“How about we just stick with the daggers I supply to keep it fair.” Robert grabbed a cloth bag out from under his desk and threw it with a thud, to the middle of the classroom. “Now, everyone get a dagger. I have already cleared it up with the headmaster and you have been aloud to carry yours around at all times. I might come out of nowhere with a Jersey Devil at the ready. So keep it with you, but don’t flash it at any of your teachers or fellow, non-mage classmates.”

Bryce hops up and walks to the bag looking down at the daggers. 'I've only ever used my wind blades... This is gonna be such a drag... maybe Zac can give me some pointers during our fight tomorrow. "Well I'll take this one." Bryce hefted the dagger spinning it in his hand. Then goes to sit back in his desk. "So we're going to randomly be attacked by Jersey Devils for the rest of the week? What a drag..." Bryce pulls out some more paper and starts writing notes about class and what he'd learned about the hunting of Jersey Devils. 'I'm glad I'll be with someone who's hunted these before. Lilly seems like she knows what she's doing. Maybe if I get really lucky we'll get partnered together.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Animalistic demons are close, but feel the need to never leave their Masters side.”
'Well that is certainly true I hate being away from Bryce and I always feel better when I'm close to him. I have to get stronger so that I can help Bryce. I don't want him to have to protect me.' Ikari looks over at Pitt and catching her gaze she nods reassuringly trying to cheer her up. She must be as close to Zac as I am to Bryce... I'm glad... some demons here don't seem like they care to much for their keepers.'
Zac
How about we just stick with the daggers I supply to keep it fair.” Robert said, tossing a bag he'd grabbed from under his desk into the middle of the classroom, it landed with a thud. It obviously contained the daggers. "Lame!" Zac said, but he guessed it would be ok. "Alright, I guess this'll make it harder, more of a challenge." He at least was proficient enough with daggers. He walked over to the bag, digging around till he found one that fit his hand well before returning to his seat, twirling the dagger expertly in his hand. He fiddled with it for a while, listening for what else Robert had to say. “Now, everyone get a dagger. I have already cleared it up with the headmaster and you have been aloud to carry yours around at all times. I might come out of nowhere with a Jersey Devil at the ready. So keep it with you, but don’t flash it at any of your teachers or fellow, non-mage classmates.” He warned. Zac spoke up, "Is it ok if I store it in a different shape?" he asked. To illustrate his point, Zac began to spin his dagger once again. The blade was moving so fast, it seemed to slither and weave unnaturally in his hand, finally morphing into a snake with a silent animation spell. The metal snake rocketed out of his hand, morphing into a bird mid-jump. The little metal bird flitted in a circle before diving straight down. Finally the little bird turned into a little ball and landed squarely in his pocket. "My showing off aside, is it ok if I store it as such to practice rapid metal shaping?"
Pitt catches Ikari's gaze, who nodded slowly and "smiled" reassuringly. Pitt sniffled then smiled, wiping the tears from her eyes. "Thank you" She mouthed silently.
I can see that this is a sensitive subject." Ms. Kira said, she seemed to empathize with all the students. "But It’s something that always needs to be talked about. If you aren’t made aware of any of this, you might make a mistake.” Kira smiled and jumped up onto the front desk. “Now, onto a lighter subject! You get a partner for life if you play your cards right. And, like I said yesterday, no matter what, the bond between you and your Keeper is incomprehensible by any normal human. It’s as if you two are the perfect lovers in a perfect story." At that Pitt blushed very red. She'd always loved Zac, but that was way too much to think about. She thought about it again, on accident. This caused Pitt to blush even harder. "But intimacy is usually avoided between demon’s and Keepers because most of us aren’t that humanoid. But those of us that are more humanoid are usually very close with their Keeper’s but more free. Animalistic demons are close, but feel the need to never leave their Masters side.” Pitt thought about it again and blushed some more, sinking into her seat. She hoped no one saw her.
Lilly jumped out of her desk and grabbed a dagger, studying it closely. “So I get to carry a dagger with me? Everywhere and anywhere?” Lilly looked over at Robert. “You better watch out or I might get you instead of some fake Jersey Devil.” Lilly took her seat and stuck the dagger blade into the rim of her skirt, seeing she didn’t have a bag, or pockets. [i]I’ll probably end up skipping the Jersey Devil killing class. I already know, and him surprising me will make it that much better. “Zac,” Lilly stated loudly, “You will be on my hunting team. Anyone else who wants to join better be good or I’ll skin them. Or I could just let the Devil’s do it.” Lilly smiled smugly at Zac, “You better be ready to keep up with me.”
OZ totally understood. He loved his Master unconditionally, but he didn’t feel compelled to stick by her 24/7. But she did feel oddly attached to him, something she has told him millions of times before. That’s why they slept together, or else she couldn’t sleep. They even showered together. But she hadn’t gotten enough exposure to people to know that it was seen as wrong in society. In a way, she was to innocent to know. He was her demon after all, so it was okay. They had been together for a few years, and she saw him as a part of her. He hoped she never found shame in having him as a demon and being so close to her.
Or I could just let the Devils do it.” Lilly smiled smugly at Zac, “You better be ready to keep up with me.” "oh contraire, Miss Lilly" Zac replied matter-of-factly. "perhaps it is you who should be preparing to keep up with me." He taunted. "I don't slow down for anything. Matter of fact, this is getting me all fired up!" To illustrate his point, Zac silently cast a minor spell, causing his irises to flare bright red and flicker like flames for a moment then fade back to his usual brown, he made sure to catch Lilly's eye when he did it.
“You will be on my hunting team. Anyone else who wants to join better be good or I’ll skin them. Or I could just let the Devil’s do it.” Lilly smiled smugly at Zac, “You better be ready to keep up with me.”
'I need to be ready. I have to prove myself if I join her team and kill more devils than her... no that won't be enough. I have to beat Zac tomorrow. And I have to get Robert to fight me after class. I need to start thinking strategy... Zac is an earth mage so obviously strong ground based attacks. If I stay in the air between the sun and him he won't be able to see me. He'd use some sort of sensory spell so I have to crate another distraction. Then attack with a crushing wind from the side pining and knocking the wind out of him. Maybe the diamond blade formation... Definatly not going to resort to the whirlwind thing... Alright that's one problem. What kind of mage is Robert... Oh, yeah Zac mentioned something about ice. He's a teacher so he'll know a lot of tricks... I have to keep moisture away from me so no sweat or condensation. Rapid close quarter strikes would probably be my best bet... I'll just form wind blades around my hands and it'll turn into a hand to sword fight... I'll have to talk to Ikari and see if she has any ideas... I can't wait Lilly will watch my fights and get impressed then I'll be in!
The excitement in Bryce's head completely distracts him from the goings on around him. The thought can almost be seen churning inside of his head. He begins drawing example battle scenarios in his notebook. I should tell Zac I accept his challenge before I get to excited. Scribbling out a quick note, "Yeah, I'll fight you tomorrow. First thing in the morning. Could even tell the other students if you wanted make it more fun. Have something to work for." No way he'll let me get away with that one. Bryce smiles to himself and sends the message to Zac.
“I don’t slow down either. As you know, I already have experience.” Lilly grabbed her dagger and threw it across the room, sticking it in the wall. “Wait, Robert. You said that you would attack us whenever you feel like? You didn’t mean while we were asleep, did you? Because I’m not exactly the nicest person when awoken in the middle of the night to commit fake murder,” Lilly said, leaning forward in her chair. “OZ is the only one who can get me up anyways. So if you come in raging, then I’m not going to respond. And, when we are on the trip, how are you going to tell whether or not we used magic to kill the Jersey Devil’s? I mean Zac could easily make a dagger and kill them, or I could use my shadow magic to make a dagger, or some water mage could slice through them.”
Zac spoke up, "Is it ok if I store it in a different shape?" he asked. To illustrate his point, Zac began to spin his dagger once again. Robert smiled as he tried to concentrate on Zac’s question. “I guess you could do that, Zachary.” But before he could finish, a dagger came flying across the room, barely missing his head.
“Wait, Robert. You said that you would attack us whenever you feel like? You didn’t mean while we were asleep, did you? Because I’m not exactly the nicest person when awoken in the middle of the night to commit fake murder,” Lilly said, leaning forward in her chair. “OZ is the only one who can get me up anyways. “Miss Bedford, you are acting as though you wouldn’t enjoy me popping up in your room in the middle of the night,” he said with a smile. “Besides, I wouldn’t be popping in for a for a midnight-murder session with you. But maybe a midnight session for something else though.” Robert sent her a wink. If she had any idea what he meant, then maybe it would get her to be a little quieter out of embarrassment. “I can tell because I’m a professional. Done with questions, Miss Bedford?”
"How about we just stick with the daggers I supply to keep it fair.” Robert grabbed a cloth bag out from under his desk and threw it with a thud, to the middle of the classroom. “Now, everyone get a dagger. I have already cleared it up with the headmaster and you have been aloud to carry yours around at all times. I might come out of nowhere with a Jersey Devil at the ready. So keep it with you, but don’t flash it at any of your teachers or fellow, non-mage classmates.” Alan waited in line and came to select his dagger. By now, the bag was already half empty. Alan bent down and started randomly picking dagger, looking for the right one. Eventually he found it, it was heavier on the blade than the handle and was a slight bit sharper than most, probably just human error when the were sharpening them, he thought.
Zac spoke up, "Is it OK if I store it in a different shape?" he asked. To illustrate his point, Zac began to spin his dagger once again. The blade was moving so fast, it seemed to slither and weave unnaturally in his hand, finally morphing into a snake with a silent animation spell. The metal snake rocketed out of his hand, morphing into a bird mid-jump. The little metal bird flitted in a circle before diving straight down. Finally the little bird turned into a little ball and landed squarely in his pocket. "My showing off aside, is it OK if I store it as such to practice rapid metal shaping?" It looked like Zac was going to fins one way or another to get practice in with the dagger. Maybe I should try something like that as well, he mused. Even more hope came when Robert allowed Zac to do that. But then Lilly spoke up, much to his dismay.
Lilly jumped out of her desk and grabbed a dagger, studying it closely. “So I get to carry a dagger with me? Everywhere and anywhere?” Lilly looked over at Robert. “You better watch out or I might get you instead of some fake Jersey Devil.” Lilly took her seat and stuck the dagger blade into the rim of her skirt, seeing she didn't have a bag, or pockets. “Zac,” Lilly stated loudly, “You will be on my hunting team. Anyone else who wants to join better be good or I’ll skin them. Or I could just let the Devil’s do it.” Lilly smiled smugly at Zac,“You better be ready to keep up with me.” Hm....Lilly, or Vatalini as she seems to like to be called, would be a bit of a pain to deal with, but a little competition never hurt... He couldn't decide whether or not to speak up. Lilly grabbed her dagger and threw it across the room, sticking it in the wall. Jeez, I can't match up with that, no matter, I stand a better chance going with them in a group. Ugh, I'm going to regret this, aren't I.
Alan cleared his throat, but Lilly spoke up again. “Wait, Robert. You said that you would attack us whenever you feel like? You didn't mean while we were asleep, did you? Because I’m not exactly the nicest person when awoken in the middle of the night to commit fake murder,” Lilly said, leaning forward in her chair. “OZ is the only one who can get me up anyways. I mean Zac could easily make a dagger and kill them, or I could use my shadow magic to make a dagger, or some water mage could slice through them.”.
She posed a good point but Robert had a retort to both the sarcasm and her question, “Miss Bedford, you are acting as though you wouldn't enjoy me popping up in your room in the middle of the night,” he said with a smile. “Besides, I wouldn't be popping in for a for a midnight-murder session with you. But maybe a midnight session for something else though.” Robert sent her a wink. If she had any idea what he meant, then maybe it would get her to be a little quieter out of embarrassment. “I can tell because I’m a professional. Done with questions, Miss Bedford?”. Alan nearly choked on Mr. Beckenfield's comment. He was embarrassed just hearing it. It seemed like Lilly was done talking for now, so Alan spoke up, "Lilly, I request to be in your hunting party." He probably didn't live up to her standards, but he could lie about everything if it got too rough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Laius was still smoldering from the revelation. He felt as though he should kill something in protest, probably a small animal for a quick snack. He looked over to see Ikari consoling Pitt, but kept his distance. He was afraid if he spoke, he would yell.

"I can see that this is a sensitive subject. But It’s something that always needs to be talked about. If you aren't made aware of any of this, you might make a mistake.” Kira smiled and jumped up onto the front desk. “Now, onto a lighter subject! Laius could attest to the second portion at least, he dint feel right when Alan wasn't around. He felt...vulnerable almost. Still, even if he could see his master, he felt reassured, in a way. He choked down his anger for now and continued to listen to Ms. Kira.

Lilly looked at Robert confused. Just what was he saying, she thought. Before she could think any more about it, trying to decipher his words, a voice came from the side. "Lilly, I request to be in your hunting party." She looked at the boy who had said that, remembering him from the roof and introductions … his name was Alan. Maybe he wants in on the competition! Well, I’ll beat them all without a doubt!

“Fine,” she said to Alan. “But you have to prove yourself! No weaklings are allowed in this competition!” Lilly laughed and used reverse magic to retrieve her dagger from the wall, not really wanting to get up. “Battle …,” she said, eyeballing everyone in the room. “Battle him,” pointing her dagger at Bryce. Class was just about over anyways. “You see that Zac! People wanna join in,” she said with a smile. “All the more hope that gets to be crushed.” She made a fist with her free and slammed it down on her desk. “Cause there is no way that I’m losing to anyone!” Even after her earlier defeat, she still seemed to have the will power to say she was unbeatable.

(sorry if this one is short guys. my computer decided to be a dick and erase all my post that i had typed up. so i'm just going to put it in shorter form.)

Robert erased everything he had on the board and looked back at the class. "Alright guys! Tomorrow, same place and time as physical training. Instead we are going to do Jersey training. Those of you who feel like you aren't ready to take on even an immitation Devil will be in a seperate part of the yard with Kira. Class dismissed." Robert plopped back down in his seat as the children waited for their demon's before being able to go to their dorm rooms and relax.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Kira heard Robert from the other room dismiss the children, so before she could get anymore into lesson, she decided to dismiss them as well. "Alright you guys! Be on your toes! Robert is planning on surprise attacking most of your Keeper's with Jersey Devils the rest of this week. None of your Keeper's should get hurt in the process. You all can leave." Kira was among on of the last to leave the room. She padded quickly over to Robert, who seemed rather exausted. "We should go Robert so you aren't to tired tomorrow for training." Robert smiled as his feline companion and pat her on the head.

"I have a few things I have to take care of first," he said, glancing at Bryce, "and I have patrol duty on campus so I'll be a little late coming back. You should head out though and get some rest yourself." Kira hesitantly left, and once out of sight, Robert's smile dropped. He stood slowly, stretching the entire time and looked at Bryce. "I'm ready to get this over with when you are, Bryce."

Bryce's head snapped up at the sound of 'battle'. 'Who's battling who now?' Looking around he sees Lilly's dagger point directly at him. 'Apparently I am... Not a drag. I get to prove myself and Lilly chose my opponent and it's Al... another wind mage... No, air mage...'Looking between Lilly and Al "Sounds like a plan. We'll fight the day after tomorrow. I have other things planned tomorrow." He looks over at Zac. "Right buddy?" He looks to Robert. "Where are we going to fight sir? I can't wait to start."

After reassuring Pitt, Ikari sat there sort of numbed. 'I love Bryce. I can't imagine ever being away from him. I've never thought of him that way... It'd be wrong. It can't happen.

"Alright you guys! Be on your toes! Robert is planning on surprise attacking most of your Keeper's with Jersey Devils the rest of this week. None of your Keeper's should get hurt in the process. You all can leave."

Ikari hurried to Bryce in the other room. "Bryce we have a lot to talk about." "Yeah, sure thing Ikari," Bryce assumes his usual one hand behind the head pose, "but it's gonna have to wait... I kinda picked a fight with the teacher. And, well it's gonna happen now..." "BRYCE I told you not to be stupid!" He laughs a bit. "Come on trust me. I'll be fine. I trust him not to hurt me to bad. I'm more worried about fighting Zac tomorrow really. Then Al the day after that... I'm gonna be tired. Oh, well! Anything to get better. So, Sir shall we?"

"Where are we going to fight sir? I can't wait to start."

"The roof again," Robert replied, walking towards the door. He knew he wasn't going to have a day off until the field trip arrived. That's when he would just send all the kids off into the woods to kill a bunch of hungry beasts.

"BRYCE I told you not to be stupid!" He laughs a bit. "Come on trust me. I'll be fine. I trust him not to hurt me to bad. I'm more worried about fighting Zac tomorrow really. Then Al the day after that... I'm gonna be tired. Oh, well! Anything to get better. So, Sir shall we?"

"We shall," Robert said, motioning to the door. "You've definitely got a full scheduale, now don't you." Robert would rather Kira not know he was fighting another student. He could have sworn she told him not to earlier, but who was he to deny these kids of a learning experiance. "Hope you won't be so tired you don't see and of the surprise attacks coming. Like Miss Bedford pointed out earlier, they could even come while your asleep. I'm not saying stay up 24/7 so you ar prepared, but just be careful." Robert slowly walked up to the roof and held the door open for Bryce. "If this drags on to long, I might have to finish it quick. Like I said earlier, I have patrol duties around campus. I would rather not get on the headmaster's bad side either or he won't allow me to do some of the things our class does."

"I guess you could do that, Zachary." Was Robert's reply to Zac's question. "Awesome," Zac thought, "A handicap will gimme some extra challenge." At that moment, Zac heard Alan speak up. "Lilly, I request to be in your hunting party."

"You see that Zac! People wanna join in,” Lilly said with a smile. “All the more hope that gets to be crushed.” She made a fist with her free and slammed it down on her desk. “Cause there is no way that I’m losing to anyone!” Zac turned to Alan, "Good to have you buddy, the more the merrier." He then whispered, "Don't worry so much about Lilly, she likes to show off even more than I do." He said with a wink. Then, Robert spoke up. "Alright guys! Tomorrow, same place and time as physical training. Instead we are going to do Jersey training. Those of you who feel like you aren't ready to take on even an imitation Devil will be in a separate part of the yard with Kira. Class dismissed."

Then Lilly decided that Bryce and Alan would battle. Zac thought it was a great idea, then he heard Bryce. "Sounds like a plan. We'll fight the day after tomorrow. I have other things planned tomorrow." He looked over at Zac. "Right buddy?" Zac replied with a great big smile and a thumbs up. "Hell yeah! Just don't go blaming Robert for making you tired when I kick your butt tomorrow! In all honesty though, I don't care who wins, it should be great! I can't wait to see how we match up." Bryce smiled, then looked over to Robert. "Where are we going to fight sir? I can't wait to start." he said. Zac smiled. "I'm glad to see him taking some initiative." At that moment, Zac felt a small soft something pelt into his head, unbalancing him slightly. Noticing the other demons leaving the spot in the wall, Zac figured it was Pitt, that and the point of impact made it being anyone else an impossibility. Pulling Pitt out of his hair, Zac started his usual speech. She knew he didn't like when she flew full speed at his head, it was dangerous and embarrassing. However, the second he pulled her out of his hair, he immediately knew something was wrong. Her eyes were red like she'd been crying and she had a look on her face that clearly stated she didn't want to talk about it. Zac didn't say anything. He just held her close to his chest and hugged her. Zac whispered to her, "We'll talk about this later, ok? You don't have to say anything now, alright? I love you Pitt. I'd prefer to just go back to our room and have us be alone together, you know, family time. However, we've got some business to take care of so it's time to leave. Don't worry, we'll have plenty of Zac and Pitt time later, ok?" Pitt only nodded, tears once again starting to fill her eyes. Zac placed her in her customary spot in his hair, patting her head softly before packing up his things. He slung his backpack over his shoulder then turned to the door and started to walk out.

Halfway to the door, Zac looked pointedly over at Lilly, making sure he got her attention. "I'm outta here. See you around." He said casually. He knew she wouldn't forget, however, he still wanted to remind her and do so without drawing unnecessary attention. After that, he turned back around and nonchalantly walked out of the classroom. He walked by Bryce and Robert as they headed up to the roof, waving as he passed. As much as he wanted to watch them, he and Lilly had business to take care of. Zac headed out of school and entered the forest. It wasn't an old forest, you could tell from the smell in the air, however, it wasn't a new forest either. The trees here were tall and strong, there was some undergrowth, but nothing that would impede running and jumping. Right before he entered the wood, Zac took a quick look around, there were no regular humans in sight. So, Zac knelt down and placed his right hand on the earth. Channeling his power, Zac lifted his hand from the ground and stood simultaneously, the dirt shaping and condensing into the steel pommel of a long sword. The transmutation complete, Zac hefted his weapon and continued walking. He hoped no one would trip over the small crater he'd left in the ground. As he walked to the place he had in mind, Zac marked the trees around him with an "X". If Lilly followed the marks, it was a straight shot to the place. After a few short minutes, he crossed the school's boundaries and entered the deeper part of the forest. Finally, he entered a small clearing in the wood. This was were they would fight. In a place full of Shadows and Earth, where Zac could really and truly let loose. Zac plunged the sword into the ground in the middle of the clearing. Zac was so excited. This was gonna be fun. While he waited for Lilly, he climbed a tree and sat, watching and waiting for Lilly.

OZ slumped over to Lilly who jumped up as soon as he got a few feet from her. “Alright OZ! I need to go fix my hair and then we can leave!” OZ looked at his Master with a face that told everyone he was apathetic, but she would know he was confused. Halfway to the door, Zac looked pointedly over at Lilly, making sure he got her attention.

"I'm outta here. See you around." He said casually. Lilly then looked back at her demon and pointed to Zac. Grabbing OZ’s hand, she ran out the door and towards her dorm room. She had thought earlier that putting her hair up wouldn’t distract her during a fight. Once she made it to her dorm room, she rushed in, tripping a few times because it was pitch black in her room and she couldn’t see anything. The bathroom light switched on to reveal a messy haired Lilly.

“Ah, whatever,” she said, running a comb quickly through it before throwing it in a ponytail. Of course some hair fell out of the pulled back state and hung slightly in her face, but she couldn’t do anything about that. Lilly had found it easier to battle in her skirt, so she just left on the one she had, switched into her combat boots and put on a black tank top. “I look like a freakin’ military brat,” she mumbled as she stuck the blade of her new dagger in her boot. “Alright OZ, your either staying or coming, but I’m leaving, so let’s go!” Lilly launched herself down the hallway, leaving the door for OZ to get. She passed a few teachers on the way who yelled that, “Running in the halls is against school rules,” and, “What you’re wearing is against school policy!” But she just replied without slowing down that, “I don’t give a f***!”

“Master,” OZ’s voice came from behind. He had no problem keeping up with her. “If you’re hungry, we can go steal stuff from the café, or some store. You don’t need to go hunting.”

“I’m not going hunting OZ,” Lilly said as she continued forward. She finally made it to a tree line, stopping right before emerging herself in the deep green sea of forest. “OZ, stay in the shadows for the rest of the time. Blend in and stay hidden while I, literally, work my magic. Lilly noticed an odd deformation on the ground, confirming Zac had been there. “Alright,” she mumbled as OZ did what he was told and she entered the trees. X’s started to appear on trees, as if they were marking a path for her. They were fresh, so it had to have been Zac, showing her where to go. “Alright,” she repeated. Lilly dashed through the tree’s, going full speed, and following the X’s. Finally, she came to an opening which she stumbled into. She caught herself before falling on her face and stood up straight. “I guess this is the place.” The sword in the center of the field stood there as if it was waiting. But for what, Lilly thought. Pushing the stupid question beside, Lilly stood in the center of the field and looked around. “I’m here,” she said loudly. She could smell Zac, but she couldn’t pinpoint where he was exactly. All the other scents were getting her mixed up. I swear if I came out here for nothing, I’ll kill him in his sleep, Lilly thought. She needed to clear her head and concentrate at the battle at hand, there was no way she was going to lose twice in one day. So she bent over, took in a deep breath of forest air, and relaxed. “I miss living out here,” she mumbled, scanning the trees around her. She tore the bandages she had on her arm and face from earlier and used an incineration spell to dispose of them. Fire was her favorite magic besides shadow. “Maybe I should incorporate that into my attacks …”

(sorry if I make some quick assumptions about the start of the battle but I want to get my fight starting post off before i go to work and I'm not distracted thinking of it all day XD so I'll just get into the battle.

As Bryce reached the roof he looked around then over at Robert.The sun was still decently high in the air.'Good I can blind him with the sun and Zac isn't here to study my tactics. "Sir, shall we begin right away? I know the standard rules. But, warning most of my attacks have to do with sharpened wind so watch out. Though I won't try to cut you into ribbons that'd be mean." He chuckles and takes his usual stance waiting for a reply.

Robert nods in agreement (again sorry for assumptions I'll adjust when you post). Taking this as the starting point of the battle Bryce jumps into the air taking flight. Fading to the left of Robert he begins to disappear using what appears to be a sloppy invisibility spell. Once invisible he fades back to the right lining himself between the sun and Robert. 'He's a teacher... No holding back' Bryce begins to compress air in his hands bringing in more and more air until he has a sphere of air that is almost 200 times more dense than the air around him. 'Air bomb... hopefully this works.' He lobs the sphere of air towards Robert's feet holding its form until it lands just below him. He releases the holding magic and the bomb expands and he breaks his invisibility spell. The air pressure launches Robert up into the air. 'Perfect! Now he's in my element.

(imma stop there so Robert can counter cuz I know he has some trick XP )

Zac hadn't waited long. It had only been a few minutes at most. He'd already made Pitt go sit in a tree where she couldn't get caught up in the fight but could still watch. He knew there was no way she'd go back to their room, but he knew being alone was the worst thing for her, he'd never seen her so upset before. Taking his mind off of Pitt and onto his fight, Zac heard footsteps approaching the clearing.

Shifting ever so slightly in his spot, Zac craned his ears, trying to hear better. The footsteps became closer and louder until finally Lilly burst through the undergrowth and into the clearing. Zac chuckled softly as Lilly stumbled, catching herself before she fell over. She was wearing new clothes, probably more combat suitable especially the boots, she'd even put up her hair to see better. Everything was pretty standard, except the skirt, that could be... troublesome. “I guess this is the place.” Zac heard her say. “I’m here,” she said loudly. She was looking around, obviously aware that Zac was there, but unsure of his position. She she bent over and took in a deep breath. Standing upright, she tore the bandages she had on her arm and face from earlier and used an incineration spell to dispose of them. "That was a good bit of magic, hopefully it was a sign of good things to come. She's awfully spunky, I hope it holds.." Zac thought to himself, grinning with anticipation.

Zac, deciding she was finally ready, cast ventriloquism spell as softly as he could. He wanted his voice to be coming from everywhere in the small clearing. "Well, looks like you're ready then. I've got to say, you change fast, especially for a girl. Well then, before we begin, I have to ask for reasons of conscious, are you sure you wanna do this? I'm pretty upset about losing once already today, even if it was to Robert. I might not be able to hold myself back, even if you're a girl. I'll try not to kill you, obviously, but I can't guarantee I won't slip up. I'm just a kid after all." he said.

Clambering as quietly as he could to the middle of the clearing, directly over the top of his sword, Zac dropped down from the trees and landed with a soft thud, he pulled his weapon out of the ground, still kneeling. "If you're absolutely sure you wanna do this there's no way I'm backing down, but I can't I can't start this in good conscious if you don't want it. Despite what you think, I don't hate you, I don't want to kill you, hell I don't even think you're a bad person. You're alright, you're just different and people have a hard time respecting that. I did too at first, but I've seen that that's wrong. I can't judge you, I hardly even know you. But, I'd like to, if you want, I'd like us to be friends even. Feh, I'll stop my rambling, if memory serves we aren't here for a tea party, we're here to fight. Let's get this started then, I'm excited!" Zac said. He placed his off hand on the ground. As he stood, five more long swords, identical to the one he'd already summoned, rose into the air at his back in his customary Wingblade formation. The ground around him was dotted by the small craters created by his transmutation. "Ready when you are Vatalini."

As Bryce reached the roof he looked around then over at Robert. The sun was still decently high in the air. "Sir, shall we begin right away? I know the standard rules. But, warning most of my attacks have to do with sharpened wind so watch out. Though I won't try to cut you into ribbons that'd be mean." He chuckles and takes his usual stance waiting for a reply.

"Thank you for sparing me, Bryce." Robert saw the ice from the fountain earlier had melted and, his luck, the fountain was running now. Robert nodded in agreement, taking a stance himself. Taking this as the starting point of the battle, Bryce jumped into the air, taking flight. He appeared to be fading, doing something. Robert took the opportunity to control the water from below, taking up all his concentration. Once he felt something coming, he dropped what water he had moved up there onto himself and around him. The air pressure launched Robert up into the air and dried off his feet, but everything else was soaked. Robert flicked his hand, sending small ice crystals shooting Bryce’s way. He knew a fair amount of wind magic himself, so he used what he knew to propel the ice shards further. A spin kick in the air, with a little bit of magic, created a small but super fast current of air. Once his feet hit the ground, Robert took off shirt quickly and used what water it had soaked up to create even more ice shards. The ice shards hit the floor and the shirt itself froze into something like an ice sword.

Lilly was getting worked up, not being able to see Zac anywhere. But once his voice sounded through the air all around her, she pulled out her dagger and shielded her upper body and head, spreading her feet so she was in a steady position.

“Well you better be ready for more disappointment, cause I’m not walking away a loser twice today either. And just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean you should hold back ever! I’m just as strong, even stronger, than any man! Try and kill me! I dare you!” She ignored the comment about her changing quickly. It wasn’t like she needed to take an hour to get dressed for a battle anyways.

Zac dropped down from the trees and landed with a soft thud, behind Lilly as he pulled his weapon out of the ground, still kneeling. But, I'd like to, if you want, I'd like us to be friends even." Lilly rolled her eyes, trying to hold strong. She didn't give a care about anything he was saying. "Feh, I'll stop my rambling, if memory serves we aren't here for a tea party, we're here to fight. Let's get this started then, I'm excited!" Zac said. Lilly turned quickly, glaring at Zac intently. He placed his off hand on the ground. As he stood, five more long swords, identical to the one he'd already summoned, rose into the air at his back in his customary Wingblade formation. "Ready when you are Vatalini."

“I’ve been ready,” she said, remaining in the same stance as earlier. Lilly’s eyes darted to the side where the shadows stood still. The only one dancing even the slightest was her own. She used her own shadow to cover the dagger blade in what she called Shadow Fire, something of her own creation. The blade now had the ability to pass through anything and send a shock through the object, as long as Lilly was concentrated. She continued to stare at Zac, trying to build up her power and wait for him to make the first move. “I don’t care for your opinion. Trying with me is going to be a pure waste of your time. So shut up and fight me! It's time I show you what I can really do!”

“I’ve been ready,” she said, remaining in her fighting stance. Lilly's shadow morphed around her dagger, covering it in a sort of flickering black flames. Zac didn't like the look of them, best to stay as far away from them as possible. She continued to stare at Zac, obviously waiting for him to move first. “I don’t care for your opinion. Trying with me is going to be a pure waste of your time. So shut up and fight me! It's time I show you what I can really do!” She said. Zac only smiled, an almost evil grin twisting his otherwise happy expression. "The lady asked for it. Let's go!" He exclaimed.

Zac swept his arm aross his body, pointing his sword at Lilly. It was time for a distraction, Zac couldn't utilize his true strength last time, so this time he felt like... overcompensating. Besides, Lilly asked for it, she could take it. Hopefully... As soon as Zac pointed his arm at Lilly, his swords snapped to attention, almost as if they were looking at her down their blades. With a shout, "GO!" the blades came to life, launching themselves at Lilly, even the one in his hand, all six blades were flying at her as fast as he could send them. Hopefully the distraction would give him enough time to work with. The blades were programmed to swing around a little bit as if commanded by an invisible puppeteer. Nothing fancy, just slow enough to dodge, but not so slow as to be completely ignoreable. They would surround her and keep her busy for a moment.

As soon as his blades left his hands, Zac knelt to the ground, using his distraction for all it was worth, clapping his hands together and channeling strong earth magics. Zac sat for just a moment, bringing his full will to bear against the ground beneath him. The magic was so strong, raw arcane energy swirled around Zac, tinting the air around him with yellows and reds. Finally, with another yell of effort, Zac slammed his palms on the ground. As soon as his hands touched the ground, the earth began to shake and rumble. Just before it seemed the Earth would split open from the raw forces swirling around underneath them, massive boulders burst from the ground, changing the very landscape. What was once a forest was now, what appeared to be, a miniature mountain range, the earth rent from the creation of about 12 craggy rocks with the tallest spires reaching about 15 feet tall. Gasping from the effort, Zac steeled himself, he wanted to win, he wanted it more than anything. His loss against Robert burning in his chest, Zac shrugged off the fatigue, standing and returning his blades to their position, pulling them from their dance with Lilly. With the arena built to his liking, it was time to go on a more stable and aggressive offensive. Zac stood for a moment, catching his breath. When he was ready, he shouted with all his might, "Here I come Lilly, ready or not!"

(OOC: sorry if this is a bit too much. Zac doesn't really have any more big spells left. He's still tired from training and fighting with Robert so I won't have him do what I really wanted to which was have the boulders erupt and have him control the magma like a giant sword of doom, but I will be using the rocks to move faster and swing harder. Get pumped, this'll be fun. If it feels like I'm powerplaying or being unfair do let me know. I don't wanna be that guy who fights a bunch of people at 100% like it's no big thing. Also, I did kind of "disable" Lilly for a bit so if that seems cheap I'll change it.)

Zac only smiled, an almost evil grin twisting his otherwise happy expression. "The lady asked for it. Let's go!" He exclaimed.

Zac swept his arm across his body, pointing his sword at Lilly. As soon as Zac pointed his arm at Lilly, his swords snapped to attention, almost as if they were looking at her down their blades. With a shout, "GO!" the blades came to life, launching themselves at Lilly, even the one in his hand, all six blades were flying at her as fast as he could send them. Lilly stood her ground, taking that he said he would try not to kill her to heart. If he meant that much, then the swords wouldn't impale her. But once one grazed her arm, she went into fight mode and dodged, blocked and guarded herself from the swords. They were like a bunch of bees swarming around her, and with her blade in Shadow Fire, all she could block the other blades with was her arms. Then the earth began to shake and rumble. Lilly stared in awe and terror at the earth now surrounding her. There were shadows all over, but she almost froze for a second, but why? Zac stood for a moment, catching his breath. When he was ready, he shouted with all his might, "Here I come Lilly, ready or not!"

“Come at me,” Lilly yelled at him, preparing to charge. Come on, come on, she thought repeatedly. Finally, some of the shadows around her complied with her silent plea. They climbed in the air, creating a thin dome around their designated battle grounds, enough to block out most of the light, but leave enough to see what was in front of you. And with her own battle yell, Lilly charged at Zac, he Shadow Fire dagger at the ready. The shadow dome was more on the shadows then her, so it didn’t take much out of her other than asking them to do it. Lilly was about arms length from Zac when she lashed out with her blade, only hoping the Shadow Fire made contact.

Come at me,” Lilly yelled at him. Then, suddenly, some of the shadows around them shuddered for a moment, then they rocketed into the air, creating a dome around them. Zac quickly cast a spell that formed a pair of goggles around his eyes. They only allowed him to perceive the optimum amount of light. In darkness, he could see as if it were day. In too bright of light it shadowed his eyes, protecting them from the harmful rays. With her own battle yell, Lilly charged at Zac, her dagger at the ready dressed in that unearthly shadowy flame.

It seemed she was done waiting for him to move first. "Yeah, that's more like it!" Zac shouted. Lilly was about arms length from Zac when she lashed out with her blade. Zac stepped backwards, attempting to to parry her blow, however, he felt no weight from the strike, her blade was actually passing through his sword. The blade nicked him ever so slightly, but Zac's adrenaline was pumping, he shrugged off the fatigue, even as he felt his energy drop. Thanks to that, and his fight with Rob, there was no way he could pull off a big finisher, and he wasn't going to resort to summoning the Boneyard just for Lilly. There were no more big spells in Zac's arsenal, at least not for the rest of the day. He'd have to win with raw finesse alone. Jumping back and using the earth underneath him to propel him up, Zac jumped on top of the highest of the spires.

"Well, that was cool. I wasn't expecting your blade to pass through mine. A very neat trick. However, if you were attacking me with a corporeal blade, yours would have been blocked and sent skittering across the ground. Your form is non-existent and a non-corporeal blade can't block my attacks. Further, you let anger fuel your movements. I don't even care if I win or lose, I'm using this as an opportunity to pound some fundamentals into your thick head. Instead of running at me blindly, stop and think for a moment. Is that energy draining blade your only trick? Any other layers to your plan? If not, I'm actually disappointed. The best mages have multiple schemes and tricks forming layers upon layers of deception in their plans. I can tell you're like me, you want to use a single massive attack and overwhelm your opponent with raw power, however, even I need to create distractions to give me enough time to build up my power and to help it connect. Now, from the top!" Zac said with gusto.

At that moment, Zac sent his blades out, each hitting a boulder and sinking into them, leaving the pommel, hilt, and three inches of blade sticking out of the rocks. Jumping past Lilly and onto the next boulder, Zac used his swords and the rocks themselves to push off of and jump onto the next perch. Again and again Zac jumped, almost bestially he pounced from perch to perch, gaining massive speed. Grabbing a sword as he jumped towards Lilly, Zac rocketed through the air flatting his blade mid-flight, intent knocking her out with his newly dulled weapon.

Bryce surrounded himself in a small but intense whirlwind knocking the incoming ice shards away from himself. 'Hoped he'd be in the air longer... Going to need to keep this whirlwind going to avoid the ice shards.' Bryce raised his arms slightly focusing. 'Diamond Blade Formation.' Blades of air began to appear around Bryce. 16 blades appeared and split into groups of 4 the corners joining creating 4 diamonds made of sharpened air. He dispatches the four invisible blade patterns to the four directions around Robert. He then sends them flying inward. He then forms a platform of thickened air and positions it above Robert to stop him from easily dodging the blades.

Ikari stands near the door watching the battle. 'I've never seen Bryce this focused. He looks so determined. He even looks almost happy. She smiles and looks at him curling into a ball. 'He's perfect and I'll never leave him I'm going to get stronger so I can help him.'

Lilly ran to the side as Zac jumped back, promptly landing on the highest spire. Now, from the top!" Zac said with gusto.

With that little speech, Zac sent his swords into the boulders and started doing something Lilly couldn’t really understand. Don’t get distracted, don’t get distracted, Lilly told herself over and over. You may be a little cut up, your clothes might be a little torn up, and your hair might be in your face, but you can’t let any of that or his nonsense get to you.Zac was going pretty fast as he launched himself at her. Don’t stand there but don’t run away, her mind yelled. Lilly just leapt to the side and with most of her concentration, sent her Shadow Fire off the dagger and speeding towards Zac. She landed on her butt from trying to move out of the way to quickly, but still went on fighting. “I’m not going to let you get in my head! This isn’t over until I say it’s over and I’m not going down that easy! You may as well give up now!” But even Lilly couldn’t feel her words. She was a first year that knew a tiny bit of magic that worked perfectly on humans, but now seemed useless against other mages. Lilly got up, turned and ran behind one of the giant boulders. She was panting for some strange reason … and her dagger, no, her hands were shaking. “Stop spouting nonsense you stupid … you …,” she shouted from behind the boulder, getting tongue tied as she tried to think of something to call him. There were shadows all around her, but she couldn’t think of anything to use them for. Maybe Shockwave will do something … Lilly peered around the boulder while summoning some of the shadows from the ground. They formed tentacles on her back which would lash out at anything she willed them to and send a hopefully nasty shock through them. Shockwave, Shadow Fire and Puppet Master … probably the best things she knew, and they weren’t even truly that effective … “Dammit...,” she huffed, feeling the energy drain from her own body just to make the Shockwave more effective.

Robert created an insanely fast whirlwind around him, making it impossible for anything to get through. It was hard for him, but it was good enough to deflected Bryce's blades and burst outwards, sending the water and dust on the roof flying in all directions. He dashed towards Bryce with his ice sword in hand and slashed at the boy, knowing he didn't land a blow. He was trying to catch him off guard, something. Wait ... I know just the trick, Robert thought. "Heaven's Light," he whispered, a blinding flash of light exploding. It was sure to blind both of them, which were his intentions. After recovering quickly, Robert threw several blasts of air pressure at Bryce, tossing more ice at the same time. "You know Bryce, I'm about to become and E Rank Mage. Why exactly did you bother challenging me when you knew you were going to lose." I need a vacation ... go to the council and get a good ass-kickin' and I'll feel better for going all out on someone. He did a punching motion, which sent fire spewing out of the tips of his fist, straight at Bryce.

Lilly leapt to the side dodging Zac and sending her Shadow Fire off the dagger and speeding towards Zac. Zac rocketed past Lilly missing her with his off hand, not attempting to hit her with the blunted sword in his hand. At that speed it could have killed her. Still, Zac was impressed, he figured he was going way to fast to track and he would have had to cast a sleep spell on the fly. "Say... a sleep spell..." Zac thought, "that's not bad!" Zac picked up speed, it was time to turn it up a notch and end this.

As he pushed himself off the next rock, he noticed the shadowy flame she'd launched whiz right through his left shoulder. He felt the fatigue wrack his entire body. "Not now, I'm so close." He thought to himself, pushing off the fatigue once more, growing very weary. Zac blasted his way around the rock field picking up speed despite how heavy his limbs felt. Finally, Zac caught a glimpse of Lilly. She'd landed on her butt from trying to move out of the way to quickly, but still went on fighting. "There ya go, let's see some more of that determination of yours!" Zac thought. “I’m not going to let you get in my head! This isn’t over until I say it’s over and I’m not going down that easy! You may as well give up now!” Lilly said.

Zac worked his way back around the rock field, picking up speed again, he saw Lilly get up, turn, and run behind one of the giant boulders. Zac maneuvered his way to the side of her hiding spot, blasting himself past her, letting his blunt sword smash through her cover. It shattered and sent Lilly flying forward onto her knees her tentacles. As he flew past her, Zac noticed she'd summoned the tentacles like during her fight with Luke. Zac pushed off the next rock he hit, flinging himself high in the air. Yelling loudly, Zac dropped from the sky on top of Lilly who'd turned over just in time to guard her body with her hand and send the black tentacles through his body. Zac felt the breath rush out of his lungs. The tentacles felt cold and deadening. With his last effort, Zac landed, swinging the sword right past Lilly, cratering the ground next to her with the force of his downward blow. Lilly sat there in shock. She gasped and the tentacles on her back lashed out at him once more, Zac dodged the tentacles, getting in close and kneeling down. He touched her forehead with his pointer finger, casting a sleep spell and knocking her out instantly with the last little bits of his energy. At that exact moment, Lilly's shadows faded, and the sky brightened up. Zac's magic goggles fading, as it was day outside the dome, the light was perfectly bright, not too dark and not too luminous.

After that, Zac stepped back a few feet, propped himself up against a boulder and sat. He sighed heavily, she'd done very well. Zac could have killed her quickly, but for her to force him to work that hard to knock her out was a statement to be made about herself. Zac was overall quite pleased. Her form was lacking, but she was a wonderful opponent. To be fair, Zac had already tired himself out on Robert, but she had still done spectacularly for a first year. The sleeping spell he'd put on her wasn't very well supplied with energy. She'd be up again in ten minutes max, giving Zac enough time to repair the damage to the battle field and recover his energy. After eight minutes of sitting, Zac got up, finally feeling up to the task. Once more, Zac clapped his hands together and concentrated for a moment. Bringing things down was always a lot easier that forcing them up. With a good effort all the rocks, except one, and all of Zac's swords had returned to the earth, smoothing out the landscape. Zac carried Lilly over to the last Rock standing and sat her upright against it, returning her dagger to her hands. Finally, Zac sat across from her and called Pitt over to him, waiting for Lilly to wake up.

"You did well Zac," Pitt whispered. She was obviously not in the mood for talking and just sat in Zac's lap, sitting in the crook of his wrist on the hand he'd left in his lap. "Thanks Pitt. I love you. Feel better soon, ok? It's no fun when you aren't my crazy Pitt." Zac said. He bent down and kissed Pitt on the top of her head, patting her softly with his other hand. She smiled at him. Remembering something, Zac called out to Oz. "Hey, Oz, we're all done here and Lilly will be waking up soon. Don't worry, I didn't kill her, she's just sleeping. However, I think it'd be best if you were present when she wakes up, I have a feeling she won't want to talk to me right away. Still, you should be proud of her. She did very well."

(OOC: Note, I did do this with Nasia's permission. @Miss Nasia, if you'd like me to change how this happened, I will gladly do so, I figured this was as fair as I could possibly make it while still keeping our agreement.)
