a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Coloratura

Description

"Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memory." - Oscar Wilde

Image

Appearance:
Medium height with a slender figure that looks best by candleight,
In which her shadow seems to move independently of its own body at times.
She looks about nineteen or twenty though her age in reality is much more than that.

Her face is framed by long pale blonde hair with a loose wavy curl to it
usually falling softly down her back or shoulders.
Skin as white as a fresh corpse with high rosy cheek bones and
Her eyes are orbs of crystal blue bordered by long, ebony lashes.

Fleur is often dressed mid 1700s garb or other types of antiquated clothing but
at performances she wears modern style gowns or costumes assigned to her.
Fleur has full Rose pink lips and white teeth showing two small fangs on each side,
which seem to be able to retract further outwards as in their usual state her fangs are barely larger than a humans canines.

General information:
She is quite skilled in the arts of conversation, and charming for a blood sucking monster.
Fleur is very proud to have a beautiful soprano singing voice that was nurtured with years of training in classical music.

Voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCU7YyTtX4A

Fleur can charm her way out of many situations, or rather lure others in so she might feed.
Miss Leveque really never eats regular food which is probably why she has killed so many though
she will be seen drinking tea or water if at a cafe or bar.
Fleur would catch fire and burn to death if in direct sunlight
however, she can be out in the day for small amounts of time,
if she is cloaked, wearing protective eyeglasses, and carrying a parasol.
She can be out with simply a cloak and possibly eyewear if it is an overcast day.
She will become terribly sick and weak if presented with Garlic or Wolfsbane.

Fleur is a renown classical singer in france though she had to leave as people in the world of classical music
were starting to wonder why it had been so long and she never seemed to age,
She easily hides her condition if singing on a great stage although,
in person it can possibly be detected if one were to make her laugh or beam a great smile.

Fleur grows extremely weak if she has not had her fix of fresh blood in atleast a day,
often suffering from debilitating headaches and
her body will wither away and die or go comatose,
if she does not feed for more than two weeks.
Fleur would also fall ill or even die if she were to
drink the blood of a dead human or animal.

Personality

Personality:
Miss Leveque is obsessed with music and performance, to a point that would be considered unhealthy.
She pours over her music very late into her waking hours and to learn a new musical composition or aria to sing or play is the greatest joy of her life.

She goes from being a reckless romantic to a narccisstic fatalist depending on the year.
When Fleur is feeling hungry she will not hesitate to kill, human blood, ofcourse allows this vampire her unnaturally long life, which she devotes wholly to the arts.

She struggles with guilt and this causes her to lash out occasionally,
and the concept of forgiveness is something she battles with, Fleur feels that the wrongs she has and continues to perpetrate against the human race can mended as time goes by, as long as she is always presenting them with beautiful performance of music, compostion, and other works of art.
She is often somewhat vacant and unreachable, lost in her wild inner thoughts and theories on every corner of the universe.

Fleur is cunning and motivated in many tasks she pursues,
especially those pertaining to her singing,
she always wants to be better than the one before her and
often seeks out situations that put her in the spotlight,
having somewhat of an addiction to musical fame.

The celebrity status she often enjoys and the limelight upon her is how she connects with the great mass of mortals,
without being near humans physically and knowing she may harm or kill them due to her bloodlust.

Around large groups she is very calm and serene, despite being a tempest of thoughts and ideas on the inside.
She enjoys being around other Vampires and immortal beings, if not simply because she can speak with those who often creatively on her level and might possess the same amount of theories and curiosities on the creative schools of thought and many other things Fleur enjoys obsessing over.
However very few match her zeal for music that is almost religious in nature.

Equipment

A small purse with a coin bag, a silver mirror, some Jasmine perfume.
And she is often seen with a book of sheet music.

History

Fluer Cecille Leveque was raised in the late 1700s, Living just outside of Bourdeaux France,
on the small estate of her wealthy merchant family who were determined to raise her up in the fashion that was what they deemed "Appropriée pour une jeune femme" Or fit for a young lady.
She did not go to school to learn academic subjects, rather she had many private tutors in classical singing,
etiquette of the day, conversation, proper french diction and foreign language.

She also had a teacher for ballroom and ballet dance,
along with yet another for piano and harp, which she excelled at though never more so than her vocal abilities.

Being raised a female in the late 1700s she was not taught mathematics or anything having to do with science or the natural world
but has taught herself a great deal of this information in the span of her immortality,
and is often reading and attending lectures to broaden her knowledge of the world.

She was complacently happy her life of stiff luxury and was even quite overjoyed at the prospect of an arranged marriage to a Spanish nobleman,
whom she had never met, she simply felt very lucky and honored to be bringing a title into the family.
A few months before her twentieth birthday, this wedding was to occur,
Ofcourse she had a lavish wedding gown tailored and the ceramony would take place at a large Church in Paris.

However, Fleur began to have doubts, when told that she would cease her musical training when she married.
Despite knowing she could never be a performer,
whenever the young frenchwoman went to the Opera in Paris or Bourdeax she would envision herself as the leady soprano,
singing a rueful aria through tears or soaring through notes of a coloratura passage with joy.

Someone in her life must have known this very deep secret of hers,
as she visited on the night of her wedding.
To this day Fleur has very little recollection of the incident,
only knowing that the stranger was a male
and he must have fed her his blood and
bitten her, leaving a string of pearls to cover the bites and
taken a ribbon that had kept her hair in a braid that night.
He also left a thin book of sheet music,
containing one aria composed for her soaring soprano voice,
seemingly an original, that must have been written by the intruder.

Fleur was found dead the next morning with two little wounds on the side of her pale neck.
After only a few hours of being given to the undertaker in preperation for a funeral,
her body disappeared in the night,
leaving no trace of her.

Fluer had awakened as a Vampire, and would not return home.
So, she travelled and went to live abroad in Italy to continue studying voice,
and take the stage singing at the well respected Theatro La Fenice,
after atleast fifty years the young lady went back to France...to become a famous Soprano there as well,
performing at the famous Palais Garnier or Opera de Paris.
Then, as one could infer, because Fleur did not lie low, once more putting herself in the limelight,
she had to leave again after suspicion rose against the Opera star who never seemed to age.

So begins...

Wing City Plaza was busy, as usual. Citizens milled about their business, talking and walking and doing as they did. Not a thing was out of place, except for one thing in particular. But what was it? There was something very off about Wing City Plaza indeed. Something about to be brought to attention once more.

A news van lurched onto the scene, perhaps a bit behind schedule but who was there to care? If you asked any of the individuals inside the van they would all answer diferently, most likely, but the answer of one would ring true. Terra was there to care.

As usual, the dark marked van barreled over a curb. Doors flung open before the thing was stopped, side door sliding haphazardly this way and that as the vehicle settled in it's spot. From ther a cameraman all but tumbled, aiming the device around the plaza and calibrating knobs.

There it would be anchored, satellites unfolding smoothly from the roof, Terracast logo shining. With a shake of her sleekened hair, Winne Rineswurth cast her dark gaze on the anomaly.

It was nothing like she, or anyone else in this city no doubt had ever seen. It was something mystical, magical and strange. Her eyes glittered at the thought of Claire Wilder's reaction to her covering of this story. It was a headliner, for sure. The cameraman was spot on, hovering around Winne and ready to shoot. She walked to the perimeter of the scene.

"This is Winne Rineswurth, reporting live from Wing City Plaza.

It was here a large detonation seemingly occurered, leaving behind or perhaps unveiling...This.

A magical anomoly, appearing to be some kind of warp in space time perhaps, has happened across Wing City Plaza. It is unknown at this time if any have ventured in to the strange thing.

Where did this come from, and where does it lead?
This is Winne Rineswuth with Terracast, stay tuned!
"

Winne grinned at the camera, giving a wink on her sign off and all but exploding with happiness. Voice of the Year was hers!

Fleur grinned and shook her head “Not at all, I get more odd looks when I come alone. When they had finished eating Fleur looked around “Would you like to get out of here before the dancing starts?” Fleur didn’t feel like being carted out to dance by everyone there, as was often the situation for her at after parties, when staring in an Opera. Bubbling golden liquid was poured into their champagne flutes and people where toasting all around the table, Fleur moved to do the same a few times, and then settled back into her seat to drink her champagne.

“Where to?” she asked arching an eyebrow slightly. Fleur pressed down her sapphire evening gown slightly, the satiny fabric having creased ever so slightly when she sat down. Fleur was not extremely familiar with Wing City only having visited once or twice before. “I’d love to hear you play once we have taken our leave.”

Fleur clasped her hands together with enthusiasm “Let’s get out of the city!” She jumped right up from her seat and bid those left at the table goodbye. She held out her hand for him to take in case he needed some help. Her hair with all its little diamond pins seemed to shimmer and glow in the light of a crystal chandelier that hung above them. “Is that alright?”

“We can drive for a little and find a spot that is reminiscent of an impressionist painting, and then I’ll ask that you play me that song.” She said this with a playful smirk and light, airy, laugh that had been painting her face for much of the night, if he had seen her a few years ago she would have held a much different air about her, with a more serious countenance, but Flours demeanor was very prone to change, and extremely influenced by the type of music being produced and listened to by her.

Fleur led Noten to the door and asked the valet to bring her car around, he opened the doors for both of them and handed Fleur the key. She stepped into the shiny black thing and put the key in the ignition, the rumbling of an old engine starting up could be heard, it was a beautiful car but even the vision impaired would be able to tell it was vintage or even antique. The tape player switched on once more and continued to play

Fleur’s car seemed to be moving extremely fast for as soon as they got out of Wing Cities traffic they traveled very, very quickly from the highway and off onto a smaller one lane road. Despite this there was no lurching movement usually associated with going miles upon miles over the speed limit, the ride was quite smooth, but one could be sure they were going almost 100 Mph.
Some very odd sounding indie folk music was floating from the cassette player, a sudden change from the very spring-like flute music. It was , for that moment, a blessing that Noten was blind as he might of jumped out of his skin with fright as Fleur let her fingers slip from the wheel and her eyes close as she sank into the lyrics of the melancholy tune. The song sounded as if it had been recorded in some little coffee house, but she loved it, it spoke to her. Soon enough the cars wheels where going into the dew-covered grass on the side of the country road.

Fleur noticed something slightly amiss with the position of her vehicle and sharply turned the wheel to get them back on the road, she wasn’t sure if Noten had noticed or not so she made no mention of it, finally they reached a dirt path and she parked the car. “Shall we walk from here? “ She said, getting out and opening Noten’s door for him. The little pathway was surrounded by very tall trees covered with leaves and brush, the tiny dew drops upon them shining like emeralds in the moonlight. The moist earth made a soft swiping sound with every step they took and the air was warm with a slightly cool breeze passing by them every so often.

It was becoming increasingly late, one could be sure it was at least a bit past midnight, and there were Nightingales fluttering about in the treetops, singing their fast pasted and high pitched melodies and Noten and Fleur stepped slowly past the trees they called their homes. The forest was a symphony of its own that night with the wind weaving through leafy branches, birds twittering all around them, and the crunch of earth below their feet. Fleur wondered, as Noten said he had not been born blind, how he had become that way and if he missed his sight at all. Fleur would stop occasionally to admire the sight and scent of flowers that caught her eye and sometimes just to stare up at the tapestry of stars that coated the sky. She sighed in delight and said to him gently “Can you picture it?”

After walking for a short while they came to a little well secluded valley, dotted with little daises and other wild flowers. As they stepped into its view a doe and some fawns stared for a moment and then quickly bounded away, kicking up dirt in their paths. Fleur chuckled quietly at this “Darling creatures…” The sound of a gurgling stream could be heard not very far off from where they stood and the wind rustles the grass causing the green stalks to bend low with every small gust. “Would you play for me now?”

The cameraman lurked by the van, trading files with the tech crew and discussing angles and shots.

Fleur relaxed in the grass, lying on her back with arms outstretched at her side. Her large blue eyes were closed and the long lashes that framed them where brushing her high, rose colored, cheeks. The scent of the grass and the night air filled her nose and she smiled at the smell of the night air combined with Noten’s simple but lovely song. She mused on it when he was done playing “That was a delight, I have not heard that particular melody before, did you write it yourself?”

"Im impressed, Noten, that you improvised that so flawlessly." She gave him a minature applause and beaned "So there is musical talent in the modern world after all!" The classical singer seemed to be in even higher spirits after the little performance, she lifted her head quickly when she heard someone approaching. Fleur, obviously switching back into prim and proper mode, stode right up and curtseyed to the new comer, the satin fabric of her long sapphire evening gown swooshing about as she stood and the diamond pins in her long loose blonde curls glittering against pale moonlight.
“Bonsoir, It is an absolute pleasure to meet another who enjoys the company of Nightingales and wild flowers.” She extended a demure, snow colored hand. “My name is Fleur Cecille Leveque, but please address me as Fleur, simply.”

There was a distant rumbling sound echoing in the distance, which gradually began to increase in both volume and distance. The rumbling reached a fever pitch, precipitating into a deafening boom, and a brilliant flash of light while a shape of some kind could be made out in the distance.

The shape, engulfed in flames approached in the skies above the glen and the surrounding forest, chunks of debris coming off the larger shape as it drew closer.

Suddenly, the shape, which could now be identified as an Aschen Reverence I Class Planetary assault carrier, tattered and marred with scorched pocks in it's hull, now was passing directly over them. The heat from the ship caused trees and other foliage to suddenly combust into flames, while above a trail of thick black smoke was left above them.

The ship passed over them, crashing in the near distance with a deafening crash and crumbling sound, a shock-wave of hot air washing over the Glen and splintering trees and causing a cacophony of panicked animals to erupt. The crackling of flames was all that could be heard once everything reached a head.

Fleur looked incredibly startled for a moment, and ducked down at the noise. She attempted to collect herself using sarcasm “Ah, more lovely newcomers…” She got up on one knee to look around but she had to pull herself down once more as the flaming hunk of metal came rushing towards them. She put her body low to the ground as the hot air passed over, and shut her eyes tight, with pale hands over her ears, having heightened hearing was of no advantage in the current situation.

The black smoke reminded her of the awful scent that emanated from steel mills and factories. By now she was coated in shadowy dust that had been in the smoke or risen from the ground in all of the commotion. She muttered to herself , while gasping for air in the confusion “I shall not like to visit Wing City again if this is the typical conclusion of one’s walk through a forest in this area…”

Smoke and flame continued to plume high above the wreckage, and upon closer investigation. The hulking three mile long mass of warship lay dead, beaten and bloodied with a marred hull and towering flames. The stench of charred bodies filled the area, as charred bodies actually littered the area. Almost everyone was dead, save for a handful of pained moans from what unlucky survivors dotted the area.

One of the main emergency escape hatches moved after a moment, with the crumbling of fatigued metal it swung open and a battered, bloodied but alive woman stumbled out from the wreckage of the massive ship.

She stared into the sky for a moment, wiping blood soot and sweat from her brow. Clenched in her right hand was a strange weapon, being in the right place at the right time, this unfortunate woman was the only survivor.

She didn't say anything, she only let out a pained moan before she collapsed face first into the charred soil.

“Oh Mon dieu…” Fleur muttered a she heard the moans around her , it was a truly horrifying and sad sound, human beings in pain. But instead of calling out to anyone she stayed low to the ground and scanned the area with ice blue eyes, surveying the damage done to The Glen’s wildlife. Her heart dropped, wildflowers burnt to a crisp, the tips of every blade of grass blackened and burned from the heat. The trees where now broken and silent, not a bird in the sky now darkened with smoke. It wasn’t exactly a picturesque scene.

Fleur wiped her brow with the back of her hand and blinked soot from her long eyelashes. Her satin evening gown was now covered in dirt and grass stains. The Frenchwoman could smell the metallic scent of blood and flesh in the air and looked at the battered woman near them. “Is she burnt or bleeding?”
Fleur paused a moment "Both..?"
