Introduction
Evolution. Some call it the most powerful force there is. Others call it a myth. Well, those others are wrong, but we can try to be polite and not rub it in their face. It's just a slow process is all.
Or at least, it used to be.
But one event changed everything. World War 2. The first Nuclear Bomb exploded. This one major event did more then we know. It activated a tiny bit more of our DNA, but this tiny bit had a major impact. The change didn't happen immediately though, it only sped up Evolution a bit. Effects only started to surface about 40 years later. people began to develope special abilities and powers. It started subtly at first, people who could handle more pain or were more aware about how people felt. But they soon developed into something much bigger.
Things that were incredible happened. Boy somehow survives crash, girl able to understand and help animals, Mysterious flying object spotted. People gained unique genetic abilities. Cellular Regeneration, Psychic Empathy, Pyrokinesis. All seemingly impossible, but explainable by science. If the scientific knowledge has been developed yet.
But, evolution does not always turn out as expected. There can be side affects, some may actually help, and others can be severely damaging. And it could not go so unnoticed forever, either. Someone has taken notice.
And it's not the government you should be most worried about. Because humans are not the only thing on this planet that can evolve. And not everyone will be good.
List of a few possible powers:
Any mentioned above.
Perceptial Modification. (Illusions)
Cellular Mimicry. (Shapeshifting)
Increased Electrolytes. (Electrokinesis)
And other powers as well. Just nothing overpowered. And don't forget side affects (which could be as passive as increased body temperature to something painful like headaches.
Oh, one more thing. We are starting out in a small town jail being held by federal agents due to our powers. And here is a character sheet!

When the guards came in she jumped but Jericho made short work of them. Calling him, capable was an understatement. Child or not. Suddenly, Rolando was back with them. She was glad for that. She didn't want to lose anyone in this group. It was then she heard Hamlet say he'd scout ahead. Now, one hand, she didn't want to smother the poor boy, she'd only met her a few hours ago, if that but on the other hand, she didn't want him alone in this place. She turned her attention to the others when her woman's intuition told her to check on him. He was gone and she missed it. Instantly worried, she took off in the direction she'd only guessed he'd taken. She slowed so not to scare him. He wasn't anywhere. It was then her barefoot hit something solid. She froze. What was that? she thought and kneeled down. Her hand it something that felt like a person's chest. She pulled her hand back in shock. She moved her hand upward until she reached what felt like a face. She gasped. She felt this face before. "Hamlet!" She cried. She pulled the invisible body of the boy into her lap. It was a strange thing. Lifting something she couldn't see but she had other things to worry about now. Like who or what did this to him. She got the ever- familiar feeling of someone watching her. Typically this was followed by an attack from some lecherous man. She touched the cool marble of the floor underneath her and the bonding process began. Marble was heavy on her skin as it coated her body but was the only way to project herself. "Who's there!" she called out but the marble made it difficult.
That's when he saw Hamlet leave to scout ahead, and Reason follow him. "Get their armor and weapons. Then we should go find Ha..." he started, then saw something. A phone. He ran over to it, dialing a number. He needed to know. It then said "Sorry, but this line has been disconnected. Please try again". Jerichowas half annoyed and half relieved. "Okay, let's get the others then get out of this place".
He walked out of the room, and went towards the garage. Then he stopped, and turned around to face the others. "Which way is the garage? I know Hamlet went this way, but I just realized we don't know where it is...."
Hamlet focused on his own memory of what happened moments before Hamlet got knocked down and made it into an illusion. So far, he could send it to someone's mind at a certain distance. And the only people in range was Jericho and Rolando, unfortunatly. And thus, Hamlet sent the message to Reason, Rolando, and Jericho. He hoped it wasn't too late for the others.
As they ambushed the guards, Arach felt a little uneeded. Jericho snapped into action far faster than Arach could react, and Arach didn't like the feeling of being protected. While it was good he didn't have to use a Draconic Aspect, Arach didn't want to not pull his own weight. Arach had to remind himself not to beat himself up. He was among individuals like himself for a change. He didn't need to always protect everyone, even though he wanted to. The others were just as capable as he, some even more so. He wasn't a lone superhuman anymore, he was one of a group, and he needed to let other step up when they knew they could shine brightest. Therefore, when Arach was offered the armor, he smiled a little, thinking back to the first time he used his third favorite draconic aspect, he didn't really... need that armor. So, Arach shrugged when he was offered the armor, finally able to speak again, he gave his reason for declining it: "If push comes to shove, I can take care of myself, armored or not. Give the armor to the others first, I'll take a set if there's any left over. I'd rather not have to rely on it. Plus, for now, I've got this vest. It's only taken a few shots, so I'll be good for a while."
They'd made it to the way point. So, Arach decided to do exactly what he'd already done. He ate some food, and began to search around for anything useful. He'd found some more food, and managed to fit a bit more of it in his bags, taking out the large, bulkier packages, and replacing them with airtight food supplies. He also took out his sleeping bag and jacket and compressed them down as tight as they would go before putting them back in at the bottom of his bag. He drank all of what was in his water skein and refilled it at the sink. He also managed to find two more bottles of water and filled them, putting them in his bag as well. He took out his pair of hunting knives and rummaged around in his bag, making still more space. He hooked them to a belt loop on the left side of his pants using the sheath straps. After he'd "condensed" his own supplies, he continued to fill his bag with as much airtight food supplies and water as he could. He was done after about 3 minutes. Looking in his bag, he figured he'd managed to add another two or three days worth of food supplies to his little cache, he hoped they'd be able to find transportation so he wouldn't have to ration it, but he was prepared to do exactly that. While he was preparing, he heard Hamlet express his wish to scout ahead and he saw him leave. He noticed that Rolando was back with them, and Reason was counting heads, making sure everyone was there and checking up on everyone. After a moment, she seemed to remember something and left in a hurry.
Looking around, he'd realized that, for a while at least, there was nothing else he needed to do, the others could take care of themselves if they needed to, and no one had asked for his help. So, Arach sat down, plunked his bag down next to him, and meditated. It was only for a moment or two, but he felt the sweet relief of that momentary reprieve sink deep into his bones. It was glorious.
Suddenly, Arach heard a noise, looking up, he tried to pinpoint the source of the noise. Then he heard it, Reason screamed. "Who's there?" She cried, and Arach was up and on it faster than he could remember moving in a long time. He wasn't losing anyone here, not now, not ever. He turned in the direction he heard her voice come from, and saw her in the hallway. She was crouched down, and... holding something. He rushed over to them and knelt next to her, "What's wrong?" he asked her.
Hamlet made himself visible, only to Reason and Arach. His head was bleeding, a little dtream of crimson red running down the left side of his face. Thankfully, the telepathic didn't knock Hamlet harder with whatever the mystery assailant was wielding at the time, since Hamlet would've died without anyone knowing.
Hamlet made the illusion of putting a finger on his mouth to signal to be quiet. His body still didn't respond to any of his commands, so he had to resort to tricks of the eye. The telepathic must've shut down any way for my body to move... Luckily, he spared my life... And hopefully it's not permenant. Hamlet mentally sighed once again. However, with each passing moment Hamlet slowly started to feel like he could control a small part of his body. With luck, he would be able to control his body before the telepathic came. IF we were lucky... Hamlet thought.

(Sorry so short)
That should do it for now. If the other prisoners find us, they won't see a thing. Well, maybe they could detect us if the telepathic was with them. Then we would be screwed. Hamlet started to stare at the ceiling and closed his eyes. He had enough action for one day. It's time he slept until someone slapped him or poured a bucket of water on him. Right before he slept however, he added to the message "I'm not dead. I'm going to sleep. Don't make any noise; I've made ourselves invisible. The other prisoners can't see us, but they can hear us."
As they left the room they had hulled up in, Rolando kept quiet. He walked silently beside Jericho and heard what Jericho said, but the images he was receiving in his head were like warnings. The only problem Rolando had was finding the source of these images. He quickly looked around and noticed Reason and noticed that Reason, Hamlet and Arach were all missing. His power over sound could allow him to echolocate them as well as the culprit responsible for Hamletβs condition, but he would need everyone to cooperate.
βCover your ears!β he stated rather forcefully as he opened his mouth and released a piercing shriek, not to do harm but to locate.
The shriek filtered throughout the facility pinpointing the location of each individual the sound waves hit. When the rebounded back to Rolando, he quickly looked in the direction Reason, Arach and Hamlet were. Thrusting his hand forward, an orb formed around thin air, or so it seemed. He had found the culprit, the one responsible for harming Hamlet. The only downside to the sonic shriek he had just released was that now the facility knew, now the others like them knew and they would have to move even more quickly now in order to keep safe. Rolando swung his hand and the orb went careening against the metal wall, colliding with it, the culprit within the orb slamming hard against the metal and collapsing.
βReason, Hamlet, Arach, letβs get out of here NOW!!! Jericho, I know where the garage is, it is that way. If we go now, we may make it, but we have to leave now.β
Hamlet runs to the others, shooting a couple of guards on the way with the pistol he got earlier. "Geez... They just keep coming. Is there an end to this?" Despite all the interferance, Hamlet managed to get to the party he serperated from. "Sorry guys... Telepathic got in the way. If it weren't for me, we would still have the element of surprise..."

Whoever she was, whatever she was wearing was blocking off her EM Waves. He simply asked "Who are you?" "Someone who plans to get a lot of money because of you....".
(sorry, i have a cold, it makes it hard to post properly)
Hamlet turned around to see Reason fall. Suddenly, memories of his mother's murder came into mind, and his reaction to Reason's fall was just the same as when his mother was killed. "Reason!" Hamlet rushed to Reason's side. She was bleeding, a lot. Hamlet had only a little knowledge of first-aid, since he was only taught how to use various weapons. Hamlet turned to the others and said "Someone! Please! Help her!"
There was tears in his eyes, but Hamlet didn't care at all. Reason was the first person to give him that sensation of being mothered and loved again. Now here she is, bleeding and possibly dieing in front of him. It's not fair... It's not fair at all!"Hamlet muttered. Then he said in a normal volume, his words choked up. "Everytime someone tries to show love for me... They end up getting some kind of serious injury! Everytime someone acts like my mother... That person dies! IT'S NOT FAIR!" Hamlet pounded the ground at the last word. There he was, the little orphan boy who lived the life of Hamlet, only to survive and suffer even more because he managed to escape the hands of death.
Even though Reason was his main worry, Hamlet saw through his tears that something was wrong. "W-Where's Jericho?"
Setting

Reason's bare arm touched Hamlet's bare skin and something strange happened. The bonding that usually only worked on solid material happened with his skin. The wounds on her arms closed as skin slid over of them. Reason's eyes shot open and she gasped. Catching her breath, she looked around, she couldn't see because it was dark but heard Hamlet's voice. "H-hamlet?" She asked reaching up. She felt his face. His cheek was moist. She used her thumb to wipe his tears. She could hardly move but she didn't want him sad. "Hey..."She whispered. She managed to pull herself up. She was in so much pain and had gone deathly pale from blood lost but she wasn't concerned with that now. She grabbed his face gently with both hands, wiping his tears. She didn't understand what happened but she was bleeding anymore and Hamlet was holding her. She figured he did something. Whatever it was she grateful.
Arach was concerned, to say the least. Hamlet was lying on the floor in Reason's lap. Hamlet's head was bleeding and Reason had just told him to get some bandages for his head. Just as Arach was about to leave to get the bandages, his ears were ravaged by a blast of sound. He covered his ears and crouched down to the floor, the waves of sound crashing against his whole body. He stood up when it finally finished, slightly dazed by its sudden coming and going. He looked around for the source of the noise, finding nothing that could produce such a hellish sound. Arach was just about to leave for the bandages, when Rolando appeared, shouting, "Reason, Hamlet, Arach, letβs get out of here NOW!!! Jericho, I know where the garage is, it is that way. If we go now, we may make it, but we have to leave now." Not wasting a second, Arach started running. After a moment, he heard Hamlet scream. Whipping his body back around, what Arach saw horrified him. Hamlet and Reason's original positions had reversed. Him holding her, and she bleeding on the floor. Her whole body was covered in wounds, and she was losing blood very quickly. Arach shouted back to Rolando, "Go on ahead, we'll be right with you! Get to the garage now! Take the girls with you and don't lose anyone!" Arach bolted back to Reason's side, and just as he made it to her, something amazing happened. Her skin flowed like water, and all her wounds healed nigh instantaneously. For now it seemed, due to some miracle, she was ok. Thank heaven. Then Hamlet, dropped a bomb. He'd noticed Jericho was missing. The color drained from Arach's face, and he felt a sickening dropping sensation in the pit of his stomach. Something was wrong. He didn't know how he knew, but he didn't care. There was something sinister in the way Jericho was missing just after he'd ran off towards the garage. Further, he'd just sent a little girl to the same place.
Not wasting another second, Arach crouched down and picked up Reason. "I'm sorry for doing this so suddenly Miss. I'm sorry if I've invaded your personal space, but you can slap me later because it's time to go. I'm not sure if you can run on your own just yet, and I'm not taking that chance. I'm not losing anyone today." Standing and looking over at Hamlet, he said, "Let's go. We need to get with Rolando, the girls, and Jericho. Now." Running after Rolando and Jericho carrying Reason like a baby, Arach had to work hard to keep up, but it didn't matter to him. Everyone was getting out of here alive, and he would make damn sure of it. The weight of the life in his arms reminded him of a time not so long ago, when he'd held a life, not very different from this one, in his arms... No, Arach couldn't dwell on such sad memories; Arach had to stay focused on the task at hand. These little ones, these children, these young men and women... They were like family now. They were precious to him. They needed him. More importantly, He needed them.
It didn't take long for them to catch up with Rolando, Luci, and Isabella. As they ran, Arach shared Hamlet's realization with the rest of the group. Their pace quickened. Jericho might be in danger. The second they made it to the garage, the lights died. Jericho was there, but there was a woman with a sword. Her blade pointed at Jericho's back. Arach had no idea what to do. He almost dropped Reason. He just stood there, fearing for his life that the blade wielding woman would take Jericho from this world if Arach gave her one reason to strike.
Hamlet was shocked to see Jericho caught off-guard. This girl is good.... but not better than me. Hamlet thought. He had to think of a plan, fast. Hamlet's pistol was all out of ammo, except for one bullet. And she had just reserved the last one... Hamlet quickly thought out a plan to get this woman before she could strike Jericho. Then Hamlet had got it.
He used the precious three seconds of his telepathy to make himself invisible and silent, only to the assailant, and ran to the wall. Hamlet jumped onto it then quickly jumped off to spin kick the woman. She still had her sword, so Hamlet poinned her sword arm with the arm he had his pistol, which was also ppointed to her face. Hamlet also had his other arm pin her other arm, and his right leg pinning both the woman's legs. It was an awkward hold, especially when it came to the legs. However, anything will do to save Jericho's life. "What the hell are you wait for? Go!"
Jericho looked at them, but then saw Hamlet do what he did. This caused Jericho a good deal of pain, and he found himself unable to move as well. The woman then said "You see? Now, how about you get off me, and we can be civil about this......".
Jericho couldn't even talk. But that's when an explosion sounded a lot closer then normal. He quickly realized what it was. It took him all his force, but he managed to move his head enough to say this: "I think the other prisoners are getting closer! We need to go!". Jericho hated feeling this useless.
Hamlet hated this occurance. He was useless when it came to saving Jericho now, thanks to the woman. "Damn you." Hamlet used every last ounce of willpower to make his body not punch her in the gut, ribs, or the face as he got off the woman.

Hamlet started to back away from Rolando and plugged his ears. He did not want to be deaf after this.
"I can hear them coming. We have to get out of here or we're all dead. Cover your ears!"
Rolando targeted the female as well as Jericho. Opening his mouth, he unleashed a hellish scream that shook the very foundation of the facility. This would surely break the bond, but it would also pinpoint their location to anyone looking for them. This would mean that they would have to move instantly after the bond broke. After Rolando closed his mouth, and the high pitched sound wave ceased, Rolando rushed over to Jericho, his bags in tow.
"Are you alright? Is the bond broken?" He asked helping the young man to his feet.
"Bound and gag her Hamlet, She's coming with us. There might be something she knows."
He then turned to Arach and asked "You mind helping me carry her?"
That's when Jericho noted "Ignore her, she's dangerous. Besides, listen closely. Those arn't prison helicopters. Those are not even American. Which means, the prison is being attacked both inside and out. And if you didn't notice, the elect.....wait, you can't see those. Basically, there is a ton of explosions. I know this from the rapid EM field fluxes. We need to get out of here....."
Then the woman spoke up, causing Jericho to pause in fear as she told them "Tell me, do you know who you have there? Do you even know who you are rescuing and following? He is Jeremy Rico, THE Jeremy Rico, the spoiled son of Henry and Martha Rico, the billionaires. The same ones who's faulty airplane design killed over 200 people....and their son has both a ten million dollar bounty for his capture.......and can be ransomed for much more.......are you sure you want to take that risk? If you help me bring him in, you all could easily get enough money for a plane ticket to some far away, exotic country, where no one will be able to harm you again......and you'll still be able to buy whatever you want...."
Jeremy was crying slightly now, then burst out "It was the pilot! He was drunk, you liar!!!". He ran at her, ready to beat her to a bloody pulp. This would be because of two things, at least. One, he was the one who drew the original design (Though his father added detail and specifics and such), and it was in fact the pilot, and the other was that he was being judged based on wealth. Jericho HATED that. It's why he created the nickname Jericho. So that he at least had some sort of uniqueness, while not making it seem like he was ashamed of his actual family. She knew EXACTLY how to set him off.....it was fairly obvious that everything she said was carefully chosen to antagonize him.
(This would be the part where someone holds him back)

Ignoring the pain, she slipped out of Arach's grip and ran to the boy as he attacked the woman. She grabbed the boy and half dragged him away. She spun him to her and held his jaw so that he was looking at her. "Ignore her. She is baiting you. You can not let it get to you. If you kill her then you'll be no better then she is." Reason said, her voice uncharacteristically strong. She pulled him into a tight hug. "Don't let her get to you." She whispered trying to calm him down by stroking his hair. Her eyes fell on the woman. She felt the bond tingle her skin. She was seconds away from sending spiked marble through her skull but it wasn't worth the effort. She gripped Jericho a little tighter, she wanted him to know she was trying to comfort him. "You're smarter then her, you can think of another way to relatilate instead of mindlessly attacking her. She's thinking and so should you." She said, hoping he understood.
But now hers was back. And Hamlet was right next to her. "Alright, this might sound weird but.....your EM fields are incredibly similar. I've only seen this sort of similar in people who are, could, or will be true lovers......or siblings.....well, and people who were raised in very similar scenarios, but it would be incredibly similar, and would almost definently require having one experience together that's exactly the same.....".
That's when the prison shook, and military boots could be heard echoing from the halls. He then noted "We need to go....". He then looked at the APC. "Well, a stealthy escape might seem impossible now......but the opposite may be possible.....something strong enough so that they can't hurt us....yeah, that could work, we will take the APC....".
He then, in a softer tone, whispered to Reason "Thank you".
(How did none of us notice Isa was abandoned. D:)
