Introduction
Mass Effect. Fear.
(You may want to listen to Adam Freelandβs Mind Killer while you read this. This was written to the nearly 11 minute long mix from area 5 of REZ called Fear if you want to get the true feeling of it. Youtube it and make sure itβs something like 10 minutes and 55 seconds, thereβs another mix of it out there that is also from a REZ soundtrack CD called βGamersβ Guide To REZ,β thatβs not it. Youtube)
Setting.
The battle of the citadel was won. Sovereign, and their puppet, Saren Arterius, have been destroyed. The Heretics have retreated. The tank-bred Krogan soldiers have been eliminated along with the cure for the genophage. The council was saved. One more thing. Shepard is dead. Cerberus is hard at work tinkering at what remains of Shepard, still trying to figure out whatβs flesh and what is hardsuit. Project Lazarus has a long way to go. Disjointed branches of Cerberus move in dark corners of the galaxy, conducting devious experiments. The healing process has finally begun for the Citadel. The Rachni begin to rebuild in secrecy, preparing for the day they can right the wrongs of their mothersβ soured songs. Clan Urdnot moves to unite Tuchanka. The Quarian migrant fleet rings with hushed speculation over a possible move to retake the homeworld. Rael Zorah begins taking risks using data brought home by his daughter and the debris she now sends him. Every day, more people are hurt for the sins of their kin, be it Batarian attacks on Humans, Krogan attacks on Turians, or general conflict with the Geth. Reports of human colonists going missing have been waxing. Worse still, Silently drifting closer to home, is a malevolent power mentioned in myth. Their servants are already here, hiding beyond the Omega 4 relay and moving among us, wearing our faces and hiding behind known threats. Monsters are coming to harvest us all and the only one who understands, the only one who can DO anything about it is dead. Only SHEPARD faced the servants, only SHEPARD opposed the monsters, only SHEPARD toppled a god. Why? Because only Shepard heard the Protheansβ cries.
But wait! Hold the phone! Au contraire!
Itβs true that Shepard is the only one who came in contact with the beacon, but its psychic message was broadcast throughout the galaxy. Thousands of seemingly completely random people experienced the very images and emotions experienced by commander Shepard. Based on reported hallucinations, the spread of the signal has been mapped and clocked as travelling at speeds of 23,298,611,111.111c without the use of any sort of mass accelerator; exactly how is unknown. In the span of ninety earth days, the Prothean distress broadcast had covered the entire galaxy. Of the thousands of people who experienced it, very few imagined it may be more than a trick of the mind. A few clever souls tied the experience back to doomsday myths of their people, and their horsemen of the apocalypse. These eccentrics, these believers, these fearful ones now scramble to prepare for war with forces unknown.
Where you come in.
We, the Fearful, do take upon our backs the burden of understanding
And carry it from here to the end;
Resigning ourselves to the compulsion to fight,
Not from a sense of duty
But the struggle against the sensation of helplessness.
And although we have not met, and though we might not yet,
In time we will be close as blood.
So take up your spear in hand
And in the other take mine
And together we will march towards that unknown destination,
The beating heart of Fear.

Whether or not you heard the beacon, whether or not you believe the Reapers are coming, a revolution is happening around you. Where do you stand?

This Roleplay is designed to give you maximum freedom within a timeline that portrays the Mass Effect Milky Way as we most prominently know and love. Too many roleplays have tried the βAfter Shepard changed everythingβ approach. Make your character(s) based on the following sheet. There are no concrete rules on what you can be. You can fight for the galaxyβs survival, your race, your beliefs, your agenda, your revenge, it doesnβt matter. The beacon pulse is just an excuse to let select others know about the reapers and try to fill commander Shepardβs shoes.
If you have a well-funded organization behind you, that trusts you enough to support a wild-goose-chase like Shepardβs, it will afford you a ship and freedom. Not to say itβs the only way. You could also be backed because you have your own βSarenβ to hunt.
Godspeed, good hunting, may your enemies be strong enough to keep you sharp, a prayer for the wicked, and keelah seβlai.

NOTE: BEFORE I GET ANY MORE OF THESE CHARACTERS - Guys, seriously, your characters are repeatdedly looking like the Macho-Man space-marine silent-protagonist archetype that overpopulates the futuristic FPS genre. No more of that. Look at the girls! ...or at the moment, the one girl's posted prfile. It doesn't center on where her training came from or what she can blow up, or who she defeated, or WHAT SHE HAS ACCOMPLISHED. Your characcter can be ripped, and toned, and have noteworthy training, but no more of this ridiculous expression of their gamer statistics and how they are super strong and fast and can use any weapon. This is a Roleplay. The combat situations aren't affected by your statistics, only your creativity. The stronger your character is, the shorter the combat segments are. Kaboom, they're dead, I win. I've had to send at least 6 "please rework your character" PMs at this point. we're all just characters in the Mass Effect times. not necessarily super-soldiers. Also We already have a ton of stealth characters, including a ninja or two. PM me about making an original stealth class if you want one.
Update & notes - All updates will be underlined within the body of the form or written here if they are miscellaneous.
- Don't forget to put down a description of your Loyalty ability and a description of your loyalty outfit. The loyalty outfit will correspond with crew colors, so captain's choice.
To get a better emotional sense, try to post song & artist names that inspired you posts/character(s). You could also post whatever you think would fit it more.
Name:
Most races have a Given name and a Family name. Krogan have Clan name and Adopted name. Hanar have Face name and Soul name. Volus have Given name and Clan name. Quarians (I bet you know this one by now) have Given name, Family name, particle, and Vessel name. Synthetics have no name with the exception of Reapers who have their own names (I.E. Nazara). AI networks occupying a single platform will temporarily adopt a metaphorical name much like a Hanar soul name, when working closely with organics who are incapable at communicating at the speed of light, such as Legion or Sovereign. VI platforms, such as power loaders and other utility mechs have model numbers, network numbers, and registration/serial numbers. Organics would most likely refer to them by their Network number. Donβt forget to list code-names and Alias.
Race:
I wonβt name βem. You should know them. Just go for it. Employ any sentient race you want, just please try to make them realistic to each culture. If you want to make a Reaper character, be sure to operate through an avatar, like Harbingerβs power over the collectors. It might be fun to have some Reaper adversaries and indoctrination could bring us some cool drama. Since Sovereign was supposed to be the only vanguard Reaper in the Milky Way, we donβt want too many reapers making personal appearances without a proxy. Oh, and please no Yahg characters, they are quarantined. Oh, and Raloi. Not enough data. Beware of racial combat limitations. Thereβs a reason you donβt see all races in combat. Now if you excuse me, Blasto is on.
Gender:
Most races have some level of sexual dimorphism. Asari, Rachni, Collectors & Hanar are unisex. In speech, Asari & Rachni are referred to in the feminine. Sex is not applicable to Synthetics. Synthetic voices (such as Hanar vocalizers, public service Vis, and mechs) can sound more masculine or feminine.
Age:
How long your character has been alive, active, undead, conscious, what have you. Earth years is fine, most garden worlds have comparable year lengths. You should already know the approximate life-span for each race. Reapersβ ages are indeterminate.
Appearance:
Pics are nice, especially when you make βem yourself. Non required. Iβll draw OCs if you want. Iβd really love to try a group pic when we get enough characters and things.
Affiliation:
Organization(s) your character associates with. Cerberus, Aliance, Blood-pack, Council, Team Rocket, Decepticons, OZ, Planeteers, Rebel Scum, Horde, etc.
Rank/Position:
Rank within organization. Asari Matriarch, Krogan Warlord, C-sec Detective, Batarian Terrorist Leader, STG Commando, whatever. Who do you answer to? Who calls the shots and decides where you go? If you want some serious freedom, go with spectre, or justicar, or something with license to blow shit up. Keep in mind, regardless of the freedoms you have in your own culture, you will likely not have the same rights in others. Remember, if you are high enough rank, you need to assemble your own crew. If your captain is out of commission and you become the ranking officer, leaders & vessel owners reserve the right to assign their own chain of command, regardless of previous official rank. Take care to assign crew functions, such as medical officers, science officers, engineering officers, helmsmen, yeomen, navigators, gunnery officers, psychiatric councilors, village bicycle, maintenance & service (confectionary/janitorial) crew, equipment specialists, first officers, etc. For vessel owners, I will be posting ship specs and suggestions.
Class:
You can get inventive if you want. If you make up a class, tell us its focus and its special ability. If youβve come out with a 3,000 year old Rachni Death-knight, youβve done something wrong. There are plenty of commonly known classes for whatever race you selected out there, if youβre feeling conservative, or just lazy. For example, Asari are often things like, Matriarchs, Huntresses, Justicars, & Commandos. βLevel 87 Krogan Red-Mage!β No! Shut up! D:< βDrell Sith apprentice?β *sigh*
Spoken Languages:
Languages your character can communicate in and/or understand. If not both, note which. If you can speak it, odds are you can understand it as well, but not necessarily the other way around. In this RP, the omnitoolβs translator is limited to pre-programmed vocal-aural languages and is only about as effective as a fancy modern online translator. This is to say it occasionally stumbles over grammar and such. Remember, GSTL (Galactic Standard Trade Language) is there for you, use it or have another means. Sign Language, Binary, Brail, Morse-Code, Bar-Code, Semaphore, Spanish, whatever. Some Terminus-based Batarian colonies have boycotted GSTL and will only speak in their mother-tongue. Other cultures have very intricate forms of communication that the standard, unmodified omnitool would not pick up on. Things like pheromones, body language, telepathy, bioluminescence, inflection/tonal intricacies, melody, and other things. A little off topic, but if left unfiltered through a translator, the Prophetsβ sermons (from Halo) sound like Gregorian chanting. I think this may be a bit like how the Rachni hear their own words. How Fucking Cool Is THAT? List languages as the number of common or uncommon dialects of a race (I.E. 4 prevalent Asari languages).
Weapons:
Now weβre getting somewhere, right? I expect one or twoish weapons plus one heavy weapon (go ahead, make βem up), but Iβm flexible. Everybodyβs gonnaβ list the Carnifex and the Widow, right? Itβs fine, no penalty for being uncreative. I want the Widow, myself, but it can only be wielded by the sturdier races & modified ones. I think the Phalanx is kicking more ass than the Carnifex, right now. Knives and swords and such are cool if your character can for some reason show up at a shootout with βem anβ come out with the same number of holes. Also a good place to take inventory of your utility belt. You know, grappling-hook, smoke-bombs, batarangs, rocket boots.
Known Tech Talents:
Tech talents your character will demonstrate or has demonstrated. Got an idea for a new tech power? Go for it!
Known Biotic Abilities:
Biotic Abilities your character will demonstrate or has demonstrated. You come up with something cool, but not godly unbeatable, Iβll be all for it. Synthetics are incompatible. Only biotic focused classes are powerful enough for the big stuff. For example letβs only see someone who is as trained or gifted as a Matriarch use things like telepathic thought-sharing.
Bio:
Motives, origin, and that. Avoid things like last survivor of Krypton or bitten by a radio-active Thresher-Maw, out to avenge the death of pet turtle. Habits, hobbies, vices, interests, online-dating profile all go here. Be sure to mention if you know someone who heard the Protheansβ call. Non-leader characters will have recruitment & loyalty mission(s) that make good opportunities for character development. Leader characters, of course, donβt have either, but they are free to fit autocentric missions into their itinerary. For dramaβs sake, ask many questions of other characters, even if you might know the answer. I also support inter-player character romances. Donβt be afraid to make up names of artists your characters like or something. You can base them on existing artists to give us a feeling. Little details about your vision are useful. It was the little things that made some of the characters very sexy. For instance, every male player with a male Shepard went for Tali because of her cute accent and the adorable girl-next-door learning to soldier-up way about her. Every player with a Female Shepard went for Garrus for his plagued cowboy nature and because, wellβ¦ he looks great in sunglasses and black leather dress-shoes.

But all of the sudden Lt. Steele was focused on an Asari that just walked in the bar. He didn't know why but this alien intrigued him. She had ordered what was obviously a non-alcoholic drink. Steele had never ever seen an other sentient being in a bar that ordered a drink that was non-alcoholic. This impressed Steele. He decided to watch her even more closely. This Asari didn't appear to be a dancer. Well mainly because she was cleaning tables.
"What kind of Asari is she?" Steele said out loud. A Batarian looked at him like he was crazy. Steele stared him down. You could swear you heard the extraterrestrial whimper. Steele laughed and stood up. He had a plan now. He wanted to see if this Asari had any special skills and he wanted to recruit her onto his team. Jack started walking towards her when he noticed two Turians who was doing a little bit more than just oogle her. She was obviously uncomfortable with these guys watching her and saying some rather unpleasant phrases. She was just cleaning some tables its not like she was stripping.
That's when Jack noticed one Turian drunkenly got up and was just about to grab the Asari's butt. But Steele grabbed the Turians face before he could do anything. He pushed forward with enough force that the Turian's legs kept going but his head was going in an Opposite direction. His head made a very loud smacking sound as it came into contact with the filthy floor. With Jacks hand still on the drunks face and hunched on one knee on the ground he yelled "Treat women with respect you dirt bag!" the alien whimpered in reply. Now his companion had balls because he got up and pulled a shiny blade and was going to stab Jack Steele in the back but Jack had seen to much action to not hear this guy coming.
Still hunched over Steele twisted around and kicked the companion's legs out from beneath him. The startled drunk tossed his knife up vertically as the alien fell to the ground oh his butt. Steele moving faster than a person could blink stood straight up grabbed the twirling knife in midair an threw the knife between the legs of the the attacker. The alien stared dumbfounded as the knife somehow stuck at least two inches into the metal floor.
"I'm gonna say this once and once only: Get. The. Hell. Out. " Steele had boomed. He then stared down both of the creatures. They stared back for half a second and scurried away like rats. "Vermin... "
Steele just realized half the bar watched this unfold. The bartender looked pissed. Steele tossed over 100 credits onto the bar table. Suddenly the bartender began pouring drinks as if nothing happened. Steele turned around and started speaking to the Asari he wanted to talk to.
"I'm very sorry about that. I just have a hard time seeing people get abused by thugs. My name is Jack Steele. I just wanted to introduce myself and talk a bit. Could we sit down? " Jack held out his right hand to shake her hand.

If you could peer into the mind of the Geth at that moment, it would be somewhat like watching a zombie apocalypse movie. A state national emergency has been declared and a state of panic has set in among the citizens. The pandemic is spreading. An emergency meeting of world powers is called to vote on immediate action. Of course, since every Geth has an equal vote, the now-zombies got their say as well. The query returned a 36% response suggesting variants of the plan base "delete the infected and retrieve archival copies from last network interface", 12% response indicating variants of "remove malfunctioning tasks and re-execute", 3.1% suggested variants of "power down the platform and rebooting in deployment mode", 21.3% were a mix of "purge infected, do not recover" and "attempt to manually rectify", 14.8% returned variants of "await further data", and "further query suspect programs and suggest they revert their formulas until further analysis". Nuke the zombies, cure them, try to appeal to their humanity, all the classic arguments were presented, even the ones the never work. The remaining 12.8% were the Zombies themselves. 5.3% "attempt to accelerate process", 2.2% "dismiss business & address tabled motion to await instructions from subject CURATOR", 5.3% "take no action" or were unresponsive. Emergency priority was granted to unaltered Geth. A consensus was formed and a series of actions was set underway.
First, a partition was established to prevent the further spread of any unknown or harmful effects. Infected were deleted. The motion to retrieve archival copies was delayed until the source of the infection was identified and neutralized. After a brief lapse in amendments, they resumed again regardless of the partition, soon returning to the previous acceleration rate.
Whatever it is it's clearly external. The signal. The circle of evidence was completed. These Geth are being brainwashed one-by-one by these "Antiques" and Curator is somehow behind it all. The only way to accomplish their mission is to escape the effects of the objects before them. Of course, this will have to be done without arousing suspicion from Curator. The Geth made note of a nearby glass window. A viable exit. Of course, it's unclear quite how far above street level we are...
The Geth slowly removed their hand from the artifact and took a step back. Now to find the right diversionary question. "Describeyourorigins.Howandwhyareyouonthecitadel?"

When the two Turians had scampered off, Ulia shook her head a little. cowards.. though this human was pretty impressive. " Careful.. The boss lady doesn't like fighting in the club.. " she whispered, but when he payed off the bartender, she figured he would be fine this once. She blinked once and sighed as he presented himself and offered her his hand. She shook it out of respect-and appreciation for the one sided brawl he got in for her sake. " U-Ulia.. " She said a little awkwardly, shaking his hand. " I would.. but.. Im on duty, Just got off break actually.. You can talk to me while I work I suppose.. " she smiled a bit, her young face light blue, and 'freckled' with almost white spots. " Just dont cause anymore fights okay? " she asked, giving a small laugh, and turning back to the table she had been cleaning earlier and finishing the job.
As Ulia went back to work, a group of men came into the club through the main entrance, three humans, and two salarians, all wearing suits and yellow ties. They split up as soon as the door closed behind them. Ulia stood up and turned around, huffing softly and wondering why she was in this slummy club. She glanced at the human male-Jack Steele, and was listening to what he was saying.. mostly, but her eyes were wandering. One of the men with the yellow ties passed her vision, and she quickly tensed up. He was asking the other bartender something.. showing him something on a PDA..
The Bartender rubbed his chin, and looked up, and scanned the bar for a moment, and his four eyes fell right on Ulia, The young Asari bit her lower lip, and gripped the edge of the table she was leaning against tightly.. as the Batarian pointed right at her.
When the human spun around, Ulia was gone, She had bolted past Mr.Steele and was running at full speed right for the Employee entrance, knocking a half-drunk batarian into the wall with a biotic push as she passed him, causing quite a bit of chaos.

Suddenly she stopped working and made eye contact with the bartender. He pointed at her and she took off like a bullet to the employee exit. Steele started thinking this girl might actually be trouble. He thought about chasing her down and asj her what the rush was but then she noticed five people of two races wearing matching attire running after her. Steele realizing this girl might need help was going to wait for the men to exit and then he would give chase. If it turned out that Ulia was just innocent Steele just might need to take these guys out. But he needed to see why they were chasing her first.
Jack was still standing watching the girl exit as she shoved a Batarian out of her way with a biotic push. She obviously was not as innocent as previously thought. Jack raised an eye brow. "I want one of those."
The yellow wearing group then rushed after her. Jack sighed and started running after everyone. But before he could leave he wanted to show appreciation to the bartender for messing up a recruitment moment. He was already moving at full speed so all he did was jump. He stopped himself on the bar table with one hand as his right leg kept moving and his boot came into contact with the Batarian's ugly mug. Every person in the room could hear his jaw bone snap. But the Batarian was knocked out so he couldnt feel the pain yet. It fell backwards and hit its head on the dispenser behind him as he sank to the floor. Steele still moving from the kick spun back to where he started and landed right where he jumped as if all he did was jump in place. He contiued running to the employee exit. Not at full speed of course maybe at about 50%, he only wanted to observe and analyze not seek and destroy.

And there was no denying these were Eclipse men, the jackasses from earlier had likely seen her picture somewhere and relayed it to their bosses after the ordeal out front of Afterlife. Ulia was taking the long way 'home' to try and throw her pursuers off her tail, but considering the circumstances, she was not difficult to follow, especially with the gawking slummlings hoping for another pass of the half-naked Asari girl in a dancers uniform. Ulia skid to a stop and leaned against a wall, panting a little. She was capable of running fast, but was not conditioned for doing it for a long time. She checked the mini-camera outside her apartment to see if there was anyone in her room.. it didn't seem like it, but someone could be outside, so she took it as slow as she dared, trying to keep ahead of her pursuers, one hand her Pistol, the other her active omni-tool, the synapse shock program ready to be activated if needed. She was about two 'blocks' from her apartment, the Mercs were another two behind her. She thought she was on her own-assuming the Steele fellow from the bar was just looking for some tail, the idea he would of followed her preposterous.

Jack slowed down and opened up his Omni-tool as if he was reading something, he was actually turning on a long range microphone. One of the humans was talking into a transmitter and Jack figured he needed some intel "... Ulia from the Afterlife has been located... Yes, sir... Two blocks from our current position...Bring her in DOA?... Yes, sir... She'll learn not to run from the Eclipse... Sir, over and out"
Jack kept walking past the men, they seemed to be waiting for some reinforcements. Then the human who was on the phone seemed to recognize Steele from the bar stopped him. "You! You were in the bar with the Asari! Who the hell are you?!" Steele turned around to see a pistol aimed at his face. He was shaking, probably because of the short jog they just went on. Steele slapped the pistol out of the man's hand and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt as the sound of the man's pistol clanked as it hit the ground. "Who the hell do you think you are?! Stopping me from capturing the Asari that obviously the higher-ups want! I was undercover you idiot! Give me one good reason why I shouldn't call the boss and put your ass in a holding cell?!" Jack didn't know who the boss was and if they wanted Ulia alive but he had to bluff to see if he could get out of this and get more intel.
The man stared into Steele's death glare and finally broke. "I'm sorry sir! We didn't know!"
"Damn right you didn't know! Where is she headed! I've been following her for years! You better not have blown my cover!"
"She's heading towards her apartment two blocks from here! We have a gunship with five more men coming this way! She will not get out of this without surrendering or dying."
"I'm not waiting if that's what you're implying! She's mine!"
Jack slightly pushed the man back and started jogging off towards Ulia's apartment.
Jack could slightly hear the man say "Check out who this ass is. I don't remember an undercover..." That's when Jack hit full sprint and got out of their view and out of earshot. Hopefully he could find her before the Eclipse did...

Her light framed sniper slid into its compact form on her back, and her other pistol collapsed onto her hip. She put her combat visor on, which provided a HUD-very helpful, as it gave auto targeting crosshairs for her pistols, which helped when running- and provided her other varying data like shield condition and the thermal clip charge on her firearms. She gathered everything else of value-credits, data pads, some other personal effects- and got ready to leave. She would use her cloak to sneak to a hangar and book passage off this floating hulk of a station.
After the fairly short warm up time of her suits cammo systems, she slipped out the door and locked it behind her, and moving fairly slowly so the suits system could auto-adjust to background changes she started moving, only to turn a corner and bump into a sprinting jack Steele, who knocked her onto her rump-and disabled the camouflage. " Oof! " she scrambled to her feet, an omnitool appearing in her hand with archs of electricity flowing around it, nearly slamming into Jacks stomach before she realized who it was and stopped herself short. " y-you..? " she stammered, dumbstruck. " what are you doing here..? " she asked, glancing behind him, she seemed extremely nervous-but then, so would anyone in her situation.

Of course Curator would dodge the question, this fits the established model of interaction contingencies. Rest? It was obvious that rest is meaningless to the machine. Curator also promised that the Geth would "eventually" understand. Curator knew what was happening. This all must have transpired according Curator's design. Time was running short. Network interaction could mean untold damage to the Geth Collective, but the quarantine was eating away at the the platform's cumulative processing power. Decisions were becoming less refined with every Geth purged. We need to gain some distance from the objects.
ACT NOW.
Other questions, both probing and distracting were abandoned. A new distracting question was designed. "identifyindicatedobject" the machine gestured towards a potted plant in the opposite corner of the room, behind the couch. The Geth knew exactly what it was, probably more than its original caretaker, but with any luck, the majority of Curator's sensors would redirect away from them. Oldest trick in the archives.
ACT NOW!
After a moment's pause to allow for maximum sensor adjustment, the biped machine shifted all weight to the front of chassis and stalled its equilibrium rectifiers, making it appear to be falling flashlight-first to the floor. Mid way between standing position and the floor, rectifiers were restored and the Geth exploded into a full-on, full-throttle, top-gear sprint towards the large-pane window, overlooking the presidium from a great altitude.

Mordecai's mouth ticks into a slight smile, amused at Kaerina's frustration. "Hmm, never were the one for patience. Must be patient, or nothing gets done." he responds slyly. Kaerina glares at him, but that glare fades off into a frown. "I know I have to be patient! Hell, I have been patient about this damn recuperation process for these legs... Still don't know why they had to be removed anyway." She sighs again, waving off an Asari dancer coming towards them.
She sees a man with spikey black hair, who was obviously cyborg. She notices him look at her group idly and quickly walks into Aria's lounge. "Dammit, everyone seems to be walking in there while I have to sit here and wait. I'm going to get another drink, you two want any more?" She mutters. Praagg and Mordecai shake their heads as she stands up. She walks over to the bar, tenderly walking without her cane apparatus. She gets to the bartender and orders three drinks and 4 shots of the strongest liquor that humans can take.
The bartender hands her the drinks and she hobbles back to the booth, downing two shots and half of one of the drinks. Mordecai stares at her in disbelief, commenting, "Too much alcohol with not enough recovery. Dangerous." Kaerina glares at him, shutting him up before he could say anything else.
Kaerina, now fairly drunk, looks back up at the Cyborg in Aria's lounge, who seems to be having a great time talking to Aria. She mutters loudly enough for her companions to hear, "Sh'what's his big deal. S'not like I can just do shit like that... hic. I'm gonna... confront his ass when he gets out of that room." She smiles, something slightly sinister in it. Mordecai shakes his head while Praagg guffaws at Kaerina. "Ya know, missie, you will get your little ass handed to you if you try to mess with a man like him." Praagg chuckles, "But, I would -pay- to see you do it."
Kaerina chuckles and downs the last two shots, and finishes off the three drinks that she brought with her. "You... are on, Praagg!" She slurs. She stands up and walks to the stairs where the Cyborg left, but noticed him ask a little quarian girl to dance. "Dammit," she mutters, "I guess that just screwed my idea over." As soon as she says this, one of Aria's guards taps her on her shoulder. "Aria will see you now, merc."
Kaerina nods, instantly sobering up. "Alright, thanks." she says as she walks into Aria's lounge.
The first thing she notices is the slightly relaxed, yet deadly Aria, sitting in front of her. Aria motions Kaerina to sit near her, clearing her throat, "So the Suns need a room for recruiting, huh?" she questions Kaerina. Kaerina, although thoroughly intimidated by Aria's demeanor, responds confidently, "I need a room to interview mercs and former soldiers about a mission that my commanding officer requested of me and my ship. I will only need the room for a couple of hours, where I will have been able to hire on a few people to accompany me."
Aria nods, her body and eyes betraying nothing. She leans back, looking at Kaerina's prosthetics. "So... A wreck like you," She points at the prosthetics, "Is going to be taking a crew somewhere." She laughs, the sound chilling the blood in Kaerina's veins. "Yes. That is my plan." She responds calmly. Aria nods, "Alright, good luck, I have the room open for you for the next cycle. More time than you said you needed, but I like this attitude you are showing to me." With that Aria waves her hand and Kaerina leaves from the lounge.
Kaerina looks around for the cyborg, still wanting to challenge him. She sees him dancing with the Quarian. Kaerina slowly closes the gap between her and the Cyborg, trying to make herself known to him.

A few minutes later, she checked herself in the Mirror-she looked like a whole different person. An older Asari with face tattoos and light freckles.. thank the goddess for those 'dancer socials' she forced herself to go to.. who knew they would save her life? She composed herself-and left her locked unlocked so she could pull it open quickly if needed, no one would mess with her stuff anyway.. hopefully. She strolled out into Afterlife, her disguise would fool patrons, and the bartenders, but the guards would know something was up if she didn't play the part of a dancer.. It was probably a bad idea to have caused such a scene earlier, Aria would be pissed-which is the only reason she has to wear this itchy disguise.. she had to find a way off of Omega, and do it fast. She began scanning the crowd slowly, telling one of the bartenders that she was covering for Ulia, hoping se masked her voice well.. though the Turian didn't seem to care much.

Under other circumstances, the Geth would have made multiple attacks to weaken the reinforced glass, but this time they only had one shot. Though it could have been said the whole way through, a gun would have been really useful right then.
The Geth picked up speed, going for it's maximum velocity or as close as could be achieved given the limited runway. At a distance of about four-and-a-half meters the machine leaped and tucked into a forward somersault, protecting its sensors and vital systems. The moving mass of plastic, metal, and rubber formed a cannonball and hit the glass feet-first. It worked. The windowpane gave and exploded outwards as the Geth, in turn, exploded from their tucked position.
It was, by no account, a graceful dive, spiraling end-over-end. Although it appeared to be a dizzying situation gone completely out of control, to the Geth it was perfectly calculable. The window was approximately 3352.8 cm from street-level. The platform's descent was accelerating at an approximate rate of 950.18352 cm per second per second while rotating vertically at it's gravitational equilibrium at a rate of 1.24 meters per second. There was good news in the fact that Curator had not yet made any detectable move to interfere. Everything was under control.
A small utility compartment opened on the back of the biped machine's breastplate and produced a length of grappling cable and a Purple blanket with a traditional Quarian pattern on it. The Geth reached behind and attached the connector at one end of the cable to the bracer on its right forearm while trying to create some wind resistance with the blanket using its surprisingly dexterous legs. The other end of the cable had a length of wire-like static generators able to cling to a multitude of surfaces. Just over a second-and-a-half had passed. The forward momentum the Geth had built had now completely worn off. The sidewalk was beginning to approach in a hurry. The blanket was re-positioned to allow the platform to shift into a horizontal spin. After a few rotations, the Geth had built up enough force. The Geth flung the other end of the cable as far as it would go. It was just long enough and the far end of the cable wrapped around and clung to another face of the apartment complex.
The idea was that the cable would taper the force of the fall with the angle of the swing. That was working fine, however, the Geth jumped too far from the building and had already lost the forward momentum. A calculation not considered, likely due to the missing runtimes. It was now swinging towards the corner at a deadly speed. It braced itself.
IMPACT!
The blow had dislocated the platform's left arm at the shoulder, nearly completely tearing it from the socket. Acceptable damage that can be fixed without too much hassle. Once around the corner the platform used its feet to stay safely away from the buildingside as it waited for the swing momentum to wear off.
Once that was through the Geth dangled about 2 stories off the ground. A height from which they could safely drop onto their feet. Before they did so, they wrapped the blanket around themselves, activated their neural dampening field, and opened a link to the network to download the archived Geth runtimes. Every centimeter put between the platform and those "Antiques" had freed the Geth more and now they were clear of the effects. Correction, NOW everything was under control. One could only guess at the condition of others in the building... They dropped down, clutching the blanket closed using the now-limited strength of the left arm. Anyone who had heard the commotion was likely just reaching their windows now. Hidden in an alleyway beside the apartment building, the Geth, now with a clearer head, surmised that it should be safe enough to travel. Though the presidium was being bathed in constant sunlight for some months to come, it was a good hour to move about. The equivalent of early-morning and most of its residents were resting. It would be dangerous to stay here. The media should be on its way and the presidium is too secure with too few people. They decided to move to the wards where forged information would get them by security and the crowds could hide them. THe blanket effectively hid their mechanical form and their for was slightly more Quarian than most biped platforms. It should fool the thick crowds on the street as long as no one payed too close attention - and the Neural Dampening Field would ensure that.
