Tomas swore, cursed, and said every foul word he knew as he waited in agony for a report to come. The 12th Brigade had discovered their their vehicles had been damaged from a previous mission and were working like mad dogs to get it fixed, the communication towers in the capital were fuzzy and they had lost contact with the other divisions, thus Tomas was powerless at the moment.
He had ordered the Commissars to make examples out of the Krieg soldiers and to have the priests inspire the men to work themselves half to death, or even kill themselves if it meant they would be on their way to join the 56th and the 110th on their way to Gogyssa. It was humiliating, the fact he had come and was suppose to help this planet, and now technology was working against him. He felt embarrassed, he felt he had dishonored himself and his regiment, and now needed to make up for it, and even if it meant he would have to blow half of the damned planet back to the Feral Times, he would do so. Death Before Dishonor.
"Commander, half of the broken vehicles are operational, what are your orders?" a tech priest called over the raio, and Tomas almost chocked the migrophone as he was given the report.
"Load them up with men and get moving! The rest will follow later, do you copy?!" Tomas screamed into the migrophone and the tech priest then gave over the orders to the Krieg captain who then had the men moved out.
most of the chimeras had been fixed, but the basilisks and medusa canons had been damaged by Tau laser fire during a previous war, it must had been the Kroots, for they were the only ones who were able to have gotten that close to the machines, either that, or there was a traitor amongst the Krieg soldiers, and then the commander would surely have every single soldier questioned harshly.
The 12th Krieg Brigade moved as fast as it could towards the city of Gogyssa. Only about seven thousands of the original fifteen thousands soldiers were on their way, and they had neither artillery or any form of ammunition with them as they had hurried to get the vehicles fixed before anything else.
They had two Leman Russ Tanks with them, but their machine guns were still something which was to be fixed, making its canon the only form of artillery that was usable. The captain swore, they could have been better prepared for this, but there was nothing he could do, what was done was done, and now they had to hurry to work as reinforcement for the 110th and 56th division.
Gorga sat in a truck, driving towards the city of Gogyssa, approaching the city from the North Eastern borders.
Gorga had ordered a large mob of orks to remain in the city he had conquered and the ork fighta' air planes had been orders to fly towards Gogyssa, the last thing Gorga had heard was that they had seen things on their radar and then war cries filled the radio, they had probably seen a large flock of birds and attacked them, wouldn't have been the first time that they had done something similar.
Gorga could see the city now and ordered the tanks to be brought in line and then continued forward, he wasn't going to attack with artillery this time, no, he was going to attack with all his might like a real ork against the imperial forces, that way when he won he would be rewarded with piles of weapons, more fame and even more orks at his disposal. It would be great, but firth there were some humies to have their 'eads cut of.
"Waaaagh!" Gorga called out of the broken window and the orks answered the war cry.
The ork fighta's had seen the imperial air forces and had immediately bellowed war cries over the radios, letting the humans know of their presence, plus their red painted air planes didn't help the least with disguising them in the skies, in fact it stood out more.
The orks, stupid as they was, did the expected and attacked head first towards the imperial air forces, not even thinking about how much more experienced and better equipped they were, and although the orks had more airplanes and had glued a hell lot of more guns to their air planes, their so-called pilots couldn't even keep the planes in a straight line, and the ork gunners were already shooting after birds and the imperial air planes, although they were far out of range.
It was obvious that the Imperial forces would win such a battle, but the orks were know for being filled with surprises.
