When Ella met her prep team she thought they all looked like clowns. She didn't care much for them, and just wanted to get this part over with. As her prep team dressed her and she looked in the mirror she gasped. Never in all of her life did she see a dress that beautiful. It was a floor length dress with no sleeves. It was a pure white with many different colored gems along the hem of the dress. As she twirled in it she felt like a star. Then it was time to go.
As Ella met the boy from her district she gave him a quick inspection. She thought that he would make a nice ally for the first part of the games, then she could kill him off later. As she mounted the chariot she looked around. She saw that most of the tributes were scared under fake smiles. "This will be easy," she thought to herself.

The next day Ella went to the training grounds. She knew how this was suppose to work form watching previous game replays. She decided to start with the climbing station. It wasn't hard at all, just not her favorite. Ella quickly climbed to the top with ease then jumped down. The impact didn't hurt her at all, but it seemed to surprise many people. She then just smiled at everyone and walked away.

Adalay didn't really hear her name being called when they announced District Two. She didn't want to hear it in fact. It was disgusting. She wanted no part of it. She felt someone gently nudge her and she had looked back at them to see them nod at the stage as if to say, "You've been chosen." She sighed and shook her head. All of this was for the enjoyment of the Capitol. She swore under her breath and walked up to the stage, feeling the rage boil up inside of her. It was despicable.
After all the names of the contestants were called she remained on the stage. Nobody came up to talk to her. She had no "Good lucks," as some of the others did. The reporters didn't even notice her. Maybe, she thought, just maybe if I remain unnoticed, I can win this stupid thing.
Later she was led with the others to the train station. She had no family or friends to say goodbye to so she just stood around sizing up her soon-to-be opponents and then she boarded the train. For once in her life she was lonely. She looked out the windows to see many people crying. She saw a little girl clinging to one of the contestents who must be her sister. Then she remembered, that was Lori and Crissy. She sighed. It must be nice to have a family... She leaned back and closed her eyes. It seemed that only moments later the train was moving and she felt herself fill with despair.
At the training grounds Adalay got a better look at her competitors. A few of them looked like easy kills. And that one girl, the one that jumped off the climbing station. She shouldn't be much of a challenge, but she probably would end up being harder to kill than the others. Adalay walked over to the climbing station and climbed to the top faster than the girl before her did. She did an impressive flip off the top, landing perfectly with her bow and arrow ready, pointing at the girl. Of course it was only training so she lowered her weapon and walked away.
