Description

Name: Mykeisha Bruma (Caroline-Marie D'Amore)

Appearance:
Image

Height: 4'6"

Weight: 150lbs

ImageHistory: Caroline-Marie D'Amore was once a daughter of a long line of aristocrats. She was tutored in literature, astrology, alchemy and magic, and excelled in all of them. However, she rarely went outside, for she was busy with her studies, and she found that she gets more enjoyment from reading novels rather than going outside. Whenever she went outside, it was always too hot or too cold, and she was warned of the many dangers of the world.

As she grew older, Caroline-Marie had gained even more of a solitary nature. Many questioned why her identity was so secretive, for many had never seen her before. Though, these questions were left unanswered. A group known as Black Horizon was one.

One day, Caroline-Marie's parents bought an old book, just as they always did, to give to their daughter. It was written in Latin, English, French, Greek, Egyptian and an older version of Magician's code. All Caroline-Marie could make out at first was the title; "Stardust Reverie, The Book of Alice the Magician". Caroline-Marie decided she would decode the whole book, and started to write a copy of it in French.

Caroline-Marie had started translating it, but slowly. It seemed to be a book filled with magical notes, some were well known, others were magician's secrets, anf some only existed in legends. From Elixers to Treasures to Magical Spirits. There was even an entire section about different ways to extend one's life. And between the lines, it told of the joyous, epic and tragic stories and experiences of Alice the Magician, a character and person Caroline-Marie began to love. What she didn't reakize however, is that the magician who unseals the book and gazes upon it's words, has their fate twisted to it.

However, the group known as Black Horizon had been after the book for a long time, and had recently learned of it's location, and it's translator. They wanted to be the only ones who had knowledge of the book, and offered the D'Amore family to buy both the book and the copy, along with the translator, and threatened to kill everybody who may have possible knowledge of the book's contents, which included all of the D'Amore family, had they not complied. Caroline-Marie was made to flee, along with the book, with only a guard and a servant to follow her. Fleeing as far as they could, their journey was haulted in Gallus, for the hard winter let them go no further.

Since then, Caroline-Marie D'Amore changed her identity to Mykeisha Bruma, and has not left her manor ever since, only rarely leaving her library. She is taken care of by her Guard/Mechanic Aleksander van Exburna and her Caretaker/Librarian Flandre Mistus, who both do errands for her. Few ever visit her house, for there isn't much reason to see her. Rarely anybody has seen her unless she's invited them, and some of the supersticious say she's a vampire or something similar.

Since

Personality: If there is one thing you can say about this girl, it's that she is quiet. You wouldn't exactly thing she's mute, however. She's more of a very shut-in woman. If you ask her a question, she'll simply answer, even if she hesitates, she'll answer with a simple quiet "Yes" or "No", or occasionally, something like "Not exactly," or "Kind of," or "I am not sure." Basically, she'll never answer in anything longer than a sentence, and rarely a full sentence. You'll rarely ever get her to explain on her answers. She only speaks for longer periods of time if it's to her servants (but she'll do it in french) or if she needs to discuss an ergent matter, or if she gets really emotional.

This shut-in girl, however, does have one love. Books. Reading is all she does all day besides sitting, eating and sleeping. She spends all day indoors, reading the many books she collects. Books are expensive, but she collects them from many sources. Mainly her family, but occasionally, from elsewhere... It would make one wonder how desperate she is to collect them.

And, as expected of her unlively nature, she is actually somewhat unhealthy. She's got a bad respiratory system, so it's not uncommon to hear her coughing if you were to stay in a room with her for extended periods of time, and sometimes she'll have coughing fits and even bad asthma attacks every now and then. She rarely goes outside or even moves around, so she is very unfit.

Although, behind her mask of melancholy, there is probably something behind it.

Basic Powers: Ice and Light

Class: Upper Class

Class Power: To be able to project her power through her books. Is also able to design elaborate spells, and often uses magical forces outside of her own to assist her.

A girl rose her head from her arms. Looking up, she saw her arms, a desk filled with papers, writing utensils, blown-out candles, a cup of warm tea and a plate of eggs and bread, a large library filled with many shelves, and light pouring in from second floor windows.

The grand library was something of a really big study. The floors and walls consisted of red capet and paint, while the ceiling, which was two stories high, was painted white, two chandeliers hanging from it. Tall shelves about an entire floor high were in neat rows that branched out from a large desk in the center, of which a purple-colored girl sat. There was both a fireplace and a second-floor balcony all around the perimeter of the library, with stairs on either side of the room. And behind the desk were the large main library doors, the only other ones being on the second floor. Altogether, the grande library took up half of the Bruma household of the Follus District.

Raising her arms off the table, Mykeisha brought her plate in front of her and started eating. She never bothered getting out of her seat to change out of her nightgown, for she prefered to wear it, for there was rarely a time she needed to look presentable. She simply needed to think about what she was going to do that day, more than likely finish reading "The Half-Life".

A young white-haired woman in a maid's uniform looked over white-clothed tables of which presented many different iron goods, mostly silverware, tools, pots and pans, gears, knives, nails, swords and other iron goods. She put a couple different knives in her cloth bag, such as different cutting knives, butter knives, wood knives, scissor knives, and even daggers. She then took a look at some pots, She placed her bag in one of the larger. pots and carried it in her arms.

The woman then made her way to the one-armed, one-eyed young girl sitting out front. "Excuse me," she asked, "I apologize for interupting your conversation, but I was wondering if you had any bronze or gold good, maybe charms or jewelry?"

Piper blushed when he called her cute and huffed defiantly. She was not use to being called cute... Then again her small stature probably did give her the impression of being such. "Well it's really not fancy like I said I had some help..." Piper watched as a young woman arrived and began browsing the wares and taking a few things. Keeping one eye on the young woman she smiled. "Alright Kaine no last name hun?" She shook his hand in greeting and laughed as he quite confidently replied to her offer.

Piper pulled her hand up and adjusted her mechanical eye once more when the young woman walked over asking about charms and jewels. "Our more expensive things like that are kept inside... The blacksmith Mr.Sabara is the one who handles the payments and the more important things of that sort but all our jewelry is in gold but we do have charms in bronze... If your looking for a repair that's also inside but you have to bring the item over so it can be estimated how much repair is needed." When Piper was sure she'd answered all possible sides of the girls query she smiled. "Oh and thank you for you business madam."

Silent, as always, the library could be described as silent, and large, that was another good word, but as of to describe the current situation and paint a better picture of the mood in the room, silent was the best word.

The only noises that ever occured were the sound of footsteps of either the guard, the maid or sometimes the bookworm herself, pages turning, things on a desk being fumbled with, the sound of a mechanical pen on paper, the sip of tea (it's tea-flavoured), and the absolute loudest thing, the girl's breathing, the only thing louder ever occuring in the library being her coughing. The rarest possible sound was the sound of speech, usually in French, but again, such rarely happened. However, this happened to be one of such occasions.

"Apologies for interupting," a German voice punctured the often called 'golden' silence. The woman looked up at her personal guard, a tall German man with short brown hair and round glasses, and wore an informal house-serving uniform, consisting of a black and grey striped suit and pants, the best of shoes, and navy blue gloves. His clean-shaven face did show signs of his second chore of being a personal mechanic, a little bit of soot and oil just highlighting it darker.

"I do wish to inform you of an upcoming festival tonight, in Tolmanni Square, the Fawkner Annual Fair, if you remember." Mykeisha had her eyes glued on her book again. "Yes," she responded simply. "... And I don't suppose a lady like yourself will go, correct?" "No." Mykeisha looked as if she wasn't trying to figure out what he was getting at, and in all truth, she expected her servants to know exactly what she's thinking, that's how she trusted them.

"Well, apparently there's going to be tons of rides and games, and as you know, the Fawkner tournament." Mykeisha did not respond at all. The guard pursed his lips. "You know, Miss Bruma," he explained, "Staying inside all the time like some hermit isn't good for your health." "Hermitude extends your lifespan," Mykeisha answered, in obviously more words than normal. "Yes," Aleksander responded, "But tell me, should you ever be depressed in life, would you not want to look back at something nice in your life?"

Mykeisha finally looked up at him. "It's not like you to suggest I should expose myself to the world," she explained, "Not with them looking for me. I am now pondering the possibility that you are not my guard, but in fact, an imposter out for the book and possibly, my life." And despite the melodrama in the statement she used, she said it all in the same calm melancholy ton she always used, not raising her voice any higher. "Miss Bruma, if I may," Alek explained, "It is not good one is too predictable, any mercenary will tell you that. You'll win no fights, and you wont even be able to flee or hide if one is too predictable. I, as your guard, am practicing this by asking you to do something different, make yourself do something unlikely, that is unpredictable.

Mykeisha gazed at him for a few seconds more, before lowering her gaze back on her book, but instead of reading it, was in deep thought, gripping it a little tighter. "And besides," the guard added, "It'd be great to learn magic by watching the techniques of others. And that thing you were reading, what was it? The idea of turning magical fighting into a game of artwork?" Mykeisha was unresponsive. There was a long pause. Then, the German sighed. "I thought not..." He made his way to the doors of the library to work on repairing the oven, when a small voice was interupted by a cough. It cleared it's voice and repeated itself more clearly.

"I'll do it."

Zaku was walking down the street toward Talmanni square with Evan, the long way, because Evan wanted to build up to the fair. Zaku was at a special level of annoyed in which he almost didn't care if Evan was attacked by a monster. Suddenly Even stopped and peeked around an alley corner. Zaku was about to drag him when he sensed what Evan was looking at, the only thing was that Zaku wasn't trained to feel magikal pressure. He peeked around the corner to see a stout man in laid back golden hair, and a long blue military-like coat with a collar that flipped up and covered his neck. He wore clean white gloves and shiny black boots with his whit long pants that had a blue stripe with golden borders on the outside of each leg.

The man stood outside the house of one Mykeisha Bruma, knocking on the door. He stood very official-like with his hands behind his back. azu recognized this man as Alois Fawkner, the last and current heir to the Fawkner name. The coat he wore was the coat all members of the city council wore, identifying them as one of the few people with the power to control the city. Evan knew only that he must be a council member.

There was a knocking on the door. One couldn't hear it fron the library unless they were looking for the sound, and considering it was part of the guard's job, he was one of such people. Having made his way to the door, he unlocked it, turned the doorknob and opened it slowly. He examined the person in front of him up and down. Alek had always been overly cautious. He examined the man to have been some sort of military official, or more fitting, a council official. As for the face, matching his clothing to it, he identified him as Alois Fawkner. "Please, do come in," the German guard offered, "And to what do I owe ze honor, Herr Fawkner?"

Alois was young for a councilman and even looked his young age of 25, but sounded much different. His Formal tone and deep regal voice complimented each other, it was one of the things that made him one of the most popular councilmen. "This is the residence of Mykeisha Bruma yes?" he said in a very friendly manner to the guard, "I wish to speak to her about the fair and another very important matter of business." He pulled out a sealed letter, bearing the seal of none other than the old private seal of the Fawkner family. The seal was pressed blue wax with the shape of an open book with two blades behind it, the letter smelled strongly of rose-like perfume making it reek of aristocracy.

Evan noticed the letter but of course not being versed in many of the old town symbols, didn't recognize the seal. Neither did Zaku, being somewhat of a foreigner still to the city. Evan began a quite climb toward the roof to get a better view on the conversation. When Evan finally reached the top, he saw Zaku already hunched listening to the banter. Evan didn't care for how he got there so fast now, as he rushed to quietly eavesdrop as well.

"This is the residence of Mykeisha Bruma yes?" "Indeed," the guard responded, glancing around a bit for possible eavesdroppers. "I wish to speak to her about the fair and another very important matter of business." The man presented a letter, of which the guard closely examined. One thing Alek had trained himself in was to remember all forms of identification, from faces to names to symbols, and he did recognize the seal, though having only vaguely remembering if he had seen the seal on a letter before, such as while serving the entire D'Amore house, for example.

"I understand," the guard responded, "Please vait here for a second," Having let the man in, he headed for the door behind him and scanned the area quickly again for possible eavesdroppers, though he hadn't glanced up. He then slowly closed the door. "Take a look around if you wish, Herr Fawkner, but you vill have to wait a moment while I notify my Mistress..." At that, he left the foyer and headed for the hall. The house itself wasn't as large as many homes on the street, but that was mainly because the library took up half the house. The head of the house rarely did anything toward it's decorations and furniture in anywhere besides the library, but it was all decorated and maintained by the maid, who helped herself to turn the place into her own piece of art, despite the fact the house rarely was visited. Only one who's served or lived there could make the distinguishment, but it's design could to traced to resemble that of the old D'Amore household. Likely an intentional force-of-habit by the maid who once served there.

(OOC: I'm not an interior decorator, so coming up with the interior design for an upper-class house is somewhat difficult for me, and considering in stories, especially for classy characters, these things have to be emphasized. If the writing is professional, the character and lifestyle seems mors professional, I suppose.)

The guard had ran into the maid in the hall along the way, and whispered to her about their guest, and though one could sense she was somewhat nervous, there was a hint of excitement in her as well, having not been in the presence of a bloodline heir besides her Mistress in a while, even though there was no way they could have expected him, and headed for the kitchen to prepare some tea.

Then the guard headed to the library, where his Mistress was, just where he left her, still in that same purple-ish nightgown she always wore. She did notice his footsteps were slightly quicker. The guard quietly notified her of Alois Fawkner and his request and of the letter. Mykeisha didn't even hesitate to say "Bring him in," and started slowly sorting her desk, piling some things and putting some under her desk, and even getting up to place a chair in front of the desk.

The guard came back to look for the man, Alois Fawkner. "My Mistress vill be honored to see you immedietely," he told him, "Although, she isn't very talkative, und you must understand zat ve haven't been expecting any visitors, so I apologise if things are somewhat, ah, improper." He proceeded to led him into the library. Upon entering the library, the girl was clearly visible, back facing the doors and front facing the desk. The library was huge, but upon entering from that direction, it seemed as if the whole library sprouted from her.

"Do sit," the rice grain of a voice offered from the grand centerpiece. The guard stood at the door. "Shall I summon the maid?" the guard offered. "Do," the voice-speck answered, "Tea," it added. Mykeisha Bruma was sitting at her desk, trying to scan her way through a page of her book when she closed it and placed the book on her lap to gaze upon the man, her lost, melancholic and somewhat itchy eyes gazing into his. "Yes?" she 'greeted'.

(OOC: Mind using a lot of dialogue, for Mykeisha certainly wont.

"Well if ever there were a better embodiment of coldness, then it must have the power to freeze over oblivion," Alois said sitting down. "I beg you madam Bruma, to take my remarks as of late, as they are, lighthearted and playful." Alois set his arms at ease, and on his legs. "Truly though madam Bruma you could spare some amount of emotion, for I bring both good news and a warning." Alois maintained his friendly tone as he exclaimed all of this, he tried not to look over happy however as he began, "but I do hope to maintain some seriousness throughout my words, as I do understand what it is to have someone be annoyingly cheerful when you feel overwhelmingly the opposite."

Alois set the letter on the table, inside lay black and white photographs of alley ways with dead bodies in them. Each alley also had a photo related to it, each of the strange upside down sunrise symbol made in blood on alley walls. "This is new that I've found out relates to you," Alois said, leaning in and quieting his voice a bit. "I have read every file the city has on you, totaling in two, and all I know is that Bruma could possibly be a fake name, and that you are running from something based on your first few days of activity in the city, which included only one valid days worth of research." Alois laid back and set his head on one of his arms with finger tracing his statuesque and handsome face. "You madam Bruma are indeed a mystery, and I'm the only council member that knows it, and the only member with family ties strong enough to find out even an ounce of this strange new gang's motives." Alois smirked with a bitter interest, "They are after something of yours, and they aren't far off, if I can deduce all of this, some of their best minds can't be either."

Zaku and Evan meanwhile had decided to wait in a near bye alley and try to tail Alois when he came out, to see what he was up to. Zaku had many ideas in his head as he stood in the shadow brooding. "Ughh, this is starting to get boring," Evan said sitting against a wall looking up with an obvious look of disinterest. "We've been here ten minutes, you can leave for all I care, but this is something truly curious," Zaku said in a scoffing tone.

Alois stood subtly and regally, with his hands behind his back. He took a brief but deep breath, and looked up eagerly. "Well on the side of good news, I was hoping to invite you to have a special seat at this years Fawkner Fair, specifically the tournament." Alois stood again and seamlessly began, "I thought that if I was bringing such grief news I might as well try and lighten the blow, as well as the fact that I have a great fascination with you Madam Bruma, you are obviously good at hiding many things, the slip ups I must believe are not entirely on your part, but I live for discovery."

Alois maintained his great positive charm as he spoke. "My family has looked toward danger in the task of seeking knowledge for generations unending, and you Madam Bruma, I must imagine store a vast wealth of knowledge." Alois bowed gracefully moving one hand under his chest in the proper manner. "Please, I must ask that you go, and at least compare some of your own intellecual finding with that of my own, and my bloodline."

Evan was getting tired of wait, and still waiting on Zaku who was tentatively leaning against the alley side. "I'm gonna go on ahead, you can stay and eavesdrop if you want," Evan said. Zaku barely heard, and made no signal showing he even did. Evan didn't care, he walked on once again, headed to the fair.

Mykeisha stared into Alois's eyes for a period of time, her expression neutral, her asthmetic breathing the loudest thing coming from her, her eyes neither cold nor warm, neither confused nor confident, simply neutral. She was in deep thought. This man had invited her as a special guest to this one fair, the one that she had already been planning on visiting, as if her guard Alek had organized this, but had admitted his reason in doing so, in hopes that he could learn more about her through her behaviour and any possible slip-ups in her composure, so much as a cough could some sort of weakness in her (which she did quite often). Though, that wasn't any different from her having admitted she was keeping secrets from him.

She was about to answer, when on cue, Flandre, the maid, walked into the library, a tray with a steaming teapot and two teacups on it. "Leave it there," Mykeisha told her, slightly gesturing to her desk, to which the maid complied. "Anything else, madame?" the maid asked, to which the girl gestured her to lean closer. Mykeisha spoke to her in french in a low voice, to which the maid nodded every so often, and would occasionally ask something back. With a few final nods, the maid stood upright and faced Alois, giving a warm greatful smile. "Madame Bruma is honored by your request and would be more than greatful to accept such an offer, from such a noble like yourself," she told him, "Though, she wishes not to draw too much attention to herself and wishes to bring her own guard with her. Also, she will have to prepare herself, as she is in absolutely no state to be going anywhere, not in this clothing." She paused for a bit and turned to her mistress, putting her finger to her mouth as to hold a slight giggle. "Tu aimes Monsieur Fawkner?" she asked, to which she earned a glare. "Je voire..." she responded nervously and turned back to face Alois. "A-Anyway," she continued, "She wants to keep conversation to a minimum, as she really doesn't like speaking much, and, she wishes to give you a gift." Mykeisha leaned in her chair to pick up a book off the ground and handed it to him, the book's title reading; 'The Half-Life'.

Alois smiled widely as he was told the news. "Why of course Madam Bruma, and as my guest I'll try not to ask any more questions than need be," Alois finished charmingly. "Thank you for the gift as well," he said picking up the book and looking at the name. "Thank you very much Madam Bruma, this looks to be a very interesting piece, and in return let me further return the favor." Alois took the book and opened his long blue coat for a moment to put the book inside one of his larger pockets. He buttoned the coat again and then dug into the right hand inside pocket located on the center of his breast. He pulled out an old looking stone with an eye impressed into it. The pupil of the eye was a piece of glass.

"It's a very special artifact, there are approximately five in the entire world, but only three have ever been found. I have one, and I believe you are the only other person who could make use of it." Alois' smile closed to only lips on his handsome face, his pulled back short hair still shone its perfect gold in the light of the room. "They are said to let certain magik wielders see many hidden things, but only at the right time." Alois looked directly at Mykeisha, and started, "I know not what that time is though."

(OOC: I'm going to assume this is a time skip right here)

"It's noisy," was the first phrase uttered by the woman since she left her one true place of comfort. For somebody who had speant a long amount of time inside, one would imagine her to be filled with amazement or paranoia, but however, Mykeisha Bruma, hadn't seemed any more emotionally riled, if anything, possibly less so.

The moth of a woman and her guard explored the square, seeing all the many attractions. Occasionally, the woman would glance at some of the games that slightly caught her interest, but they were more difficult games. "It vould be a shame if Frau Bruma did not have any fun." Alek said. A large clanging noise to their right made them both flinch slightly. The guard glanced over to see that somebody actually managed to break one of the games, and yet somehow won the grand prize. It made him chuckle a bit, but he continued to move on with her mistress.

Mykeisha let out a slight sigh. Perhapse she herself realized that she was going to be bored had she not done anything. Looking at her, she did look very similar to his old mistress. Mykeisha wore a pink dress with an ankle-length skirt with cherry-red trimming, and had a cherry red bow wrapped around her waist, and she wore a pink mob cap, which only covered the top of her head, with a red bow on it's side as well. She also wore red high-heels, of which she was slightly unaquainted with, having not worn such footware in a long time. "Zat maid sure misses zat place," Alek mentioned. Mykeisha didn't seem to respond.

Though, another thing that the guard noticed was that she was carrying a book. It had a blank leather cover, but Alek knew very well which book it was. 'And what do you plan to do with that?' The guard asked in his thoughts. Though, he realized that whatever that thing that Alouis Fawkner had given to her was, she hadn't the time to examine it properly. Perhapse is was written somewhere in that book? The guard had no clue, but still thought it was a risky move.

"Vell, I suppose ve could kill time, somehow, any suggestions?" The girl didn't respond, however, throughout the noise, the guard could have sworn he heard her humming something. A tune of which he remembered well, and decided to whistle aloud; Septette for a Dead Princess.

(OOC: Eh, not too sure what I'm going to do with Mykeisha, but at least I have her in the open.)

Evan saw the pretty girl get all excited over the book, and the young guy, who Evan could only guess was probably her boyfriend or husband with all his luck, summon a bouquet of flowers with the book. Evan looked closer now, and noticed the book. He walked up to the group and with a somewhat worried tone said, "Hey! guy with the book!" He tried to stop the guy and get the book away from him, if it really was what he thought it was. He got only a few feet away and looked closely. It was the book he thought it was, and he had to get it out of the guys hands quick. He acted quick and without thinking, as he often does. "Sorry about this, " he said with his last step as he grabbed the book and threw it up in the air. He was a good enough aim that he barely had to focus when he shot a fireball from his hand. The book came back down in ashes, as Evan just stood there waiting for the beating as always. He just realized how buff this guy was, and that the pretty girl and the other pretty small one with mechanical parts where both probably wielders. Scratch that, he felt it.

Alois

Alois strode beside Miss Bruma, and tried hard to not attract the eyes of civilians. He spoke clearly to Madam Bruma, "I must depart for a time, but should you need to see me, or the time of the tournament arrives, please meet me at that tent," Alois pointed to the tent surrounding the arena for the tournament. He briefly walked away, his blue militant coat swaying in the wind.

Hong Maoliu

It was interesting that the matches weren't predetermined. That way, Maoliu couldn't overestimate or underestimate her next opponent. Also, it meant she had know idea when she was going to fight. The combatants weren't outstanding at a first glance, but they did have potential, though maybe if they worked on their Chi more, they could have gotten better. Though, really, anyone could tell who would win, the man that was still standing and sober.

"Who do you think'll win, Mei-ling?" Kaine asked, explaining his thoughts. Maoliu crossed her arms and proudly claimed, "Well it looks as if the battle had just finished, considering one of them is on the ground already," Maoliu started to feel her eyes get heavy. Though she had been sleeping not even three hours before, she had a habit of falling asleep when she was idle. Without realizing it, and while standing strait, she fell into a blissful dreamland involving aliens, time-travellers and espers.

Mykeisha Bruma

The woman may have been complaining about how noisy it'd been earlier, but sitting in that crowd, she experienced true noise, noise of which she only made in her head when picturing a book. As usual, her eyes were devouring words off a page, with another book on her lap, though, she found herself getting distracted by every conversation she could barely hear. Her legs were rather tired, so she at least was relieved she was sitting down. Though, she'd never sat as a special guest before. She'd never felt special before, but she never felt ordinary nor different, or perhaps she had felt these things before and hadn't acknowledged them as important.

A suited man approached her, her guard. He crouched to Mykeisha's ear-level and whispered ever so slightly, "Crows everywhere." "Sit," Mykeisha request toward a seat next to her, to which that guard honored. He leaned over and continued whispering, gesturing with his eyes to different spots in the crowd and elsewhere. Mykeisha took quick glances at the crowd. "Zey vont recognize you vith the purple hair, of course, but I still fear for ze vorst, especially because you brought, zat," he glanced toward the book on her lap, "Vhy in ze vorld did you do it?" Mykeisha shut her book, keeping her fingers on her page, and the presented the cover to her guard. The cover read Priceless. She then opened the book back up and contiued to read. "It has two meanings," she said, just audible enough to hear over the crowd. She coughed and continued to read.

The guard reclined in his seat. "Front seats are rather nice," the guard commented, "Vhy don't you pay attention?" "I am," the girl responded, "Why don't you?" The guard looked at the two combatants, and one looked as drunk as a skunk, just lying on the ground. He scoffed. "A functioning liver isn't going to be ze only thing ze two don't have in common very soon."

(OOC: A little random, but I figured I had to make a post with this character so she wasn't forgotten, and somebody ought to have posted anyway.)

"Tu n'es pas le regarder!" Alek repeated over and over again to his mistress, whom of which was trying to ignore the world by replacing it with her book. For some reason, her guard seemed to be really into the show. It made Mykeisha wonder if this was the reason he convinced her to go. But in all truth, he wasn't the only one who convinced her. Perhaps Mykeisha needed to work on social skills such as 'not being easily persuaded'. Her guard kept making notes, in French, about the fighting, such as "He's testing her," or "She's running out of tricks, if she hadn't already." Though, in actuality, even Mykeisha couldn't truly ignore a man right beside her, nor the displays in front of her. It was all somehow making her cough.

"Crows?" Mykeisha asked, hopefully to change the topic. The guard sat back in his seat and examined the crowd. "...I can only assume they're waiting for something..." Alek guessed. Mykeisha shifted in her seat uneasily. "You know," the guard stated, "There's a reason I'd hoped you'd come see this specific event, madam." He knew Mykeisha would sort it out in her head, which caused her mouth to twitch. Though Mykeisha had a wide expanse knowledge, Alek was always able to outwit her at first. "I assume your suggesting I am out of practice." "Well, my lady, I can't recall you using combat magic in a rather long time. In fact, milady. I was thinking that it'd be important to start considering a new training path for milady. I figured this would be a start." Mykeisha simply inhaled deeply and cleared her throught, and placed her book on her lap. "I'll watch."

Mykeisha watched the events of the battle unfold, as her guard explained the situation to her, like they were at a sporting event or card game. Mykeisha was simply impressed by the speed of the battle. Though she could cast much larger amounts of magic and a much 'higher grade' of it, she wasn't sure if she could execute it similarly. "I may need a new guard..." she commented. "Oh, but milady," her guard explained, "Combat prowess is not about power or intellect. It's simply about how fast you can end the battle. For example..."

"Excuse me, pardon me..." Scarlett was in the audience crowd. "Have you seen a falcon called Zhu? No?" Many yells, similar to 'Hey! Watch it' were flying around Scarlett, but she didn't pay attention to them. Rather, they sounded like roars from mice to her. Not squeaking - roars. "Hey!" She grabbed Mykeisha's arm. "Will you help me find... I forgot what I was looking for... You'll help me find it, right?" Scarlett was gazing at Mykeisha's eyes for a few seconds, until she started dragging her away. "Sorry... excuse me... pardon me... Alright, mice! I know you're angry, but you don't have to roar every two seconds!"

"Kaine?" Scarlett completely forgot about Zhu. "You hear that, Piper?" She was talking to Mykeisha. "Kaine will be fighting!" Scarlett hugged the purple-haired girl and started jumping and cheering. "Piper, I think you've grown a few inches... Good for you! Now let's watch Kaine! If only Neku was here too..."

"If only my mom was here too..." Saphire mumbled to herself. She ended up in the audience crowd, but felt completely uncomfortable around so many people. Then what was she doing at a fair, you may ask. "I need to find someone, who can teach me how to control my powers urgently... I can't take this fear any more... there are many magic-wise people at fairs, I hope..." She was thinking.

#, as written by Savader
It was like all sound around him aside from Alois' announcement had been distinguished as Kaine heard his name being called up to the ring. The moment he'd been awaiting most since he arrived in Gallus and was entered into the tournament, had finally arrived. And now it was his turn to have some fun.

Without taking another moment to hesitate after hearing the announcement, Kaine's excitement had built up, and boiled over, as he let it loose in one fell swoop. "Awesome!!" he shouted, throwing his fist up in the air. "Finally! It's my turn!" He turned to Neku, looking like a child excited over summer holidays. "I thought I'd have to wait forever! Haha!" he added, planting a hand on Neku's shoulder. "Well, you two wish me luck. I might just end up needing it!" he said, directing his words at Piper too, whom he turned his head towards in order to signify this, giving both of them a good smile before turning and heading out of the tent, waving the back of his hand at them with farewell.

As Kaine stepped out of the tent, he noticed everyone was looking around for the participants whose match they'd be watching. He smiled lightly as he made his way forward, reaching the stage within about a minute; the area was rather large after all. Just as Kaine planted one foot on the marble stone that was the large squared ring, he felt someone's eyes on him. Obviously, there were tons of people currently watching him, as he just announced without words, that HE was one of the participants, but this eying felt different. It held an intense vibe, as if he was being sought out for more than just a random fight with another random man or woman. His smile fell, and he gave the area a quick search, spotting Scarlett, who was jumping up and down with some unknown kid, or so it appeared, and then looked towards the participants who were standing at the side of the ring, thinking that it might have been Hong or Master Zen that was watching him, but he didn't feel the vibe coming from their auras... He then looked up past them, and after a couple of seconds of searching, he found his spy, and boy was he right about the vibe being intense... Once he locked eyes with what appeared to be a thin young girl, who was partially masked by the shadow of her black hood, he felt the intensity turn into pure hate, which made him wonder who she was, and what the hell he could have done to piss her off to such a degree...

Putting this aside, Kaine turned his attention away from the mysterious girl, and lifted himself onto the stage as he was previously going to do, both feet now firmly planted on the hard surface, all of the previous moment having happened in just a few seconds of eye gazing, of course. Kaine's smile had returned to his face once more, and he crossed his arms in wait, wondering who his opponent would be...

(OOC: Shoot, sorry I didn't respond quickly enough.)

Mykeisha Burma

Mykeisha was in the process of reading her book, as for some reason, the tournament had paused. Her guard was curious as to the reason behind the pause, looking over to Alois, seeing that he was speaking to another person, one of the first combatants, the first loser at that. He must had made a quick recovery, for him to already be up, Alek thought, when she heard a yelp from her mistress, and when he looked back at her, she was gone. Dumbfounded and upset, the guard picked up the books of which she left and started searching the crowd, calling out in French.

Mykeisha had barely noticed she had even moved until she found herself not looking at words anymore. She tried controlling her own movements, but it seemed as if she couldn't for the strangest of reasons, when she noticed her arm was being pulled on by another woman, the same woman who'd been staring at her a few seconds before, asking her to help find, whatever it was, Mykeisha wasn't paying attention, until now, of course. It seemed amazing how aerobic activity could open up ones senses by so much.

Mykeisha could hardly tell what going on, her focused on not falling over, in high-heels nonetheless, when they suddenly stopped. The crowd got louder, and so did the crazy woman right next to her. She embraced her all so suddenly, which Mykeisha took as harassment, and spoke of some woman named Piper, but Mykeisha could barely respond, trying to catch her breath. She tried to call out, but she could barely do it in anything higher than a whisper, "Che...Chevalier!" Her head was spinning. She couldn't tell anything about anywhere, and couldn't even find where she was sitting last. She dropped her book and her guard was nowhere to be found. She then attempted to stumble through the crowd, away from the her lunatic kidnapper.

Hong Maoliu

They arrived at alien scene where bad guy from the game said, "I have take the isotope and it will cause meltdown. if you do not meet my demans... TOO LATE!" and the isotope hit quarterlife and teh room was slowly become vaporize. "No! Not all of Dallas!"

Maoliu woke up with a start. She must had dozed off during the last battle. Why she was so drowsy, who knew, but perhaps part of the reason was unlike most people, she was more drowsy when nervous. Though, it seemed as if the next match was to start soon. Maoliu was curious as to who Alois was going to choose, when he chose Kaine. Now this, she wasn't going to miss.

Neku

Neku put his hand on Scarlett's shoulder and smirked with amusement, or drunkenness. "I am, and you're a bit loopy, and that's not Piper, and here is Zhu," he said pointing with his other hand to Zhu who stood majestically on his shoulder. Zhu cawed in happy response. "It's been a while since I've had to acrobat my way through stands rather than buildings, you should slow down a little, and get your barings." Neku held his hand out and slyly grabbed the bottle of Sake he was carrying without his notice. Neku chugged a few ounces and said, "Anyway who are you?" he said to the purple haired girl.

Yun was left alone in the tent, but he decided that he might as well help search for the girl. With a quick and proper goodbye to the doctor and a compliment to his daughter he left the tent. He decided to search near the competitor area, and saw mostly the same bunch of people, an old man in yellow sage robes, a man in a long jacket material sleeveless coat primarily identified by his wool cap with a skull knitted into it, and a woman in a dark tight leathery suit, recently changed out of nicer attire. Before he could look for Scarlett or inquire where the hooded man from before was he saw that Kaine was in the ring with an opponent. This distracted him beyond bounds.
