Introduction
Your whole life you've lived in secrecy, keeping your true existance hidden from everyone but your family. In modern society, you've had to do your best to fit in, and be accepted as a normal person. However, you're not a normal person.. You are a creature that has remained unknown. Some believe in your existance, others do not. And although you feel alone, you're soon to discover how wrong you are.
Saturday morning, 9th of April, you find a letter addressed to you. When you open it, you are shocked at what it reads...
Dear Recipient
We have been watching you for a long time, and we know exactly what you are. Don't let this worry you, we're not a threat to you, and this letter should not be taken as such. We have invited you to attend the Darkened Light Academy, a place where your identity will not only stay safe, but also, you can meet others like you. You are not alone on this Earth, and we want you to know that. You are one of two thousand that has been selected for this great honour. Unfortunately, we are not able to give you a choice in this matter, as your true identity must remain a secret, and so if you do not co-operate, certain measures will be taken. We hope to see you soon.
Transport to the Academy will be provided at the local docks, Tomorrow at 7:00AM.
Yours Faithfully
The Government
The next morning, you arrive at the dock on time, and see almost a hundred people around your age boarding a large ship. You guess this must be happening all over the world, as not all two thousand people could have been this local to you. You board the ship, and begin your journey.. to the Island of Light..

The Story
Welcome to the Darkened Light Academy Roleplay. Although, as I already confessed to knowing, highschool roleplays are badly overdone, I still think that they are liked by a lot of people, and I thought I could put my own twist into one. The story of this roleplay, is that you are not a normal Human, meaning you can be any mythical or fabled creaturem or have some sort of power. However, you have been living in modern society, so make sure you will have had an excuse for being slightly odd in appearance if needs be. The Government has more or less forced you to attend an academy on an island named the 'Island of Light', and everyone has their own opinion on why.
The true reason, however, is that secretly the Government wants to pick out a select few students, and make them into an special forces branch for the army, watching and analysing every student carefully. This won't play a huge part straight away however, so for now, just think of it as a school roleplay with the chance to be something weird and/or wonderful!

As the last of the ships arrive at the Island of Light docks, the sun is just begining to rise over the sea, and the beautiful landscape of the island is breathtaking. The dock is filled with hundreds of people, and the atmosphere is full of exitement and giddyness. The students are not alone, a group of people who look like the FBI agents you see in some crime drama are scattered around the nearby area, watching over the arrivals. No one is able to see the Academy from here, as a slight upward slope severes the line of sight from the docks. The island has a city just infront of the campus, filled with shops and places to eat. This rests just before the campus, and behind the campus, is a large forested area. Boys and Girls dorms are in place in the campus also.
Back at the docks, a well built man, looking almost as if he has fought wars everyday of his life steps up on a piece of staging, carrying a bullhorn in his hand. "OK! Quieten Down!" the mans voice is rough and sharp like broken glass, his words filled with intimidation. "You can all consider this your assembly.. First off, Rules." The man paces the surface of the staging and looks over the hundreds of faces that stare back. "One, You will be out of the city and in the campus by 12o'clock if your under 18.. anyone caught breaking this rule, will be dealt with. Two, you are responsible for your powers and abilities.. If you use them abusively, we will take action. Three, do not attack any of the staff for any reason, we will take this very seriously.. And finally, we do not allow the use of narcotics.. If you are found out, you will be dealt with seriously." The man glares out over the faces once again.
"Now.. There are two boys dorms, and two girls dorms.. The boys dorms are B1 and B2, and the girls are G1 and G2. You will all be given a room number that will look something like this," The man points at a large sign behind him that reads, "64-G2" and continues to speak. "This will direct you to your dorms. Chances are you will have a room mate.. try to get on with them. If you cannot get on with your room mate for any reason.. Deal with it." The man looks at his watch before looking back to the crowd. "You lesson timetables will be given to you tomorrow.. So spend today exploaring and finding your feet.. You will now all be given a map of the Island. The zones that are marked in red are prohibited, and if you try to go there for fun, our armed watch towers might see you as a threat..." the crowd stiffens for a moment, looking at one another. "Ok.. Now go. Collect your room numbers and maps at the gate, and don't worry about your luggage, it will be moved to your room by our staff."
The man leave the stage and disappears into a nearby building, leaving the students to begin their lives on the Island of Light.

As the man walked off the stage Chloe made her move. "Excuse me." She mumbled darting through people, making her way towards the front of the room. "Sorry, excuse me." She said again accidentally bumping into someone. "Pardon me, désolé, scusa, sentimos, gomen." The apologies came out in four other languages than English. Not that she new anything other than a bit of French and English. She just didn't want to offend anyone who might not speak English. Pupils dilated in her green eyes she stopped in front of one of the staff members. Head down, a little out of breath, Chloe felt like she was placing the last nail in her coffin with her words. "Excuse me, but could you tell me my dorm number? My name is Chloe L. Gardner." She didn't ask about who her roommate was, or if she even had one. Just the room number.
"You seem a little antsy Chloe." The staff member said and began to flick down a list of names reading them off silently before stopping at Chloe's name. "Ah here you are. You will be in room number 18-G1. Can you remember that?" Chloe nodded, all of her worry pushing out at once. Had anyone been watching they would have seen Chloe's shoulders drop in happiness. Pulling on a big smile Chloe thanked the staff member and walked away. She would now be able to breathe easily, not to mention actually take in her surroundings.
"Well, there is more people here than I expected." She commented to herself, a big smile still on her face. She had an even number.

He explained their rooms and rules. They had a curfew? That didn't work for Aaron. For god sakes, he was a werewolf. If they really expected him to stay in campus while he was in werewolf form, they had another thing coming. Aaron turned eighteen in two weeks, but that wasn't soon enough. He'd have to break the rules for a little bit. Maybe there were other werewolves that could help out when he asked to break curfew.
Aaron walked up to one of the staff after the large man finished talking. "Aaron Sheeder," he said to the man in front of him, holding a clipboard with all their names on it. The man found it after a minute and then handed him a card.
"94-B2," said the man with a monotone voice.
"Thanks," said Aaron. He rolled his eyes at the man's sort of pissed-off voice. Aaron walked forward through the crowd, until he was finally free to walk without having to move out of the way of somebody. He decided he'd head to his room instead of roaming around town. He had to unpack anyways, so he could go into town later. Hopefully his roommate was alright, and just as weird as Aaron.

Walking through town, Surma saw many things that caught his eye. There were shops everywhere, music shops, food places, this place seemed to have everything. He didn't let himself get distracted though, he would need to unpack before he did anything else. Surma slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette and his solid silver zippo lighter, lighting it up quietly and taking a drag. Smoking was one of his only comforts in life, and even though he'd constantly have people preaching to him about how it was bad for him, he couldn't care less. He let out a small whispy breath that released the smoke, sighing as he continued to walk up the street, before he was confronted with a road that was quite steep.
Surma didn't think about it, and simply walked up, shocked at what he saw at the top. The campus was huge, and must have covered a large part of the island. The building itself looked amazing, beautifully build and welcoming. He entered the building and followed the signs to the dorms, hoping he wouldn't get lost along the way. I hope it's in here.. If they broke it I swear.. Surma thought to himself as he reached his dorm room, and ran the card through the wall panel. Trust the government to be all fancy and high tech.. he stepped into his room, seeing immidiately two beds, one of which a guitar case was propped against. Surma grinned and opened it up, seeing his beautifully polished black and red guitar, sitting intact. "Well.. Welcome home Surma.."

Slipping out one of the side doors Chloe looked around. She had a map of the landscape yes, but she was terrible at reading maps. Sometimes it was best just to do things the natural way. Chloe by all means refused to get herself lost, so with a kind smile she stepped up to the nearest tree. "I need some help, anyone care to do that?" Chloe asked softly her eyes raking through the leaves of the tree to find what she was looking for. Within moments a fuzzy head popped up amongst all the bark. A pair of brown eyes staring at Chloe in awe. Most of the time she got this reaction, not all animals realized that some people could talk to them. Then again who could blame them, it wasn't everyday that an elf walked up to a squirrel and began a conversation. "Aren't you a cute little guy?" Chloe asked as the squirrel shimmied down the tree further to get a closer look at her. "Want to help me find the dorms? Where all the people sleep?" She asked him.
Humming happily to herself, with the squirrel who wouldn't stop talking and lavishing over her on her shoulder, Chloe made her way towards the dorms. A few people, nameless faces she didn't take notice of, passed by her on her way. The grounds certainly are lovely. I can already see myself spending more time outside than anything. Maybe I can even do my homework outside, under the shade of a lovely tree. Chloe smiled at her own thoughts. The blatherings of the squirrel were like mindless echos in her ear. Stopping up short in front of the building Chloe looked at the squirrel. "Thank you for bringing me here. I need to go in alone but make sure to come and visit real soon." Chloe said and let the squirrel drop from her shoulder.
With the number 18 imprinted into her mind, and a Cardkey in her hand Chloe walked up to her room. She didn't expect to find anyone in there but, stranger things had happened to her. Her only thoughts at the moment were on her Itouch, and how much she wanted to get back outside to scamper up in some trees whilst listening to a steady beat in her ear.

After finally pushing through the crowd he looked over a scrawny man with rather peculiar glasses. Keran spoke with quite a loud and proud tone of voice. “Hey the names Keran Angelsmith. Do you happen to know where the dorms are, or where I can find my roommate?” The man looked down at his clip board and flicked through the pages of names. He pushed his glasses back up as he looked over the corresponding page. “Kevin, Kat-Man...Ah! Here you are Keran. You will be in room 91-B2. As for your roommate I am guessing he will be in the dorm packing up, or still in the crowd and searching around for someone like me to allocate him too his dorm.” The man passed over a key card over too Keran with his pale white hands. “This will give you access to the dorm.”
Keran simply nodded along after hearing which room he was in, that is until the key card was passed his way. He looked down to it and grabbed it slowly before looking back to the man and nodding, even though he had no clue what he was going to do with it. He slowly walked away with his sheathed sword placed behind him as he walked away. He had to hide it so they didn’t remove it from him. He snickered lightly as he walked away from the area where the men and women seemed to love to be around.
As he walked upon the path he looked around the surrounding area, simply amazed at the sight of the island, he slowly bit his lower lip, unable to contain his excitement he let out a small yell of joy before striding off, that is until he smacked his head against something hard, not looking forwards at the time. Slowly he placed his hand to his head and let out a small moan. His eyes reached the object that hit him soon enough. It was that of a cross road indicator, with pointers at either side of the wooden post, the metallic painting upon the wooden post formed words.
Keran slowly muttered such words. “Market, Boys dorm one, Boys dorm...” And without another word he ran off in the direction of ‘Boys dorm two’. He couldn’t wait to meet his roommate in fact he was overjoyed by the sure pleasure. As he reached the area he attempted to open the door, however the door would not budge. He slowly looked at his key card and looked at the key card slot, knowing what to do now. He did what he assumed was right, this was smashing his body against the door with blatant disregard for anyone nearby.

Watching the boy, Surma let his eyes analyse him, taking in his appearance and presence. He seemed like a happy sort of guy, yet maybe a little slow, though this was only based upon the fact that he'd just thrown himself randomly into a door. "Are.. you my room mate?" Surma raised an eyebrow and watched the boys reaction, taking a moment to collect himself and slip the blade back into his pocket. "I'm Surma Armastus, nice to meet you.. And that's a card reader.. you do this see?" Surma swiped his card through it as an example, then moved out of the doorway so that he could enter. "I guess we're gunna be room mates for the next year.. So I just wanna get a few things straight.. See this..?" He pointed at a 'No Smoking' sign on the wall, then ripped it off, "I really like smoking.. in fact it's all I like. So if you can deal with that, I'll be able to deal with any weird things you might do or like ok?" Surma rubbed his chin before opening the window that was on the wall between their beds, "And I like the cold.. so the combination will be good. Open window and Smoking. I hope you don't have any problems with this.. because if you do, we're probably just gunna get off to a bad start, and I don't think either of us want that.. right?"
Surma walked to the door and pushed it shut, turning to the boy and shrugging, "And you are?"

He eyes the boys hands as he showed him the key card and how to use it. Oh! Thats what the card is for, how silly of me. He nodded along as he listened to Surma's speach about smoking. "Well that will work great then. As long as none of that crap goes down my throat, we'll be fine." He eyed the windows as Surma opened them and he couldn't help but smile, it gave him a reason to be near a window if he came back from his flights.
As Surma spoke the words "And you are?" He stumbled over too him and lifted out a hand to shake with the boys. "My name is Keran, Keran Angelsmith." He nodded slowly and threw his sword to the bed, allowing it to lay there as he looked over Surma. He spoke in quite a warm manner now. "So Surma. Do you want to go out later, we would have a blast. How about it?" His eyes shifted over Surma's body as he looked over him, searching for any new mannerisms he would have to get used to whilst he lived with him.

Unzipping her bag she began to rifle through it. "Not to overload you with information or anything, but why exactly did you put that cat under your sweat shirt? I'm not allergic to them if that's what you were wondering. In fact I can talk to them, part of being an elf. Listen to me ramble, really I do talk to me." Pulling out her Itouch Chloe smirked. She felt accomplished in finding the electronic. It the most updated piece of equipment, but it was 32 gigs, and Chloe really only used it to listen to music so it served it's purpose. Perching on the edge of her bed Chloe also pulled out a box of Cheezits. Opening them she took a few and popped them into her mouth before looking up at the girl expectedly. Her green eyes were happy and innocent, waiting for some information to be shared with her.

"Uhh, hi. I-I'm Autumn Locke." She gave a scared smile.
The staff member checked down the list until he came across her name, he looked back up at her. "You're in room 13-G1. Here is your cardkey, keep it safe." She took the cardkey and nodded her thanks.
She picked up her suitcase and slowly walked to the campus, taking in the beautiful surrounding area as she did. After a while of walking, she reached her dorm building and hurridly went inside. Glancing about, she saw that no one seemed to be in the corridor, she sighed with relief, no one to talk to straight away. She reached her door and swiped the cardkey, the door unlocked and she pushed it open. Walking inside, she closed the door behind her. Seeing that no one was in there, she placed her suitcase on one of the beds and swiftly started unpacking.
Once she was done, she pushed the empty suitcase under her bed and sat on top of the covers with her notebook and pen. She flick through the pages until she got to the one she was working on. Chewing on the pen for a few minutes before inspiration hit her and she started to scribble down ideas. Her writing was neat and curvy even though she was writing quickly. Every so often, she stopped to look at the door, wondering when her room mate would arrive, that was, if she even had one.

"Nuriel Gonzales, Nephilim?" asked the man.
"It's Noo-Ree-ell, not nyu-reel., and yes."Said Nuriel. the man grunted and gave him his card key.
He accepted the key and walked up the brigde. He followed until he reached his room, 13-G2. He opened the door and saw no one inside. he dropped his backpak on the floor and picked his bed.
lets see who else is lucky enough to get chosen for this. he thought to himself.
He walked to the adjoining door that connected him to the room next door, 13-G1.
He lifted his hand and knocked the door.

After a while, Surma saw a large oak tree, not to far away from the academy's entrance. There were a few benches nearby, but he walked to the tree and simply sat beneath it, taking out his guitar slowly and holding it in his hands, looking over it with a slight smile. "It's been a long time coming.." Surma spoke aloud as he took out his wallet and produced a small black pick, placing it between his fingers and slowly strumming the guitar. He closed his eyes softly as he began to play beautiful music that filled the air and began to relax his body. Surma stopped playing for a moment and began to play Wonderwall by Oasis, singing in his suprisingly well toned voice. "Today.. is gunna be the day that their gunna throw it back to you.. By now you should have somehow realised what ya gotta do.. I don't believe that anybody, feels the way I do.. About you know.."
Surma continued to play and sing, the sounds filling the atmosphere around him.

After he had finished his packing he stared out at the window, just gazing for a while before biting his lip and shaking his head slowly, he so desperately wanted to use his wings, to fly. The only time Keran felt truly free was when he was in mid-flight, he simply loved the feeling of air flowing with his wings and giving him the strength to choose which direction he could. Slowly he steps away from the window and moves towards the door effectively exiting his dorm and closing the door behind him. He strides in a quick but indecisive manner, just wandering where ever his feet would take him at this point.
Eventually he would get to the town; the streets seemed to be filled with many people who were just bustling here and there, looking for the essentials for their new home. He suddenly had a new realization. How would they earn money to get the food they needed? Surely there were jobs around, but enough for thousands of people. Keran didn't buy it, there had to be some system or some way for them to earn what they needed, right? Slowly he sat down at a nearby bench. It was coiled with ornate patterns generally that of flowers. Slowly Keran slumped back into the bench and went off into his imagination.

Opening the window at the end of the hall Chloe stretched out, grabbing on to the branch of the nearest tree, a cherry tree, and swung herself up high into the tree. Leaves rustled slightly as she disturbed them, but other than that she made no noise. A few squirrels twittered near her scattering out for a moment before Chloe spoke to them, calming them down. A few feet away under a nearby tree Chloe saw a boy sitting and playing his guitar. She couldn't hear what he was singing for she was listening to her own music but she found it entertaining. A few feet off from him a girl sat and watched. A smile flickered across Chloe's face as she laid out flat on the branch, her arms crossed in front of her for her to rest her head on. She liked that other people here enjoyed nature as much as she did. Maybe not as much, but enough to willingly sit outside and bask in the sun. Amongst the pink of all the cherry blossoms her dark hair and green eyes stood out slightly, but Chloe wasn't worried about someone seeing her. What would they do? Make her get out of the tree? They'd have a heck of a time trying to do that.

Corinne wandered amongst the crowds, her room couldn't be too hard to find. Corinne had lost her brother somewhere along the journey and she hadn't seen him at the assembly, still she figured she'd probably meet up with him again soon enough. Keran could take care of himself for a little while. She couldn't decide whether to take on her true form or not, her instincts told her to stay human around so many people because thats what she'd been used to but this was different they didn't have to worry about that here. Corinne could hear a guitar being played nearby and a male singing softly, familiar music... Oasis? She smiled to herself, nice to know some people were already settled. She eventually passed by the source of the music, a guy with black hair sitting under a tree by himself "Good music" Corinne called and waved. She turned away and focused her attention on finding her room. Once she'd found her room then maybe she could also indulge in music.

He walked torwards the front door and reached back to scratch the back of his head. Then he realized he didn't have his hood up. Aaron looked around nonchalantely to see if anyone could see him. He was safe. He pulled up the hood of his solid colored red hoodie over the back of his head to cover his scar that went up the back of his head, making a bald line up the back of his short hair. Aaron walked into the large front hallway and looked around for anyone. He saw a dark man over in the corner with shades over his eyes and dressed in a suit. Man, were these guys everywhere? Aaron almost didn't want to approach the mean looking man, but he did anyways because he wanted to get to his room and lay down.
Aaron moved torwards the man and asked, "Where's the boys dorm B2?"
The man kept quiet and it seemed like he was looking into Aaron's eyes, but he wasn't sure because of the shades. "Go down the hallway to your left until you get to the end, then there will be a list of which levels, which rooms are on." The man then looked away and began to stare forwards again.
"Thanks," said Aaron half-heartedly. These guys seriously needed to work on their attitudes. Aaron shouldn't have even came here. He could have kept hidden from the government. He already lived alone and roamed across America. He could've done it. He knew in the back of his head though that it probably wasn't true. He shook his head and moved down the hallway that went about another few hundred yards.

After a while, Surma had formed an orb of darkness in his palm, which he slowly brought his other hand over to cover it. He closed his eyes as some sort of transformation began in his hands, before he carefully opened them, and a small butterfly made of nothing but shadow spouted its wings, and started to flutter away out of his hand. Surma watched the butterfly as it flew out of the shade and into the sunlight. A small frown appeared on his face when it softly fizzled up in a small fiery burst. With another small, calculated sigh, Surma took out a cigarette and placed it in his lips, producing his lighter and ritualisticly lighting it up.
Surma had stood and began to walk away with his guitar, when he noticed a girl sitting on the grass, looking at him. He raised and eyebrow as he took a small drag of his cigarette, and looked over his shoulders, seeing no one else around him. Surma just awkwardly looked away, and began walking down the small pathway that wound around the campus it would seem. He had walked about ten minutes worth of distance in only five, and looked around at his surroundings. Surma slowly put out the last of his second cig and put it in a nearby bin, that was placed neatly next to an empty well made bench. He sat down and looked up at the sky for a moment, his head tilted back. Surma closed his eyes and thought about what he was going to do here, would he really manage to get by?
