Possibly Pirates 2: The Ancient Brotherhood.
Early 1700's, West Indies.
This RP takes place in the Possibly Pirates Universe, however it is allows you the freedom to be the Captain of your own ship, independent of the PP2: Curse of the Raksasha storyline. You do not need to be a player in PP2: CoR to play. The rules:
This an expansion to another game, titled Possibly Pirates: The Curse of the Raksasha. It is not necessary for you to have played PP1 or currently in PP2 you to play in Ancient Brotherhood. There will be allusions to previous events in PP1 and current people and events in PP2, but don't worry...everything that you need to know will be explained. Now, here are the rules that you MUST follow to play:
1.No ninjas.
NONE. Don't bother explaining your martial arts skills to me, or how they fit into the story, or how it will enhance the story or whatever. The answer is a simple, clean cut NO. This is a pirate game, so you will either be playing a pirate or a sailor of some sort. No ninjas.
2.Obey the basic rules of RPing. No Godmodding (controlling another player's character without permission from them), respect your fellow players, have fun and whatnot.
3.You MUST read the posts before yours. Don't skim or you could miss something important.
4.Request permission to join either by PMing me or by posting here, in the OOC thread. Don't do it on the IC thread.
5.Absolutely no OOC in the IC thread. If you slip up, you will be requested to alter your post. Slip up a lot, and I might begin to think that you just didn't read the rules. So you'll probably be kicked
6.If you go 7 days without posting (without first giving a reasonable excuse, such as vacation, super busy schedule at school, death), you will be kicked from the game.
7.Keep a reasonable amount of realism in your posts. There is a fantasy element here, but it still takes place in the early 1700's. So no time traveling machine gun wielding Amazons running around in bikinis and whatnot.
8.Don't try to force the plot forward. What makes a game work well is if we all work together to push forward the storyline...but don't go from sitting in a tavern to you being brutalized by an Australian king's pet naga that has decided to sweep you away to be his bride. Or anything odd like that.
As far as characters go, I would appreciate it if everyone involved put up a character description. For those of us that were involved in the first one, just make sure it's updated to where your character is now, two years after the ending. For those of you who are new, just a basic character sheet will work nicely. Baring in mind the rules, of course Something along these lines would be great, but it doesn't have to be exactly like this:
Name:
Age:
Appearance (image can be used):
Brief HistoryMany people like the idea of having command of their own ship, this is being offered as a place for ship to ship combat as well as character development and interaction, all set in the Possibly Pirates mythology.
You may join as Captains of your own ships, or as members of a ships crew.
There are three major ports from which the Ancient Brotherhood sails from, Port Royal for English buccaneers, Tortuga for French buccaneers and Barbados for Dutch buccaneers.
You do not have to be from these respective countries, however if you sail for another flag you will have a Letter of Marque that allows you to sail under the protection of that flag as a privateer.
You can also be a member of the Ancient Brotherhood, a buccaneer, who owes allegiance to no country but the brotherhood of pirates.
There are neutral ports such as Rio de Janeiro which are Portuguese or Spanish owned.
I have provided a link so you can see the options of actual ships available to you. And
NO YOU CANNOT HAVE A SHIP OF THE LINE UNLESS YOU BELONG TO A COUNTRIES NAVY.Please utilize the link below as it gives a slew of great information that we used in establishing the PP universe.
