Jessie Liles

It was 5:00 am. on a Friday morning, the sun was partially up and there were people awake and going to work. The sun came through the hotel's partially open shade, Jessie moaned and turned over to get the sun out of her face. She then felt someone touch her side, and she flinched, but calmed down when she heard, '' Jessie, babe, wake up. You don't want to be late on your first day at the Institute, do you?'' It was her mother's kind and loving voice, Jessie smiled and gently sat up. She blinked a couple of times to get used to the sun, she looked at her mom and smiled. Jessie took a deep breath and said, '' Do I really have a choice?'' She said that as she got up off of the bed and walked over to her bag to get out a clean pair of clothes. She grabbed a pair of dark blue jeans, a white tee-shirt, and her purple hoodie. Before her mom could answer her, Jessie heard a knock on the hotel room's door, Jessie walked over and looked out to see her brother and dad with their stuff already packed. Jessie smiled and unlocked the door and opened it, she smiled and said, '' Morning dad, Luke .'' She said that as her father and brother walked in, Luke ran onto the bed and began to jump on it. Jessie only smiled and walked over to the bathroom to get into her clean clothes and out of her PJ's.

While Jessie was getting dressed her mom looked at her father and said, '' I don't know what to do Aaron. Jessie doesn't want to go still. I understand, but she's just making it harder.'' Jessie's dad nodded and said, '' I knew she would be rejecting it at first. But Jessie's smart, she'll do the right thing and go to that school. She just needs time accepting her power.'' Her mother nodded and they sat down and began to talk as they waited for Jessie to be done. Jessie came out about fifteen minutes later, she was dressed and had all of her stuff. She packed up her stuff and said, '' Let's go.'' She said that with a slight sigh and walked out the hotel room's door. Her family came out with their things and followed her as she walked to the car. They put all their belongings in the trunk and got in. Jessie sat in the back and looked out the window as they got onto the main road. Jessie closed her eyes again, since they would be driving for another two hours, she wanted to get some more sleep.

It only seemed like two minutes later when she was awoken from her sleep, she looked up and saw that they were at the Institute. She sighed and got out of the car, with her back pack on her back and she looked at the old building. She then said, '' Nice job bringing your kid to a death trap just waiting to happen.'' She said that as she walked away from the car and up to the old, huge X-Mansion. Her parents only sighed and followed her with her duffle bag, her guitar and her suit case. Jessie walked up to the top step, and knocked on it. When her hand touched the door, it opened and she took a deep breath and stepped in. Her parents and brother followed her in the Mansion. She almost dropped her bag as she looked at all the old things they had in the building. There were armor suits, couches, chairs, old pictures on the walls. Jessie couldn't talk, she was just in shock of how nice this place was, she thought it was going to be old and falling apart, but it looked like they just built it the other day.

Jessie and her family were looking at all the things when they heard someone, '' Can I help you?'' They looked from where the voice came from and they saw a tall, middle aged man with huge side burns standing there in the arch way. Jessie swallowed hard and kept quiet, her father looked at the man and said, '' Um, yes. We are the Liles, our daughter Jessie is supposed to live here now.'' The man cracked his knuckles and said,'' Oh, welcome then. My name is Logan Howlett. But Jessie will learn to call me Wolverine.'' Jessie smiled when she heard what he said, she then spoke up and said, '' You're Wolverine? That's so cool. I heard how you and the rest of the X-Men saved the mutant world from distruction. That's so cool. '' Logan looked at her and then looked at her father, he then said, '' Your daughter needs to register and then unpack her things. Then she must go and talk to Professor X.'' He looked at them and walked away.

Jessie's family looked at her an smiled, her mother walked over to her and gave her a hug. Jessie looked at her mom and said, '' What's wrong? Aren't you going to come and take a look around? Her mother looked at her and sighed, her father then said, '' Jess, we can't come in and look around. We're human, our kind isn't aloud to see what's here.'' He gave her a hug and kissed her cheek, he then walked out and went to the car. Jessie looked at her mom and gave her a tight hug, she gave Luke a hug and just stood there as she watched her family walk out the door and leave. Jessie started to cry, but she stopped and went to go get registered.

Bobby Drake

It was 7:00 am. in the morning when Bobby's alarm when off. He sighed and sat up, he blinked as the morning sun came through his bedroom window. He looked around and was about to lay back down when he remembered today was Friday and that new mutants were coming. He jumped pit of bed and grabbed a gray tee shirt, his blue hoodie, his jeans and his sneakers. He got dressed and gelled his hair and looked in the mirror. He smiled and walked out of his room. He looked around and saw some of his fellow mutants walking around already, he smiled and waved to them and said, '' Good morning.'' to them as he would pass by. He made his way to the main stairs and walked down them. He looked around and walked into the kitchen to get some breakfast. He made a bowl of cereal and sat down in the main dining hall and began to eat his bowl of Fruity Pebbles.

Sara Laughlin had been up for hours. Well.. up, sure. Awake? Not so much. The sun hadn't been up when she'd slogged out of one of the guest rooms like a zombie, muttering about coffee and cursing jet lag unto five generations. Even the act of pulling on her fatigue pants, boots, and an underarmor shirt had strained the boundaries of her abilities. Standing in the kitchen, she'd stared blearily at the familiar coffee maker like it was a piece of alien technology before stabbing at enough buttons that blessed hot, black, caffeinated nectar of the gods bubbled out into her mug.

On the second cup, she'd finally regained consciousness, and by then the rest of the mansion was starting to stir. "Logan! You're out of beer." She advises the burly man as he tromps passed the doorway. Her comment earns her a growled threat that he was going to remind her of previous ass kickings, and Sara feels awake enough to flash his glower a toothy grin, "Hey, I've grown up and you're still an old man. Maybe this time I'll win."

He just snorted and continued on to harass someone coming through the front doors, and Sara snickered wistfully. She doubted she'd have any such chance, but the dance was half the fun. Everyone was still somber after the incident that claimed Jean's life. Sara was no different; Grey had been someone she deeply respected, but the more normal she could make life seem, the easier it felt to keep going.

Standing still for a minute, she revels in the familiarity. The sounds, the smells, the feel. It was all comfortably 'home' to her, and a brief flash of sadness makes her reconsider why she ever left it all in the first place. But, leaning against the counter, the ominous pressure of the knife at the small of her back reminds her. If this place was going to stay this tranquil, this safe, then the world needed people like the X-men who were willing to die to defend it... and monsters like her who would kill for the same.

"Well -that- is way too emo for this early in the gorram morning." she chuckles with a shake of her head, finishing off her coffee and curiously wandering out into the hallway to see just what the Registration Day cat would drag in through those ancient double doors....

Alexandra Calvo Clemente

Bright rays of pure sunlight filtered through the curtains that were in front of the hotel window. Those rays seemed to find themselves upon the face of a sleeping girl.

“Ughhhh… Sun, why can’t you be less bright?” Alex mumbled to herself, grabbing a pillow and shoving it over her face. She still wasn’t too sure about all of this, a school for mutants in an entirely different country… It’s a good thing I can speak English… She thought quietly to herself. A sudden knock on her door pushed her into a defensive position.

“Alex… Wake up ...” The door creaked open to reveal the face of her uncle.

“I’m awake!” Alex grumbled, flopping back down on the bed. She was not a morning person.

“Then get up! We need to get going.” He ordered, nodding towards to door.

“Yayaya I’m going…” Alex muttered, heaving herself off of the bed. She shoved her uncle out of the room and began getting dressed. She wanted to go simple for today, so she tossed on a button up shirt, some ripped jeans, and her black combat boots. Her things were already all packed up into her suitcase. She was ready to go. And that made her sad.

Alex trudged into the kitchen. The hotel room was actually very nice; her parents had a lot of money. She searched through the fridge, but it was pitifully empty. Alex sighed and pulled out a small apple and took a large bite. It was sweet enough.

“Let’s go, Alex.” Her uncle was nice, but a bit bossy. Alex sighed and took her guitar and threw it onto her back and grabbed her suitcase.

“I’m ready, Tio.” Alex muttered bluntly.

Her uncle suddenly cracked a huge grin and planted a heavy hand on her shoulder. “Loosen up. You’re not going to make friends like that.”

“Ya. I know. Let’s just go…” Alex sighed, walked through the door. Her uncle watched her, with concern in his eyes.

The drive was actually rather short. They had rented a hotel in the city, so they were close. They pulled up, and Alex’s jaw dropped in amazement. The building was beautiful. She couldn’t believe this was where she was staying for the next few months. Her uncle parked his car and they both clambered out. Alex couldn’t take her eyes off of the gorgeous building as her uncle pulled her things from the car.

Alex’s mood had increased significantly. She was literally skipping with joy as they approached the immense mansion. She shoved through the doors hollering, “HELLOOOO!” She projected her voice to echo throughout the building. “Wow! That’s so cool!” Alex jumped up in happiness. Her uncle let out a hearty chuckle.

“Never grow up, got it?” He said, staring down at Alex with chocolate brown eyes.

“Trust me Tio, I don’t think I ever will.” Alex flashed a pearly white smile.

“Well, I gotta get going. My flight leaves in two hours. I’ll call you when I get home.” Her uncle placed her things on the floor, and threw his arms open. Alex leapt into them in a huge bear hug as he squeezed the air out of her lungs.

“Tio… you’re… crushing me… gaaaa…” Alex tried to breath in. Her uncle chuckled again, dropping her into the floor. Alex started sucking in air, trying to refill her lungs with oxygen.

“Adios, Alex.” He bent over and kissed her forehead, then waved as he left the building.

“Goodbye…” Alex said, rather halfheartedly. She watched, kind of sad, as he pulled out of the driveway. “Now, to find the registration... umm... place…” She sighed and pulled her guitar over her shoulder and her suitcase behind her and began to wander the building, doomed to get lost.

Jessie Liles and Bobby Drake.

After Jessie's family left, she sighed and looked around. Jessie had no idea where to go,she then said in a loud voice, '' Can anyone help? I'm lost. '' Bobby was in the dining hall when he heard a girl's voice say '' Can anyone help? I'm lost.'' Bobby stood up and walked out of the dinging hall and went to go see. He found a tall, pretty, brown haired girl around his age, standing in the main hall. He cleared his throat and walked up to her, he looked at her and said, '' My name is Bobby Drake, and I can help you with whatever it is.'' Jessie turned around and saw who was talking to her, she smiled and said in her sweet and soft voice, '' Oh, thank you. It's a pleasure to meet you Bobby, I'm Jessie Liles. I'm new and I need help getting registered and then I have to go and talk to Professor X.'' She said with a cheerful smile.

Bobby looked at Jessie and smiled, he then said, '' Of course Jessie. I'll take you to registration. Then I'll hand you over to a female student who can take you to your room. Then after that you must meet Professor X.'' He looked at her and smiled, he then looked at her stuff and said, '' You have loads of stuff. Leave them here and a staff member will bring them to your room. So when your done you can walk to your room without such a heavy load. Since it's a long walk to your room.'' He smiled as he said that. Jessie looked at him and said, '' Thank you Bobby. And sure, lead the way.'' Jessie said that as she motioned Bobby to lead her to the registration room. Bobby took her up the stairs, then they took a right, then walked down the hall for a minute, then took a left into a room. There was a worker behind a desk and she was on the computer.

Bobby looked at her and said, '' Marie, we have a new student.'' Marie looked up and said,'' Of course. All she needs to do, is fill this paper out and she's done.'' Marie handed Jessie the paper and pen, Jessie took the paper and pen and started to fill it out. It had, date of birth, name, age, gender, grade, date, ect. Jessie filled it all out in five minutes. Jessie handed the paper and pen back to Marie and she said, '' Thank you Marie. Have a nice day.'' Jessie smiled and walked out the door with Bobby close behind her. Marie smiled and waved good bye to them. Bobby looked at Jessie and said, '' Alright, Jessie. You can find your room now right? You have the room number on that piece of paper. What room is it and who are you rooming with?'' Bobby said that as he moved a little closer to Jessie. Jessie looked at him and gave him her kind and sweet smile. She looked at the paper and said, '' I'm in room LB73 in the Right wing, rooming with a Kitty Pryde.'' Jessie looked at Bobby after she said that.

Bobby smiled and said, '' You're rooming with my girl friend. This should be interesting.'' Bobby said that with joking laugh and he looked at Jessie. Jessie looked at him and said, '' Your girl friend? Aw man, I guess I was to late.'' She jokingly snapped her fingers and laughed when she said that. Bobby smiled and said, '' Alright. Go find your room. And yeah, you're late. Bye Jessie, I'll see you later'' He said with a chuckle in his voice, he turned and walked back down stairs to wait for more new students to arrive. Jessie looked at him and laughed, she then said, '' Okay. Thanks Bobby, I'll see ya around.'' She smiled and waved as she saw him walk away. She then turned and went to go and find her room with high hopes that she wouldn't get lost while looking for it.

Evan Daniels sat in a leather chair in the hallway. He fiddled with twiddled his fingers as he waited for his aunt to finish whatever she was doing in the room nearest to his chair, which sat against the wall. She had already given him a tour and said she had to do some sort of registration thing for him... it was true that Spyke hadn't paying the most attention. His head slowly sank as he slid into a slouching position. He wasn't a morning person. Being homeschooled, he hadn't had to get up for school in a long while. He almost fell asleep, but voices echoed down the hall awoke him, causing him to sit back up.

They were students, obviously accustomed to early mornings at the institute. They seemed normal enough by their voices, gossiping about things that any human teenager would. They didn't bring up powers or talk about humans, their conversation mainly being about the crushes they had on the people they sat next to in Physics, making cheesy jokes like they had "Chemistry". Evan hoped this was a good sign that being a Mutant didn't make you some freak, but he had to face the fact that he had theoretically just joined the circus. The other Mutants turned the corner into his view, a group of pretty girls. Of course he got nervous, causing his powers to activate against his will. He felt his bones protrude out of his skin, wincing at the quite painful sensation. But, unlike any human girls, they didn't scream and run away at the sight of his spikes, but walked by as if it was completely normal for people to have spike shaped bones sticking out of their body. He still felt a bit self conscious and scolded himself in a hushed voice. "Go back in!" he scolded his quite annoying bones, which did not listen.

After what had seemed like ages of waiting on his aunt, Spyke stood up and stretched. He looked back at the chair, seeing his ability had caused puncture marks in the once perfect leather. "Whoops..." he whispered. He quickly hurried down the hall, ditching his aunt. He really didn't want to hang around her too much anyway, not wanting to just be known as the nephew of an X-Man, or getting any special treatment for it, just wanting to make his own name for himself. He didn't think about how he might appear rude for this. So, he kept walking like he had nothing to do with the destroyed chair, not really because he was embarrassed, more because the name he wanted to make for himself did not involve being the culprit of chair vandalism.

Storm had gone over the do's and don't's socially with him and he knew them inside and out. He was not to talk about ANYONE'S abilities negatively, which included his own. Because he hated his own power, he assumed he'd end up breaking this one. The other was not to speak about Jean Gray. Storm had told him everyone was still trying to get over the loss of a great friend and mentor, faculty and students alike. He knew that was the one he never intended on breaking. It bothered him to even acknowledge the lingering thought of Miss Gray. He had known her, not like any of the students, but slightly. It was her, his aunt, and Cyclops who had debriefed him about his powers. To think she was dead was almost shocking. Did people really vanish from other's lives that quickly? Here one moment and gone the next?

As pondering these things that wouldn't end up benefiting him in the future anyway, he almost ran into Mr. Scott Summers himself, which would have been bad if he did, seeing Spyke was only inches away from stabbing him with the bones sticking out of his shoulders. "Sir," he said, nodding respectfully for Cyclops didn't seem to even notice their almost collision. Scott looked up from his stance of staring at the floor. The only response Evan got was a slight nod. Evan didn't press for more of a conversation. By the looks of it, Scott had been crying. Not that Spyke could see his eyes, thank goodness, or else he would have been toast... literally. Just by looking at the distraught expression on his face, which seemed to look a tad bit bloated, no offense to Cyclops, he could tell Scott hadn't got over the loss of his girlfriend. Evan just kept walking, only a moment later feeling his spikes retract. His bones ached, so he figured it was time to get something to ease them. He found the kitchen (after asking for directions, because he really hadn't payed that much attention on the tour his aunt gave him) and yanked open the fridge, finding a jug of milk and pouring himself a glass. He gulped it down quickly. Milk didn't take away the pain, but Spyke knew it would help his achy bones in the future.

(Sorry it took me forever to post! I wrote this all out but my computer decided to be a jerk and deleted it.)

It had been a few hours since James had arrived at the institute, Professor X brought him to the mansion himself with Storm. He didn't really know what to expect from this place. The professor had spoken about learning too control his power, James wasn't so sure if he could. Ever since the incident back at his old school he had a fear of his power, even though he loved them at the same time, he just didn't want to lose control again. James had been told to go get acquainted with the mansion on his own just so that he could get comfortable. He was supposedly rooming with some guy called Bobby who had been at the mansion for a while. James was walking around the gardens of the mansion, it was huge, even bigger than his old house back in LA, it could be very easy to get lost around there. So many rooms and so many people, James thought it would be a whole lot more smaller and less people, but at least there would be plenty of girls to talk too. People just seemed to freely use their powers around here, no one cared it was almost normal just for something to set on fire or float in the air out of no where.

James needed to collect his thoughts, this was crazy, he thought he was alone in this world, of course he knew there was plenty of other mutants but there was a whole lot more 'normal' people in the world. Even though it was thought that mutants were more accepted now, James knew that his kind were still seen as freaks. Before his powers were revealed he would talk to the other kids at school and they would talk about how they would love to get their hands on a mutant just to show them whose boss. James would try and keep out of those conversations and it became clear why to his friends, after the incident. When they found out they just looked at him like he was a monster. James didn't know if he could trust humans. He found a ledge to sit on and just watched the various mutants just going about their day.

James decided to have some fun he saw some kids shadow who was just going about his day. James raised his hand and made the guys own shadow appear straight in front of himself and he walked into his own shadow. The poor guy almost had a heart attack and James quickly made his shadow turn back to normal. James let out a little chuckle and decided not to scare any more people. He didn't want to get into too much trouble on his first day. James was on his own, no one to talk to no friends, how was he meant to get acquainted like the professor said, he didn't know anyone. He just decided to chill out and watch the other mutants and check out the girls.

*Splat!*

You know, no one really appreciates their life all too well till it flips on it's head. One day, everythings same old same old, but why isn't that alright? Why do most of us want more? Even if it's pretty bad, you're at least familiar with it. Alex Sterner was learning this lesson in spades right now, stuck in his tiny seating on the public transit bus. He wasn't even aware how long he'd been there, hours blurring together with only the sun and scenery being any clear indication of the passage of time. He'd tried to catch some winks the night before, but failed miserably. The little bumps in the road only responsible in the minor degree. No, the main fault went to the group of jerks two seats back. Every so often they'd manage to throw something at him, either a physical object or verbal onslaught. "Hey, weirdo! Take off the hat, weirdo! Come on! What'cha hidin' under there? Huh? Hey! Hey, freak! You're heading there, ain't ya? Freakshow High?"

Apparently there was some mercy to be had, as the bus hissed to a halt at his stop. The obesse and disgruntled driver glared his way back to Alex and barked "You. Get off my bus." Maybe mercy wasn't quite the right word here. This was the part he'd been dreading, the Long Walk. Moving up from his seat, and receiving a parting gift of a baseball to the back of his head, he slowly made his way to the front of the bus. Everyone was staring, laughing, mocking, and murmering about him. Pushes, shoves, and elbows came from every other row. Tilting his hat down and avoiding eye contact, Alex looked up only for a moment to receive the most hated and judgemental stare he'd ever had on this trip from the bus driver. Hey, at least he was at the steps to get off, right? Just as Alex thought escape was presented before him, a foot jutted out and tripped him down the steps, his bag hooking on the railing and tearing away from his grip.

Tumbling down the steps and landing face-first on the sidewalk, Alex grumbled and began to brush himself off as he heard the hiss of the bus's air brakes and the tell-tale closing of the doors. He instantly was aware that his bag was still on the bus. "Whoa, hey! Wait wait wait! My bag! Hey! Stop! Stop The...............bus....." he finished meakly, lowing his once flailing arms in defeat as the bus cruised on into the distance. All his clothes and his laptop onboard. No, just keep going. That's great. Thanks, thank you for that. Honestly, from the bottom of my heart. You're a wonderful person, never stop what you do.... Alex just kicked the cement and sighed. Trying to not think of this as an ill omen of things to come, he began the long trek down the street to the front gates.

Some things become ingrained in you after a while, depending on how you live. Call them instincts, but they don't go away easily. For Alex, keeping his head down was simply a way of life. He never saw the mansion beyond the gates, never looked up till he was in front of it. Once he did, however, he was atonished. He was here, The X Mansion. Or the Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters as everyone else called it. Alex stood there dumbstruck for what felt like a good 5 minutes before he heard the door open to a middle aged hispanic man. Alex stepped to the side, readjusting his hat as the man gave him an odd glance. That was really the best Alex could hope for, seeing how he was dressed. Once out of view, he proceeded to walk with a nervously quickened pace to those two rather imposing double doors right as they closed. Gloved hand clasped onto the brass handle, Al took a bit to try and calm down, unsure what to expect. He'd been home schooled before he ever reached High School, so this was all alien territory to him. Finally, mustering some courage with a mental breath of relief, he slowly entered the institute.

The halls looked like they were starting to fill up, likely other students coming to see the new guys. Social activity, not Alex's strong point. Still, he was clueless as to what exactly to do. Should he seek out a teacher? Should he just wait? Did they know he would be arriving? His mother had sent a letter ahead of time, but since the mail man was as much of a bigot as everyone else in his town, it probably didn't make it. So Alex was left standing there awkwardly, trying to blend in as a wall flower before deciding to..... engage in coversation. As soon as on foot brought him closer to the gradually growing mass of students, his fear of crowds starting making his right hand clench up and shake nervously while his left began to lightly tap on his pant leg out of anxiety. Every so often he'd try to look up and ask his question, and each time he failed to make even a sound before just looking back at the surprisingly nice carpet and backing away.

How could he ever make it here, if he can't even talk?

Alexandra Calvo Clemente

“I’ve been everywhere in this stupid school… and yet I still haven’t found where to get regestrated!” Alex groaned in frustration, rubbing her temple. She wasn’t lying. She’d literally been everywhere. She eventually found the girls’ dorms hall, but she didn’t know what dorm she was in, so she just dumped her things in the hall and started walking around some more. At one point, she stumbled into the boy’s dorm wing. She got “strange” looks as she walked by, a light blush appearing on the tops of her cheeks. She looked like a desperate weirdo…

After that incident, she began to panic. Alex was one to worry about things like this. “W-what if I never find where I’m supposed to register… will I have to wander these halls forever!? Will my ghost haunt this place, doomed to float around, all sad and lonely?!” Alex sucked in a sharp breath. She then stopped midstride, and let out a nervous laugh. “Dear God I need to calm down and just ask for directions…” As soon as Alex said this, all of the people around her seemed to grow suddenly, towering over her. Her own fright consumed her and she let out a small yelp and lowered her gaze as she tried to make her way past all of these people, and not make any eye contact.

With her gaze practically attached to the ground, she wasn’t really paying attention to where she was walking. Thinking she’d finally escaped all of those people, she then quickened her pace to a light jog. Suddenly, she connected with something firm, yet soft, and bounced off and stumbled back a few steps. She looked up and saw it was in fact a person, and a boy, and a cute boy at that. All of Alex’s embarrassment rose to her cheeks, and turned them to a bright red color.

“I-I’M SORRY!” Alex stammered, and slapped her hand over her mouth, realizing just a tad too late that her powers made it sound like she was screaming louder than at the top of her lungs. This made her blush even deeper and she glared down at the ground, still covering her mouth.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty woke with a groan at the blaring of her alarm. She shut it off wanting to go back to sleep but knew she couldn't. Kitty stood and got dressed. She fixed her hair and then walked out of her room. She wanted to go bother Bobby. She passed Jessie in the hall. Kitty was not in the best mood so when she saw Jessie she didn't smile she just kept a straight face. She then stopped her "Have you seen Bobby?" she asked her.

Jessie Liles.

As Jessie was walking, she was still searching for her room when she heard someone say, '' Have you seen Bobby?'' Jessie stopped walking and turned around. She looked up to see a girl around her age and height, with brown hair, and brown eyes. Jessie smiled and said, '' Yes, yes I have. I was just talking with him. He went back down stairs.'' Jessie stopped talking for a second and looked around, she looked back at the girl and said, '' He helped me get registered. I'm new here. My name is Jessie Liles and I'm looking for my room. I'm in room LB73. I'm rooming with a girl named Kitty Pryde, do you happen to know her?'' Jessie said as she slightly tilted her head to the side as she waited for an answer.

Bobby Drake

Bobby had gotten down the stairs, he saw tons of teens and younger kids beginning to pour into the lobby. He smiled and waved to them as they would pass by and look at him. He walked over to the registration room, he stopped when he saw what looked like a spike has pierced through one of the chairs. He walked up to the chair and grabbed hold of the spike, he let go and jumped away from it when he realized it was bone. He cleared his throat and grabbed it again and ripped it out of the leather chair. He sighed as he saw the hole that was left, he then began to study and look at the spike. He put it down on the table and walked away. After two minutes of walking He made it to the courtyard. He took a deep breath of fresh air and smiled. He looked at all the students and smiled, he stopped smiling when he saw a boy's shadow move on it's own. The kid freaked out and screamed, then after he screamed the shadow went back to normal, like nothing ever happened. He looked around and saw a new guy with his hand out stretched, he sighed and walked over to him. He stopped before he got close enough, Bobby saw a girl talking to him, so he decided to back off, and talk with him later. He then headed back to the main lobby.

Jessie looked at Kitty and smiled, she said, '' Thanks.'' Jessie yelled that as she walked down the hall to find her dorm. Jessie passed multiple rooms, some were open and some were closed. Jessie would smile and wave when a girl or two would wave. She felt even more happy and excited than before, not that she knew that the others were nice too. Jessie finally found room LB73, she smiled and said, '' Well, this is it.'' She piped up and opened the door. Her jaw dropped to the floor when she saw that it was extremely spacious and roomy. She could see that more than two people could be in each room, she only shrugged she sat on the bed that was her's. She looked around and saw her things, they were on the floor next to her bed. She picked up her black, acoustic guitar and took it out of it's case. She sighed and looked around the room, she looked at her guitar and started to play a song that she had taught herself a year ago.

Bobby Drake.

Bobby was enjoying a nice conversation with a new student when he had to get to his room. Bobby looked at him and said, '' I'll see ya around bud.'' Bobby smiled as he saw the kid run off with his friends. Bobby walked back into the lobby and sat down. He was sitting for five minutes when he heard a girl's voice say , '' Hi.'' He looked up to see Kitty standing in front of him. He smiled and stood up, he walked up to her and said, '' So, have you seen your room mate yet? She's pretty nice when you get to talk with her.'' Bobby said that after he gave her a kiss on the cheek and he was smiling at her after. He grabbed her hand and proceeded to walk around with Kitty.

James was relaxing in the sun just taking everything in, what his new life would be like, what would the academy be like and how he would get on at the high school he has to go too. Whilst he was doing this, he felt a thud against his back almost knocking him off the ledge he was sitting on. He managed to keep his balance "What the...!" and before he could finish his sentence a loud high pitched sound screeched out. James again just about kept himself on the ledge as he covered his ears. He didn't even look at the person who almost made him fall, he was about to lose his temper as he said "What do you think you're..." then he stopped himself. She was cute, James could never resist a good looking girl. "I umm... Im James. You've got a good set of lungs on you." All the anger just disappeared, girls had that sort of affect on James, he would just stop what he was doing and lose all concentration. He just kept thinking Just keep cool, just keep cool... So he thought back to how he used to act when he was back at high school, but now it was better, he could use his powers.

He put on a smile holding a hand out making her shadow and his own move, he made his own shadow hold out a rose to hers and making her shadow accept it. It was cheesy but cool because it meant he could show off his own powers. He then quickly stopped using his powers because he wouldn't have been able to control it for too long without him making himself look like an idiot. He still didn't have full control of his powers and using them for too long meant that he might accidentally make the shadow shoot out of the ground randomly. This girl really was pretty, what great luck he had, first day and he meets a good looking girl.

Jessie Liles.

Jessie was sitting on her bed, playing her guitar. She learned to play it at a very young age, her whole family was into music. Jessie was what you slightly could say she was gifted in music. Usually whatever free-time Jessie had she would either, go swimming, play her guitar or go for a joy ride on her skate-board. She wasn't that good of a skate boarder, but she knew how to ride it and do some half decent tricks, so she liked to get out and skate board every once and a while. Jessie stopped playing and she looked around her room, she put it down and stood up. She sighed and picked her guitar back up, she strapped it on her back, and walked out of her room. Now she only hoped that she wouldn't get lost while looking for Professor X's office.

Bobby Drake.

Bobby looked at Kitty and smiled when she blushed. She decided he would take a walk with his girl friend for he morning. He started to walk with her and looked at all the teens and younger kids that were coming here for their first year. Bobby turned and looked at Kitty, he smiled at her and said, '' Hey, so what would you like to do for our little time that we have together?'' He said that as he was looking at her with his loving look in his eyes.

Jessie walked out of her room and into the hall. She smiled as a girl student looked at her and smiled, Jessie nodded and passed her as she was walking down the hall. Jessie kept walking until someone bumped into her and knocked her off her feet. When Jessie was knocked down, she shifted into an animal form, it was her wolf form. Jessie shook her head and looked up, she sighed and didn't say a thing. The girl that knocked her down, looked at her and said, '' I'm so sorry.'' Jessie looked at her and made a wolf like smile, she stood up on her four legs and said, '' It's alright. This happens a lot actually, so you're okay.'' She sighed and tried to shift back, but she couldn't. She looked at the girl and said, '' This isn't good. I can't shift back.'' The girl looked at her with a concerned look on her face. She stood next to her and tried to think of something.

Bobby Drake

Bobby was walking with Kitty for about five minutes when he stopped and stood still. He turned to Kitty and looked at her looked at her and smiled. He then said, '' How about we go and check on your new room mate? I'm sure she's looking for Professor X and she might be lost.''

Alexandra Calvo Clemente

"What do you think you're..." Alex winced, bracing herself, ready to be yelled and screamed at for being a weirdo and being so clumsy.

"I umm... I’m James. You've got a good set of lungs on you." Alex raised her perplexed, embarrassed gaze from where it rested on the ground and looked upon the boy who had gone from angry to sweet in half a second. She then looked at his hand, which wasn’t exactly held out to give her a hand shake, but doing something else.

Alex caught sight of movement out of the corner of her eye. Her head turned to see her shadow accepting a rose from James’s shadow. This made her cheeks return to the color of an actual rose.

“That’s so cool…” She muttered, and turned back to him, still rather embarrassed. “My name is Alexandra. I’m very new and very far from home, so I’m very nervous… Sorry again…” She said, not realizing she said very three times. “Oh, and that sound wasn’t created by my lungs… if that makes sense. I can alter sound waves to make them VERY loud or just make them disappear completely… umm, watch.” Alex explained, and then turned to look for some people talking to each other to demonstrate her powers. She found a group of five girls who were gossiping in their annoyingly high pitched voices. Perfect…

Alex’s eyes narrowed as she concentrated on those girls. One girl was speaking to her friends, when her voice suddenly just shut off. Her mouth kept moving for a moment, not realizing that no sound was coming out. She stopped and made what would have sounded like a yelping sound, but nothing could be heard. Her friends were about to ask what was wrong, when they realized that they couldn’t talk either. A grin spread across Alex’s face as they all began to panic and ran off to seek help or something.

Alex stopped and their shrieking could now be heard. Alex started laughing, practically doubling over while holding her middle. She looked up at James. “That always makes me smile. It was kind of mean though…” She chuckled at the end, not really caring.

James watched her use her power with amazement "Well at least I know not too talk about you behind your back, you could hear anything". It was weird, they both seemed so comfortable using their powers openly. Maybe this place was good for him. He could interact freely without worrying about them knowing his powers. Those girls that Alexandra played a joke on were still quite freaked out, that was the sort of joke he liked, this girl seemed to have the same sense of humour as him. Then he heard her speak again, she had an accent. James thought, Jackpot. "So where actually are you from, Im from LA" he said to her.

As they were speaking he wondered if there was supposed to be somewhere they were meant to be. James had already seen his and he was rooming with the Bobby kid. Professor X had told him that he is able to control Ice, that could come in handy, and endless stream of ice cubes for drinks is always good, he joked in his own head. Maybe he should go see him. "Hey have you met anyone else yet? Apart from the professor and Storm I have met anyone, I was just told to come out here, maybe the professor has something planned for the new students."

Sara watched the dance for a little bit. Meet and greet, tearful goodbyes, the whole shtick. For some reason, it all put an absurd grin on her face. The live-in students seemed to be handling it well enough, minus a few look-what-I-can-do pranks, so Laughlin really didn't see a reason to stick her nose in. She was a guest, and that afforded her the opportunity to do absolutely nothing but watch like a creeper. Which is a lot of fun, surprisingly.

After draining her coffee, she pushed off from the wall and exited the grand hallway to make for the kitchen and a refill. Inside? Who else but Spyke.

"Oh, thank God, a glass." She chuckled and nodded at him, filling her own mug with coffee and retrieving the rest of the milk for a splash.

"You have no idea how many times I come in here and some clown is chugging straight from the communal carton."

The older woman faces the doorway back into the hall, but the growing crowd apparently makes her reconsider, and she turns to lean against a counter instead. She wasn't X-man, and she wasn't staff, but seemed to be here under the same 'welcomed guest' condition that Logan breezed around under, and had visited Spyke's aunt's office briefly - presumably to give her condolences.

"I know your face." She says after a moment of studying him, "You're Storm's nephew, right? She's got a picture of you on her desk. Name's Sara."

Taking a drink from her coffee, she still watches him over the rim of the mug. Her posture was easy, her tone was friendly, and her smile was genuine; but something around those gray eyes pinned him and picked him apart.

"You starting classes here at the Institute?"

Jessie Liles and Bobby Drake

Jessie looked at the girl with a worried look on her face. Jessie then said, '' I should go find someone who can help. Bye'' The girl looked at her and said, '' I really am sorry. Bye. Jessie looked at her and said, '' It's okay. I'm going to get some help.'' Jessie was still in her wolf form, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't shift back. As she was walking down the halls, some other students would look at her and shrug, some would whisper things, and some would just plain walk away. Jessie lowered her head and tried not to make any eye contact with others. She kept walking until she walked down the stairs, she looked up and saw Bobby talking to Kitty, Jessie ran up to them and said, '' Bobby! I need help!''

Bobby was just chatting with Kitty, when he saw a medium sized, black and white wolf run up to him and say, '' Bobby! I need help!'' Bobby looked at the wolf with a confused look on his face at first. But when he heard it talk he realized that it was Jessie. He sighed with some relief and said, '' Jess, I didn't know you were a shape shifter.'' Jessie looked at him and said, '' I need your help. I can't shift back into my human form. Usually I can do it easily. But I'm not able to right now. Please help me!'' Jessie said that with a sad and scared tone. Bobby looked at her and then Kitty, then he looked back at Jessie again, he then said, '' That's not good. We should get you to Professor X, right now.'' Bobby looked at Jessie and started to walk to Professor X's office. Jessie looked at him and trotted over to him, she walked by his side and started to worry.

It didn't take Spyke long to down at least half the carton, constantly refilling his glass. The ache in his bones was killing him and obviously didn't intend on stopping anytime soon. Pumping himself full of slightly spoiled milk so much it was beginning to hurt his stomach wasn't the wisest way to try and get pain-killing results, especially if he knew it would be inconclusive. He did no anyway until he had to set the glass down and try to overcome the wave of nausea that was drowning him- although drowning was the last word he wished to hear at the moment. Could someone drown from over drinking milk? He supposed he would find out.

Suddenly, a big clump of the rotten milk he had just inhaled came back up into his mouth. Any other time, he would have spit it back out into the cup, but a woman strolled into the room, eyeing him with a grin on her face. She spoke to him, something Spyke really had been hoping wouldn't happen since he had a ball of disgusting cow extract that he didn't know what to do with blocking him from really carrying on a conversation. Plus, who knows, maybe she would think he was chewing some white colored tobacco.

"Oh, thank God, a glass. You have no idea how many times I come in here and some clown is chugging straight from the communal carton." The woman spoke as she was preoccupied with filling up her coffee cup. While she wasn't paying attention to him, he silently hurled the glob of milk he had almost been choking on into the cup and quickly shot up to find her head turning back to face him. She began speaking. It took him a little while, but Spyke finally realized he was zoned out and hadn't been paying attention. He caught her name, Sara, and something about his aunt. He figured she must have known Storm, feeling a little more comfortable with the awkward conversation. Well, it may not have been awkward for her, but it was for him.

"Mmm-hmm..." he said, hoping that was the right answer. The woman's face seemed to express that she hadn't noticed, but he got a glimpse of her eyes as they locked with him and he was actually a bit nervous. He bit his lip, praying that his bones wouldn't misbehave. He almost preferred the aching to them having a mind of their own.

She finally unglued herself from her coffee mug. "You starting classes here at the Institute?"

He nodded. "Yeah. Kind of a big transition from being homeschooled, but my aunt, Cyclops, and J- er, Jeremy... they told me I'd be much better of here." In truth, Spyke didn't even know if there was even a Jeremy at this school, but his aunt had strictly forbid him from saying the J word, so he decided having an imaginary friend was better than ticking off some fellow Mutants. Hoping Sara had overlooked his slip up, which he almost instantly knew she most likely hadn't, he smiled and nervously grabbed his glass and took a swig out of habit, the horrible rotten milk taste returning to his mouth.

"Well at least I know not to talk about you behind your back, you could hear anything.”

Alex smiled. “No that would not be a wise decision.” She chuckled.

"So where actually are you from, I’m from LA." James asked.

Alex’s smile faded, not happy she was reminded of home. “I come from Valencia, Spain. So, like I said, very very far away…” Alex sighed, staring at the ground as memories flooded her train of thoughts. “But that doesn’t really matter. I’m here now, and this will be my home for the next few months.” Alex’s friendly smile reappeared on her face, her mood perking right back up. Alex wasn’t one to be held down by things like this.

"Hey have you met anyone else yet? Apart from the professor and Storm I have met anyone, I was just told to come out here, maybe the professor has something planned for the new students."

Alex shook her head. “To be honest, I don’t think I’ve met anyone yet. Unless you’re secretly X-men.” Alex chuckled lightly at the thought, than realized it was kind of mean, and she blushed again, embarrassed. “I’m sorry, I hadn’t meant that to be rude.” he bowed her head apologetically. “I actually was looking for the place where you sign in or whatever when I bumped into you. Heh, literally.”
