While they spread misandrist hate and seek unfair advantages, they then come with "but I am a feminist and feminism means equal rights". It doesn't matter what the definition is when you can still do it wrong.

So to answer my own question, by definition feminism is about equality but the feminist movement in a lot of cases is not really like that.

The problem with saying that is, literally anyone could do that to any type of movement and present it for what it is not. There's no avoiding that whenever a movement for rights occur, and that's why those people need to be weeded out instead of being the face of said movement. One big problem feminism faces today is that, many aren't trying to remove the radicals from our group, or speak up against them, and that's something that needs to be fixed.

That's not how the wage gap works. About 5/6ths of the difference are due to women not being considered "suitable" for "men's" (high-paying) jobs. A single position will pay (pretty much) the same for men and women, it's just that men are more likely to get high paying positions. In her situation, she will not encounter the wage gap, and your average mtf wouldn't encounter it either unless moving between jobs.

A big issue with the majority of feminists is that, as laypeople, they do not understand the ways in which benevolent sexism is related to hostile sexism, which can lead to men who are genuinely treating women and men the same being seen as "misogynist", defeating the feminist cause by appearing to want female privilege, and also by reinforcing BS behavior that in turn reinforces HS behavior.

Everybody! Unless you have been in a roleplay with me in the past and were loyal to it, do not PM or text me about joining your RP.

I do NOT do Pokemon, Yugioh, WoW or any such RPs.

Please be aware of this.

Of course it's about equality. Not that a worldwide matriarchy would be uninteresting, the patriarchy certainly isnt doing anyone any favors.

Feminism has historical always stood up for the disabled, poc, and underprivileged - nowadays you have to clarify that it's intersectional feminism you mean when you call yourself a feminist, intersectional feminism realizes that all issues are connected and intertwined, racism, homophobia, ableism, and sexism.

sexism is so deeply rooted into our society and way of thinking that any reach for equality or true equality (such as an equal amount of boys and girls participating in a discussion) is seen as too much privilege for females - you'd have to have your head under a rock to think that women have advantages these days, you'd also have to be thoroughly confused to think that it's women's fault that men have imposed hypermasculinity upon themselves to the point where they are looked down on for reporting their own assaults. You want better dealings with sexual assault then it's a good idea to support feminists, because they're the ones who open rape crisis centers and make sure that there are exclusive spaces available for male survivors, they are the one's that bring up the issue and help those victims. Men's issues are feminist issues. Men's issues are caused by the patriarchy and that's what feminists stand against.
