Dane Vogel's Story

Dane Vogel nodded as he headed towards the door, holding it open for the woman to head out before he did, and as they made their way down the two RDA Mercenaries would be waiting in the lobby, as they have for the duration of the deal. Vogel was quiet for a moment before he made a subtle hand gesture, the Mercenary walked out only to return several moments later with a tray of ice cold Ambrosia, and two frosted glasses.

After a moment, the drink was poured and handed off, the smell of anise and licorice permeated the air.

"Soha, to our companies fortune, and to our future." He said, holding up his glass, and proposing a toast.

"Let the two of us, exploit the less fortunate for our own gain." He said quietly before clinking the glasses and drinking.

"I will drop by tonight, I eagerly await our rendezvous."

Dane Vogel is here waiting.

Dane Vogel was standing on a distant guard tower watching over a throng of protesting workers, most of them were native africans, with a few Arabs thrown in from the ravaged Middle east in hopes of attaining a good job and wage, they too were likely protesting. Of course there was a group of RDA mercenaries, technicals and other Tech Con security vehicles protecting the main compound, with the protests in their native languages, Vogel and his men could likely not be able to understand it, silently he shook his head. "Monkeys should be taught their place." He said, stroking his chin. "I wonder where Alfarsi is, she was supposed to be here by now, perhaps she is running late." He said to himself, as a Tech Con adjutant approached.

"We need to be mindful of Hataf and Al Qaeda operating in the area." He said calmly, and Vogel scoffed. "Two bit terrorists are no match for Tech Con."

Dane Vogel shook his head. "They're demanding increased wages, you know? Giving these monkeys a job is a favor... I could have U-87 units replace them tomorrow with an increased work production, all these schmucks would be out of a job tomorrow." He scoffed, before he turned to Soha.

"Aschen Technology? With the Moratorium on trade with lesser-advanced worlds, how did Hataf acquire the Technology?" He said, tilting his head. "Even Tech Con has to check in all weapons that we ship from Langara, it's to prevent situations like this from happening..." He said, turning back to the protesters. "Do you know anything about Hataf's plans for Tech Con?" He said, looking down to the growing crowd below them.

Dane Vogel clenched his teeth. "I give them food, shelter, security, they live in gated communities patrolled by the RDA, they have quarters provided for them, I Pay them in tokens they can use to purchase goods from any Tech Con owned store, they are posh, they have medical care, dental care, vision care, and they demand more pay? They are insolent, and they are demanding little shits, I should run them all off of my property... they think that they need to be paid real money, since when do monkeys need money?" He said, turning to face Soha. "They don't like it, they can work somewhere else." He added, and then he got on the topic of Drulovic.

"That witch, she's worse than George and that bitch, Angel."

Dane Vogel smiled, then she turned to Soha. "I am thinking, debating on having them all shot, but that would constitute murder, wouldn't it, and that would be quite a few bodies to bury, no, I'll disperse the protest and have my linguist translate a newsletter, they can enjoy their jobs or be replaced by Machines... and they can't cite Terran law, I don't recall reading anywhere that paying these monkeys in Tokens was illegal, I can't very well pay them in Cubits, that'd be too much... do you know what they are chanting?" He asked, facing Soha, so the light would give his face a contrast, as a warm breeze blew through them.

"What would you prefer if you were them? Toiling away for some warlord in a Diamond mine, or living a relatively comfortable life working for Tech Con?"

Dane Vogel watched as the RDA got the order to disperse the protests, slinging brilliant red clouds of gas into the crowds, causing them to run in all directions as the RDA mercenaries went to work apprehending the apparent leader. "When Tech Con sees someone they don't like, we like to take them and... educate them, that man... when the riot disperses and he is apprehended, will be dealt with in a civil manner, I can assure you he won't be organizing anymore protests." He added, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Any help would be much appreciated, I've already had my developers back off on some of the land, the profits we'll rake in will be... at least five-hundred-ex." He said, nodding.

Dane Vogel chuckled. "Be assured that if her developments were to interfere with Tech Con's profits, that I have some powerful friends, perhaps it would be an excellent example of social justice to have the Aschen Government pressure the Ministry into backing down, it's strange really." He said, keeping his eyes on hers.

"Ed Cranford talks a very big talk, but shrinks at the prospect of the Aschen Military showing up to flex their muscle, or is it that Witch Drulovic? I have it on very good authority that she gave up Kendra to the Gemonese simply to keep them from Glassing the planet." He said, laughing, then he continued on his tangent.

"Oh! And let's not forget the bending over ol' miss Drulovic did for the Taiyou.. to be honest, I don't even know why the Taiyou showed up, but obviously something pissed the Emperor off."

Dane Vogel smiled. "And the cogs and the wheels keep on turning.. do what you have to do to keep the ball rolling, because the more we keep these workers out here under our thumb, the more money we can make, because we both know it costs money and resources to fabricate machinery to work in the mines, and to develop the landscape." He said, seeing that the next shift of workers were working on building a large shipyard in the distance.

"I got contracted from the Aschen Government to build something." He then directed Soha's attention to the massive ship-scaffolding in the distance. "The Reverence II, Twilight Compunction, is going to be built, here on Terra."

Dane Vogel is present.

Dane Vogel tapped his pen as he sat quietly at an adjacent table to the other happenings of the bar. He was going over some paperwork, with a frosted glass of ambrosia sitting besides him on the bar table. Vogel eyed Aerilyn and Havok for a moment, before his gaze settled back on the papers before him. Finance reports, which were detailing Tech Con's contributions and profiting from the Aschen war effort. Turning a page, Vogel made a face, before looking up at an armor clad Tech Con mercenary, who passed off a glass to the CEO, a full glass of Ambrosia.
