Introduction
The Ancient History of the Olympians.
Long throughout Greek Mythology, the Olympian Gods are most known for their constant meddling with humanity. However in time the Gods realized the error of their ways, they had nearly brought destruction to Earth numerous times, deciding finally to put an end to it. They cut off all ties with humanity, they stayed in their respected domains and led humans go their own way. History as we know it continued normally, however with the birth of Rome and the Roman Gods, a terrible reality was created. The power of human worship was great, through worship alone they unknowingly created an alternate reality. One where the Roman Gods had always ruled, these Roman Gods sought to take all the evil of the world and trap it back in Pandora's Box. They succeeded in capturing all the evil, but through folly they unwillingly absorbed it. All the evil and chaos overwhelmed the hearts of the Roman Gods, in their hatred and malice they brought destruction to humanity. Even going as far as to release their own Titans to create a dark alliance.
In the original Universe ruled by the Olympians, things went on peacefully, overtime they fell into luxury. No longer needing to control Earth, lightning raged on its own and love was born from free will. The Earth was dawning the modern age, when the great catastrophe struck Olympus. The Gods were unprepared, the Roman Gods, in need of a new universe, traveled to the ones of the Olympians. With the combined strength of the Roman Gods and their powerful Titan allies, Olympus was destroyed, the Gods, killed in battle. One thing alone saved the Gods, whose souls could escape the carnage. They merged with the souls of newly born infants, the souls of the infants and the Gods merged. Creating a strong unity, both souls joined, yet completely separated. These infants, in time, would rise to become both the Champions of the Olympians, yet also their very essence.
The Champions.
Infants were chosen at random, the only way the God's souls could merge with them is when their human soul entered their bodies. These Champions would grow to have bits and pieces of their Olympians personality. Physical changes as well would take place, all of them would grow to be handsome/beautiful, with bronze skin and powerful bodies/minds. It is completely your choice to decide how your Champions life goes, it is for you to decide how much the God inside of them rubs off on them. Do know that they do not know their true identity, they will certainly know they are different however. An example would be, the Champion of Zeus will accidentally cause raging storms when he is angered or upset. Over time their powers will develop, but their bodies are still human. Though they may be able to punch through walls and think/comprehend faster then any human. Their bodies can not handle the complete power of a God, if abused to much, their body will start to crack and eventually be destroyed by the raw power of divinity. For now they will be unable to communicate with the God inside of them, only in moments of extreme stress and need, will they journey into their mind to meet the Olympian resting inside of them. (The first time this happens will take place in the RP for every RPer's character.) These humans will all be born on the same day, when they are all 18, just graduating high school. The threat will make itself known, only then will they discover their destiny.
The Quest.
Over the 18 years the Olympians are living in their host, the Roman Gods will sit upon Olympus. Finally they will turn their fierce gazes to Earth, attacking it with the Titans to to take it over. On the first day of the invasion, all the Champions will notice their power sky rocket. They will question who they are and what is truly happening to them. The ally of the Olympians(a greek figure who will be decided once I see which Gods are taken.) will find the Champions and unite them. In hopes of reclaiming the world and Olympus, and saving their Universe from the wrath of the Roman Gods. This will not take place in high school, it only will int he beginning but afterwards, you'll be lucky if you don't see a school in ruins.

This oddity worried him very much, he had never heard of red lightning before, but what worried him most was the increasingly dreadful feeling that radiated from the storm.
Suddenly he heard a clamor of piercing screams, looking down at the streets below he nearly jumped out of his skin. People were running through the roads and people were abandoning their cars, his fear however came from the horrifying creatures that ran through the streets after the people. They were like beast out of legend, goliaths with the heads of bulls, horses with the upper bodies of humans, even winged creatures that swiped through the people. Creating ribbons of blood that splashed against the buildings and road. There were so many variations of beast that cut down the people, he was utterly terrorized in fear when he heard a terrible shrieking behind him. As soon as he turned around he felt the razor claws of a harpie tear through his shirt into his chest, the weight of the blow send him flying off the building screaming. As he plummeted to the streets below, adrenaline coursed through his body as he yelled in fear. Closing his eyes he waited for the moment of silence that would be his death, however it did not come, he opened his eyes to see the streets below him but they were not coming any closer. To his shock he realized he was simply suspended their, he yelled, "What the hell?!" and began waving his arms frantically. Becoming adjusted he looked back at the top of the building where he was previously standing, a ring of harpies circled above it like vultures waiting for their meal. Anger filled his heart, choking out the fear and submitting it. Aiming at the harpies he concentrated all his willpower and shot back through the sky towards them, he was flying like a bolt of lightning, aiming his fist ahead of him like a spear head.
Rocketing towards the beast that had wounded him, he punched through it with all his might, destroying the foul birds heart. Three other harpies flew at him, shrieking in anger at the fall of their comrade. He was not used to flying yet and didn't known how to dodge, instead he raised his arms to block the fierce talons. Instead of cutting through him like they previously did, the broke against his arm as if his skin was made of steel. Feeling a rise of hope he yelled in triumph, catching the harpie by surprised as he grabbed at its neck snapping it between his fingers like a feeble stick. A kicked off the invisible barrier that was air, speeding like a bolt of lightning at the last two harpies.
They attempted to dodge him, but he grabbed both of them by a wing and sped to neighboring roof smashing them against it without remorse as if he was some divine avenger of olden times. They beast fell limp as their spines broke against the hard cement building, he was panting hard though, this moment of adrenaline wore off and he felt fatigue like he had never felt it before in his life. Looking down at a reflection in a puddle of water, he caught sight of his own eyes. They were filled white like storm clouds, his mouth fell open in surprised and he gasped loudly. The white however receded, his eyes returning to normal.
It was at that moment a strange youthful boy appeared before him, Andras stepped back but not in fear, but in awe as the boy appeared as beautiful as an angel. Before he could say anything the boy grabbed him and in a flash of gold and blurred colors, the two vanished from the spots. Appearing in a green field he had no chance to take in his surroundings, but instead fell onto his knees, dizzy from the sudden trip. Before he could say anything to the boy, he vanished just as quickly as he had appeared before. What the hell was happening? Andras thought to himself.
Rae was amazed when the screaming suddenly rose in volume and pitch. What were those kids doing? She frowned and sat up, placing a hand on the tree that provided her shade. Hmmm. That’s odd. Not only were the kids running and screaming, but the adults were, too, blankets, kites, and toys abandoned as everyone sprinted in different directions, parents scooping up their children as they ran for their cars, for their houses. Spotting something that didn’t look quite right, Rae gasped, eyes wide in disbelief.
A riot of birds flew overhead, screeching, sun reflecting harshly off of them. Closer to the ground, even larger birds circled, diving at the people below them. She blinked and looked closer. Were those…no, they couldn’t be…human heads? Harpies? That wasn’t the worst of it, either; a huge beast stalked through the park, roaring and yelling. This, too, had a human head, but its body was feline. Scrambling to her feet, Rae took a deep breath, and, seeing that the beast was about to pounce on a small child, she sprinted towards it, dodging people and monsters alike.
What are you going to do? She asked herself, feeling a mixture of fear and determination. Fight the thing? It’s more than four times your size! But she continued towards it nonetheless, snagging the child around the waist just as the beast leapt, landing heavily on a now-empty patch of ground. Rae kept running, the kid struggling in her grasp, yelling and hitting her, the ungrateful little brat. Glancing over her shoulder, Rae swore under her breath, practically throwing the child forward, just as a harpy swooped down, talons extended. Rae threw herself to the ground, dodging most of the blow, but the creature clipped her, sending her tumbling forward, bruising her shoulder and back. She landed right on top of a picnic basket, contents spilled across the grass. Grabbing for a weapon, her fingers found something cool and metal. Glancing at her weapon, she almost laughed. A butter knife, 12 inches long, with a dull five-inch blade. Yeah, fight the harpies with a butter knife. Genius.
She shook the thought off and held the blade tightly, bracing herself as another man-headed bird swooped towards her. At least the kid had gotten away safe. She’d checked- a woman had grabbed him and ran. Focus, Rae, she thought, though part of her was yelling at her to run as well, to cower and hide. But she didn’t standing firm and focusing on the beast diving at her. Dodging the talons, she grabbed its foot, jumping up. The harpy, not expecting the added weight, shrieked as Rae swung herself up to its back, plunging the blade towards its face, feeling it sink into something to the hilt, hot blood spilling over her hand. The harpy plummeted to the ground, Rae jumping away at the last second landing, miraculously, on her feet, as the harpy hit the ground with deadly force. She was breathing hard, staring at the dead beast, unable to tear her eyes away. Finally she closed her eyes, turning away, remembering there were others like it. The lion-beast had gone, following the majority of the crowd, as had many of the harpies, and the weird birds were nowhere to be seen. A few harpies remained, however, and were watching her with beady eyes. Scooping up more tableware, she threw it at them with surprising accuaracy, hitting their faces, their necks, their wings. Another fell, and if it hadn’t been dead before, it certainly was now, tangled up in the playground. The rest stayed back, most fleeing. Gasping for air, Rae braced her hands on her knees, the ground swimming in front of her.
Someone’s there. Rae glanced up, feeling someone’s prescence, before whoever it was- she had a brief impression of beauty- grabbed her, and the park disappeared, and another view swam into being, green hills stretching away from her and another person kneeling in the grass. She realized why as a sense of dizziness surfaced, making her sway and close her eyes for a moment, feeling the adrenaline rush subside and astonishment replacing it.
As usual she grabbed a blueberry muffin and some Coca Cola. She grabbed her car keys, cell phone and headed out the door. She didn't have to work today so she thought about heading downtown. She got in the car and she heard a girl scream. It was high pitched and she sounded really scared. Olivia looked over and saw the girl get killed by a huge cow looking thing. The cow thing looked familiar, like something our of a book. 'Minator' Her eyes widened at the beast until it saw her. She quickly turned on the ignition and started out of her driveway.
Her car wasn't fast enough and the beast rammed the back of her car, making it swerve and hit a tree. Her head banged the wheel and she was dazed. She slowly got out of the car and fell to the ground trying to gain her strength back. Just as she fell a Harpie came and tried to snatch her up, but when she stuck her hand up the Harpie exploded. She was confused, but she got up and started to run. As she ran she heard the screaming of people all around her and she didn't know what to do. These beast were attacking her home and she couldn't save them all.
Abby blinked her throat feeling dry and sweat pouring down her body as her brain processed everything that was happening. She heard a harpy screech behind her and turned to see a harpy diving at her. Without thinking she dove inside the house watching the harpy crash onto the balcony. She slammed the glass doors closed and ran through the apartment grabbing a jacket and pulling on socks and shoes. While she was doing up the laces she saw more and more harpy's gathering on the balcony slamming there thin bony hands agaisnt the glass. She knew even if the harpy's were bony they would break the glass. Panic rose up in her as a crack appeared on the glass. Tying her shoe she ripped open the door and ran down the hall and down the stairs.
Bursting outside into the daylight she had to squint to see anything. People ran and the smell of heavy smoke filled her lungs. The rain got worse and thunder clapped across the sky shaking her. She turned to run after the screaming people worried they might be heading in a wrong direction when something took a step that knocked her off her feet. She looked up seeing a cyclops over head. She stared frozen as it blinked it one blood red eye at her yet seemed not to see her at all, and instead bent down to pick up a car. She looked over to wear the cyclops was aiming. Two people a pregnant woman running with her child. Panic rose up in Abby as she looked around desperate about what to do. But with her panic rose a wild courage and Abby bent down picking up a piece of shattered glass she slammed it down into the foot of the Cyclops cutting her hand in the process. It's pained roar mixed in the thunder but it only raised the car higher clearly it's small brain was blaming the mother and her child for the pain in its foot. Abby looked around her mind scrambling she knew that the eye was it's biggest weakness she needed something to throw... Something she could kick or throw. Her eyes spotted what looked like a newly purchased baseball set in an abandoned car and without hesitation she ripped open the door grabbed the baseball, took half a second to calculate the exact force, velocity, distance and angel she needed before winding up and launching the baseball into the blood red eye of the cyclops.
A pained scream split the air as the cyclops dropped the car shaking the ground and making Abby fall onto the cold wet cement. The mother and child were gone. But now the Cyclops had a new target. /Her/ She watched the hulking creature turn and and lift its huge muscly leg and get ready to crush her under it's huge dirty foot. She closed her eyes getting ready for the agonizing pain and crushing when she felt herself being pulled down as if she were falling. She woke up laying in a field and sat up confused and dazed. "Well...I'm pretty sure that there was nothing like this they taught in school..."

Luke should be feeling happy but he could only feel remorse, now that the gang had finally let him free. He knew that the Giant would be suffering from the bad fall but no one dared squeal about it. He had also been avoiding Cordelia, he had been trying to for a year but he couldn't find the strength to leave her. Not sure if he loved her or whatever it was that made him attracted to her. She was the biggest bitch and slut in the hood and he knew better than to be sleeping with someone like her. "Enough!" He paused with what he was doing and grabbed Cor's left wrist, she had been hitting her since they saw each other. He knew she couldn't hurt her but it was getting annoying. "I told you to leave me alone, I don't want anything that has got to do with you." He said through clenched teeth as his gray eyes bore against hers.
~~~
His grip was starting to hurt but Cor knew better than to complain, she was a masochist after all. He was staring in her eyes as he spitted words of disgust. Her brows were frowned as well but she was determined to make him stay. "Please, Luke. I love you..." She pleaded him, caressing his left shoulder with her right hand. She was trying to pull him in her arms. Maybe he needed her body. So she started fumbling with his jeans with her free hand and tried to kiss him in the neck. She let off a sultry moan, enough to make any man's knees weak. She might not be the prettiest woman in the world but she's surely the sexiest.
~~~
Luke groaned as Cor started kissing his neck, if he was the Luke before then he would have ripped her clothes off already, but since his mother's death only sorrow and anger filled him. He pulled her away and was about to slap her when his right hand paused in mid-air. He looked away and released a furious sigh, more of a grunt. He had let go of her wrist so violently that it had sent her flying to the bed. Once she was out of his way, he grabbed his bag and stormed out of the motel room.
Since his mother's death, he couldn't bear living in the apartment that they have been occupying for years. He missed her so much. Above him, the skies started getting darker. A storm might be expected, a weather to match his mood. He then heard Cor shouting for his name but he just kept walking.
~~~
"Lucas! Wait for me!" Cor was able to recover from being thrown to the bed and went after Luke. He needed her, he was the only one who made her feel human. If she's going to lose him, she might as well die. If she finds out that another bitch is stealing him from her then let's just say that that girl might be in the newspaper in a few days. She ran after him but he was too fast for her. She did her best to reach him and slid off the fire staircase, in within seconds she was blocking his way. She could hear the motel owner shouting at them but she couldn't care less. She walked towards Luke and noticed that the sky had been getting ridiculously darker, police and ambulance sirens from afar and sounded like there were gang fights everywhere. Cor was about to move towards Luke when a *snake like creature dangled from the second floor, it revealed its fangs and spitted venom that almost got Cor but before she knew it, the creature was grabbed by a hand. Before her, Luke was struggling with the snake's head but what shocked her the most was that it's tail also had another head on it. She quickly pierced the other end with her stiletto and making sure to crush it's head. Nothing lifts her mood than seeing death.
~~~
When will she stop?! He released a tired sigh and continued walking, he wasn't shocked to see that she managed to slide down the fire staircase, sending the motel manager frantically shouting at them. She jumped down from the end of the metal stairs and adjusted her jeans and strode towards him in a cat walk. Men had fought against him for her but he always managed to be the winner, sometimes he wonder what if he had let them win her. He shook his head and was ready to face her ranting, he lifted his gaze towards her and noticed that a snake had emerged from no where. He dropped his bag and sprinted towards Cor, not thinking twice he grabbed the snake and wrestled it to the ground. It was so huge that it instantly wriggled out of his arms.
He did his best to keep it's venomous fangs away when he heard Cor's heels crushing against something and sending splatters of blood everywhere, including his white shirt. She had stomped on what appears to be the end of the snake but instead of a tail was another head (now crushed). He then felt the tug from his arms, Cor had pulled the snake away from him. In her other hand is a metal trash bin cover, she instantly dumped the snake in it and slammed it closed. Next thing he knew she was pouring a bottle of tequila inside and threw a piece of matchstick inside. Luke stood there with question in his eyes as Cor watched the creature burn inside the metal bin.
~~~
Fire continued to devour the creature, it's other head hissed in pain as the fire took it. Cor couldn't express the joy she feels as she watched it eaten alive by the fire, she could also feel Luke standing behind her. What was happening? What are these things? As the fire died, the joy in Cordelia's heart faded. She threw the metal cover away and was about to face when a white cloud swished between them and next thing she knew, Luke was no where to be found. She rushed towards his truck to see if he was there. She was alone in the motel's parking lot. She then heard people screaming, she run towards the streets of the Bronx and saw creatures which are far more shocking than the snake they dealt with earlier.
~~~
He wanted to tell Cor to leave him alone, both of them would be better off without each other. And as he was about to put his hand on her shoulder, he felt someone approaching fast. He looked towards his right and saw a beautiful person, not knowing if it was a man or a woman, dressed in a white toga and golden cascading hair. It was smiling at him and took him into it's arms. He felt a confusing and sickening rush in his body, enough to make him weak and next thing he knew he was in a grassy part of a forest, his back on the earth. He closed his eyes, he must be dreaming.
~~~
Fires broke out in buildings, women screaming as they clutched their children closely. Men were to scared to even think of stealing from establishments and Cor knew it was entirely different this time. She rushed towards the open streets, still looking for Luke. "Where could you be asshole?!" She spoke her mind out loudly. Her white shirt was with blood from the snake but she continued to run. She should be feeling afraid but the bloody and lifeless bodies in the streets empowered her. She didn't know what was happening to her. She couldn't help it but her smile grew into a grin until she found herself laughing when a dark figure caught her eye. "Luke?!" It went inside a convenience store which Cor followed, she opened the door and saw that the lights were out. "Lucas?! Quit this shit!" She shouted as her eyes adjusted in the dark. "Where the hell are you? Let's get out of here!" She continued to talk, hoping that he'd answer back. When all of a sudden the figure stood in front of her, dark and in a hooded cloak, it's eyes filled with fire as it swept her into its arms and took her mouth into its own, taking her consciousness.
* AMPHISBAENAE (Amphisbainai) Saharan snakes with two heads, one at each end of the body.
Demetria had always been scared of sirens, they only brought trouble and fear. She rushed towards the window and opened it, students were rushing in different directions as dog like creature roamed the yard. It's fangs drooled with saliva as they barked and bit students but the most amazing thing about the dog were not it's fangs but the three heads that appeared on top of it's body. What was it that Alice called them?
"Oh crap!" Demi squealed and slammed the window closed, she ran towards Alice's stuff and found the book that she was looking for. Her room mate was a history major, she was obsessed with everything Greek. She quickly opened the booklet and went looking for the three headed dog's name. Her fingers frantically went from one page to another as her eyes looked for answers. She stopped at a page and saw the illustration of the creature she saw earlier, "Cerberus..." She muttered to herself.
"But this is fiction!" She found herself blurting out, she dumped the booklet in her back pocket and grabbed her backpack and wore her sneakers. She needs to get out of there. She was in the dorm hallway, girls rushing towards the stairs to exit the building as screams filled the heavens. They were all going towards the yard and a voice inside her head told her to go the opposite way. And before she knew it, Demi was rushing towards the flow of people and her hand had found the fire exit's door knob. She twisted it as she adjusted her backpack on her shoulders. It was quiet as oppose to what was happening outside, it was a bit dark as the emergency light blinked. Since her room was on the second level of the building she had to rush down the stairs before reaching the exit. Behind the door, was the back part of the building. It wasn't normally used so the huge dump can was located there, letting the foul smell emit from the garbage. But with moments like this, Demi couldn't care less about the smell and more for her safety and an answer as to why a monster was attacking people in the campus. She carefully rushed towards the other building, doing her best not to be seen by any monster. Next thing she knew, she had no where to go but in the open yard filled with oak trees and wisteria. It was a beautiful site for students most of time but not when they are running for their lives. Demi had no other choice but to run and take cover behind a huge oak.
She tried to calm down as she hid behind the tree, the trunk was big enough to conceal her but she knew canines like that monster had very keen sense of smell. And she was right, as she tried to peek, she saw that the Cerberus was rushing towards her. She let out a small squeal and closed her eyes, accepting her fate when she heard the monster whimping. Demi opened her eyes and tried to see what had stopped the monster.
The Cerberus tried to bite the wisteria vines off, but as much as it tried to get free of the vines, it continued to wrap around its body. The monster was wrapped with almost a hundred veins, coiling around its body. A few had started coiling around its body tightly as some around the three necks. One head growled, one head whined as one head gasped for air. The wisterias are choking it and Demi was standing beside the oak tree with her mouth hang open. She tried to rub her eyes but it was the same image as before. The wisterias are taking over. She then felt a few tugged at her skirt as a few lifted her from the ground and on top of the oak. The oak itself opened its branches and folded to create a place for her to seat. And from the top of the tree, she then took notice of winged creatures which looked like banshees flying with sharp claws, they were snatching people everywhere as the skies turned darker and the only light that brightened the earth came from thunders that rumbled.
Demi quickly pulled the booklet from her pocket and looked for the creature's name, she found a similar sketch next to the name Harpies. And as she lifted her gaze, one of them was flying directly towards her. The oak's branches quickly moved and provided her a shield as the wisteria wrapped around the Harpy. Awful cries emitted from the creature as the plants did the same thing with what had happened to the now lifeless body of the Cerberus.
She then realized that her face is now running with tears, she felt so afraid and didn't know what to do when all of a sudden a person in a white dress appeared next to her, wrapping its arms around her. It gave her a warm comfort and found herself sitting on top of grass field as the wind blew her long brown hair. "Where am I?"
It was unusual – seeing the eighteen year old male’s demeanor change from his normally zealous personality to a much colder one – but it was not uncommon. Many of Cam’s friends learned to accept the sudden change over time. Some learned not to ask questions that would go unanswered. Some, like Josh, chose to turn a blind eye. It was a phase he went through every year; it was always around the time of his birth mother’s death. His hands dug into the pockets of his khakis as his fingers rummaged through the odd trinkets hidden within. Despite his father’s efforts to counteract his kleptomaniac tendencies, Cam just couldn’t help himself when objects caught his eye. It was like people were asking for him to steal from them and he was certainly going to oblige. His step-mother insisted that he find an alternative to this but Cam saw no point in fixing what wasn’t broken. Most of the items he pickpocketed held little to no value either way. He was sure their owners wouldn’t miss them – that is, if they even noticed said item was missing in the first place. When his fingers felt the slight indentations of the metal item, Cam allowed a boyish grin to develop on his features.
Pulling the object out, his amber eyes focused on the dull coin now in the palm of his hand. It wasn’t a collectors’ coin; it was just a simple quarter. He turned his hand over and clenched his fist. Holding the coin against his knuckle with the pad of his thumb, he began to roll it across his fingers. An amused smile appeared on his features as the coin seemed to effortlessly transition from his index finger to his middle. He was in the zone…until a high pitched scream broke his concentration. The quarter hit the wooden boardwalk and Cam blinked. He was moving to pick it up when he heard an animal like hiss. Furrowing his eyebrows, he turned toward Josh and the two female tourists.
”Is something wrong?” His head tilted to the side ever so slightly. The color on their faces seemed to be drained. The hiss returned again, only this time it was followed by a chorus of hisses. He heard a loud crash from behind him as screams began to fill the air. It didn’t take long for the quaint tourist destination to become chaotic. All throughout his line of sight he noticed people frantically pushing and shoving – running away from whatever it was that caused the mass hysteria. He felt an unknown force knock him over and he landed on the ground with a thud. Grimacing at the ungraceful fall, he could hear Josh’s muffled voice in the back of his mind. He registered that he was calling to him over the crowds but it seemed so far away. He deduced that they had gotten separated with the onslaught of people and, upon further inspection, he was right.
Chairs and tables were cast aside as broken shards of glass littered the streets. All around him people were panicking; each and every one of them scrambling to get to a safer place. He could smell faint traces of blood around him and he winced. It felt as if someone was beating his head with a baseball bat. To make things worse, the damn hisses wouldn’t stop. What exactly is going on?
“Cam!” Josh’s voice was growing louder. His friend seemed to be getting closer when Cam’s blood went cold. In front of him was a woman. No. There was no way she could have been called that – not with that tail in the place of her legs! Cam noticed the glossy green scales covering the woman’s hips, the scaly pattern continuing over her serpentine tail. Exposed from the waist up, she – or it, since he really could not be sure – had raven tresses that covered her chest and ghostly pale skin. Her features were sharp; high cheekbones and heart shaped face. If it hadn’t been for the snake like tail and the blood staining her skin, Cam might have even labeled her as beautiful. Keyword: might. Her yellow eyes trailed over his body and he smirked. ”What? Like what you see?” He smirked, only the sudden pain in his right arm making his confidence falter slightly. Trust him not to take the situation seriously.
The snake woman lunged forward with fangs that dripped lethal venom and nails that were replaced with dangerously sharp claws. He muttered an expletive as he dodged the attack, surprising even himself with the amount of speed. One moment he was sitting atop a broken wooden column. The next moment he was on his feet. Cam’s body seemed to be vibrating and his eyes widened in surprise when the snake woman shoved him toward the wall. Imagine the shock when his body didn’t register the impact. Instead, he found himself within the very building he was shoved into – the wall unscathed. He grinned.
Running – or in this case, phasing – through the wall at an incredible speed, he ran directly into the snake woman. With the amount of force and power behind his attack, she crashed into the store wall across from the pair. He heard a grotesque cracking noise when she landed. Making a face when he noticed a few of the snake woman’s friends headed toward his direction, Cam groaned. He spotted Josh rushing toward them with what looked like a metal chair in his hands and he shook his hand. “Get out of here, you idiot!” The snake women, now noticing his friend’s sudden intrusion, had sadistic smiles on their faces. It’s like they have a hive mind or something. He shuddered at the thought of having to share one mind with multiple people and ran in Josh’s direction. Knocking him out of the way and making sure he stayed put, Cam turned to face the remaining monsters.
To his surprise, they were gone. In their place was a strange young boy. Wearing an immaculate white toga and having a strange glow surrounding him, Cam was forced to squint. He barely noticed that the vibrations of his body stopped as he stepped forward. ”Look kid. I don’t know what you’re doing here but you should go back to wherever you came from. Where are your parents?” The angelic boy could only smile in response as a blinding light enveloped the two of them.
Coughing and trying to regain his breath from whatever that possessed little brat had done to him, Cam no longer saw the wreckage of the boardwalk. Instead, he found himself surrounded by green fields and several other figures. “Josh is going to regret messing with my brownies.” Getting up and wiping away pieces of grass and dirt that had landed on his clothes, he pulled out his cell phone. No service. This day could not get any worse.
Alaric breathed in deeply as the offshore wind blow past him and frowned. The smell of the ocean had never failed to refresh and renergize him, but there was something wrong about the breeze this time. Alongside the ocean scent was the faintest smell of a foul odor, almost like that of rotting fish. But before Alaric could place the scent, the brewing storm finally broke as lightning raced across the sky and the clouds split open to unleashed a torrent of rain. As Alaric was getting ready to call his patrols back in, he saw something on the horizon that stopped him short. There appeared to be a school of a dozen or so small grotesquely shaped whales heading towards the beach at impossibly fast speeds. Alaric instantly knew that they were the source of the foul smell on the wind and instinctively understood their malicious intent.
By the time Alaric had descended the tower and warned his fellow lifeguards, the school of ketos* had covered half the distance to the shore, easily jumping the barrier meant to keep out regular sharks. Distant screams could be heard as small sailing vessels in their path were smashed apart and their occupants flung into the ocean. Alaric pushed past screaming beach goers and lifeguards as they tried to evacuate the beach. He didn't understand why he wasn't running away with them, was he going to try and stop these monsters? That's insanity! He didn't even know what matter of creatures these hellish looking beasts were. But his body continued to move forward, almost out of its own will, and he understood--though he didn't know where that knowledge came from--that if he did not try to slow these monsters down, no one will escape the beach alive.
Almost before Alaric reached the shoreline, the storm surge the ketos were driving before them smashed into him, and he was flung off his feet as the currents took him. Alaric fought to stay upright in the water as he was shaken like a rag doll, and his head throbbed painfully in time with his heartbeats. Just as he thought he would faint, the ketos were upon him. Rows upon rows of jagged teeth from massive jaws snapped at him from all direction in the water. One of the tooth raked across Alaric's shin as it passed by. Alaric opened his mouth in a silent scream of pain and water rushed in to fill it, but the moment his blood mingled with the seawater, Alaric's mind cleared and he could sense where the ketos were lurking in the water as he felt new strength coursing through his body. It was similar to the swimmers high that he often got but much, much stronger.
The ketos could also feel the power radiating from Alaric and became even more aggressive. But this time, Alaric moved with the currents and was able to successfully dodge the serrated teeth and grab a hold of the dorsal fin of one of the beasts. As the ketea thrashed in the water, trying to dislodge the young man, Alaric plunged his fingers deep into the monster's eye. The flesh parted easily and Alaric repeatedly stabbed into the ketea and dug deeper and deeper until it stopped moving. Alaric struggled away as the remaining ketos moved in to devour their fallen brethren in mindless hunger. Alaric felt his strength sagging as he crawled up to the surface of the water and collapsed on the beach. All of pain and exhaustion came rushing back as he left the water. 'At least', Alaric thought, 'my friends had enough time to escape' and felt someone gently pick him up before the world turned dark.
*ketos: Greek sea monsters resembling whales or giant sharks. Ketea is the singular.
"I didn't...how did I?" All she wanted to do was make him explode, but something came over her(Hades Power) and she did that instead. She ran and she made it downtown which was filled with dead bodies and Harpys. She looked around and saw a Harpy feeding on a young woman. She quickly looked away and searched for a weapon. She spotted a broken a pole and picked it up. She ran towards and Harpy and stabbed the pole through it. It screeched loudly which got a bunch of Harpys attention. That Harpy died, but the other ones were pissed. She took off again into a building and the Harpy's followed.
Olivia ran all the way upstairs thinking there would be a way out, but of course there wouldn't be. She ran into a room and shut the door. "Okay I need to think. These are Greek mythology creatures. I need to fight greek with greek." She thought about how she could summon a greek beast, but that would ware her out. At the moment that was her only decision. She sat down Indian style and said. "Κέρβερος[i](Cerberus.) When she said that the Cerberus appeared in the room she was in and she was happy. She stood up and almost fell down. The dog caught her and ran her out of the room. Most creatures were afraid of Hades' prized procession, but again these ones wanted her dead.
The dog fought off a number out the beast and killed most of the Harpys in the building. She was slowly gaining strength, but not enough to help. She can't summon beasts this big often or she would weaken herself. The dog was hurt, but he ran out of the building and ran father into town. '[i]When will this end'
Birds flocked around the fenced-in area. Sparrows hopped over the inauthentic broken cobblestones, pigeons pecking at crumbs in the street. Suddenly, in unison, they rose from the ground. The sudden flight startled some guests, and Emma busied herself in mopping up a partially spilled drink. She felt a hand on her shoulder, groping, and waved it off. Hardly uncommon. Those shoulders, these hips.. they had been touched by many-a-hand, admired by many more. The sky broiled in the distance, and she squinted towards the horizon. There was movement; hardly uncommon in New York.
And yet, when the sky shattered, roars echoing across the expansive building, the regular citygoers gasped in alarm. Emma hurried inside the store, pretending to be busy with a check, her hands imitating a fumble. She ducked further into the store, into safety. Frightened bodies followed suit, and she could hear Darren, the manager, shouting in alarm, trying to calm the customers.
She stood back, leaning against the wall, and passively watched the situation unfold. Surely this wasn't what father had in mind when he encouraged her to work through school.
Kyle was lounging lazily on the roof of his house, listening to his headphones. He was lying back, arms behind his head, eyes closed, just listening.
It might surprise people to hear some of the stuff he enjoys listening to. He enjoys jazz, classical, rock, country, even the old bluegrass song. He hasn't really found too much rap that he enjoys, but really once you've heard one rap song you've heard them all.
Anyways... He loves all kinds of music. He could lie on the roof all day with his ipod and be perfectly content. He isn't sure why he loves music so much, but it's one of the few things in life that he could never give up. Music and being out in the sun, two things he couldn't live without.
As an angry rock song came on and he bobbed his head a bit, he found it oddly right. It was strange that the moment his thoughts turned a bit dark the music did too.
He was just thinking that a lot of people thought he was shallow and perverted. And okay, maybe he would admit to being a little lusty, but shallow? Just because he's good-looking and confident in that, that doesn't make him shallow. Everyone at school assumes he's about as deep as a puddle, but he could surprise them. Not that anyone ever really tried to understand him at all anyways. The only people that showed any interest in him at all always turned their interests sexually. He was only eighteen! How could he say no?
His parents had never turned sexual with him, thank what ever gods were out there! He wouldn't have been able to handle that. But regardless, his parents were Mr. and Mrs. Boring was Lame-ville. Their idea of a good time was family game night, which was fun when he was a little boy but eighteen? No way.
Was it too much to ask for people to actually see him and enjoy his company without having sex involved? He didn't have any real friends, at all, not connecting with anyone around. He has just never felt like he belonged there, which is why he always ended up on the roof by himself.
The closer he got to the sky the better he felt. The more... connected he felt. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to be feeling connected to, but whatever the reason, being elavated above the ground and closer to the sun felt right.
The angry song ended and a soothing jazz piece began playing. He felt a lot better.
That is, until a shadow fell over him and he could no longer feel the sun's warmth. The song on his ipod changed instantly to a suspenseful composition piece but some foreign orchestra. He sat up and looked around, deeming the song incredibly accurate.
"What in the world?" he mumbled. The sky was black and large bolts of red lightning were striking down. He heard screaming from down the road, near the park, where he saw strange shapes chasing people around. But he was too far away to get any clear views... until the odd shapes began heading this way. The odd shapes quickly became monsters that he had only ever seen in old books and paintings.
The song changed on his ipod again, and he was vaguely aware of the theme from Saw when something heavy landed the roof behind him.
He was pretty sure that he didn't want to turn around, but something inside him ignored his brain completely and turned around anyway. It was a woman, but not the good kind. She had large talons on bird feet and huge, ugly wings and crazy hair. He vaguely recognized the description from some mythology book he must have read for school, but he couldn't think of it's name.
The bird-woman opened her mouth and screamed, an awful, ear-splitting scream, before she jumped at him. He managed to roll with her momentum and throw her off, reflexes and adrenaline being his only explanation for his sudden ninja moves. The bird-woman wasn't put off for long though, she lunged at him again, claws extended to take a serious chunk out of him. And he did feel the sharp talons clip him a bit, but he ignored the pain and felt the weirdest urge to grab her face in his hands; he did because maybe he had some other Jackie Chan moves that he didn't know about.
But there were no other ninja moves. When he grabbed her face she stilled and looked at him oddly. He felt his hands grow warm and something made the bird-woman smile. She nuzzled his hands as they grew warmer. It was kind of creeping him out. What was going on? But then she frowned, and his hands were growing warmer, becoming hot. His fingertips started glowing, a white-ish light, which moved down the digits and became his entire hands glowing. When the glowing reached his forearms the woman screamed, like before but it didn't hurt his ears this time.
He had no idea what he was doing but it seemed painful. After a few more seconds, painful sores began to appeard on the woman's body. She was still screaming. She started to look a little green, like she might throw up, but before that could happen the same light that was still creeping up his arms shown through her eyes and mouth and she fell limp and silent. He didn't need to know what she was to tell that she was dead.
Not even thinking about it, he jumped from the roof. Maybe, if he hadn't just killed an ugly bird-woman, he would have thought that jumping off the roof was wrong, that he shouldn't have done that. He also might have noticed that he barely even felt the impact as he landed almost gracefully on his feet. He didn't even think about it because he was worried about his parents.
He couldn't find them.
He was prepared to run out of the house and search the entire monster-infested city, but before he could some guy appeared before him. He was momentarily distracted by the beauty and forgot about everything else. He almost didn't notice the scene change, but landing rather painfully on his back shook him out of his stupor.
He looked around the green fields and noitced others looking just as confused.
What in the world was going on!?
(Sorry it took so long)
"Fuck! I'm in heaven?" She blurted, the force making her wince once more. Not exactly how she imagined heaven would look like. Where are the clouds and the angels? Or is she in mental institution? Cor then started wandering around and looking for the source of the sounds she heard earlier, there must be a way out. She needs to find Luke fast. She can't lose him.
"Hello?! Anybody?!" She called out. Cor also noticed that her voice didn't emit any echo which only proves her theory that there are no limits to where she was. She then started to feel her shoulder relaxing, the pain slowly decreasing. The thirst in her throat was slowly pacified as well. She was starting to fell better than ever when her ears start to catch the sound of footsteps again. She roamed her look around but she was still alone. She tried calling out again, "Hello?! Who are you?! HELLOOOOOOO!!!!" Louder this time she started walking towards the north (or supposedly where she was facing).
A swift black shape suddenly whizzed by her left side, making her turn and pause. "What the?!" It then started whizzing past her right from behind her. "Shit!!!" As much as she tried being brave, the hair on her body started rising. She started looking for anything she can use as a weapon but there was nothing except for her blood stained clothes and shoes. So Cor decided to remove her stilettos, arming each of her hand with it's pointy heels and did a fighting stance when she heard a soft and calming voice, "Calm my child..."
"Huh?!", Cor followed the voice but as much as she tried, she couldn't. She was growing weaker again. The thirst in her throat was killing her. She choked and coughed.
"It is you my child... Be calm and open your eyes... Open everything that feeds your curiousity... Open... Open everything..." The voice slowly and softly called out as if the owner of the voice was just by her side and whispering in her ears. Then the sound of water dripping started growing louder and as soon as Cor turned around a small fountain made of mother of pearl shells was dripping with golden hued water. It wasn't yellow nor was it water with food coloring, it was gold. Cor dropped her shoes immediately and rushed towards the source of liquid. She cupped her hands and started drinking, not caring in the world if it could kill her. She just wanted to drink and drink and drink...
Her clothes were almost wet, the blood stains washing away, leaving Cor cleaner without her realizing. Once her thirst was quenched, she let her body drop on the white bottom as she grew drowsey, she tried to fight the sleepiness off but she just grew weaker. Until she fell asleep.
~~~~~~~
It felt like eternity until Cor woke up from her dream. If it was really a dream then she doesn't know what was happening to her now. She just found herself under a large tree, her back on it's roots. She looked up to see a magical fruit that reminded her of the golden liquid she consumed in her "dream". She was underneath a peculiar kind of apple tree, for it's fruit color was in the shade of gold. A couple dropped on her lap, creating a flopping sound. She picked one up as she the hunger in her stomach protested her slowness but something in her stopped her from consuming it. A few more dropped on her lap as if the tree was doing it on purpose for the fruits to land on her. Soon she had about a dozen of the golden fruit. She didn't know what to do with it but she gathered them up her arms as she stood up. Realizing she was in a forest, she looked around and suddenly heard a voice. Shouting about a farm, a farm and a girl named Liza. She hurriedly followed the voice to see a few people on their back and on the grass fields, including Luke while the owner of the voice started growing horns on his head, "What the?!"
So Cor wasn't really dreaming at all.

Andras felt calmed by his words, though very skeptical and disbelief, "Excuse me, Ganymede, but if what you say is true then what do we have to do with all of this?" Ganymede looked at him with such a joyous face, as if he was looking on a long lost friend. Ganymede explained, "18 years ago a alter-dimensional threat attacked Olympus alongside the Titans, they were the Roman Gods. Equivalent to the Olympians only driven mad with power, they inevitably destroyed them." His tone and look became sad and sorrowful, "Zeus gave to me a golden feather, to one day find you all when the threat came to Earth, you are all the incarnates of the Gods. Both mortal and immortal, both human and Olympian." Looking at Andras he said, "And you are the incarnate of Zeus." Andras was very shocked at this, he sat on a rock looking at his feet and thinking it all over, while he sat there the Immortal youth walked to each person individually, telling them which God was inside of them.
"You have Artemis inside of you," he said, smiling at her. Or...maybe he was smirking? He opened his mouth to add someting, but hesitated, and finally shook his head, moving on without another word. Artemis...goddess of the moon, Rae knew that much. But something was telling her it was much more than that, goddess of the hunt, wilderness, wild animals, childbirth, and..virginity. It made Rae blush, just thinking about it. To get herself off of that mental track, she looked at the scenery, studiously ignoring the others, still trying to come to grips with this weirdness. She almost thought it was a dream, but surely even her dreaming mind could not conjure something so...strange. And yet...she pinched herself curiously, and felt pain, and knew that this was real, and worse, it must be true. Nothing else could explain the strange circumstances she found herself in.
And just as Demi thought everything was turning out okay, a guy around the same age but dressed differently started shouting but was stopped by another guy just in time for the figure who had "kidnapped" her to appear out of thin hair. He spoke about the reason why they were taken and Demi thought she had gone crazy when the man who called his self Ganymede strode towards her after. He smiled and closed his eyes as he muttered a name, "Demeter..."
"Huh?" A frazzled look appeared in Demi's face, confused by what he had mentioned. It was Alice who was fond of these things, not her! So why is she here, she's no God.
"Demeter was a peace-loving deity and the source of all growth and life; she was the goddess who provided all nutrition on the earth and taught mortals how to cultivate the earth and ease life. Demeter was most appreciated for introducing wheat to mankind, making man different from animals..." This time Ganymede opened his eyes and explained. "You are her Champion..." he offered Demi and leaving her confused.
It explains everything, from the Wisteria to the Oak tree and the wild flowers earlier. But if she is a champion then why does she feel scared? Demi's lips quivered as she slowly sat back down the grass, hugging her knees while her left hand clutched the heirloom necklace she had on her neck as tears started brimming in her eyes, ready to fall any moment. She wants to go home.
~~~~~~~
"Luke!" Cor shouted, trying to balance the golden apples in her arms as she rushed towards her ex boyfriend. No longer disturbed by the boy who grew horns.
Luke turned his head just in time to see Cordelia with what looked like a bunch of golden fruit. She was cleaner than he had last seen her, the trace of snake blood was no where to be seen unlike the way he looked. She looked beautiful and inviting but he knew he had enough of her. He clenched his fist and shook his head, just when he thought he had lost her behind.
"What are you doing here?!" Instead of asking if she was okay, he sounded like a complaining customer. "What are those?!" He gestured towards her arm load.
"Luke! Thank goodness you're here! I- I was just-" She lifted her arms to show look the golden fruits when she was interrupted by a blinding light as a man (or was it a woman?) appeared out of nowhere and wearing what looked like an ancient Greek robe. He introduced his self to everyone, approaching each and everyone and telling them which Greek God they were connected to. As soon as he left a girl who had apparently look like she's having a breakdown, Ganymede walked (more of floated) towards Luke.
But unlike the rest, he wasn't smiling when he approached the boy. His face grew stern and hard as he looked at Luke from head to toe then raised a queer eyebrow when he noticed that Cordelia was behind him. "Ahhh... the ever obsession of Ares and Eris..." He spoke coldly, still without a welcoming look on his face.
"What the fuck are you talking about?!" Cor reprimanded pretty boy. She was getting pissed at the way he scrutinized their looks. So okay, she dressed like she's going to a night club- but who knew the world will be ending today?!
"The Goddess of Discord never failed to follow the God of War. If I were you I'd be careful," Ganymede left them with a cold expression and eased off towards another person. Leaving Cordelia pissed, she was about to throw one of the apples towards the Greek when Luke held her hand and gave her a frown. "Look Cor, can you just go back home?" He released a frustrated sigh as his grip became tighter. He was obviously just as pissed at her.
She stood shocked as the apple fell from her hand and so did the others from her left arm. "Do you fucking know where we are?!" She wanted to kick him, it isn't like she knew her way back home. "Do you think I wanted this?! Being attacked and seeing things that a mental patient would experience?!"
"I never asked you to come!!!" Luke's voice grew louder and harsher, letting go of her wrist and pushing Cordelia away. Too strong this time that she fell on the grass with an anger that matched his.
"I told you to get away from me!" He glowered at her, doing his best to control his anger. If what Ganymede said was true, could he really be the champion of the God of War. Is it the reason why he always gets into fight and leaving it unscathed?
Cordelia tried to stand up from her fall, but it looked like it was worse than before. Her hips ached as dirt covered her legs and arms. She was surrounded by the Golden Apples that still looked fresh and inviting for everyone to eat. Who is Eris, and what does the revelation have to do with the place she had been to before?
Turning his body ever so slightly to pinpoint the source, his eyes focused on a frantic youth that raged on about nonsense. He had no intention of consoling him. Instead, Cam found himself attempting to reign in the sudden urge to throw a rock at him – or his now useless cell phone, that would work too. As he calculated the amount of force required for an object to hit the nameless screamer directly where the sun didn’t shine, a yell interrupted his train of thought and he nearly jumped in surprise. Cam hadn’t expected a voice to hold so much power – so much authority – and he tried to process why he had reacted in such a way. He had always been someone who held his ground in the face of supervisors and those that believed they held power over him. Why was this so different?
He shook his head and tried to dispel all thoughts of unease that seemed to be increasing as the minutes passed on. Cam was not at all pleased with the situation. He momentarily contemplated running off but thought better of it. It wouldn’t do him any good to be lost in an unfamiliar place, especially without any means of contact. He grumbled his discontent and crossed his arms almost childishly. A light hearted chuckle reached his ears and he raised an eyebrow – trying to mask the surprise he was feeling. When did he get in front of me? The angelic young boy gave him a smile but Cam didn’t return the sentiment. He found himself glaring at the golden haired youth, very much annoyed that someone had snuck up on him without him realizing. “You seemed much fonder of me in your past life, Hermes.” His glare stayed put. What game was this kid playing?
After a momentary silence, Ganymede – so he did have a name – started to explain just what circumstances led him, as well as the others, to this very point in time. His mind had only just begun to process the information when Ganymede spoke again about Hades’ champion. Cam could only nod his head in brief acknowledgement as his words began to sink in. Wait, no. They couldn’t sink in. This was highly impossible; even despite all that had happened hours earlier. What he had been told was pure fiction – tales strung together in books that were read for enjoyment only. This doesn’t happen in real life. So why was there a voice in the back of his mind insisting it was true?
Cam’s internal struggle was bound to give him an inevitable headache. As he ran his fingers through his tousled hair, he let out a sigh and watched quietly as a white haired teenager stepped between a bickering couple. “And if we don’t?” Cam questioned as he moved forward and stood beside the three. Holding out his arm with the intention of helping the raven haired girl stand, he looked between the two males and frowned. “Look around. No one is exactly the picture of calm and collected.”
"What is this place?" She asked.
She didn't want to draw attention to herself, but knowing where she was and why this was happening should be given questions. The guy that brought her here stood before them.
Okay... Had he somehow taken an acid trip? Seriously. Did someone spike the air or something?
What!?
Apollo... the Greek sun god, was a part of him? He was Apollo?
He racked his brain for everything he knew about Apollo. God of the sun, handsome, strong, loves music, lo-
Oh god... That sounded just like him! The sun god bit notwithstanding. He was handsome and strong. He loved music, all music; he can even sing. And the sun does make him feel better... Okay... So maybe he could believe this. But so what? He was expected to drop everything and what? Save the world? And he was supposed to be calm and collected about it? He agreed with the guy that threw the opposing thoughts out. Not a single one of them looked like they were taking the situation very all. He knew he didn't look all that great himself; heck, he had killed a bird-woman by just touching her face. How was he supposed to be calm and collected about that?
He decided that maybe it would be best to listen and see where things went from there.
She stayed seated in silence letting her mind fill with information. She shifted through it thinking about all the greek gods and legends. "I know... This sound half-way crazy but I honestly believe Ganymede... Not sure why... But I do..." She was pretty sure NO ONE was paying attention but she decided to put her word out there. Not that it mattered to anyone. Abby stood up and walked past one boy who was back sassing Zeus champion over to the girl who was on the brink of tears and smiled. "Calm down will ya?" She grinned. "Demeter's champion...Explains why these plants are fawning over you..." She helped the girl to her feet and smiled. "Now would everyone just calm down...Rage and Back-Sassing like a bunch of CHILDREN." She gave a sharp stare. "Will not solve anything...It will simply cloud judgement...Now please everyone just calm down for a second... No one's happy or calm but just take a moment to breathe before going at each others throats... Besides... I have a feeling were going to have to work together."
Abby wasn't sure what made her stand up and speak. She was normally kinda shy. Maybe it was a motherly type instinct kicking in. Athena was quite kind and motherly so it did make sense. Abby wasn't sure... Maybe she simply found that standing up and saying her piece was needed. She smiled at Demeter's champion feeling sorrow that the poor girl was on the verge of tears. Abby really just wanted to be useful and help...
