Race:
Werewolf/Human mix

Gender:
Male

Personality:
Lucas prefers to stay on his own, living in the forests, like most of his kind. He doesn’t usually stay in one place for very long, either. At least, he didn’t used to. Now he’s found a large enough forest to stay and hide in, he’s decided to make himself comfortable. Sure, there’s a village with humans nearby, but he can feed himself, and hide well enough to avoid too much suspicion. He can be a bit of a softy, which is part of the reason he avoids others; no reason to go headlong into trouble, after all.

He likes wide, open spaces, and can’t stand being indoors. He prefers to have a challenge when hunting for food, and avoids eating humans. (Sometimes they’re far too easy to catch.) His soft spot won’t allow him to eat young creatures, like children, cubs, and chicks. Being around a lot of people, whether human or other werewolves, makes him uncomfortable, so he’s avoided joining any packs, and even left his own as soon as he could hunt for himself. He tends to be very territorial of his new forest, chasing off anyone he doesn’t want there.

History:
Lucas was born in a werewolf pack, but couldn’t find himself fitting in very well. So, as soon as he could hunt on his own, he left. For the most part, he travelled on his own, looking for a place to stay; where he could hide from humans and hunt for himself. He just believed he’d be better off on his own.

Once, though, there was a little girl wandering through his forest. He didn’t notice anything until he found her being attacked by a group of thugs. They didn’t usually come through his forest. That, plus the fact that they were attacking a young girl, a child, made him upset. So he dealt with the thugs; he didn’t like attacking humans, but at least he didn’t eat these ones; just chased them off. When he looked back to see if the girl was alright; she had already passed out.

He figured he had already done enough, and almost walked away. But it was a child, out in the middle of the woods, with wild animals, and possibly other thugs. He picked her up, and followed her scent back to what he assumed to be her house. Hopefully the parents either were out, looking for her, or heavy sleepers. He tucked her into what he hoped was her bed and left, hurrying back to his own forest.

Afterwards, he made sure to do a quick patrol of his forest. He couldn’t allow thugs to think they were safe there; they needed to be dealt with. He continues to do random patrols, scaring off anyone that dared to enter his woods. He had to keep his territory safe, after all.

So begins...

Lucas hesitated; if she had discovered it, it couldn't be too bad. He placed his board on the ground and put his foot on it. He looked down into the machinery again. As long as she had done it before, and was still alive, it shouldn't be too hard on her this time. He stiffened a bit at her words; baby pup? He shook his head, though, and pushed himself down the hill after her, focusing on gaining his balance for now. He'd focus more on catching up as soon as he figured out how to catch up with the priestess.

She giggled and smiled as she elegantly moved through the broke war machines and tanks. She smiled as she continued down the path going past a torched land field and downward.

Lucas nodded to himself; he could balance now, and it didn't take too long. He moved through the machinery, somewhat distracted; what were all of these war machines doing here? It was a peaceful village, so what need did they have of war machines? Well, they were old; maybe someone had decided to attack their little village years ago. Not that it mattered now; they had peace, and didn't seem to bother anyone else. He weaved through the machinery fairly easily, keeping an eye on her. It wouldn't do if he ever made a wrong turn. He glanced at the empty, torched field before focusing again on their race. Clearly there had been a war at some point, but it didn't matter now. Now he had to focus on this race. He was no baby pup!

She swiftly turned and slid down a large hill. The grass was a bit short but she had taken this path so many times she was use to it. She smiled and turned her head to him. "Better hurry~. I'm gonna win." She said teasingly before avoiding the rocks along the path.

Lucas hesitated, but let out a tiny growl, too quiet for her to hear. He wouldn't be called a pup. He crouched a little lower, giving him a little more speed. He blinked at the rocks, but relaxed and swerved through them. This wasn't so bad, really. It was fun, too; more fun than he had originally thought. Maybe that was a good thing, though? Now he was catching up, too; maybe he'd pass her?

"You'd be better off paying attention, not looking back here." Even if it was only a brief glance, it was still a distraction, and a lack of focus. He wasn't going to make that mistake, especially not when he didn't know the route himself.

She giggled and stuck her tongue out before seeing he was catching up. "Hehe. Don't worry about me." She said before crouching down for more speed. She smiled and pointed at the tree with a ribbon ok it. "Down there. There's the finish line."

Lucas glamced at the ribbon briefly before turning his atgention back to the race. There wasn't too much farther to go now; they were almost there. Seeing that she had crouched, he loweredhimself a little more. He surely weighed more than she did; his weight had to carry him downhill faster than her. He figured she must have tied the ribbon there, so she knew where to go. He'd just have to aim for right next to that tree, was all.

"Then it looks like this is almost over," he mumbled to himself. He was so close now.

She smiled as she continued to slide down hill. She then gasped seeing he had passed her. She was a bit impressed by him now. She knew when to admit defeat. As they passed the ribbon, she jumped off her board and smiled. "Wow. I'm impressed. I didn't even go easy on you." She said with a giggled. "Congratulations."

Lucas worked to hide a smile; he had finally passed her, and made it to the bottom. That hadn't been too bad at all. He had actually enjoyed himself. Obviously, he couldn't do it as a wolf, but maybe it was worth going into a human form every now and then. He glanced at Faire. Didn't even go easy? Good; then he had proved himself...sort of. Surfing down a hill wasn't really too much of a physical challenge; more balance than anything. He got off his board and looked back to her.

"Go easy? I weigh more than you; heavier things go faster down a hill. I'm not even going to call you a pup for that." Though part of him wanted to, especially when he was sure she would have done it at least once. She might have let it drop, but he wouldn't have liked it.

"So...where did this route take us, exactly?"

She giggled and stuck her tongue out. "Yeah well I'll get you next time." She then pouted slightly. "This is where the invasion of another village happened. They attacked us a long time ago. Their machines burned and destroyed the land but my grand mother saved the village with her powers."

Lucas shook his head. There was no way she'd win next time; not unless she either gained weight, or chose a path that was a lot harder to swerve through. He glanced around. Another village used to be here...he had never noticed. He hadn't known the ruins were here; if he had, he might have hidden there from time to time. But that wasn't really the biggest issue. Her grandmother must have had a lot of power to save the village like that. He may be in trouble if he's ever seen as a threat, especially if Faire had that kind of power.

"...The land could grow back, with the right care..." he noted, hoping to get rid of that pout. It was fairly irritating to him.

She gasped as she heard him then slowly sat down on the remains of the grass. She lightly placed her hand on the ground. "But it's been nearly 50 years since the war..... What is the land waiting for?" She said with a sigh. "I remember a beautiful field of flowers was here... And now they won't even ride from their ashes."

Lucas hesitated. Fifty years was a long time, he guessed, but that didn't mean too much. He looked over the field. It was in pretty bad shape, but it wouldn't be too hard, really. It would just take a lot of time, was all.

"It's not going to grow on its own...it'll need some help..." There was no way this field would grow back without help. He knew, if he took the time, he could get something to grow back. The hardest part was just going to get those smaller pieces of machines out of the way, snd figure out where to put them. Maybe it would be easier as a wolf? He figured if he was going to do that, he was better off working on that laterl

She smiled slightly. "You do have a point..... Perhaps it can be a little protect of mine. I'll help this field however I can. My people are still a bit frightened of the machines but I'm not scared. Their only metal." She said while standing.

Lucas nodded; they were just metal. Sure, you could hurt yourself if you weren't careful, but otherwise they were pretty much harmless. But she probably didn't have time for it that day. She always went into the forest, and she had been there for quite a while the day before; maybe it would be the same this day.

"Why would they be afraid of machines? They look like they've been beyond repair for quite a while...it's not like they're suddenly going to start working on their own."

She shrugged slightly. "Just the thought that these machines once destroyed out village must be too much for then. However I do agree with you. It can't just start again and attack us." She said before smiling. "I did enjoy myself this afternoon. Did you perhaps find it fun as well?"

At least there was someone in the village with some sense, Lucas thought. For everyone in the village to be afraid of machines...it seemed ridiculous to him. They weren't living things that could suddenly decide to get up and attack. But that meant no one was willing to clean up this mess, and that meant the field couldn't grow properly. Maybe he'd find a way to help after she left. Lucas nodded at her question, though.

"Yes, I did have fun today, and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, too," he replied.

She smiled and giggled. "Yes. I'm glad you did." She ten dusted off her dress and smiled. "I better get going. I'm going to meet a friend of mine." She said before giggling. "I wish I could introduce you but it's probably best that I don't."

Lucas hesitated, but nodded. She could go into the forest, he guessed. He'd just meet her there. Not that she'd know anything about that. He stretched, glancing around the field again.

"Well, if you think it's a bad idea, I won't bother you about it. Have fun," he added, giving her a wave. But he wouldn't go anywhere until after she had left, and was out of his sight, so he knew she wouldn't see him.

She smiled and hugged the male before smiling. "Thank you again for spending the afternoon with me. Lucas was it?" She said before waving and running off towards the village. "Stay safe." She said before heading to her home.
