Maxim Heath made a very clear beeline toward the space port. He was hoping to find his crew inside of his ship. Of course, they were probably running about being who they were. Especially given the terrain. Maybe the found the grounds to be like a hunting site to conquer and take over. However, that would be unwise. Established ecosystems should never be interrupted unreasonably or without a compensation or greater cause. Simple things this, but not always well understood. Even by himself.
That said, being a emrcernary taught him to be ruthless. So he was. Despite codes of conduct or ethics, he was ruthless sometimes and disruptive. Uncaring.
"Ugh, better not remind myself of such things. Better Focus...that competition was a clear indicator that I need to stay relaxed and have become rusty in retirement."
He knew his skills, but he was also very clearly aware that at any given time, things can go south for any one person. Not being prepare can lead to a live man being less than living. So, better ditch the gun at some point, stick to his trusted weaponry.
