Image Name: Phoenix Rahaim

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 155lbs

Sexuality: Pansexual

Job: Spy

Appearance: Phoenix is relatively tall and she has a somewhat muscular, athletic build. Her skin is very dark and she has elegant facial features. She has dark eyes and full lips. Phoenix generally always wears makeup, though not for others so much as it is for the fun of it. She wears her hair in a large, curly afro style and she takes excellent care of it. Phoenix generally likes to wear comfortable clothing when possible, opting for stretchy pants or leggings with long tank tops or t-shirts and, if it's cold, a sweater or jacket. She loves to dress up when she can, though, and she enjoys wearing bright colours and bold patterns. She usually wears either tall high heels, heeled boots, or ballerina-style flat shoes. Usually, Phoenix can be seen wearing some sort of jewelry.

Personality: Phoenix has two very different sides to her personality. When Phoenix is focusing on her work, she tends to be very quiet and serious. She's an excellent listener and very observant, though she can sometimes come across as cold and standoffish if she doesn't deem you relevant or important. Phoenix is quite perceptive and can usually tell when somebody is lying or withholding information. When she needs information she tends to find it by asking around, blackmailing, or snooping through somebody else's things as she's never really had the heart for torture. She is a decent fighter. When she isn't focused on her work, though she is highly guarded, she can be a lot of fun. She cares deeply about others when she's had time to build a relationship with them and she enjoys going out and doing things, no matter what the thing is. She's very open-minded and has a tendency to be something of a people-pleaser. She does, however, enjoy pushing others out of their comfort zones.

History/Bio: Phoenix was raised in the world of organized crime and was exposed to a lot of messy things from a young age. Her father took part in all sorts of messy business and her mother worked as a prostitute, in addition to helping her husband with his illicit work. As a little girl, Phoenix's father liked to use her to lure in victims - usually young women - who he'd then kidnap, usually to sell. Phoenix would be dressed in rags and told to attract the target's attention, to ask her as sweetly as possible for help, and then to lead her to an agreed-upon spot so that her father and his men could snatch the woman up. Phoenix grew accustomed to falling asleep to the sound of people pleading for freedom or screaming as they were tortured. She didn't enjoy helping her parents, but she wasn't aware that she had a choice in the matter.

When Phoenix was only sixteen years old, her father essentially traded her virginity as part of a business transaction, leaving her at the mercy of a pair of his friends and informing her that she wasn't permitted to fight against them or she'd be disowned. It was on that night that Phoenix decided she'd had enough of her parents and their shady dealings and she decided to take them down for once and for all. She started to gather all the information she could, taking notes of meeting spots, times and dates, names of individuals, code names, and all the information she could find. Once she'd gathered together as much as she could and had implicated as many of her father's friends and associates as possible, Phoenix took this information to the rulers of her Kingdom. Over the next few weeks, the guards performed several raids, capturing most of the people involved with Phoenix's family and freeing several of their victims, prisoners, and hostages.

The royal family deemed Phoenix a hero of their Kingdom and gave her as much as they could in return for her aid - they signed over her parents' home to her, gave her money and jewels, offered her servants, and assured her that if there was ever anything she needed, they would provide it for her. Phoenix had realized that she was actually quite good at undercover work, having kept her actions a secret from her parents and successfully collected all the information she needed. She'd also used stealth skills to break into rooms, drawers, cabinets, etc. that she wasn't permitted to enter, and she decided that she wanted to continue doing similar work. She started to take formal training through the royal family and became a spy for them.

One day, Phoenix was approached by Sophia Bradley and asked to undertake some highly sensitive work. Sophia revealed to her that her younger brother, Weston, who was supposedly dead, was actually alive and well and living a while away. Sophia had a pair of spies who kept tabs on him but one of them had just stepped down because she wanted to get married and start a family, so she needed somebody new to replace that spy. Phoenix agreed to do the work, despite the stipulation that the royal family was not permitted to find out that Weston was alive, and she cleaned out her home to rent it out - having Sophia collect the rent money on her behalf - while she was away.

For several years now, Phoenix has been following Weston. She always keeps herself at a distance from him, observing only and sending private couriers back to Sophia with the information she gathers. She has interacted directly with Weston only once - accidentally, when she was in line at a coffee shop getting a drink and he came in and got in line behind her - but has interacted indirectly with him on many occasions. She was responsible for persuading his publishers to take a chance on his novel - through blackmail, of course - and she keeps dangerous people away from him; for his good looks he has been targeted by more than one parties in the human trade business, and his secretive nature has drawn the attention of individuals looking to learn more about him.

Now, Weston has moved to the floating islands to be closer to his new publisher and has taken up residence with a young woman who owns a chocolate shop. Phoenix, naturally protective over Weston after having spent so many years observing and protecting, has taken it upon herself to go undercover on the floating islands to continue observing for Sophia - and to find out about the young woman with whom Weston is living, though that part may purely be selfish intrigue.

So begins...

Lance popped a bite of ice cream in his mouth. "They did. I came home to a very bashful girlfriend who could not even look at me because she was so embarrassed that she got suckered into buying a wedding dress when she wasnt even engaged in the first place. It was kind of funny." He said and then shook his head. "Well apparently it was all in good fun and what not. She said he seemed so damn confused. Some times I wonder if she's an actual demon"

Phoenix burst out laughing when he said that his girlfriend had been embarrassed about buying the dress. "I'll bet it looked amazing on her, though, and at least she had it if she needed it," she said with a smile. When he said that he wondered if Amira was an actual demon, she giggled a bit. "She probably is. But that's okay. Weston seems prepared to handle it," she said with a shrug, starting eagerly in on her ice cream.

Lance laughed a little. "Well im sure she did. Kind of glad she got to do all of that." He said and shrugged a little. He munched at his ice cream and then nodded. "He certainly seems like he's prepared to handle all of that for sure." He mumbled a little bit. "Well, at least he's up for a challenge huh? They seem happy."

Phoenix smiled a bit when he said that he was glad his last girlfriend at least got to get all the dress shopping and whatnot done before her untimely demise. "I'm sure she had a lot of fun with it, too," she said to him softly. She nodded her agreement when he said that Weston was up for a challenge and that they were happy. "They sure do seem happy. It's like something from a fairytale, their little love story," she said with a giggle. "We're happy and adorable too, but the only fairytale we've got is the beginning when we were joking about a man being at the door and you were there. Everything else about us has been pretty normal - fast, but normal," she giggled.

Lance nodded. "From what I have heard about their little outing, she most certainly did." He said and then nodded a little bit. "It is pretty much like a fairy tail." He said and then shook his head. "Well, perhaps we dont need fairy tail. I mean, we move pretty fast and thats probably why we didnt do the fairy tail things. Thats not very much like either of us either. " He said and chuckled a little bit.

Phoenix smiled when he said that his last girlfriend had enjoyed herself out dress shopping. She nodded at his comment that they didn't need a fairytale. "Yeah. I want to say we've both been through too much shit for a fairytale, but Weston and Amira have been through some shit, too. Maybe it's just because of who they are - I mean, he's a prince, that's fairytale stuff in and of itself, and Amira's this beautiful elf who ran away from her tribe and whatnot. We're just normal people who've been through some difficult shit and just deserve to get to the happiness at the end of the line already."

Lance smirked a little. "The fairy tail stuff suits those two more than it does us." He said and popped another spoonful of ice cream in his mouth. "When Aiden and I first met Amira, he thought she looked like some kind of exotic forest princess or something. So I guess a prince is fitting for her. I was just wondering how she ended up looking the way that she does. She's kind of a funny mix of traits." He said and then shrugged a little bit. "I wonder if they think about it as some kind of fairytail like we do..." He said and then blinked, he wasnt really sure.

Phoenix giggled a little when he said that Aiden had thought Amira looked like some kind of exotic forest princess. "Well, he's not wrong," she said softly. "Amira's so pretty. The first time I saw her, I thought she was just stunning. I was totally rooting for her and Weston to end up being a thing, although at the time I was just supposed to be investigating her since she was his new roommate and whatnot," she said. She paused slightly, smirking a bit. "Although, her first words to me were something to the effect of 'dear lord, you're pretty' so I guess she felt the same way about me when she first saw me," she giggled.

Lance couldnt help but laugh a little bit. "This once time, since the two of us both have blue eyes, we managed to convince visiting nobles that we were actually siblings and that Amira was simply the product of a second marriage and so she had a different mother. I still dont know how we pulled that off, we look nothing alike, but they bought it." He said and then chuckled. "Well, she's not wrong about that. You are gorgeous."

Phoenix burst out laughing when Lance told her about pretending that he and Amira were half-siblings. "That's adorable!" she said with a shake of her head. "I mean, you might as well be siblings with how close you are, but I never would have bought that. I also like to consider myself smarter than he average noblewoman, of course," she said with a smirk, though her smirk quickly faded into a goofy smile and her cheeks went red when he told her that she was gorgeous. "Thanks, babe. I try," she said with a bit of a giggle before she ate some more ice cream. "You're not so bad looking yourself," she added teasingly.

Lance shook his head. "It was pretty hilarious. Amira was still pretty new to the whole living at the villa as a sort of noble woman, and she thought this lady was so dumb for believing us." He said and then smirked when she turned a little bit red. "Ooh well thanks. I try to stay fabulous." He said and made a motion like he was flipping the hair he had tied back.

Phoenix laughed softly and shook her head. "Knowing Amira, I doubt she ever got used to living as a sort-of noblewoman. I know I never got used to it. Back then, to me, it was kinda like...two years ago I'm being raped by like four criminals, and now I'm living in this huge fancy house with all these nice dresses and I'm expected to join the Queen and her daughters for tea at noon. How do you deal with such a drastic shift in your life? It was hard," she said. When he pretended to flip back his hair, she giggled a bit. She had just finished up her ice cream so she moved slightly, getting up on her knees on the couch so she could reach up and untie his hair.

Lance chuckled and shook his head. "No, not quite. I mean, she was getting there, but then she decided she was going to leave and figure out life on her own." He said and shrugged. "I'm sure you adjusted swimmingly. Or at least made it look like you had. You're pretty good at things like that. You always seem to have your shit together, even if it might not actually be that way." He said and watched as she moved to untie his hair, letting her go ahead and do it.

Phoenix smiled a bit and nodded. "I'm sure Amira could have adjusted if she'd wanted to stick around but I can't see her staying in that kind of life. I imagine she'd find it rather stifling. That's why I started doing the spy work. I just couldn't spend my days cooped up in that house being someone that I'm not," she said. She leaned in and rested her head against his gently, letting her fingers comb gently through his hair. "These days I always seem to have my shit together but back then that wasn't the case. I had a lot of issues...and a lot of anger. Sophia saw that and that was why she started teaching me to fight. She thought it would help me to deal with it effectively, and she was right."

Lance shook his head. "Amira is pretty quick to leave any place that threatens to stifle the way that she wishes to leave." He said and then nodded a little bit. "I took this job at the museum because I was starting to become the most reclusive person back at home. I was growing increasingly bored with pretty much all of the ways that life as a noble could be. Coming here was definitley the breath of fresh air that I really needed." He said with a little bit of a shrug. "Some times I do miss the Villa though."

Phoenix smiled a bit when he said that he'd been becoming reclusive back home. "See, more things in common. I was basically hiding out in my big shiny mansion because I just...didn't want to deal with all the fuss of going out and being this wealthy, important person. Even when I started working for Weston's parents, I would pretty much only leave to work a job. I'll never understand how Sophia is so intuitive, but I think she saw that I hated the way things had turned out for me and that's why she put me on the Weston job. Being out in the world tracking the long-dead prince was way more fun than being cooped up at home."

Lance chuckled. "I basically didnt leave the damn study. My grandmother had me seen by a doctor because she was worried that I was sick or something because i'd stay in there and not bother with people all day, and then just retreat back to my room at night becuase I really just didnt want to deal with the hassles of being a nobleman, especially not at home, but it seems we almost always had visitors so it was a pain in the backside." He said and shook his head slightly. "This is tons better, here I can act like any other normal person."

Phoenix smiled as she listened to him, and then she carefully moved into his lap, facing him and sliding her arms around his neck. "I'm glad that, of all the noblemen I could have fallen for, it was the one who seems to feel the same way about that life as me," she said to him softly, resting her head against his. "The Queen tried to set me up with men, you know, but I wasn't interested in any of them," she said with a giggle. "Well, actually, that's not entirely true. Princess Nicole's husband had an attractive enough cousin, but I didn't want anything serious and he didn't want to fuck me til he'd married me, so that was just out of the question," she giggled.

Lance slid his arms around Phoenix when she moved into his lap. "I'm just glad that you understand that being in a noble house hold isnt all fun and games just because theres lots of money about. " He said and then chuckled a little bit. "Well arent I glad that I never was one of those guys that actually wanted to follow that silly rule about screwing before marriage." He said and leaned in to kiss her softly.

[time skip bitches]

When Weston woke up, he smiled a bit with the knowledge that it was Halloween. He couldn't wait to see Amira's costume, and he knew she was excited to see his, so he was excited for her to see it. He kissed Amira's sleeping forehead and then got up, momentarily disoriented by actually waking up in his own room for once. He doubted that she'd want to go for a run this morning, not on her day off, so he pulled on some sweatpants and headed downstairs to start making breakfast. He had found some cute breakfast ideas in a holiday cookbook so he was making some cinnamon rolls that would be decorated to look like pumpkins and some sage and pumpkin flavoured pancakes which he'd top with a dollop of whipped cream and two chocolate chips so they looked like adorable ghosts.

Phoenix awoke the next morning and immediately found herself excited. Halloween wasn't even around the corner any more, it was just here. She thought about getting out of bed, but her body had naturally gotten up early enough to head to work and she didn't have work, so she decided to laze around a while longer and see if she could get to sleep. She snuggled in closer to her sleeping Lance and closed her eyes.
