Adrian's entire body probably turned a shade of bright red, but he glared at her, determination in his eyes. He was not going to lose this war. "No. You can not sway me by trying to make me uncomfortable. We could sit like this all night and I wont move my hand" He said stubbornly even though he refused to look up at Lorelei.
She sat like that while she thought about it and sat completely on his hand. She leaned down and laid on top of him. The warmth of the fire was getting to her, but she was thinking of ways to move his hand. Before she knew it she began singing while thinking of ways.

Adrian closed his eyes and listened to Loreleis singing. He wondered if she knew that she was only helping him calm. He wasnt going to tell her that though, he might actually win if he could keep from wanting to crawl to the other side of the room. Adrian smirked and used his free hand to tickle Lorelei's side.
Lorelei stopped singing and laughed. She sat back up and held his free hand, smirking evilly. "You really shouldn't have given me your free hand, Adrian. Tis Tis." She said and placed his hand where she had it that night, but she held his hand tightly so he couldn't move it without using his other hand. Her eyes narrowed in victory, "Give it up, Kid." She smiled.
Adrian laughed a little "I already told you that this will not deter me from winning. I'm completely fine, we can sit like this all night long if you're going to be that stubborn about it. And you're the kid here, kiddo." He said sticking his tongue out at her. "You should just give up now before you tire yourself out" He teased and closed his eyes again, insinuating that he was so relaxed he could fall asleep.
Lorelei sighed and stood up, looking down. "Second to last resort..." She whispered and blushed as she took off her sweater. It was freezing, but she was doing it for the belly button. Her eyes looked down to his hand and then back up to his face. Sat down next to him and started for her bra. "Your choice, Adrian."
Adrians eyes got really wide before he slammed them shut. "Okay okay I give up! Jeezus Lorelei. Why would you do that...." He said and then slowly moved his hand away from his stomach and put both hands over his completely red face. "You win...Put your sweater back on ya perv." He said sounding defeated. "Putting me through all of that over a belly button..." He grumbled into his hands as he pouted about losing the war. Adrian didnt want to let things go any further though, Lorelei really didnt have any boundaries apparently.
Lorelei laughed in victory as she dressed and poked his belly button. "I told you... no one ever listens to me. I have died for crying out loud." She kissed his cheek and headed for the cot. She knew she took thinks a bit far, but she was competitive and that kind of took over. "I will still sing to you if you want... as a sorry." She said softly. Lorelei would have to tell Loris this story later though, since he was the only one who didn't seem to cry or threaten to arrest Adrian.
Adrian rolled onto his side and curled up into a half assed ball, just staring off at the fire for a minute. "You better sing. You were so mean to me Lorelei. So incredibly mean. I definitely deserve a song for being such a gentleman about it." He said nodding his head before sitting up criss cross style with his elbows on his knees his head in his hands as he looked over at her. "Well go on then. get to singing" He said with a smile.
She frowned, "I didn't mean to be mean..." She said before thinking of what song to sing for him. It took a minute but she found one. She hugged her knees to her chest and began to sing.

Adrian just about melted when Lorelei sang. He had heard a lot of people sing, but no one else made him feel so at peace with just their voice alone. When she was done Adrian stood up and walked over to the cot and then sat down next to Lorelei for a minute before flopping onto his side and taking Lorelei with him, wrapping his arms around her and hiding his face in her hair. "Payback" He whispered softly.

She smiled and blushed at the same time. He was so close to her. "I like this payback." She whispered back to him before gently pulling him closer. She didn't want to let him go. She didn't want him to leave her again. Lorelei thought she would be okay with this but she realized just how painful it was all over again. "I love you..." She said just below a whisper.
Adrian just enjoyed having Lorelei close to him in a way that didnt make him a complete and total nervous wreck. He knew he had messed up though, he didnt want to let go. Didnt want to leave to go back to teaching. He wished he could just freeze time and stay with Lorelei forever. She whispered something that was too low for him to hear, so he wiggled down a little so that they were face to face, just inches from each other. "what did you say? I couldnt hear you..." He said softly, his lips nearly touching hers as he spoke.
Lorelei blushed and she would have looked away, but everywhere she looked there was a piece of Adrian. She looked up at him and smiled softly, "I... I love you, Adrian." She whispered not realizing she was crying. Lorelei had froze, she was so scared of moving and losing him. Her hands gently pressed against his chest. Everything in her was screaming for her to run though, like being right there at the moment was killing her.
Adrian smiled and nuzzled Lorelei's forehead. "I love you too..." He whispered back to her. Adrian looked down and his smile faded as he gently wiped Lorelei's tears away with his thumb. "Whats wrong?" He asked. Adrian hated seeing Lorelei cry, nothing made him feel worse than when she was sad or hurt. He wished his didnt have to leave, that he would have missed something during his evaluation so that he never would have left in the first place. "Is it because I have to leave again...?"
She nodded softly. She couldn't find the words to tell him. He would have to leave anyway and she could do nothing to stop him. Those two months were still lonely when she left the lab. She still had to go home alone. She still had to wake up and not have him come over or see him at the lab. Nothing made the pain fully go away. She was going to miss his warmth, the warmth she couldn't find anywhere. "It.... It is still lonely without you." She whispered as she cried silently, real tears now. "I still have to come home alone and wake up knowing you won't be coming or be at the lab."
Adrian plled Lorelei as close to him and he could and held her tightly. "I know..I hate it too...I cant just show up and take my spot in the corner while you work. And I miss wondering if you're goingto show up at the lab and cause trouble for my co-workers or eat all of Blair's candy with me...It's only for three more months though...And then I promise I'll never go anywhere without you again...I dont like not being able to see you...You're the only person who makes me feel kind of normal..Three more months and then I promise you'll see me so much you'll be wishing you could get rid of me.." He said, gently rubbing her back as she cried.
She wiped her tears away, "Three... months." She whispered back to him before curling into him. She could drown in his warmth and be okay with it. If death felt like Adrian she would gladly accept. She looked at him and traced his face with her finger tip. She made sure she studied every inch of his face while he was here. She ran her fingertip over his nose and lips. "I could drown in your warmth..." She said softly, almost dazed by him.
Adrian frowned at Lorelei. "What did I tell you about drowning? It's not allowed, I forbid it. I refuse to let that happen." He said stubbornly. "I dont care how warm I am, you cant drown." Lorelei looked way too cute as she seemed to be a little dazed and out of it. Adrian leaning in and kissed her, cupping her face gently with his hand.
She kissed him back and smiled, "Gosh darn, Adrian. Let me have some fun." She said softly, almost a whisper. She was falling asleep against him, "You... smell... like rain and..." She fell asleep against him. Lorelei was emotionally tired and the warmth from him and the fireplace didn't help her any either. She had tried fighting it as long as possible so she could spend as much time with him as she could.
Adrian looked down at the very obviously sleepy Lorelei. "You should go to bed if you're tired Lor, I'll be here in the morning I promise. " He said softly, stroking her cheek gently. "You gotta go to sleep in your bed, we talked about this remember?" He said sitting up a little and poking at your cheek. "Plus if we fall asleep like this and your sister walks in before we wake up she's going to murder me on the spot." He said with a nervous laugh.
Lorelei mumbled, "Mmm... she won't... come over... babies." She said tiredly and curled closer to him." She heard his nervous laugh and slowly got up before taking his hand, "Then to my bed... she won't come in there." She said softly with one eye open. Pulled him to her room and closed the door before climbing in her bed and sliding under the covers. "So... cold." She said shivering.
Adrian just blinked at Lorelei. He had meant for her to sleep in her own bed by herself but she seemed to be half asleep and missed that thought apparently. She shivered and he felt bad for making her move away from the fire so he sighed a little and crawled into the bed with her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back close to his chest. "Good night Lorelei." He whispered before he finally let the exhaustion from the day take hold as he drifted off to sleep.
Lorelei woke up the next morning to Adrian sleeping in her bed and froze. She didn't even remember when she got in her own bed. She tried to think back to the last thing she remembered and it was being on the cot and crying. She watched him sleep for a bit, he was so peaceful. She moved the hair out of his face and smiled. Lorelei loved this feeling and being able to see him right when she woke up.

Adrian had slept better than he probably ever had and he woke up to Lorelei playing with his hair. At first he just groggily blinked at her, then realized she was touching his hair and followed her arm until he saw her face and he smiled up at her. "Good morning." He said as he sat up and stretched before realizing he was in her bed and then froze for a second before waking up completely and remembering what happened the night before. "Dod you sleep okay?" He asked rubbing one of his eyes.
