Ludovic took the map from Midora, though he knows that the demon just reluctantly did that. "Way ahead of yah' old man I got this," the demon said with a teasing tone, "Way ahead of yah' old man I got this. I gotta get some new students and take em' to Zita first, if that's alright with you, boss? Then I'll get onto my group. I'm certainly-certain they're still alive, somewhere."

Midora listened to his collegue. Then he responsed, "Just keep yourself out of trouble. Well, have fun I guess. You'll make a good example for those kids, I think. Guess I'll see you around sometimes."

With a lighthearted grin and wave the demon took his leave just then, "Now, you take it easy, yah' hear?" Midora looked on as Ludovic got away from the Academy to his group. He sighed with a facepalm. Midora felt like he was working with a kid. A gigantic kid, to be exact. But when he came to think about it, he finds that working with the demon was pretty interesting, actually. Midora's lips then raised a bit, forming a very soft smile, which was unusual. Though he didn't admit it, he found that it is fun to work with such strong collegues. After all, he still respect them despite all of their differences. Even if they might think that he was a grumpy person. Well, he is the oldest person around here, isn't it? He has went through a lot and his past helps him to be the person that he is now today.

Midora shrugged and then carried his stuffs back to his room. But suddenly, an uneasy feeling washed over him, as if he just felt something that he hasn't felt for a long while and he don't want to feel that again. Midora frowned. Could it be...? He stood still and tried to concentrate to find the energy's source, but after a while, the feeling was gone. Maybe it just in my mind. Midora shook his head and went into his room. He is hoping that he'd be wrong this time, or else he'll have even more trouble to deal with today and he don't want to waste anymore single drop of magic today.

He put the bag onto the counter in his kitchen. Well, the kitchen in his room technically is just a small ones for some small preparation, but he can still use it for cooking. Yeah, Midora can always eat at the cafeteria if he wanted to, and he didn't say that it was terrible. Still, he enjoys the food that he cooks for himself more since it reminds him back to when he was still living an innocent life back then. He puts out the ingredient and rolled up his sleeve. After a while, he makes some sushi, salad and some other food then put them all in two bento boxes.

"That's should do it", Midora said as he put the cover for the boxes. Then he closed his eyes and held his palm onto one box and enhanced a restoration spell into the food inside it. He was going to give it to Kou so that she could restore her energy more quickly. Midora put the boxes to the table, he was going to give it to her later. He didn't remember since when that he began to care for the other people that much. Back then, all he cares about is fulfilling missions and all, but now, he felt like he has changed so much. I should go and find Kou. He thought and then makes his way out.

But just as he was walking, he saw a white-haired girl. Midora realized that the girl was the mage from Ms. Weatherbee's group. So he walked to her, "Hey, are you lost? Where's your supervising teacher?"

Mao

Today was not a good day for a certain demon. He was quite tired from having stayed up late the other night for reasons unknown. Turning in bed the demon continued to do so grumbling to himself. Finally he ended up going over the edge and fell on the floor head first. His legs were still on the bed, rather tangled too in the blanket, while his arms were splayed about him to catch his fall. Mao glared up at the ceiling of his room, "Dammit. was his only word for the morning. The blacked hair fellow continued to glare at the ceiling until he released a sigh and turned his head to look for his clock. Opening his eyes just a crack they suddenly widened upon realizing the time. "Aw crap! I'm late!" Wiggling about Mao fell for the second time as he tried to get up forgetting that his legs were still tangled. "Tch come on."

Struggling to get the covers off his legs Mao finally tore them off and jumped up. Rushing over to his dressers he quickly got dressed in whatever clothes he could find, which consisted of a pair of black pants and an open jacket, and rushed out into the hallway still getting his shoes on. Making sure to brush his teeth and wash his face to wake him up Mao proceeded to find himself some food. Once he did so he ran to the classrooms some toast hanging from his mouth as he stuffed it down his throat. Upon reaching the classroom he noticed how empty it was save for one person. Aw man did I miss the class? Ma ain't gonna be happy. Under normal circumstances the young demon wouldn't have cared if he was late however it was his first day and he had promised his mother that he'd be there in time least he suffer the consequences.

Thinking further on that he shivered. Finishing his breakfast Mao brushed the crumbs away from his jacket and pants when he suddenly remember about his hair. The mop of black strands was all over the place he started to chuckle to himself as he began to comb through it with his fingers in hopes of taming it. As always his bangs stuck out from the side of his face but he got most if not all of his hair pulled back. Frowning Mao dug around in his pockets then he remembered the other person in the room. Turning to them he smiled, "Say you wouldn't happen to have some sort of hair tie on ya?" Mao stepped closer realizing the person he was talking to was male. Biting his lips Mao returned to digging in his pockets and then the pocket in his jacket and smiled in triumph. "Never mind kid I found one." With a grin Mao finished pulling his hair back in its trademark ponytail.

Now that his hands were free he clasped his hands together and brought his arms against the back of his head. "All that running made me tired~" yawning as he spoke. Turning to face the kid again Mao grinned, "So I'm guessing you were late then? How'd that happen?" His tone was teasing but it wasn't meant to offend. After they conversed a bit another fellow entered the room, "Mao and Heikichi, right?" Turning on his heel Mao did a goofy bow, "Yessire~ I am Mao." The demon made a motion with his hands and Mao assumed they were to follow him and thus they did leaving the academy halls to some other place. Looking around Mao cracked one eye open to take a look at everything around him.

Smiling to himself Mao then saw a female up ahead. They walked over to her and Mao quickly realized the red head knew her since he called her by name. Zita? What a funny name for such a pretty lady. From what he got of their short conversation Zita was their teacher. The red haired follow pushed the both of them forwards, not that Mai resisted, and he then left the trio. Rubbing the back of his head Mao wasn't quite sure what to do in this situation. Bringing his hand out he offered it to Zita, "Well I'm Mao if you're wondering." The young demon let out a small chuckle, rubbing his abs absentmindedly. As always Mao wore no shirt but he did have a jacket however he did not zip it up or bother keeping it close.

"I just... Have some things..." Kou nodded her head, silently sucking on her candy. She tucked the other one in her pocket because it seemed as though Akiko did not want it. "I know exactly how you feel," it was quiet for a moment before Akiko asked if Kou had, had any luck in finding food. "No, but I'd be happy to have a partner in my search." She stood to her full height and stretched, tucking her hands into the pockets of her jacket. "Would you like to come?" Kou inquired once more, wondering if Akiko hadn't heard the offer the first time.

"I have many regrets but if you let them take over your life you will never live freely." She remembered that Akiko had said it wasn't her intention to take away her's and Yuuto's will and for that Kou was thankful, but if the Mage was really this emotionally shaken then was there really going to be a way for her to keep the two demons in check? Kou's days of running rampant and killing for Hachiman were over, but Yuuto was a beast of a different color. She liked him, not in any romantic relationship kind of way, but enough that she could tolerate him.

As other groups fought viciously, attempting to take down the monsters that they had been assigned to destroy, a rather small demon still ran around the school's grounds, in a slight panic. "I am so late." he said, scurrying across the school's entrance and trying not to become distracted by the view. The school was rather marvelous, sitting over the town below like some ancient deity over a planet. The sky seemed especially blue, fat and puffy clouds scooting their way across the canvas behind them. If he had the time, he would have loved to sit down and draw them, but he didn't, which was why he was racing toward the entrance to the school. Despite its colossal appearance, it had proved quite difficult to find, or, at least, it had for him.

And now, he was slightly lost, having completely missed the wave of students that had headed into town. As he didn't know any different, his gut instinct took him to the classroom that everyone had left moments before. It was safe to say that Heikichi was slightly surprised to find it almost completely empty, aside from the presence of another boy whom he figured was his classmate. I mean, he looked about Heikichi's age, though he was quite a bit taller, and had much longer hair, so the guess that they were in similar boats wasn't too horribly hard to imagine. However, before Heikichi could think to say hello, the boy spoke. "Say you wouldn't happen to have some sort of hair tie on ya?" he asked, smiling rather brightly until he was struck with the realization that Heikichi was not female, nor had enough hair to need any devices that might have been useful in taming wild locks. Heikichi shook his head, as he was unable to be of help in this situation. "Never mind kid I found one... All that running made me tired." the stranger continued, his statement muffled by a yawn. Ah, so they really must've been in the same boat. The other student seemed to recognize this as well, questioning Heikichi on how he'd managed to arrive late.

Heikichi chuckled as he reminisced. "I managed to get lost. 'Never been too good with directions." He would have carried the conversation further, curious to the boy's name and what group he might have belonged to, or even where he might have thought the other students and teachers were. But, before he could do so, a being entered the room, one that Heikichi assumed was a teacher. He stood at a height far above either of the students before him, his hair a bright shade that resembled a setting sun.

"Mao and Heikichi, right?" the man asked before gesturing that they come along. The two boys did, following the man outside, quickly guided to a woman that Heikichi assumed was yet another teacher, her hair a startling shade of green. With the amount of colorful people on staff, he was positive that he'd find someone worth drawing. As the other teacher, ya know- the dude with the eye patch- left, he said something about arriving earlier next time so that they could participate in the school's activities. He wasn't too sure what it was that they had missed, but it sure sucked that they were behind.

Mao was not too hesitant to introduce himself to the woman, whom Heikichi was sure had been referred to as Zita. Once his group-mate had finished, the boy followed his example. "Ah, and I'd be Heikichi. Seems that we're a bit... fashionably late, perhaps?"

Adrianne watched as Kris struck the final blow on their enemy, the doppleganger. She sighed and sat down on the hard pavement. She wondered what they had to do now. She kept replaying the battle over and over in her head so she could scrounge every single little detail out of the situation and try to learn the most from the experience. She watched as Kris got attacked and figured out that that attack only seemed to work once, because the enemy also took considerable damage from the hit as well. She guessed it was some kind of give ad take spell, one that inflicted damage on the opponent but also inflicted damage on the user as well. The doppleganger probably knew about this, but used it to crush one of the opponents none the less. Adrianne made a note that if she came upon an enemy such as that one, she would make sure that if it used its power, then she would take it out by herself. She could do it, but she wasn't strong enough or confident enough yet. She couldn't actually kill something by herself until she got over her disliking of fighting. She heard Kris say something and then she heard something about Midora, one of the teachers.

She left immediately because there was a girl that needed medical attention and from what she could tell, Midora probably had some sort of healing ability. She rushed out of the area where their battle had ensued and sprinted in the direction she thought where the Academy was. Soon enough though, she got lost. She walked over to a nearby apothecary that sold some kind of medicinal herbs. She walked in and saw a lot of different plants and such. She saw an old lady sitting at what looked like a check-out register. "Hello ma'am. Can you direct me to the location of The Survival Kit Academy?" The old woman looked at her with her wrinkled face and grinned, she was missing a few teeth. "Only if you buy something." Adrianne sighed. "Fine then." She grabbed the closest plant, which looked something like a tulip. She carefully set the plant on the counter. "This one will do." She read the tag on the plant and put the money on the counter. "Now please tell me where the Survival Kit Academy is." The old woman counted the money slower than a turtle, which made Adrianne slightly irritated. The old woman looked up. "Very well. Walk in the opposite direction that you came in here from. Then make a left at the noodle seller on the corner a few streets down. Then just keep walking straight and you'll get there." She sighed. "Thank you. I'll be on my way now." She carried the plant out of the small shop and started walking in the direction of the school.

Just before she reached the corner where the noodle seller was, she heard someone call out to her. "Hey, are you lost? Where's your supervising teacher?" She turned around quickly and saw that it was one of the teachers from before. She smiled slightly. "Oh... My supervising teacher... She sent me to find a teacher named Midora. Do you happen to know where he is? There's a person that needs to be taken care of at the Academy."

When Midora asked, the girl turned her back and answered, yet Midora can feel a strong presence from someone else. Please don't tell me that is her. "Oh... My supervising teacher... She sent me to find a teacher named Midora. Do you happen to know where he is? There's a person that needs to be taken care of at the Academy."

Midora nodded, "I am Midora. Thanks for telling me, I'll be on my way. For now, please head back to the Academy and you should be able to find your room in the students' square. Curfew is almost here", Midora said to the girl and then walked to the direction of Ms. Weatherbee.

Suddenly, his phone was ringing, he grabbed it from his toga and answered. "Mikari?"

"Dora-chin, can you feel that too?", Mikari asked from the other side of the phone.

"Yeah, and I'm on my way", he then sighed, "I know that our feelings are often correct, but I really hope that this time it is wrong."

"I think so too. I haven't forgotten the feeling of a loser that day at her hand", Mikari said with a slightly angry voice, "just be careful, Dora-chin. If you need back up then call me and I'm with you."

"Thanks, but I can handle this. I will tell you if anything happened."

"Take care, Dora-chin", Mikari said and then turned off. Midora put away his phone and continued to make his way towards Ms. Weatherbee. He is ready for anything now. If anything else happened then again, it is him who'll stand up and fix them, as always. I feel like so many responsibilites are resting over my shoulder. He sighed. The people has began to cleared up after a long day and dusk is quickly approaching. All of the groups should be finished with the task by now. Better deal with this quickly.

After walking for a while, Midora could only feel that the presence is getting stronger and stronger, which means that he must be really close to her by now. And then, finally saw that Ms. Weatherbee was helping a girl with silver hair to walk back to the Academy. When seeing her, Midora couldn't be more surprise. He widen his eyes as memories from the past began to pouring back to him.

"Baron, stay away from that girl", Midora yelled as he called out black wind. They then formed into some sorts of black silk that flew towards the girl. They knocked Ms. Weatherbee to another side gently and wrapped around the girl's legs and arms and kept her floated on the ground. He teleported himself in front of the girl and looked into eyes her with a grip of anger in his eyes.

"So you're still alive? You pretty amazed me. Didn't I tell you never to follow me again? What are you up to this time?", Midora said coldly. He is pretty much trying his best not to lose his sanity right now.

ā€The past, present, and future walk into a barā€¦it was tenseā€

"Baron, stay away from that girl" Someone yelled. Looking up with blurry eyes , she spotted a man standing a few yards from herself and the woman holding her up. He called something dark and it pulled the woman holding her from her, and wrapped itself around her. The man teleported himself in front of her. Dark eyes peered into her pale blue ones. He looked so angry, as he stared into her eyes and she didnā€™t know what to do.

"So you're still alive? You pretty amazed me. Didn't I tell you never to follow me again? What are you up to this time?" The man said, seething anger and coldness in his voice. She didnā€™t understand why this man was so angry with her. She didnā€™t know anything about this man or why he hated her so much.

ā€œWhat? Who are you?ā€ She asked as she struggled against the bonds. She felt herself weakening, and darkness was taking the edges of her vision again.

"Better to fight and die for freedom than to be prisoner for the rest of your life"
"I have many regrets but if you let them take over your life you will never live freely." Kou said. Akiko frowned as she thought about it.

ā€œI suppose your rightā€¦ā€ She murmured as she stood and stretched. Her stomach rumbled loudly and she blushed and touched her stomach.

ā€œOkayā€¦foodā€ She said with a smile as she started in the direction she assumed the kitchen would be, hoping Kou would follow. She needed to connect with someone, and she hoped she could connect with her teammate. She spotted a sign for the kitchen and followed it.

Kou stood and followed Akiko as the female seemed to know which direction the dining room was in. She spotted the sign directing them towards the kitchen and wondered how she had missed that. Perhaps her mind had been so preoccupied by the little things that she hadn't seen something so big?

Or maybe it was because she had sensed someone in distress? Whatever the reason Kou was prepared to eat something that wasn't jail food or raw animals.

"So what do you think of the school so far?" The demon questioned the mage.

ā€œWhat? Who are you?ā€, the girl asked as if she doesn't know anything about Midora, which angered him even more. He looked right at her in the eyes. "Are you playing with me? What happened to the person who used to want to fight to the death with me? Now tell me what exactly are you going to do here right now or I'll end your miserable life right here", he said as a dark orb appeared on his hand.

Midora has never been so enraged like this in a long while, maybe it is because too many things are pouring back to his mind. But when he read the girl's look, he was surprised when he found out that there was no lie in her words. The girl seemed to have totally forgot about everything. Somehow, Midora snapped back to his mind, he looked at the orb on his arm and then turned to Ms. Weatherbee next to them and finally the girl who has fainted because of the trauma. Weird, did something happen to her? Right now Midora know he has to retain his bloodlust, he don't want to be the monster that he used to be anymore.

He swung his arm and everything tied the girl up was loosen and he caught the girl in his arm as she fainted. Even though Midora can't forgive her for what she's done to him in the past, but it doesn't look like she's going to cause any harm for now. He then turned to Ms. Weatherbee, "Sorry for the outrage earlier. Let just say that I know this girl and we don't have a very good history together", he said as he put his palm on the girl's chest, "I can heal her up a bit by chanelling some of my energy to her so that she wouldn't be too exhausted which might harm her life in a state like this, but I'm not a White Mage so I can't restore her. We need to take her to the nursery back in the Academy where she can be treated. Okay, here's goes."

Midora closed his eyes as a light appeared on his palm as streams of energy began to flowing throughout the girl's body. After he think he has channeled enough energy, he put her on his back and carry her. "Let's go", Midora said and they returned to the Academy. On their way, Midora was thinking about how the girl appeared and wondering why she doesn't remember anything. And he decided it'd be for the best to let her enroll in the Academy, as the girl probably don't have anywhere to stay.

When they've reached the entrance, Midora turned to Ms. Weatherbee, "Baron, if I remember than your group is still have an empty spot for a demon, right? So I think you should go and ask Iris to let this girl here to enroll and be put in your group. I will explain why later, but I have to carry her to the nursery first. Go now."

With that, Midora turned into a different path and went straight to the nursery. On his way, he came across with Akiko and Kou. "Oh, I was looking for you, Kou", he stopped and said to Kou, the girl is still resting on Midora's shoulder, though she's stirring a bit, "about 30 minutes later, come to the garden and meet me there, and don't eat anything before that, okay? See you later."

He then continued to walk through a couple of halls. A few moments later, he reached the nursery. He asked the doctor there to treat her and laid her down onto a bed. He swept a drop of sweat on his forehead. So many things have happened today and Midora was hoping that that is it for today.

"So, who is this girl?", the doctor asked while checking the girl, "I don't remember that she's in the new batch of students."

"Don't worry about that", Midora answered, "so, I channeled some of my energy to sustain her a bit earlier but it seems that she's wounded."

"Ah yes, it looks as if she was being chased by someone and got beaten up", the doctor diagnosed, "the wound is not too lethal so I should be able to heal her. Thanks, Mr. Kurayami, I will take care from here and when she woke up, I'll tell you."

"Thanks, doc", Midora replied and went back to his room. He still has a meeting with Kou coming up and he has to tell Mikari about this.

Unconsciousness was an obscure enigmatic stranger to the girl. She found it unsettling, especially when the flashing images startedā€¦.like an old movie playing behind her eye lids, that she had no choice but to watch. At first she dreamed of floating in warmth. Images floated around her.

She was being held gently. Arms encircled her, and she felt at peace though she could not see who was holding her. Whoever it was smelled of the changing of the seasonsā€¦like rich earthā€¦.and then the dream changed. People ran and screamed in terror, and fire engulfed everything.

She walked the streets with no control of her body, cutting down the people who ran past her. No one would survive. They all would burn in hell for what they had done. Blood soaked her hands and splashed across her face. She didnā€™t understand why she was so angry, why she was wreaking havoc on these people. She tried to scream and stop it from happening but it was like she was like she was a puppet.

Abruptly she woke, sweat pouring over her. He stood next to her, smiling down gently.

ā€œWhere am I?ā€ she asked her voice slightly raspy. She sat up and winced. She still hurt though she felt a million times better.

ā€œSurvival Kit Academy in the infirmary child, Iā€™m the doctorā€ He said as he handed her some water. She sipped it delicately.

ā€œWhy am Iā€”Ohā€ She started to say but then remembered the trouble she got into earlier that day.

ā€œQuite a beating someone gave you miss---?ā€ He said trailing off and waiting for her to fill in her nameā€¦but she didnā€™t have oneā€¦or if she did she couldnā€™t recall itā€¦she couldnā€™t recall anything.

ā€œUhmā€¦Iā€¦I donā€™t remember my nameā€¦.or anything short of this morning that isā€¦.ā€ She said slightly embarrassed. She tried to think back but only succeeded in giving herself a stabbing headache.

ā€œtraumatic amnesiaā€¦very unusual in demons.ā€ The doctor mused to himself.
Demon? Was that she was? It would explain her earlier show of powers.

ā€œWell my dear, what would you like to be called?ā€ He asked as he snapped out of his train of though.

ā€œI..Iā€¦donā€™t know?ā€ She said quietly as she felt tears sting her eyes. She had nothingā€¦not even a nameā€¦and people seemed to hate her before she even opened her mouth. What was she going to do? The only memories she had was the street she woke up on.

ā€œCalm down childā€¦Think of this as a chance to restartā€¦Breath. It will all work out for the best.ā€ The doctor said with a reassuring smile.

ā€œLizabelleā€¦call me Lizabelleā€ She said suddenly. The name felt right. She scrounged up a small sadness tinged smile for the doctor before he left her alone in the infirmary to get the headmistress.

Akiko

Image

Akikoā€™s answer to Kouā€™s question was interrupted by Midora reminding her about the meeting Kou and him had tonight at the garden. In Akikoā€™s opinion it didnā€™t seem very appropriate for their teacher to be meeting Kou that late at night aloneā€¦but it was none of her business.

Akiko waited till Midora left before she took a breath and answered.

ā€œItsā€¦differentā€¦.but a good different. I like that they challenge us. I like I like that they give us almost free rangeā€¦.and I like who they paired me with. Iā€™m glad I was lucky enough to get inā€¦ā€ She said though she left out that she was practically a charity case.
She was more than glad, she was forever in the Headmistressā€™s debt for letting her in.

Akiko smiled at Kou as they entered the kitchen. She picked up a plate and started filling it with random food items that looked good.

ā€œWhat about you? Do you like it Kou?ā€ She asked the girl, hoping the question would not offend her companion as she knew the girl was not willingly here.

Kou frowned as Midora passed them carrying a purple haired girl who was clearly injured. What happened? She wondered, but didn't bother to express this. It wasn't any of her concern, the girl wasn't in her group so she really didn't care. She did, however, care that Midora-Sensai told her she could not eat anything before their meeting; her stomach was growling fiercely at this point and Kou was severely disappointed that she wouldn't get to have any food until they spoke. Oh well, she would put it on a plate and take it with her to the garden.

ā€œItsā€¦differentā€¦.but a good different. I like that they challenge us. I like I like that they give us almost free rangeā€¦.and I like who they paired me with. Iā€™m glad I was lucky enough to get inā€¦ā€ She nodded her head and picked up a plate, looking around at what was being offered. Kou didn't really understand that much of what Akiko was saying because she had been sentenced to come here, she didn't realize that Mages had to be selected or that they were so choosy with their students. Perhaps they picked them based on who was best to manipulate?

ā€œWhat about you? Do you like it Kou?ā€

She could tell by Akiko's tone that the Mage believed it was a touchy subjected, however, Kou didn't mind. She wasn't one to waste words on useless statements. "As you can imagine I was a bit reluctant when I was sentenced to come here, however, it is better then jail and much more enjoyable then working under the God of War." Without realizing it, Kou had selected things from her home land. Habits are hard to kill, especially ones you have had for thousands of years.

Kou looked down at her watch and sighed, it was time to go. "I apologize Akiko, but I must take my leave." Kou said, trying her best to adapt her speech to a more modern tongue. Everyone spoke so casually nowadays, it was as though no one had any respect anymore.

Kou exited the cafeteria and made a quick detour to the dorms, she placed her plate of food on the bedside table and grabbed her spirit sword before finally making her way to the garden and sitting on the plush grass to do a quick meditation session before Midora arrived.

"What do you mean, the girl has traumatic amnesia?", Mikari asked through the phone.

"Yeah, that's what doctor said", Midora answered, "somethings must have been happened to her."

"And you decided to keep her there in the Academy? You realized that she can turned the whole school upside down, right?"

"I'm well-aware of that. However, in her state right now, I believe she will cause no problem. Plus, she's pretty much losing much of her strenght, so there are nothing to worry for now. Just leave it to me and I'll keep a good eye on her."

"I won't say that I'd agree with you, but I guessed there are no other choices", Mikari said, "hopefully she'll totally forget about her past. If she turned back into the person she used to be, I don't think even you will be able to stop her easily."

"I know, that's what I'm good at, after all. Well, if anything happens I'll remember to contact you."

"Yeah, have a good night, Dora-chin", Mikari said and turned off the call. He sighed and put down his phone. "Ting", the microwave made the sound. Midora then went to it and took out the two bento boxes. He opened them and checked and it seems that everything is ready. Looks nice. He then wrapped each of them with a wrapping cloth and carried them out of his room towards the garden, where Kou was waiting for him.

When he got there, he saw that she is meditating. He gently went to the rock which he usually sat and said to Kou. "Sorry for keep you waiting", he then gave her the bento box which he has enchanted, "here, I made this for you. I'm a mage, not a chef so my cooking is not the best in the world. But back in the Guild, I used to do the cooking and they often say that it was good. Well, help yourself."

He turned to his own bento box and unwrapped the cloth and opened the cover. It is still warm and the scent is nice, or at least to Midora is, "I don't really like the food in the cafeteria so I often do the cooking all by myself. I thought you'd be hungry so I've made another box for you. Also, I've put a regeneration spell into your food so it'll help you recover your strenght because I think you're power is still a bit unstable after what happened earlier", he said while using his chopsticks and pick up a sushi. Then they quietly eating their dinner for a few moments.

"Okay, and the reason I called you here is that I want to tell you more about your history, because I know you didn't remember much about your past, and how you come to this world", he paused a bit and continued, "well, actually you should ask a demon teacher like Zita or Ludovic but since you're in my group, I think I should tell you."

He put his chopsticks resting on his box, then turned to Kou, "Kou, you aren't just any ordinary demons. In fact, you're actually a high-class being, though I don't think there are a lot of people like you in this world. You're what they called 'heavenly fiend'."

He paused a bit to let Kou sink in every words he said, "To tell the truth, heavenly fiends are holy beings, not really demons, but because in this world, they're still being able to control by mages, so they classified them as demons and give them that name. They aren't beings that were born in this world, I believe that they come from another dimension. But when they reincarnated into this world, all of the memories from their past lives are lost, which explain why you think that you just simply come into this world. I was surprised when I found out that you're a heavenly fiend, since there aren't many of them left now."

He put asides his bento box, "Hachiman the God of War probably knows about your origin, but I think to keep you to do his bidding, he has kept this as a secret from you. But there's one thing that makes you dangerous and that is what happened earlier. When you entered that state, you'll completely lost your consciousness and you can destroy a whole civilization even if you never intended to. But luckily, you'll only enter that state when you've lost most of your energy. So from tomorrow, you should begin to learn to use your power at a considerate amounts and I'll be keeping an eye on you in case anything happens."

Midora leaned to his back a bit, and looked up into the starry sky, "I know how you feel, because I'm like you too. Because I'm a Dark Mage, I will also lose my sanity if I'm angered. Back then, I used to destroy my hometown because of that reason too. So don't worry anything if you think you're different, because there are people who can be even more destructive when they're enraged", he thought back to the girl Lizabelle, "well, you're one of the most well-behaved students I've ever had, if you have anything which you needed to ask, just find me and I will help you. However..."

He turned to Kou, "My job is to teach and help you students improve. So when I'm teaching, I will show no biases and I will treat everyone equally the same. Which means that if you make mistake, then I will just have to fix it. Got it? And one last thing, don't see this as a punishment or anything, when you've made it here then this will be your second home. Remember, no one can take away your freedom, unless you allowed them to."

When Kou opened her eyes Midora was there, holding out a bento. Surprised, she took the neatly wrapped package from her Sensai and carefully unfolded it. The food smelled delicious and despite what Midora said it looked very appetizing, better then what they had in the lunch room. The only place Kou had ever known was Japan and it was a bit odd being away from her home country. The fact that Midora had prepared bento's made her a bit home sick. Kou's attention was drawn back to her Sensai when he said he wanted to tell Kou about her history, she really knew nothing about herself, only that she was a demon and her sole purpose in life up until now had been destruction.

"Kou, you aren't just any ordinary demon. In fact, you're actually a high-class being, though I don't think there are a lot of people like you in this world. You're what they called in ancient times a Heavenly Fiend." Kou looked up from the food and placed the bento aside, this was important information and she would absorb as much of it as she could. "To tell you the truth, Heavenly Fiends are holy beings, not really demons, but because in this world they're still able to be controlled by Mages; they classified them as demons and give them that name. They aren't beings that were born in this world, I believe that they come from another dimension. But when they are reincarnated into this world, all of the memories from their past lives are lost, which explains why you think that you just simply appeared onto earth. I was surprised when I found out that you're a Heavenly Fiend, since there aren't many of them left now." An endangered species, how many of them were there?

Hachiman knew and he never told her, that was just like him to take advantage of her and hold back information! It was like that suicide mission all over again... Kou's hands balled into fists, she would never forgive that Deity for what he had done to her! What Midora said was completely accurate, Kou had gone to sleep and woken up in the middle of mass destruction after exhausting days. The man she had loved.... After rousing from a fit he had tried to kill her so Kou had killed him.

"I know how you feel, because I'm like you too. I'm a Dark Mage, so I will also lose my sanity if I'm angered. Back then, I destroyed my hometown when I was enraged for that reason too. So don't worry about it if you think you're different, because there are people who can be even more destructive when they're angry." She knew that, Kou had fought alongside some of the most powerful demons in history, she had watched and back stabbed her comrades based on orders and controlling Mages. Her whole life Kou had been controlled, her will was never her own.

"Remember, no one can take away your freedom unless you allow them to." She looked up at her Sensai then, heeding his words. That's right, Akiko had said she had no intention of stealing Kou's control from her. She was finally, truly, free.

"Thank you Midora-Sensai," Her nails dug into the palms of her hands, she was enraged by the fact that she had gone her whole life not knowing what, or who she truly was. Kou vowed that she would never let someone manipulate her like that ever again. "I don't expect you to clean up my messes, my mistakes are my own."

It had been a long day to say the least. Iris, after a considerable amount of time, eventually arrived back at the Academy and couldn't have looked more relieved. She was tired, not that she'd let on of course, and quietly shuffled along until she was within the academy grounds. The area around her was practically empty, apart from the unfamiliar sight of two students who, according to her knowledge, weren't at class this morning.

"Well, well." She sighed to herself, running a hand lazily through her fringe as her purple orbs stared more purposely at the two boys. The day was coming do an end and it wasn't hardly likely they'd be going anywhere just yet. With that thought, the woman straightened herself upright before strolling over to greet the two late-comers.

As she approached the pair Iris quickly dug out a crumpled up piece of paper and looked to it curiously. "Mao and Heikichi Koga," She spoke a little absentmindedly, before tucking away the piece of paper and staring at the two youths as she stood in front of them. "Nice to meet ya. I be Iris Blackwrath, the headmistress of this academy. Can't say I remember seeing either of you this morning." Raising a doubtful eyebrow she glanced at both boys before placing her hands on either side of her hip. "Either way, you two best be heading to your dorm. The day is nearly over and you certainly ain't going anywhere yet. I expect to see the pair of you tomorrow, on time, unless you want me to hunt you down personally," She almost teased a little with a knowing smirk, before turning away from the students and looking elsewhere.

"Actually, follow me boys. I'll show you to your dorm - just to make sure you make it there." Motioning her hand she beckoned for the students to follow as the woman began to walk ahead, occasionally peering over her shoulder to ensure the boys were actually following. After a short walk, the small group arrived at the student dorms, and wasting little time Iris pointed out the one that both youths were designated to. "That one there, right at the end. Your names will be on it anyway so you can't go wrong. Now off you go - and remember, be on time tomorrow."

Taking her leave just then, and beginning to make her way to her own room, Iris avoided any staff and student she came across along the way. As it was, she had returned without her students, and wasn't in the mood to explain the reason why. Quickly and quietly she retreated to her quarters and settled in for the night. All the while making preparations for tomorrows class.

"Baron, stay away from that girl."

The mage-demon suddenly heard and saw Mr. Kurayami who appeared nearby, her fellow teacher calling forth some form of black substance that separated Baron from the girl she was trying to help. A little caught-off guard, the woman jumped a little in surprise as she watched the strange student remain above the ground. By the looks of it, Mr. Kurayami was somewhat angered by the girls presence. Did they have a connection?

"Sorry for the outrage earlier. Let just say that I know this girl and we don't have a very good history together," Mr. Kurayami began to explain, raising the mage-demons curiosity just a little. She continued to listen further as the man spoke. "We need to take her to the nursery back in the Academy where she can be treated. Okay, here's goes."

Baron watched quietly as the mage channeled some of his energy into the girl, before guiding the small group back to the Academy shortly afterwards. The journey wasn't long, and since they were in a hurry, it lasted even less. As soon as they arrived Baron turned to Mr. Kurayami.

"Baron, if I remember than your group is still have an empty spot for a demon, right? So I think you should go and ask Iris to let this girl here to enroll and be put in your group. I will explain why later, but I have to carry her to the nursery first. Go now." He said, to which Baron merely nodded and took her leave in the other direction.

Somewhat panicky, the mage-demon ran along the empty hallways and hurried to her destination. Just as Mr. Kurayami has instructed, Baron made her way to Iris's quarters and immediately knocked on her door. By now, the headmistress had returned just merely minutes before, and soon after, the red-haired woman answered.

"Oh Iris, I am so relieved you are in!" The small woman sighed with relief, evidently. "You s--"

"What's all the commotion? Ain't it a bit late to be out n' about?" The headmistress questioned, yawning and stretching as she did so, clearly showing her tiredness. "I hope this is good, Baron. I wanna sleep."

"You see Iris, I found a strange girl during my groups exercise. Mr. Kurayami assisted me in bring her to the Academy. I know nothing about her, though her attendance to the Academy could be beneficial. I was thinking..."

"A girl, huh? How is she?"

"She is very confused and in a bad way. Right now, she is in the nursery recovering."

Baron looked to the Headmistress curiously, awaiting her response. Leaning against the door-frame, Iris crossed her arms and thought for a few minutes, tapping a finger against her chin playfully. A few silent moments past until Iris spoke once more. "Doesn't seem like she's going anywhere right now, so I guess I can't object to letting her recover. For now, she can stay. And since you found and brought her here - she's under your supervision. Is that all? Great."

Closing the door, Iris gave the small woman a brief wave and smile before returning to her bedroom. In the meantime, Baron simply nodded and hurried off down the hallway to tend to something else.

A short time after, and once Baron was gone, Iris left the comforts of her bedroom once again and proceeded to make her way down towards the nursery, of which contained the supposedly strange girl. Indeed, she was intrigued. So much so she had to see the girl. Whether Mr. Kurayami was still there or not, she wasn't sure.

Once arriving at the room the headmistress quickly ducked inside and immediately her eyes fell onto the unfamiliar face of the girl. Who was she? Where did she come from? Iris didn't particularly care, at least not at that moment. All she knew was that this young girl was in her academy, and definitely in need of some care.

As she stood and leaned over the girl she asked, "What's your name, kid?" It was rather late, maybe the girl wanted to sleep rather than talk. Iris did. She'd likely head off soon, once she knew the girl's name. She'd settle for that.

"Wooohooo! I did it!"

Slowly opening his eye to the sudden outburst of delighted joy that rang in his ears, the demon supervisor moved around a little before heaving himself upright and onto his feet. By the sounds of it, the group had been successful, and now he could finally meet them as the situation was safe and sound.

"...I tamed it! We better get some friggin' extra credit for that." The students, or student, were evidently happy at their small victory. They had been teacher-less this entire time and yet managed to defeat the doppelganger without any supervision. That little aspect was impressive in it's own way. Peering round from where he stood Ludovic watched the group for a moment, before stepping out fully as he eventually decided to approach them.

"Aye, mage, are you able to stand? You 'n pony boy should take this thing to the academy's nurse." Ludovic merely smiled and even chuckled a little as he waved his hands calmly in front of himself. "Whoa, whoa there, if it's dieing then just let the poor thing pass-on in peace." He stated aloud, dropping his hands and leaning to the side slightly.

"I gotta say you guys did better than I thought. I'm Ludovic Howl - your teacher." Glancing over the students it seemed like they needed some treatment themselves, never-mind the creature. "That thing will be fine, on the other hand you lot better get movin'. It's getting late and I'll get in trouble if you guys are still out here, like, seriously."

The demon pointed in the direction of the academy, standing and watching the youths rather carefully as he waited for the students to move themselves. "So get movin'. If your real quick I'll even give you that extra credit you were whining on about." Turning on his heel the demon walked ahead of the group, figuring they'd talk later since his priority was mainly to get them back to the academy. "Follow on kiddies."

"Thank you Midora-Sensai," Kou said, Midora can saw determination in her words, "I don't expect you to clean up my messes, my mistakes are my own."

"It's good that you can think that way," Midora said as he scratches the back of his neck, "though you should open your mind and try to enjoy this world a bit. Well, finish up your dinner."

With that, Midora finished up his bento box and then put the cover onto the empty box. After that, he put aside the box next to him. He then looked up into the sky, it has already passed twilight and the stars has already covered the night sky. The wind slowly blew through the grasses around them. Looks like it's time. Midora took out his bamboo flute.

He then turned to Kou, "If you read the introducing paper carefully, then it stated that it is the curfew around this time, and I was the one responsible to make sure students won't wandering around after it has pass curfew. Usually I sat here and play a tune with my flute to informed the teachers and the students that it is curfew time. I had enhanced my flute, it'll work as an amplifier so everyone around school should be able to hear it. Well, feel free to stay and listen."

Then, he closed his eyes and began to play a tune, the sound from his flute spreaded like a wave throughout the school, but it wasn't very loud. After he has finished playing, he took both of his bento boxes. "You should headed back to your room for now. We have a long day tomorrow. Good night."

Midora bowed and then turned his back and made his way to his room. He yawned. A good rest should help me recover my strenght. On his way, he saw that the students have made their ways back to the students' square. If there are anyone even dares to break curfew then he and the rest of the teachers should know. They have their own ways and none of the students ever expected that.

When he has made it to the teachers' square, he saw that Ms. Weatherbee is about to enter her room, which is next to his. "Hey Baron," Midora called and went to her, "can we talk a bit? It's about the girl Lizabelle."

Midora then leaned his back against the wall and wrapped his arm, "What a tiring day, if only they knew how much energy I have to waste today," he sighed, "anyway, I saw Iris went to the nursery earlier and I guess that she should agree. I will do the paperworks for her tomorrow, you just need to keep her in the line like everyone else and it should be okay."

He then looked up, "About my outrage earlier, well, it has a reason you see," he spoke calmly, "if you remember, then I used to be a part of the Dark Mages' Guild after my home village was destroyed. But that's not all. Before I came across with the Guild, I wandered aimlessly, until I found myself in a town. I don't really recall where it was, but because I haven't eaten anything for days, I fainted and a family there bring me to their home and care for me, I decided to stay with them and I was treated like their son. I stayed there for a few months and I got along quite well with their son who is also a Dark Mage, Mikari - the guy who owned the grocery shop near here that usually calls me Dora-chin, remember? I thought that my life will just be normal like that, until the day that girl came."

Midora paused a bit when he talk about the incident, although he doesn't want to remember it, it is better to speak it out rather than just keep it a secret, "She is the most dangerous and blood-thirsty demon I've ever met, she killed without any grief and she won't stop even if she is satisfied. I don't know exactly what her real name is though. If I remember correctly, she is one of a few demon that works under the bidding of the most evil and powerful mage ever existed. I've came across with many demons of all kind in my life, but I've never met anyone like her. Her hidden powers are not just extremely powerful, she is very clever and an expert in battle. And along with her bloodlust, no one ever dares to face her. And trust me, if S-rank is the highest in demon ranking, I would gave her an SS+"

He sighed, "She came to the town and began to wrecked havoc everywhere, killing every people in her sight within just seconds. It happened so fast, I could felt as if it was only seconds that the whole town was eliminated. Everyone in the town was killed except for me and Mikari and we have no other choice but to face her. Mikari is a strong mage, but he was still beaten by her and almost got killed if I wasn't jumped in fight with her. It was the biggest battle of my life. I have to struggled a lot but finally, I was able to beat her somehow. I've enchanted a distracting spell on her so that she won't be able to track me and Mikari down. We left and continued to wander until we came across with the Guild."

He touched his hair and paused a bit, then continued, "It has been so long and I thought I almost forgotten about that girl and I thought she will never find me. Until now. When seeing her, memories of horror returned and I thought I could have killed her. But when I looked in her eyes, I felt pity. The doctor said she now has traumatic amnesia, which is the reason why she's forgotten about everything, even her name. And it seems that she has also changed though. But if one day, her memories return and she became the person that she used to be, then trust me, she will turned this school upside down and she'll harm even the teachers. Even myself has to unseal like 90 percent of my inner power if I want to defeat her."

With that, he turned to Ms. Weatherbee, "I know this task is somewhat hard, especially for someone who haven't got much experience like you, but I hope that you can keep a close watch on her and see how she developed. I know that she can be changed and she will totally forget about that past, someday. It should be me to watch over her, but I still have a group to look after and I have duty to keep two other devastating beings under control, which is the Heavenly Fiend in my group and myself. And call me if anything happen, okay? Me and the others are always willing to help."

Midora straighthen himself up, "Okay, that's all I want to say, sorry for keep you standing and listen to me like that. We have a lot of work tomorrow so good night," he said, "and don't sleep in like usual, okay? I'll have to wake you up if you do." Midora waved goodnight to her and went to his room. He put off his boots and went to his bed, landed himself on it as he slowly fell into a deep slumber. Finally he is able to get his longing rest.

A woman with hair that looked like fire entered the room. She had an air of authority about her and it made Lizabelle hesitate.

"What's your name, kid?"
Lacking the real answer to the question the woman asked for, Lizabelle paused.

ā€œWho I was before today, I donā€™t know. As of the last few hours I have assumed the name ā€˜Lizabelleā€™ in honor of the only non-painful memory I have, the crossroads I woke up onā€ Lizabelle said as she looked the woman over.

ā€œIā€¦Iā€™m sure you donā€™t want me here any longer than I need to beā€¦Iā€™ll leave in the morning if you would allow me to stay the night and gather my strengthā€¦ā€ Lizabelle said though she knew she had no where to go.

Unsure what to do with herself Akiko ate her food in silence. Once done she wandered the building randomly, trying to orientate and acquaint herself with the school. After an hour or so she went to her room, nodded to Yuuto before she changed into a night gown and slipped into bed with a yawn. It wasnā€™t long before Akiko was asleep.

Now, at one point one might have stared asking themselves: where was Makoto amongst all the mess that occurred? After having flown down to pick up Raisa, had he just slipped back into the folds of the story, mingling himself with the objects of which authors imply to be there when theyā€™re not? The fabrics of the story that readers make up with their own minds so as to focus on the main story plot? To be fair, that was sort of what happened; for as Makoto had let down Raisa, a seizure had wracked through his whole body, causing him to forcibly be drawn out of the mayhem that came to a final stop with Rabesachā€™s claws stuck firmly in the dopplegangerā€™s torso. Now, what Makoto would have wished to happen was that he would defy Raisaā€™s orders- mages be damned-, swung in the direction of the doppleganger with sword and air ablaze and hack whatever surface he could reach. Heroic, eh? Dramatic? Definitely. And that really was what Makoto lived for everyday: some sort of drama. To live life to itā€™s fullest- trying to understand the terms ā€œyoloā€ and ā€œ#youonlyliveonceā€ were the main objectives towards which the ā€œold soulā€ within Makoto tried to strive towards. Obviously, defying the woman whom was able to control his limbs with her very orders was something that Makoto would see as underneath his life objectives.
But life tends to be cruel and his dream was dragged out of his hands. Insteadā€¦

He had been too careless. His body numb, Makoto felt himself keel over as his muscles seized against themselves, his breath leaving his lungs as his heart came to a stop. No. He struggled against the rock that seemed to clamp him down, but as it had been since his childhood, nothing could help Makoto as his bad luck seized him. He had been too careless. ā€œFuck-,ā€ Grunting, Makoto tried to jog his lungs to work, but they faltered once more, as if they had taken many long years of smoking from another person. His legs refused to respond, as if Makoto had received the bad fortune of a kid whom had been destined to break his legs.
He had been careless because he had lost control over his powers. While Makoto had been so enticed with the idea of freedom and in his anger, his bad luck had been seeping from his pores, like black mist trailing behind him through the village. They had latched onto people like little tiny particles- especially on his two teammates. But Makoto had noticed his mistake, and with a small curse that probably no one but Raisa had heard, he had immediately drawn the negative energy into his own body, taking the consequences as his body seized against his mind. And as he lay there, body twitching slightly and unable to escape from the incoming doppleganger, Makoto could only berate himself and curse the world as he forced his lungs to work again, his healing Qilin blood slowly jogging life back into his body. Never doing this again. Twitching his fingers, Makoto waited for his legs to react as he tried to push himself up, his eyes bleary as he looked around before focusing on the man that just appeared.
"That thing will be fine, on the other hand you lot better get movin'. It's getting late and I'll get in trouble if you guys are still out here, like, seriously. So get movin'. If your real quick I'll even give you that extra credit you were whining on about. Follow on kiddies." Makoto looked at the man with disbelief as he forced himself to sit up, his legs still recuperating from being crushed by his own powers. They would take longer to heal but not too long, and as his annoyance swelled along with his pain, Makoto could only bite his tongue, as he knew he was not in a shape to fight. He had been useless during the fight that much was obvious for the young Qilin- a large pout had formed on his face as he flickered a look between Rabesach and Raisa. It would be no lie that he felt more respect towards the two- especially the mage- but his hurt pride caused Makoto to fold his arms together and his lower-lip to jut out, his back turned towards them as he consciously kept an eye on his powers. ā€œI canā€™ move,ā€ Makoto finally said over his shoulder, his eyes still shut and his lower-lip still as pouty as ever, ā€œmā€™ legs are broke nā€™ still need time tā€™ heal.ā€

All things considered, the battle had gone decently well, mused the Magus, forcing herself to a kneeling posture despite the searing pain running up and down her legs each time she moved them. Rabesach, for his part, had managed to mostly stay out of the line of fire, allowing the two of them to draw the creature's attention, since they, unlike him, were equipped with combat-based powers that would allow them to handle such things with less difficulty. Once its attention was diverted, he'd done more than just deal the final blow - he'd assumed direct control of the creature they'd been sent to slay. However, she herself hadn't fared quite so well, and Makoto, it seemed, had suffered the worst injuries of any of them. He hadn't been directly hit, true, but in the instant she'd been struck, her green eye had noticed something that otherwise might have slipped by her. There had been some sort of curse that had been cast - although she wasn't sure from where - that had caused her to be incapable of avoiding being cut down by the doppelganger. But by all rights, a curse like that should have at the very least fated her legs to be crippled instead of merely lacerated, or, much more likely, destined major arteries to be cut so that she'd have bled to death. Yet, when she analyzed her own condition using her reinforcement magic, she found that her wounds were rather minor, the cuts being rather shallow and insignificant, although they were, admittedly, fairly messy. First thing was first. She reinforced her blood surrounding the wounds, causing it to coagulate instantly and seal the lacerations, a solution which seemed all too simple considering the fact that she'd just been cursed. Looking back on the battle, she could only draw one conclusion. The instant that it had happened, the curse's target had changed. Makoto was supposed to be a Qilin, and from what she knew of them, they supposedly brought good fortune. Surely, his suddenly and unexpectedly being injured in the same way she by all rights should have been couldn't have been a coincidence. Had he taken on her misfortune so as to save her? He had seemed rather unexpectedly concerned for her safety earlier when she'd first arrived on the scene, too... And yet she'd let her temper get the better of her and had only yelled at him for his selflessness. She flushed with shame, remembering how she'd insulted him, her dignity thoroughly broken by her own perceived immaturity. She didn't deserve to have been rescued by him after being so inexcusably rude.

Forcing herself to her feet, she staggered slightly, trying to ignore the burning pain in her legs as they protested her rough treatment of them. Sheathing her knife, she limped over to the fallen Qilin, and knelt beside him, facing away as she did so in an uncharacteristically bashful attempt to hide her own humiliation over her prior outburst. Finally, when she felt she was sufficiently composed, she looked back, a slight grimace lingering on her face as she tried to pretend that she was unharmed. It was a thoroughly unreasonable thing to do, and would probably only make the otherwise minor injuries she had sustained more serious, but one good deed warranted another, and she didn't want to owe anybody anything. "Pull yourself up onto my back," She said quietly, disregarding her own injuries as her stubborn nature commanded her to make amends for the damage she'd unwittingly forced Makoto to inflict on himself to save her. "I'll carry you back to the academy." Seeming to notice how she was in no place to offer such assistance when her own condition was hardly better, she pouted slightly, adding some "reasoning" to justify her own stubbornness. "I can reinforce my body to support your weight, and we both need to go to the healers anyway, so we're headed to the same place. I might as well take you there while I'm at it."

Kou went back to her room after listening to the flute for a few minutes. It was a hypnotic tune that she could wallow in forever; unfortunately though, Kou had to return to the dorm if she wanted to make it before the end of the song. Akiko was already asleep and Yuuto had yet to move from his corner in the large lounge chair. Kou nodded to the fox eared demon and went to the drawers beside her bed before recalling that she owned nothing except her staff and the clothes on her back.

The creature kicked off her shoes and pulled down the blankets, laying under them and debating whether sleep would come tonight or if she would live to see another sunrise.

Mao

Bringing his arms up and behind his head Mao took a quick peek at his fellow student. Revealing eyes darker than the night just for a brief moment they flashed a pale red as he unconsciously looked into the flow of life. The kid before him wasnā€™t all that interesting, had he been female well that was a completely different story. It was while he peeked at Heikichi that his eyes noticed the beautiful purple orbs looking in their direction.

Maoā€™s eyes widened just the slightest before closing them and immersing himself into the dark. Of course there was still color there simply were no lines or structures to keep said colors in an orderly fashion. Not that the young demon cared much. Watching as a shapely figure headed their way Mao assumed it was the holder of those beautiful eyes that now stood in front of them. "Nice to meet ya. I be Iris Blackwrath, the headmistress of this academy. Can't say I remember seeing either of you this morning." Mao merely chuckled nervously at the obvious statement. Taking a step back to adjust his way of standing, the young demon now leaned back slightly with something of a Cheshire smile on his face. . "Either way, you two best be heading to your dorm. The day is nearly over and you certainly ain't going anywhere yet. I expect to see the pair of you tomorrow, on time, unless you want me to hunt you down personally,"

For a moment Maoā€™s smile faltered at the idea of being hunted down by those eyes. It reminded him of his own parents, his mother specifically. The young demonā€™s mother was never one to hold back not that he minded in the past. Brought back to the present by Ms. Blackwrath, Mao followed after the blotch of color to the dorms. Once they had arrived Mao drowned out the headmistressā€™s words until she was gone and he entered the room.

Making sure all of his things were in order, Mao sat on his bed and stared (with closed eyes) at nothing in particular. ā€œSo tell me about yourself Heikichi.ā€ Grinning widely Mao folded his hands and placed them on his knees.

"Hey Baron... can we talk a bit? It's about the girl Lizabelle."

As she was about to enter her room and settle for the night Baron suddenly heard a voice, pausing and turning to face the bearer of the source, she quickly recognized Midora. She gave a nod in response.

The mage-demon listened carefully to what the older mage had to say, offering a few nods and tilts of her head in agreement. "Of course, I'll do all I can to keep her in line... I don't imagine it should be a problem." She said softly, though somewhat curious to what the male was getting at. It wasn't until Midora continued on with his story, and the reasons behind his outrage towards the girl, that Baron started to get clued in gradually.

"I would never have guessed she was that sort of demon, I am rather surprised by this, truly. A young girl such as her, a murderous demon?" Baron blinked, feeling somewhat shocked by the news, though part of her wasn't entirely as fearful as the rest of her. "I will make sure to keep a close eye on her, both as her teacher and as a demon myself, I can ensure that should any trouble arise I will make sure to let you know as soon as possible."

For the next few minutes Baron seemingly spaced out somewhat, her thoughts pondering over the mysterious girl and the ever-more mysterious past that she bared. Lizabelle truly did not seem like the demon Midora described, though Baron couldn't be certain that she wasn't entirely harmless either.

"...and don't sleep in like usual, okay? I'll have to wake you up if you do."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Baron looked to Midora and merely nodded once more. "Oh, of course. I will try my best. Goodnight." She sheepishly answered and looked away, sensing the older mage heading off to his room at that moment, to which Baron also retreated to her chambers and settled for the night.

"...I have assumed the name ā€˜Lizabelleā€™ in honor of the only non-painful memory I have..."

Iris raised a curious brow in response to the unusual answer she received. Really, she didn't know how to handle what the girl said, or what exactly it meant. With a heavy sigh the woman looked to the girl silently, thinking as she did so.

"Iā€¦Iā€™m sure you donā€™t want me here any longer than I need to beā€¦Iā€™ll leave in the morning if you would allow me to stay the night and gather my strengthā€¦" The girl continued, and soon Iris was ready to respond.

"Don't worry kid, you can settle here for as long as you need," She assured the girl with a complimenting smile, hoping the child wouldn't worry as much. "I ain't gonna throw you out, it wouldn't be very headmistress-y of myself to do so. Now, Lizabelle, you just rest and take it easy. Tomorrow we'll see about getting you properly settled."

With that said, Iris could sense the girls tiredness, along with her own, and decided to call it a night for now. Anything further could be dealt with tomorrow, that was the best course of action. Offering a brief wave, the woman took her leave at that moment and left the girl alone to rest, as she made her way out of the room and continued on her way back to her quarters.
