Description

Image
Name: Jane Solara (Last name unknown)
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Race: Human
Status: Tactitian
Location: Unknown

History: At the young age of 5, Jane watched Earth be destroyed from a local space center thousands of miles away from it. Her family had been one of the first to be evacuated from Earth. She was too young to know what was going on, but as soon as the explosions started raining down on her home planet; she knew exactly what was happening.

Jane's father was a very intelligent man, who had been apart of the group that uncoded the first messages received from the Congregate. Her father was granted safety and comfort for his deed in what all thought to be just an unspoken threat, but when ships were spotted heading towards Earth, her father took advantage of the safety and comfort offered.

Not long after the war had started, Jane's parents enlisted her into one of the most tactful school on the base. She began studying the art of war and how to make the decisions to win one. Being only a small child, she was set apart from the older crowd of children until a year or two after her arrival at the base when she stepped up to be lead tactitian in her group of soldiers. From the first word that escaped her mouth, adults around the base took note of her skills in war and her abilities to plan attacks that were overlooked.

By the time she hit her teenage years, she was considered the youngest and most successful tactitian. This was the gateway into her future career as one of the most desired tactitians. Soon after her praise for her skills, her mother caught a deadly disease that had somehow managed to spread across the base. The morning after her mother's death, Jane and her father were transported to the headquarters of Earth.

Only a few hours after settling in, Jane and her father were assigned jobs that best fit their skills. Jane being grouped with elite tactitians, who soon discovered her ability in war to be most needed. Her father was admitted back with his original group of scientist and translators that had been saved in war.

This new life seemed perfect until the Congregate attacked the headquarters. Jane had been sent off to a local space center to recruit young tactitians. Jane didn't find out the news until she was on her way back to HQ. She only asked one thing and that was the report of survivors. There were none.

Nine years after the HQ incident, Jane found herself shut-off from the world around her. To her, she had nothing left to live for. Her parents had died away from land. They couldn't be buried beneath the dirt they had both lived most of their lives on. This struck a new flame within Jane..

She would get Earth back.

Personality: As a young girl, Jane learned from training that emotions were something best keep hidden. She had mastered the control of her emotions until her mother past. This broke Jane, and her father was the only thing left holding her together. At HQ, Jane began to open up and laugh at the people around her. She realized that taking life too serious would make this a very long, miserable one. She had finally found a place she could call home.

With this new found happiness, Jane opened the idea of love. She would catch herself thinking about dating someone on the ship and having the same love her parents had shared with each other. It seemed that fate didn't like the life Jane imagined herself having and intervened.

The loss of Jane's father was all it took to completely shatter her heart. The idea of love faded along with the memory of her parents. She now found herself feeling trapped in a dark, lonely place. She had nowhere to run to, so she found herself traveling from base to base. She had turned into something she vowed to never be; a drifter. She had no desire to connect with any of the beings she had met as she moved through the galaxy. To her, she only need strictly professional relationships to survive. And this was where she was wrong.

She was on her way back to a compartment she had been renting out for the week when she found her mind wondering, so the direction she intended on going got lost along with her concentration. She now found herself at the body release section of the space center. She watched as a family said goodbye to what looked like their father. The commanders in charge of the release shoved out the family because they were on a schedule.

Jane couldn't look away as she watched the young mother clutch her children close to her as their father was thrown out into space to float from now until forever. She knew what the kids were feeling, and she vowed to herself that she would try to save as many families from this lack of a funeral as possible.
She finally opened her eyes and saw the person she could be. She had finally found hope.

Skills: Jane had started training with a sword after the death of her father. She found peace in the way the sword moved through air. She felt herself become graceful with the sword. Unlike most weapons of the time, her sword would not stall or break during a fight that could lead to death. Her reflexes soon showed to be an asset as she became quicker than most of the men in war. She began to study the art of stealth in depth and practiced with her sword daily. She could have easily became a drugged out waste of space in life, but this kept her mind at ease when she practiced.

Through her years of traveling, she came across many skilled fighters that taught her to use her quickness for more than she had expected. Jane's physical appearance became a weapon for her as many soldiers during her training sessions would ease up on her because she seemed so brittle and small, but as soon as they let their guard down for a second she would strike. The second of doubt that had felt towards her ability to fight would be the cause of their death, but one deadly sin one would commit is to question her swordsmanship. Do that and you'll surely be cut.

So begins...

2:47am.

Jane begged sleep to take over her restless body. Her mind had been running through the next few days, and what this could mean for her future. She closed her eyes and tried to picture what the Sunstrider would look like. Being a drifter, she never had the clearance for such a ship. She then thought of the ship that would deliver her back to her home planet; RSS Deliverance. Almost home. She thought to herself as she let her mind take a turn into a dark place. She let her mind trying to salvage the last bits of memory of her father, and she tried to figure out what he would tell her in such a moment of her life. She let her heart ache as no words came to mind. She could barely see his face in her dreams now. It was about to be lost along with the face of her mother's.

3:17am.

Frustrated that she had let her mind wonder to such a place where her parents never existed, she caught herself getting out of bed. Where was she going to go at this time of night? Jane looked out her compartment window at the billions of stars that always sttharred right back at her, through her. The view had grown old after only a year of being in space, but now was different she was looking for the Sunstrider.

Jane knew they wouldn't catch glimpse of the ship for a few more hours, so she pressed her intercom button and requested the delivery of a sleep aid. She waited for an all of five minutes before the Unduli appeared outside door. Jane was used to the Unduli by now and thought no difference in them and those of her own race.

"Hello Jane Solara. Another sleeping aid?" The Unduli man had a tint of blue that Jane had always loved. She caught herself starring at their skin rather than their other features. This man seemed to be waiting for the response from Jane, but one never came.

Snatching the aid from his hand, Jane let her door slide closed. She didn't feel like speaking, so she felt no need to force herself. She usually came off as rude, but she meant no harm by it. As she let the aid slide down her throat, she caught herself in a blank dream.

"Jane Solara, please report to launch in approximately thirty minutes." The message repeated until Jane confirmed her retrieval of it.

She felt no need to rush as she brushed out her silver hair that had a shine that sometimes came off as metalic. She imagined her hair being shaved off to look like the other Navy soldiers she had seen. Surely the wouldn't? Taking a slow, steady breath, she convinced herself they would do no such thing.

"Jane, you are due in ten minutes. Please make your way to launch now." She confirmed it one last time even though she didn't even have her uniform on yet. She quickly slipped into the Navy issued clothes before the ship would leave her. She sprinted down the main hall that led to launch. She tossed her dufflebag, that had every item she owned piled into it, into the luggage shoot of the ship.

She went through the usual procedure of identification, luggage check, and boarding. Jane was told it would only take between thirty minutes to a hour to arrive at the ship. She felt her heart flutter at how close she was to her future.

Wait, she had forgotten to look out her window this morning. She still had no idea what the ship looked like. She searched for a window, but to her luck no window was in sight. The ship delivering her to the Sunstrider had no windows in the back compartment. This made the trip last a lot longer.

Jane heard the order for passengers to make their way to the unloading dock as she could feel the slight jerk as the ship bridged with the Sunstrider. Jane stepped out of the transporter and paused as the name on the craft which she was boarding did not say Sunstrider.

"Excuse me, Commander." Jane said to the oldest gentleman, who had seemed to be greeting the other Naval soldiers that were on the transporter with Jane. "Sir, I was assigned to the Sunstrider. This must be a mistake."

The Commander at first thought Jane was just pulling his leg, but as the concern on her face harden, he looked up her name in his log. "Miss Jane Solara." He repeated her name aloud to make sure this was the same girl standing in front of him. "I'm sorry, Jane. You were ordered to take on a new mission due to your denial in the Earth rescue mission." He gave her a quick pat on her shoulder and continued on his way.

She was denied? This could not be true, and she had to figure out a way to change her predicament.

"Commander!" Jane rushed after the man. "I seek approval of a direct interface with the Captain."

"You mean Captain Julian Russel?"

"Yes, I seek clearance to be taken to the Sunstrider immediately." She caught herself tossing her hair behind her shouldersas she could feel the sweat begin to develop around her face. She thoughtt that her hair behind her head would create the image of her seriousness of the matter.

It seemed like it worked as the commander granted approval to directly approach this Captain Russell so many had been talking about. As she loaded herself back onto the transporter, she no longer cared about what the Sunstrider or RSS Deliverance looked liked. She just wanted to see the face of the man that had denied her application into the program. To her, this was war.

Upon her arrival on the Sunstrider, Jane had been given the run around on the exact location of this Captain Russell. She had asked plenty of people to show her in the direction of his office, but it was like they all could tell she was not in a good mood and worried that them directing her to the Captain would surely end with his death. Was she really coming off this frustrated and angry?

"Hello Jane. It's a pleasure to meet the woman scaring off recruits." The gentleman said to her as he gave her a slight smile. "I'm Louis. Right hand side of Captain Russell."

At the mention of Captain Russell, Jane stepped toward the man. "You are the right hand side of the Captain, huh?" She raised an eyebrow at the man. "So you helped him deny my approval for this mission to Earth, right?" As soon as Jane saw the concern on Louis face, she took a step back. She looked down to the floor letting her hair fall over her shoulders, covering her face. "I am getting on this mission, Louis. That's your name, right? Louis? Tell this Captain of your's that I will be on the RSS Deliverance when it heads towards Earth." She glanced back up to him waiting until she could tell he knew that she meant what she said. She didn't want to make an even worse impression on the Captain, but this was what she had dreamed about. She needed this. "I will be."

"Ma'am, I will see to it you see the Captain immediately. Please take this time to look around the Sunstrider." Louis started back in the direction he had came from. He was not getting away this easy. She didn't come to look around the Sunstrider. Well, at first when she thought she was approved she had looked forward to the ship, but the denial now made her mission to not care about the little things that she would encounter. Her mission was for Earth, not to take a tour of every ship she would come across.

She kept a good distance between the two of them as she watched him into what seemed to look like an office. She waited for an all of five minutes until Louis came back out of the door heading in her direction. She let a smile come across her face as Louis saw her approach him. "Quick visit with the Captain?"

"Jane, I would like to escort you to the waiting room for a meeting with the Captain. He would love to meet you as soon as possible, but he has a few other people to meet with before hand." He was just about to grab her arm when she stormed past him. "Miss, please. The Captain is a busy man."

She turned in her tracks to Louis "Try to touch me again and you'll lose that hand. I didn't come here to wait. I came here to make a difference." She waited for a reply, but did get one. "That's what I thought." She turned to make her way back to the office. This was her last chance to get on this mission.

Jane didn't bother knocking on the Captain's door. Why should she give him the respect he denied her of? By the look on his face, she could tell she was the last person he expected. "I'm Jane Solara. Of course you know my name, you denied me. Before you start trying to explain yourself you need to listen." She caught herself getting worked up so she took a breathe. "I am the most qualified tactitian in this galaxy. I have studied every war plan in the history of wars. I might not be the sex that you're looking for, but do not deny me because I am a woman. I deserve this more than anybody. I had no right for denial, and I ask you why... Why deny me? Why take this opportunity away from me?"

Cap was stunned by the entrance, and the tenacity of it. This woman had every right to be furious, but he was shocked again the now he was being accused of denying her access to the team. His eyes became cold again.

"Miss Solara, I have nothing to do with your denial. Please--" he indicated a chair "--take a seat. I'm sure we can work this out. And I'm sure whoever was responsible for your denial was simply being cautious."

Julian recognized the name: "Solara." Her father...

Jane had little patience for games, but she could tell by the Captain's words that he had nothing to do with her denial. She sat in the chair in front of his desk, bringing all of her hair to one side. She bit her lip hard as she made eye contact with the captain. "I'm sorry, Captain for the misunderstanding."

She had let herself go again. She didn't think about the percussions of her storming into his office. She could have just waited like Louis had told her to do, but this was all she had now. This mission had become everything to do. "I.." She tried to gather be thoughts before she spoke. "I need this, sir. More than anybody has needed anything. I need to be on your ship when it leaves." She licked her lips that had dried and began to crack from the lack of moisture in the air.

"Sir, I apologize for my lack of professionalism. I beg the chance to prove myself on your team. Please, sir."

Cap looked to the door, again wondering when the pilot would show. His eyes returned to Jane and still remained cold as ever.

"You've got backbone, ya know? Your father was a really smart man. I can feel it about you."

He stood up, walking past the side of his desk.

"Sort of," he added, smirking. "I've been waiting for someone with drive and passion to come along. Most of these guys are muck, bottom feeders, jarheads with guns. That's not to say those kinds of people can't be useful at times--"

He extended and hand to the new recruit.

"--but it is to say you'll make a fine addition to the team."

His eyes grew a bit less cold, and a certain warmth left them, a life that didn't normally exert from the captain.

Jane stiffened in her seat. Her father. She felt the ache she always felt in her heart at the mention of either of her parents. She looked as the Captain rounded his desk. She took his hand into her's. She let it rest in the Captain's before letting go. "I'm doing this for him." She swallowed hard before contonuing. "My father.." She looked up at the Captain. "And my mother."

She replayed everything the Captain had said in her head before continuing. "They made me into the person I am now. The anger that slips out at times, the easiness I have when I'm talking about war, but most importantly the drive I have for taking back Earth." She smiled at the Captain.

"This opportunity means more to me than anything. Thank you so much." She stood from her chair to meet eye to eye with the Captain. "I'm ready to prove myself to you and the team."

A task force arrived far more quickly than Douglas had expected. Douglas noticed that they were all armed with stun batons. They should know that everyone had either fled or been knocked out. What if they had come for him? Douglas immediately flashed out his blade from his left wrist before getting into a defensive stance.
"What are the batons for?" He questioned, ready to disarm any of them who tried to attack him.
"Subduing anyone you may have missed." Their leader answered, causing Douglas to sheathe his blade and lower his guard, "Captain Russell wants to speak with you."
"Oh God..." Douglas sighed, certain that he was in even more trouble.
"It's not like that." The soldier reassured Douglas, "He's trying to find recruits for some crazy mission on Earth and he thinks you're a potential candidate. Get in the hovercar and Private Tennant will take you to the recruitment office."
"Before I go," Douglas started, "I want you to make sure the big, bald man with a scar across his forehead is punished. He was the one who started to fight."
With that, Douglas opened the door to the hovercar, climbed in and was driven off.

Douglas hopped out of the car as it pulled up by the recruitment office. As Douglas walked in and sat down on a chair he heard a lady shouting violently from inside the captain's office, something about how she was 'the most qualified tactician in the galaxy' and 'do not deny me because I am a woman'. Douglas presumed that she was some upper class brat from the federation who had everything given to her on a silver platter. Things seemed to calm down after that outburst, since he didn't hear any more screaming from the woman. Douglas lay back in his chair and waited for the interview to finish so he could be brought in to talk with the captain.

Captain Russel felt a shiver run up him when his hand was touched, and then a warmth grow within him. And then she spoke with a certain quality that he hadn't seen before.

"The best are the best, it's undeniable."

It may have seemed out of place, but he knew what he meant. She was among the best, and she deserved to be on the team.

"You live here, Jane?"

His eyes were on the door. Greer had probably arrived by now. He wondered whether the bar warrior had been taken up as well.

"Thank you, Captain Russell. That means a lot. I won't let you down." She gave a slight smile. When it came to the next question, Jane was embarrassed to answer. "I have not had a permanent home since the incident at HQ. I can't handle losing anything else. But I am sure I will be able to find a place easily. I will look for Louis on my way out."

She had remembered Louis mentioning that the Captain had scheduled appointments before her, so she no longer wanted to be a burdon on the Captain. "I will find my way around the ship in no time. I'll let the next person in." She glanced up at the Captain one last time before exiting his office.

As Jane closed the door behind her, she noticed two guys waiting. She gave both of them a smile as she spoke up. "Captain is ready for whoever is next. I'm sorry I kept him."

She hadn't spotted Louis anywhere in the area, so she decided to take a seat a few down from the two guys. She was new to this ship, so she felt best waiting for Louis to show up. She had been very out of line with him, so being able to apologize felt like the thing to do.

Jaron started at the sound of the door opening and nodded his head to the woman who walked out of it. He took note of the Captain's tone when he poked his head into the doorway and jumped into the Republic solute, not sure if his back should be arched the way Tom showed him and instead stood straight as a pin.

"I am Captain!" he nearly shouted, wanting nothing more than to wipe his rather sweaty hands on his pants.

Jaron looked back to the man when the Captain addressed him and worried some more about that tone. He was certain that the bar-champion and himself were destined for the next ship headed for some desert. And to your left are several flowering succulents, one hardly ever sees deaert plants group together like this, truly a marvel. This would be his life blabbering on about cacti and making oasis pit-stops. Jaron sighed, but only on the inside his stance never faltering

Jane sat up in her chair as she caught sight of the Captain again. Addressing the two gentlemen on her left, she made a mental note of the two faces. Greer. That was the only name mention, so she knew it had to be the man who stood immediately. Greer must have been in the military for longer than she because his posture was one of great practice and grace. One does not get this kind of training overnight, and this was something she lacked; training in the formality of the Navy.

Jane soon glanced at the second man, who seemed to be built to kill. She hadn't taken notice of his augmentations until now. She admired the work that must have been put into his arm. She wondered of the advantages this gave him. She knew that this augmentations must have taken months to complete. Looking up at his face, she noticed the second of the two; his eye. She wondered what had happened to him to get in this state, and also how much more of his body was like this. She had barely noticed the eye, so she wondered what else she could be looking over.

She then looked up at his hair, that had a hint of the same shade as her's. She joked in her head that this was the way she'd remember him. Not by his mechanical engineered arm or his eye that was barely noticeable, but his hair. She let out a soft laugh before noticing that she was still present in front of the Captain. She uncrossed her legs and stood, copying the position Greer had taken. If she was going to learn, she might as well start now. She let her smile slip from her face before sitting back down.

She crossed her legs once more, wondering where Louis could be. An apology was a must at this point, but she wondered if it was too late to mend what she had done. Now that she was apart of the team, she no longer needed enemies in her life. Only one; the Jacktar Congregate.

Douglas noticed the lady who had been in the captain's office before Greer leave the office return and sit down, probably looking more satisified now than she was when she went in. He noticed that she seemed to be reviewing his prosthetic body parts and deciding what to make of him. He wondered how many of the built in weapons she'd been able to pick out. All there was to give them away was a slit in his wrist, a slightly looser the normal joint between his hand and forearm and nothing that gave away the gun since it was still hidden in his arm. She probably thought he was some sort of government designed super soldier who existed only to kill. What he wouldn't give to stop people believing he was just a ruthless killing machine. His recent fight hadn't exactly helped put that reputation behind him. He wanted to stand up in front of everyone in the Sunstrider and announce that he had joined to army to find a diplomatic solution, not to force the enemy to their knees. Even if he could, he still knew most people wouldn't believe him. Besides, his arm was extremely useful when diplomacy failed and it was integral to his identity. He knew he could have it removed and have a new arm grown from stem cells, but then he would feel like a different person and would lose many of his physcial capabilities.

His train of thought was broken by a short laugh from the lady who had left the captain's office. Douglas watched as she stood up and drove all emotions from her expression. Douglas was rather confused by what she had just done, but felt it would be better not to ask about it, so he decided not to, he just watched in puzzlement.

Becoming impatient waiting on Louis, Jane decided to make an effort with the man a few seats down from her. She glanced over trying to figure out how she should approach the man. By his appearance, she shouldn't approach him at all, but if she was going to change for the better she would need allies along the way. Once more glancing over his arm, she took a deep breathe before standing.

Letting her hair fall over her shoulders, Jane approached the man keeping her contact directed at his eyes. She made sure not to be too direct with the approach, so she cleared her throat trying to get his attention before speaking. This came out a little too loud, so she could feel her face flush red at the obviousness that this was towards him.

She licked her lips before speaking. "Hello.." She waited for his attention before extending her hand. "I am Jane Solara." She felt her hand beside her tighten as she waited for his return of response. "I am now the new tactitian for the mission to Earth." She sounded too formal with the last comment, so she ended it with a smile to make up for the unnecessary statement.

Douglas was rather amused by Jane's introduction. She had turned crimson, was fidgeting with her hand that wasn't held out to shake and was smiling nervously. Douglas managed to conceal his amusement to the extent where only a faint smile was visible. He stood up and shook Jane's hand heartily with his carbon-fibre arm, hoping she wouldn't be alienated by the inhuman texture of his hand.
"Doulgas Arthurs, best known as 'Penknife' in the navy." Douglas replied, "I'm a potential candidate for the mission, I'm presuming the Captain wants me to act as the muscle."
Despite Douglas' hand having gone limp after he had told her his name Jane was still gripping his hand. He pulled his hand away gently, making sure not to seem rude. He just hoped he hadn't given Jane a reason to go even redder.

As soon as Douglas stood, Jane was shocked by the height difference. She wondered how tall he must be to hover over her like a giant. "It's really nice-" She hesitated as she took in his augmented hand. "-to meet you..." She had drifted off into analyzing the hand that she had grasped in her's not noticing how long it had been until he pulled away.

"I'm sorry. My apologies. I do not mean to stare like a close-minded individual. I promise it was out of interest. The work put into it is so precise and every little detail is placed perfectly. I'm just impressed." She had a small interest for technology as a young girl when she would stay late with her father would would study the machines and weapons of the Unduli and Jecktar.

She took a step back before continuing her thought. She had now returned to her natural tone as her face erased any sign of it being flushed."I hope Captain puts you on the team. We'll need muscle like you to where we're going, but I honestly don't know why you think he'd want you as muscle..." She gave him a smirk. "..you don't have any." She let the sarcastic side of her emerge.

"I am terrible at jokes." She laughed before spotting a man walk into the Captain's office then emerge a short time later. "I wonder what that was about.." She let herself say out loud before directing her attention back to Penknife. "How did you get that arm and eye anyway if you don't mind me asking."

"How did you get that arm and eye anyway if you don't mind me asking?"

Douglas' mind flashed back to the invasion of Earth, when he was running around as a young child, terrified and sobbing uncontrollably. He remembered seing the Congregate reducing Hampstead to rubble. The horrible physical and emotional pain of seeing his parents shot dead and losing his arm and eye flashed back into his mind like a bullet, bringing a tear to his organic eye. Douglas quickly raised his hand to wipe it away lest Jane notice it. He took a deep breath to calm himself before giving Jane an answer.
"I lost my arm and eye when the Congregate invaded Earth. I was attempting to flee Hampstead with my parents but they were both shot by Jecktar soldiers. One shot me in the eye, failing to kill me. Another shot tore my left arm from its socket. They left me for dead. I woke up in a hospital, Unduli bioengineers had replaced my eye and given me a new arm. I had to have my arm replaced multiple times since it didn't grow with me. The arm I have now has built in weapons to make combat easier for me. Does that answer your question?"

Jane had been looking towards the Captain's door when she heard Douglas start talking. She redirected her gaze to him and could see all the memories flash across his face. Before she knew it she had regreted asking the question. She was lucky enough to not witness her parent's deaths. She wondered what would have been different about her if she would have.

She glanced towards her feet then blurted, "do you remember what they look like?" Her throat tightened as she finished the question. She was good at controling her emotions, but this time was different. She felt herself finding the seat closest to her before glancing back towards Douglas. "Nevermind, it's not important."

She had let her parents back into her thoughts and this was not allowed. She found herself searching for a different conversation route which went directly to the part of her mind that conserved all the stupid remarks her mind could come up with. "You miss them?" As soon as she said it, she rolled her eyes. "Of course, you do. Who doesn't miss their parents..." She was now in a situation where she found herself searching for an escape from the stupid conversation when Louis showed up.

"Louis!" Jane stood walking toward him, not glancing back at Douglas. "I am so sorry for how out of hand I was earlier. You did not deserve any of that. My apologies, Louis." She said before glancing back at Douglas. "I would love to be shown a room if you have time. I want to make up for my indecency."

"Jane, you are absolutely fine. Misunderstandings happen more often than you think." At this, Jane felt a relief fly over her. She was just about to walk off with Louis when she paused, remembering Douglas.

"Would you like to get drinks later?" She said before licking her lips that were now completely dry from constantly talking. "I hear we will be having a team meeting soon, but it'd be nice to get together before then."

"How did you get that arm and eye?"
"Do you remember what your parents looked like?"
"Would you like to get drinks later?"

Douglas knew it wasn't her fault, but he almost felt like Jane was trying to make him feel horrible. First she reminded him of the fear, grief and pain he felt during the Congregate's attack, made him think about how different life could have been if he was still with his parents and reminded him that some Admiral could come down on him hard about the barfight and possibly fire him. This evening wasn't exactly going well for Douglas.

"Sounds good, but don't go to the main bar. It's..." Douglas replied then paused, choosing how to word his answer, "currently out of service."
Douglas watched as she left, surprised at how well their first meeting had gone. Most people wouldn't even talk to him due to his prosthetic arm and eye. Those who did usually backed away quickly. Now all Douglas could do was wait for Greer to finish his interview so Douglas could have his.

"Okay, I'll meet you at the bar near the residency compartments. I should have a room by then, so.." She continued walking with Louis, turning to Douglas one last time. "It was nice meeting you!"

Jane and Louis had discussed everything from how Louis had come to the position he was in to how long it would take to walk around the entire ship. She enjoyed Louis' company now that their relationship was on the positive side. She had been shown a room near the bar she planned on meeting Douglas at later. Now all she had to do was unpack and get familiar with the ship until they headed to Earth on the RSS Deliverance.

Changing into more comfortable clothes, she made her way into the hall debating on which way to go. She found herself wondering about the ship with no destination in mind.

Jane had found that she had lost track of time, so when she noticed that it was already past the time she was supposed to meet Douglas, she rushed. She had never been the type to be late for a meeting, but this was such a marvelous ship that time flew by just walking around and looking at every detail. As soon as she came up to the bar that she assumed was the only other bar on the ship, she scanned the room for Douglas.

She soon discovered it wouldn't be hard with the amount of Unduli in this one. In the corner, she saw the tall man she had met earlier waiting. As she approached, she asked the bartender to bring over whatever he thought would loosen her up. She had been on her feet most of the day and she needed something that would help her sleep much better.

"Hey!" She said as she sat down beside Douglas, giving him a faint smile before acknowledging the bartender who had brought a large container of a mysterious drink that smelt delicious. She grabbed two cups from the bar before continuing her conversation with Douglas. "You came! That must mean good news from the Captain." She said instantaneous with pouring both her and Douglas a glass of the substance. She slide over the second glass to him before taking a huge gulp of her own. "Good god that is strong." She said covering her mouth as she now adjusted to the amount of alcohol that had just entered her system.
