepped foot on Olympus? A whole thirty minutes?”
Then a blonde join them, no doubt the blonde that started this whole game of cat and mouse between himself and Evelyn. She placed her hand on top of Sylas's when he crossed his heart. “Don’t promise something like that, it’s not good for the soul.” He wasn't the type to make a scene, but the blunt forwardness made his brows furrow as he took a slight step back to keep the blonde and red head within his line of sight.
Before he addressed Eve, he glanced back to Evelyn with a grin and a nod of his head. "Touché," Sylas said in regards to her previous comment. He could allow her to win that round. Every gentleman lets the lady win now and then. Plus it looked as though this blonde wasn't going to let them continue their little game of intrigue without her own presence.
“Did you and Mase have much of a chance to chat earlier?" Sylas cocked his head to the side slightly. This girl was not subtle. Where did she get off thinking she had any right to knowledge about his own private conversations? “I just wonder what two chaps like you would have to talk about. Do tell us.” Eve then brushed her fingertip along his arm and there it was. That electricity he felt whenever Sloane and himself tried to use their magic against one another.
Sylas let out a genuine chuckle as he looked toward Eve with a smug arrogance, crossing his arms over his chest. "Oh, honey, you didn't think that was going to work did you?" He then made a clicking nose with his tongue before he continued. "Last time I checked, my private conversations are none of your business." And that was the truth of it. And although the addition of the mischievous blonde peaked his interest, Sylas found himself slightly on edge ready to move. He knew people like this girl, like himself... And when they are denied what they want they find other means. And though he has no right to keep Evelyn from Eve's grasp, he wouldn't let her get the brunt of it because of words he said.
He watched as Eve shifted her attention toward Evelyn, and although he could take that as a sign to leave, he didn't. Sylas instead stood there and observed. After all, this was whom Evelyn wanted him to tame. “You were right, this is more satisfying than crisps. However, I was hoping to beg a slight favour from the daughter of Nemesis.” Sylas looked between the two, yet remained silent... observing. You may have noticed. Certain gifts of mine haven’t been working too well on certain individuals. I’m looking for an explanation, and well, you strike me as a woman in the know."
“You’d have to compel me or show me my destiny in exchange to get that.”
Sylas extended his hand out to cover Evelyn's before Eve had a chance to use it to her advantage. "I don't think that would be the best idea." Luckily, the red head retracted her hand, only teasing Eve rather than actually letting the woman compel her. And when the blonde didn't take the bate, he slowly retracted his hand but continued to watch their interactions like a hawk.
“I think I know what you remind me of... A child that doesn't get their way for the first time in their spoiled life, demanding to know why things didn't happen as they wanted.” Sylas couldn't help but smirk slightly. Well, he was pleasantly surprised to know that she was fiery, not only in appearances. He was tempted to laugh, but decided to remain silent. “Besides, you didn't even say please.”
“This is the big leagues, you're not playing with mortals anymore. Maybe if you told me who you were targeting I'd give you some tips.” Sylas looked over to Evelyn. Now she was giving tips to the blonde that she wanted him to tame. Curious? Did she have a dark side indeed? Or was this all part of her own master plan?
Then Evelyn motioned to him. He perked up slightly, raising a brow and smirking. “Take this fine gentleman here for example, who is smart and crafty at the least." He chuckled softly, glancing down for a brief moment as an act of modesty. He didn't know her game, but part of him didn't mind being an instrument for a stunning woman to make a point... Or whatever else. “You need tact to match his. A bit of spontaneity to keep him on his toes but...let him think he has ultimate control. I think he loves control like he loves his cards close to his chest.”
Sylas rested his chin in his palm as he watched her try to demystify him, studying her intently. Brains and beauty, if he didn't know better, Evelyn was the femme fatale out of the two women before him. “Am I close?”
"More or less," he replied, smiling toward the red head. Sylas then looked back toward the blonde, adding his own final assessment. "I might add that you're not being very... subtle. Your pretty face might not last much longer if you do not learn some tact." It was then that he noticed the other campers and Gods making their way to the arena. The trial must be starting soon, and he did not want to miss that. He gave Evelyn another glance like a silent invitation to join him if he wished before looking toward Eve one final time. "Contrary to what you've been lead to believe... Not everyone can be your puppet. Maybe you should refresh your knowledge of the Gods."
Andy stood back quietly as Trinity vented, letting all her anger come out as she shouted toward her father. Not that she was mad at the God, but needed to let it all out. Andy understood. In her present circumstance, screaming at someone sounded wonderful. But it wasn't the time, not for her. So, instead she stood silent letting her rage overflow and Ares to help reassure Trinity in a way that she couldn't.
Ares didn't seem pleased with her arrival, letting out a sigh and straightening. His gaze was harsh, even if he didn't mean it to as he looked at Andy. She wanted to apologize and back out of the room but Trinity spoke up before herself or the God before her could. “No, no, I think we're done here.”
Andy went to follow after Trinity, but was briefly stopped by Ares when he spoke to her and Liam. "Keep her from punching anyone else." The son of Ares gave a thumbs up in response.
But Andy snorted, bringing her hand up to her mouth to keep herself from laughing. "Sorry sir," she mumbled into her hand and followed after Trinity. What was she supposed to do? Trinity was stronger than her, and she knew damn well if she got in the way of her friend kicking someone's ass, she'd probably get punched in the process. She quickly caught back up with Trinity, lacing their arms together. Andy needed the closeness and comfort of a friend, and she could only imagine the feisty Ares girl needed the same.
Trinity motioned her thumb toward Sloane who was walking away from them. “What'd she want?”
“Oh, I think she was lookin’ for someone else and I scared the lass away.”
"Well, you are a little intimidating," Andy commented. She then held up her thumb and index finger measuring a small amount in the air. "Just a bit," she added with a playful smile as she looked between them.
"Let's get our asses to the Trial, aye?” They all but took a step in the direction of the Acropolis when Liam stopped and turned to ask them another question. “What was her name, by the way?”
Andy glanced over at Trinity, quirking a brow. Was he interested or something? That would be a curious pairing, no doubt. Sloane was so small compared to Liam he could practically scoop her up and put her in his pocket. "Sloane... I honestly don't know her lastname..." Her brows furrowed together as she thought on it more. "Or her parentage. I've been... preoccupied." She sighed softly, quickly flashing the best smile she could manage, under the circumstances.
She started to make her way toward the Acropolis where the trial was going to be held, trying to keep her attention forward. But just for a brief moment, she glanced over her shoulder. Her grip on Trinity's arm tightened slightly as she looked between Mason and Ajax, before she quickly turned her attention back ahead. Andy gave herself a moment to try and push whatever thoughts she had to the back of her mind and put on the smile she perfected over the past year. The one that said she was ok, even though deep down... She wasn't. Andy then leaned her head slightly toward Trin as they walked, whispering low enough that only herself and perhaps Liam would hear. "If your father smites me for accidentally laughing in his face, you'd mourn me... right?" She laughed. Andy was doing what she always did, relying on humor to cover her own problems. But right now, in Olympus... It was necessary.
Andy slowly made her way to the Acropolis. She didn't know how to feel now that they all were there. Her hands were shaking slightly as she followed the others to their sitting area around the arena. Should she say anything once the trial was underway? Whether or not she spoke, no matter what she did, someone will be angry with her... There was nothing she could do without hurting someone else. Andy hadn't realized that she still clung to Trinity's arm, probably tighter as they drew closer. "Sorry... If you don't want to stay, I won't stop you. You could slip out without anyone noticing... I have to stay. I don't know if I would forgive myself if I didn't speak... the truth."
She slowly released her friends arm and continued forward into the arena. Her gaze quickly found Ajax and Mason, but her feet carried her far away. Andy took a seat on the far side of the arena, by herself. Her fingers twiddled in her lap, while her leg bounced nervously. "Alexandria Valis. Daughter of Zeus." Ares voice was loud and commanded silence among everyone in the arena. "You stand trial for the murder of Jennova Ambers. Daughter of Hades, and sister to Mason. How do you plead?"
Andy's gaze drifted from the God the brunette before him. "Not guilty."
"With the Gods and their children present... we all bare witness to her plead. Now... Speak on behalf of yourself, or another... for, or against miss Valis."
She sat there in silence, watching others as they stood up and they made their cases for or against. Andy tried not to look toward neither Ajax or Mason, she didn't need either one of them clouding her mind. The anxiety was building in her and before she could let it make her second guess her decision, she stood up. All eyes quickly shifted to her, causing her face to flush and her knees to tremble. "I uh... I'm Andromeda Bolton," she introduced herself. She wasn't sure if it was necessary or not, but anything she knew of human court involved stating your name for the record. So, it couldn't hurt.
"I was the first person at the scene... I thought it might be beneficial to recount what I witnessed." It was difficult for Andy to remain standing tall, to not fidget or stare at the ground. Everyone's gaze drilled into her, judgemental, curious, angered and every other emotion in between. "I remember it started to rain... There was limited visibility, almost like walking through a blizzard. I somehow wondered my way to Jennova's cabin where I found her... them." She took a deep breath as images flashed before her eyes like it was yesterday. "Alex stood on the porch to Jennova's cabin. And Jennova... She was on the ground, decapitated."
She swallowed, raising her shaking hand to brush a lock of hair behind her ear. "I then went and got Ajax. When I returned... I buried her," Andy had to force the words out. "Jennova was unarmed. It looked like a murder... in cold blood." With nothing to add, she quickly sat back down hoping to disappear amongst the others in the arena. Andy didn't dare glance over at the gods or the other campers, not wishing to see their reactions to the words she spoke.
“Oh, I think she was lookin’ for someone else and I scared the lass away.” Made sense. Liam wasn't the most approachable guy.
“Well, you are a little intimidating. Just a bit,” Andy said, speaking her mind. Trinity smiled and drew her own gap using her arms.
“Let's get our asses to the Trial, aye?”
Yeah, it wasn't actually much of a choice now was it, she wanted to grumble but refrained.
“What was her name, by the way?”
Even if Liam hadn't stopped, his inquiry brought Trinity to a halt in itself. Then she met Andy's look and it seemed they were on level with each other again. “Sloane... I honestly don't know her lastname... Or her parentage. I've been... preoccupied.”
She mentally self-fived for getting a reserved demigod's name right. She kinda lived in her violent bubble but she picked up on names pretty quickly, particularly when it came to teams and Trinity wanted to anticipate who was friend and foe in a game like capture the flag. Still, she knew jack all about Sloane beyond her first name. Another factor Andy and Trinity had in common was going through their own rough patches: being preoccupied as Andy put it, and Andy's was hella lot busier than her.
Trinity followed blindly and let herself be led by an anxious Andy, feeling her grip tighten now and then on her arm that already had claw marks and bruises. Trinty put her free hand over Andy's and would have given her strength if it was the kind she needed. “If your father smites me for accidentally laughing in his face, you'd mourn me... right?”
“So badly. Especially when there are so many others to smite first.” It wasn't nice or joking enough to lighten the atmosphere. “Like...bad drivers,” she added. Man, did they piss the world off. Probably just as well Trinity didn't have the power of the Gods.
They drew closer and closer and Andy's grip tightened more on her arm. It didn't hurt, but it still drew a frown in confusion from Trinity. She wasn't a mind reader to know why Andy was so worked up about it. “Andy, you're not the one on trial, you know that right?”
Then finally before they entered the arena, she snapped out of her little anxious spell. “Sorry... If you don't want to stay, I won't stop you. You could slip out without anyone noticing... I have to stay. I don't know if I would forgive myself if I didn't speak... the truth.”
Trinity nodded and smiled at her friend. Andy slipped forward while Trinity hung back, mulling it over in her mind. She glanced to Liam. Would the same apply to him? Would he let her head back? It wasn't a life or death choice but Trinity acted as though it was, really weighing the pros and cons. At the current time, she was living a pretty good philosophy, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. She wasn't sure that would hold in the trial though.
“Err, I have to watch.” She knew if she didn't, she'd feel guilty later on for not supporting her friend. Or even regret witnessing the grim outcome of the trial. As much as she craved her space, this was more important. “Maybe you should sit next to me so I can look like an angel and folks can remember what a real threat looks like,” she said. Plus, he was the perfect 'don't come near me' barrier. She started to walk again even if it was reluctant.
“Of course,” she spun on her heels to face her brother, “you don't have to.” He probably knew that but in case there was any obligation cause family loyalty and all that fun stuff. “If you'd rather sit with a certain brunette that's like, this high and this shape,” Trinity drew some rough measurements with her arms and chuckled, “I won't blame you.” Though Sloane appeared quiet to Trinity, she was probably better in the terms of company.
The time for jokes had quickly disappeared as the trial had begun and Trinity fell into a seat near Andy. She didn't quite reach beside her friend, but she was around, a couple of rows back. Then the test began for Trinity to keep her mouth closed, or at least until she could figure out how to say what she wanted. Wes spoke up. Quick to kiss Alex's a- his arm! Trinity almost smiled for him. He wasn't disadvantaged anymore. Daily chores would be easier and it looked wicked. Then she remembered they were hardly on speaking terms and he scored himself a date with another blonde.
Trinity gave it a little more of a brew for a couple seconds then spoke, “Look,” Trinity rose then rolled her eyes getting the formalities out of the way, “- Trinity Wallace, Daughter of Ares. I don't know much about the actual events except word of mouth. Mason, Theo and myself were absent on a mission. I know Alex killed Jennova, but that doesn't make her a murderer. She doesn't have murderous tendencies, trust me I know. If anything, after she killed Jennova, was when she became a little unhinged. But I'm a strong believer of an eye for an eye, and I'm not sure who started it. So either payback is due and she should face some form of punishment in the eyes of the Gods, or Alex ended the cycle with Jennova.” That was more inserting her two cents in the suggestion box than speaking for or against Alex. Personally, given how it all happened, she thought Alex should have faced some punishment regardless.
Not long after Trinity had sat, Andy spoke. solidifying Alex in the wrong. “That's rough, killing someone unarmed with their sibling out of town,” she mumbled. Even Liam and Trinity gave the opponent a chance. Then again, part of Alex's unhingement was her rambling on about getting proof and finding herself so maybe there wasn't fair play all around. And maybe Trinity was just in the mood for others to have pain inflicted upon them.
Eve watched as Evelyn extended her hand, offering it like a gift. “You’d have to compel me or show me my destiny in exchange to get that.” Her natural instinct took over, tempting her to give the redhead what she asked for. Show her one of Eve’s patented twisted destinies, maybe one of misery and loneliness.
Of course Evelyn was just playing, too careful to actually put herself at Eve’s mercy. I thought supported by the guy next to her who covered her withdrawing hand, "I don't think that would be the best idea."
Eve eyed the guy’s hand that was still hovering in the air, her magic hadn’t worked earlier and she had little hope of it working now. She switched her gaze back to Evelyn. “I think I know what you remind me of... A child that doesn't get their way for the first time in their spoiled life, demanding to know why things didn't happen as they wanted.” Her mocking tone of voice had Eve clenching her jaw, she fought a scowl that threatened to break out across her features. If this girl wanted a reaction and she wasn’t going to get one from Eve, as she forced her features to stay neutral. “Besides, you didn't even say please.”
“Didn’t I?” Eve responded, faking an appalled expression. “Don’t tell my mother, she’d have a fit.”
Evelyn continued on. “This is the big leagues, you're not playing with mortals anymore. Maybe if you told me who you were targeting I'd give you some tips.”
Eve was intrigued by the offer, tips from someone who had been around longer. She smiled coyly, “Thanks, but a girl has to keep some cards close to her chest.”
Evelyn seemed to understand at least she decided to use the man next to her as an example. “Take this fine gentleman here for example, who is smart and crafty at the least. You need tact to match his. A bit of spontaneity to keep him on his toes but...let him think he has ultimate control. I think he loves control like he loves his cards close to his chest. Am I close?”
"More or less. I might add that you're not being very... subtle. Your pretty face might not last much longer if you do not learn some tact." As Sylas spoke, Eve eyed over the two of them feeling put out. They acted like she was some grade school kid not old enough to play in their games, and she felt every hidden meaning like a whip. She abhorred being treated as anything less than.
She pushed down the feeling, keeping her posture entirely indifferent. She flicked her eyes between them both, forcing a whimsical laugh. “God, Look at you both. Standing there so self-serious.” Her features rearranged into a smirk, “You make something that is supposed to fun, tedious and boring. Speaking with big words and double meanings rather than actually doing anything.”
Her gaze finally landed on Sylas, and she raised her eyebrows while she made no secret of looking him over. When she reached the top of his head, she shrugged like she found nothing about him interesting. “And you, you fancy yourself a little mastermind of some imaginary game you’re playing?” She laughed leaning in so she could whisper into his ear. “I prefer playing games in the real world.”
She was walking past Sylas when she caught his last line. "Contrary to what you've been lead to believe... Not everyone can be your puppet. Maybe you should refresh your knowledge of the Gods."
“I prefer to think of them as dolls,” She called back over her shoulder as she strode away, determined to have the last word. She could still feel their mocking as she walk away, and it irked her to no end. She’d show them. She didn’t need her magic to manipulate this lot.
She strolled straight up to Theo standing on his own where the fight had gone down, a son of Artemis wouldn’t have any powers to give her pause. As she approached him, she looked down at her hands as she wrung them together, adopting a pose of hesitance. “Theo right?” She glanced up at him for a moment before fixing her gaze on the ground. She needed to look nervous and penitent. “I- I’ve made this great huge mistake.”
She forced her eyes to water as she looked up at him. “Trinity, you’re friend? She’s- she’s kind of scary. I’m so scared to approach her, so I was hoping you could pass a message on to her for me?” Eve looked down again scrubbing at her eyes with the back of her hand as if holding tears at bay. Then she looked faking a surprised expression. “Oh, The trial!” She grabbed Theo’s arm, “I have to tell you everything, come sit with me.” She time she used her magic to influence his actions, hoping that he’d sit next to her, just because it would rile up Trinity. Then she made her way to the trial sitting directly in Trinity’s eye line.
Daughter of Zeus || Hex: #d63b71
"I'm Wesley Preston... Not that that matters," Alex never liked him doing that to himself, talking like he didn't matter. He did matter, and he was just as important to the Camp as anyone else. "Alex is my best friend. She is a good and kind person, who would sooner fall on her blade for someone else rather than be the one to take a life. There is no way that she did this without being under the influence of someone else. I would stake my life on her innocence." He looked towards her, giving her a slight smile which she returned. "She's not a murderer." Alex looked to the Gods that stood in the room. She tried to see if she could make out their reactions to Wes's words, but none of them even flickered any clue of emotion. Still, Wes had done his best to voice his thoughts about her, to try and show the rest of the room that she really wasn't a monster.
Duke came second. "I'm Duke Loycen, son of Hephaestus. I've known Alex for a couple of years, enough to say I know her well. Commonly, there's signs of a killer being born or a sociopath and she displayed and even now displays none of that. She's not a murderer or a monster. I know that hurting Jennova weighs on her conscience, so I don't think it was deliberate and I don't think it was premeditated. Killing isn't in her or her instinct. Something must have pushed her, whether circumstances or a person." He sat back down, and with his eyes on her, Alex smiled. She felt proud of both, him, and Wes. Both of them had stood up before everyone and not cared about what others might think of them for taking a 'murderers' side.
It was a good start, but Andy soon leveled everything with her speech. Of course, she would take Mason's side, but had they forgotten that Hades also tried to kill Ajax before Andy placed herself in harms way instead? It should have been Hades standing trial. Not Alex, who took in a deep breath to ready herself to hear what Andy now had to say. "I was the first person at the scene... I thought it might be beneficial to recount what I witnessed. I remember it started to rain... blood. There was no visibility, like walking through a blizzard. I somehow wondered my way to Jennova's cabin where I found her... them. Alex stood on the porch to Jennova's cabin. And Jennova... She was on the ground, decapitated. I then went and got Ajax. When I returned... I buried her. Jennova was unarmed. It looked like a murder... in cold blood." Alex remembered it now her memories were back in full swing, which is the reason why she lost most of her sanity. All of the memories hitting her like a sledgehammer to the gut with no intervals to catch her breath. Still, even if the memories had formed slowly over time, it still wouldn't have made a difference. She still felt guilt and disgust for taking another's life.
She could still picture the way it happened, blood, Jennova's blood, dripping from the blade of her sword. If she was murderous, then she would have killed Andy for bearing witness to a murder that Alex did not commit alone. "Trust you to take lover-boy's side." Ajax said, glaring at Andy without turning his head completely.
"Son.. be silent." Zeus warned, which caused Ajax to clench his jaw as he now kept silent and waited for an opportunity to make his own speech.
“Look- Trinity Wallace, Daughter of Ares. I don't know much about the actual events except word of mouth. Mason, Theo and myself were absent on a mission. I know Alex killed Jennova, but that doesn't make her a murderer. She doesn't have murderous tendencies, trust me I know. If anything, after she killed Jennova, was when she became a little unhinged. But I'm a strong believer of an eye for an eye, and I'm not sure who started it. So either payback is due and she should face some form of punishment in the eyes of the Gods, or Alex ended the cycle with Jennova.”
Alex wouldn't blame her if she decided to take Mason's side, or anyone for standing up for those they cared for since those who cared about Alex were only doing the same. However, Trinity's words had actually surprised her. She was smart to not go by hear-say. Trinity had placed herself in the neutral zone, so to speak. She hadn't been there, so to blame Alex outright without bearing witness, would have been crazy.
The newest campers seemed to be talking quietly among themselves, probably to try and guess if Alex was actually guilty of the crimes she had been committed with.
Many years ago, there was one God which had gone against the laws of their cosmos. He had slaughtered so many mortals, all because they chose to no longer worship him. This angered Zeus. This particular God was not placed on trial, for his actions were evidence that he had done it deliberately, and showed no remorse for his actions. Zeus destroyed him where he stood, and he was never mentioned in Mount Olympus again. Though he swore, that if anyone broke the laws again... he'd make them stand trial. That murderous god, the rotten apple of their roots had once been Zeus's friend. He couldn't allow that fate for his child, especially when part of her still remained.
Image The trial didn't seem too bad, but as soon as Hades stood to speak, Alex imagined she could feel the earth beneath her beginning to slowly open up to swallow her. Her soul would be damned to the firery depths of Tartarus, where Hades would never allow her to see the light again, or her mother who was hopefully at peace in the fields of Elysium, which is Persephone's domain - gifted my Hades himself. The snake opened his mouth and began to poison the ears of those who chose to listen. "I will remind those present that this trial isn't about intentions and an individual's belief, but the actions of the Daughter of Zeus. We all know what that was, and as a result, I have no daughter anymore. And he, without a sister. In robbing this one life, you have robbed others and you have forbidden growth. Jennova was a girl. Around the same age as the children present, no more powerful, no wiser. She attended this Camp because she wanted to better herself, like many demigods. Even I thought it would be a sanctuary, but it appears it is where the vile are permitted to roam." Alex remained silent, tears falling down her cheeks as Hades's words cut into the most. She thought that was the end until Mason added his own words. All of it made her feel even worse.
She could no longer look at anyone. Her gaze remained focused on the sand floor of the arena, wishing it would really open up and swallow her this time. Her heart felt like it was crushing along with her lungs. She held her hand over her chest, steadying her racing heart, and struggled breath.
Her brother was the last to stand. "Ajax Valis. Son of Zeus." he still didn't like saying that, still held a grudge against his father like an immature child, but this time... he finally decided to let it go. "You all forget, that it was Alex who did her best to keep everyone safe last year. She held the biggest threat back with me and our father, placing her own life at risk for everyone else to stand a chance. She held them back so the others could take out the lesser threats. Alex has been nothing but kind, and for a sudden change of personality, surely people should know that isn't right. No one can suddenly change overnight, especially when she's been such a lovely person her entire life. She was a rebel during her teen years before attending Camp Athens, but that doesn't mean she is a murderer. We all have a past.. every single one of us. Does that determine who we are, and who we choose to be now?" he sat down, fists clenched. He didn't want to take it any further, scared that he might say something he'd later regret. Her brother's words were honest, but it didn't seem to be enough. Even with Duke and Wes on her side, it just didn't seem to do her justice.
Image This was it. As Ares stepped down from the podium, Alex squeezed her eyes shut tightly, begging beneath her breath, sobbing as she readied herself for the fateful blow... but it didn't come.
She opened her eyes and looked up. Ares had taken hold of her arm instead, and lead her over to the luminescent liquid that filled the large basin. Were they going to drown her in that thing? without a word, he let her go and held out his hand, signaling for her to step into it. So she did.
Image She stood there, looking down into the basin as silence fell on the room. All eyes remained on her, and it wasn't long before the room also grew dark with only the Pensieve's light to be seen.
Memories began to form. They spiraled up before her which gave the others the insight of what exactly Alex was seeing. It formed clear images of the past, followed by whispers until they turned into voices, voices that echoed clearly around the room. Zeus swallowed as he recalled Susanna's voice.
"Alex!" she rushed over, both of her arms held open wide to embrace her child. With her cheek pressed against her mother's shoulder, Alex closed her eyes as her own arms wrapped around her mother's slender frame. Already, she hated this. The warmth of her mother's love was never forgotten. Not even the scent of her perfume that had been embedded in her skin and clothes. It had been a Greek flower - An Iris - one of her father's chosen favorites from Aphrodite's garden. "I take it the camp allowed you to finish and come home for the holidays?"
"Yes."
Susanna frowned. "What's wrong? are you not excited to be home? you and your brother get to spend time with me until you have to go back. We can plan something together. What do you think? Alex?"
She felt her hand squeeze around the handle of the blade she had suddenly picked up, and before her mother could even get the chance to leave, Alex began to plunge the knife repeatedly into her mother's stomach as she remained emotionless, even while her mother screamed in pain.
Susanna fell to the floor, bleeding to death as she begged for help, but Alex just stood there. She watched as her mother reached out toward her, her bloody fingers gripping at the bottom of her trousers. "Please..." she begged again, right before Alex finished it and exited the kitchen, leaving her mother's lifeless body in a pool of blood.
Image Part of her that remained in the present, stepped back and screamed out. She couldn't believe she was seeing her mother dead like that for the first time. That memory had kept itself from her... until now. "No!!" she wailed. Athena quickly moved to her side to support her.
"It's okay.. keep going." she whispered into her ear. "Dig a little deeper." but Alex didn't want to.
"No, stop! please... let me take a break. Please." she begged. Athena looked up at Zeus. He nodded once to give her the all-clear, so Athena gently leads Alex out of the memories.
“More or less,” Sylas responded, making her smile. She'd take it. “I might add that you're not being very... subtle. Your pretty face might not last much longer if you do not learn some tact.” And she thought she had been unkind, holding Eve in similar regards to a child. But it was a potential reality for the daughter of Hera.
Evelyn so much as shifted her weight to follow Sylas before, true to her nature, Eve didn't respond so well to the comments made. “God, Look at you both. Standing there so self-serious. You make something that is supposed to fun, tedious and boring. Speaking with big words and double meanings rather than actually doing anything.”
Evelyn tilted her head. What exactly was supposed to be fun that they made tedious and boring? “We're sorry you feel that way,” Evelyn offered emptily. The words were unapologetic and instead translated to we're not changing for your benefit. Gods, more double meaning. Consider her called out to a degree.
When Eve's eyes moved to Sylas, she quickly understood the first jab must have been more for her and Sylas's was impending. “And you, you fancy yourself a little mastermind of some imaginary game you’re playing?” She laughed then approached Sylas's ear to have some more intimate words with him.
“Contrary to what you've been lead to believe... Not everyone can be your puppet. Maybe you should refresh your knowledge of the Gods.”
Just give her the answers Sylas, but it didn't matter for all Eve called over her shoulder was, “I prefer to think of them as dolls.”
Evelyn tried her very best not to break out into a grin watching Eve wander off to a new victim and lick her wounds. She didn't often take such pleasure in another's faults, but Eve was so remorseless and shameless and just herself. “You try to help a girl and she thinks you're playing 'riddle me this'. If I didn't know better, I'd say you upset her.” They hadn't blatantly told Eve what the problem was but they very well pointed her in the right mind path.
Once again Evelyn let herself be guided by Sylas into the arena. As she settled in, she couldn't remove her gaze from him and of course, it was rude to stare, but it was a compliment to ponder. “You have much explaining to do,” she forewarned him and let a hint of a smile cross her lips before her eyes turned on Alexandria as the trial began.
Many spoke for her, claiming she was a good person at heart and this event held some extraneous variable propelling Alex into her actions. In the hall, even Ajax had said something about believing an item to be cursed by Hades. In Evelyn's version of court or a trial, the only thing that would truly stand and make a difference was hard evidence, or at least, a compelling argument. When did Ajax intend to show the bracelet? Unless it didn't give him all the answers he could hope. It was silly placing so much faith in one theory.
Evelyn's thumb tapped on her lips as emotions got involved. Mason chose to refer to the son of Hecate as dead because of the Valises and her gaze flickered to Keith. There were so many kinds of death after all. Reluctantly she tore her eyes from the boy with glasses to focus back on the present talkers. Then Ajax spoke, who still didn't bring the cursed item into the argument. She couldn't follow their logic, a trial was no time to withhold information. Then the Gods introduced the Pensieve luckily, and it allowed a large peek, larger than what would have been welcomed, into Alex's actions. Evelyn's eyes widened at the brutal attack and she sat straighter, thumb glued to her bottom lip in shock. If these were the moments prior, it was no wonder they thought her cursed. The shock factor took Evelyn's keen eye for detail out of the equation, however.
Alex begged for a break and her wish was granted. Evelyn sighed mixed with disappointment and relief as her hand finally moved to cup her own neck. Gods knew how long the intermission would be. She looked around to the rest of them, avoiding Sylas's eyes should he share an insensitive comment about the scene that unravelled before him. At the same time, it was important not to tip any weights so he could appear more favourable in her mind. Let it be raw. “Entertained so far?” she inquired, looking at him finally.
“Also, I am terribly curious to see what you think of my matchmaking skills.” Evelyn gestured to Eve, who now latched to a boy whose name she couldn't recall. But he looked relatively vulnerable to the charms of a woman. He was definitely someone to stroke the blonde's ego. “But I'm most curious,” she smiled knowing she was daring Sylas to answer her again, “to know why you interfered with Eve. That hand intercept of yours could almost be seen as a preserving move. Now, a man's intentions can remain his own, but if you don't tell me I'll just assume you have a secret soft spot for me,” she stated, mocking a matter of fact tone.
