Places of interest:
06 - Mossdeep Space Center: Scientists work day and night to make sure that the rockets take off and land without a hitch. Instead of wishing on a star, the staff members have placed a white rock at the base of the hill as their hope that their craft do not suffer any major malfunctions. They also document astronomical events like the rare Litleonid meteor shower. Because of Mossdeep's stable weather patterns, this location was chosen for launching spacecraft, making it a natural place for the Ruulan Voyagers to call home...if such a thing exists for them. The Voyagers also double as a security force, as the facility's sophisticated technology makes it a natural target for criminals.
07 - Route 125: Out here are a number of Trainers to fight, some secret bases to find, and the Shoal Cave, where depending on the tides you can Surf around on the surface or climb down to explore its chilly lower floors. Some Pokรฉmon in the region have only ever been found here.
01, 10, 11 - Steven Stone's House: Part of the Steel user's impressive rock collection from all over the world can be found here. No surprise, then, that he's related to the president of the Devon Corporation. If you're lucky, you might even run into the man yourself.
Between 04 and 09 - Mossdeep City Gym: Unique among the Gyms on Ruula, this facility specializes in offering Double Battles against unpredictable Psychic-types as challengers vie for the Mind Badge!
Heywood watched from the observatory as preparations were being made for a new craft, meant for the Voyagers to fulfill their mission. Rumors had it that Champion Iris herself would be on hand to christen the vessel, so the normally peaceful island was jam-packed with visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of the chocolate colored dynamo in a flowing pink gown. Of course, it was quite likely that this was just something someone made up to drive attendance, but the island was making a mint off of the possibility.
"Easy, boy," Heywood said to his Weavile, giving it a few head scratches. "The people know what they're doing."
"--Wow! I wonder if all these people are here to see the new ship too." Iris remarked, slowly surveying the area. Hopefully this place wouldn't be too hard to navigate...
"Champion Iris. It is a privilege and an honor to finally meet you in person. It seems I should give a few words before you give this vessel your blessing." He coughed a few times, definitely showing his advanced age, but carefully tapped the microphone.
"Is...is this thing on? I'm not too good with this sort of advanced technology. Yes, hello, everyone out there. After months of intense research and development, Ruula is finally ready to explore the many worlds beyond with the help of this state of the art space rocket. You know we're no stranger to firing off big hunks of metal beyond the skies, but this is the first time we've endeavored to bring a live passenger along for the ride. As with any experimental technology, there will likely be unforeseen complications, and I may very well be stepping into my own coffin when I embark on this journey. Whatever the outcome, let the data gleaned from this grand experiment spur us forever onward in our mission to meet our neighbors on a more...mutually agreeable field."
He took the microphone off his stand and make sure to bend at the knees when offering it to the much smaller Iris. It was her turn to speak, an essential tradition of statecraft. Still, there was an unrest in the crowd as some wondered about the fate of the other girl.
She was wearing simple fare, a pair of jeans, and a dark colored tank, chosen to blend in with the regulars of the planet, she had even coopted some pokeballs, although they were simply for show, since Kuribayashi possessed no Pokemon.
"With our luck, that rocket will hit the damn battleship." She muttered to herself, while struggling through the crowd to get a better view.
"Package is in view, overwatch you have a bead?" Kuribayashi cybercommed out, while her eyes narrowed to get a better view. Iris seemed much smaller in person than she did in the training seminars. It all didn't matter, though. Kuribayashi was here to do a job, and that job demanded the utmost professionalism, despite the short tempered nature of the Umibozu operator.
The Sogeki-hei was suspended from his grapple, securely fixed in place on the roof, and cloaked just as he was, and had been for the last thirteen and a half hours. The Umibozu responded swiftly, and the moment news of a potential launch had reached their ears the hunt was on, Miyano's job being that of the eyes of his unit. His cybernetic augments, and previous experience had put him on a short list for the job, and he intended to prove why. Carefully he moved, gently guiding the obsidian barrel of the massive SR4000AMR to its final resting place with mathmatical accuracy.
Thanks to neuro-connective cables running from the stock of the weapon, to the base of the Sogeki-hei's skull, it connected directly to his mind and mostly synthetic body. This enabled him to not only move it as a true extension of himself, but allow the targeting software in both of his uniquely built eyes to guide it up to the max range of 10kms. Perhaps most importantly, being digital information, this meant the raw feed of both eyes was transmitting a steady and secure live stream to the others.
"Package has handed off unknown entity," he remarked dully, crosshair never straying from Iris' forehead. "
