ImageWhile you’re young, you should travel. You should take the time to see the world and taste the fullness of life. Spend an afternoon sitting in front of the Michelangelo. Walk the streets of Paris. Climb Kilimanjaro. Hike the Appalachian trail. See the Great Wall of China. Get your heart broken by the “killing fields” of Cambodia. Swim through the Great Barrier Reef. These are the moments that define the rest of your life; they’re the experiences that stick with you forever.

Traveling will change you like little else can. It will put you in places that will force you to care for issues that are bigger than you. You will begin to understand that the world is both very large and very small. You will have a newfound respect for pain and suffering, having seen that two-thirds of humanity struggle to simply get a meal each day.

While you’re still young, get cultured. Get to know the world and the magnificent people that fill it. The world is a stunning place, full of outstanding works of art. See it.

You won’t always be young. And life won’t always be just about you. So travel, young person. Experience the world for all it’s worth. Become a person of culture, adventure, and compassion. While you still can. Do not squander this time. You will never have it again. You have a crucial opportunity to invest in the next season of your life now. Whatever you sow, you will eventually reap. The habits you form in this season will stick with you for the rest of your life. So choose those habits wisely.

And if you’re not as young as you’d like (few of us are), travel anyway. It may not be easy or practical, but it’s worth it. Traveling allows you to feel more connected to your fellow human beings in a deep and lasting way, like little else can. In other words, it makes you more human.” - Jeff Goins

The Travel Society of America has realised that young Americans hardly leave their own country. After a recent nationwide survey, they decided to conduct an experiment. Sixteen teenagers from different backgrounds, races, sexualities and personalities would be put together on a trip travelling the world. Some like travelling, others dislike it. The original idea was to see if teenagers still loved travel, but after a crisis with funding, TSA had to enlist the help of someone. This 'someone' was MTV, who wanted to make a show surrounding the trip. Ultimately, TSA agreed, as it might draw more teenagers in to the project if MTV was involved. Every single high school pupil from the ages of fifteen to eighteen was handed a form for the chance to enter the trip. It was mandatory to complete, but students were aloud to drop out of it if deemed necessary. Soon, it blew up on social media and everyone was getting excited for the show and who would get picked. It was really becoming a massive thing.

You have a chance to have the time of your life, if you’re willing to put your feelings and your heart on the line. A selected group of teens and young adults from all over America will be chosen to participate in opportunity of a lifetime. Eight boys and Eight girls will have an all expenses paid trip around the world.

When we say 'all around the world' we really mean it. From Asia to Oceania, it will cover every continent of the world- And, yes, briefly touching down in the Antarctic. There will be girls and two boys per room. Here’s the catch. Each room only has two beds. Who sleeps where will be up to you and your roommates. Roommates will be chosen randomly and you will not be able to change for any reason. If you do not get along with your roommates, don’t worry. Each time we visit a new place, you will be roomed with three different people.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it will be a trip you will remember forever. But, it won’t always be sunshine and rainbows. There will be both friendships and enemies made. There will be good times and there will be bad times. You may find love or hate, maybe even both. There will be happy times, sad times, and lots of drama. But one thing’s for sure, this will be a trip you will never forget.

Sign up today, and you could be one of the lucky few to be a part of an experience that is one in a million.

Image

Beginning in New York City and ending, before going back to New York, in Las Vegas, the trip will be truly all around the world. The time staying in each location varies, but the time is usually around two to four days. Some places are day excursions, others cruises that span days. Most of the time we will be travelling by plane, but at other times it may be boats or cars, and there is an extremely large motorhome or 'tour bus' if you must. The locations are varied in their enjoyment. Some are fairly sad- Auschwitz and The Killing Fields- others, more jovial- Waikiki and Rio.

  • Adult themes- swearing, drugs, alcohol and the like are permitted. You can hint at sexual... occurences, but please fade to black afterwards.
  • No WIP's.
  • To reserve, your password is a place you have traveled to out of the locations list. If you have traveled to none, simply put the words 'Missie is Miss Worldwide y'all' in your reservation post somewhere. Brownie points if you include a funny story from your trip.
  • The CS is first person, and is basically supposed to be the entry form for the trip.
  • Keep active or I will furiously PM you. Furiously and profusely.
  • Say your planned faceclaim when you reserve, and if possible a basic background for your character. I want to keep everything balanced as this is not just a mix of one type of people, it is of mixed personalities, sexualities, backgrounds, neighbourhoods, races, etc.

"Cassius, get out of the car"

Giving an exasperated sigh, Cass stayed put. The day had came too fast and too soon, and now suddenly he was going on a year-long trip with a bunch of people he hated. It wouldn't have been described as one the finer moments in his life right now, as a scowl plastered his face and he laid back in to the smooth leather of his seat, crossing both arms over one another. In his mind he was an activist- protesting for his dignity. He didn't see how getting on a reality TV show would further his career. If anything, it would hinder it.

"Cassius, please, not again." His father Erik sighed, almost a mirror image to Cassius. The two were quite alike, but neither of them would admit it. "We talked about this, Cass. Come on, they are about to arrive."

Opening the door of the car, Cassius pulled at his jacket in a desperate attempt to feel like this wasn't happening. They were stood outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown. Paparazzi lingered behind bins, cameras at the ready. That's actually as far as they were legally permitted to get, though. Paparazzi were not aloud in a considerable distance from the competitors. Something about 'Retaining the real life travel experience.' The whole crew was here though, so I don't know how that would work.

Suddenly, very suddenly, dozens of black cars pulled up at the sidewalk. Police bordered the cars, but they were all able to get a space somewhere. All of the competitors burst out of their cars, and were immediately instructed by their driver to make their way over to Erik and Cassius. His father smiled cheerfully as per usual, but Cassius kept his face at a slight smirk, letting one corner of his mouth twitch up.

"Hello, travellers! My name is Erik Segovia- and this is my son, Cassius Segovia. He will be joining you on this trip." He pointed to Cassius. "This hotel will be your home for the next two days. I trust you know your roommates? Everyone will make their way to the hotel rooms and you will have some- how do you say it- 'chill-out' time. Get to know your roomates, and figure out where you are all sleeping. Tommorow is a big day, and we will all meet on floor 51's meeting room."

His father took a deep breath, before continuing "Now go, my children. Please make your way up to floor 52."

Cassius followed the competitors as they made their way in to the hotel, his smirk now a scowl once more.

Lykos Morrow
Image

Lykos had never had a phone before, not until they got the letter saying he was going on the trip and his mum splurged to get him the newest iPhone so they could keep in touch. It wasn't something she had to do, it wasn't even something he had asked her to do, Lykos would have been fine asking others to borrow a phone, or even going out to search for a payphone. Nevertheless though, she bought him a phone and a brand new suitcase and duffel. He really did have the best family in the world, and it wasn't something he ever took for advantage. Though he wasn't so naive as to not realize that his specific background was probably what got him onto the show. He assumed most of the kids here were pretty well off, or at least upper middle class. And while he hadn't had that, his growing up was still perfect in his eyes, but he still saw little more than pity from people who did know his past. But back to the phone...

He was still trying to figure out how to work it, and so far nothing was really working besides the fingerprint scanner and sometimes he was able to text. So after he got into the fancy black car that pulled up in front of the airport a few minutes ago to take him away, he pulled out the silver phone and attempted to send his new best friend, Evangeline, a text.

Are you as excited as I am? I can't believe this is finally happening!

And then he hit send and the message was gone, leaving Lykos with little else to do but twiddle his thumbs as he sat and waited for them to arrive at their destination. When they finally did stop though, he was hesitant to get out of the car. What if he tried to get out and stepped right into a puddle, making a fool out of himself in front of everyone? Or what if he tripped on the curb and fell flat on his face? Was he supposed to go to the trunk and get his bag, or would the chauffeur get that too? There were just too many new things that he was still trying to figure out and adjust to, it felt like a completely new world to Lykos.

Gathering up courage, he shouldered his duffel and stumbled out of the dark car and onto the sidewalk. He was struck suddenly with a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach as he looked around him, open-mouthed and surely looking amazed at the unbelievable city around him. The nicest place he had probably been up until now was his father's work, a big building that housed most of his town's lawyers. But this- this passed that a million times over. The hotel itself was striking, lit up as it was at this time of day. And the city around him, the hustle-bustle of the working people, it was like nothing he had ever experienced before. Lykos was in love with this life with the first taste he had of it, and it showed on his face. That wasn't all though, his naivety showed on his face, something more than a few had exploited in the past.

After he got past the view, he moved directly on to searching for Evangeline as he started up towards where the host and his son were stationed, just in front of the entrance to the hotel. His gangly, awkward stride made him look out of place, even more so than his tight, white skinny jeans and black button up probably did. When he finally opened his mouth, which probably wouldn't be until someone else spoke directly to him and he had no other choice, his strange accent would set him even more apart. Though he was secure in the knowledge that he wasn't the only one with an accent that was on this trip. He stood quietly in the small crowd they made when gathered all together, looking a little like a lost puppy when they were told to go up and find their rooms.

Maisie Wish

Image

Maisie Wish sat on the cold leather of the plush car seat. She had her large black suitcase at her feet, resting against the seat in front of her. Next to her, her cream-colored backpack containing her camera, Samsung Galaxy phone, Dell laptop, and all of their chargers plus a 3 subject notebook and a brand-new pack of black, red, and blue pens. Every time they hit a bump in the road, her bag jostles.

As the car slowly maneuvers through traffic if New York, Maisie glances out the window. The crowed sidewalks seem to be even more congested today. Although, all she had to base her facts on are movies and t.v. shows she saw. She had lived in England her entire life so she hadn't really been to America at all. She may have taken a trip here and there, but nothing where she stayed for more than a few days.

Maisie was so excited to finally come to America and be able to enjoy it. She could take the time to actually see the world more. She couldn't wait to meet all of the new people. She had had many friends in England, but she only had a small group of close friends that she saw more than once a day and had been over her house a few times.

She wears a ¾ sleeve black shirt with blue skinny jeans and tan combat boots that come up halfway between her knees and her ankles. There was a jean jacket over her shirt and she had a few leather jackets packed. Her pale complexion always made her stand out and she liked to wear black and grey because they made her eyes stand out even more. Her green/grey eyes had never been a normal trait in her family. Both of her parents had had blue eyes, so she didn't really know where she got it from.

The car pulled up at the sidewalk curb and parked. The driver, whom hadn’t talked the while ride, blankly looked a Maisie. She stared back at him, waiting for him to say something. When he didn’t, she smiled at him, lung her bag over her right shoulder, grabbed her suitcase handle, and opened the car door. She picked up the suitcase and planted it firmly on the ground, then shut the door. The first thing she noticed was the smell: garbage and fresh air and people.

There were many people on the sidewalks, surrounding her, but not noticing. And Maisie didn’t like it. The feeling of invisibility. Maisie was a notice who liked to be noticed, though she would never admit it to anyone. She readjusted her backpack to make it more comfortable and slowly walked towards the crowd of people that seemed to form in front of her. She saw many different kids around her age and guessed that they were the other contestants. Maisie didn’t know any of them, but she wasn’t sure how to introduce herself without somehow embarrassing herself. Well, she knew how, but she didn’t want to. She was fairly shy, after all. So she stood at the back of the crowd silently.

All day, Clara had been feeling rather light head and weak. Not that she would admit it to her mother who was already lecturing her and reminding her of the rules. "And don't forget to ask someone to help you if something goes wrong. The doctors told you to take it easy, remember?" Clara Rose's mother told her over facetime on the young girl's new tablet. She set it up on the small table across from her as she back up into her seat. Clara just kept rolling her big brown eyes and nodded as she listened to her mother overly long list of concerns, hoping to get her daughter to want to come back home. Not that it was going to work of course, they made a promise and Clara held up her end and now her parents have to do the same. Of course, she did promise them that if it came back that she would leave as soon as she could to return back home for treatment, no matter how much she would hate to. She just needed to ease her parents' worries and paranoia. "Mom, I know that you're worried, but you need to relax. And, yes, I remember exactly what the doctors said. I also remember them saying that I'm in remission..--"

"Clare, that means nothing. They said that to you once before and not even a month later, you lost your hearing...I just don't want anything else to happen to my baby girl." Her mother meant well and Clara knew that. But, it didn't change how annoyed the girl was getting. She looked out the window as she watched the buildings go by with a huge smile on her small face as her dimples started to show. She turned back to her mother who was obviously annoyed with her daughter. "What? Mom, come on. I'm in New York! I don't want to spend the whole car ride on the phone, I mean give me a break. I'm excited, I've never been out of Olympia before!" Her mother sighed before signing back. "I get it, you're excited and I'm happy for you, Rosie. But, do remember to pace yourself, you're not like the other people here. You can't just rush around without a care in the world, remember that." Clara scoffed. "I know I'm not like them, mom. They, unlike me don't have to carry around an oxygen tank or wheel around in a wheelchair whenever they feel lightheaded or weak. I get it I'm not normal! But, you don't have to keep throwing it in my face!" Clara signed to her mother with her defense going up. She tried not getting angry, but with her mother...It was difficult every once and a while. "I am not throwing it in your face, Clara! You just have to remember that you can't just go running into the world without taking extra precautions!"

"Okay, mom. Look I have to go now but, I'll call you when I get settled in." Clara said as she looked out the window and saw a man standing with who she guessed was his son. "Okay, be safe. I love you." Her mom signed after letting out a sigh. "Love you too, mom." With that, Clara turned off the tablet and slipped it back into her small backpack. She slumped the backpack on her back and moved her small wheelchair to the now opened door before sliding into it and grabbing her oxygen tank. The driver got out and put her backpack on the back on her chair along with the tank which had its own littler holder. She fixed the Nasal cannula below her nose before sighing as she saw all the other contestants. "This couldn't be any worst. It's the first day and I already know I'm seen as the weakest." She thought to herself as she made it to the front of the crowd to see the man who was speaking. Seeing that she had to read her lips, she sort of pushed herself into the front. She looked up at him and tried to focus on what the man was saying. "Hello, travelers! My name is Erik Segovia- and this is my son, Cassius Segovia. She looked towards the blonde boy next to the man. He wasn't bad looking but, by the look of it, he seemed to be like one to keep to himself.

He will be joining you on this trip. This hotel will be your home for the next two days. I trust you know your roommates? Everyone will make their way to the hotel rooms and you will have some- how do you say it- 'chill-out' time. Get to know your roommates, and figure out where you are all sleeping. Tomorrow is a big day, and we will all meet on floor 51's meeting room. Now go, my children. Please make your way up to floor 52." Clara started wheeling her chair to the entrance, only to have a businessman hold the door open for before walking in himself. In all honesty, she believe she could have gotten the damn door one her own, but whenever she looked different then someone else, people gave her sympathy that she didn't need or want.

She rolled inside, not really knowing exactly where to head, in all honesty the man didn't really enunciate very well. So, she wasn't sure which floor he said exactly. She looked around at the group, looking for one of her roommate while they stayed in New York. She couldn't find anyone she had met beforehand. The only one who was around that she knew the name of was, Maisie. Clara turned around and made her way towards the girl who was, in a way, following the rest of the contestants like a lost puppy dog. She smiled towards girl before clearing her throat. "Hi, my name's Clara. Um, I'm sorry to bother you but, you wouldn't have happened to hear what floor he said, would you? She asked as she did sign language as well. She knew there was a good chance the blonde didn't know what she was saying with her hands but, it was just a force of habit.

Maisie's eyes wandered around the lobby. She loved observing what was going on around her and she liked looking at the architecture. The hotel lobby had beautiful furniture splayed out throughout the room so that a person could always feel comfortable. And Maisie saw the large windows that let in plenty of light, the rug that transitioned to the same color tile covering the floor, and the various plants sprouting here and there. "Wow," she whispered aloud.

Maisie looked up at the sound of Clara's voice, her blonde hair falling over her shoulders in small waves. Her hazel eyes were bright and clear as their gaze fell on Clara's face. She smiled a little nervously, but her eyes didn't show it. Her eyes wandered past Clara for a moment towards the people behind her. Then she focused back on Clara and realized that she had asked her something. "What? Sorry, I didn't hear you."

Dennis Reed sat rigid in the back of the car, his hands forming tight fists against his thighs as he fought to control his rapidly beating heart. "Deep breathes Dennis. You'll be alright. Don't freak out... don't freak out." He had been repeating the mantra to himself for the entirety of the car ride, something the driver had noticed early on. If Dennis had been paying any attention to the man driving the car, he would have seen his eyes flicking back every so often to stare at the boy muttering in the back seat. But Dennis didn't notice, he was too busy trying to calm himself and get ready for arriving at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Why on earth he had let his mother talk him into actually going on this trip was beyond him. She had said it would do him good, help him to gain confidence and so on. Perhaps that was true, but at that moment Dennis would have preferred being safely at home in his room, watching television or playing a video game. Sure, he appreciated that the opportunity. After all he had been picked out of thousands of teenagers from all over the country, but that still didn't hide the fact that he was much more comfortable in an environment he knew.

Suddenly, much sooner than Dennis would have liked, the car pulled up beside the dreaded first hotel. The doors of the cars in front of his opened, their passengers getting out and walking over to where Erik, the big head of the whole trip, was standing with his son. Dennis was only slightly behind the other contestants, a moment of hesitation making him pause before opening his door. With a grunt his driver pointed him towards Erik and Cassius, and Dennis, with his head down and shoulders up walked over and joined the back of the group. Dennis caught the end of Erik's speech and immediately began hyperventilating again as he struggled to remember what room he was in and who he was with. "It's alright Dennis, just follow the group. It'll be fine." He told himself under his breath as he followed the group into the hotel.

Hazel's excitement was obvious. She was finding it hard to sit still in the car and ever so often she would spout some random piece of information about a country she was set to visit with the vacation. The car's driver, a lovely middle-aged woman, nodded and smiled as Hazel rambled on, "I've never even left the country before." Hazel said, not even aware that this was the fifth time she had stated the fact. The kind driver just nodded and smiled, knowing that the young girl would undoubtedly be excited. For Hazel, this was the trip of a lifetime. Given her parents' income, she and her family had never travelled overseas. Most likely she would have had to wait until after she'd got a decent job and saved. So, understandably this was the opportunity of a lifetime.

"Here we go love." The driver said as they pulled up outside the Four Seasons. "Go on over to Mr Segovia, he'll let you know what's happening. Have a wonderful time Hun." She added, pointed towards Erik Segovia and his son. Hazel thanked her and jumped out of the car. Smoothing her skirt down, Hazel gazed around at the other contestants and fell into step with them as they made their way towards Erik Segovia and his son. "Hello, travellers! My name is Erik Segovia- and this is my son, Cassius Segovia. He will be joining you on this trip." Mr Segovia pointed to his son. "This hotel will be your home for the next two days. I trust you know your room-mates? Everyone will make their way to the hotel rooms and you will have some- how do you say it- 'chill-out' time. Get to know your room-mates, and figure out where you are all sleeping. Tomorrow is a big day, and we will all meet on floor 51's meeting room... Now go, my children. Please make your way up to floor 52."

Hazel turned towards the Four Seasons entrance and, with another spike of excitement, stepped through the entrance doors with the other members of their group. She glanced around at the other contestants, recalling most of their names. While they had all met previously at the party, she still had only first impressions to go on. Most of the contestants she thought she could get on reasonably well with. She caught sight of a boy at the back of the group, his shoulder's hunched as he followed them all. She couldn't quite remember his name, Daniel, Dillon, Dean, Dennis? She mentally shrugged, she'd learn his name in time. For now all she could remember was that the boy had stood by himself for much of the welcoming party.

Gavin really ought to have been the first person, give or take a few, to arrive, given that he is actually an employee of the people running the show. Then, there are quite a lot of things that Gavin perhaps ought to do, but fails completely with. One example would be leaving alone those who wish to be, well, left alone. There is a reason that the host, over the past few weeks of preparation, has basically bullied Cassius, the director's son, into a friendship with him. For one thing, he is annoyingly persistent and seems to know very little shame. For another, he finds such sourness as that which Cassius had initially exhibited to be somewhat funny. Not that he'd tell Cassius that, when they'd only just become friends.

Annoying though they may be towards others, his persistence and tendency to shove the introverted and bitter into interactions is part of why he was picked for this show. After all, where would the fun and drama be if everyone just kept to themselves all day? Gavin is partially responsible for keeping ratings up, so that this show might continue on in the future. In fact, the producer gave him the go-ahead to start rumors and the like, though he doesn't plan to do so. Gavin likes gossip quite a bit, because it keeps him in the loop and keeps things interesting, but he doesn't spread it- and he prefers gossip with truth in it, anyway. Which is most gossip, as far as he's concerned.

Gavin walks in, beaming, a bit after the speech ends and people have begun to either chatter amongst themselves and enter the hotel. He is met with a few decisions: push forward to Cassius at the front of the group, or engage some of the people who are keeping very much to themselves at the back of the group. This label seems to match quite a few people. With a happy compromise, he rushes forward, "accidentally" bumping Lykos [he's memorized all the names, of course] into Hazel and Dennis, who are reasonably near to each other. "Sorry about that. Excuse me," he apologizes with little sincerity, smiling cheerily at them before swimming through the rest of the people and reaching the spot just next to Cassius. The boy is, of course, walking alone. Something which is far from surprising.

"Oddly warm, eh?" Gavin comments with a smile. This is something which he had observed earlier, in fact. 50 seemed rather warm for January in New York, anyway, but then he is not really a native of the city, regardless of how many times he has visited it, and can't say this with any real certainty. So he does anyway, naturally. The scowl on Cassius's face his characteristic, of course, but rather than frightening Gavin only makes the young man grin a little bit. "I can tell by your expression that you are on the merry road to making friends. Who're your roommates?"

Knowing Cassius, the young man probably very much dislikes the fact that he is being made to have roommates at all. Gavin is quite fortunate in having his own room, yet would quite gladly have roommates as well. He likes to have people about, whenever possible. It's the sort of thing one can likely surmise simply by watching him walk or talk: he practically screams extrovert. Perhaps a bit of arrogance as well, but even Gavin could not deny that he can be a bit cocky at times. Necessary for a host, he assures anyone who asks.

Lykos Morrow
Image

Lykos is practically a grade A wallflower, considering how long he's been able to go so far without no one paying any attention to him. He supposes it was all those gym classes that he skipped, instead hiding in the far corner of the bleachers and busying himself with things that were actually important, like reading or homework or the newest Game Informer. Sure, the only console he has was a old PS2- which he loved, don't get me wrong -, but he still loved to keep up with the newest games and such. The most exciting thing that had happened to him this year- other than this trip, he supposed -was the Xbox One being released. He knew a friend that was planning on getting one, and you could guarantee that as soon as Wolf got back from this vacation he was going straight to his friends house.

Already lost in thought, Lykos was barely able to keep himself from falling when someone pushed past him. What he wasn't able to stop though, was him falling into the brown haired boy in front of him, who he grabbed onto for support. And in an attempt to get off of him as soon as possible, he bumped shoulders with the girl next to him. When he finally straightened up, his cheeks were bright red and he had already begun to sink into himself, the barely five foot two boy trying to get impossibly smaller as if that would make him disappear from their sight. "I am so sorry Hazel, and, er, oh damn I've forgotten your name..." He ran his hands through his hair, making it messier than it was already. The girls name had been easy to remember, Hazel, like the color. It was unique as he'd heard, something he appreciated considering his own name, but unlike his, he thought her's was very pretty.

He had taken time to remember most of the peoples names, mostly associating them with one of their features, or something he knew, to remember them. If his brain wasn't moving at a thousand thoughts a second right then, he probably would have been able to recall the boys name, but unfortunately, no such luck for poor Wolfie. "I really am so sorry... Just, this guy bumped into me and I was sort of lost in thought, so I went flying..." His accent made him have to carefully pronounce some words, or most people couldn't understand him. He also had to slow down when he spoke, since it was habit to talk fast. Though he'd reverted into both of these habits right then, since he was both uncomfortable and nervous.

Immediately upon entering the city, Jules knew that she was in some sort of love with it. She'd been to large enough cities before, sometimes for state competitions, but hardly anything that can compare to New York City. And the weather was significantly warmer than the negative two she'd just left behind in Central Idaho. This is the sort of place she wants, the girl is quite certain- large, with lots of people and therefore far more diversity than Nowheresville, Idaho could ever even begin to hope to offer. The trip to the hotel is rather quick, which she finds regrettable because looking around proves to be an enjoyment in its own right. As she does pull up to the Four Seasons, it occurs to her that this 'big-eyed rural girl' thing will have her looking rather dumb indeed. It is easily hidden, luckily, the initial awe of the city fading away to her characteristic grin, a goofy thing which seems to promise a lame joke or a stupid face.

Seeing that most of everyone else has already passed through the doors into the hotel, Jules makes quick work of gathering her things- consisting of two normal backpacks and one drawstring pack. Perhaps she packed a bit lightly for a full year of traveling, but Jules isn't exactly the sort who owns lots of clothing to begin with, and so it can be certain that she has actually packed a good portion of her wardrobe. This is perfectly adequate for the girl- she found very quickly, while going through security and the like for the plane trip here, that traveling light suits her quite nicely.

Jules does her best to assign names to faces once she has entered the hotel and sees the people making their slow way to the elevators, or perhaps the stairs, or wherever else. Any concentration on this task she might have had is broken when a boy pushes past her, and then past another group of people [all but shoving one of the other people into two others] before he reaches the front. Only seeing the back of his head, Jules can't really say that she has a solid guess on who he is, but she had caught a flash of the face of the director's son, whatever his name is, and can therefore guess that the pushing boy had been the host of the show, and only person who seems willing to speak to the son for more than a few sentences at a time.

Well, this is fun, Jules thinks to herself, raising an eyebrow. In a split decision, hardly a difficult one to make, she branches off from the group and heads to the stairs. 52nd floor, was it? she thinks, grinning before making her way up the stairs. If she gets very tired, the girl might stop and take the elevator from a higher floor. More likely, however, she'll be stubborn, and be the last one to her room because she has decided that climbing 52 flights of stairs sounds more interesting than taking the elevator with a crowd of awkward-seeming strangers.
