WolvesWolves, the dominant, and most prevalent Race in all of Nigerius. Wolves live in large societies known as Packs. Each Pack is based on an Element gifted to them by their patron deity since time immemorial. The Wolves have the ability to manipulate these Elements to their own ends, and because of it have conquered nearly every corner of Nigerius. There are Seventeen Packs in total with four Cousin Packs. Because of the Wolf's expansionist agenda they have come into conflict with nearly every other inhabitant of Nigerius.
This has caused generations worth of turmoil and strife, but alas, this is the cost of building civilizations. The Wolves are the most technologically advanced, and have built large cities within their territories as testaments to their ingenuity and power. In recent times however, all of the Packs have engaged in all-out warfare. Dubbed the Great War by many, this conflict has raged for many years and have weakened, not only the Wolves, but the very land itself.
A Wolf is valiant, noble, and adventurous as they seek new and greater heights to achieve and grow. A Wolf could also be violent, malevolent, controlling, and cruel. The Wolf can play a variety of roles having the most diversification. To learn more about the different Packs and Elements check out this link!

BearsAmong the oldest living races that inhabit the wilderness of Nigerius; The Bears are reputed by their massive size and equally massive strength. Long ago, before the birth of the Wolf, the Bear had ruled Nigerius as it's dominant species. Once the time of the Wolf had come, many of the Bears were uprooted and forced to relocate away from the Great Wolf Packs. This has placed a strain on the relationship between the Wolf and the Bear. Unlike the Wolf, the Bears had no interest in war and conquest. Instead they fiercely defend their remaining territories from any further encroachment.
While the Bear cannot command the Elements like a Wolf, the Bear does have strength and resiliency greater than even the most hardy of Wolves. Able to withstand massive amounts of damage before ever succumbing to injury. The Bear is also deceptively fast, being adept climbers, swimmers, and runners despite their lumbering gait. A Bear's fangs and claws are incredibly sharp and with their great strength are able to rip apart most weapons and armor created by the Wolves.
The Bear's ferocity in battle is indeed legendary, but as a whole the Bear is rather reserved. They live in humble settings compared to the rather grandiose dwellings of the Wolves. Forming tightly-knit communities, the Bears have a strong sense of connection with each other and with the natural world, something the Wolves have been growing insensitive towards over the years. A Bear is strong-willed, even-tempered, modest but most of all respectful, but when angered, there is very little that can stop their rampage.

FoxesFoxes were what you would call an early attempt at what Nigerius will come to know as the Wolf. Smaller than their close relative, the Fox makes up for in cunning for what the Wolf has in strength. Sly and full of guile, a Fox is a quick thinker and even quicker sprinter. While Foxes do not live in Packs like the Wolves they do live in families, and often within Wolf territory. The Wolf and the Fox have a peculiar relationship. While it's not always hostile, it's not always friendly either.
Early Wolves have been known to hunt Foxes as prey when deer or other suitable game wasn't present. As time went on, however, this practice was abolished. For the most part, Wolves largely ignore the presence of Foxes, mainly due to the fact they do not compete over the same food sources like Bears or Cougars do. The Fox prefers this relationship living in the shadow of the larger predators allowing them to live a peaceful existence.
While Foxes and Wolves are very similar, their ability to control the elements has been a source of much contention. Some legends state that Foxes in the past were given divine attunement, allowing them minor influence over the Elements. Whether these Foxes still exist or not isn't known. The Fox's main defense is their wit. They are clever tricksters having a certain way with words, and are known to be very manipulative. A Fox is clever, opportunistic, resourceful and skilled in the art of deception, so be wary, you may think you've won when really you were just bamboozled.

Cougars (Mountain Lions)Cougars and Cats in general have existed long before the Wolves. The Cats were perhaps the most scorned after the rise of the Wolf. As the Wolves grew in numbers their territories became more expansive. Soon the Cougars began to find it harder and harder to hunt for the food they need. This made the Wildcats angry as they retaliated with ambushes whenever Wolves strayed too far from their homes. This has caused the Wolves to constantly retaliate against Cougar attacks whenever and wherever they occurred. Suffice to say the two races do not get along.
As time passed the violence has subsided, but tensions still remain as the Cats do not easily forgive or forget. Cougars prefer a solitary existence and only meet with each other during mating seasons. After mating has occurred they do live together in family units to ensure their cubs grow into their own. Although in times of crisis, Cougars have organized and fought together to protect their way of life. Cougars are masterful hunters, and have perfected the art of stealth above all others. Born with incredible patience the Cougars can stalk their prey for hours waiting until the opportune moment to strike.
The Cougar is fast, quiet, and methodical as the Cat takes it's time, and plans everything it does. The Cougar cannot control the Elements either, but their speed, and cunning make them a match for even the most seasoned Wolf. Cougars possess hooked, retractable claws that are far sharper than any Wolf's. They are able to pierce flesh with the greatest of ease. A Cougar is secretive, smart, and vigilant perfect for being hunters, infiltrators, and assassins.
