Klaus is an honest and playful guy, he loves being surrounded by people on good days and on bad days he'll want to leave the castle all together. Klaus isn't one to just open his heart up and tell a stranger everything about himself, however he isn't rude at all. He is very well behaved thanks to his mother and father. Klaus is one who acts on want he believes in his heart is right, and hopes that one day he'll meet a princess that agrees with him on that because his father and mother never showed him that-that was a good way to go throughout life. Klaus would be a perfect King, he would take care of the people as long as he didn't have to go out there and do any work. Klaus is a very humorous guy, he will make a joke and smile anytime he is able too.

When Klaus found out he was supposed to marry the the Queen he felt a little bit uneasy about the whole situation, there had to be another way. However his brother was too young, and Klaus was after all the Crowned Prince. He began to worry about the whole situation, which he developed panic attacks because of this. He worried that she wouldn't like him, or that she would cheat on him like his many ex girlfriends in the past. However no matter how many times he talked to his parents, there was no way of getting out of this. So Klaus put on his charming face his mother raised him with and decided it had to be done.
|| History ||
Being the first born of the Royal family had it's advantages and disadvantages, a good one was that Klaus was able to do almost anything he wanted, but not even a year after he was born, his sister was born, and then his brother and other sister. He was too young to know if he enjoyed being spoiled or not. However as he grew older it was never much of a problem, he wanted to go and come as he pleased. He wanted to explore, and learn about the countries and kingdoms. He wanted to know everything about the world and travel to it all one day. However those dreams soon came to an end as the thought of him becoming king set into his mind more clearer. He stopped being so adventurous and started hanging out with the guards more. He learned to be a guard pretty much, learning how to fight for himself and then learning how to rule a kingdom. By the time he was ready he was being married off by his parents. He honestly couldn't believe that they'd be so cruel at first. However after a while he became very excited.

So begins...

Gwen was sitting in her carriage with her ladies, even though she was nervous about seeing Prince Klaus, she couldn't wait to get out of the carriage. To her, it was worse than being cooped up in the castle, at least at the castle, she could sneak out, get some fresh air and just get away for a while, but there was no way to sneak out of a carriage. Of course she'd much rather be riding a horse, but that just wasn't proper. The thought made her role her eyes, she hated that word, proper. Just because she was a queen she had different rules that she had to follow, sometimes she wished that she was just a regular girl, someone who could follow her heart rather than duty, but then again, she wouldn't trust her kingdom to anyone else.

Gwen sighed, placing her chin on her fist, staring out the window, normally she and her ladies could talk non stop, but she wasn't really in the mood for talking, her mind was in a million different places. Thinking about the prince she was supposed to marry, and the man she loved, if only things could be simpler. As if summoned by her thoughts, Zxander showed up beside the carriage and her heart fluttered in her chest. When he mentioned them stopping to give everyone a break, she smiled happily, glad for a chance to get out of the carriage. "A rest would be good," She said with a nod of her head.

When they came to a stop, she carefully stepped out of the carriage, stretching her muscles that were tired from sitting in the carriage for so long. Inhaling deeply, she breathed in the fresh air that surrounded them, feeling much better now that she was outside. It didn't take long for her eyes to fall on the Capitol, they weren't too far away, seeing it up close made her a little more nervous. She hoped she was doing the right thing, she knew this is what her father wanted, and she didn't doubt his judgement, she just hoped that this decision would make her happy and would be lucrative for her kingdom, though of those two, her happiness was the least important, her kingdom came first, it always would.

The smallest bit of light made it's way through Klaus's curtains, hitting only his eyes. He tossed and turned in his bed, trying to escape the light, just wanting to sleep for a few more minutes. Today was going to be one stressful day for his family and he needed every last bit of sleep he could get. However the light wasn't allowing him to sleep on this super early morning, Klaus shoved his head underneath his thousands of pillows in an attempt to escape the sunlight, however that didn't work. He could still feel the sun beaming on his skin. With a sigh in defeat Klaus pushed all the pillows off his bed and sat up, the silk sheets fell off his bare chest, relieving the tiniest bit of chest hair. He scratched at his chest before running a hand through his hair, releasing a long dramatic exhale. He sat there, staring at different objects around his room, before a knock came to his door. He glanced at the door, half expecting it to open however only another knock came to the door. "Sir Klaus, it is time to start your ever so busy day. Your mother would like you in the dinning hall in ten minutes" Tasha's voice came through the door, the head maid of the castle. Usually it was the Queen herself waking each of her beloved children up every morning, if she wasn't doing it that meant it was a nervous day for her.

Klaus didn't want to upset his mother on such a big day, so he quickly got out of bed and literally took a two minute shower. He dressed himself rather dashing before leaving the room and heading to the dinning hall. He was the last to join, his brother and sister had already made themselves to the room. "Good morning mother, father. I trust you both slept well." He greeted his parents. As he walked by his sister he gave her a small kiss on the cheek and then ruffled his younger's brother's hair before sitting beside him.

A plate was already made for Klaus, and it had everything he liked and nothing he didn't like on it. However on lazy days he was allowed to pile up his own plate. However he knew he shouldn't eat like a pig with all the events he had planned for today. As he ate, the room didn't stay quite for long as his mother started to address all of the plans for today. He stopped her as he smiled at her, meeting her eyes, something he only did when he didn't like what she was saying. "After tea, I will take her where ever I want. I'm getting married to her, not you. So please allow me to pick where her and I will get to know each other." When his mother said something about guards Klaus rolled his eyes, he hated more than ever for a guard to stalk him around. "No guard will be entering my room, my stable, or my hiding spots in the gardens." He told his mother, not afraid to talk back to the woman.

Today was the day that Queen Katarina had dreaded for, with everything on her mind she had no idea if her son was actually getting married today or if the young Queen was just coming to meet Klaus. The Queen hadn't gotten any sleep the night before so she was up all morning, making sure all her servants and maids were off doing exactly what they were supposed to do. Instead of waking her children up, like she would do every morning, she went to the garden to make sure all the flowers were cut to perfection. Her long beautiful dress flowed down to the ground, her hair was in a braided bun, and her her golden crown sat perfectly on her head. When she had first started wearing crowns, it would give her headaches, however over the years of being a queen she got away with padding the insides so she would not get horrible headaches.

After coming to the conclusion that everything was as it was supposed to be, she went back inside to help prepare the table for breakfast. She knew if her mother was still alive she yell at Katarina, telling her she is doing a maid's job. However being the mother figure of the household, no matter how big it may big, she needed to keep herself busy or she may just go mad before Queen Gwen even stepped foot on the Kingdom's castle. Once the table was set she sat in her usual spot at the table, which was to the right of where her husband sat. She still couldn't believe a sixteen year old was running a kingdom, she would have loved to meet the girl's parents. If only they weren't killed, as she sat in her seat she noticed her children coming in as well as her husband, she placed her hand over her husband's after he sat beside her.

Klaus was the last to join them, and then she was eating. Forcing herself to eat wasn't a healthy habit, however if she didn't she could go all day without eating. She smiled as her eldest son greeted her. She had finished her food and was given a glass of wine. As she sat back in her seat she started to go over today's activities. "Queen Gwen will arrive in one hour, your fahter and yourself will greet them at the gates and invite them in. Where the rest of us will be waiting inside to give formal greetings. Yourself and the Queen will then go to the garden to have tea. I would like to suggest after that the two of you go to the music room or somewhere you can relate to each other."

Her son demanded that he would take her where ever he wanted, she had spoke one word. guards next before he got a bit upset with her. She let this one slide however, being as she knew he was under a lot of stress as well. "I'm sure the Queen always has a guard beside her. It will take a lot of convincing to get that guard away. I'm not too sure that should be done today."

Richard Beves

Richard was sleeping in a alone in a room that was specially made for him. The room had no windows which meant that he couldent tell if it was still night or day, but the room was thankfully lit by candles. Soon a knock on his door was heard. "Lord Richarde. Today is the day the young queen of Vecar comes to marry your son. Also Queen Katarina would like you in the dining hall within ten minutes." He recognized the voice as one of his guards that was tasked to follow him around and protect him. He sat up from his bed and rubbed his eyes. "I will be out in a few minutes, please assemble the rest of the guards and wait outside my room." The voice on the other side simply walked off the gather the rest of the guards.

He took three minutes to shower and another three minutes to get dressed. If the queen of Vecar was coming he had to look his best. Soon he left his room, dressed in a black uniform the former king wore. Outside waiting for him was ten guards, each saluting him as he left him room.

He soon found himself in the dining hall with a group of guards right behind him. He was greeted by his firstborn son and soon sat down next to his beloved wife who put her arm around his shoulder, and in return he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. The guards who had followed him took up positions at the edge of the room and a man dressed in simple clothes stood next to him. He was tasked to taste the Kings food in case it was poisoned.

He didint eat his food at first and instead listen to his wife as she planned out the day from them. He and his son would greet the queen personally and invite them inside the castle. His son and the queen would then be left alone with eachother. While he listened, the man next to him silently ate peices of food off the Kings plate so he wouldent disturb their conversation. After sampling the different foods on the plate he tapped the Kings shoulder twice, signaling it was safe to eat.

When his son mentioned not having a guard in certain specific areas he grew worried, but when his wife let it slide he decided not to push the subject further. "Remember everyone, this event is very important to all of us. I expect everyone to behave themselfs and to not cause trouble." He spoke firmly before taking a bite out of his food which had gone warm.

When Queen Gwen nodded, Zxander rode off to the side of the road and dismounted. By the time he walked back to the carriage Gwen was stepping out. He bowed, "Your Majesty." Then came Lady Julia, a girl who Zxander could relate to, for she came form a family that fought for the kingdom. Having lost her brothers in the same fight that claimed his father, made him respect her a lot more. But unlike him, she still had her parents, who now sat safe in an empty house back in Vecar. She did rube him the wrong way, she seemed a lot like the princesses who would visit, to much of a goody goody, better then everyone else. Still he grow to see her almost as a second sister. Then there was Lady Ellyn, she was more of a wild spirited girl then a proper lady of court, but she had a good heart and was trying. Zxander admired her free, wild spirit and her devotion to duty. His eyes then moved to HIS men, each one would follow him into hell or would make the charge for him at the drop of a command. Each one willing to lay down their life for each other or the queen, it was in deed his great honor to serve along side these men. They were more family then anything, they hid no secrets from each other, know everything about each other, know everyone's family if they have any. And they all know of Zxanders sacrifice, first his father protecting the King and then his sister protecting the Queen. They know his dedication to his duty, he had been serving since he was young and if anyone questioned Zxander's loyalty or devotion they were personally offended.

That's when he heard Julia and Ellyn speak up. "Wow, we are much closer than I had anticipated. Soon this silly adventure shall be completed and we can restore order, all thanks to you.""It's not like we have much to do with it, it's her that has to do all the work. I'm sorry for asking, your Grace, but are you-" Zxander walks over to them, "Ladies, you do important work. You tend to her majesty and are her closest friends. In the coming days she will need you more then ever. And Lady Ellyn, how could she not be ok, she's got you two with her, the most beautiful and caring ladies in all of Vecar. Her two true friends. And it doesn't hurt that she also has twelve of Vecar's finest watching out for her. Of course, thou the rest are good, none are as good as yours truly." He said as loving as he could with out sounding to soft in front of his men. His words were not meant to be showy but were meant to lighten the mood.

Just then Zxander snapped to attention and started looking around, like a watchful prairie dog. "DALIBOR! OUR RIDER?!""NO SIR!""OK GET EVERYONE BACK IN THE CARRIAGE NOW!! THEN MY THREE ON ME, EVERYONE ELSE KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED!" Once the queen and her ladies were loaded, Dalibor, Wymond and Ratimir rode over to Zxander who had mounted his horse. The four of the whispered to each other, trying not to look worried. When they were done Wymond dismounted and switched places with the guard that rode on the back of the carriage. Ratimir rode to the back of the group as Dalibor retook is spot at the front. Zxander rode just ahead of the group and turned to them, "IT HAS BEEN MY GREATEST HONOR TO SERVE ALONG SIDE YOU ALL! WE ARE VECAREN! WE ARE THE QUEEN'S GUARD! FOR VECAR! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! LONG MAY SHE REIGN!" In perfect unison, "WE ARE VECAREN! WE ARE THE QUEEN'S GUARD! FOR VECAR! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! LONG MAY SHE REIGN!" A moment later the queen and her ladies hear a horse ride of as fast as it can. A few seconds later the carriage starts to move again. They ride straight to the main gates of the capital.

Zxander riding in front of the caravan arrives before the King and the prince. With a bow, "Your majesty. Queen of Vecar, Queen Gwen Devereaux. With all due respect, I would prefer we save this for when we are at the keep, the trip was not uneventful. I would feel much better at the keep your majesty."

As Richarde finished the last of his meal, a guard showed up into the dining hall. "My lord. A carriage is arriving at the castle. Please make your way to the gates along with the prince." The king stood up from his chair upon hearing the news and made his way to the guard who in return began to guide him to the castle gates. The guards in the dining hall who accompanied him also followed right behind him.

As soon as he made it to the gates along with his son, a man riding in front of the caravan arrived before them and bowed. He told them that the Queen was with them but he preferred to save the rest of their conversation until they were in the keep since their trip was uneventful. "As you wish. Please follow me to the keep then we can discuss the rest." He then began to lead them to the keep. The guards that was with him seemed be be more closer to the king and were only an arms length from him, it seemed that the king was a very cautious man, and the guards seemed to be on edge.

Danny found himself suddenly awoken by his royal bodyguard, Jorvis Bailey. The only bodyguard to earn Danny's respect, and not to be a knight before attaining his position. But he was as skilled as any knight, possibly even more skilled. Danny never really pryed into his past, because he could tell he was running from it himself. But Danny knew he was a good man, and he was sure in time Jorvis would tell him. Plus, he was the only bodyguard that had so far been able to keep up with Danny.

"Didn't anyone tell you its rude to see your prince naked? Especially when your waking him up when he doesn't want to be?"

"Last time I checked, many royalty and nobility have their servants help dress them. But then, you are not like those people. And if someone tried to kill you while you were naked? Your mother would have me killed if I let that happen". Danny knew that regardless of whether he meant it as a joke or not, that was probably true. "Plus, your family did request you be cleaned and dressed to greet the royal family".

"Calling it! You only said cleaned and dressed!" Danny announced, and Jorvis knew what that meant. It meant there was nothing saying Danny had to dress up in any fancy clothes. He hoped out of bed, and started to get his most comfortable clothes out. Which was actually also his favorite archery and training gear. "Now leave, I am not helpless like others who have servants and guards. I can do this myself.

"Are you sure you want to though? Sonya is free to help you right now" Jorvis told him, and Danny's face went red. Sonya is a servant girl of the castle, and Danny had a crush on her. All the princesses and noble girls here had makeup and servants to help them look beautiful, but Sonya, at least to Danny, was just naturally beautiful. Danny would have objected if it was anyone else as a result.

Jorvis left and Sonya came in to help him. It did make things go a lot quicker, and Danny was a bit embarrassed, but this was one of the only times he could be alone with her. After all, people had all these expectations about royalty. Now, Danny did not care at all, but he was worried that if anyone knew of his crush, or if anyone learned of any relationship they started, she would be in danger.

Once everything was all done, they left the room. "Thank you Sonya. I was just a bit tired today. I wouldn't normally do that..."

Sonya smiled at him. "I know, you were out all last night. Rumors spread quickly, of a hidden archer taking down some bandits harassing various farms at random. Don't worry, Prince. I won't tell anyone, and I think you are a great person".

After she said that, she looked into his eyes and smiled at him, before leaving to resume her duties. He just gazed at her for a while until she turned the corner, before going to visit the guests. At least he would be in a good mood. He arrived just in time to see his father, brother, and the queen's caravan arriving. He would be easy to spot, being the boy wearing different clothing then all the others, with only one royal guard with him instead of a squad. He waved at them.

"Good morning father! Brother! Visitors!"

Zxander and Wymond rode ahead to the stables then walked to the front stairs of the keep to await the queen. When she arrived, the men flanked the carriage door with Zxander on the right side. Wymond opened the door as Zxander announced, "Her majesty. Queen Gwen Devereaux. Queen of Vecar." With a slight bow as she exited, "With all due respect your majesty. We need to get you inside, now." he whispered and then took is spot behind her. The men escorted her inside the keep were the rest of the royal family was waiting.

Gwen hadn't been happy, having to get back into the carriage so quickly, but she knew Zxander only did what he had to do to keep her safe and she couldn't begrudge him for that. She climbed back into the carriage with her ladies, giving a small smile of reassurance to them. They were her friends first and foremost in her mind and it made her happy that they seemed to worry about her well being, more than just as their queen. "I'm fine, Ellyn." She said quietly, the smile not leaving her face. Even though she wasn't completely sure that statement was true, she wasn't going to show weakness, especially not now when her kingdom needed her to be strong.

The next thing she knew, they'd reached the capital and had arrived at the keep. She took a quiet, deep breath, preparing herself as she took Wymond's hand, helping her out of the carriage. Gwen glanced around at their surroundings, thinking about her kingdom, feeling a little homesick being so far away. Though she didn't have long to dwell on these feelings as Zxander's voice cut through, reminding her they had to get inside. With a quick nod of her head, she walked into the keep with them, her head held high.

When she stood in front of the king and the two princes, she hesitated briefly, glancing from one to the other before giving a quick curtsy, "Your majesty," She said, showing her respect before straightening up again

The food that was before him had suddenly become disgusting, Klaus dropped his fork and shook his head. He sat there in silence, before nodding to his father that had explained that this sitution was a very big deal and they should all behave. Klaus was nervous and literally felt like he was going to puke. He just hoped that it wasn't all over the Queen's dress. Before he knew it a soldier had told his father that it was time to greet the Queen at the gates. He stood quickly and joined his father. As he walked with his father he looked at the ground. "I think I'm going to be sick or faint." He told his father, not really making eye contact.

He took a big sigh as the Queen walked towards him, she curtsied at him and his father, and as an instinct Klaus took a step towards her and bowed, taking her hand and giving it a slight kiss before standing straight and dropping her hand. He looked her in the eyes, smiling honestly. "It truly is a pleasure to meet you. You are even more gorgeous than I imagined." He took a step back beside his father, as to not disturb her personal bubble. He turned towards his father and waited for him to say or do something because Klaus's mind was all over the place at the moment. He looked towards Queen's Gwen's guard, and took note that the guy was closer then a guard should be. His plans of actually being alone with her probably weren't going to go down that way.

As her son and husband left the Queen burred her face in her hands and sighed. Today was going to be one stressful day and she would need a long massage after the day was through. She helped the maids clean up the table while she waited for the boys to walk their guests inside. Once she was done in the dinning room, she walked to the front room, where she paced the room waiting for them to come walking in. After a while, her butler came to her side, informing her that she had work that needed to be done. She sighed, realizing she did not have time to stand there and wait for them. "Well.. I suppose I should go do that work then." She smiled at her butler and took his arm, her guards followed her to her personal office. The butler read her the list of subjects that needed to be addressed today. She sighed, rubbing her forehead. Her head ached and her nose burned from some scent that filled her office. She shook her head, fighting off the urge to leave the room and started to go through the papers on her desk. She looked up at her guards. "Please wait outside the door." She told them. After they left she gestured for her butler to sit down in front of her. "First things first. Please let my husband know that I'd like to speak to the Queen as soon as she feels comfortable too." She watched her butler leave and then looked down at her papers, most of them had to do with the marriage. However there was one where a neighboring kingdom was asking for troops. She would need to discuss that one with her husband.

Richarde Beves

Richarde was now worried about his sone after he mentioned to him that he was feeling sick or was about to faint. As they greeted the queen his son greeted her first giving her hand a slight kiss before returning to his fathers side. He was next to greet the queen. "Welcome to my kingdom queen of Vecar. It is a pleasure to meet you in person." He gave a slight bow before standing upright just as the butler the queen sent arrived. He looked at him and that's when the butler whispered something in his ear relaying what the queen wanted him to relay.

After the butler relayed the message, Richarde excused him before turning to the queen. "If it's not to much trouble, once your feeling comfortable and ready, my wife would like to speak to you. You will also have my word that your guards and everyone who accompanied you will be treated with the upmost respect and their needs will be taken care of by my servants. Rest assured your saftey will be ensured." After speaking to the queen he turned to his son and put a hand on his shoulder. "Please relax Klaus. Your doing just fine. Take a deep breath and relax, I know you might be pressured but rest assured this will be over before you know it." He whispered in his ear before preparing to lead everyone further into the keep.

Ellyn Falk - Dialogue color: #608341

There was a short stretch of awkward silence, while her cheeks puffed until she couldn’t hold back the incredulous laughter anymore. Charmer.
”You be careful an arrow doesn't find that big head of yours“, she joked. But his words did make her feel better, and the least she could do was smile gratefully at Zxander for his support. She couldn’t add anything, however, as their stop was cut short, and she was shooed back into the carriage before she could see why.

Her worry kept her curiosity in check, focusing on Gwen instead after glancing at Julia. While not convinced of the answer, she did return the smile. If their queen intended to be strong, so would she. “We’ll always be here to support you.” A promise she was intending to keep, even if she missed home and her family, they had each other at least. For now, their queen only had them. Julia and her might have their differences but she was certain they agreed on that.
And with that, the journey came to its end and she couldn’t get out of the carriage fast enough.

The way to the keep seemed too short to take it all in. From the lofty and sweeping architecture to the colors and the energy in the air, it was strange and exotic. Small details caught her attention: the delicate carvings on the arches, the glistening metal of the guards plates, the sweet oils of the citrus fruits. It was hard not to gawk at everything, especially once they arrived at their destination.
It took her a second to notice Gwen had already curtsied. Ellyn quickly followed her queen’s example, timing off and not able to keep her eyes on the ground.
Well, the prince was handsome, she had to give him that. Not the best qualifier for a happy marriage but should he turn out to be incredibly dull, Queen Gwen would still have something nice to look at. So far also very polite but if all her time at court had taught her anything, those things could be easily faked.
A bit fixated on his father, perhaps. Although it was hard not to be, the Commoran king had a presence that didn't demand but outright conquered respect.
Suddenly the ground was interesting enough after all.

Danny could not help but notice his brother being seemingly bothered. Part of him hated this whole show that was being put on, but another part of him just had to take advantage of it. He walked over to his brother, barely suppressing a grin. "How you feeling? Are you already thinking of children? Who are we inviting to the wedding? There is that one baker near the market, makes some great bread. I mean, the royal chef is great or at least good at making everything, but nothing seems to beat that bread".

If he was going to have to deal with all this showy stuff and what not, he was at least going to take full advantage of it for his pleasure as much as he could. He turned towards the queen of Vecar. "I am his younger brother, Danny Beves. Technically, its Daniel, but thats such an uptight name, so I prefer Danny. You must have come a long way, your guards too. Sorry my brother happens to be the oldest, everyone knows I am the more charming one".

With that done, he looked towards her guards. "You know, you can relax now. This would be a notoriously short wedding if this was all to threaten her life, and if it was, I could think of five ways it could have already been done. Besides, we are inside the keep after all. The only threat to her would be eating too fast or suffocating from a lack of freedom".

Danny knew how much freedom royal families really had. He might not be a big fan of the wedding, but he was willing to do a lot for any royal to get some breathing room.

Duchess Masha Le'Reign

What a fine day it was this morning, which was something the Cammoran's were no doubt glad to take advantage of. They would wish to make a perfect welcome for their son's bride to be, they had a reputation as a perfectly run kingdom and generous hosts to uphold. This bride, the too young for all of this Queen, rode in her carriage with two of her other ladies in waiting, meanwhile Masha rode on horseback, trailing after it. Masha always managed to weasel her way out of rules that applied to the other ladies in waiting, while it was a duty that the late King, may he rest in peace, forced on her in penance for the abandonment of her father the late Duke, may he rest in peace; (Or perhaps it wasn't penance but an honor, Masha could never tell which the King had intended, though it was safe to assume he had intended both as the man was a shrewd politician even in old age.) Masha had always felt constrained by it. As a lady in waiting she could not carry out the duties of a Duke, she could not fight away Vecar's enemies, which was a waste and tactical mitake on the late King's, may he rest in peace, part. Masha was a well seasoned fighter of over ten years, she knew how to make due with a smaller number than your enemy had and she had the Iron Bastards sworn to her command. Had she been made use of in that respect perhaps the King would still be alive, resting in peace be damned it was really his fault he was dead anyway. What was that foolish old man thinking riding off into battle anyway?

Masha's train of thought was interrupted by the ever so busy Zxander, the lovely silence of the morning was broken by his commands. Bogden do this or that, Dalibor over here do this thing, Masha didnt pay too much attention, she just knew they must be close if Zxander was fussing. He very much reminded her of a rooster clucking at his brood, he clucked away so diligently, it was no wonder he was so young and yet so highly ranked. Masha kept to her position, back straight and eyes ahead, watching him from her peripheral vision as he leaned in to the carriage's window and asked the Queen if she would like to stop and rest. Knowing the Queen she would say yes, and a moment later that prophecy rang true, they stopped for a break. Masha wondered, not for the first time, if either Zxander or Gwen knew how one admired the other. In a cruel twist of fate and comedy, probably not.
Image
Dismounting Rollo, her riding stallion, Masha pulled a sugar cube from her pockets and fed him, "You should like Commora Rollo, their stables probably put ours to shame." Masha rubbed his nose, back to the rest of the party, unsure how long they were to stop for and wanting to make sure Rollo was well rewarded. As pretty and fast as he was, he was also a brat, and would act up if not properly tended to. Although Masha could hear the pleasant sounds of young people speaking they were cut rather short before Vecar's own rooster howled. "That was hardly any time at all." Masha commented more to herself than anyone. The ladies were ushered back into their carriage and they were off once more. Did Zxander really think Cammoran land would be attacked by raiders? They had their land under control, it was Vecar that was in disarray. They rushed to the gates at a pace quicker than before.

A low whistle escaped Masha's lips as they entered, did this place become more beautiful than last time she was here? Or was it just that a rank of Duchess offered a different point of view than one of a common mercenary. It was probably both. Masha dismounted, releasing the reigns to the stablehands and taking her place behind Ellyn and Julia, who stood behind the Queen. Really Masha should have been in line beside them, but she had her reasons, chief most being that she didn't feel like being noticed. Gwen was the important party here, it would be easy to kick back in the shadow of her spotlight.

It did not escape her notice that the Queen Katarina was not there to greet her grace Gwen, but Gwen was gracious about it, just as the Prince to greet her was charming. The King was masterfull in his welcome and respectful, the sort of respectful that made you feel as though it were your duty to bow to him. He assured Gwen that she would be well protected, no doubt taking note of how tense Zxander was. He was also no doubt sympathetic to their situation, having only recently suffered the loss of their King. Truthfully they has every reason to be on edge, the situation was desperate, and Masha was being too flippant about it. She silently reprimanded herself for that and made an empty promise to be more aware. As the made their way into the castle Masha stole a glance down at Ellyn, whose downcast eyes told her that she was feeling particularly humble and shy at the moment, Masha almost smiled at that, almost. She instead softly brushed a knuckle on the back of Ellyn's neck to startle her out of her intense study of the polished floor before returning her hand behind her back where it belonged.

The other Prince, as he would forever be known so long as his brother succeeded the throne, decided to tease his brother and make himself known to Queen Gwen. He was speaking loudly enough that Masha could just about hear him, and her height provided her with the perfect view of the trio.

It took every ounce of strength to resist saying or doing some thing against the young prince. "How could a member of a royal family act with such disrespect towards a Queen and guest. Even as a prince, he should have bowed before her, and then calling out the captain of the royal guard like that. That little SCOBBERLOTCHER, GOBERMOUCH, GNASHGAB, DALCOP, FOPDOODLE. How dare he say such things, of course the royals wouldn't want her dead right away, but after the wedding and once she has given them an heir. On top of that, if Gwen wanted me to back off and give her room, all she needed to do was say so" he thought. To him protecting her was only part of his job. He must also tend to her health and wellbeing. Though after backing off, he would try and find a way to follow her unnoticed, for she was not just his Queen , but his closes friend, they have been through too much together to let her go. Zxander knows she can handle herself, but he also knows that they are stronger together. So he just gives the little prince a respectful nod and continues to follow Gwen.

As he followed Gwen into the keep, his men fanned out around the room so only he and Wymond remained by the queens side. Suddenly images off the two attacks, the one that claimed the king and his father and the one that claimed his sister, started to rush through his mind as his concern for the queen and his two missing men grow. This caused him to loss a few steps, trying to shake the strong flashbacks. Wymond, concerned for Zxander but not wanting to show weakness slowed to match Zxanders speed. After a few seconds Zxander was able to clear his head enough to casually retake his position, arms reach away from Gwen's back right side. Wymond followed suit on her back left side.

Gwen smiled at Klaus as he greeted her, a slight blush forming on her cheeks at his compliment. He seemed a little nervous, but charming nonetheless. She actually found his nerves endearing, knowing that she's not the only one feeling nervous about this meeting. Gwen nodded at the king's words, following him deeper into the keep.

When Danny spoke, she gave a polite smile. She could feel Zxander bristling behind her at the young prince's actions and words. "It's a pleasure to meet you." She said to Danny before glancing back at the king. She actually meant those words, even though he didn't adhere to proper etiquette when greeting her, she didn't take any offense to it. Gwen was sure that she and the young prince would get along, after all he was going to be her brother soon enough.

"If it's alright, I wish to spend some time with Prince Klaus, before meeting with the Queen." She said, her hands clasped in front of her as they walked, the only hint of her nerves was the white of her knuckles as her grip on her hand tightened. She didn't want to do or say the wrong thing to anger the king or queen, knowing that her kingdom's future relies on this marriage and alliance.

Richard Beves

As Richarde continued through the halls, his other son Danny, began to tease his brother and greeted Queen Gwen Devereaux in the most disrespectful manner he had ever seen. He was outraged which was clearly shown on his face, and he was ready to give him the scolding of a lifetime, but the Queen replied with a greeting of her own and looked at him, mentally telling him she meant those words.

Richarde calmed down when Gwen wasn't offended by his sons manner, but he was going to have a talk with his wife about the behavior that Danny displayed today, so she could administer the punishment since she is the one who interacted with them the most.

As they continued to walk, Gwen spoke up asking if she could spend some time with Prince Klaus. "By all means, take your time. We wish for you to have a pleasant experience while you are here, so if I seemed to have rushed you please forgive me. You can meet my wife when you feel the need to do so." He replied before stopping a intersection with three branching paths with one path leading to the left, one leading to the middle, and one to the right. He turned to the group behind him before talking. "This is were we part ways for now, Klaus will now be guiding you from here on out since I have some important buisness to discuss with my wife, then afterwards I have to complete some important tasks that concern my kingdom. You are both be free to do whatever you want as long as it's within reasonable standards. If you wish to see the Queen, take the corridor that I will be walking through and ask one of the guards to lead you to her room. As for your guards and companions, they shall take a left here so they can go to the guest quarters and their needs will be taken care of. But now, I wish you all a great day." He bowed deeply before heading down the corridor in the middle of the intersection.

Danny was both a bit surprised, and pleased, by what the Queen said, and how genuinely she said it. He was starting to like her already. Of course, it mattered more about what his brother felt, but that was besides the point. As his father came over, he couldn't help but remark. He smiled a little.

"Finally, someone who knows how to take a joke. Let me tell you, so many people here are so uptight and serious, I have to get my fill of smiles and laughter in when I can. Its nice to know I am not the only one from the royal family who feels like that, and that you can take pleasure in some simple humor. Well then, I shouldn't actually be rude on purpose now and forget to reply. It is a pleasure to meet you too, welcome to our lands. If you want to go anywhere scenic, you should let me know. The people here tell me all the nicest places" he told her, still smiling and speaking in a voice that while sounded respectful, also sounded casual. "Personally, I think its important to not just speak formal all the time, but that everyone should be a bit more relaxed and talk to the people. For example, I am trying to personally talk to every single person who lives here. Personal opinion, if you are going to rule a land, you should either have an advisor who knows as many if not every person in the city, or know them yourself. For example, the royal forger does great work with steel, makes the strongest there is in this land, but there is a forgemaster near the market who creates equisite tools that while might not be as strong, seem to be extra durable and last longer, as well as somehow creating these amazing designs on his works".

Once you got Danny talking, it could sometimes be hard for him to shut up. "Besides, a great way of knowing if your doing a good job is to walk through town with no guards. If the people act hostile or attack you, your doing a bad job. But if you can walk through town, and everyone treats you with the respect and kindness you have earned, then not only do you know your doing a great job, but you also don't have to live in fear. And besides, you should always be nice to people you rule over, or lord over, or whatever. After all, they are doing all this hard work for you. They should be treated with respect for all the hard work they do every day. But that doesn't mean you have to go all formal on them all the time. For example, I was casual with you before, but it was the exact opposite of disrespect. In fact, that was my way of respecting you. You get greeted the same way by everyone else, every day, for your entire life. I thought it would be nice if you had some....variety. Something new and unexpected, and instead of having to worry about formalities, you could just casually talk with. Anyways, if that is what you want, alright then. Don't have too much fun though".

It was fairly obvious from what Danny said that he admired people for speaking their mind, and both showing respect but also not being uptight and formal all the time. Some might say it would make him a bad prince, who is just asking for trouble. But others, and many people in this city, would say it makes him a great prince, because he doesn't want people to butter up the truth. He wants to know it, so that he can help them the best he can. That was what people could gleem from him right there. That he was someone who had a good heart and a mind that people should be able to say what they want, so long as they were not being deliberately hurtful. And that all those details were just a part of him.

They could also probably figure out he has a habit of causing trouble because he does not like following norms.

Ellyn Falk - Dialogue Color: #608341

The tiles were polished with such care that the smooth stone reflected her image, distorted by the patterns and swirls within the light colored grain. Ellyn hardly recognized herself, looking more like a parody of her mother than the girl she had been when she left home three years ago.
It was not her that should be standing here, she knew that. Either of her sisters would have made a better match; graceful and eloquent, confident…. refined. Things she never was and most likely never would be.
Her thoughts wandered into dark places she did not want to follow, Arlen protect her.

Something cold stroked against the nape of her neck, there one second, gone the next. Her shoulders tensed, her jaw rigid. Immediately snapped around, eyebrows raised.
Her expression softened when she found Masha to be the culprit, breath she hadn’t been aware of holding flowing again. Ellyn raised her head to meet her eyes, smiling at her before focusing her attention to the situation at hand with renewed poise.

The duchess had been nothing but kind to her, supporting her in every court encounter and catching the conversation when she let it fall. With her there, everything would work out, she was absolutely certain.
Just as she was starting to dwell on her, entering stage left came the young prince. He was small, considering everything at least three years younger than their queen.
He also had quite the mouth on him, and Ellyn had to press her lips together not to laugh. Charming might not be the word she’d use for him, but amusing? Yes, very much so.
She just hoped he wouldn’t lose his spirit when he grew older, even if the King looked like he might
explode for a second or two.

She couldn’t help but feel pride for the way Queen Gwen diffused the situation, eyes still fixed on the young boy. While his points rang true, judging from her own experiences, it would lead to trouble in his future. Speaking of trouble, she doubted Gwen would get the privacy she wished for, her everwatchful hound would be trailing behind her, surely. But the time the royal children spend together would give her at least some opportunity to explore.
In Vecar she had sneaked out at night, trying to map the way between her room and the northern tower, sneaking past guards and servants until she reached the top of it. It was foolish, but she could have sworn to see her wilds from there, the forest that surrounded her parents’ home. She went often, picturing she could fly back and see her family, and the thought had given her at least some peace of mind.
There would be no tower overlooking her past here, just unfamiliar scenery. But for now, the excitement would be enough.

Bobbing a quick curtsy to Gwen and the Comorran princes, and mentally wishing her luck, she turned to Masha wide-eyed and expectant, motioning towards the left path as if trying to ask if she’d be coming too.

Duchess Masha Le'Reign

Honestly, was it Zxander's intention to botch this whole thing? If that were the case then coming all the way to Commora was a huge waste of time, at the very least he could have bothered informing everyone 'oh no everyone it's alright I'm going to show the Commoran royal family disrespect and suspicion so you needn't bother packing for more than a day or so.' That would have been the polite thing to mention. If she were someone who gave a damn she'd be annoyed right about now, near ready to throw Zxander on the sparring ground and give him a what-for. But that was beneath her.

Masha looked to the left, peering down the hallway they were to take in order to be made comfortable, the King was busy and the two potential newly weds were to be left alone, something Zxander did not seem keen on. For that matter the young Prince didn't seem too keen on the idea either, more content to lay his entire life philosophy on the Queen's lap. For one so young he was highly opinionated, and more or less they were at least half logical and not entirely blind, even if they were naive. He seemed to think it was due to his attentions that he was afforded smiles and generosity in the public eye, when really it had more to do with the prospect of a commoner losing those eyes if they dared looked at him the wrong way. It was nice, she supposed, that he kept his people in mind, but did not seem to know of any importance nobles held and how much any royal's power relied on their cooperation or what part formalities played in keeping those nobles respected and in line. Young was the word that came to mind when considering his words, young, loud, and idealistic. Hopefully he grew to both keep and tame those traits to better serve his station in life.

Now how to get Zxander away from the lovebirds before he made things so awkward everyone died of embarrassment? God's knew Queen Gwen couldn't keep diffusing the situation and making excuses for him the entire day, that would benefit no one. That was when Ellyn gave her an idea. Ah beautiful Ellyn, always shedding light wherever she went bless her.

"We shall take our leave of you then your Graces." Masha approached between Zxander and Wymond and gave a bow, skillfully looping her arms around theirs when she came up, "As we have important business to discuss and the lady Ellyn and we have great need of your expertise do we not lady Ellyn?" Masha firmly brought them with her towards the left, pointedly giving a look at Ellyn, telling her to play along, "And we mustn't disappoint her after all for she is a lady, and keeping a lady delayed and unattended is of the most heinous of crimes wouldn't you say Zxander?" She would take care of the guards, and trusted that Prince Klaus would know how to handle his own brother, or Queen Gwen would take those reigns.

Gwen smiled at the king, relieved that her request to spend time with Prince Klaus hadn't upset or offended him. She took a deep breath, trying to shake off her nerves. Once the king left, she glanced over her shoulder at Zxander and her guards, hoping they'd give her and the prince some privacy. Though she knew Zxander wouldn't really be too happy having to leave her alone, he was always over protective of her, but she didn't feel any threat from the prince or his family and even if there were, she was sure she could handle herself well enough. When Masha and Ellyn stepped up, leading the guards away, she smiled at them, giving a gracious nod before turning her attention back to the two princes who were still before her.

As she tuned back in, Danny was chatting away. She gave him a kind smile as Klaus offered her his arm. "It was really nice meeting you, Danny. I certainly hope we can get more acquainted later." She said to the young prince, hoping he'd get the hint without getting offended. When Klaus mentioned the gardens, her face lit up, looking forward to getting some fresh air. "That sounds wonderful." She said as they started to head toward the gardens. "So, Klaus, tell me a little about you." She said giving a small smile, hoping to find something they may have in common.
