Halfblood Hill: Olympian War

In a world where myth was myth and fact is fact, who would expect that myth was very much a fact? Well, with the Greek Gods and Goddesses floating above the Empire State Building, in New York City, what could be more bazaar? Let's take a guess, the children they father/mother? The monsters that run after the kids? Or the Titian king trying to rise again? Well... It is all of the above. All of this happens when Percy Jackson is tossed into the world of mythological beings and... well, demi-gods.
Percy travels all over the states to find Zeus' stolen lightning, or be killed, discover the secrets of the Bramuda Triangle, and save some other demi-gods! Come join the fun and adventure with Percy and the gang with all the other Gods looking over your back
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sage sighed as he turned the page of his book. Here he was, in the middle of New York city, at the biggest cafe' in town, being stared at by half the city's population. Here he was, the son of the lord of the Underworld, sitting at a classy place in a black skull-studded duster. His aura was causing men and monsters alike to gather around him to just stare at him like idiots. He shifted his legs, making everyone flinch as Soulrender's sheathe clanked. The mist just didn't seem to cover up the image of his Stygian sword, but for some reason made all his other weapons look like simple gothic chains to the humans. This little scene was kind of sad.. Here all these people were, drawn by his aura unknowlingly just because he forgot to suppress it.. And now the sadder part...
Sage sighed as he withdrew the power of his aura. The humans looked around as if they had just been released from a trance. They started to walk around, mumbling to themselves before walking off to do what they had been doing before being drawn by the commanding power. The monsters... had a different reaction. They pulled off their human guises and jumped at Sage, baring their fangs and talons. A few almost made it to him.. Before they were suddenly burned to dust by black fire. Sage shook off some of the dust before looking at Raziel, who had been sitting next to him. "Nice town, huh?"

((sorry if this is really long, but I really got into it))

He ran. Nick Cormer, a nice enough boy if you got to know him, but at first glance nothing more than a normal boy. But according to the one that was chasing him, something was different.

Nick got up at his normal time of 6:30, took a shower, got dressed and ate breakfast. He said goodbye to his parents and hopped on his bus to his old school of St. Agensworth, the day progressed normally, math, science, geography, english... and then band... thats were things took an odd, if not brutal, turn for the worse. Nick took his normal position at the back of the class, next to his instrument, the drums, the one person who usually sat next to him was at the front of the class today, and happened to be replaced by the linebacker of the school football team, Reece. Reece wasn't necesarily mean to Nick so much as he was obnoxios... sitting next to him in most classes so he could cheat off of his tests, belching loudly and farting seemingly on purpose right next too Nick.
why he chose to sit next to him in band as well was mystery that didn't need solving. Class was fairly normal except for Reece who seemed to glance over at him with hungry eyes, which was strange to Nick, because they were only watching a video about woodwind instruments and had no video guide. Class ended and everyone including the teacher rushed out the door to head for lunch, Nick stayed behind for a bit to pack up his things and avoid the clogged arteries of the halls. He headed for the door and almost made it out, when Reece stepped in his way from out of the hall, Nick looked up at him and said "heeeey Reece... did you need something?"
Reece stared down at him, as if peering down into his very soul before replying in a strange voice that didn't seem like his "i'm hungry" Nick looked confused for a moment and said
"it's lunch time, lets go" Reece said nothing, but simply walked forward and pushed Nick to the ground. Reece looked down at him with extremely hateful eyes, something looked different, so Nick concentrated on looking at him harder, then he noticed wht was different he was growing... he grew at least nine feet tall, his body morphed to become much more muscular and threatining looking. So Nick stood up very slowly, one thought in his mind ~giant, just like in mythology class~ so Nick did what came natural, he ran.

The halls seemed to empty, even teachers usually finished up lunch quick and surveyed the halls, but not today, it was empty, lonely, fear filled. Nick dashed through the halls as fast as his legs would let him... but that apparently wasn't fast enough, as Reece almost immediatly caught up with him, and tackled him to the ground "food shouldn't run" the giant said as he grabbed Nick's arm and yanked him to his feet. Nick was completly afraid, but he didn't freeze up, instead, things seem to slow down, but he was moving at his normal speed, Nick took his free arm and attempted to pry Reece's fingers off of his arm, at first to no avail, but after a few minutes of struggling with him for control, Reece's arm fell limp to his side. Reece looked down at it like he was missing an arm and quickly turned back to Nick, with more fury in his eyes than he had ever seen.

Reece screamed in anger and fury and reached out with his other arm to attempt to strangle him, Nick ducked and continued to run. The state of mind he was in before was still there, everything moved slower, ~it must have been the adrenaline~ Nick thought to himself as he kept running, Reece not far behind. ~Keep running Nick, just a little more, just a little more...~ he kept thinking, when sadly, he tripped, tumbled, and otherwised slid several feet on the hard tiles in the schools hallway, his ankle was twisted and possibly broken, he couldn't run again, he couldn't fight... if Reece had real intentions of eating him as he implied than Nick was no more than dead. That's when a miracle happened, Nick opened his eyes and in front of him was something that didn't belong... a sword, scratch that, two identical swords... they where slightly curved and were serrated towards the handle, the handles were works of art, inlaid with gold and ebony. Nick didn't know why they were there, nor did he really know how to use them, but it was the only choice he had... he picked them both up and they seemed to be perfect for him, right weight, the handles fitted his hands perfectly, but it wasn't time to admire the handiwork, it was time to fight.

Nick quickly stood up, all the weight on his good leg, as Reece ran up to him, both arms now usable. Nick was highly untrained, but he knew some basic things about swordsmanship from shows on the T.V., but that was hardly compared to the strength and fury that Reece seemed too currently have. Nick took both of the swords up to his high right, and brought them down and left, Reece held up both of his arms, and the left one was severly cut up, at least four inches deep from both blades. Reece howled in fury and swung at Nick with his right arm, knocking him back on the ground, Reece came over and brought his foot up, assumptiably to step on Nick's head, his feet grew with his body and had broken out of his shoes, it smelled horrible. Nick did the only thing he could think of and held up the swords in a cross-block, Nick had his eyes closed so he didn't really understand what happened when Reece suddenly cried out in pain, Nick opened his eyes and Reece was hopping back on one foot, screaming in immense pain. Nick didn't have much time to think, so ignoring his ankle ran up to Reece and took both of the swords to the left side of his neck... his body dissapeared after that, and with adrenaline still pumping through his veins at an un-godly amount, Nick limped home.
"Sad, terribly sad" said the reader to the writer, "one of the characters in my book died." The writer smiled "I know the feeling, so did mine."

Re: Halfblood Hill: Olympian War

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Saken on Sun May 03, 2009 1:31 am

Saken was giggling- well, okay, she always giggled or always had some sort of smile pulling the corners of her lips upwards, showing off straight white teeth. Her long black hair, which at this time seemed to be flowing through the air and swirling about her slender hips, contrasted to sun-bronzed skin. Yes, the hair was natural, as were the intelligent- yet somewhat psychotic, gray eyes. Her eyes, oh so wide, to take in the world around her, seemed to be racing, not allowed to land on one thing for two long.

She was in the city, the Big Apple the..Well, you got the picture. As well as being such a great, wonderful, place, it was home to the gods and this small girl- well, okay, she wasn't that small, standing at 5'4, weighing about 130 pounds, most of it thin, wiry, muscles that seemed to show in her arms and legs. Her red tank top, the spaghetti straps half-way down her arms, seeming only to show of the bronzed skin more, and the short skirt, which brushed along her thigh, seemed to make her legs appear more..well, sculpted. No, she wasn't a model- too large, and not enough height, for that. She was just your regular child of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and War.

And, at that moment, her stomach rumbled and she pouted, just the quick slump of her shoulders as she stalked forward, down the street, allowing her sneakers to move and beat against the street in a well known rhythm- ah, how she loved to walk, loved the exercises, the outdoors. True, while most of her cabin tended to be bookworms, noses firmly planted in those thick novels and such written in Greek, she perfered to be up- to be ruining, to be fighting. Her mother was a Goddess of war, and it seemed as if those genes where what lead Saken right into..

A coffee shop.

"What. The. Hell?" She called out, raising a slender black brow at the male whom did not have any of the Mist on- he seemed to be showing that he was a Demi-God. She stalked over to him, quickly moving between tables, and stared up at him, her lips slightly parted to flash a glimpse of those teeth- oh. That was another problem with the slightly crazy-weapon fetished Saken. She seemed to be fearless.

Yeah. Nice town." Raziel said cleaning the dust from his glasses. He was not so careless as to leave off his mist. Like Sage he was reading, but he didn't take notice to the crowd around him. He put his glasses back on and saw Saken. "Hey, you called dibs on Thalia right?" He asked Sage , waiting for his nod. "Then I got dibs on her." He said nodding at her. "She looks angry... Think it's because you didn't leave your mist on?"

Re: Halfblood Hill: Olympian War

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Sammy-Star on Sun May 03, 2009 1:58 pm

"Hm, I wonder how they get the gummy sharks like this?" she wondered aloud before biting the tail off. She was referring to the marshmallow bottom and the blue gummy top. There was an entire plastic bag filled with the things. She always did love candy, sweet or sour, just as long it was good she'd eat it. It was the same way with pastries. "Um, Samantha, shouldn't you be paying more attention to the task at hand?" A messenger, unseen to humans, was following beside her. "I mean, you feel that presence too... Right?" Samantha flipped her brunette braids over her shoulder and bit the torso of the helpless gummy shark and swallowed. "Of course." she replied to the messenger, her tone light and happy. She smiled as she ate the rest of the shark. She never did like sharks, but these she liked. "Then let us got and see what it is." The messenger's tone was urgent sounding. "All right." she said, even though she wanted to explore the huge city more. This was the first time she'd ever been to New York. She lived in Texas for most of her life but after hearing that other children of the gods were alive, she decided she wanted to meet them. She was well-read about Greek and Roman mythology, but never had she read that the gods would have children like herself. She felt honored. She was slightly nervous, however. She didn't know who's children were here, nor did she know if they were friendly. She hoped they were.

"They aren't that far..." she said to the messenger. "About..." Samantha looked around, scanning the street blocks and such with her emerald green eyes. "Somewhere close to 5 blocks away." The messenger made a face. He was concerned for her safety. One would question why he was only just now starting to worry. She had come all the way up here from Texas! Over a thousand miles away! Apollo had told him to keep a close on on his daughter. He was a busy guy, he couldn't look after her 24/7, so he appointed his most trusted messenger to follow her around and tell him when things started to go bad. The messenger followed her hesitantly as she continued to walk, eating her bag of blue and white gummy sharks.

After walking five blocks, the two came upon a small coffee shop. She saw a crowd of people leaving and wondered what was going on. She then realized the presences were in the shop. There were 3 definite people who were like her. She approached the shop window cautiously. Peering inside, she saw a boy with white hair and glasses, and two others next to him. A tan black-hair girl and a very pale male with short black hair. All three of them were beautiful. It was to be expected from children of the gods. She stayed at her position at the window and continued to peer inside, debating whether or not she should go inside in her head.

Sage turned the page of his book, titled "Brisingr", and glanced over at his dear friend, Raziel. "Thalia is a huntress, she has shunned the world of men. Not only that, but she is over three years younger than you or I, and frankly, you really should treat women as something more than objects to chase." He sighed as he brushed the tooth shaped scar on his neck. "As for this girl, it does seem she is mad at me for that reason, though she really should address me on it rather than just stand there and stare at me." He folded the corner of the page he was reading and closed the book with a rather loud slam. His full attention was now on the girl who had somewhat rudely appeared and interrupted his reading with her toothy glare. "So, miss, how can I help you?"

At such callous words of one of the male's, the one with white hair and glasses, she switched her gapin-stare to a down-right glare. She stalked forward, her tennis shoes making small thuds on the ground as she leaned forward, smacking a hand down onto the table. "What do you think is my problem, hmm?"

Shaking her head, the girl leaned forward as several strands of black hair fell around her shoulders and her red tie pooled onto the table, her lips curled downwards in a frown as she curled her nose up, almost in distaste. Of course- it didn't matter he hadn't asked what her problem was, she could tell yea, she always could.

"You guys are FLAUNTING being DEMI-GODS! And.." her gaze swung to the white-haired male. "I am not an object, kay?" She huffed a bit- this was probably why her mother never really "married" it must have been annoying having to put up with males, although they did seem to have a few nice weapons.

Sage sighed as he concidered weaving a spell over the girl's vocal cords to make her silent.. before she blurted out to the entire world that they weren't human.. He put his rather heavy book down on the table and gave the girl his usual stare with his blood red eyes. "You need to calm down. I am hiding as much of my presence as my power will allow me to. Half of my weapons are concealed by mist." He indicated the wavering chains he had on his belt. "The rest are just too strong to conceal with mist, and I haven't yet given them mediums to change into. Also, please excuse my friend. He says whatever he feels and rarely thinks it over."

"Yeah..." he said stopping. "Wait. Hey!" He finished punching Sage in the shoulder. He turned his attention towards Saken, "I'm sorry miss, but I havn't been in the company of an attractive woman for seven years. Please forgive me." He looked up and saw Samantha staring in through the window. "Hey," he whispered to Sage. "I have a sudden craving for Gummy Sharks... You?"

He put his book down and got up. He went over to Saken and pulled a chair out for her. "Now if you both will excuse me I'm going to get drinks. Mocha for you Sage? What about for you Saken?"

Samantha still continued to examine the three from the window. She watched as the black-haired male explained something to the female.Though she was facing away, Sam could tell she was pissed off by the way she stood. She wonder what she was angry about, but wouldn't go up and actually ask her.

A few moments later she saw the white-haired male glance over her way. Samantha wasn't sure if he was looking her or not till he leaned over and whispered something to the other male who, now, looked slightly angry. She read his lips. He had said something around the lines of "Craving" and "Gummy Sharks". Sh*t he was looking at her. She saw him get up and she quickly moved away from the window; to the side so he couldn't see her. She looked at her messenger with a concerned look and he raised a brow. "I think one of them saw me..." she said quietly. The messenger sighed and shook his head, short golden locks moving along with the motion of his head. "What?" Samantha asked innocently, her face looking quizzical. "Just go in there." the messenger told her. She shook her head quickly. The messenger grabbed her shoulders and spun her around towards the door and pushed her in.

She straightened herself out after being pushed inside and kept her eyes away from the group at the table. Instead of walking over to them, she walked up to the counter and waited in line. She wanted something to drink. She just walked several blocks to get here, and being nervous made her thirsty. Plus, she could do a mini steak-out to make sure they really were children of the gods.

Blinking her, rather, large eyes the girl nodded to the white haired male- who seemed to be quite a horndog even though his words, and compliment, forced a small blush, the slightest darkening of those tanned cheeks. "I..Umm.." She shrugged, looking down at the table and tapping her fingernails on it. "Just..Let me share yours?" She giggled a bit- it was something most of the campers hadn't understood. She loved to see what others like, a sort of experiment.

After the suggestion she peeked upwards, to see if the white-haired male was still there. If he was, she would give him a crooked grin, and then turn. If not, well, no grin. "What are you reading?" She asked the rude male before her- she didn't like how "powerful" he was, or supposed to be, and though his ego needed to be toned down or, quite frankly, she would tone it done for him.

Sage glanced over at the girl who had just stumbled into the cafe'. She gave off an aura he was very familiar with.. But he didn't feel like calling it to attention. He lifted up his book to show Saken the title and sighed deeply. This wasn't exactly new to him.. It seemed like all the demigods in the world just had to gather around him if he leeked out too much aura.. He glanced up at Saken again, knowing that she was obviously upset with him for some odd reason. She was probably mad about him using the word power. She apparently had no clue who he was... So in responce to her apparent thoughts, he let some of his aura leek from him in her direction.

She shrugged- his aura, which seemed to have gotten stronger- funny thing, wasn't that bad to her, fuck, she had once hung around Percy and got used to the bite of power along her sk- Percy.

That's who the male in front of her kinda reminded her of, no not in looks but in power and she almost squealed a bit. Leaning forward the girl fixed him with a grey-eyes stare, smirking slightly. "I'm Saken, daughter of Athena-how about you..?" She, suddenly, craved the knowledge of who he was, what he was, and what kinda..information she could get out of him.

"Your one for trying new things out aren't you?" He asked Saken, receiving the smile. He blushed back. "Right then, a mocha for Sage and a french vanilla cappachino with caramel for Saken and myself. Raziel smiled as he walked away. He was one for trying new things too. Raziel got into line and noticed Samantha get in line behind him. He turned and faced her. "Your the one who makes me crave Gummy Sharks. Do you know why this is? Anyway, you must be another Halfling like myself, Sage, and Saken over there. I can tell because I can see your messenger." He said gesturing towards Saken and Sage. " What would you like to drink? It's on me." He asked her walking up to the counter and taking out his wallet.

At this, Sage's eyes narrowed and turned black. "My name is Sage Date. I'm the son of Hades, lord of the underworld." With that, he allowed half of his aura pour from his body and fill the area. Images of death and torture filled the minds of every human in the area and caused the to fall to their knees, gripping their skulls. Sage smirked as he felt the effects he was having on the humans. He lowered his aura and each of the humans fell over, eyes wide and shaking. He chuckled a bit to himself then looked back at Raziel. "Well, he seems to have found another. How nice." He casually rested his hand on Soulrender's hilt and turned his attention on Saken once more.

She blinked, almost appearing taken back before shrugging. "Oh well." She didn't much care- although her might ba an intresting expirament. How did girl's get information out of guys, anyway? Shaking her head she leaned forward, placing her elbows on the table wtih a soft yawn, only half-opening her mouth before fiddling with the band on her arm, nose scrunched up. "So, are you heading to the camp?" She wanted to know- cause with what he was doin monsters might just come and kill them- she was rather glad for the tye around her neck- it was, in reality, Wicked Truth- her blade.

As she waited in line, the person in front of her turned around and faced her. It was the white-haired boy. Oh shit... She listened to him speak. Ha! I knew I was right! she thought after he made the comment about the Gummy Sharks. She glanced down to the still-full bag in her hand. She looked back up at him as he told her how he knew about her secret and how he could see her father's messenger. She looked at the window to see him slowly flying away innocently. She made a face then turned back to him, blushing slightly. "Well, I came here because my father told me how other Demi-gods are alive..." she told him, her voice slightly lowered. "I got curious so I came out here. I didn't know my search would actually come up successful..." She shrugged and followed him to the counter.

"What would you like to drink? It's on me."

She blushed again slightly. Oh dear... This time she could tell she was blushing. Never in her entire life was she good at speaking with guys. She scratched the back of her head slightly. "Oh, um... You don't have to get me anything. It's fine!" She chuckled weakly and glanced away. "But... I guess if you insist... I guess I'll have a mocha frapaccino." She smiled, embarrassed. She hated to impose, or force someone to get her something because she was a girl. But if they offered, she was supposed to accept. "Oh, you said you were craving Gummy Sharks..." She held up her bag. "Do... you want some?" she asked.

Home... yes, it was time to go home. Nick couldn't call the police, who's believe him that a giant just tried to eat him? He got many stares from people roaming the streets, even though it was the middle of the day and most people were at work or school. Nick simply ignored them and forced his leg to move even though it was definatly broken... he opened the door to the good sized loft he and his mother shared with his key, and was greeted by a yelp of surprise from his mom when she looked at him from thier couch in the middle of the room. "Nick! where... what... what happened to you?" he gave his mom a pained look as she jumped up and rushed over to help him, then she noticed the blades in his hands and gasped "they came for you didn't they?!" he gave her a blank stare before responding "who?... but chances are... yes. I almost got eaten by... something." Nick was tired, he broke his ankle, barely escaped death from a giant that wanted to eat him, DID escape from being eaten... and the day was only going to be longer.

His mom looked at him with sad eyes and said "there are a few things I haven't told you, but there is no time to explain now... there are going to be more people like that last one coming for you." Nick looked back at her and simply nodded, knowing that if more of them came than he probably would die. He quickly ran to his room and packet a few essentials, mainly clothes, into an old army backpack before following his mom out the door to the car where she said she was going to take him someplace safe.

The car ride was relatively silent, up until a point where they passed a cafe' and Nick grabbed his head in pain because all of a sudden images of death and burned bodies filled his mind. After the quizicall glance of his mom from his sudden reaction, she just kept her eyes on the road and kept driving. His mom pulled the car over and said "we are walking from here" his mom got out first, and Nick was soon to follow, but something felt wrong... something... and then it hit him, literally, hit him... full on dead tackle came charging a giant, much like the one who assaulted him in the school. Nick hit the ground hard, probably shattering his broken ankle, he landed on his left side, which may have broken the arm as well, but Nick didn't care, all the adrenaline going through him made him ignore the pain. Nick rolled over onto his back to an unfriendly sight, a giant licking his lips and drooling on him, Nick did what he could to resist, but it all seemed futile, the monster had him pinned down, knee's on his arms. With all the struggling, Nick didn't notice his mom coming up behind the monster, his swords held out in front of her as she shouted "Nick!" and used one to make a weak slash on the monster lower calf. The giant screamed in pain at the wound and turned around to face Nick's mother, he got off of Nick's arms, and his mom threw the swords over the giant towards Nick, as if he knew how to use them any better. The monster quickly turned his attention back to Nick, now that he had the weapons, Nick didn't know much about swordplay, but the few things he did, he learned with a single blade... so Nick dropped the left blade and put both hands on the handle of the right one. The giant, now howling in anger, charged at Nick full steam like a freighter train and before Nick had time to even think about it, he got down low and when the monster reached him Nick grabbed his legs and flew the beast over his head ~where did I learn that?~ Nick thought to himself, as the monster began to stand back up. Nick, not really knowing what else to do, charged the beast while it was still on the ground, and in anger, fury, and pure adrenaline, he stabbed it in the back, again, and again, and again... until like the last giant, this one faded away.... the differnce of this battle being, as soon as he walked over and picked up his other sword, all the adrenaline drained from him, leaving him to pass out on the assfault. the last thing he heard was "we are here son... we made it to Camp Half-Blood."

"Mocha Frapacchino it is. And yes, I'd quite like one." He said ordering the drinks and then taking a Gummy Shark. He bit on the tail and looked up at Samantha. "I quite like the marshmellow tail. Ever wonder how they make them?" he asked her. "I'm Raziel by the way, and you are?" He said, walking over to the table and gesturing her to follow him. He handed Samantha her drink, then Sage his, and then finally Saken's and His drink. "Sage, Saken. I found another." he said. "Another halfling I meant. Not a girl to pester." He said to Sage who was smirking.

Sage took his drink from Raziel and stopped smirking long enough for him to down the drink in one go. He sighed steam and smirked once more. "We both know what you're really thinking, Kelphead, and that's never the only thing on your mind. Remember that time with those girls from Denm-" He flinched a bit when he felt something like static travel down his aura and into him. His eyes widened and he turned to Raziel. "There's a sky kid around here, and I don't think he or she is in good shape. A bunch of ditress bolts like Thalia's just hit me.. From Long Island." He quickly got up and pulled two sets of keys from his pocket and tossed Raziel one of them. "Get your bike, we gotta find that kid before something bad happens.."
