Lawrence

In the annuls of the historical proceedings of this war the battle for the Gatwashiim Peninsula could only be practically considered as a defeat for Metargo thought Laurence.

The events of the day from the achievement of his first successively confirmed "kills" to his subsequent failure to protect the Titan's beloved captain weight heavily on the young man. Instead, Laurence distanced his thoughts from his view of the battlefield as an individual and instead attempted… admittedly futilely the impartiality of an observing scholar.

Both sides had come with the full expectations of a decisive battle which would decide the war and bring the opposition unto the negotiation table. However both had found themselves in an all too vague battle of attrition which yielded no conclusive results beyond inflicted and taken losses.

Arguably it had been a draw but Laurence's father often said that there was rarely such a thing as a draw; Benjlak had been on the defensive seeking to preserve a strategic zone while Metargo had been an attacker attempting to attain it. Metargo had failed to gain the foothold while Benjlak had preserved its territorial integrity. But there was a redeeming factor involved; The Benjlakki parry to the attack had been severely blunted ,therefor Metargo could still retain the initiative and thereby the offensive in this conflict despite this serious setback.

Laurence's thoughts finally where forced to turn on the question of the captains death, he could not deny that he had failed in his responsibility. The prospect of bagging a few more kills had moved Laurence out of formation… sure at the time the incoming mech's seemed to pose a threat but in hindsight there was no need for him to engage them.

After landing Laurence didn't talk much, it was not long before Bibiana turned up and carted him off to an as of yet unfamiliar area of the Titan. Bibiana seemed to be better composed now, maybe she was feeling sorry for him but Laurence could not really say.
"Laurence, my office is this way." Said Bibiana as they arrived at the door.

When he entered Laurence was surprised as the size of the dorm and its relative privacy; although he was a noble even his overbearing father would not dream of depriving his son of the experience of "field quarters".

"This is the two of us will be staying in between battles. I personally requested that from Captain Ire, before the now-over battle, that is. We're engaged, anyway, right? So, we might as well get used to that fact." Said Bibiana much to Laurence's surprise; he had only recently started getting to know her so it seemed to be a premature arrangement, but then again they were engaged after all; a fact Laurence was clearly not used too.

Laurence didn't quite know how he felt about sharing quarters with Bibiana but as usual she didn't leave him much time to make his opinion heard. Bibiana handed over a supplement which Laurence reluctantly accepted, as he sat down however both hunger and giddiness came over him; he really could use one or two of the shakes after all.

"Not so glamorous once you're actually in a fight for your life, is it?" said Bibina as Laurence drained the supplement ferociously. Energized Laurence found that he was now more able to indulge in conversation.

"Ohh, it Is still glamorous! The problem is that the glamorous sortie of battle is like a vintage brandy clearly labeled and said to be able to knock anyone out after a single sip. None the less people will still take the challenge and taste the brandy only to face the next sunrise with a flame ridden head.

You would think that people would be deterred from tasting that brandy again but, once you have been so high other sensations become unsatisfactory and dull in comparison…"
said Laurence, firstly with wit and pun intended but then as he finished sentence quite soberly.

Laurence didn't want to die and was not a savage blood driven berserker and yet whenever the Titan was withdrawn from operations and he was given time out of the front Laurence most of all wanted that dangerous sensation running down his spine.

Leopold

"Captain, that mech pilot was already out of the fight…"

The words drowned upon the agonized Leopold, just like Benjamin Leopold wanted to yap at the naive faithful and remind him of the totality of war but he did not.

Memories of the past hour crept into Leopold's mind; he had been brutal… even when he had battered the enemy mech's power plant into scrap and gained its sword leaving it utterly defenseless he did not cease the fight and ran it through purposely via the cockpit area with an explicit intention of slaughtering the pilot.

Leopold nodded solemnly at Zech but did not say a word.

When Leopold finally encountered Sandra he was surprised with what she had to say of his work. Leopold did not share her optimistic appraisal of the situation but declined inviting ether criticism or investigation into his conduct. Outside critics have never been able to solve anything, only the responsible party so long as it had a measure of decency could learn the lessons of its own mistakes otherwise an outside party could only impose punishment and nothing more in his view.

Faith preserve... thought Leopold, if this war was to be one killing match after another it could take some time.

With your permission Ma"am" I would like to resume my duties.

Zechariah was found by Benjamin in the naval barracks of the Seraphim, working on yet another piece of solar technology. Ben sighed in pity; he knew this war would be tough on his little brother. Whereas Ben enlisted to continue the family legacy, Zech wanted no part of it. Ben walked up to him with, "What'cha working on?"

"An Ion Weaponry Core. Metargo already has a head start in that field, with their EMP stuff."

"Isn't that a little small to work with a mech's weapons?'

"This is just part of it. I'll be sure to ask for Olivia to help with finding parts. I already made some of the other parts. This one especially needs some work on now that I have witnessed what Metargo is capable of. Once the entire core is completed, it will be installed into one of the beam rifles."

"Better not lose it."

"I know."

Benjamin looked out the window. "Hey, uh... if it works, do you think it would change how wars are fought."

Zechariah glared at his brother. "I don't care about that. So long as I can prevent even one unnecessary death, that is what matters." Looking out that same window, he asked Benjamin, "You think there's the chance the Shapiro Twins are still alive?"

Ben nodded. "Most likely. I mean, they are a tough pair of gals, so I doubt they'd go down easily."

After a nod of the head, Zechriah contacted the Admiral by on the comm link, "Admiral, this is Zechariah Malachi. Benjamin and I are going to search for Chemda and Adira Shapiro. As I said before, we lost their signals along the shore. I doubt they were killed, since no enemy mech but that downed nuclear one was nearby them when it happened. We'll be back after the results of the search."

With that, the Malachi brothers got into their Eagles, launched, and the search was on. Ben smiled somewhat while telling his brother, "Zech, with how you kept Brown Wing Team together, you ought to be promoted to Sergeant."

"Stay on task, big brother."

---

Kyle ordered a whiskey and waited with Minmei, whom discussed Benjlakk and possibly marrying politician. The thought of her settling down made him laugh and give her a playful punch. "You're not going to go back in your shell once he expresses interest in you, are you?" Calming down a bit and letting go of his mischievous grin, he added, "Seriously, though, you first need to work on not being so shy once it is clear a guy likes you." His face solemn, now, he spoke some more. "Of course, none of that will matter if Benjlakk wins this war."

His whisky now in his hand, he took a sip before saying, "Prime Minister Lopez was an idiot to have challenged the Benjlakki Republic at all, and I'm not saying this to be unpatriotic. There's a reason no other country in this day and age would have dared consider it: all that have attacked or threatened our new enemies in the millennia-long history of Benjlakk's existence lost their sovereignty, with the Benjlakki Armed Forces killing off both military and government. Granted, President Anderson promised to pull away from that dark reputation should war be upon them, which it is, but I doubt he can prevent history from repeating itself. He may end up giving in to the pressure, in the end, should we lose. If that were to be the case, neither you, me, nor that politician your mother introduced you to would live through being hunted down and shot. The civilians will be fine, it is the government and military personnel that would not survive under such a scenario. That is how serious this war is, right now. It's not like any war we fought before; our sovereignty is at stake, now. It matters not whether we grab even a mile of Fertaninn away from the Benjlakki Republic, at this point. If we lose and Howard Anderson fails to uphold his promise that he made upon election into Benjlakk's presidential office, Metargo will fall due to a lust for revenge on our enemy's part. Nothing else matters."

Turning his head sideways in sadness, he added with another sip, "It's just as the King himself said before we left to fight: we may have 'bitten off more than we can chew'. Regardless, we must continue what we started and hopefully hold out long enough that negotiations may begin. We have the offensive now, but once about a fifth of our population starts complaining about a lack of food from the imports we were receiving from Benjlakk, we will be vulnerable to retaliation. We're in a race against time, right now. We've got to beat the crisis before it beats us. It's the only way we can hope to keep our own nation independent, unless Anderson pulls it off and Benjlakk offers to negotiate a treaty, for the first time."

Scoar listened closely to his fathers orders when it came to the girl. "I believe that if there was such a project, it might have been held under wraps. Maybe the girls situation is the same as Cains and no one but her is aware of it. Maybe she herself doesn't even know that she's altered. Any way you think of it, in the long run we'll have to wait for the medical calculation and for her to wake up. I'll worry about the what if's and the questions. I'm sure you have your hands full on your end. I'll give you another call if I find out anything worth hearing." Hanging up he went towards the elevator to talk to one of the docs in the infirmary area.
................................................................................................................................................

"All Brown Wings, regroup and head back to the Seraphim. We're in no state to continue the fight as we are, right now." Zechariah ordered.

Axl gave a sigh of boredom. "Well, I guess it's true what they say about war. More than half of it is waiting and retreating. How boring. I'd rather just go into combat and die while killing a couple people. What do you think Vika?" He said glancing in her direction. Even though it hadn't been long, the time spent together had proven to him that she was more reserved than anything else. He'd love to see her lash out and kill someone. Thinking about it more as he followed the rest of the Brown Wing Team, he started to think that maybe his turn on's were getting a bit out of his control. He decided to blow it off as stress for not having his plans move fast enough.
................................................................................................................................................

Cain glanced over at the girl once Barnett mentioned her. He didn't seem to think much into her question but studied her face. He could tell something about the girl bothered her. He thought he'd be bothered too if one of his enemies was on the bed next to him.

"I don't know her name." He said plainly and smiled a bit. "Apparently she attacked me with another person who looked just like her, most likely her twin. They were pretty strong for...." He almost let it slip that he wasn't normal. Clearing his throat he then continued. "For Benjlakk soldiers. However, I disarmed both of them. I brought her here for Scoar to question. Don't worry though. If she wakes up, I'll make sure you're safe." He said looking at the door.

Scoar walked through just as Cain had stopped talking. Closing the door behind him he gave a tiresome sigh. "Oh." He said noticing Barnett. "Nice to see you're up. I hope you'll be able to join the battle tomorrow. We could really use you. Oh yeah, Cain, You're gonna have to stay here for about an hour. I'll try to keep you company for as long as possible but things are hectic out there. The Captain went down in battle."

"Oh. I see. That's too bad."
"Yeah. I suppose I'll go talk to my mom later but first I have to watch the nurse come in and draw blood from this girl. We suspect that something may be wrong with her. She may have the same 'cold' that you once had."

Cain's eyes narrowed a bit as he looked at the ceiling. "I see."

Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Prince Scoar. Can you tell me again how the girl became unconscious." The nurse said, poking her head into the room.
Scoar once again sighed and said, "I'll be back you two." as he left the room.

In returning to the mothership she down graded her protection gear into rather limited clothing that only really covered her genitalia and well as look somewhat appealing to the eye by morphing the outfit into so... She then walked by Axl once more, he looked at him rather indifferent. ''Killing is easier than just being patient I see... I prefer to strike when least expected. But If I must run in then so be it. I am made to take more damage than others... Painful... But necessary.'' She then looked forward again, stretching her arms, accidentally nudging Axl and she looked at him with concern. ''Are you sick? You're core temperature is higher than usual..''

Bibi raised an eyebrow towards Laurence's response, to which she responded with, "I guess so." Taking a sip of her own shake, she continued with, "Well, at any rate, don't let it go to your head, especially given Benjlakk's darker nature. Once the Benjlakki Republic is provoked, its people are relentless. We may not expect another battle for a week, but I'd rather not drop my guard, regardless. If our enemy manages to go on the offensive and force us on the defensive, Benjlakk's history may repeat itself, meaning Metargo's sovereignty could end up lost, just like that of every other nation that attacked them." Looking sideways in a bit of sadness, she decided to change the subject by saying, "On a different note, the reason I took up working on machinery was to have some sense of freedom, but my dad butted in on even that and made me learn about military technology to go with the sorts I wanted to focus on. All this nobility stuff is kind of a drag. I mean, your whole future decided for you? Where's the fun in that? The "common" folk have it easy in that regard: they have more room to move about." Turning her head so she faced Laurence, again, she added, "Look, I'm still going along with this engagement. It'll still take some getting used to on my part. That, and I know you probably feel awkward about all this, too."

----

On the Seraphim, crewmen who saw Viola in her revealing clothing (which was completely against protocol) felt awkward and irritated at the same time. Nobody knew what the people who designed her thought, but in the Navy's eyes, she was not exempt from following the same military codes as any other sentient being in the Benjlakki Armed Forces. Why her misconduct in matters of clothing has been ignored for so long was anybody's guess.

There were even whispers spreading around about Axl, whom few Benjlakki sailors trusted. For all they knew, he could be a spy. No matter the circumstances, all that could be done was wait.

"I don't know her name." Cain said plainly and smiled a bit. "Apparently she attacked me with another person who looked just like her, most likely her twin. They were pretty strong for...." He hesitated for a moment. Barnett gave a curious look but decided not to ask about his hesitation. Clearing his throat Cain then continued. "For Benjlakk soldiers. However, I disarmed both of them. I brought her here for Scoar to question. Don't worry though. If she wakes up, I'll make sure you're safe." He said looking at the door.

Barnett smiled that was free of worry, and replied. “Thanks Cain, I’m in good hands with you here.”

Scoar walked through just as Cain had stopped talking. Closing the door behind him he gave a tiresome sigh. "Oh." He said noticing Barnett. "Nice to see you're up. I hope you'll be able to join the battle tomorrow. We could really use you.”

Barnett brushed a lock of blonde hair behind her ear and replied, “I should be off of bed rest by tomorrow but the doctor said that I’m only cleared for analyst duties until he gives the word. So it seems sailor multi might be idle for a short while. Thanks Prince Scoar.” Barnett thought it nice how the royal family of Metargo was so approachable.

Scoar continued, “Oh yeah, Cain, You're gonna have to stay here for about an hour. I'll try to keep you company for as long as possible but things are hectic out there. The Captain went down in battle."

"Oh. I see. That's too bad." Cain replied.

Knock. Knock. Knock.
"Prince Scoar. Can you tell me again how the girl became unconscious." The nurse said, poking her head into the room.
Scoar once again sighed and said, "I'll be back you two." as he left the room.

“I wonder who she is? If she does have a twin, I’m sure she’s really worried about her. I heard that twins can often be even closer than usual siblings.” Barnett said as she stared at the young woman. Barnett glanced over at the flowers that were gifted mysteriously to her earlier and thought they’d make for a more upbeat subject change. “So Cain, I’ve received these flowers earlier and I think they’re quite lovely. I mean gosh a girl has to literally be in a hospital bed to get a bouquet of flowers these days!” She joked with a giggle. “Minmei thinks they’re from a secret admirer. I told her, ‘yeah right, I thought the guys would stop admiring me when I took this load off my chest!” She joked again. After her laughter subsided she took a more thoughtful tone, “But seriously, it would be nice if they were from someone nice that showed interest in me. Someone nice in the middle of so much trouble.” She started at the flowers as if lost in thought.

Minmei Mindori

Kyle ordered a whiskey and waited with Minmei, whom discussed Benjlakk and possibly marrying politician. The thought of her settling down made him laugh and give her a playful punch. "You're not going to go back in your shell once he expresses interest in you, are you?" Calming down a bit and letting go of his mischievous grin, he added, "Seriously, though, you first need to work on not being so shy once it is clear a guy likes you." His face solemn, now, he spoke some more. "Of course, none of that will matter if Benjlakk wins this war."

Minmei rolled her eyes playfully, “I guess. Funny thing is that he doesn’t make me feel nervous, even when I’d imagine him being interested in me. I don’t know why that is.” Minmei replied.

His whisky now in his hand, he took a sip before saying, "Prime Minister Lopez was an idiot to have challenged the Benjlakki Republic at all, and I'm not saying this to be unpatriotic. Minmei sighed, “It seems thing keep getting darker and darker. The Benjlakk sure seem merciless considering how you describe the possible outcome should we lose. So it sounds like either we leave them alone or conquer them, or they defeat us and subjugate us. Now they don’t seem as innocent as some like to paint them in that light. But I’ve heard and said enough about the enemy. Let’s talk about you. Any personal stake you’ve got in this war?”

Karen Lunaria

The queen smiled as she began to speak to Jin. He gave a slight bow and Introduced himself as Jin-Giro

“I am horrible with the military ranking system, please forgive me. May I call you Jin?” The queen asked politely.

"Why of course ma'am" Jin said slightly shocked at her politeness and sincerity.

She then continued, “My husband and I, as well as Admiral Preston have been monitoring your progress for some time now, and we thought to ask of your help in a greater capacity. You’re of a brilliant tactical mind it seems and I wanted to ask if you would receive the bestowing of the Tactician’s rank for the Metargo Fleets." a look of surprise took over Jin's face.

while Jin was still in disbelief Karen continued "Admiral Preston said he could use the assistance form someone such as yourself and you were the perfect choice for recommendation. I agreed and so does Saul. Will you accept my offer Sir Jin?” she asked with her dainty voice.

"I'd be honored" he announced with the look of shock still labeled on his face. "So will I be staying onboard the Titan and operating out the command room here? Jin asked hopefully

"Indeed, you shall. You should be allowed to move about freely as you see fit. You will need to be present at board meetings and even some parliament discussion that involve Metargo military movements. I am most glad that you’ve accepted the offer. This is an official document of promotion. My husband and I drafted it up in advance in the event that you’d take the position.” Karen handed Jin the beautifully decorated envelope with the royal seal stamped on it. “I an official will help you get settled and briefed. Thank you once again Sir Jin! I must be off now. We shall see each other soon.” Karen said with a smiled and a gentle nod and gracefully proceeded down the hallway.

"Indeed, you shall. You should be allowed to move about freely as you see fit. This is an official document of promotion. Thank you once again Sir Jin! I must be off now. We shall see each other soon.” Karen said with a smiled and a gentle nod and gracefully proceeded down the hallway.

Jin now clutching to the royally stamped envelope, watched as the queen made her graceful exit and disappeared into the depths of the massive ship. He looked down and broke the seal with his finger making sure to not disfigure the envelope in any way and read its contents in a hushed tone:
This document here by certifies the position of one Jin-Giro to head tactician of the Metargo fleet. You are to be quartered on board the Titan vessel and operate out of its command center unless ordered into mech combat by a member of the royal family, Admiral Preston himself or if you feel it absolutely necessary. We hope with your skill and brilliant tactical mind we can bring this war to a close. Best wishes

At the bottom of the letter contained the signatures of the king and queen as if it wasn't authentic enough. After resealing the letter and placing it in his flight jacket Jin noticed a small card fall out and onto the ground. He picking it up noticing they were the directions to his new quarters and headed there eagerly awaiting to see his new home.

As the doors to his quarters slid open to the touch of his key card a sense of pride began to overcome Jin, not in his country, but in his life progress he had gone from being a homeless street urchin as some would put it, to living onboard the Metargo fleets finest ship and in quarters fit for a nobel man, well besides the maps mounted along the walls and the table sized battlefield projector which gave live feed of battles and even had a replay function. Jin's life had hit the jackpot so to speak, but of course this upgrade to his lifestyle came with the price of tactically leading hundreds of troops to fight to the death... it sure beat sleeping in Champ as the alternative.

Jin explored the contents of the room finding a full stocked supplement fridge and a closet with two freshly pressed uniforms that communicated his new ranking. After drinking one of the supplements to replenish himself from the battle, and changing into his new uniform he walked out with the intentions to head to the command room to gain familiarity with the crew and equipment but encountered a young woman official who simply introduced herself as his tactical assistant. "Good evening sir the command center is this way if you would follow me" the woman's formal speech was that of a maid but her military demeanor insisted she could handle her own in a fight. "lead the way please" he insisted and as she did Jin carefully studied her body and gait for any physical evidence as to why she wouldn't be a fighting soldier and was instead his personal assistant.

Upon reaching the command center everyone gaze was immediately shifted to Jin, all but his assistant who gave the announcement of his presence... something he was neither expecting nor happy about. Jin wanted the chance to study the individuals in the room without much attention being on him but since that was out the window he decided to make a public address. "I am Tactical Commander Jin-Giro and I will be in charge from here onward." With his short speech over and the attention dissipating off of him Jin assumed his position over the command center battlefield projector and started reviewing all the combat that took place over the course of the day leading up to the captains death and the eventual retreat.

Axl stared grumpily outside the window of his quarters, moaning with anxiety as he thought about his brother. "Honestly. It would be easier if he joined me. No. That would be selfish of me. He deserves to die how he wants and if that's as a Metargo scumbag, then so shall it be." Along with that thought came the thought of distrust he was shown. It seemed everyone didn't trust him. Everyone besides Vika of course.
''Killing is easier than just being patient I see... I prefer to strike when least expected. But If I must run in then so be it. I am made to take more damage than others... Painful... But necessary.'' Vika said to him.
In response he let out a small grunt and blew his hanging bangs from his face. He flinched a bit as she touched him. "Hey. Watch where you're putting your...."
Realizing she was close past his comfort zone, his eyes started to form a glare before she said, ''Are you sick? You're core temperature is higher than usual..''

Axl blinked at her and felt his face. It did seem a little warmer than usual. "I see. Maybe I have a cold. I can't really tell. The genetic enhance I have prevents me from picking up traces for things like the common cold. It's a mechanism that stops my body from moving sluggishly if I'm sick or hurt. I guess I should thank you for telling me. Now I can take some medicine." He said while getting up. "Anyway. Put some clothes on. Women should be more conscious of their bodies."
................................................................................................................................................
Cain waved to Scoar as he proceeded to leave the room. It seemed he was really swamped when it came to the girl he decided to bring along with him. Thinking about it, he kind of felt bad for bringing her along. She would no doubt be experimented on like a lab rat if she did happened to be like him. Standing up he walked to the sink and got himself a cup of water.

“I wonder who she is? If she does have a twin, I’m sure she’s really worried about her. I heard that twins can often be even closer than usual siblings.” Barnett said.

Cain smiled while sipping on his glass. "Yeah. I suppose you're right. Twins do have a sort of way of feeling what the others going through. Almost like mind reading." He felt that at this moment, if he knew Axl, he was angry at the lack of confrontation. He sighed as he poured Barnett a glass too and went back to his seat, setting her glass on the stand beside her.

“So Cain, I’ve received these flowers earlier and I think they’re quite lovely. I mean gosh a girl has to literally be in a hospital bed to get a bouquet of flowers these days!” Barnett joked with a giggle.

Cain spit out the water that he had in his mouth choking a little bit on the remains inside his throat. "Hehe. Really. I'm sure you'd get flowers even if you weren't in the hospital." He said with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
Someone nice in the middle of so much trouble.”

Cain didn't seem to notice, but it did seem her chest was a little smaller than before. However, he couldn't really tell why that would stop someone from giving her flowers. He remembered what Scoar said before about the situation but couldn't bring himself to confess that they were from him.

Wow. If Axl could see me like this he'd probably think I've grown weak.

He gave the girl a gentle smile and said, "Well I'm sure if someone really liked you then appearances wouldn't matter to them. Whoever sent you those flowers probably likes you for who you are, not what you look like."

Just then Scoar entered the room with the nurse and watched as she took a blood sample from the unconscious girl.
"Alright. Now let's go see what the results say." He eagerly suggested.
"You know this could take about an hour." The nurse said to him.
"No worries. Cain's here just so that if something goes wrong a ruckus wont be heard."

Scoar followed the lady out of the room before looking at the desk holding the flower set. "So how do you like the flowers Cain got for you. He actually left the Mech in order to pick them out."
Immediately, Cain's face heated up. "H-hey. You weren't suppose to tell her that."
"Oh. Sorry. I'll make it up to you later." Scoar said while giving a smooth smile. "Good luck. Hehehe."

Cain looked down, counting the fast beats of his heart.
Wow. Is this how friends treat each other?
He hoped that he wouldn't be shot down before he even made a move. Not that he knew how to make a move anyway. Sure it was true he was taught to talk to people in order to get them to trust him, but he didn't want to use any of those techniques on Barnett. In truth he wanted to be genuine and himself, but at the same time, he didn't even know how he should act. He really wanted to know what a genuine person would do in this situation.

Vika tilted her head, looking confused and with light as she walked squares spun around her as she changed... on Axl's command and she looked at Axl. ''Better? Viki Lunaria Metargo

Viki had received the letter from her father and read it in anticipation. She was glad to hear that her Father, Mother, and Brother were alright. However it would be difficult to deliver such bad news regarding the results of the war. She let out a deep sigh and approached the royal councilors. “This is the letter from my father regarding the outcome of the battle. I shall give my address to the people in 15 minutes. I must prepare my speech so would you kindly allow me a moment please?” She said calmly.

“Yes Your highness!” the councilors said in unison.

After they left the room Viki gasped. “What am I going to say?! This is not good at all… I suppose I shall simply read the letter my father wrote. That should do. Yes, that’s what I shall do.” Viki said to herself.

Image

Viki’s personal attendant, Sir Hansel entered the room. “Are you ready Princess? The people are waiting.” He said in a gentle and patient voice. Sir Hansel was Viki’s favorite person and best friend. He was always there to look after her and would give her the most sound of advice when she needed it. Although he was older than her father she had quite the crush on the gentleman. He knew her very well and developed a method of locating her when she happened to teleport somewhere by mistake. Viki’s family was often away on business trips or military business so Sir. Hansel was always there to keep her company and to protect her from harm.

“Yes, I suppose I’m as ready as I’m going to get.” Viki replied with a nervous smile.

Hansel simply smiled and reassured her. “No worries Princess. Just being your usual chipper and radiant self and that will put the people at ease. You have an ability to make others comfortable with ease, so just be natural. The kingdom needs their sweet princess’ joy more than ever.”

Viki hugged Sir Hansel and smiled warmly, “Thanks Hansel! I’d be lost without you.”

“No need for thanks dear princess. I’m simply glad to be of help.” Hansel replied with a warm smile as he returned Viki’s embrace.

Minutes later Viki gave her address to the people and what was initially a frightened and worried crowd was put at ease, just as Sir. Hansel said they would. Even with the bad news the Metargo people still had hope that they would be alright in the end. After the address many elites congratulated the princess in her up in coming career in the political arena and as a ruler. Viki was humble and Hansel kept those that got too close at bay.

A Metargo Official approached Viki with news. “Princess I heard that the daughter of the Metargo official Garrett Cross is stranded on a military medic unit near the battlefield. She was volunteering her services to help the wounded and the unit suffered engine trouble not far from the Titan’s retreat site. I don’t have the clearance to authorize a rescue unit to be sent. Could you please send a rescue unit for them? Lady Amelia must be saved, along with the wounded on the medic unit…” The man was sincere and they needed help.

“Indeed I shall send for help right away!” Viki said enthusiastically.

“Oh bless you Princess!! Bless you!” the man said gratefully

Viki rushed off to the terminal to have her ship prepped. Hansel followed and was already prepared for what Viki was planning to do. “Princess you shouldn’t be doing this yourself. This is the job of a rescue unit not a princess. It would cause trouble with the gossipy nobility. Hansel if my mother, a queen, can be allowed to pilot a battle mech I should be okay to rescue the stranded. You agree right Hansel?” Viki asked innocently.

“Indeed I agree princess but I couldn’t let you continue without wise council. I shall prepare our shuttle. One moment please princess.” Hansel said with a proud smile.

The two took a shuttle that was the size of the stranded medic unit and flew off to rescue the stranded Lady Amelia, medic team, and wounded soldiers. They reached the stranded shuttle and their com devices were offline. “No wonder they hadn’t contacted anyone…” Viki said. “Alright, I’ll teleport onto the ship and come back with others. Hansel please man the controls. I won’t be long.” Viki poke in an upbeat manner. She was excited about being able to help.

Image

Viki waved her staff and a yellow light flashed as she teleported into the medic shuttle. Once on the shuttle, the princess was greeted by Lady Amelia Cross. “Thank the heavens! An angel has been sent to us in the form of Princess Viki! Why hello Princess!! You’ve come to rescue us!!” Amelia said as she gave Viki a big hug!

“Indeed I have! I am so sorry I took so long Lady Amelia.” Viki replied.

“No need for apologies princess! You’re in perfect timing.” Amelia replied joyfully. She turned to the others, “We will be home soon everyone!”

Viki began Teleporting the others from the stranded ship to her shuttle. After several trips everyone was transported. “I’ll go do one more check and then we can go back to Metargo. Be back in a flash!” Viki said and teleported. She checked around the ship and no one was left behind. “I’m becoming mighty tired… All of this teleporting will sure wear a girl out!” She said aloud to herself. Viki teleported back to the rescue shuttle and they began to head back for Metargo.

Viki smelled the strong ointments being used to cleanse the wounds of the injured and she began to sneeze. “Ah….” She held her nose with her hands.

“Uh oh, not now princess!!” Sir Hansel said in a frightened manner. He knew what was about to happen.

“AAHHH…!!” Viki heaved once more.

“Lady Amelia PLEASE MOVE THE PRINCESS AWAY FROM THE STRONG OINTMENT OR ELSE SHE’LL SNEEZE!!” Hansel called out.

But it was too late. “AAAACHOOO!!!” Viki had sneezed and vanished in a flash.

Hansel stared at the empty space viki just occupied a moment ago. “Oh dear… I had better use the wow wand tracker.” Hansel said with a frustrated look.

Zechariah

Zech and Ben decided to go look for the Shapiro Twins, as they went back to their Eagles after telling Rear Admiral Lionel about it. First, they checked the beach, yet the downed nuclear mech was gone. Zechariah went further up in the air before a flash of light temporarily blinded him. "Gack!" The flinching resulting in his Eagle jerking upwards.

Benjamin shouted via comm link, "What happened, Zechariah!?"

"I don't know! A flash of light just came all of a sudden!" Zechariah was still recovering his eyesight from the sudden flash.

Benjamin sighed and said, "Little brother, I think you lost it."

Zech twitched his eye in frustration. "Oh, really!?" Benjamin, I know what I saw, and..." His face turned all confused once he felt something on his lap. "Uh... What is on my lap and against my chest and shoulder? There should only be me in here. Did someone teleport?"

Benjamin was now concerned, and gave an embarrassed, "Uh... I personally don't know anyone who can do that sort of thing."

Zechariah was now filled with anxiety, and once he fully regained eyesight, he noticed a woman with a staff sitting in his lap. He freaked out and shouted in fright, jerking his Eagle every which way but loose while shouting, "W-what are you doing here!? How did.. what... Wh-who are you!?"

Viki Lunaria Metargo

Viki reappeared seated on what felt like a lap. She looked around and she realized she was in someone’s cockpit. She could hear a foreign language being spoken rapidly behind her. Actually in her ear. “Wait that’s the Benjlakki language… right? Wh-where am I this time?” She said as she looked behind her. Viki had studied a bit of the language while studying at the academy. Political figure heads were mandated to learn the basics of each politically prominent nation’s language. Viki was a bit ditzy but she wasn’t a bad student at all, ironically.

The young man suddenly began to freak out and the ship jerked about thus thrashing Viki about into the walls of the cockpit. “EEEK!! Hey stop jerking this ship around will you!?! Owwie Oww!! CONTROL YOURSELF PLEASE!!” Viki shouted.

When the ship finally steadied Viki explained what she could. “I guess I had another one of my episodes.” She said. “I suppose I’d better explain… My name is Viki Lunaria. I’m what they call a blinking mage, who specializes in teleportation magic. I was helping a medic shuttle when I accidentally teleported away. I tend to do that when I sneeze sometimes. Sorry to have inconvenienced you. I’ll be out of here in a sec.” She said and raised her wand. However she didn’t teleport away, only her stomach grumbled. “Ooops… I guess I’m too hungry and tired to teleport right now. Would you mind directing me to a food establishment? I have money.” Viki said sheepishly.

Sandra nodded to Captain Leopold after she was approached by Zech and Ben. "Captain Permission Granted, please keep an eye on things fleet wise for me until I finish up down here." She said before nodding and as she looked around she noticed Lawrence Vance. Walking across the deck she approached the man.

"Private First Class Vance, Welcome to the Sehpirim, I'm Admiral Lionel. Once Zecahriah calmed down and his mech steadied, he was able to register the poor girl's words. Her accent told him she was from Metargo, which put him on alert, somewhat. What if it was a trap? Then again, she seemed a bit ditzy. Plus, he had to admit, the girl was beautiful and adorable. She introduced herself as Viki Lunaria and mentioned she was a teleporter that was helping a medical shuttle. Could it have been one of the retreating Metargo vehicles, or possibly a transport from the Peninsula's own garrison on the Benjlakki side? He was utterly confused, at this point. If she accidentally teleported into the cockpit of his mech, it could mean anything.

During the whole conversation, Zechariah could feel Viki's chest against his, making it all the more awkward (there was not that much room in the cockpit, to begin with). He laughed a little nervously at the query of a food establishment. "Uh... ehehe... Not to be mean or anything, but the coastal towns in this part of the Gatwashiim Peninsula have kind of been evacuated before the battle, this morning."

Benjamin contacted Zechariah via comm link in a frustrated tone with, "Don't you realize who that is, little brother!? You're talking to Viki Lunaria Metargo, the very Princess of our enemies!"

Zechariah's eyes widened in shock. "Princess?" Taking off his pilot's helmet to reveal his dirty blonde hair and tanned faced with blue eyes, he turned his attention to Viki, "Y-your the Princess of Metargo?"

Benjamin then shouted, "Oh, come on! Do you ever keep up with the news!?

Zechariah faced the radio and answered plainly, "Nope. The news media is too depressing. It's hardly news, anyway; just a bunch of one-sided talk with little room for letting others think for themselves." Turning his attention back to Viki, he fell silent for a brief moment. Part of him wanted to question her, the other part flushed by her beauty and apparent innocence. He swiftly snapped out of it and told her, "To be brutally honest, my brother and I were searching for members of our squadron that went missing during the battle. But, seeing as there is no trace of them, we will have to list them as MIA. As for you, I hate to do this, but I am bringing you on board the Seraphim. A gentle smile entering his features, he added, "Don't worry, I promise I'll make sure they don't hurt you."

Benjamin, from within his own cockpit of his Eagle, faceplamed himself. I hope Zechariah knows what he is getting into. Word of this gets out, Congress will be in a hissy fit over the controversy of the whole thing.

Zechariah immediately contacted Rear Admiral Lionel via radio with, "Rear Admiral Lionel, this is Zechariah Malachi. A teleporter accidentally warped into the cockpit of this mech I am piloting, and I am bringing her aboard for humanitarian purposes. Her name is Viki Lunaria Metargo. I shall take full responsibility for her well-being while on board."

On board the Seraphim, Zechariah stood by Viki's side while heading towards the briefing room where he and the rest of Brown Wing Team were expected by the Rear Admiral. His gentle grin in the room was to reassure Viki everything would be all right. Turning his attention up front, he stood at attention with Benjamin and the others.

Back on the Titan, Chemda barely felt the needle. She did not know what was going on, exactly, but from what she gathered, some of it was romance while some had to do with someone. Some more listening, and she guessed they were referring to her. She woke up moments after a sample of her blood was taken and noticed a man and woman nearby. The man was the same one that ambushed Chemda and her sister! She immediately jolted from bed in fright and reached for her pistols, only to realize they were not on her person. This caused her to reacted even more frantically as she grabbed a scalpel and got into a combat knife stance she knew from military training.

All manner of fear could be traced from her movements and expressions as she demanded in Metargo, "Where's Adira!?" Glancing back and forth between the man and woman, she added with heavy breaths from all the shock, "My Metargo... is mediocre... but please... tell me where... my twin sister is..."

The moment after she said that, she felt a pain in her head, to which she winced, causing her to drop the scalpel. Oh, no.... please, no... Her eyes turned from brown to silver slowly while she struggled with her impulses painfully, gagging here and there. In a frenzied panic, holding her head, she shouted, "Run! Impulses coming! I can't hold them! Save yourselves!" She fell to her knees in agony before letting out a few shouts as the pain from resisting became worse.

Aaron was just walking past Scoar and the medical bay door, when he heard those screams and rushed in the room with his swords unsheathed. Once he caught sight of Chemda, he kicked her hard in the head and knocked her out. Once he was sure the girl was out cold, he turned his attention to Cain with an angry, "What happened over here, Specialist Numi, and where were you during the battle!? You were supposed to be in formation with the rest of Lion Team!"

Vika looked at the princess then to Zecharich and she folded her arms, her silver cat suit was skin tight and leather. Her silver short hair swayed to the side slightly before she put her hand out and started to scan the princess. Vika was noticeably taller most, even some males and if her silver skin and lime green eyes didn't set her apart from the others her scanner did and her calming and sensual artificial voice did.

She was scanning Viki Lunaria Metargo's vital signs and once she was done and walked forth before others and stood in front of the princess, she stood tall at 6'2 foot, having to look down on the princess. ''Your vitals are nominal. Welcome to the Seraphim.'' She looked to Zecharich for a moment with a glare before looking back to the princess. ''Stay away from Zecharich. He is showing signs of wishing to mate with you.'' She next put her hand out. ''Greetings, I am Viola Jenova. I am the first bio mechanical android of Bennjakk. I specialize in computer interfaces, hacking, locating and hand to hand combat.'' She then actually smiled with warmth that didn't belong to a mere machine. ''But that is only the basics. I do not wish to bore you.''

Zechariah heard Viola make that assumption about wanting to 'mate' with Viki and could not help but be infuriated by such an implied accusation. He wanted to punch the android hard, but he refrained from doing so. He shouted to Viola, "Idiot! I'm not interested in sex! Don't go making such assumptions without getting to know me, first! On top of that, she's got to be stressed out, as it is, without fretting over something like that!"

Benjamin joined in with, "That's right! My brother never was the kind of guy that was lustful! What kind of scanner are you using, anyway!?"

----

Kyle's grip on the glass of whisky tightened at the query of what he had to lose. "Just my life. All else was taken from me, a couple or so years ago, by a meltdown." Pulling out a photo of him and his family, he showed it to Minmei. "Yep. That's me when I had brown hair. I didn't choose to have it colored light gray, it happened after the explosion. My parents died instantly, and my little sister received a fatal illness from that same meltdown, an illness I could not pay the treatment for in time." A tear came down as he spoke. "So, you see, I have no family or anything. All I have, aside from this photo, are my life, my knife, and a deck of playing cards. No nice home to go to, no major possessions, nothing to really look forward to. The only reason I am in the military is to live away from street life. Were my sister alive, today, she'd be in her second year of high school. She was extremely compassionate. You'd be surprised how far she would have gone for a stranger, no matter where they came from. And, she had a way of getting people to smile during hardships."

Vika backed away looking actually frightened despite being quite the tower of a woman and she pressed her index fingers together, looking confused for a moment before going into indifference as Benjamin came into it and she put her hands back to her sides, her fingers twitched as she struggled to contain something... she didn't know what it was just yet but refrained to show it, closing over her eyelids and calming herself before calmly explaining herself. ''I was only stating Mr. Malachi's condition. It is not my fault the human body releases hormones by nature...'' She opened her eyes and looked at Zechariah with a uneasy glare to it. ''Is it?'' Her hands started to twitch at this time again.

She turned to Benjamin, the glare softening. ''As for the scanner I am equipped with a multi dimensional scanner that allows me to assess a individual's body like a portable X-ray machine with much less radiation. I can take note of minor vital signs lie pulse, temperature, lung capacity and so on. I am not just made for accessing computers or combat Sir.'' She turned to Benjamin. ''Surely you and your bother should know this? I am not human after all.'' She then walked up to Benjamin, her hands shaking and she was... gritting her teeth... Suddenly she grabbed him from his top and lifted him up with alarming ease. ''Why are you all so close minded? I do not understand... Why don't you treat me... like I am someone?'' She then growled and threw Benjamin away and spreads her and from her arms slide out a set of small thin daggers made of the same alloy she was made off. ''I am... I am.... angry at you!! At all of you!!'' She started to walk to Benjamin, fingers twitching with this new found... anger.

Axl stared at Vika with a sly grin on her face as she bloodied the soldiers nose. He might not have been able to attack Benjlakk personel, but it was good to see that his partner could. "That's how you should act all the time." he commented.
Walking with Vika the two passed by where Zechariah was and he immediately back stepped to see if he was hallucinating or not. Sadly he wasn't. He gave a glare toward the man and the princess whom he didn't believe was on the ship. Looking in Vika's direction it seemed she had already picked up on their conversation and decided to give her two cents about the matter. He chuckled as he mentioned Zech's hormones heightening. He did so once more when the man responded by not being interested in sexual activities. That was either a lie, or he was homosexual. He could also be one of those celibate people. Axl shook away the thought and focused once again on the princess.

"Calm down Vika. You're contradicting yourself. He asked you what kind of scanner you were using. If you think about it, that's what a person would say to another person. Also, you just told them you weren't human, but your displaying mood swings and irational behavior like one. To sum it up, you're contradicting yourself when you tell someone you're not a person, but asked to be noticed like one. If I can come up with that conclusion, I'm sure you can too. Let's go. You need a time out." He said with a bored expression. It was violent and beautiful, but it stunk of emotion. Something he didn't like being around. Before leaving he turned to the princess and smile. It was an evil smile a predator gives to their prey before hunting them down. "Princess. I advise you go home. I don't know how long I can control myself. Since your family was good to us as children, I'll let it slide this time, but don't forget. Even if these people here treat you nicely, or even like a livable prisoner, as long as your near me your life is in danger. You are Metargo after all." He started to walk away and then stopped, chuckling to himself. "Oh and Zechariah. You might want to watch your hormones. Hahahaa." Giving his tease, he walked away from the seen, putting his hands in his pockets.

Maybe I'm weaker than I thought. I could've killed her easily and that would hurt Metargo's morale. Whatever. She's not what I'm after anyway.

Afraid of what Barnett would say about finding out that he was her secret admirer, Cain was relieved when the sleeping girl beside them woke up. Her words were scrambled and he was pretty sure she wasn't in fighting condition. Not only that but she wreaked of the smell of fear. He couldn't blame her though. "You should calm down. I'd hate to put you to sleep again." Cain said calmly, slowly standing up. "If you're smart, you'd get back in be...."

"What happened over here, Specialist Numi, and where were you during the battle!? You were supposed to be in formation with the rest of Lion Team!" Aaron stormed in.

Cain never really thought much of the guy. He was a person in Cains life who was shoved behind the people he actually cared about. To further explain, think of it like a game where you have your party and then the npc's. Although his timing couldn't be any better. Cain looked out him for a moment, waiting for the last piece in his plan.

Bingo

Scoar walked in looking tired and bored. "What the hell?" He said in surprise as the room seemed to be in chaos. "Wow. I miss something?"

"No. Me and the Sergeant were just about to talk about the Lion Teams next move. Can you take over this situation real quick. I should be back soon. Maybe not that soon. Maybe not at all." He said nudging Aaron, hoping he would get the hint. "You know how these planning things go."

Scoar noticed a rush in Cains normal slow mood, but ignored it and looked at what he would be left alone with. Knowing Cain, he avoided the topic after he left the room so Scoar might be asked about his feelings for Barnett. Not to mention he'd have to calm the Benjlakki woman down. He scratched his head and pouted. "You better be glad we're friends. I got this." He said realizing Cain had already started to drag the Sergeant away. With the two gone, he turned to the Benjlakki woman. "You seem a little woozy. It's probably from the effects of the drug Cain gave you. Do you want some water?"

Pulling on Aarons arm Cain finally let go when they were out of the room. "Damn. I'll never be able to win that type of battle." Recollecting his thoughts he adjusted his act to his usual cold one. "Sorry about that. As you can see, I was making sure that the titan wasn't attacked by enemy units while our forces were pushed out. I did show up though, in case you didn't see the explosion. I also kidnapped that woman in there that you saw. How's the rest of the members? Everyone alive?"

Watching the battle footage over and over revealed minor errors each time Jin hit replay. They began to stack up until finally he walked away from the battlefield projector in disgust, he couldn't believe how sloppy the attack on the peninsula was. Multiple Metargo units broke formation just moments into the battle and others left the battle field altogether. "We have some work to do. were his words as he shook his head in disappointment He knew that if he were going to make the necessary changes to win the next battle he have to start by reorganizing the best.

Jin looked his assistant in the eyes and gave her a simple order "Bring me Lion team to the conference room for a debriefing"

Once all of lion team was gathered in the conference room Jin ran the recording of the battle in the middle of the table for everyone to see, while sitting at the end of the table where he could monitoring everyones reactions or lack there of. The recording immediately stopped and paused at the moment of captain Ire's death and this is when Jin removed his hands from in front of his face and and extended one hand towards the image in front of them all "This is the result of arrogance and disorganization, what do you'll have to say for the disgraceful performance today?" His eyes scanned the room as he listened to what each of them had to say for themselves.

This was his first chance to really look at the soldiers he would be tactically in command of and for the most part he saw fire in their eyes, for some this was a burning hatred for the Benjlakki and others the burning desire for retribution, but he would allow their explanations to finalize his decision.

Aaron shook his head. "No. Some of us died." After a bit, he and Cain were summoned to the conference room.

--

Chemda seemed to not stay unconscious long from Aaron's kick, since she was able to hear Scoar ask if she wanted some water. It seemed the Prince understood her language. Slowly getting up off the floor, she nodded slowly, but then asked, "But, first, where's my sister? Is she okay? Her name is Adira." Turning her head, sideways, she told the Prince, "As for those... impulses... well, my twin and I kind of found out about those when some stalkers ambushed us after a high school gymnastics event we participated in. From the look those boys gave as they eyed us, well, you can guess what was coming up. We didn't let them, though, and that's where those impulses came in. Fighting skills we didn't think we had just suddenly came, and we nearly killed one of those guys because of those sudden impulses. I just can't explain it. We knew we were different in physical qualities from our peers, but to actually have a sort of killing instinct... it... it was a scary thing to think about after that incident. I don't know why it is there, but once it's triggered, usually when danger is near, it's hard to control it without major pain to the head... as this Cain guy witnessed. I'm just glad nobody was hurt by me, this time."

--

Zechariah now felt guilty for his outburst. That was the thing about Zech: he can be sweet and kind, but can also overreact. Still, Viola could have worded it differently. He made a mental note to apologize for his rude behavior, later. Benjamin, however, did not regret his choice of words. Both brothers glared at Axl as he spoke to both Viki and Zechariah. As Axl left with Viola, Zechariah continued to glare. "I swear, if Axl makes one move against Viki, I will personally shoot him to ashes!"

Ben whispered to Viki with, "This is the first time I've seen Zechariah express any form of malice. He must really be ticked by what Axl said to you."

Zechariah then realized they were still in Sandra's presence. "We better listen to what Rear Admiral Lionel has to say, so, we should stand at attention, again."

--

Kyle heard the call for all available Lion Team members to head tot he conference room. "We better continue this later. No point in bringing a whisky to that place." He quickly poured the contents of his glass into a nearby sink and sprinted to make it in time, the rest of Lion Team there to see the playback of the battle.

Sure, many of the remaining Lions were angry, but none showed it more than Aaron. After all, this was the first time he was ever bested in battle. He wanted to prove himself the best, he wanted to uphold his family legacy. To do that, he needed to get rid of the one obstacle in his way: Zechariah Malachi.

Once it was time for explanations, Aaron spoke up first, a deep fervor about him. "While it is true that arrogance and disorganization were part of the reason, one cannot deny Benjlakk planned in advance for repelling our attack! The King himself was not mistaken in telling us we'd be facing a foe unlike any other! As for Captain Ire's death, I know for a fact that in prime condition, she would never have fallen so easily! Have you all forgotten the Second Metargo-Mysticaran War!? Not even a Golem manned by an elf could defeat her so quickly! Could one, men?"

The members of Lion Team that were actually veterans of the Second Metargo-Mysticaran War shouted in unison, "No!"

From there, Aaron continued, his voice expressing more rage, "Damn right, 'No'!" Obviously, something happened which hindered her abilities while in her mech, and I guarantee it occurred during and after the confrontation between the Titan and the enemy flagship called the Seraphim! Furthermore, we have been plagued by inexperienced men in the Royal Navy, especially from among the so-called 'elite' that get it in their heads that because they are 'privileged', they can start out a couple ranks above the rest of us and not face the consequences! Had that not been the scenario, we would have had even more men of experience, thus Benjlakk would not have had it so easy! Bibi, our mechanic, is a shining example of someone from among the nobility who chose not to take such an erroneous route, but instead started from the bottom up in the ranks! And now, look at her: her skills and mechanical expertise have proven to be the lifeblood of our success in our war with Mysticara time and time again, which was before our conflict with Benjlakk we are facing!"

Lion Team gave the customary Metargo war chant of, "Struf ul Gluj! Struf ul Gluj!" ((It is an ancient Metargo phrase meaning, "Strength and Glory! Strength and Glory!"))

Aaron was now as fired up as he could be in his speech. "What's more, is that today, we, Lion Team, have faced rookies from Among Brown Wing Team, all of whom surpassed our expectations, especially one! When their sergeant died, as was shown to us, one[/I[ of the pilots within Brown Wing Team kept them together, resulting in the sonic missile barrage which forced us to confront them!" Playing back the face off Aaron had with the pilot he spoke of, he continued, "See for yourself, men, the maneuvers and technique of the man in question! There is only [I]one Benjlakki lineage's legacy that could ever hope to match that of Metargo's own Lextu lineage! Only a member of the legendary Malachi family could have pulled this off! Mech unit warfare may have only been around for seventy years out of the millennia-long history of the Malachis and Lextus, yet the reality stands! It has been confirmed when the man named Zechariah Malachi, whose emergence into the continuation of his family's legacy is shown here, in his first ever battle! Men! We are facing an enemy with the means to humiliate us, yet we must show them Metargo's resolve and prevent that from happening! To victory!"

Lion Team once again shouted in unison, "Struf ul gluj! Struf ul gluj!"

Vika understood that indeed she would constricting herself, the knives folding back into her and though her new found anger was still shown on her twitching hands she stopped storming at Benjamin and looked to Axl. ''You are right.'' She said in a normal artificial voice before walking after Axl to his side, she didn't look at him, her hands still twitched. ''I am... I apologize. I must have to do a upgrade on myself, perhaps a memory wipe... Maybe a small fragment of the virus is still in my system. Making me act so... incorrect against my owners.'' Vika finally looked at Axl and though her hands showed otherwise she was completely calm on her face. ''I must urge you not to make comments to the princess like that, at least not in front of everyone. As unlike me, they will not accept this behaviour. I wish you the best on our ship and unfortunately that means better behaviour around my owners. But feel free to vent your frustrations on me. I believe sparring is a good source of purging tension.''

Once it was time for explanations, a man with snowy blonde hair and brown eyes spoke up first with deep fervor about him. At the beginning of his explanation Jin motioned for his assistant who came to him holding a file on all of Lion team. Jin opened the file and began to read still listening but now putting a face to a name. The man who was currently speaking was Sergeant Aaron Lextu, he was from a very distinguished family and also an expert swordsmen but arrogance and pride seemed to radiated from him as he spoke. then suddenly the members of Lion Team that were veterans of the Second Metargo-Mysticaran War shouted in unison, "No!"

After the sudden outburst Aaron continued, his voice now expressing more rage. Jin sat quietly with his fingers laced right under his noes and continued to read the bio of the 23 year old Sergeant "He'll make one hell of a leader for the ground units if I can calm that temper of his...which won't be easy by the looks of it, With every word his emotions rise and while that maybe good for pre battle talk we are in the process of retreat and such arrogance I can not allow. He needs to be taught a lesson because it seems today's defeat wasn't enough." with the conclusion of that thought Jin began to craft a humility plan in his head one that would teach the whole crew the very lesson that could win this war.

Lion Team gave the customary Metargo war chant of, "Struf ul Gluj! Struf ul Gluj!" as Aaron was reaching what seemed to be the apex of his speech. Now as fired up as he could be in his speech the Sergeant continued. "...We are facing an enemy with the means to humiliate us, yet we must show them Metargo's resolve and prevent that from happening! To victory!" he concluded sparking a fire in the soldiers that filled the conference room. Lion Team once again shouted in unison, "Struf ul gluj! Struf ul glum!"

The time had come to put out the fire and Jin knew exactly how to do it. "Oh yes to victory" Jin said mockingly "To victory he says, but today we stand running in retreat with our tails between our legs, carrying the bodies of our wounded and dead with nothing to show for their sacrifice!!" Jin's voice was raised but not angry his purpose was to silence and crush their pride. He knew it sounded harsh but they had nothing to be proud about today, their enemy had held their own against them, killed their captain, and nearly overrun their main ship. He had to set things in prospective for the soldiers if he was ever going to have them ready for their next offensive.

Now speaking back in his calm voice he continued "Sergeant Aaron Lextu is it? while that was a great eulogy for our deceased captain, it doesn't matter if she had single handedly wiped out the whole Golem population today she's dead and none of you were there to help her, not even myself and I share that burden with you. Secondly you, the soldiers in this room are supposed to be the best of the best at what you do but you didn't deliver on that today. But get ready because Brown wing team regardless of this Zechariah Malachi he speaks of wont stand a chance against you all when I get through with you, I will break you and then I will mold you into the force that will lead the charge for the soldiers of Metargo.... Starting with you. Jin finished speaking while looking Aaron dead in his eyes "After this meeting concludes meet me in the hanger, that is if you're not scared of a duel."

"The rest of you I believe its your turns to explain yourselves."

As Vance walked upon the deck he was approached by someone he never thought he would meet, Rear Admiral Sandra Lionel. Vance stumbling over himself, quickly stood at attention. As she addressed him, she gave were the reasons for his sudden reassignment. Vance was assigned to Brown Wing? They had some rather talented pilots in that group wasn't there? Whatever that case it was quite an honor to be called by name and assigned to them. Not to mention the next bit of news. "Corporal!?" He blurted out by accident. Nervously chuckling Vance regained his composure. "Y-yes, thank you sir!" "Or- er-Ma'am?!" Vance stuttered. He was rather flustered by the whole ordeal. He then nervously chuckled again as he saluted her.

Then she held out her hand. Vance made a huge gulp as he was somewhat flabbergasted. He then made another chuckle as he shook her hand. Though slightly hesitant at first he gave a fine shake. "Y-yes, thank you for the honor again." He said with an awkward smile. Even the way he stood at attention was awkward. A bit slumped as his knees shook with anticipation. Yet most of all was that silly sideways smile. What a buffoon she must think I am! Vance thought. Hardly the stuff of a legends...she must think there was some mistake. Vance thought. Without knowing it he was still nervously chuckling. What!? I'm still yucking it up like some hyena!! Come on Vance get a hold of yourself, it's not that bad...is it? Erm...well...whatever! Vance thought to himself as he managed to silence himself. I hope that wasn't too awkward to the point I blew it...oh well...I guess I could say I was apart of Brown Wing team for a few seconds. Vance thought already fearing the worse. Those in higher command never seem to have senses of humor. He then thought it best to wait for further orders.

Azaka Oikawa and Zane Preston

As the two sat at the restaurant located in the Titan Ship, they conversed in a slightly flirty manner. They were enjoying spending time together without talks of war. Azaka always gained attention wherever he went, due to his celebrity status. People stared and tried not to get caught taking photographs of the two. Out of nowhere appeared a few of the Metargo operators who stood gossipy and starry eyed at Zane and Azaka. “It’s the Zanaka couple!!!” The three girls shouted as they ran over.

Before the group could reach the couple, Zane smirked at Azaka, “Well there goes our peaceful moment. Thanks superstar Azaka.” Zane said sarcastically.

“Oh hush. You’re just as popular with giggling girls and boys as I am. They probably want your autograph just as badly as they’d want mine.” Azaka said after rolling his eyes.

The three young ladies had reached the couple and began to talk a mile a minute. “Hi there Adimral Zane! OOPs! I meant Admiral Preston!! Oh…I’m such a ditz!! Sorry…” One of the girls said apologetically.

“It’s alright, you can call me Zane. But just this once okay. I wouldn’t want everyone around base forgetting that I’m their superior officer.” Zane replied with a flirty wink. Azaka simply snickered to himself. He knew Zane couldn’t help himself but to flirt with anyone.

The girls grew even more excited by Zane’s reply. The other people in the restaurant were becoming annoyed. “And Azaka your songs were awesome!! As usual! We almost forgot to work when Operation Azaka started! I felt like I was at your Banana Moon of Love holoconcert all over again!!” The Green haired squealed.

“BUT of Course we did our JOBS!! Right Popako??!!!” The red headed girl said forcefully as she hit the Green Haired girl in the arm for almost getting them in trouble.

Azaka smiled nervously. “Thanks a million girls. I’m glad you enjoyed the Sonic Cannon concert but It’s really supposed to Distract the enemy units not our own operators and pilots…” Azaka replied as he rubbed the back of his neck shyly.

Zane stared at Azaka rather plainly, “Perhaps we should discontinue Operation Azaka, seeing as that it could very well be more of a hindrance than a help.” Zane said joking in a serious tone. Azaka knew Zane very well and could tell when Zane was trying to get under someone’s skin.

“That’s not funny Zane…” Azaka said as he turned as way in a huff. Clearly he was upset.

“Lighten up songbird… I was only kidding with you.” Zane said in a smooth yet sincere tone.

The girls looked on and their faces blushed excitedly. “OOOHHH…. GIRLS I THINKE WE’RE WITNESSING A ZANAKA LOVE QUARRELL!! AHHH…” They bounced around. “You two make the cutest couple ya know!”

Both Zane and Azaka looked at them surprised. “Um, we do?” they both said innocently.

“Of course!! I’ve even seen guys that are jealous.” The green haired girl said.

“C-can we have your autographs? Pretty please Admiral Preston, Mr. Oikawa?” The more quiet blue haired girl asked shyly.

“Sure, what’re your names?” Azaka replied with a soft smile. He took the photo’s they had and signed them as they told the couple their names.

“I’m Popako.” The green haired girl spoke.

“I’m Matsuko.” The red haired girl said in a charged manner.

“And I’m Aiko. Thanks so much for your time. Sorry to have disturbed you two.” The polite blue haired girl said as she blushed.

After Zane signed the photos he replied, “It was our pleasure to spend these moments with you lovely ladies. Be sure to catch Azaka’s mini performance tonight at 7:00. You know to boost troop morale. He says he’s planned a lament for Captain Ire as well.”

“Yes please come.” Azaka added.

“OF COURSE WE’LL BE THERE!!” The three girls said in unison. Shortly afterwards the three girls scurried off.

Zane took another sip of wine and said casually, “If only more people learned to appreciate and get excited about the little things. They wouldn’t feel the need to subjugate other countries when there is plenty at their own fingertips.”

“The little but precious things, like love.” Azaka added. The two leaned in closely for a kiss however right before they could the blue haired operator returned.

“Umm… excuse me Admiral sir. I’m so sorry to have interrupted you two again. But I forgot to give you a message. The new tactician has ordered a meeting with the lion team to discuss today’s battle. Well then, I shall be going now sir.” With that the young lady tipped away.

“Well I guess love will have to wait no, won’t it. I guess I gotta go songbird.” Zane said as he stood from his seat. “Check please.” He called to the waiter.

“I may not be a soldier or a member of the Lion Team but I want to sit in on the meeting. I am a consultant to the military and I participated in the battles as the operator of the Sonic Cannon. Strategy is as important for me as it is for you all. Please Zane, let me come.” Azaka said as he stood to his feet as well.

“Alright Songbird, no need to present a court case to me. I’m always on your side. However I’m not so sure what the other guys will say. Their pride has already taken a beating today so they’re quite a touchy lot. Come on let’s go.” Zane replied with a reassuring smile.

As the meeting started and Aaron gave his remarks some of the Lion Team members momentarily shot glances at Azaka for being present in the meeting though he was not a member of the Lion Team nor the military. However he was a big participant in the recent battles thus it was grounds for him to sit in on them, though the pride of the soldiers ran thick and Azaka was sometimes unwelcomed by the prideful soldiers.

Zane stepped forward, “I take full responsibility for what happened today. I also take responsibility for Captain Irie’s death. That is on my head and the blood is on my hands. I was too comfortable in thinking that I could be more hands off in this battle. In my experience even a lackluster soldier can shine brightly under the proper guidance and leadership. I failed to step up to the plate and for that I am terribly sorry. I promise you all that THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.” Zane said in a serious tone.

Azaka grabbed Zane’s hand, “Zane you can’t take such blame upon yourself. It’s not fair.” Azaka said withconcern.

“Azaka, the day I start blaming my soldiers for my mistakes is the day I should quit lest I never look myself in the eyes again.” Zane replied in a deathly serious tone. He was bitterly upset by today’s events.

Viki Lunaria Metargo

Zechariah's eyes widened in shock. "Princess?" Taking off his pilot's helmet to reveal his dirty blonde hair and tanned faced with blue eyes, he turned his attention to Viki, "Y-your the Princess of Metargo?"

“Why yes I am. I guess I didn’t mention my last name. Oh right! Sir Hansel always tells me in case I teleport away in a situation like this that I should refrain from telling my last name. That way people who don’t recognize me will not hold me for ransom or something.” Viki replied in a chipper tone. She found his fussiness to be quite amusing.

Viki wasn’t too thrilled when Zechariah said he’d be taking her to his base. She was technically a prisoner to the enemy. However she wasn’t very worried. Viki knew that as soon as she ate enough food and gained enough strength, she could simply teleport home with ease. There was very little anyone could do to contain her. She quite surprise however to find that everyone was treating very nicely.

An android walked forth before others and stood in front of the princess, she stood tall at 6'2 foot, having to look down on the princess. ''Your vitals are nominal. Welcome to the Seraphim.'' She looked to Zecharich for a moment with a glare before looking back to the princess. ''Stay away from Zechariah.

Viki shook the android’s hand with a warm smile. “Why hello there! It’s a pleasure to meet such an interesting android.” Viki then glanced back at Zechariah. “He wants to mate with me??? Oh dear I’m not ready for such activities… We’ve only just met after all and I am not a woman of those morals.” Viki said as she placed her hand over her heart.

Zechariah heard Viola make that assumption about wanting to 'mate' with Viki and he shouted to Viola, "Idiot!

Viki said quietly, “Oh well that’s good to know. For a second there I almost thought I teleported into the craft of a predator… Glad to know you’re a good boy.” Viki said with an innocent smile.

Another young man entered the room and did a lot of glaring at Viki. He calmed Vika down.

Viki followed him out with her eyes. She stood pondering on his words. “Golly is he dark or what. However he does have a point there. I should be getting home. Sir Hansel must be really worried. I’d hate to cause trouble for everyone.”

Zechariah continued to glare. "I swear, if Axl makes one move against Viki, I will personally shoot him to ashes!"

Ben whispered to Viki with, "This is the first time I've seen Zechariah express any form of malice. He must really be ticked by what Axl said to you."

Viki looked puzzled, “Oh? Mr. Zechariah is so concerned about me? I barely met him. Wow he’s a sweet heart! Is he this caring about all girls?” Viki replied innocently. “Oh also I am still REALLY hungry… I’ve had an extremely long day. I had to address the Kingdom today… you don’t know how hard that is. Then I rescued a stranded medical shuttle and a very pretty noble woman named Amelia. She was very sweet. Then I got abducted… wow today was quite eventful indeed!” Viki gave an astonished smile.

Barnett Belvedere

Barnett was shocked that Cain was the sender of the flowers. She couldn’t help but smile very brightly. Cain’s shyness only made him further attractive to her. She had never seen him act in such a way. She wanted to tell him that it was alright but she couldn’t stop giggling to speak. She was most relieved that her mystery man was one that she very much liked.

Soon afterward the young woman awoke and she explained who she was. She was simply a teenager really. A girl that was a mystery to herself in a dangerous situation. Barnett began to feel sorry for the Benjlakki girl. “Poor dear. I hope they don’t treat her ruff. I don’t even care that she’s an enemy. I just want her to get home safe and sound.” She said softly.

Minmei Midori

Minmei listened to Kyle’s story. She realized that he was very different from some of the other soldiers she met. He had been through a lot in his life. He had to leave to attend the Lion Team conference. Minmei replied to Kyle, “I see you’ve gotta go. I’m not a member of the Lion Team so I guess I’m sparred the lashing you guys are probably gonna get. But I’m sure my superior will fuss at us operators as well. Good luck.” she took another sip from her Cosmo as Kyle left.

Sandra stood before Brownwing Team, Vance and Viki and was about to introduce the newest member when the admiral noticed Viki and her face went from completely serious to baffled. All the while she could hear the troops that seemed distracted and unaware of their presence jabbering when they realized they snapped to attention. The woman who was normally quick with her orders paused for at least over thirty seconds. She knew she had to handle this situation carefully as there was a great deal of politics involved.

"Princess Viki Metargo Welcome aboard the Siphirum, I am Admiral Lionel of the 101st Benjlakki Fleet." Sandra said. "I was not expecting you to be present, which of my soldiers took you prisoner?" She asked as she shot a cold glare to all of brown wing team normally the admiral was not one to be upset but under the circumstances she was in the belief that Viki had been taken as a prisoner. "It seems that they were not overly forceful and I apologize for their actions."

Catrina sighed softly, quietly entering after arriving only a while ago. She slipped into her spot, standing at attention her eyes staying warily on Sandra and Zechariah. Her eyes closed slowly for a moment, part of her just wanting to take a nap while the other part of her just wanted to stalk off and hide away. Her hands balled up into tight fists behind her back and her eyes closed tightly for a moment. It took a little while for her to finally open them back up. She could mock them right now, but decided not to. She had to be respectful, especially if she wanted to be respected as well. Her mind drifted off quickly, her eyes lingering away from everyone and up at the ceiling. While her expression never really showed that she was just looking at the ceiling. It seemed as though she was staring straight through the ceiling, into nothingness. It was bizarre to most, but to her it was a normal thing. Ever since they announced her brother's death she has always done that. She could have sworn she had seen him earlier, but those thoughts quickly disappeared into nothing as she just stared at the ceiling, blocking everything else out.

The Lion Team, or at least those pilots were there with May. May paced around, her arms behind her back as her eyes swept across the ground. Her bottom lip stuck underneath her top teeth as she nibbled on her bottom lip carefully. Careful not to break skin or anything along those lines. flicking her bun with her wrist her gaze suddenly turned to the team, the expression on her face saying, 'I'm not too happy right now. They lost, they were defeated and obviously May wasn't happy that they lost. She wasn't just disappointed, she was angry. She hated losing and that was clearly obvious.

"What part of this made sense? You all seemed to be trying hard, but obviously not hard enough. We were defeated by them, does everyone understand that?" She didn't even wait for a nod or a response as she started to continue her well... speech again. "It isn't over yet though, oh no, it isn't over with. We are stronger than them they don't know all we have to offer. They don't understand that just because they have won once before that they can continue to excel. It won't happen, why? Simply because we are going to train harder. We won't let a small defeat get to our brains to reach our goals. We are The Lion Team for dear sake! We will pull forward and shows that team who we really are. Is this not the truth? Our team will always pull through because we are The Lion Team. Are we not?" She grinned a little. "Struf ul Gluj! Struf ul Gluj!" She roared, her grin slowly turning into a smile. Her eyes swept across everyone as they followed carefully in the chant. Taking a step back she allowed them to take it away if they had anything else to say. Honestly she didn't have anything to say herself.
