The saying that you become like the person you're the closes to applies a great deal to Elliot. Having the Goddess of the Nile inside his soul, his personality is as fluid as the river, never having a fixed shape. It can be as gentle as a bubbling brook, or as dangerous as the choppy rivers that deliberately washes boats and rafts into the rocks. The moods of other people affect him greatly, and he is sensitive and receptive to emotions just as the wind forms ripples on the water. As a result, Elliot can rarely be said to have a fixed personality, always seeming to imitate the people close to him. If others feel agitated, his feelings would become to change too, and he is often brought to tears when someone else cries. He mimics the personalities of others and show snippets of drastically different actions, from kind and compassionate to brutal and cold. Like a mirror that reflects, the reactions of others affect him to start acting like them as well.

As a result, it is probably fortunate that he has a partner that is as gentle as the air. As such, Elliot takes an example from Etheline and acts calmly and serenely. He still doesn't know whether it was the influence of her powers or not, but it doesn't take much for him to follow her soothing personality. However, there is no guarantee that he stays like that. When he isn't around his partner, his calm demeanour falls apart, taking the volatile shape of the personality closest to him. As a result, he isn't good when caught in an argument, as he often inexplicably gets angry, influenced by the moods of others even if they try to hide it, signs of hostility or what not. Because of that, Elliot has a tendency to let Etheline do the talking and decisions, since he is often unsure whether his own are influenced by his feelings at that point of time only. It is often that he starts to regret his actions once his personality shifts once again.

Anuket was the personification and goddess of the Nile river in the Egyptian mythology in Elephantine, at the start of the Nile's journey through Egypt, and in nearby regions of Nubia. She was worshipped for the life bringing waters of the Nile, so Elliot has her power of controlling and manipulating the flow of water. He is only what one would consider a novice at it, and is only able to manipulate liquids, not including its other states. That said, along with that comes a sub ability of talking to fish(Because fishes are a symbol for Anuket so he is like weak Percy Jackson really.)
