Alfonse Valentini

Image

Toby Williams mysterious colleague and former employer.

Reclusive and eccentric, Alfonse gained notoriety for a successful fantasy series about traveling to and adventuring in an amazing fantastical world that the novels suggested existed opposite to our own. While very popular among his readers the novels were published in limited quantities throughout Europe and the British Ilse making entire sets exceedingly rare. There were half a dozen novels in all including three other completed manuscripts that it is rumored Valentini never released for publication.

Judith Wilkney

Image

One of Toby William's best friends. Supposedly a distant Cousin of Valentini's although some of his critics have quietly implied she is actually much closer to the man than meets the eye.

Judith, like all of Toby and Alfonse friends, is an eccentric young woman often called a modern day George Sands. A self proclaimed artist, writer, and vagabond Judith spends most of her time writing deplorably bad poetry and morally deviant plays while trotting about the English countryside and spending her weekends in town. Most of the time she barely has any money but she claims to be quite satisfied with her lot in life. Considered a bit of feminist despite blatantly opposed to the idea as a movement, Judith is most notable for wearing suits and male orientated clothing which she insists are both cheaper and less restrictive. Toby and Judith briefly dated. Although neither were able to make a long distance romance work.

Ana and Margeret

Image

Ana is the sister of Hadlyn and one of Elfonse former lovers from long ago. She is a sculptor by profession and lives in wales along with her actress wife Mag. While their official residence is Wales the couple own property in both Ireland and Spain which they've repeatedly invited Toby to stay at and use. Mag is a B-list actress and model currently trying to break into the big time. Although most of her claim to fame has been in fashion. Both woman are very fond of Toby and have emotionally adopted him as their surrogate son.

Hadlyn De Witt

Image

Hadlyn is Ana's slightly younger brother currently residing at the De Witt family Estate in Scotland. Dabbling in both music and art Hadlyn is most commonly known in the philosophical and metaphysical communities. A self proclaimed psychic, Haydlyn has made most of his money as a publicized medium and has published a handful of respected books about his experiences. Hadlyn and Alfonse were friends early on but had a falling out over Alfonse relationship with Hadlyn's sister Ana.

Some insiders suggested that the group of friends were engaging in some kind of complex love triangle but these rumors were never fully substantiated. Officially their falling out was said to be related to a literary collaboration Alfonse had been working on with Hadlyn. In any case the men did re-unite some years later and have remained distant friends.

Penny Brooks
Image
Recently deceased grand-mother of Eva. Penny took in Eva when Eva's parents died in the car accident that occured years ago. She helped a lot in the community and often volunteered at the hospital. Penny died earlier than she was supposed to due to a heart attack.

Mia Allens
Image
One of Eva's best friends from University. The two women are as close as sisters, and they stay in contact. Mia has a habit to call Eva whenever something exciting/sad/bad happens in her own life. Mia likes to talk about herself...a lot. But she has a bubbly personality, and is willing to lend a shoulder to cry on for her friends.

Rodney Miller
Image
Another of Eva's friends from Uni. These two used to be very close, they went out together a few times but there was never an "offical " relationship. Rondey and Eva are still in contact, but their friendshhip is very weak right now. But, becuase of an old silly promise they made with eachother, they would never let the friendship completely disappear and they are eachothers first choice to talk to for any kind of advice.

UNDERGROUND NPCs:

The White Huntress

Image

Image

Meriel is known by most under the title of The White Huntress. Born Half Human and Half Elf, her unique heritage has drawn some limited scrutiny among other elf kind however Meriel has little contact with other members of that side of her culture. Although loosely connected to the KoTL and considered a 2nd lieutenant within their ranks, Meriel is not a resident of the Labyrinth or the Goblin city and as such her relationship with the KoTL is one of subjective participation.

Meriel is the recognized guardian of the the Enchanted Forest which presses up against the western boarder of the Labyrinth near the fire marsh (Domain of the Fire Gang or Wild Bunch) and the Bog of Eternal Stench.

Meriel's only concern is the protection of the Enchanted Forest and the rights of the people and creatures who live there. She cares nothing for the castle or the Labyrinth beyond its ability to negatively affect the inner workings of her domain and, as a result, has a tolerable relationship with Jareth and his subjects. Some speculation has suggested that perhaps Meriel was fathered by the Goblin King and it has been suggested that is the reason the White Huntress governs the Enchanted forest.

Whatever the case it should be noted that the Enchanted Forest is largely considered to be the home of vagabonds, criminals, and other magically inclined folk who have somehow managed to make life in the harsh forest and marsh lands workable. All in all, it is a highly dangerous place to travel in. Particularly if you are without the advantages of magic or other defenses. There are also quite a few wayward magicians, archaic wizard types, and even a few domestic witches. These magically inclined humans (races are often mixed in this sense) mostly don't like to meddle in the greater workings of the near by Kingdom. However some have been known to help or hinder travelers who come to them for information and aid.

Throughout the Underground there are many other patches of forest and other wild area's like the wilds near the Labyrinth. All of them seem to be connected and sometimes people who get lost within the wilds might find themselves unintentionally transported to some other land entirely. Magical folk such as Meriel seem to understand how this works better than others do and can use it to travel great distances in very short periods of time.

Meriel also keeps close tabs on the Wild Bunch who regularly cause disruptions within the forest and ill will between the outer wilds and the Goblin Kingdom.

The Lord and Lady of Einde Street

ImageImage

No one knows exactly where they came from in the present sense although its said that Lord and Lady Claiborne's official family land holdings exist somewhere in the north of Scotland and are indeed quite legitimate if far from well known. What is known is that the couple is very reclusive. What isn't known is that they're not so much reclusive as hardly ever at home. In one way or another the Claiborne's are an example of a family who quite literally lives in two worlds. While they seem to have a more than opulent little castle in the British countryside, that castle seems to move quite regularly to different and usually scenic points in the Underground.

While they certainly look human enough their life blood is mingled and rooted decidedly in the world of Fairy.

Iliad

Iliad is the unfortunate daughter of Lord and Lady Claiborne. Like her parents she is irrevocably connected the world of Fairy although she's not particularly happy about the fact. Especially due to a rather unfortunate characteristic inherited by a certain relative. As long as Iliad can keep her temper in check she can pass quite easily as a normal person. Sadly temperance is not the woman's strong point.
