Bishop grimaced, and rubbed one of his swimming buddy's back as they barfed their guts out. He turned away, ignoring the wretched smell as the sand behind one of the cabins got wet with the sickly concoction.
"It's ok buddy..... Just let it all out." He had some practice with this, actually taking care of one of his god-fathers Nigel when he got too drunk. After the sickly affair was over, a few guys from the team hefted the kid up and dragged him to his room.
"You know I'm really glad my dad never let me get that drunk..." He sighed, and stepped into his cabin and looked at the time. It was only 2:14, and he figured he could have enough time to have a quiet little stroll on the beach with himself. He grabbed his iPod and headphones, along with a hoody and stepped out plugging his music in and stepped out smiling softly as a song played. Despite the ear-phones he could still hear the ocean, and it was calming to listen to that in the back ground. He looked up at the stars, and smiled suddenly having a want to go up there and explore. Bishop crept close to the surf, not minding the cool water washing over his feet. With a bobbing head, he steadily made his way carrying himself lightly softly singing to himself.
"Weep, not, for roads untraveled..."Bishop paused for a moment, wondering if he would get to see the sun rise over the ocean and with a happy smiled he realized it was true. When Bishop was younger, his parents told him that Japan was called 'The Land of the Rising Sun' and other legends and stories that circled around that. So he was eager to see a place like this and call it his home. He sighed slightly, looking to the moon and reached out to see if he could touch it. He chuckled softly, imagining the kinds of things he would do if that were to happen. Spending time alone like this, was something Bishop rather enjoyed. He liked to float around in his own head, where he was in control of everything and anything could happen. Right now, he was a million miles away from everybody else, the master of his own universe!! But anybody else would be welcomed, it was just his way. Lowering his arm, Bishop started to walk again after the song changed to some Coldplay (his favorite band) and he swayed with the subtle and slow rhythm just being whisked away like a leaf flowing gently down a river. His blond hair shuffled slightly in the cool breeze, coming from the ocean front. He wasn't really bothered by the cold, so wearing just shorts and a jacket while his feet were wet was no big deal. With a step back, he avoided the up coming swell and moved to have a seat in the cold sand resting his arms on his propped up knees just looking up at the stars. He pondered about what his time here in Japan was going to be like.... He pondered a lot of things actually. Just a 16 year old kid, trying to find himself in some way shape or form. Tonight's medium seemed to be the night sky. As if looking up for an answer, his eyes crossed the glorious night sky tracing out constellations he recognized and making up new ones. Trying to decide what was a star, what was an airplane, and what might be a whole'nother galaxy. It was marvelous, and a chill ran up the boy's spine as thoughts, emotions, and feelings all encircled and mashed together through his whole body.
With an odd expression in his eyes, Bishop grabbed a handful of sand and opened up his palm watching it sift through his fingers and back onto the ground. He thought about the logic, and physics behind just a simple act of that realizing his appreciation for being here at all. He wiped his hands clean, and stood up moving back from the way he came his eyes staying up as his hair was rustled by constant gentle wind along with his own motions. In a change of tempo, which accompanied a
new song. He smiled, and got a bit of a hitch in his step wondering what he could do within the next few days. He definitely was going to get up early.... Probably in the next few hours, and go surfing before he had to leave. His thoughts went to
Sera and
Momo wondering if they were going to flake again or not. The hurt part of him, immediately decided on yes. That part couldn't blame him, he didn't really see why
any girl would want to hang out with a guy like him. Girls liked tall, dark, and handsome looking guys.... Right? Whatever it was, he felt that he was never in the category of 'boyfriend material'. The negative thoughts, were pushed away as one of his favorite parts came up. Bishop closed his eyes, and silently lip sang as he walked along the beach his path swerving a bit since he wasn't concentrating. Upon opening his eyes, he found that he had drifted further from the surf than he wanted, and went back to get closer admiring the glint from the moon off the surface of the water. Bishop finally deduced to not really concern himself whether with whether or not they (Sera and Momo) would show up. He actually wanted
Momo to go explore like he was tomorrow, and he knew that
Sera would be making the best of her time here as well. Bishop glanced back, and saw that he was in front of the cabins again which was perfect. He sat down again, and leaned back moving his hands back to support him as he gazed on.
Bishop reached one hand out, and gently struck imaginary piano keys as the end of the song came. His body tensed up, then slowly relaxed letting himself go. He thought the ending was rather sad actually.... As if reminiscing about a friend that past away, or that moment when you had to finally let someone or something go.
He jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and unplugged one ear-phone and looked up to see his father.
"Uhh... Dad. What's up?" "Just came over here to check up on you son.... Saw you walking by yourself. Is everything alright?" Bishop blushed slightly at that, realizing that he had been watched. At least by his father to his knowledge, and unplugged the other ear-phone pausing his music.
"Uhh.... Y-Yeah, I'm fine dad. Just enjoying a walk on the beach I guess. How was your party?" His father smiled softly, and nodded taking a seat with his son.
"Ours was fine... I saw that yours went well too. You kiss any girl?" The larger muscled version of Bishop chuckled nudging the smaller suggestively. The young junior's face flushed red, and he crossed his arms.
"Uhh... Yeah. Twice... With the same girl." "That's my boy!! You'll be married in no time!!" "Dad!!!" "I'm kidding... But seriously son. As a father, I am proud of you. Also that you didn't drink to much!!" His father laughed when Bishop shushed him. But the wide smile on his face, was honest. To a father, it was extremely fulfilling to see their child grow and succeed.
"Welp... I'll leave you to ponder the universe. Get some good rest, and take care of yourself son. I gotta pick up the troops passed out in the sand, can't leave'em sleeping there all night. I'll see you soon.". Bishop's father stood up, and gave the thumbs up with a masculine wink as he walked away looking back.
"See ya dad..... And thanks.". Bishop sat there, watching him walk away once again being alone. Bishop sighed, and turned back to the ocean chewing his lip slightly. This time without music, his current situation set in and he once again wondered like he always had....
<Why am I alone?> Sure he understood, it was hard to make and keep friends when you moved around a lot. But something about him.... He was sure it was him! That always kept him left out of the group, or thought of last. Not even swimming helped with that, though he was a strong contender in the pool. He put his ear-phones back in and pressed play and went back to his music. With a gentle frown, his mind dove deeper into his current state of mind reflecting back on his past and events that played out. His eyes widened at the sudden realization that, that was the reason why his dad came over. His head slumped, as his knees curled up his earlier mood being somewhat ruined. He thoughts of ways to improve...
<Should I be louder? Cooler? How do you even BE cooler? Maybe more like... Silas.... I don't know.>, he realized that he was rather the opposite of
Akira. A little sideways smirk grew on his face, but it didn't last for very long. Sure she was 'popular' but a lot of flak came with that as he noticed earlier tonight. He shook his head not wanting that, but also had an urge to talk with the girl (Akira). Maybe another time... With a quick glance up, he noticed that the moon had changed position. He decided that it was time to go to bed, and stood up brushing the sand off of him. He paced back to the cabins, flipping his hood up wondering how
Kei managed to balance it out. He probably just as quiet as him, but seemed to get along just fine socially. Not seeing anybody he knew (which was probably about 10 people), he just went straight to his cabin and took a shower so he wouldn't have to tomorrow morning. He dried himself off, and put on his only other pair of boxers and slipped into bed. He set an alarm for only a few hours later, he knew he could sleep on the bus. Looking around, he didn't see anybody else or signs of other people in the cabin with him which made him frown once again. Turning to face the wall, he curled up and closed his eyes to sleep.
"Some sleep, and surf will clear my thoughts.". Before he fell asleep, Bishop had a quick thought over
Devone. Not that she was the single person he thought about before he fell asleep, but he just wondered what was the reasoning behind her calling
Akira out. His father taught him how to sift through bullshit, but he was still a little rough at it. Had his old pen pal really changed? He could remember only so much, but he had thought better of her. Why was she hear anyways? It was all very odd, and before he could finish his thoughts Bishop fell asleep.
