Re: Twilight Vs. The Last Airbender

Avatar is not technically an anime, it's actually called anime-influenced animation. But the English dictionary defines it as 'Japanese-style animation', as in anything mocking the manga style artwork, even if it does not originate in Japan itself. Avatar is highly anime influenced and its cartoon d...

Re: I would like to have a tutor to help me with RP

Yeah, that's probably why I didn't get it. I can critique work for grammar and quality, most definitely, just PM it to me and I'll give you my thoughts or we can do it 1x1 in real time private message for a better/quicker experience.

Re: [OOC] Without Absolution

Sorry. I know I said I'd post tonight but I really f'd up my finger during an argument. I don't know what's wrong with it yet but the tip is purple and there's a black and blue line along my first joint, and it's EXCRUCIATING to type on. I'll wait and see if the swelling goes down tomorrow and try t...

Re: [OOC] Without Absolution

Simin is a truth teller. She'll know what happened and your character won't get in trouble. Don't worry about it. Given Maestro's most recent post, I feel it urgent to note to everyone (because I unfortunately didn't touch on it) that in Kethadria, women are a superior sex. They are not looked down ...

Re: Twilight Vs. The Last Airbender

This is pretty 'duh' to me. Twilight is inferior as a cinematic composition and as a piece of writing. The Twilight fad will pass soon, and I can't wait until it does. Avatar: The Last Airbender was an ingenious animated series. And while I am not thrilled that M. Night is who took on the project (a...

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

I thought the name was Pantalaimon, from His Dark Materials? Huh. Anyway, I'd suggest the first image as being the most interesting to work with. I would like to see Myth's interpretation of how that should be done. I have a few ideas myself.

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

Just wanted to lay it on you, Myth, that you did a MUUUUUUUCH better job with Lady Ethereal's last request. Wonderful! I'm glad to see you utilize more of those techniques. In fact, now my only qualm with it is your text blending. We're down to one! Your work instantly jumped from a C to a B+ with a...

Re: [OOC] Without Absolution

Probably not the temple immediately. Probably a small jail-cell until they decide whether or not the character is innocent, which will require Simin's involvement in the trial or to appeal to the king directly (she's going there to talk to him anyway, so it's opportune as far as timing. :) )

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

Negative space is what I was thinking, but everywhere I look it's called blank space. Negative is what I learned in art class. Empty also works, honestly, since the idea is to keep it empty. :| But whatever. Let me invent words, okay?!

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

I wanted to give you an example of flow, too, Myth, because the previous signature (before I had a command of it) didn't do any job at all of that. There's something in graphic arts called empty space, which is important to keep. When I say you need to rework your background techniques, I don't just...

Re: [OOC] Without Absolution

Kawai, your character will end up with the blame eventually, but Simin (like I said, being against capital punishment) will probably find other means of "punishment" for that, or understand it wasn't wholly intentional and work something else out. She is a very compassionate character. Do ...

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

I do indeed use Photoshop. I create my backgrounds by making duplicates of the render of the character, and use motion blur on them. Then I add abstract renders to the background, and use some different filters on the character render. Now that I know what you mean by blending, I understand what yo...

Re: Freebie Sigs [Taking Requests]

No, I definitely saw all of your submissions---including the very last ones. They suffer the same lack of blending, unfortunately. To be fair, you aren't far off. What program do you use? I think you use a lot of brush work for your backgrounds. If you do, you need to start doing more manually or by...

Re: Comparison: BP Oil Spill - Chernobyl Reactor Meltdown

Chernobyl being much worse by what comparison? http://www.energybulletin.net/node/52716 Many experts are considering this to be on-par with Chernobyl and, depending on who you talk to, the oil spill is expected to have more long-term damage overall (the indefinite amount of time this oil is supposed...

Re: [OOC] Without Absolution

I made a preliminary response to the fire (by no means complete; she does intend to extinguish it but I didn't want to do too much in a single post). From now on all posts relating to the Temple, including the ongoing plot, are to be moved in reply to mine in the Temple. Thank you.

The Grand Palace of Light is working again. Eric reset the entire server to fix it. Please move all related roleplay posts, from the 'Kethadria' location to the appropriate Temple location. Thank you.

Re: Obesity and the Overweight

I pretty much can't stand that so many people are fat nowadays. I don't understand the inability to walk to the store a few blocks away, or to use stairs, or to just not eat junk. I'm not a skinny mini, but I am a healthy weight and don't have any weight-related problems and don't understand why it ...
