Zodia, I was thinking that when they picked the weapons up, they could get a positive feeling, and maybe feel a warmth in their hand, and maybe also see a vision or a memory from the past owner of the object. The object could also sparkle or glow in a magical way. Those are just suggestions, the details are up to you guys.

P.s. Lovely spade, I'm sorry if Alice's goblet doesn't seem as cool as the other two weapons! I wanted them all to be different, and the cup is an ancient magical symbol, like a cauldron to brew potions in. The legend of the holy grail is probably based on an older magical cup.
