Personality;
♦ Loyal ♦ Honest ♦ Reserved ♦ Blunt ♦ Sarcastic ♦

If one really knows Chad, they can tell you where his loyalty lies within their friendship and most would probably tell you that Chad is the most loyal person that they have ever met. Chad is very loyal to those close to him and it can be shown as being overprotective, at times, He doesn't let no one or anyone bother him or his friends and if they does, it might not end well for them. Along with being loyal to his friends, he is also honest with them and hates it when he has to be brutally honest. He knows that he has hurt some of their feelings before but has given them their space before walking up to them and apologizing, trying to smooth things over with them. If they accept his apology, that's great. If not, they will in due time since it has happened in many cases before.

Chad is sometimes quite reserved and to himself especially whenever his emotions get to him. When he is in one of his moods, he can come off as being very cold and distant to people, even to his closest friends. He hates that about himself because he doesn't want to make anyone upset or feel sorry for him but he is hardly ever in one of his moods. To put Chad in one of his moods, you'd have to talk pretty about something that happened in his life, talk down to him or just embarrass him in front of people he know.

Being around others has made Chad feel more like himself, if that makes any sense. Chad can be a bit blunt on some subjects and he doesn't really care if he hurts anyone's feelings unless you're one of his closest friends. He has been a little bit too blunt in some cases and has even lost friends do to that occurrence. He has also picked up on some sarcasm skills and uses his skills on that aspect daily. He has became a very sarcastic individual but knows how to dial it down whenever the time is appropriate for it to be. Chad is still waiting for someone to take his crown from him as he considers himself to be the Sarcastic Master and has not been defeated by anyone else's level of sarcasm yet.

Overall, Chad basically loves meeting new people and making new friends. If they're loyal to him then he'll return the act of kindness. If one was to betray Chad's trust, he'll immediately act like he doesn't know them and distant himself far away from them.

ImageImage
Ability;
Atmokinesis
Chad has the ability to create and control all forms of precipitation when it comes to the weather patterns. He cannot create tornadoes or hurricanes but he can create small and severe thunderstorms. He can also create and control fog, sleet and hail but nothing more than that. His ability is also linked to his emotions though he has that part under control.

Chad grew up in a very middle working class family and he was the only sibling for about five years. His mother, Teresa Hughes and father, Phillip Hughes talked to him about having another child in the family and Chad simply responded that no one else was needed since the three of them were happy with one another. But his parents of course had another child anyway, a girl this time. Chad was upset and he let it show. His parents went behind his back and had another child anyway and he was absolutely devastated. His parents often explained to him that it wasn't really his place to tell them yes or no on the matter but then again, he was five years of age.

By the time he was eight years of age, he felt a little bit different and know that he was experiencing weird headaches from time to time. He exhibited his powers when him and his family went to the local playground for a family outing and some kids were picking on him because of his light skin tone. They called him an excessive amount of names and Chad grew tired of the name calling but did nothing cry. After a few minutes of him crying, a light shower came through the park and when his mother wiped away Chad's tears, the rain stopped instantly. It was a little weird, yes but the family never spoke of it again.

Over the course of the years, Chad began finding himself at a very young age and learning more about the world evolving around him. At the age of fifteen, he realized his true potential of his ability and trained himself on how to control it. Of course, it worked, somewhat but he needed further teachings. He didn't want to go out there and ask just anyone so he did some research online and honed his ability. At the age of seventeen while wondering through the streets, he bumped into a female that goes by the name of Winter. At first, he honestly laughed at her name but knew that she was serious and immediately stopped laughing. Winter knew somehow that he was somewhat like her but had a different and unique ability, which he displayed for her and vice versa. Chad thought her ability was amazing and she thought the same about his. Ultimately they wanted to change abilities just for a day and even laughed at the thought.

As his friendship grew with Winter, he came over to her house one night and sneaked in through her window. Chad wanted to get away from the world, honestly and hoped that Winter felt the same. They wanted something different in their lives and they both knew exactly what to do. They searched high and low, looking for a place of sanctuary and safety for other people just like them. They found an old, abandon house in the woods and fixed the place up a little bit. Chad was impressed with the idea that Winter and himself came up with. As they finished decorating, they celebrated briefly. Chad slowly started developing feelings for Winter and eventually told her. They had a brief fling and ended it because things were getting a little weird. But he still has feelings for her though trying his best not to show them.

Him and Winter spent of the time searching for people like them by using Winter's Mind Linking ability. They've found some and welcomed them with open arms, of course. Some gave them problems and they were ousted out of the house by others. One person Chad was glad to see go was a guy named Lucien. Lucien broke his trust by going after Winter behind his back and Chad hated him ever since that moment.

But a year has now passed and he is very happy with the participants of the house that he and Winter had recruited. It wasn't an easy feat but him and Winter came out to be victors and conquered through all obstacles. With all of their different and unique personalities swirling around in the house, who knows what kind of drama will ensue. Chad hopes that no one has any drama but then again, knows that it is impossible considering the recent events that had went down before establishing a nice and safe environment for them.

So begins...

Winter had no bloody idea how she ended up like this.

Actually, that’s a lie. She knew exactly how she ended up like this, but couldn’t believe herself for actually ending up there. Granted, she’s probably not the only person in the world to get her foot stuck between some rocks, but she still wasn’t happy about it. When she first got to the tiny summer tourist town of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, she had found one of the more private beaches, opposed to the many over crowded ones. She usually found herself going there in the mornings, especially on days she woke up way too early. Today was one of those days, having had fallen asleep too late the night before, and her restless sleeping forcing her awake at around four o'clock this morning. She was pretty exhausted, but there was nothing she could do about it. So, she got dressed and left the house, coffee thermos in hand, walking down the ten minute trail into town and to her favorite spot, where she stayed for hours just listening to her music and sketching wildly.

Right about now, however, it seemed like that spot also really liked her since the rock slate that faced the sea trapped her feet between a deep groove on the surface when she tried to get up and leave.

Winter had her hands latched above her ankle, yanking in attempt to get her foot out, but after about fifteen minutes of grunting and groaning, she realized it really just wasn't working. It was about eleven in the afternoon, so there was no doubt someone from inside the house would be up to answer her pleading texts, but she wouldn't do that. She'd gotten herself in this mess, and if she called someone down it would just waste their own time and efforts. It was also a little embarrassing having her foot caught, but that was besides the point. So here she stayed, tugging and glancing around her making sure no passerbys walked by to witness this peculiar spectacle. She had been alone practically the whole time she'd been down there, and she figured she'd continue to luck out before she could release her foot, but sadly that didn't seem to be the case. An elderly man came walking along the cement path behind her, his small poodle in tow and Winter snapped up from where she was struggling, giving a small cough as to stifle the surprise that arose in her throat. The man just simply glanced at her, and she gave a small flick of her wrist in greeting as if to say, 'yep, everything's fine here, go about your walk.' He just gave her a curt nod and continued on his way. She made sure to watch him until he went out of sight before continuing the great foot release.

Another five minutes passed, and Winter had to accept that she just needed another tactic.

"I don't think I can get a jack hammer to free me," she mumbled absentmindedly to herself, trying to think of any other way out. "What if..." She continued on, before she bent down again, shifting her weigh as to make sure she didn't twist her foot and hurt it. Untying the laces from her shoes, she opened them wide enough that her foot would slip out as easily as it could. After a little more struggle, her foot popped out as quickly as it had gotten stuck in the first place, sending Winter faltering off balance. She just caught herself fast enough so she didn't smack her head on the hard surface. She withheld a small victory laugh, also surprising the bitterness that she stupidly should have thought to do that sooner, before kneeling down to attempt to pry her shoe out. Unfortunately, it was a very stiffly shaped shoe with no leeway for bending and so it stayed stuck. She really liked those shoes.

She debated staying there for another half an hour to attempt many other ways to free the left shoe, but she decided against it-- Not because she was giving up, no, she would never do that regularly, it was simply just because there was a new resident coming to the house and she wanted to be there when he showed up. She might actually be late already and that was pretty bad as it is. She really didn't know the exact time he was coming, but it was around this hour he would. She just hoped he didn't get lost on the trail. When she went to find Aiden before, she had given him a map to find it, but that can really only help so much. But she had a plan for everything. Before she left the house this morning she'd left a note for Danny simply asking him to keep a look out for him around the premises, to hop around a bit if he hadn't shown up around the time he was supposed to.

The whole household knew there was someone new coming, so it wasn't a complete shock to everyone. At this point, most were pretty used to the routine. Even if she wasn't there when Aiden had gotten there, she was pretty sure Chad was. Unless he slipped out some time during the day as well. In which case, she should really hurry and get back home.

Winter gathered her sketchbook and pencils and shoved them hastily in her bag, and giving one last longing glance to the black oxford stuck between the grey cracks, took off in a small sprint back to her home. Gravel from the roads stuck the bottom of her bare foot, but she tried to ignore it. Besides, it wasn't even close to the worst pain she'd ever experienced. It was more of an annoyance then anything.

Arriving at the edge of a familiar forest, she easily found the small dirt track and walked along it, making sure to glance around the surroundings a bit in chance of running into Aiden. However, once the short ten minute walk was up, she not once saw the semi-familiar boy. Rushing up the steps up to the front door, she cracked it open and peered in only slightly, before fully stepping in and closing the dark oak door behind her. Quickly scurrying into the kitchen, she dumped her empty thermos in the sink and leaned against the counter, defeatedly glancing down at her single bare foot.

The sun was high, and the skies clear; save for the occasional strip of white that ran across the canvas that made up this beautiful morning. It would be nearing lunchtime soon, and the inhabitants of the nearby home that was safely tucked away within the woods of Boothbay Harbor were all likely to be awaking within the hour, had they not already. While one of them was busy struggling to pull their foot out from between a rather literal rock and a hard place, the young man she was hoping to see arrive shortly was in fact on his way. And just as she had feared... he was indeed quite lost.

Aiden Connors was walking along an empty road, holding a map and trying to find his way to a place some girl named 'Winter' had once referred to as a "safe haven for people like us." He smiled out of amusement upon recalling her words from the memory of when he had met her and her friend Chad a fortnight ago, in Boston. At first, he was rather standoffish towards the two of them, but for good reason. After all, who wouldn't be cautious of someone who had appeared seemingly from out of nowhere, peered into your mind with their thoughts and attempted to ease the understanding that you are in no way the only person on Earth who was "different?" Certainly not Aiden... Sharing tales of a place that he would find himself well at home, among people just like him, and ensuring that it was safe harbor; that was the icing on the cake for this incredibly bizarre encounter. But the girl had promised him something he had always desired: a home where none of the other inhabitants would ever look at him as though he were some kind of freak... That said, Aiden still wasn't entirely sure he believed them. He grew up with the notion that, if something sounded too good to be true, then it usually was. Nevertheless, Winter and Chad had managed to grab hold of his interest enough for him to at least agree to consider their offer, and left him that night in Boston with a bit of cash to help him on his way, and a map with written instructions and their phone numbers in the corner. They had hoped they would then see him in Boothbay Harbor within a couple weeks' time, but had he decided instead to use that money to journey elsewhere, they were content with the knowledge that they were able to help him in some small way.

And so those two weeks had gone by in no time at all, and Aiden was somewhat excited to see the place. He wasn't entirely sure he would stay, on account of his troublesome ability still being incredibly dangerous to those around him, but the thought of finally being able to connect with another human being at the same level made him very happy. The smile on his face, however, had long-since left him, and was replaced by a confused frown as he was staring at the map in his hands. He stopped in his tracks alongside the road as a car passed by; the first in a while. Examining the map Winter had given him, he tried to make sense of the notes she scrawled alongside some arrows and other markings. Aiden thought her handwriting was beautiful, but he just couldn't read a word of it. Scowling, he looked up from the map as another vehicle drove on by, his eyes partially trailing after it absentmindedly as the car's motion forced the air current to blow the map around where his hands weren't holding it in place. He looked around the area, only seeing trees, bushes and the road that was stretched out before him. As far as he could tell, the markings seemed to point at right around where he was standing. He could make out the water tower about a mile or two away, and thus used it as a landmark to deduce that he was in fact in the right spot, according to what he could see on the map and decipher of Winter's fancy writing...

"... Hello?" Aiden asked the air, wondering if perhaps someone would answer. Feeling stupid, he shook his head and frowned uncomfortably as he shifted his gaze back down to the map. "I don't get it..." Mumbling to himself, Aiden spent the next few minutes weighing his options. Judging by the fact that there was no house anywhere in sight, he figured her notes were likely trying to convey that the house was somewhere within the woods. And now he was pondering whether he should try to find a local that could help point him in the right direction or just head off into the woods blindly. Either choice was fairly unappealing in its own way, as it were. He would likely need to head into town to find someone, since the only thing nearby was a water tower and a bunch of trees, and a trip back into town would cost him an hour at least. As he was already cutting it close to being late for the appointed time he gave Winter from a payphone the other day, and he was rather against losing any more time, the choice to go into the woods seemed best. That said, he didn't know the area very well, and having a search party sent out after you because you couldn't read simple instructions was incredibly embarrassing and a horrible first impression to make as a potentially new resident...

Aiden was lost on what to do, and so for the moment, he chose to sit down on the curb of the sidewalk and hope that either Winter or Chad, or possibly one of their friends, would happen across him before long. It was at times like this that Aiden wished he had invested in a damn cellphone...

It was early in the morning when Chad woke up and he was seemingly the only early riser in the house. He stirred very quietly, going down the stairs and opened the fridge, grabbing himself a bottle of orange juice before going back upstairs and sitting on the edge of his bed now. His eyes peered towards the outside of his window as he saw the shed that him and Winter stored some boxes along with furniture. It's been awhile since Chad had been out there and knew that it probably needed some attention. He placed on nothing more than a plain blue t-shirt, along with a pair of gray sweatpants and tennis shoes.

While he tried not to wake anyone else up in the house, he walked on the tip of his toes and went out back of the house. Chad reached up and turned the knob, opening the door and looking at the slight mess that had been revealed behind door number one. With a slight sigh, he stepped right into the shed and instead of rearranging things around, of course he went through some of the boxes. His eyes caught a slight glance of Winter's paintings as he looked behind him to make sure she wasn't approaching because the last time he touched one of her paintings, it didn't end well for him.

Chad reached down and picked one of them up, studying the technique displayed in all of her paintings. She was an excellent artist and damn sure didn't need no one to tell her that. After reviewing a few more paintings, he noticed an untouched box and arched a brow as he placed Winter's painting back down gently and walked over to the box, opening it. It was a box filled with Lucien's belongings. Honestly after everything that had went down, Chad missed Lucien a little bit because they was once friends. But after everything else that had happened, their friendship turned them into bitter enemies.

But still, Chad was sad about how Lucien left and it showed. The once pretty and sunny sky turned dark with soft rumbles of thunder and swirling winds. The only person that knew what was happening had to be Winter. She knew about Chad's ability more than anyone. Chad dropped Lucien's things back into the box and instantly throw it to the side. He stopped feeling sad and the sun came back out to play and reveal it's rays upon the Earth.

After spending about a hour straightening up the shed, he feels like he had been away from the house for too long now and knew that everyone had to be up by now. He exited the shed and closed the door behind him then making his trek back to the house, seeing Winter leaned against the counter with only one shoe. "Uhm, hi, Winter." Chad tried his best not to stare down at her awkwardness moment right now. He hugged Winter close then eyed Aiden, the new addition to the house and Danny.

"Hello there, Aiden. Hope you didn't have any trouble finding the house." Chad said while changing his glance from Aiden to Danny. "How are you doing this morning, Danny? Teleport anywhere interesting lately?" Chad asked with a slight snicker then turned his eyes back towards Winter. After a brief moment, he looked and saw the twins of the house and didn't say anything but simply nodded towards them. "I hope no one noticed the slight change in the weather a few moments ago." Chad looked over towards Winter with a wink, chuckling as he raised a brow. "Where are the other two ladies of the house, Valerie and Scarlett?"

With the shrug of his shoulders, he eyed everyone that was present in the kitchen. "So, anyone up for some breakfast? Lunch?" He asked while rummaging through the cabinet for pots and pans, the loud clanging basically filling up the kitchen. "I know, how about brunch? Yeah, I'll make brunch." Chad nodded his head while sitting the pots and pans on the stove and looking for something to cook now. He tapped his chin with his index finger, wondering what would be best for this occasion.

Aiden was currently struggling greatly behind his calm exterior, and so the others likely assumed that nothing was wrong. The method of travel from the curb he was sitting at not even 5 minutes ago to where he was now, in the kitchen of what he could only surmise belonged to the house he was recently searching for. When the boy named Danny had appeared out of nowhere and hastily introduced himself before placing a hand on Aiden's shoulder and immediately whisking him off to somewhere else faster than one could blink, he was understandably alarmed, as any ordinary individual would be. Of course, Aiden was obviously not 'ordinary,' at least not according to the normal human beings who used the word to describe themselves. But if there were ever someone who felt 'ordinary' in an otherwise completely extraordinary world, it was Aiden Connors. So, needless to say, an ordinary person being instantaneously teleported from one place to the next for the first time would force them into something of a panic. And Aiden was no exception to this reflex...

The other inhabitants of the house all kindly greeted him as they passed by the kitchen before going about their own business, giving him a wave here, or a "hi" there, leaving Aiden to return their kindness with a simple wry smile and an uncomfortable wave of his own. He noted the twins, having the quick thought over whether or not one of them might be blind, before moving on to nodding at a blonde-haired woman who gave him a simple wave and no name before heading towards the door, until finally Chad showed up. All seemed more or less okay on the outside, but Aiden was practically screaming on the inside to keep the boiling heat within to a low temperature. This was a battle he felt he was about to lose.

When the blonde girl left to go outside, Aiden figured he should do the same, and as soon as possible; or risk the chance of lighting up the kitchen along with the fine people around him. He barely noticed Chad walk in at first, and certainly wasn't paying much attention to what he was talking about, but managed a hasty wave as he quickly passed him by all the same. To anyone who didn't have a clue as to what could be going on with him, it might have looked incredibly rude, but Aiden didn't have time to explain. He simply made a beeline straight for the front door -- or what he believed to be the front door, at least; the same door the blonde girl had gone through just before him. Quickly throwing it open, having left his bag back in the kitchen, he rushes out towards the area of the yard opposite and across from the greenhouse, and collapses on all fours just as smoke began to gently billow out from under his clothing. In addition, steam blew from his nose as he breathed heavily and closed his eyes to try and concentrate on not igniting; his fingers slowly curling around the blades of grass, which soon withered in his clutches from the sheer heat of his body temperature. Calming himself down was proving to be quite the task, and his fear of not being able to keep it under control was in turn making the whole process that much more difficult...

This was exactly why Aiden was initially so against the idea of even showing up, much less agreeing to stay, because if he couldn't keep his cool for more than 5 minutes of arrival, then he was in no way fit to become a permanent resident of the household -- no matter how much Winter or Chad had wished it...

"Alright, thanks for letting me know Will!" Winter called from her stance in the kitchen. That was something that no matter how little or unimportant seeming, Winter always wanted to know. Where everyone was. It wasn't a rule or anything of the house, it just gave her a peace of mind; especially when it came to the twins. Ever since that god damn night, she worried about them constantly whenever they were out or if they were going to make it back. That's the only real clear thing she remembered about the whole Lucien ordeal- how she felt when she didn't know if Rob and Will were alive or not. That was probably one of the worst pains she's ever felt, like she'd already fallen off a cliff and didn't know what was waiting for her at the bottom of it.

Letting out a single tired groan, she moved over to the copper kettle that sat on the stove top, hobbling slightly due to the small inch heel on her single foot setting her height off. There was a little bit of water left inside, but not enough to re-heat for a cup of tea, so she grabbed the handle and moved back over to the sink and sat it inside, removing its top and running the water to fill it back up. Glancing over her shoulder as Will moved into the kitchen, she turned fully back around and began saying, "Nope, the note was for Da-" before cutting herself off with a small yelp of surprise as Danny teleported inside right next to her, Aiden by his side. Clutching her chest automatically, she took in a large breath of air, letting the counter behind her fully support her weight as she leaned back. Every god damn time. Every time he teleported like that, she always jumped out of her wits. Thankfully she didn’t have anything in her hands this time; too many times has she wasted a gallon of milk by spilling it on the floor or broke countless cups to them shattering on the floor as she let go of her grasp in shock. Glancing over at the boy as he stuttered his way about, she couldn’t help but flash a small smile. He had troubles talking with girls, it was pretty well known in the house. Nodding her head, Winter gave an apologetic look towards Aiden, saying, "I’m sorry, I think I need an updated map, my handwriting is kind of hard to decipher,” right before Rob strolled on into the kitchen, placing his hand on her back after tossing the strings to his brother.

She knew what he was doing, she always noticed it.

She was grateful, really, but she wasn’t one to generally like being worried about. She always worried about everyone else, so it just felt a little weird to her. Glancing back down at her foot, as both Danny and Rob asked about, Chad even giving a prolonged glance at when he made his entrance, she shrugged and gave a stifled grin. "I just got myself in a rocky situation, It’s nothing,” she stated back, a little more then pleased with herself for the use of the word rocky, as she gave a wave to Val before she left for the green house more then likely.

Hearing Chad say something about the weather, which was an obvious tip towards his power, she cocked an eyebrow at him, silently questioning what he had been doing a few minutes prior to set his mood off like that. A small pang of worry stirred in the petite girls heart, but it was hard to focus on that, or anything for that matter, with the amount of people in close proximity to her. Usually she was fine, only getting the slight urge for her mind had to wonder around peoples heads, but obviously someone must have been feeling uncomfortable as her mind tugged towards theirs like a dog on a leash excited for a walk. Glancing over at Aiden, she half expected him to be uncomfortable with all that was happening. He obviously was good covering up his emotions. One would barley notice by looking at his face, but he probably had a lot of practice trying to keep his calm, even if it never really worked out.

She knew what happened when Aiden lost his cool, and she knew how he felt about it, so she wasn’t surprised at all when he slipped out trying to be discreet as possible. Her evergreen eyes followed him till he vanished out the door, and she gave a brief glance at Chad saying, “I’ll be right back, and make me some eggs please,” before shutting off the still running tap and picking up the overspilling kettle, unsure if he’d need her to drench him cool. Walking out of the kitchen, she quickly paused and popped her head back in, calling to Chad once more, "also, make them scrambled!” before leaving and popping out the door Aiden had left at.

She debated having Will come along with her, so he could do his emotions thing to make him calm down, but she needed to try this first, and wasn't going to spring that on him so quick. However, she would get Will if she needed him later on.

Glancing around the surrounding area, it wasn't at all hard to spot the smoking boy, as the grass withered beneath his grip. Walking towards him, she made sure to make some scuffling noises and walk casually enough that she wouldn't startle him. Sitting herself down on the grass cross-legged, enough space between them that he knew she wasn't scared of what he'd do, but also enough so she didn't get yelled at by him to get back, she set the kettle beside her, folding her arms in her lap. "If you need to, you know," she started to say, before realizing she didn't know how to put it into words. Instead, she went with hand gestures, making them combust as she made some poof noises. She hoped he got what she was trying to say and that she didn't come off seeming like an insensitive arse. "sorry," she said giving a sheepish look, "but really, what you're doing now is only suppressing it back in it's cage, It's not a bad thing to let go- and I have reinforcements," she said, holding up the kettle with water in it, before glancing in and saying, "though, I don't know if this will be enough, I think there's a hose right over there however."

Winter knew well what happened if there was no outlet of emotion. For her, her mind would send a rush of inexplicable pain to the closest persons head, but she wouldn't inform Aiden of that. No, she needed to make sure he was okay enough before she spat on random babbles of similar experiences. She needed to focus on him, not on stupid stories that wouldn't likely make him feel better. He just need to know someone was there for him, wasn't afraid of what he could or would do.

Robin waved at Valerie as she made an appearance. With Valerie leaving, Robin watched her go, seeing that Will was following her movement as she moved around outside then. Will liked to watch everyone when they were outside. He hated the fact that he hadn't seen Lucien in time to avoid what had happened. He hated himself for it.

Rob watched as Chad entered, giving a little wave. Will looked up to him but didn't wave. He liked to be solitary when others that were new were around. He liked people, but he didn't trust people. Not easily at least. He had good reason to as well. Robin waved to get his attention and managed to sign to Will using sign language that he would need to help Robin that night.

Will nodded his acknowledgment to Robin before leaning back in his chair. "Chad, I will take an omelet. I'll make drinks," Will stated as he made sure to reign in any electricity that could possibly shock him before moving to the fridge to begin drinks. Robin and Will both had a smoothie in the morning to make them stronger with their immune systems already being so weak.

Robin nodded, agreeing with Will's offer. "If you don't mind, I'll take one too," Robin stated as he moved to the kitchen counter and began stringing Will's guitar. It was a nice one too. Robin was pretty good at it now, having learned when he was younger since Will hadn't bothered to. He had been so bitter about his blindness when they were younger and he hadn't been able to control his electricity nearly as well causing Will to have a hard time doing anything at all.

"What is brunch anyway?" Will asked as he began tossing a whole bunch of bananas and strawberries on a cutting board. Before he began, he walked to the sink and washed his hands, flinching slightly when his thumb made a spark and hit his other hand. Sighing, Will grabbed a knife and neither him nor Robin freaked out. As Will began cutting the fruit evenly and carefully, he moved quickly. Robin sat at the table, the switching of which twin was which only shown by the difference in outfits. Will wore an outfit his ex foster father had bought him a few years ago. Rob on the other hand wore an outfit he had gotten from his brother last Christmas, picked out with the assistance of Winter to make sure Will got a color that wouldn't look bad.

"It's like, sweet and savory and salty all at once, in the same meal," Robin reasoned. He liked to cook and since Will was better at tasting then most people, Will knew what Robin was talking about. He nodded his understanding before tossing the fruit into a blender he had gotten out. He began blending the fruit together for moment before opening the blender again. He tossed a couple of ice cubes in before resuming the blending, dancing a little to it as he heard a beat.

Winter mentioned how her shoe got stuck in the rocks and Robin covered up a smile before watching as Aiden, the new kid, rushed outside. Robin smiled as he sat back, done with the guitar. "Hey Chad, have you seen the first aid kit around?" Robin asked leisurely, hoping the dude wouldn't ask why. Will seemed to freeze a moment from where he stood though he covered it up by continuing to blend.

Will tossed the blender into the sink before grabbing some glasses and filling them with the smoothie. The banana was packed with potassium which helped both twins get stronger with both their electricity and their immune system.

"Yo Rob, Aiden's outside lit up," Will announced as he observed the scene from where he was sipping his smoothie. He looked like he was staring into a wall, but was in reality watching the scene outside from inside.

"Like me lighting up?" Robin asked as he stood to go look outside through a window instead of through a wall since that didn't work for him. Robin could heat his body and light it up. He had caught a paper on fire once, but that was just because he was sick and his body hadn't been able to control the heat it developed while it was trying to fix itself.

Will shook his head as he took another sip of his smoothie. There were a couple others on the table for those who wanted one as well as some still in the blender. "Nope. Like lit up with fire," Will stated simply before going to pick up his guitar. He sat where Robin had sat and set his smoothie down. With that, he began trying to tune the guitar. He had an ear in order to hear the sharps and flats and how off his guitar, or other instruments, were.

"Haven't seen that before," Robin stated simply before going to retrieve his smoothie. "So what's the plan today? Does anyone know?" Robin asked as he moved to sit next to his brother who pretended he didn't hear Robin.

Chad shrugged his shoulders at a thought he had earlier then turned as Aiden ran outside of the house. With a raised brow, Chad stood there in a shocked manner and looked at Winter. "So, which one of us is going to check on Torch?" He laughed at his little nickname for Aiden already then went back to preparing brunch for the household. He wondered if Aiden was uncomfortable around them and how could he be. Everyone in the house was just alike but different in their own little way, even the twins. With the shake of his head, he heard Winter's request and nodded his head, giving her a brief thumbs up.

He scrambled Winter's eggs then threw the scrambled mix into the fryer and stirred them with pure precision then flopped them onto a nearby plate. He dashed salt and pepper, slightly on top of them but knew that she was going to want something else to go along with her eggs. Chad looked at the twins with a raised brow. "You two." He said after hearing their request and going back over towards the fridge and cabinet then back over to the counter, putting their omelet mixtures together.

His ears twitched when he heard one of them ask what brunch is then turned and replied. "Brunch is basically breakfast but during lunch time? The hell if I know, just heard it a lot." Chad quirked his lips to the side, a bit unsure if he explained that correctly then saw Robin grab bananas and strawberries to make a smoothie. "Dude, you're blind, right?" He turned towards Will in confusion then watched as a spark came from the sink. "Yeah, as usual, electricity and water doesn't go hand in hand." Chad chuckled then went rummaging for the first aid kit. He sat it down on the counter, patting it just in case it came in handy then eyed Rob as he made the smoothie.

With a raised brow, he turned back towards the stove and finished up Will's and Rob's omelet then laid it out before them, already have forks on their plates. "Enjoy, guys." Chad said with a smile then grabbed two more plates, that were already prepared and went out to where Winter and Aiden were present. "Hey, hope I am interrupting anything. Just wanted to bring you guys the brunch I prepared." Chad handed Winter her scrambled eggs with a side of bacon, just the way she likes it then held out a plate towards Aiden. "You do not have to accept this but I'll sit it right here, just in case you want to eat and talk." Chad bent down and sat the plate down beside Aiden then raised up while looking at Winter with a slight wink.

"Okay, I am going back inside now so..." Without finishing his sentence, he walked back inside of the house, the kitchen then eyed Danny. "So, would you like me to prepare you something, as well?" He bit his bottom lip nervously, wondering what was up with Aiden. He knew that Winter would tell him later on but he kind of wanted to know right now. A slight sigh escaped over his parted lips as he hoped that Aiden is not another Lucien. If he was, then he might as well not ever set one foot back into the house.

With another sigh, he awaited Danny's reply but then thought where was Valerie and Scarlett. "Excuse me, Danny. I must go and find two females but when I get back, I'll make you your brunch." Chad said while exiting the house and going towards the glass house, where he saw Valerie going into earlier when he was outside in the shed. While walking in, he maneuvered himself beside Valerie and stood there with a smile. "Mind if I join you?" He'd ask while standing there with his hands inside of his pocket, an innocent but charming look placed upon his face.

Danny stood there, silently watching as everybody went about their business. He didn't want to start stuttering again, and seem like a total spaz in front of the new guy. Well anymore than what he already seems to be. He probably hasn't made the best first impression on the new guy. When Chad came in Danny gave him a nod as a hello. Even if he wasn't talking directly talking to a girl he still get's nervous, and awkward when even in the same room. That troubles him, he likes the girls in the house all well, and fine, and would like to hold a complete conversation with them.

When Winter finally left the room after Aiden he let out a sigh. "She hates me..." He muttered. And why wouldn't she? He can barely string a complete sentance to her, and gives her a heart attack daily. It's not like he does it on purpose, and he always feels pretty rotten about it. "Oh he's using his powers? I wanna see!" Danny said as he teleported to the window next to Robin. Or at least who he hoped was Robin, he get's the two confused a lot, though the one looking at a wall was probably the nearly blind one.

"Pyrokinesis? That's cool...er...whatever. You know what I mean." He said as he watched Aiden, and Winter outside. "I was kinda hoping he was a shape-shifter. Always wanted to see one. And younger....I hate being the baby of the family." He stated. "Think he's gonna stay? Hope I didn't freak him out too much by teleporting him here. I didn't think it'd weird him out too much, since he's got powers and all." Danny wondered. He'd hate to be the reason why someone didn't want to stay.

Danny turned around to face Chad as he rentered the room. "Nah, I'm good. I had me a poptart for breakfast this morning." Danny declined to his offer of brunch. Though he wasn't sure if he heard him or not as he was already off to go see Valerie. Danny sighed. He wishes he had his confidence. "Aren't you the one always with the plan?" Danny asked Robin as he moved over next to the two. "I...I.." Danny started to say, but was interuppted by a sneeze. Lucky he had the vampire sneeze down, and didn't spray the twins. Danny teleported away, and ended up a few feet away from where he was, facing away from the twin.

Danny turned back around, and rubbed his nose. "Dang it. Well at least I didn't end up on the roof this time...or in a closet."

The sky outside looked beautiful today as Scarlett sat outside high up in the tree that was closest to the house. She's been up for a while, silently snuck outside with her sketchbook and climbed up into the tree in order to draw. The early hours seemed to be more relaxing for her even though she wasn't really a morning person but today she had felt different, more laid-back than cranky. Her pencil ran smoothly over the off white colored canvas as it sketched a detailed scenery that she had once saw in a dream of hers. The sketch resembled what looked like a cave, a huge one with vegetation growing all around it.

Her hand kept gently moving across the page making the vines come to life on the paper as she delicately wrapped them around the thin bridge made of stone that stretched from one side of the cave to the other. The trees had merged with the rock and intertwined with them as they stuck out from almost everywhere giving the whole scene an eerie yet familiar feel to Scarlett. Now intrigued on how familiar the picture looked she kept going, she had to finish it now. Next came the wildflowers that resided down under the bridge next to the small stream that flowed into a decent sized body of water inside the cave. In the center of the body of water stood a tree tall and wide bearing the beautiful sight of white petals with only a small fraction of the ceiling removed and crumbled away letting the sun enter so it directly shun on the tree.

Using the eraser Scarlett erased a slight mistake then took a small break. Her head lifted up from her sketchbook and leaned back against the tree with eyes closed as a breeze passed by. Her lungs inflated with the sweet scent of earth and flowers making her body relax with a faint smile upon her lips. A sudden burst of noise caused Scarlett to open her eyes. Blinking a few times her eyes wandered around in front of her before actually looking down and noticing a boy on the ground, wasn't that the new guy? Her eyebrow rose in slight confusion before Winter's silhouette came into view, they began to talk but Scarlett was to high to hear, plus she felt as if she would be invading their privacy if she could hear them. The woman's eyes caught the sight of his flames though which caused a jog in her memory. The lantern! That's right, there was a lantern in my dream.

Inwardly talking to herself Scarlett moved her eyes back down to her paper totally forgetting about the two below her and drew the lantern that she had pictured in her head on the right side of the bridge. Once she finished her gaze swept over the sketch, she took in everything and it looked beautifully eerie to her but something was missing. Tapping the pencil against her chin softly and in a slow rhythmic way Scarlett pondered the question of what was missing. She thought and thought for a couple of minutes and once she got frustrated enough she blew out a sigh, finally giving up for now.

Climbing down a few branches quietly before jumping the rest of the way down Scar landed on her feet, a little wobble but still on her feet. Her head turned slightly around to check if the two behind her noticed her before slightly jogging back inside through the front door and into the kitchen where she was met with the rest of her friends. "Hey there" she smiled and softly waved before pushing up her glasses and settling her sketchbook along with the pencil on the table.

XXXThe hammock inside the greenhouse was by far her favorite feature. When people couldn't find her, she was in either one of three places. The greenhouse, the stone shed, or her room. It was rare to see her in the living room simply hanging around, or in the kitchen at times other that breakfast and dinner. She typically skipped lunch.
XXXValerie felt weightless a top of the hanging piece of cloth. A leg dangled out from a side, and her eyes remained closed. Some wonder what she even had to think about anymore. Most of her time was spent within her head. The girl didn't mind in the slightest. Her mind was the only place she could function through anything. The reality was, what didn't she have to think about.
XXXInside her mind she debated the values of the world. She was her own philosopher. It was like cosmos laid hidden within her, waiting to be discovered. She thought the same of everyone else. Valerie believed all people had potential to be brighter than the stars. But she didn't want to shine. She wanted to be a fly on the wall, watching the world turn about, eventually to one day share words with others.
XXXAt this point in her life, she knew she was much to inexperienced to share supposed wisdom. Even after all she went through, and all she endured - she only waited for life's next boulder to come her way. Whatever that ended up being, she felt prepared.
XXXThe one time she opened her eyes to look out of the glass planes, she saw smoke rising from the new person, and fire spew. So that was his ability. Valerie had to be glad she chose to let him go about his business instead of trying to speak to him. The pressure was probably a lot for the guy to handle. She didn't feel bad in particular, but she understood the feeling. When she arrived to the house, she was the same way. Those that knew her would say she's talkative now compared to her former state. At her first arrival, she hardly left her room. Over time she was able to come out of that shell, but the quiet still seeped within her.
XXXThe small bell a top of the door to the greenhouse rang, and her eyes averted over to the door. She saw Chad walking towards her, and could only wonder if he needed something. She liked him well enough, as she did everyone else. No one had given her a reason to particularly dislike them either. She returned the smile her gave her with weaker intensity. She sat up as well as she could within the hammock when he asked if he could join her.
XXX"It's as much your greenhouse as mine. I don't mind. There's a chair against the wall" she pointed before putting her head back down within the cloth. She didn't have much to say in the terms of conversation. Though, many learned that by now.

"Aiden, the first thing you need to know about me is I'm not one to leave people alone like this," she spoke softly, no other tone in her voice other then the one that let him know that was just the plain and simple truth.

And it was the truth. Never once when one of the other residents of the house were having a panic attack or any other sort of freak out was Winter never there. She wanted to help. Really, that's all she ever wanted to do. That's the whole reason Chad and herself started the Haven, she didn't want anyone to feel like she used to feel-- hell, still feels. Alone and not in control of ones own life. It was a place of acceptance, and a place to learn to control. Looking at Aiden now, she knew he couldn't leave the Haven, however she wasn't going to stop him if he truly wanted to, this wasn't a prison. She could almost feel the fear coming off of him, the fear that nearly everyone in the house had experienced once before thanks to delightful history. Everyone here really had the fear of hurting someone, wether or not they experienced it first hand. She had, and she knew the unbearable guilt that came along with it. Not a damn day went by when she wasn't reminded of something she’d done in the past because she just couldn’t control her power. There was no way to fully rid herself of that.

Winter went to say something else, but stopped abruptly before she even made a sound as Chad made an appearance, food in hand. This really was a bad time. He set them down with only a small statement, before disappearing into the house again. She knew Chad so well that honestly nothing he did could surprise her anymore. He probably just wanted to check out the situation; he was a little watchful sometimes. He, like her, didn’t want a Lucien situation again. No one would want that again, or needed to worry about that. Thats why Chad, the Twins, and herself never brought it up to the rest of the members to the house. No need for them to worry.

Speaking of which, The Lucien ordeal was another prime example of how Winter would try and help and protect people without a care in the world about her own health and well-being. She had stopped a fight between Lucien and Chad on the night of the disaster, and ended up getting sliced pretty badly in the back. Despite her photogenic memory, and the fact she remembered every singe detail of her past life, that was the only thing that ever showed up as a blur to her. During that time, she never even felt a real pain from the metal that punctured and slid down her skin with ease. All she remembered was the worry she felt. The worry that something bad was going to happen to her family, or that something already had. She knew that Rob and Will had left to track Lucien, and when Lucien came back blood drenched and mumbling on how he killed someone, her mind immediately jumped to the twins. That’s all she remembered of that night, the horror of not knowing if they were alive or dead. She didn't remember some stupid wound.

Looking at the plate, she simply pushed it slightly away from herself. Her eggs were going to get cold.

Turning her attention fully back to the boy in front of her, she said, “I’m glad you came here. Do not ever think that you’re troublesome here, because you aren’t.” If Aiden never came to the Haven, he would simply continue on in his life having these panic like attacks, no control. Yes, he could work on controlling them himself, but it’s much easier with someone else helping out- especially someone who had first hand experiences the same as his. Well, not fully the same, but similar. “Just listen to my voice okay? Focus on that, not the thoughts running through your head,” she stated, speaking with her soft british tone again. She was going to treat it like a panic attack, in which it really was. Just a panic attack with a little something special.

“I’m going to help you with this,” she started off, her vibrant green eyes trying to catch his frustrated gaze. “Come to me when you feel one of these coming, or with anything wrong. You can trust me, and I will trust you. No questions asked.” He could honestly go to anyone in the house when he was having an issue, and she knew they would try and help in their own personal ways if they could. But she could tell Aiden wouldn't freely just go to anyone, wouldn't freely open up to anyone. It really was a one person at a time process.

"Now I want you to take deep breaths and focus on something completely different in your head. Get whatever negative thoughts in your head and replace them." That's where the root of the problem lied- he couldn't calm down. He had a worry in his head that was just making it worse, and as soon as he stopped focusing on that, and started focussing on something more pleasant, he hopefully would start to come down from whatever emotional high he was on. "Try counting backwards in your head from a hundred, think of a pleasant memory. I could even tell you a stupid story or sing, whatever gets you out of your thoughts." That's often what she would do when her own thoughts overwhelmed her. She didn't like asking for help, but she'd sometimes go to Chad and just tell him to keep talking, tell her silly things that didn't even have to make sense. It helped, if even for a little bit. Her mind would go from processing her own memories and trying to tug it's way to everyone else's mind, and focus on what he was saying.

If Aiden really needed it, Winter could even go into his head and pull out a good memory, showing it to him almost like a movie in his thoughts. She could even pull out one of her own good memories. She didn't want to offer that up quite yet however, it was more of a last minute thing. He needed to learn how to control these without someone else there, in case the situation ever presented itself.

She hoped this would work for him, but she knew even if it didn't, she wouldn't stop trying to find something that would however long it took.

Will and Rob looked to Chad with raised eyebrows as he asked who was going outside, touching their noses as they went back to their businesses. They kind of liked the new kid, having similar feelings of it. They didn't dislike him, but both were still suspicious of things, like new people.

When Chad kind of seemed to groan at the requests of so much food, both twins smiled up at him broadly. "Thanks Chad, you are oh so wise," Will stated with a roll of his eyes and the sarcasm dripping down his chin.

When Chad asked if he was blind, Will looked at the guy, waving the knife around a little. "Yes, and you're smaller, right?" Will asked with a teasing smile before tossing the knife carelessly into the sink.

He wasn't bigger than Chad necessarily, but he weighed more. He only knew because of how close he Will and Rob weighed and how Chad and Rob's electrical currents through them flowed different. Rob's was a little slower and Chad's a little faster. Will also worked out a lot with his brother since they were so susceptible to getting sick and needed to stay as strong as possible.

Will nor Rob mentioned that the first aid kit wasn't for a burn from the electricity. Will grabbed the plates and set Rob's in front of him before beginning to eat his own. The two were eating heartily when Chad left.

Rob turned to Danny. "Dude, she doesn't hate you, you're just too shy. Come on, be nice and brave," Rob declared with a pounding of the table though it was light and meant to be more of a joke than an actual statement.

Robin looked to Danny as he responded to Robin's question. "That is a relative term. I have the plan when I'm told to come up with a plan. I have not been told recently, therefore, I have no plan, except to find the plans and develop a plan after that," Robin explained though Will furrowed his brow slightly.

"That doesn't make sense," Will stated simply. His brother looked thoughtful for a moment. "Mmm... Nah, it does," He decided before finishing off his omelet and going to wash off the dirty dishes.

Dan sneezed and ended up a few feet away from where he was. Rob stifled a smile and Will outright laughed. "Come on Dan, I loved when you ended up in the closet, that was great!" Will said with a sigh as he calmed his laughter.

The front door opened and before Scarlet had gotten into the kitchen, Will called out, "Hi Scarlet!" His tone was the most obnoxiously friendly, childish hello he could manage and he just sank back in his chair as he continued to eat his omelet before picking up his fixed guitar and beginning to strum the song Thousand Years. It was such a pretty song and he loved it. He hummed, not feeling the singing part as of right then.

Robin picked up Will's plate and began to wash that off as he asked his brother, "How's hot head doing?" Will looked in the general direction Aiden and Winter were, seeing them outside clear as day though Robin couldn't see them from where he was.

"He looks like he's doing better. Not entirely sure though," Will stated with squinted eyes though it didn't do anything. "Scarlet, what you working on?" Will asked curiously, not bothering to try and look as he sat comfortably in his seat, turning his face to her as he waited for a response.

Winter watched intently, a soft worry in her gaze as he tried what she had suggested. She wasn’t sure what he was thinking about, but he looked way too focused for it to be a good memory, or any other type of memory for that matter. That didn’t surprise her exactly, she had a feeling Aiden didn’t have many bright remembrances in his life. Not ones that would have lasted too long at least, it was a pretty commonly shared trait amongst other ability users. Aiden seemed to be doing better then before however; he didn't seem as close to the edge of his metaphorical cliff as he once did before, yet he wasn't exactly close from stepping off that ledge either. She could see the pure focus on whatever he decided to concentrate on, but he was still too frustrated with it all. He was still thinking about the negative, and she needed to get him completely off that topic. If she could get him to not have an outburst at this moment, she would consider that a win. And if not? Well this was a pretty damn good start.

"It's okay, don't be frustrated," she spoke softly, unfolding her hands from her lap and putting them behind her in order to shift her weight onto them.

As he told her the trick didn’t work, she shook her head slightly as she said, "counting doesn't work for everyone, you just need to find your method," giving a slight lopsided smile.

The tiny smile turned into an amused grin at his later comments about her voice, and she couldn’t help but let a little laugh escape her lips. “It’s the british accent isn’t it? When I first came to America that’s all people ever told me, that my accent was either super weird or super cool. Granted, they were all little kids,” she giggled on, remembering some of the more funnier encounters she had. Most adults ignored it of course, but little kids always seemed to speak their minds. She didn’t care at all however. Despite being quite a young teenager herself when she arrived, she always loved little children. Their innocence was something she envied and barley ever had in her own childhood. Their thoughts were pure and untainted, which was a breath of cool ice air back when she couldn’t stop connections. She preferred children's thoughts of candy or early morning saturday cartoons rather then the thoughts of people who were making their way homes from one night stands or ones who thought evil and gruesome things. Yet kids were always more inquisitive and sensitive to unusual things, so they would pick up on Winters own strangeness fairly quickly if they were around her long enough. They also never took issue in bringing it up.

“Okay, I can do a story, just let me think,” she said, as she glanced up instinctively towards the blue and slightly clouded sky. She needed to come up with something quickly, but it was proving hard to do so. She herself didn’t have too many great memories, and those that were only lasted around a minute or more, not necessarily something that she could keep on talking about. She could come up with a story- but she was terrible at that. Her creativity dwindled as she got older, as a child she could come up with the most ridiculous yet creative tales, but now the best she could probably do was to come up with something about a dog who lost his ball and how that’s really just a metaphor for life. Which is really weird.

Finally a memory clicked to mind and a small gentle smile spread on her face.

“Okay, I got one!” She stated, half excitedly. “Alright, so back when I was a kid I was pretty isolated in my house. It was a gated home, and the only people I ever saw were my parents and some of my dads, uhm, coworkers.” She wasn’t going to say his co workers were people who tested on her, no, she was going to try and keep this as light and happy as possible. “Anyways, one day, I was five years old, I was left alone as Dad was at work and Mum was shopping, but I was at the kitchen table painting with some of the stuff my mother left me to be entertained with. My mom was an artist so it was the easiest thing for her to do for me.” She did that a lot. “All of a sudden, there was this knocking sound on the window, and I’m a very jumpy person, so I screamed and fell off my chair. The paints came down with me, and I got blue all in my hair,” she laughed lightly remembering the odd spectacle. “Anyways, I looked at the window and theres a young boy, who was probably around my age at the time, peering in and staring at me with these huge blue eyes. I didn’t know exactly how to react so I just kind of yelled from my spot on the floor, ‘Are you real?’ To which he just nodded frantically in reply. It was just so weird to me, I’ve never met anyone remotely close to my age. I got up and ran outside just super eager, and I asked him how he got in past the gates. Turns out he was a good climber.” She smiled, moving her hands back onto her lap where she twiddled her thumbs. “I think of him as my first friend even though I don’t even know his name. He told me he was on vacation in my city of Cambridge because his dad was doing a guest speaking at the university. When I said his voice sounded funny, he then informed me he lived in America. I guess he left early in the morning from his hotel to go exploring. I can only imagine now just how worried his parents must have been.” Turns out he actually wasn’t too far from his hotel. After Winters mother came home, she asked the young boy where he lived and he told her the name of the hotel. All she told Winter was that he did get back to his parents safety and that she shouldn’t interact with any one ever again unless it was those she’d already been told she was allowed to. “We spent the whole day just running around my property, and broke some stuff by accident. I had a tire swing and we both sat on it, but the branch couldn’t support both of us and it snapped. I got so scratched up, it was funny. In between all the dirt on my clothes and the paint in my hair, I don’t think I’ve ever been that dirty in my life.” That reminded her of another thing she and the boy did. “We went inside eventually and I asked him if he wanted to paint. What we ended up doing is grabbing one of my mothers overly large canvases and we painted or hands, out feet and we splashed colours all over it, made a mess really. Thats when my mother finally came back and found us. I told him that he could keep the painting, so he took it with him when my mom went to take him to find his parents.”

She got in a lot of trouble afterwards, but that wasn’t something she needed to go into detail about.

“I don’t think I’ve actually ever told anyone that story…” She pointed out, trying to think back. No, that was a lie, she did. Lucien. But she wouldn’t bring that up. Really, she never told anyone much about her past history. Chad knew most of what she dealt with as a kid. He was the only one who knew of what caused her parents to run of the road and die that night. It wasn’t even something she was planning on telling him- she had fallen asleep on the couch beside him one night and started having nightmare about it, accidentally pulling him into it. That only proved to remind her why her bedroom was in the basement far apart from everyone else’s room. It allowed her to not be pulled into anyone dreams, or to pull anyone into hers. The Twins knew a bit about her past too but not in full detail. She never generally told stories like this though. It just never came up into conversation, and she never thought of it as something others would really want to know. She's told Danny a few silly things from her past or stupid things she's done in order to try to strike up conversation with him, but thats it.

Studying Aiden with an inquisitive look, she tried to assess how exactly well he was doing.

Chad smiled towards Valerie at her words then went over to the corner and grabbed the chair, sitting down in front of her. "So, why are you out here alone and not inside the house? I made brunch." He spoke softly then bit his bottom lip while leaning up towards her. "I know that you are the silent and kind of awkward type of person but you don't have to be around me or the others. We're just like you..." Chad smiled as he said his next word. "Special." He sighed while leaning back in his chair, shrugging his shoulders. "Plus, you missed the new guy running out in a blaze. Literally." Chad chuckled slightly as his use of words there. He eyed Valerie again then lowered his head a little, trying to figure out what she likes.

He had nothing. Chad really wanted Valerie to open up a little bit more but of course, for anybody, that took time. He smirked a little then snapped his fingers in the air, reaching out to grab her hand. "Oh, my god, follow me." He'd run outside and hold Valerie in place then take a few steps away from her now. "Watch this." Chad closed his eyes for a moment and breathed then opened his eyes and held his hands up to the air. Soon, dark gray clouds would hide the sun and fill the sky along with a soft rumble of thunder could be heard and a light rain began to drop from the sky.

"Cool, right?" He looked towards Valerie then clenched his fists as the rain got slightly heavier. Chad knew how to hone his ability really well, of course with Winter's mentoring. Chad once again held his hands up towards the air and the rain stopped, along with the rumbles of thunder and the sun shined once again. "Pretty neat, huh?" He had completely forgotten about the fact that Winter and Aiden was outside. Chad put that thought in the back of his mind because he knew that he was going to hear it later. Him and Winter always had have conversations when he accidentally got too carried away with his ability.

"I should apologize for getting you wet." Chad chuckled at his comment then looked up at Valerie. "Maybe now you can go inside the house and dry yourself off?" He practically questioned towards her while turning heel and walking back towards the house. "Your choice." He said while not facing her but hoped that his plan to get her inside of the house worked.

Upon entering the house soaking wet, he didn't speak but simply ran upstairs and got himself a towel to dry his face, arms, hair and legs off. He then made a short trek to his room and changed clothing but wore nothing but a pair of tennis shoes and basketball shorts. Chad strutted around his room, fixing it up a bit then decided to sit on the edge of his bed and open up a book that was left by Lucien. Chad sighed as he maneuvered himself so that he was laying down, belly first onto his bed as he continued to reading the book.

"Easy for you to say Daredevil, you're not the one with claustrophobia." Danny huffed, and folded his arms at Will saying it's funny when he ends up in a closet. Though Danny would admit it probably is funny, but for a guy with such a intense fear of the dark, and enclosed spaces....it's a nightmare. He shuttered at the mere thought of it. "Besides do you really wanna go there with the downsides of powers?" He smirked, thinking about how he can barely get into water. Though he didn't want to mention it, it seemed like a bit of a low blow to him.

When Will greeted Scarlett he turned to face her, and as before with Winter he began to get all nervous, and avoided eye contact like the plague. Robin's words earlier about him being brave rang in his ears. 'Come on Danny! You can teleport for God's sake, you can talk to one girl! Let's do this!' He mentally preped himself. "Um....H-h-hi.....Sc-c-c-carlett." He struggled to get out, and then he took a deep gulp. "I..I..uh...got a new b-b-book. It's....uh...2-2-2-206-61 Ody-yssey...Th-th-ree. It...not new new....just......t-t-o me. Ha-have y-you....read it?" He struggled, hoping that she understood that he got 2061: Odyssey Three.

Though it may not seem like, he does feel a bit more comfortable around Scarlett than the other girls. Maybe it's because they have a few similar interests, both like vintage things, and movies, and have a apprecation of art. Though he wouldn't call his photos art. But he was still pretty awkward around her. He took a big uncomfortable gulp, and tried to lift up his head to look at her, to no avil. He brought his mind off of her, and began wondering about how Aiden was handling things. He wishes he could do something to help the dude, but he's not quite sure what he can do. His powers are pretty different from his fire thing.

He managed to look over, and saw Chad dripping wet, and heading up stairs. He raised an eyebrow.

XXX
XXXHer eyes opened when Chad put the chair in front of the hammock. Valerie looked at him as he spoke, her face remaining straight as he tried to almost persuade her to talk. She hadn't realized the vibe she had given off to others. Chad was much more talkative than a few. As he had to be if he was running the place with Winter. Unlike the idea of facilities, and having leaders - she didn't look to them like that. She saw them as mentors, even friends. It was hard to place such authority in people that were her own age. It took a lot to do what they were doing, the idea of being caught bone chilling. Simply, she respected them.
XXX"There's just nothing to say. Don't take it personally" her two sentences calmly rolled from her. The outstretched hand was ignored as she got to her feet, following him outside to see the spectacle that were his abilities.
XXXIt wasn't like she hadn't seen him do this before. She had an idea of everyone's powers. The one she hadn't really seen in action was Winter's. Though she had the idea that Winter used the ability far more than spoken of. As would Valerie is she had that gift. Instead she had life's energy to manipulate within herself.
XXXValerie stood in the grass as Chad raised his hands towards the sky. Moments later soft rain trickled down. All outside were caught in the small event. Valerie's pinned up hair began sticking to her, so she peeled the bandanna that kept her hair back, allowing the blonde waves to fall free. Looking to the new guy it seemed he enjoyed the spectacle.
XXXDespite getting wet she made no attempt to run out of the rain. It was something natural. For the most part at the moment. It was interesting to say the least, Chad's ability. The skies were always something she could get lost in. To control it was something she couldn't imagine.
XXXWhen the rain poured it's last drop Chad apologized. She waved it off, only nodding. Her wet hair dripping, as were her clothes. Before walking inside she took the moment to pause a small distance away from Winter and newbie.
XXX"Welcome to the house" the greeting didn't last long until she walked through the sliding glass doors back into the house. Slipping off her shoes on the small mat, Valerie wrung out her hair slightly on it as well. She shook her head to get back the natural flow of it. Inside was the sound of guitar and the chattering of others.
XXXValerie moved past them all to the hallway into her room to find new things to wear. She'd rather not get everything wet. The girl slipped on sweatpants instead figuring they wouldn't leave the house for the remainder of the day. She sat down on her bed, pulling her guitar from the corner, plucking away at the strings. She played with an absent mind, the song Wonderwall. Even if others thought she wasn't the happiest, or the friendliest - she was far more content than any probably realized.

Winter gave a little bit of a shy laugh at his comment, instinctively reaching to put her hand on the back of her neck. "I don't really tend to tell people stories of my past I guess," she admitted with a tiny smile. The person who knew the most about her in the house had to be Chad. He knew the most about her life before the Haven, simply because he had been apart of it for a short time. He, so far, was the one person she knew who hadn't left her in that point of time, who always stuck around. She hoped he always would in some way or form. Eventually everyone parts ways, but she would make damn sure they sent each other letters and visited all the time if it ever came to that. If she were to ever be fully separated from him, never to hear from him again, it would be an even darker world then what she'd already experienced. He was the single person she never fault... cautious around. She was one to never ever use her powers around any one, or reveal her demons, but she had no reservations when it came to him. She trusted him with all her heart, and she hoped he felt the same about her. He knew every single detail of why Winter was the way she was.

Glancing at Aiden as he looked over his hands and examined his state, she couldn't help but give an overjoyed smile, and he shot one right back at her. Well, it looked like stories worked. She herself even in the middle of telling him the odd tale totally forgot why she was doing it in the first place. Once she got a vivid memory in her head, she tended to wander and focus strictly on that. There were few things that made her focus completely, and one of those things tended to be bringing up past memories in full detail. It was nearly as effective as when she painted or drew, but not quite.

Her mind, however curious it was, couldn't ignore the all too sudden down pour of rain that trenched over the small valley the house lay on.

Looking up towards the mixed grey sky, she shook her head with a small laugh, mumbling simply under her breath, "Chad, you nutter." Winter liked rain, and often found herself wandering outside when it did. It was refreshing and gave off a certain atmosphere that relaxed her, no matter odd it was. However, when thunder was involved, it was a completely different story. Winter pulled herself off the ground, only to twirl once as the rain kept on hitting her face in an almost refreshing manner, but she completely jumped out of her wits when the first roar of thunder erupted. Clutching her chest as she did only shortly before in the kitchen when Danny had teleported right beside her, her eyes bugged out a bit and she breathed out, "I'm going to yell at him," in reference to Chad. However, the sudden role of the change in weather didn't end there, no, the rain only poured on heavier. Winter whipped her head around, trying to peak around to see where Chad was, wether he was doing it from outside or inside, but she couldn't spot his familiar frame anywhere. Part of her was concerned it was a mood swing, but she highly doubted that. No, it came on too suddenly and changed too swiftly and easily for it to have been something brought on upon simple emotions. He was doing it on purpose. That bloody bugger.

Looking back down at Aiden as he gave the bucket comment, she looked over to the pathetic little kettle that was now over flowing with the after the rain added to it. Covering her face in her hands, her wet hair clung to her face. "I can't believe I brought a kettle outside to help," she called back over to Aiden, peeking through the cracks of her fingers as she gave a joyful laugh in disbelief. Yeah, what a super hero she was, equipped with her trusty copper kettle. How embarrassing.

The rain seem to stop almost as fast as it had started, and she pushed her damp brunette locks away from her face, still giving a laughing glance down Aiden's way. "Alright, I'm going inside to get changed, why don't you meet me inside and I'll show you to your room. It's up on the second floor, third door on the right though if you wanna get settled in yourself," she told him, before quickly adding in, "I'll also take you to the store room, you can grab some extra furniture or stuff there if you want," she smiled, before Valerie approached behind her and gave her very familiar curt greeting to the boy, before she made it back inside, obviously caught by the rain as well. Winter loved Val, they had their own special relationship and bond. Many were often taken aback by her very outright and quiet nature, but Winter just saw it as a special quirk that only made her love the girl more. She just lightly chuckled, before trailing behind the blonde headed girl back inside after she picked up the plate of food Chad previously brought outside, along with her kettle.

Her hair dripped on the hardwood of the entrance, so she gathered it up and flopped it over her shoulder, so the water would sink into her already wet shirt. It didn't stop the dripping of every other piece of clothing on her though. Making her way past where everyone sat, she called over her shoulder, "Mornin' Scar," as she didn't see the girl yet that day. She also loved Scarlett dearly, she acted as a sister to the girl and she probably would never understand how much that meant to her, despite how much they bicker at times.

Racing down the steps to her basement room, after unloading the plate at kettle on the kitchen counter, she opened her door and almost as swiftly closed it, leaning against the back of it as she did. Today had already felt so long, for it to have only been so short.

Opening up her drawers, she grabbed out some new clothes before peeling the wet ones off and replacing them. She was pretty content with the warm grey sweater, but one quick look at her feet sent her mind reeling. She was still only wearing a single shoe. Sighing, she flicked off the black oxford and replaced its spot on her feet with a pair of black fluffy socks. She actually disliked wearing shoes inside, so these were a great alternative. Now all that she had left to do was to go ask Chad what the hell he was doing earlier.

Making her way back up the steps, she walked over to the upper stair case, simply yelling "Chad!" as she was sure he was suspecting a visit from her. Stalking her way up the stairs like some huffy wet haired dwarf, she slipped in past his door, and began on a spiel, "dude, I was outside, what would have happened if Aiden hadn't have calmed down yet, and now I'm probably going to get si-" she had to stop herself. As soon as her green eyes landed on the book in Chads hands, she simply ceased talking. She remembered that book.

"Wasn't that Lucien's?" she questioned in a soft spoken way, still eyeing the cover.

One night Lucien had come down to her room, I guess he heard her thrashing in her sleep or something because he woke her up from the repetitive nightmare she had most of the time. She attempted to try and get him to forget about it, to continue back upstairs and to go back to sleep himself, but he wouldn't budge. He knew Winter probably wouldn't sleep for the rest of the night, so he told her he would try and keep her mind off of things, so he simply ran back upstairs, grabbed a book, and began reading to her as he sat on her floor. He must have read well over a hundred pages that night. However, he ended up falling asleep on the hard floor of her room before she did.

Will didn't notice Chad being wet, though he had briefly seen the rain outside in the waves of rain. Robin on the other hand, stifled a laugh as Chad walked in soaking wet. He didn't come back down and Will informed him that Chad was upstairs reading.

Robin looked to Will and shrugged with a smile. Chad did as he pleased, Robin did as he pleased. Will did as he pleased when he could and basically everyone did what they felt like.

When Danny asked about the downsides of powers, Will let it roll of his shoulders. Yeah, he couldn't get into water if he wanted to be able to see. But at least his powers let him see at all. He didn't like being entirely blind, it made him dizzy and sick and horrible.

Robin shrugged slightly at the comment as he began messing with one of the pencils on the counter with one hand. He didn't mind the water thing. He didn't like that he couldn't swim without concentrating, but he could. Will was lucky he could focus his electricity so he could wash his hands and stuff while seeing, but Robin had to be careful. He couldn't have electricity in his lower body whatsoever if he wanted to wash his hands. But he could see. So that was good.

Danny seemed to have taken some of Rob's advice and he smiled proudly, like a big, proud brother. He moved slightly and winced. William noticed it right away and frowned immediately. He motioned to go down the hall and Robin shook his head slightly. They'd do it later, when it wouldn't be so suspicious.

William struck up another song on his guitar and smiled as his fingers found the chords easily, knowing what to press down to make what sound he needed. Robin smiled at his brother even though he couldn't see it.

Winter made another appearance and was soaking wet which caused Robin to go ahead and chuckle. When Winter called for Chad, Will made a wide eyed face. "Oh, someone's in trouble," He stated with a laugh. Robin outright laughed at that comment.

The two leaned back in their chairs, Will looking to Robin with a questioning glance though Robin just shook his head again before heading to his room to grab one of his favorite books. William sighed before relenting and leaning back in his chair more comfortably. Their lives were pretty boring ever since they came to Safe Haven, but that was sometimes a good thing. Boring could be good.

When Robin reappeared, he sat down and began rereading one of his favorite books. He had once lent it to the household and within, discovered a note that stated what the day's chores and activities were, reminding Robin of the need to know what was going on. He refrained from leaning his entire body back, instead tilting his head back and calling, "Winter, do we have plans for today yet or are we just winging things again?"

William looked considering before he called, "We should get take out food. Like, Chinese. Or pizza. Both are good." He smiled at his thoughts before adjusting the sharpness of one cord before playing it and smiling at the fixed result.

Chad continued to sit there, somewhat indulged into the book he was reading before him. He lost sight for a moment, still remembering the night that Lucien went ballistic and stabbed Winter in the back - Literally. His jaws clenched and one of his fists balled up but he soon calmed down as Winter shouted his name. 'Oh, god.' He thought to himself while immediately setting himself up and looking as Winter just walked into his room. "Ever heard of knocking?" He slightly joked while keeping his gaze upon her.

He listened to her words and nodded his head. "I know. I am sorry, didn't mean..." His words were interrupted by Winter as she eyed the book and questioned if it was Lucien's. "Why yes. Yes it is." Chad said while closing the book and sitting aside. "I can get rid of it if you like." He bit his lip a bit nervously, not really wanting to get rid of the book because it was such a great read. Who knew that Lucien had a bit of a soft side. Lucien damn sure had a hard way of showing it and Chad knew it, along with Winter.

"You know, I'll never forget when we first introduced Lucien to the house." Chad said while standing there and stroking his chin with his forefingers now. "Who knew that he'd turn out that way." He chuckled softly while shrugging his shoulders, as well. Chad eyed Winter again with a slight sigh, waving his hand towards her back. "How's your back? Healing well, I hope." Once again, his jaws clenched and his fists balled up but he inhaled then exhaled and was calm again.

"Well, I am just glad to see that you're okay, honestly." He'd walk up to her and give her a small hug, breaking it shortly. "So, I think we need to get everyone out of this house. Especially Valerie who is too introverted, if you ask me." Another chuckle came over him as he winked towards Winter while walking past her. "I'll meet you downstairs." Chad ran down the stairs and back into the kitchen, looking towards Scarlet. "So nice of you to join us, Scar." He said while then glancing his eyes over at the Twins.

"You two seem very eager to get out of the house. What are you two up to?" He asked while looking at them with a raised brow.

Will and Robin look to each other as had comes downstairs and asks them what they're up to. Robin seemed to consider his words first before shrugging and doing it slowly so he didn't move too much too fast. William watched him carefully before he turned his entire attention to Chad with a lazy grin on his face.

"Chad, darling, you see, technically I have only four senses. My hearing and taste senses are both growing bored with the hearing and taste options around me, so I want to go out so I can hear more," William stated as if trying to explain to a judge why he shot someone he didn't like. Because he didn't like them. Duh.

Robin looked confused for a moment, opening and closing his mouth a few times before finding the words he wanted to use. "William, you can literally see everything but colors and words. That is it. You can even see through walls. Technically you have better sight than all of us," Robin states as if he was unsure how Will could think of himself that way.

Will paused his guitar playing, seeming to consider the words for a moment before shaking his head. "Nope. Uh uh. Because eye doctors use letter charts to judge vision, and I can't see the letters to tell them, I technically have zero twenty vision. I am legally blind." Will gives a nod of his head as if to cement what he said to everyone else. He then "glanced" down at his guitar to line up his fingers to the strings again before beginning to play again.

Robin sighed. "If you are legally blind, why were you cutting fruit...Whatever. You are basically color blind to every color except one, and I don't even know what color that is since you can't tell me," Robin stated with a sigh as he adjusted how he was sitting in his chair again.

Robin looked up to Chad and stated simply, "Dude, we need to get out. Going out for groceries is only temporarily satisfying and Will hasn't even gotten out for a few days. He's blind not dead," Robin explained in a better way. Will nods, not looking up from where he was watching his fingers on the guitar as he responded with an "Amen brother."

"Plus, Chad, we can get take out food. We can even pick up stuff to make dessert. I can make some mean desserts to celebrate our new kid. What does new kid like? Tiramisu? Chocolate Cake? S'mores? Straight up icing?" Robin asks with a lazy grin as he sits back, his sleeves coming up a bit as he forgot why he wanted them so far down on his arms and moved to give his hands more mobility.

William smiled, looking to his brother, exactly where Robin's scars were though he couldn't see the variation in his brother's skin tones. He could always feel the scars his brother had on his wrists, but he couldn't see the difference. "Funfetti icing is the absolute best,"
William stated with a nod. Robin nodded back in return before looking to Chad for confirmation.

Everyone who knew Robin saw the scars sometime or another. He used to wear bandages around them so it wasn't out there, but then people believed he had done it recently. William didn't see them but he knew why Robin had the scars. The only other people who really knew why, or had an idea why, was Winter and Chad. Winter because the twins told her everything when they first went to the haven, Chad because Robin was embarrassed when Chad first saw them and wanted to explain he wasn't suicidal and that he shouldn't be treated differently just because he had scars where he would normally have scars should he have been suicidal.

The twins looked to Chad and made a double "Pwease" at the fellow before William continued his paused guitar strumming and Robin glanced at the book before him as he waited for a response from Chad so he could keep reading his book. It was a good one too. It was a fiction thing that was about some person that designed clothing but spent a couple years in the wilderness before being found.
