Introduction

ImageTwo factions of vampires locked in eternal war.

The Fallen are vampires who revel in the pleasures of human blood, gladly drinking their victims to death. These are considered evil and horrid by The Forbearers; vampires who have never killed a human by drinking it. They too live off of human blood, but they prefer willing subjects or bagged blood, and though they refrain from killing humans, they gladly destroy members of The Fallen. The two factions have always hated and fought each other.

This roleplay is centered around two covens, one of The Fallen and one of The Forbearers. The war between the two is by far more complex than that of the factions, deepened by the fact that the leader of The Fallen tempted and manipulated the partner of The Forbearers' Leader, into drinking a human to death, making him Fall. After this, she slept with him and killed him. Just for fun. The leader of The Forbearers was heartbroken and furious, and possessed by thoughts of revenge, she killed The Fallen Leader's personal blood slave, of whom she was very possessive.

This started the Coven-war, fueled by hate and retribution, 1012 years ago. Through the years, more things have built upon this. Every time the covens have met, chaos, death and blood have followed, thickening the pile of reasons for the feud for all members involved. It is now no longer only a war wanted only by the Leaders, but rather one craved by all members of the two covens. Some, however, wish it more than others.

4 months ago The Forbearer Coven purposefully began hunting a Fallen due to a promise made to a human. What they don't yet know, is that the specific vampire they search, is a member of The Fallen Coven they so despise.

In Washington, however, in the territory of The Fallen Coven, the two meet again. Who dies and who lives? What happens when The Forbearers find out the identity and Coven of he one they have been searching? How do The Fallen Coven react to the turf-invasion of The Forbearers? What chaos evolves this time around?

The Vampires

 • They do not burst into flames in sunlight, but it does make their skin itch and sting terribly. In fact, it's so uncomfortable, most only dare outside in daylight, if they absolutely have to - they most certainly do not sparkle.
 • They need real, human blood, so no, they cannot live on animals. They can get bagged blood, but it does not taste as well as when you get it straight from a source. You might compare bagged blood to cheap fastfood, while fresh blood would be a gourmet meal.
 • They are capable of feeling and are usually quite territorial and possessive.
 • They are stronger, faster and with senses more keen than that of humans. These things increases with age, meaning the older the vampire, the stronger the vampire.
 • They do not have marble-white skin, but it does tend to be rather pale.
 • They are not ice-cold to the touch, merely always slightly chilled compared to your average human.
 • They do not appear to age.
 • They can easily control when to show their fangs, as those are retractable. This is what it would look like.
 • They are not affected by crosses whatsoever, but holy water burns their skin. They can only be killed by beheading and bullets only hurt them if they're very plentiful, although of course massive bloodloss and the likes can weaken them quite a bit.
 • They heal rapidly, but even their healing process can be made slow by lack of blood. However, a single feeding can heal a vampire completely, restoring him from the brink of death. Conclusion? The more blood in the Vampire's system, the faster the healing process.
 • They can also heal humans, by giving them their blood. However, if humans die with vampire blood in their veins, there is a 75% chance they will come back as vampires. The remaining 25% of those hundred, are the humans who just die.
 • They can no longer be born. Long ago, female vampires could conceive, albeit with a very high death rate. No one knows why the ability vanished millenniums ago, but it did. If male vampires get human women pregnant, both the humans and the unborn offspring in them, die before birth or during this. There are no record of any kind of natural born vampires since before the birth of Christ.

The Covens

A coven consist of four different positions; Leader, Protector, Enforcers and Procurers. They are big on hierarchy and firmly believe that a Leader is a Leader; you follow orders and are punished if you do not complete them to satisfaction. Failing your Leader is shameful beyond compare. Covens are also sexually equal in the sense that your gender matters naught when it comes to position and power; only your age and your ability to lead does.

 • Leader: The leader of the coven. This person is usually the oldest, and thereby the strongest too. The Leader is oftentimes the Maker of at least one of the other coven members, and the coven members are sworn into always being loyal to the Leader, putting the coven Leader in a very powerful position. The position of Leader can either be gained by making one’s own coven, which is nearly impossible, or by killing the leader of another coven.

 • Protector: This position is second most powerful in the coven. The Protector answers only to the coven Leader, and is, as the title states, charged with protecting the him/her. This position is almost always occupied by amale, and his main purpose is so guard. He might be compared to a fierce body guard, one who would die to save his "Master". He is usually seen with the Leader, being his/her right hand man... or in some cases, woman.

 • Enforcer: These are the elite soldiers of a vampire coven. Their sole purpose is killing and obeying orders. Enforcers are, as the word itself states, the enforcers of the Leader's (or Protector's) words; they are those dispatched on missions. A coven can have any amount of Enforcers, but it is most common to have 2-5 in a Cover. Of course, the amount of Procurers has to reflect this amount to come extent.

 • Procurers: Vampires of this particular title are lowest in rank of all. They are usually the young vampires, those who are not experienced or skilled enough to take on any other role in a coven. They deal with humans on behalf of the coven, bringing them home to be fed on, or to be enslaved. They are eternal servants, for lack of a better word, but they then also function as nurses and grocers. A coven is often dependent on having one of several good Procurers as they make sure blood is always available; something that can be incredibly important to an Enforcer coming home from a job, empty of blood and too weak to hunt.

The Factions

 • There are two factions of vampires. The Fallen and the Forbearers. They are mostly alike, aside for a few differences; the Fallen have blood-red eyes, just like someone else would have blue ones. They can be different shades of red, depending on how often and when ones last feeding was. The Forbearers have clear eyes, keeping their human colour in some way; it might have become darker/lighter after the change to vampires, but is essentially the same. The Fallen are considered "Evil" vampires, and the Forbearers are considered "Good", although that perception is a tad outdated and square. In reality, the line between the two factions can either be very distinct, or, for some vampires, very blurry.
 • The Fallen are vampires who have killed a human by drinking it. The taking of a life in this fashion is what changes ones eyes to become red, so oftentimes the transition is a voluntary one. Now, why would anyone do that? Well, sometimes the Maker was Fallen and guided the fledgling into life that way. For others, it was a conscious choice because killing by drinking a victim is a high, and it leaves the vampire even stronger than usual, for a certain amount of time.
 • The two factions are enemies by definition, always believing themselves to be true vampires and the other faction to be wrong in some way.

The Fallen

Image
Leader|Helena the Bloody|2076|Insane & Sadistic|Deborah Ann Woll|Taken - Mela

- Made Roxanne Tataeu a vampire because she thought her entertaining, and decided to "keep" her.
- Made Kristof Allucius a vampire because she liked his violent tendencies and ruthlessness. Plus, she thought he was hot.
- Made Oliver Alexander because she thought it would be fun to make a vampire-hunter, a vampire.

Image
Protector|Kristof Allucius|1598|Cold & Violent|Tyler Hoechlin|Taken - Little Fox

- Was Made by Helena the Bloody after almost dying on the battlefield. He fell in love with her soon after, and is still lost for her. However, he has never told her this, despite the fact that they often have sex.

Image
Enforcer|Lucan Norvel|832|Sly & Manipulative|Matt Bomer|Taken - Little Fox

- Was Made by Derek Fleitner, but was unable to keep himself from drinking a victim dry. This made him a Fallen, and he was ostracized from his Forbearer coven. This was about 450 years ago, and after some time on his own, he met a young Roxanne Tataeu who he slept with. Subsequently, she offered him a place in her coven.

Image
Enforcer|Oliver Alexander|817|Stubborn & Fierce|Nathaniel Buzolic|Taken - Korrye

- Was Made by Helena the Bloody much against his will, as he was a vampire hunter. He tried to kill her after his change at first, but she made short work of his attempt, calling him "laughable". After a while, he gave up and accepted his new life. Now, he has seen the advantages to being a vampire and his feelings of hatred are being swallowed by thankfulness.

Image
Procurer|Roxanne Tataeu|449|Vain & Bitchy|Gage Golightly|Taken - ImagineThat!

- Was Made by Helena the Bloody after meeting the Vampire briefly, not thinking she would ever see the woman again. Helena the Bloody approached her, forcing her into an alleyway, before she forced her blood down her throat, and broke her neck. Roxanne Tataeu* came back to life as a vampire.
- Convinced Lucan Norvel to join the coven after sleeping with him.

Image
New Procurer|303|Sarcastic & Cynical|Kaley Cuoco|Reserved

- Angel doesn't know this, but some 280 years ago, she made a vampire. It was an accident, and *Kaley* was supposed to die, but Angel was fresh from a fight, still bleeding, and at the point of starvation... so she got sloppy. *Kaley* accidentally got some of Angel's blood in her mouth when she bit her bleeding arm, trying to defend herself. She came back as a vampire, long after Angel was gone. Angel doesn't remember her now, but *Kaley* certainly remembers her... as the Forbearer who left her to rot. Upon meeting Helena in town, she shared this story, and Helena took her in.

The Forbearers

Image
Leader|Alessa Dattolo|1601|Caring & Judgmental|Sophia Bush|Taken - WhiteTiger08

- Made *Clemence Poesy* after finding the woman bleeding in a secluded area. She was drawn by the smell of blood. *Clemence Poesy* choked out that she had been attacked by a man. Alessa Dattolo offered her a chance to get back at said man; to never be vulnerable like that again, and *Clemence Poesy* agreed to.

Image
Protector|Derek Fleitner|1599|Protective & Unforgiving|Alexander SkarsgΓ₯rd|Taken - Mela

- Made Lucan Norvel after finding him dying from a heart attack in the streets, but personally kicked him out of the coven once he saw that the vampire's eyes had turned red.
- Made Angiluzza Maniscalco after seeing her hunting on her own. He liked her ability to stay quiet, and to hit her mark. Plus, the coven was one member down and she was obviously alone.

Image
Enforcer|709|Intelligent & Condescending|Clemence Poesy|Taken - OverTheRainbow

- Was Made by Alessa Dattolo after being promised that she would be able to avenge her own attack.
- Made *Matt Dallas* because he reminded her of her younger brother, who she had loved dearly as a human, and had come to see grow up regularly. He was by himself, looking drunk and miserable, standing on the edge of a cliff overlooking wildly tossing water - a fall that would surely kill him. She forced him away from it, and after talking to him, being told his story, she decided to turn him.

Image
New Enforcer|1001|Instinctual & Loyal|Jenna Ushkowitz|Reserved

- This vampire never got to know her maker who left her to die. But she awoke, and for several decades she nearly starved, terrified to kill someone while drinking, even if she did not yet know what it would do. This caused her to rely on instinct; being on her own. But then she met Derek, who taught her everything she knows, before they parted rather abruptly. Now he needs her help.

Image
Enforcer|Angiluzza Maniscalco|842|Wild & Mysterious|Miranda Kerr|Taken - Little Fox

- Made by Derek Fleitner. She was in the woods, alone, hunting for food, when she was grabbed from behind and rendered unconscious. When she awoke, he was standing over her, welcoming her to life as something much greater. She feels thankful, because life as a human had been extremely hard on her. Here, she always has food and most importantly, a family to watch her back.

Image
Procurer|Isaac Warren|151|Loyal & Careful|Matt Dallas|Taken - SuperNinjaRoo

- Made by *Clemence Poesy* after she saved him from killing himself. He had been heartbroken and drunk, seeing death as his only way out. Once she asked him what had lead him to his current situation, the words poured. She offered him a chance to become something able to take what and who he wanted whenever he wanted, and he couldn't resist temptation. She just seemed so genuine.

Image
New Procurer|Colin O'donoghue|99|Playful & Charming|OPEN

- *Colin*, as a human, was what you might call a "womanizer", and that was all great, until he messed around with the wrong woman; one who could not deal with him leaving her. So she turned him. She taught him how to feed to survive, but it was the bare minimum, and after she was killed by a Fallen nomad, he realized he had to learn more to survive past his hundredth year, and when he met Annabelle, he thought he'd found salvation... but then she died. However, that didn't keep him from seeking out her coven himself.

The Humans

Much like humans keep milk and meat in the fridge at home, vampires keep blood on tab in the form of either Blood Pets or Blood Slaves. These are humans who live with and are provided for by the vampires, either with or without consent.

 • Blood Pets are humans who are willingly residing with the vampires. For some, this is because they've fallen in love with a vampire in a certain coven, or something along those lines. For others, it's a drug in itself. When a human is bitten by a vampire, the vampire can choose whether to make it painful or pleasurable, by deciding on whether to exude venom from their fangs. If they do exude venom, the bite will be incredibly pleasurable - erotic even, but if not... well, then you can imagine having your blood sucked in such a fashion, is excruciatingly painful.
 • Blood Slaves are humans who, as the word says, have been enslaved. They aren't necessarily against this, but it was never a choice for them. Others might hate/fear their captors and want out. Whichever is the case, choice was never a part of the process. They are often people who have lived in the streets previously or such, so no one would miss them. However, this act of "saving" people from a life on the streets, may gain the vampires gratitude from some Blood Slaves, who will then become a mixture Blood Pets and Slaves.

Coven|Status|Age|Personality Traits|FC|Availability

Image
The Fallen|Kaleigh Ann|Leader's Slave|17|Devoted & Frightful|Molly Quinn|Taken - SuperNinjaRoo

- Was kidnapped by *Gage Golightly*, intended especially for Helena the Bloody, who... "accidentally" killed her last slave. Kaleigh Ann has a kind of immunity to all the others, as Helena the Bloody is very possessive, never sharing her food, and would flip on a coin if anyone else bit her toy. She was kidnapped about 1 year ago. Helena the Bloody enjoys to scare her and "play" with her.

Image
The Fallen|Leader's New Slave|15|Imaginative & Compassionate|Emily Browning|OPEN

- *Emily* always read about vampires, fascinated with these creatures of the night, but she never thought she'd ever get to meet one... or several. And they're more than she'd ever expected. She's yet to realize the danger she's found herself in, but one might hope she starts to figure it out once someone feeds from her. Kristof chose her because she had that air he knows Helena likes; innocence and O+, and she's only just been kidnapped.

Image
The Fallen|Slave|27|Temperamental & Hateful|Jackson Rathbone|Taken - Little Fox

- Has been a bloodslave for about a decade or so, and has grown to hate his captors with a passion, although he has accepted his place in the world and has stopped his many former attempts of escaping. Attempts which were all punished very harshly. He has a lot of scars from being tortured into submission.

Image
The Fallen|Scarlett Wilsten|Pet|22|Unpredictable & Troubled|Sky Ferreira|Taken - Supertoastgirl

- Lived a messed up life. Her past is pretty fucked up, involving drinking parents, drugs and physical and/or emotional abuse. She was first drunk from by one of the Fallen enforcers who was on a job and needed a drink, when she was 15, and she found it made her forget everything. She had tried drugs before then, but they had never worked as well. She spent the next couple of years searching for that vampire and 3 years ago she found him. She immediately took him up on his offer of becoming a blood pet.

Image
The Forbearers|Adonis Charmides|Slave/Pet|19|Paranoid & Rude|David Henrie|Taken - Little Fox

- Was "rescued" by *Matt Dallas*, who intended to make him into a blood slave. Before then, Adonis Charmides lived on the streets, alone and abandoned, living off of garbage and other scraps. Due to this rescue, he feels gratitude and loyalty towards these vampires, which, in time, has made him a willing blood slave. A Slave Pet. However, his past still colours his attitude and general personality. He has been with them for two years.

Image
The Forbearers|Eva Clarke|Pet|21|Lovesick & Optimistic|Lea Michelle|Taken - Korrye

- Met Derek Fleitner in a bar a year ago, and fell hopelessly in love. She is completely captivated by him, although he feels nothing in return. To her, that only makes him more attractive. Once *Matt Dallas* learned of this, he offered her a chance to be physically with her love, living with him and providing food for him and his family. She took him up on it, and once she figured out how he'd meant it, she looked past it, because being around her beloved is worth it to her.

Image
The Forbearers|Pet|24|Helpful & Polite|Brendon Urie|Taken - OverTheRainbow

- Was engaged to be married, happy as could be. A Fallen vampire drained her, killed her in front of his eyes. Something distracted the vampire before he got to killing *Brendon Urie*, however. He searched for years to find the vampire who killed his fiancee, but he could never find him. So, instead, after researching vampires for a time, he sought out the Forbearers. He said he'd do anything if they could find the vampire who destroyed his life. They agreed, if he would provide them blood as payment for their aid, which he agreed to. This was 4 months ago and initiated the actual hunt.

Image
The Forbearers|New Pet|22|Calm & Obedient|Milo Ventimiglia|OPEN

- *Milo* has been a blood pet all of his life and being the son of two blood slaves, he has never known anything else. He is not a blood pet because he wants to help vampires, but because it procures security and he's not sure how to get by on his own. A month ago, his entire Forbearer coven was slaughtered by Fallen, and until he bumped into Eva, he'd been lost, searching for a new coven to take him in.

Age: The age your character either is, or, if vampire, the age at which your character froze. (If vampire, insert real age in between these two brackets)

Birthday: The date your character was born, including year. The roleplay is currently in May 2012.

Bloodtype: If human, write own bloodtype. If vampire, write preferred bloodtype - not your character's own.

Place of Origin: Where your character's from originally.

Likes:
What your character likes. At least five, please.

Dislikes:
What your character dislikes. At least five here too.

Fear(s):
What does your character fear? we'll need at least one here, but more is definitely preferable.

Secret(s):
What's your character's dirty little secret(s)? Please do try to think of something. Unless having secrets contradicts your character's personality completely, we want something put here.

Personality:
1-4 paragraphs on your character's personality. We need good points as well as bad ones. No one is perfect.

History:
Your character's life up until now, but keep to high points. Reading the life of a 1500 year old vampire might be a bit much, so be a bit picky with what you choose to write down in that case. If you're a human, we need you to expand a bit on how you character ended up with vampires. We made things vague to give you room to use your imagination. If you're a vampire, we will need something on how and by who you were turned, along with how you ended up with your Coven. We need at least 2 paragraphs, and we're not putting a max because some histories need space to properly fold out. Enjoy the writing!

Anything Else:
Anything you need to underline about your character, or anything you might need to add. It can be talents or just physical notes, like a tattoo/piercing or whatnot, but keep in mind that vampires cannot be tattooed/pierced, unless it was done when they were human, so a 1000 year old vampire most likely would not have a tattoo because that was normal to do when the person was human.

Toggle Rules

 • Respect each other, please. We don't want fighting in the OOC, for instance.
 • Please do keep all the info on the vampires in mind. If you mess up the lore - at least parts we have detailed - we're going to have a problem.
 • Do no join if you will not be willing to take on more than one character - I may need you to.
 • Reserve your character in the OOC, not by PM. If you want a FC changed, first inform me of it in the OOC, then PM me, Mela, about which you would like. This is to make sure we have no double-reservation. As with every roleplay, I have a password you have to put in your reservation to let me know you have read the rules. First part of the password is "Hi Mels".
 • There will be made a relationships thread, and we're not that many characters, so we very much expect everyone to finish the sheets. I will keep bugging you if you don't.
 • I expect you to be committed if you join this roleplay. I have spent a lot of time on it, and believe me, I will not be happy about you dropping off the face of the earth for a month. I will boot you if that happens and either kills or hand over your character. There will be no coming back. If you're going to be gone for a little while because of some family emergency or whatnot, please do inform me of it before, and I'll give you some time. I'm not completely heartless.
 • I have set a minimum of 500 words on average per post; I want literate roleplayers. I will hunt you down with a pitchfork if you ever post less than 350 words. Let's put it like that. Second part of the password is "and everyone".
 • Blood, violence, foul language and sexual content will probably occur, so if you're skittish about any of those things, this roleplay probably isn't for you.
 • Last, but not least, enjoy! Oh, and do not let my baby die, I'm begging you. =)

The couch was comfortable, almost too much so. Eva hunched forward, tapping her nails along the glass in short rhythms. Her fingers alternated through the pattern until the noise because too dizzying. She paused to sigh, bringing the glass to her lips with both hands to down the remainder of it. Shakily she set the empty glass on a stack of milk crates serving as a side table. She leaned forward, watching Jasper move throughout the kitchen unconcerned with Angel’s leering glare and animalistic posture. She flinched as he froze when the vampire leaned in and threatened him. Biting her tongue, she closed her eyes to try and ignore the virtual action thriller emerging in their kitchen. She had had enough of their feeding today. Derek had never been so aggressive. What had changed? She rubbed at her eyes and sighed, looking over towards Jasper again to see him portioning his cooking of the day. He looked over his shoulder at her, smiling weakly. Eva smiled back, trying to convey that she was worried for him, that she cared for him. They had become close since she had joined the coven as a pet. He had taught her so much. Now she wished she could help him, defend him, tell Angel off. But they had no right. This was what they had signed up for after all. But Angel was always the most imposing. The more Eva spent time around her, the more she felt like the Italian vampire was the most…vindictive. Then again, they all could be that way. Derek had certainly shown her that today.

β€œEva, your meal's on the side here,” Jasper explained. Eva shook her head before nodding, her cloudy mind tuning into his words. She saw the plate he had left for her and she smiled wider, licking her lips. β€œThank-you,” she smiled. β€œWill you excuse us for a few minutes?” he asked gently. Eva shrugged and looked away then, knowing he was being polite but recognizing that he was also heading to a separate room with Angel alone. It was unsettling today to know that. She couldn’t say why. She had never thought of it in that way before. Her lack of comment had Jasper gesturing to Angel for them to head for their bedrooms, his endearing nature continuing. Eva sincerely hoped his pleasantries would buy him a more favorable experience.

Eva stood up clumsily, tucking the blanket around her shoulders tighter, and walked back into the kitchen as the two exited. She could hear the hum of Angel’s verbal licking as the two proceeded to private room and she continued to feel unnerved as she claimed her dinner, a fork, and the remainder of the jug of orange juice from the fridge. She didn’t want to be out in the open. She felt exposed. So slowly she moved to the stairs and taking them slowly she managed to make her way back up stairs. In thought she verbalized her every motion to keep herself focused and her hearing focused on the mental sound of her voice and not the noises of anyone else.

When she got to her door she was thankful and when she closed it behind her she felt relieved. The sight of all of Derek’s gifts again was somewhat overwhelming and she set the juice and her dinner on her bed, taking the time to clear a spot on her nightstand and to set his most recent unopened gift aside. She moved around her room slowly still, turning on an old TV set on a nightstand on the opposite side of her bed and booting up an old DVD player. She pulled out a digital copy of one of her favorite black and white films – the 1964 version of My Fair Lady. Eva had always been a sucker for classic films but for some reason the story called to her. As she hit play she moved back to her bed, propping herself up against the wall with her dinner in her lap to eat and watch, keeping the volume loud enough to drown anything she didn’t want to hear without being so loud that Adonis could hear it word for word – something he had complained about on occasion. She had to wonder absently where everyone was as the opening credits rolled, and moreover what mood they were in.

The phone vibrated in Derek’s hand. Alessa watched as he read the message, and then abruptly closed the phone. The look of mild disgust on his face would have been amusing if not for the situation they were in.

β€œSometimes you worry me,” Derek said. At that, Alessa managed a half-smile. She worried herself, too. She oftentimes did things in the spur of the moment, without giving them a second thought or a thought at all. Derek, as if on cue, lapsed into a brief lecture about her feeding; don’t push off her feeding, do drink at least one blood bag a day. She felt like a child with her head hung low receiving a long talk about her responsibilities as a big girl. But, she was already a big girl – 1601 years old – and this wasn’t her first time hearing such a speech.

She did, though, giggle under her breath when her protector spoke of the horrid taste of the bagged blood. The longer away from a living human body, the worse blood tastes. The blood dies, until all of the life is gone. The sizzle in the taste vanishes, the electrifying feeling after feeding gone. Human blood is like a drug; once you have a little you can’t get enough. The taste is unlike any other in the world. You feel a buzz afterwards, as well. You step is lighter, and no one can rain on your parade. Alessa was marching in the eye of a hurricane. Her stomach was in her throat, and her head was just starting to lose the cloudiness it had.
She snapped out of her revere when Derek pulled her into a hug. The woman was just tall enough in her heals to be able to wrap her arms comfortably around his waist. β€œI’m serious, Ally. You’re killing yourself bit by bit doing things this way,” he whispered. She thought about what he said, nodding against his chest before he gave her a squeeze. He bent down, grabbing the momentarily forgotten man at her feet and heaving him over his shoulder.

β€œI’ll get this one outside and into the right position – cover up the bite marks and the stray blood.” He looked at her, and then gave her a shrug. He had given her the clean-up job. Killing humans wasn’t something she was unfamiliar with, but act itself never got easier. Someone had once told her that after the first death you caused, killing would get easier. She had imagined herself after many years becoming utterly expressionless, never blinking an eye after tearing out someone’s throat. On different occasions, killing was easy. At a time she was a lone wanderer, and sought out evildoers in the towns she visited, only killing those who were more of a danger to mankind than she was. Deaths never settled easy with Alessa, and this one was particularly nauseating.

β€œDon’t freak out.” Derek said before leaving, the limp figure in his arms thumping lightly against his back as Derek moved. The female stared at the back door briefly before sighing. She had a lot of work to do. The hall was drenched in red; the floor was a still river, the wall was a waterfall, and even the light overhead was dripping red rain. Shaking her head, Alessa began working.

The job didn’t take long. Cleaning supplies was in a nearby closet; mops, paper towels, etc. Her incredible vampire swiftness helped speed up the work, as well. Alessa smiled, remembering her workout this morning. She must’ve gotten a little faster, just a little. Being as small as she was, she was already faster than most, but Derek surpassed everyone in the house with his speed and strength. Alessa was hoping for the day when she could actually beat him in a race.

Her thought of racing kept her mind occupied while cleaning up the rest of the blood. After swiping away any trace of fingerprints, her, Derek, or β€œLuca” could have left behind, she exited the bar. She leaped onto a nearby trashcan, and caught hold of the edge of the roof before swinging herself on the top of the small bar. Again, she cursed her small stature she inherited from her mother. Getting on top of the building wouldn’t have been so hard if she wasn’t so darn short.

β€œWow,” she said quietly. β€œThanks for leaving me with cleaning duty. I sure made a heck of a mess in there.” She smiled slightly, gazing at the skyline. Alessa gave a low laugh. β€œβ€™Though she be but little, she is fierce!’” the vampire quoted, wondering if Derek recognized it.

Kristof smirked some more as Helena made her entrance, moving to stand next to his beloved redheaded queen. He looked to the human and canted his head to the side. "We are going to cure you of the disease that is called being a human." A soft 'what' was forming on the girl's lipstick, but he interrupted before she could finish. "My dear Empress and I are in need of a new... toy. You are so blessed to be that one."

He finished with a sick yet eerily charming smile that flashed his fangs. The human's eyes widened as she began to gush as he expected she would. "So you guys are like real vampires! I read all the Twilight Saga books and saw the movies! Most girls only dream about this! Your red eyes means you kill humans when you're done feeding, right? Oh shit! This is for real! Like really real life happening! And by toy you mean you're gonna fuck me, right? You're hot, she's hot. This is awesome! Fucking bad A!"

She was a whole nother person now, daydreaming about hot and passionate sex with vampires. She glanced over to Helena and blushed, a sudden feeling of inadequacy washing over her as she took a moment to actually get a good look at the woman. She had never seen something so beautiful. The girl that played Alice wasn't even that hot. Kristof let the girl talk and take in the information before finally nodding.

"Yes. As of now, your only purpose in life is to serve Helena and myself. Your current disease makes you too fragile." Kristof was gentler with females than he was with males, but that usually changed after getting to know him; He was a brute at heart. The girl had dropped the knife and was now inching towards the predators, completely enraptured by their spell if beauty and mystery. Kristof turned to Helena and did the same as the girl, marveling at her beauty. He pushed some of her hair to the side and bit deeply into her neck, his hand forcefully wrapped in her hair. He moved the girl closer and nodded to Helena's bleeding, ivory flesh.

The girl was tentative as she leaned up, urged by Kristof's free hand in her back before leaning up to the trickles of blood, licking them in a way that was arousing. By the time the girl really got into it, she was sucking on Helena's neck like there was no tomorrow. It was then that Kristof snapped her neck, catching her body before it hit the ground. "Let's hope this one survives." Again he smirked before dropping the girl and wrapping his arms around Helena, taking the sweet, sweet blood that was trickling down her naked form.

For the next ten minutes, he seemed to ignore the girl screaming and writing in pain underneath them, even kicking her off to the side at one point as he went for round four until they were both seemingly painted in blood. As the girl silenced to mere whimpers, he finally smirked and released Helena from the old oak that he had her pinned against. He turned to the blonde as she sat up with eyes filled with wonder, looking over at Helena and Kristof. "By the way...If you ever try to leave or tell anyone or if you get too messy with your hunting, we will kill you. Or if you just plain fuck with us on the wrong day."

He smiled that charming smile again and moved to her, reaching out a hand that she took with a nod. Kelsey was just happy that she had found away out of her abusive lifestyle while still being able to support her nympho needs. She was one of those girls that had read Twilight and dreamed ridiculous dreams all day every day that some glittery vampire was going to come and tell her that he was madly in love with her and that they'd both start some ridiculous charade that was supposed to be love. She smiled sheepisly before doubling over with a burning sensation. "This burning....It means I need blood...right? That I need to kill someone...?"

Lucan leaned his head back, running his fingers through his hair. Where was Rox?! Humans were good for some sex, but they just weren't sturdy enough for him to reach his peak. He frowned and threw himself onto his bed, closing his eyes. His mind wandered as he thought about the time when he was a Forbearer. If he had such a chance to 'rise'...He would. They weren't just his Coven; They were a family. Dysfunctional, but a family nonetheless. He would never be able to shake from his mind the look on Nicholas' face when he was thrown out by him.

That disappointing gaze haunted his dreams.

He rolled over as another equally hurt face entered his thoughts; Angiluzza. She had helped teach him everything he knew about surviving as a vampire. She wasn't chatty, but she played the most beautiful music he ever heard. She was the older sister he never had. He was a shameless man, but the guilt of disappointing them was one he couldn't shake. He sighed and opened his eyes before sitting up. Why was he even thinking about them right now? He should be thinking about destroying Rox as soon as she came home.

He licked his lips hungrily and made his way out of his room and...where was he going? His wolf pups followed behind him curiously as he simply wandered the house aimlessly with a blank mind.

Adonis watched as Jasper merely glared before walking away. He never did really like the guy anyways. He was stupid, that's why. Eva was stupid, too. He was the only smart human here. He was the only one who took the entire situation as seriously as it needed to be – He knew that he could die any day either by the hand of the Coven members or the hands of others. He didn't fantasize that he was completely safe with them – Except for Alessa. He knew he'd be safe around her, always. Even though he was a total dick and often teased everyone...minus Derek and Angiluzza. The boy shrugged and simply made his way back to his room, not bothering to stop and ask Angel if she wanted a bite; She found his blood type revolting. Which he was kind of glad for. No, he simply went back to his attic room and locked it up for the night.

Angiluzza had stopped pounding the the piano keys shortly after. Her instincts were going off wildly, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. She eased up from her seat and slid quietly out of her room and down the hall. She could hear...Adonis cursing himself upstairs...Jasper mumbling about what he had gotten himself into...Eva's movie; My Fair Lady was a good choice but Eliza's damn voice was so annoying. But...There was something else. Running. It wasn't Derek and Alessa...They took the car. Annie and Isaac were talking about dinner...in the house.

Angiluzza's fangs immediately slid out with an audible click as she pulled her lips over her teeth and hissed. Who the fuck was coming, then? And with Alessa and Derek both gone...Angiluzza wasn't very happy about it. β€œAnnie...Isaac...Come here, now.” She spoke evenly, though not shouting. She knew they'd hear anyways. As she reached the front door, they were by her side in an instant. β€œWhat's wrong, Nina?” Annie tilted her head quizzically, as did Isaac until they heard what Angel had heard. They both bared their fangs in response as the running became walking...up the stairs...to the door.

And then the doorbell rang.

They were knocked back by the strong scent of fresh blood, almost overwhelming them. And another scent. Six, to be exact. Three of them were highly familiar. β€œKnockity knockity.” came a condescending voice that was the deep baritone of Paul Johnson. A woman's giggle followed; Morganna del Rio. Silence was heard on Gaspard's end while three more female giggles were heard. Angiluzza opened up the door with a yank, hissing lowly. Paul laughed with a sneer and attempted to push past the three at the door. β€œNow, now. Is that any way to treat old friends?” He gave a tut tut as Annie stepped forward. β€œOld friends my ass.” She hissed at him. Angel held her back with a single hand, her face placid.

β€œWhat do you want? Derek and I have already said no. And the answer is still the same.”

A few centuries ago, Paul and his troupe had come knocking on the Coven's door, offering Derek and Angiluzza a place in their Coven. But, they were Fallen and of course the pair was far from interested, engaging battle with them – But the slippery fucks had used pawns to make their escape. Angel couldn't stand them. Isaac was staring hard at them, his face contorted into a look of pure hatred.

β€œWell, we don't take kindly to rejections. Surely you didn't think we were just going to let you go, eh? Plus you did kill off Renata, Kiko, and Leann. I really did like those three.” Paul faux-pouted before snickering. Angiluzza didn't give them a chance to strike first, her fist flying out and meeting Paul's jaw, sending him half way across the yard. Her hit was immediately responded to by Morganna and Gaspard tackling her into the house while Annie and Isaac engaged the three 'groupies' at the front door still. Angiluzza didn't like being pinned down, flashbacks hitting her one after one as she clawed, kicked, and bit the two on top of her.

She didn't take long to get a grip, grabbing them both by the neck and tossing them away from her as though they were rag dolls. Well, there went the kitchen. Isaac had just been put through the living room wall, smashing into the television. The groupies had just stopped when they noticed the sound coming from Eva's room and the screaming coming from Adonis' attic and ditched their fight immediately, heading towards the stairs. Angiluzza might have paused to go and stop them...

Might have.

But she had her own to handle. She could hear Adonis on the phone in the attic, frantically screaming for Derek and Alessa to hurry. No doubt that it was Alessa he had called; He was too scared to ask for Angel's or Derek's. Angel was blindsided by Gaspard who punched her in the back of the head, Morganna following suit by delivering a kick to Angel's chest, sending her into a wall. Paul was about to join the fight...Until he caught sight of a scared shitless Jasper. Angel didn't have time to move for him in defense because Gaspard and Morganna were now trying to tear her in half. Angel wanted to scream out as the human that she had thought about killing earlier was killed right before her eyes.

Isaac and Annabelle had grabbed the two women heading up the stairs by the backs of their necks and yanked them down, throwing them into a wall behind them. The pair were quick to dodge the bits of rubble thrown at them, moving ever closer with each dodge until they were within five feet. They jumped onto the two girls and hacked away at their necks with their fangs, clinging to the young vampires with every bit of strength that they had. They could not let these two upstairs because Eva would be the first to go. And then they would bust down Adonis' attic door. They had already lost Jasper - They couldn't lose their other two! It didn't take too long from the gnashing teeth and tugging hands for their heads to detach from the women's bodies. Feeling victorious and strong, they headed to take on Paul now.

Angel roared in pain as she pulled her arms together, causing her two targets to slam into each other. She saw red now, everything moving being a target. She bit deeply into Morganna's neck, ripping off her flesh and clawing her. Formal training went out the window as primal survival instincts took over. She was literally growling as she fought, intent on ripping them limb from limb. She could hear Paul's taunts as he took on Annie and Isaac in the background, seeming to be enraged underneath by the fact that his groupies were killed off so easily. Paul glanced over at Annie, dodging an incoming punch with ease, grabbing her arm and offering another 'tut tut tut' as he slammed her into poor Isaac.

Angiluzza heard a rip as Gaspard's head came off, watching as Morganna broke down into tears. Using the redhead's moment of weakness, Angel leapt onto her and twisted her head clean around and pulled until it came off. The sound of her head coming off was followed suit immediately by two more of the kind...What was that? She looked over to see Annabelle and Jasper without heads and a whole new kind of rage filled her body. She ran to Paul and leapt up, landing on his shoulders, wrapping her legs around his neck tightly and beginning to pull up from his jaw and the back of his head. She felt his hands grab her waist as he slammed her down, putting a hole in the floor. She wondered where Eva was. Was she still in her room? And Adonis...? Wait - She could hear Adonis still screaming into the phone. She focused solely on her fight now - she refused to let go until Paul's head came off. She was slammed repeatedly into the floor and into the wall as her nails dug into his flesh, one of them breaking off; acrylic.

Finally, she heard the sound that she wanted to hear and she fell off of him as he fell down, his head in her hands. Angiluzza was lying on top of Annabelle and Isaac, soaking in their blood as she entered a daze. They were gone. Both of them. She didn't give a shit about Jasper's death - He was getting on her last nerve, anyways. But her sister and little brother died...It was six against three and only one survived...

You know...Nicholas and Alessa will blame you for these deaths. You were the eldest here. Two food sources gone, an Enforcer, and the only Procurer. That leaves us down to three Vampires and only two humans.

We were outnumbered! Isaac was so young! Gaspard and Morganna and Paul were all just barely younger than me.

Aww. Too hard? You sound like a whiny little brat trying to make excuses. There is no excuse and everyone knows it. This. Is. All. Your. Fault.

We'll be fine with just Adonis and Eva and we can always get replacements!

You'll be fine with just Eva and Adonis...? Is that so? You realize that nobody but Nicholas feeds from Eva? Alessa fears to feed from Adonis. And you find both of their blood types absolutely revolting. The only human here with a use is Eva and the only person benefiting from her use is Nicholas. You and Alessa are shit out of luck because Adonis is pretty much useless. But you're fine right...? You fucked up, Angiluzza. You fucked up.

Angiluzza curled up in the pool of blood, seeming to nestle against the bodies as she sobbed. She could hear Adonis still frantically screaming into the phone. "Alessa! Apresse casa! NΓ£o estΓ‘ lutando! Eu nΓ£o sei quem estΓ‘ aqui, mas Jasper estava gritando e Angel Γ© louca e eu nΓ£o sei onde Γ© Eva e Annabelle e Isaac nΓ£o posso ouvi-los! Depressa, por favor! Eu nΓ£o posso ouvir mais nada!"

Helena the Bloody

Helena tilted her head rather slowly as she listened, her face expressionless for once safe for the slightly widened, blood-red eyes she sported at all times. She could feel him at her side, could sense the second he let his fangs slide out. She knew the sound so very well. After all, she had heard it countless times, both as he bit into her, but also when he bit into others. It was a sound which never failed to make her reach out, a hand landing on his upper arm, just to feel him physically since she could not see him. The contact was enough of a substitute.

Then, however, the human spoke and Helena’s own fangs slid forth in irritation as a soft growl escaped her, one which could only be heard by Kristof as the female vampire took a few steps away, closing her red eyes to focus her energy. Fortunately Kristof was there. If he hadn’t been, this would be around the time Helena tore out the irritating human’s throat. The mere sound of her voice now irked the redhead. While it was slightly amusing, Helena much preferred the fear. It was not supposed to disappear this easily!

Helena could feel the human’s eyes on her, but she did not move. Instead the coven leader remained perfectly still, her hands at her sides, eyes closed as she listened, her posture relaxed but alert. Then Kristof spoke again and Helena noted the moment the girl let her silly little metal thing fall to the forest floor. But still she did not react. She stood quiet, still as a statue even as she sensed both of them turning to move towards her, Kristof of course reaching her first. She already knew what came next. Kristof had told her once that he did not wish to sire vampires, so of course he would use her blood to change the human girl. Helena forced back her irritation, part of her grounded enough to know that Kristof wanted this one.

Besides, Helena felt fairly certain she would not find another human like… like Kaleigh. Oh, Kaleigh! Her poor little pet was still chained to the table, wasn’t she? The thought made a sadistic grin curve her full, red lips as Kristof brushed her hair to the side, her neck now presented to him without a second obstacle. She felt his hand in her hair and she let him tilt her head back, the grin still remaining as she moaned lowly with his bite. The hand remained, keeping her head in place as he moved back, and soon Helena felt a stranger’s tongue licking her pale, smooth skin. She remained in place, knowing very well that the dominance as well as the display turned Kristof on.

The girl’s tongue and lips barely caused any reaction from Helena. Kristof’s hand in her hair, however, had her humming with contentment, her lids still covering the red of her eyes. Next Helena heard Kristof move and then a crack as he snapped the head of the human while she was distracted. From the puncture wounds Kristof had made on her neck, blood trickled down slowly, undisturbed. As he spoke, Helena hummed softly, adding drily β€œLet’s hope she comes back less irritating.” With that, Kristof’s teeth were back inside her neck, and she moaned, her hands finally moving to clasp him to her, keeping her body meshed with his.

Everything else escaped her mind when Kristof pinned her against another tree and let her soar once more. She did however notice when he merely kicked the human out of the way and the cruel disregarded forced a giggle from her, even as a moan attempted to escape at the same time. All too soon the pleasure ended, however, and just as the human stopped screaming, Kristof pulled away. Helena easily moved onto her feet once more. She was swimming in the bliss of her orgasm – in the tranquil clarity, but still she let the red of her eyes land on Kristof as he spoke. His words made her giggle.

She put a hand up as though in class before she spoke up. β€œWe might also just do it for fun,” she added, not caring that the girl might end up scared. Which she didn’t. What was wrong with her? The irritation was back, doubling only when Kristof moved to help her up. She growled deep in her throat, eyes narrowing slightly, but the girl’s words made Helena’s mind go in a whole other direction. Kaleeeiiigh! Helena grinned suddenly. β€œOh, I know!” She spoke, knowing Kristof would understand that it meant she had a solution to that particular problem. β€œLet’s go make little Dee Dee very sad,” she chirped, already speeding off to the basement. She was there in no time, bursting through the door very abruptly.

It smelled like… tears. And blood. But they were both still in their places. Keeping Kaleigh alive anymore was only going to make Dmitri think he’d won something, and it was going to make him want to escape more… for her, no matter how futile. Now, she could kill Dmitri, but really… what was the fun in that? He’d only be freed from his misery, and she’d never have truly broken him. This… however, just might do the trick. A gleeful grin spread on her face she turned to Dmitri. β€œHave you ever wondered,” she began as she waited for the others to join her, approaching him slowly, β€œwhat it would feel like to have the one thing you love… die in front of you?” Her grin widened, completely ignoring the now frantic sobbing from Kaleigh.

Derek Fleitner

Derek couldn’t help chuckling when Alessa fought to get onto the roof of the building. She looked clumsy for a vampire, really, but then, Alessa had never really achieved the grace he had. It was odd really, since she was the same age, but nope… she’d always been different like that. Or maybe he was different. But nah, it was probably just Alessa. Even Angel was more graceful than their beloved coven leader. Alessa’s strengths were not physical in any way. No, her strength was in her inspiration. As a leader, Alessa left most of what would normally befall her, to him. Not because she was lazy, but because she wanted the best possible to take care of important jobs.

So he was charged with them, and really, Alessa was a genius when it came to figuring out another’s strengths. She had everyone do what they did best and perhaps that was why, in spite of her lack of… well, control, everyone in the coven accepted her. She did not lead because she was the best – she led because she did so without dominance. Honestly Derek wouldn’t do too well under the hand of someone who tried to domineer him every step of the way. He’d been there, he’d done that, and he’d gone his own ways regardless. Luckily so, because if he hadn’t he would’ve been quite fallen by now. She’d certainly done her best to convince him, his maker.

When she settled next to him, he glanced at her quietly before his eyes landed on the dead human in the alley. Then she spoke, and he smiled wryly. β€œYou did indeed,” he agreed lowly, still not looking at her. He was eager for this hunt to end. Not because he wanted away from Alessa, but because he simply got restless when the two of them were away from the house for long simultaneously, leaving vampires half their age to defend if something was to happen. He let a sigh pass his lips. He was patient, but the world around him waited for no one, and if something happened while the two leaders were away, it would be on Derek’s shoulders. He was the protector.

Her quote made him quirk an eyebrow, gaze searching the streets beneath them. β€œA Midsummer Night’s Dream, if I recall correctly. Act 3, scene 2.” He glanced at her with a playful smirk at that. β€œIf you’re going to quote Shakespeare, at least make it challenging,” he told her teasingly. He didn’t really care to battle her on it, but back in the days of Shakespeare himself, much of Derek’s circle had been rather wealthy, and quite prone to the works of the man. In simple turns, he had watched many a play. He had even had a few interesting conversations with the man and Alessa had chosen one of the most well-known quotes from one of the most well-known plays.

The sound of Alessa’s phone ringing then, caused Derek to frown lightly, wondering who would be calling her now. The others usually didn’t call either of them when they were out hunting. When his pseudo sister picked up, Derek watched her carefully, considering every intake of breath, and every frantic word on the other end. It was Adonis, and of course he was speaking Portuguese, one of the few languages Derek hadn’t bothered learning. He did know Spanish, though, along with Italian and French, and so most of it made some kind of sense. Someone was there and he needed them to hurry home.

Derek stood immediately, jumping off the roof to hit the ground on all fours. Then he immediately straightened, looking up at Alessa. β€œI don’t know exactly what he said, but I know we need to hurry, so come on. We’ll leave the human and skip town. Our DNA isn’t in any database, so we should be fine.” He looked back at forth, his body brimming with what to humans would work much like adrenaline. In vampires it was the instinct… to kill, to protect. If anything had happened to his coven – anyone in his coven, Derek was sure to seek revenge. He was impatient now more than ever and he needed Alessa to get the hell down. When she finally did, he hurried to the car and slid into the driver’s side. This may be her car, but they needed to hurry, so he was driving.

Fortunately it didn’t take them long to reach the house, but they did, the air was permeated with the scent of blood and Derek stepped forward slowly. No strangers were alive present at current – he could tell as much, so that meant he could do nothing, but three scents were much too familiar. He sped up, bursting through the door only to freeze briefly at the sight, his eyes scanning the scene.

Angel was huddled in a pool of blood, hulking and sobbing uncontrollably. The room was littered with dead bodies, three of which belonged to members of his coven. Annabelle, Jasper, Isaac… Derek stood there for a moment, staring at the bloodshed. He didn’t doubt who had done this; the perpetrators were dead at his feet as well. β€œAngel,” he breathed suddenly as he came back to himself, and he hurried forward, not caring that he soaked himself in blood as he sank to his knees next to her. She was the only one he could help right now. The others were… beyond him, and so he chose to focus his energy on her. Alessa could deal with their remaining humans; a vampire who was completely out of it was a danger to everyone, and so he simply needed to prioritize.

Derek moved a hand to Angel’s cheek, wiping tears from it as he watched her. Then suddenly he leaned forward and pulled her into his embrace, holding her like a little girl as he more or less cradled her in his arms. He’d not seen her like this in centuries, and it still did not sit right with him in any way. It just… felt wrong. β€œShh,” he added softly as he held her, trying to make her calm down.

Angiluzza

Angiluzza was damn near completely unaware of her current surroundings. Everywhere that she looked, all she saw was the deaths of Jasper and her 'siblings' on repeat. She just couldn't get it out of her mind...She could feel her body back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. She soon felt arms around her and began to struggle against the arms, feeling immediately threatened again as she cried out. β€œNo! Get off of me!” Her cry became more of a roar until she felt Derek's fingers wiping the tears from her face, smearing some of the blood. But the blood smearing didn't matter to her because Derek was holding her. She practically crumbled in his arms, leaning into him as he lulled her with a soft 'shh'. β€œI'm so sorry,” she whispered softly, closing her eyes shut and cringing against him.

β€œI tried to protect them! I did...But it-” She choked up and broke down into more sobs as her body went limp. How could they have fended them off on their own? They hadn't gotten to their 'breakfast' yet and it was...unexpected. No! There was no excuse at all! Derek had trained her and she had trained as formally as it got with her Senseis for over three decades! How in the hell could she have been so defenseless against them?! She berated herself mentally over and over again. She would have been slamming her head into a wall except she was limp, tired, and there weren't that many walls nearby suitable for that sort of beating.

Instead, she looked up weakly, sniffling. β€œIts...my fault. And I'm so sorry. Please don't make me go...Don't let me go.” Her voice was as soft of a whisper as it could possibly be. She lowered her head back down, resting it against his chest as she fought back the hysteric fit threatening to overwhelm her. She was reflexively breathing as though hyperventilating, finding the feeling of not being really out of breath so strange and frightening; it had been a while since she breathed. She imagined that was what it felt like to drown, driving her further down the road to hysterics. Her body went from limp to rigid as though she were physically bracing herself for hysteria to slam into her.

Kristof

Kristof chuckled as Helena remarked that they just might kill the girl off simply because they felt like it. He almost sneered as the girl cowered as soon as his beloved left. β€œCome on.” Kristof didn't trust the girl as far as he could thro- Well. Considering his strength, that particular phrase was somewhat useless. The point is that he didn't trust the girl enough to let her run off on her own nor to follow him. He motioned for her to come with him, though on a second thought he grabbed her wrist. As they ran, he did his best to move at the pace that was her peak so he didn't just end up dragging her along like dead weight.

He knew exactly what Helena had in her twisted little mind, which did make his lips curl into a devious smirk. To break Dmitri...Now that was something that he would like to see. It had been ten years – Ten years was longer than any human had ever survived with them. At least as far as the slaves went. He couldn't deny that the human intrigued him. But not enough to really care for him; The only person that he cared about was Helena. Though he was positive that little Kelsey was already scheming on how to seduce her way into the black hole that his heart used to exist within.

As she grunted for him to wait, he ignored the request as they had only just come up to the house. He released her hand but kept going, causing her to stumble and fall; how ungraceful. He sighed and breezed on in, finding Lucan pacing and Scarlet cleaning. He smirked β€œYou missed a spot.” His fist went through the nearest wall. β€œClean it up.” He spit on the floor nearby before heading down into the basement, Kelsey in tow right behind him, her eyes looking about in wonder. β€œWhat happened here?” Her mouth hung open and her eyes got wide. β€œGreat sex.” Kristof chuckled, a chill going down his spine as he remembered just how much he had enjoyed it.

He was at Helena's side soon enough, wrapping his arms about her waist and pressing his face into her hair, inhaling slowly. β€œYou're such a bitch sometimes,” He whispered softly, moving his face down to her neck, kissing her ivory flesh softly. β€œbut its so God damned sexy.” He bared his fangs, though he didn't bite her as he looked over at poor little Kaleigh. β€œWell. Aren't you just a broken little bluebird?” Kaleigh cried out, pleading to be let go. But Kristof knew it wasn't going to work. It seemed as though Helena's need to break Dmitri was now priority over Kaleigh's wellbeing. Poor little thing – Kristof can't say he cared too much about her. She had no spirit. No fight in her. She was boring.

Dmitri

Dmitri had spent as much time as his voice would allow whispering to Kaleigh, trying to cheer her up in such a dismal situation. He told her about the time he accidentally glued his dad's hand to the doghouse and the time he replaced his cousin's refried beans with cat food. The soft smiles and light giggles warmed his heart – Did he truly love this girl that was nearly eight years his senior? Of course he did! How could he even question it? How could he not? She was so...Kaleigh. A sweet, innocent thing. And she loved him. One could not express in words how it made his heart soar to know it,

It had been silent for a while and he could hear pacing upstairs along with the sweeping of broken glass; Lucan and Scarlet? Probably. He sighed and slumped a little more until the sound of Helena's voice caused him to stir. His immediate reaction was to spit at her feet, but he caught himself before doing so, remembering that Kaleigh was at stake for his actions. He ground his teeth and looked away from her. That is, until Helena spoke a phrase that he had only heard in his frequent nightmares. She was soon joined by Kristof and a blonde...Great. A new vampire.

β€œOhhh. He's cute! Can I have him?” She eyed him like the food that he was, inching closer. Dmitri kept quiet, his head held high and proud. He knew that he wasn't today's lunch...It was Kaleigh. The drastic measure he never thought Helena would take. How could she be so cruel?! It was true – She really had no heart. And Kristof wasn't any better. He looked over at the crying Kaleigh and his lips quivered as he fought another stream of tears. β€œYou've already done that. Remember?” He hissed at her, remembering the day that he walked in ten years ago to see his then-future husband taking his last breath in Helena's arms.

Lucan

Lucan glanced as Helena breezed in followed by Kristof and a new girl. Oh joy – A newborn. From the generation of the whores. He sighed but said nothing, for it wasn't his place. Typically, at least in the Forebearers' Coven, before a human was turned and joined the Coven, the whole Coven must agree first upon it. But Helena and Kristof generally just didn't give a fuck what the others wanted within the Coven or who they wanted. They did whatever pleased them. But he didn't mind so long as he had company and a home. And Rox...

Eva had dozed off. Sitting still in her bed, her empty plate in her lap, the brunette had finally given into the tired weight of her body. Normally she was a light sleeper, so the knocks on the doors and noises from downstairs didn’t rouse her. She was captivated instead by a dream of Derek (but really, when wasn’t she dreaming about him?)

She was in her room, but not the current one she had made for herself in their house. No, she was in her home in Easton, the big house the one she had so desperately wanted to escape to New York from. The walls were painted a pale yellow, the color her mother had chose for her nursery when she hadn’t known the gender of her only child. It had never been a color Eva had admired and as she’d grown more drawn into fashion and theater and the stories of New York and Paris and London and Milan, her walls had gradually become plastered with posters and sketches and drawings. All of it remained. In the corner were a pair of dress forms and beside them a desk littered with fabric scraps and sewing paraphernalia. Tacked up along a bay window were fairy lights, which were turned on as the rest of the lights were shut off. A hundred candles were also lit and scattered across the room, all adding to the ambience, taking away from the cluttered walls.

Laid across her double bed was Eva herself, as she was currently, twenty one years old, her hair long, dark and curly. She was dressed in a black lace corset and stockings, kitten heels on her feet as she displayed herself for the man who stood in the center of the room. Derek smiled at her, unbuttoning a fitted white collar shirt that he wore. He strode across the room, eyes glued to her. As he approached the bed Eva rolled onto her back, pressing her hands to his shoulders without the hesitation she felt every day around him. No, she wanted him. She couldn’t deny how much she wanted to give herself over to him. Instead, however, he sat down on the edge of her bed instead of crawling over her. Derek sighed, stopping with undoing the buttons of his shirt. Immediately Eva sat up, drawing her hands over his left shoulder and under his right to clasp across his chest. She rested her chin on his shoulder. β€œPlease,” she begged. He leaned his head into hers and she saw him smile. It was always a game. Suddenly he was whirling her back onto the bed, shifting with vampire speed to pin her hands and press her back into the numerous pillows. He hovered over top of her, his eyes taking in her frame. He leaned in, the tension building. Eva’s eyes fluttered and she closed them, inhaling deeply, wanting him to kiss her.

A loud crash forced her to open her eyes. Eva took in the surroundings of the house and the screams from downstairs, her plate sliding off her thighs and onto her bed. Her heart was immediately racing in her chest as she stumbled, her weak legs buckling as she moved to her bedroom door. She landed in a heap by it instead, pressing her face up to it to listen. She swallowed, hearing noises she didn’t think possible. Screeches, animalistic cries and shrieks. It didn’t last long as suddenly it was ended by the most wretched tearing noises and cries. Her heart lept into her throat then, as silence fell. Eva opened the door to her room and stood on the landing then, looking down wearily, so confused, so dazed. She could see Adonis, a phone in his hands, his voice frantic but his words beyond her. Instead she heard the most frantic and hysterical of cries coming from Angel.

"Alessa! Apresse casa! NΓ£o estΓ‘ lutando! Eu nΓ£o sei quem estΓ‘ aqui, mas Jasper estava gritando e Angel Γ© louca e eu nΓ£o sei onde Γ© Eva e Annabelle e Isaac nΓ£o posso ouvi-los! Depressa, por favor! Eu nΓ£o posso ouvir mais nada!
" It went on and on, building, the weeping growing. Eva’s eyes widened as she moved down the steps one at a time. As she turned the corner she was met with a blood bath that took the breath right out of her. She fell, her feet losing their grip. She bounced down three steps before her hands flew out to grip herself on the banister and wall. Her fingers slid through a spray of someone’s blood and she gaped, so stunned that for several minutes she didn’t know what to think. Angel’s hysterics were the only noise in the dead silent room that she could hear. Eva felt herself begin to hyperventilate as she took in the Italian vampire on her hands in knees, surrounded by the heads of strangers. β€œOh..oh,” Eva gasped, her face knitting into uncontrolled sadness as she suddenly became aware that three of the bodies were not strangers as well. Isaac. Jasper. Oh dear Jasper. And Annabelle, blessed woman. They were all torn to shreds with the strangers, their heads and limbs so strewn about like someone had thought it a funny game. Fear caught her chest tightly but for some reason she was too stunned to cry.

The main door to the house flew open suddenly and Derek stepped in, his eyes going immediately to Angulizza. Eva leaned back into the stairs, her lips trembling as she saw Alessa behind him. Derek didn’t hesitate, he went straight to his hysterical companion on the floor, fighting her as she wept and pushed him away.

β€œAngel,” he whispered, sinking to his knees to bring her into his lap. β€œNo! Get off of me!” she yelled. Eva watched the exchange continue, how Derek suddenly moved to caress the Italian’s cheek. Her cheek. Not Eva’s. No. He was coddling the threatening bitch who had an hour before wanted Jasper’s head for disobedience. Well she had it now didn’t she? Her friend was in the pile of bodies. Isaac too, the very man to whom she had grown close to. And Anna, the wise voice of them all. Eva felt her eyes burn then, not with sadness but hurt unaltered jealousy and fear.

β€œShh,” he cooed. Eva gasped like she had been stabbed. How many times had he done that to her after feeding on her? It was no longer some special thing. She had convinced herself that he only treated her the way he did but it was so clear then that that wasn't the case. β€œI'm so sorry,” Angel apologized. β€œI tried to protect them! I did...But it-”

Eva’s eyes knitted, her lips twitching as she sucked in air so rapidly. Protect them? She had actively participated in all of it! For all Eva knew she had shredded their coven members in her β€˜defensive’ rage.

β€œIts...my fault. And I'm so sorry. Please don't make me go...Don't let me go,” she sniffed. Eva forced herself to get up then, her knees shaking as she suddenly forced herself down the stairs. She couldn’t see this. She didn’t want to see this. Derek was with her. It was so clear now. The dreams, everything had made it seem so real. She loved him, so loved him so much but months of this, months of merely being fed on and pleasing him, that’s all it was. This display, this coddling and whispering and consolation was so much a display of affection to Angel. It was so much more than she had gotten in months. What did that say about how he felt about her? She knew she had to leave. She had to get out of this horrific house, away from them all.

She threw herself through the open door and started to run.

Alessa laughed at Derek’s response. It was a greatly well-known quote. Perhaps she would have to do some more reading; make the quotes more challenging to guess. Then again, Derek most likely read any book she could pick up, as he wasn’t much younger than she.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, and she quickly pulled it out. Who would call them while out hunting? If anyone needed anything, they knew where it was. They knew that they shouldn’t be contacting others while out hunting; unless something was wrong. Looking at the phone, she saw who called. Adonis. She pressed the phone up to her ear, listening to the human speak in frantic Portuguese. He shouted over the ruckus. Why was there ruckus? Alessa asked the question, speaking very fast. Maybe too fast. She took a deep breath and spoke slower, slow enough thcat Adonis could understand. Derek, she knew, didn’t know perfect Portuguese, but knew enough to understand that they had to go. Now.

He leapt off the roof, waiting for Alessa. She jumped, barely hearing him talk about leaving the human. What human? Nothing else mattered besides her family at home. The two were in the car and driving home in no time, the speed of the Lamborghini coming in handy. She begged, demanded Adonis to stay on the phone, not wanting to be cut off from the only connection she had. She asked about Eva; where was she? The vampires could handle themselves, but the humans were virtually defenseless.

A miles from the house, Alessa heard growls. Being 1601 years old, her hearing was extremely acute. The closer they got, the quieter things became, and the more anxious and terrified Alessa became. Derek paid no mind to reassigns, driving as fast as the car could go, seeming a blur to passing pedestrians and other vehicles.
T
hey came to a halt in front of the house, and neither of them though to be rational. Alessa ripped through her seatbelt, nearly unhinging the door from the rest of the car. The door was gone. More terror. Inside, Alessa gasped at the sight of blood. The new home was drenched in red, covered in bodies. Oh, no. Who was missing?! Adonis was in his room; she memorized his breathing pattern along with Eva’s, who was nearby. Derek immediately consoled a mourning and frantic Angiluzza on the ground, and, looking closer, the remains of the rest of the coven and blood pet was on the ground. If she hadn’t fed, Alessa would be frantic, but, if she hadn’t left to feed, this wouldn’t have happened.

Suddenly, Eva burst from the room. Adonis was alive, Angiluzza was in Derek’s hands. Eva needed help. She sprinted to catch up to her, standing in her path to catch her and embrace her in a hug. She held her tight, murmuring how everything was alright. But was it really? Sitting on a rock, Alessa sat Eva next to her, telling the human to talk. Alessa would talk next.

He loathed her for watching over him like a hawk. Roxanne had always been amused to meddle. Oliver truly did not need her there in front of him, teasing him as he dug a hole three feet into the ground to bury the blonde’s head. Someone’s daughter, Likely a sister. He pushed her bloody hair to reveal an infinity tattoo behind her ear. For a moment he frowned, staring at it, feeling the guilt wash over him in a second wave. How could he do this to people? And so many of them through time. His hands trembled but he knew he was being watched, that Roxanne would report every detail to Helena. So he didn’t wallow like he normally did when he was lucid and burying his prey. His hands trembled and he shoved them inwards. The girl’s head collapsed inward violently. He dropped the remnants into the dirt, blood and brain dripping from his hands. He flicked his fingers and slashed his arm through the air to get rid of what remained on him. Oliver watched the girl’s guts spray the dirt, the grass and leaves shifting grossly. He tsked, disgusted. His nostrils flared as he stepped over toward the mountain of earth he had dug up. Flinging it back into the whole, he finished the last of the burial, shifting plants and shrubs back into place like an expert landscaper, not leaving a twig out of place. He didn’t care for Roxanne as he walked away, his misery heavy on his shoulders.

The city was lively when Oliver returned to it. He kept to the shadows and the alleyways, listening to people walk through the run down region. The moon was dark and the night hung heavy on the sleepy down. Hurling himself up a fire escape, he stood at the top of a short apartment building, surveying all he could see, trying to cope as his mind spun with renewed hunger. Slowly, Oliver brought his left hand up to his nose. He dragged his palm across his chin, drawing his tongue across his skin to take in the last bit of the girl’s blood where it stained his fingers. He breathed through the taste, letting his eyes rolls back and his throat grow fiery. He was never sated. He could never drown in blood. He felt the vampiric side of him fight for control. There were hundreds of potential victims nearby. A gaggle of girls hiccupped and stumbled towards a warehouse rave below him, all dressed in nearly non-existent dresses and heels, purses bouncing on their hips and arms. Their shrieks and giggles pained him. His left foot lurched forward, and suddenly he was standing at the edge of the roof, watching, practically salivating.

Oliver grunted, bringing his hands to his temples, snarling as he forced himself away. Addicted. That’s what he was. He was hung up on blood worse than a heroine addict wanted his fix. But it was more than that. It was the power he could exert and the manipulation of the victim. He fed on more than their blood. The fear, the raw panic in their eyes as he sliced away their skin, as they saw their blood exposed, it was sacred to him. He lived and breathed for it more than a sociopath. At least the vampiric side of him did anyways. Right then, in his lucid state, Oliver knew that something was wrong with him, that this nature of his had been fostered, that Helena never wanted him to be able to control himself. He stumbled to fall on his knees on the rooftop, his head between his hands just like the girls had been. Maybe he could end it. Neither of them were there to stop him this time. He could just crush his skull and wallow in it. But he knew better. That was no way to end it, he’d have to decapitate himself. Oliver’s hands went to his throat and then shifted away in a split second to his lap. He looked up at the black sky then, tilting his head back, his mouth open, the dried blood on his lips cracking with the effort. For a long while he was motionless, just staring, falling into the darkness of the night, wanting it to consume him, to take him away. And yet not. Why?

Scarlett.

That poor girl was still in their keep, the one who enjoyed being with them all for some reason. Or not. He had never understood why she had come to belong to their coven, nor even how she had survived for so long. It had been years since he had been on a binge. His earlier epiphany remained: he hadn’t slaughtered recklessly since she had been with them. A degree of restraint had always stopped him from wiping out a room full of people in the past decade. Was that of his own doing or was that her? Or was it this lucidity that seemed to linger more than it ever had before?

Swallowing past the contemplation, Oliver shifted, the silence of the streets wafting up to his ears. He was so thankful for it. Rising to stand, the nearly century old vampire assessed himself. The girls were present on him again, their remains and dead blood spattering his fresh clothes. At least he didn’t like the blood bath he had hours before. He knew they were all waiting, that Roxanne was likely back already or wherever she had gone after he’d left her. Perhaps she had known better to leave him alone and the moments of clarity were his to cherish. He didn’t know how long they would last. They never did.

With a running start Oliver launched himself onto the next rooftop with ease. Jumping from building to building until he hit the forested area that surrounded their present quarters was relieving. His thoughts went to his actions. He was a few miles from the house when the heavy scent of fresh blood struck him hard. As he walked back to the run down house he could feel the presence of a stranger before he walked through the door. A newborn. As he stepped inside he heard the giggles below. Helena had had some fun, and Krystof was back. As the two of them took to their playing he swept himself upstairs, using his speed to avoid the smell of humans below. He stood at the landing for a moment, looking into the living space where their beat up piano sat. Scarlett had been there when he left. Where she was now he didn’t know, likely keeping out of sight and mind given the mood of their coven leaders. He walked over to it, sweeping his hand over the worn finish, removing a coat of dust nearly half an inch thick. He was grateful that the thing had conveniently been there when they’d arrived.

He didn’t know why but he wanted to play. It had to have been the first time in five hundred years he was doing this. The sounds had always reminded him of his youngest sister. But it was suddenly soothing to him, so he pulled up the cover to the keys and ran his fingers over the smooth ivory keys before pressing a few. Oliver let the sound resonate through him before he began to play something he had heard on the radio recent, the modern reflective tones causing him to close his eyes, tilting his head to the left while he soaked it in, focusing on it over the screams of frustrated humans in the basement below.

The blood. It was everywhere. On her hands. Soaking through her jeans. Clinging to her back, causing her shirt to stick to her. It was on her neck, her feet. She wanted to escape it, to get away from them. Was else was there for her to do but run? She needed to breath, she needed it to stop. She needed her mother, her friends, and a life that didn’t revolve around giving herself to a man she loved so much it hurt. She did. She loved him so much that it was physically painful. Eva felt her heart beat painfully in her chest, skipping a beat when she was halfway through the yard, her bare feet hitting the grass with an expert runner’s pace. It was no match for them though. They had all seen her flee, Derek with Angel in his arms, Alessa who stood by watching. She wanted him to be there. Was he running? She heard the familiar crack in the air of a vampire’s run which caused her to close her eyes and try to sprint, the tears breaking the barrier and involuntarily running down her cheeks. What about Jasper? He was dead? What did that mean for them? She needed him! He was so much kinder, sweet, and caring than Adonis. And he had been so in love with his late wife. What about their murderer? Who would search for them now?

Eva shrieked when she was stopped, her legs suddenly removed from the ground as strong arms wrapped around her. Her eyes opened wide and she found herself in Alessa’s arms. Not Derek’s. So he really didn’t care enough to run after her now too? She wrestled with the coven leader. Eva didn’t want to be around this woman who had promised her this life was so much more than what it had been shown to be. Isaac had promised her the world and back. His head was on the floor of their living room too. β€œPlease! Please let me go! Please! No, no no!” she shrieked, her lungs burning with the effort to be as loud as possible, to get as much attention as she could, to make Derek hear her where he consoled his coven member.

Restrained, Eva couldn’t fight against Alessa as the woman sat her down on a large boulder by the tree line, sitting next to her, arms on her shoulders, one on her waist, giving her freedom but not so much that she could weasel away. Eva cried. She didn’t know what else to do. β€œI don’t want to die!” she yelled, her chest heaving as her fear reached def com one, like a panicked soldier. β€œDon’t make me go back. Don’t make me go in there to look at them again, their faces, their heads,” she pleaded. β€œDon’t make me watch him with her, coddling her, loving her.” She didn’t know what she was saying, her words coming out in a slurred gush with tears and phlegm as her face melted into a horrified contorted mixture of sorrow and terror. "Don't. Please. I can't. Jasper. Isaac. Annabelle. Please. Please. The shrieking, the tearing noises, they replayed in her head as they sat there, painfully reminding her of what she had seen. She could hear Angel's cries from where they were, which only proved to make her cry harder.

Helena the Bloody

Before Helena even registered much of a reply from Dmitri, Kristof was behind her, his arms wrapping around her slender form, pulling her naked skin closer to his. She let herself be yanked up against him, enjoying the feeling of him. They might have been rather… active, during today. But it still had not made up for the extensive absence. But it was mostly her mind which had suffered from the distance between them. Not that her body hadn’t missed him, because it certainly had. She arched her back just slightly, pushing forth her breasts and giving his lips easier access to her neck. She could feel his mouth so very near the flesh he enjoyed drinking from. Then, as he finished speaking, a tender kiss was placed where his teeth most often bit into her.

The words caused the ancient vampire to grin, her eyes closed while she leaned into him, the humans and their newborn temporarily completely forgotten. Oftentimes the term β€œout of sight, out of mind” was quite true for Helena, since her attentions shifted so very easily. Not that she really saw much of anything. β€œI should send someone else next time…” she hummed daintily, both her hands reaching up behind him to rest in his hair, keeping his face near her neck.

As Kristof’s attention shifted to comment on Kaleigh however, Helena’s mind zoned out to actually pay any regard to her surroundings and their fledgling entered finally. So slow, so very slow. Tsk. The young were such drags. But then… at least they were better than humans. But she wouldn’t be able to do much of anything against anyone from Alessa’s coven. Especially not with that attitude of hers. Derek would tear her head off without blinking. She probably wouldn’t even have the sense to try to run for it. Not that it would help any.

Most likely little Angel would be doing her sweet master’s bidding. Mmm… right there was someone Helena would like to hear scream. Annoying little Italian, wasn’t she? Not that Helena minded Italians, but she really did prefer them back when they were Romans. Like her Kristof. So brutal. Even the memories of those bloodbaths could cause her to grow all kinds of fervent with desire. Now, those had been the times. That was back when it was easy to walk away unnoticed after slaughtering an entire village. Like she and Kristof had done when she’d turned him. His first feeding had been one of the most hungry, consuming ones she’d ever seen, and she’d been so very proud.

Helena had been lost in memories when what’s-her-name spoke up, causing the oldest vampire in the room to bare her fangs in a sneer, the white of her teeth clear through the dank darkness of the basement they were in. Kaleigh was in pain, lying limply on the metal table, while Dmitri sat there… most likely either glaring at her, or trying to look dignified. For very valid reasons, Helena couldn’t entirely tell. The redhead twirled herself out of Kristof’s hands to inch closer to the newborn. The girl’s expression changed to one of surprise at the sneer on Helena’s face, and she took a few steps back.

Then Helena sped up and in no time, the fledgling was pushed up against the wall, Helena’s one hand around her throat, the other playing casually with her prey’s hair. Then, as though the sneer on her face had never been, it turned into a kind smile, and she leaned in, letting her fangs dance up the girl’s trembling throat before she casually said β€œNow, darling, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” Then Helena let go and twirled elegantly towards the metal table currently hosting the small human she had taken as her own pet. The fledgling sunk a lump of fear, taking a second before she hesitantly crept forwards. The scent of her fear made Helena smirk. Ah, finally – something that made sense.

Then it hit her! Dmitri had said something, hadn’t he? A memory stirred briefly and she lit up, twirling around to face him, as though she was a child who had just found out she could pick her own candy for the weekend. Yes, it was true; she had indeed killed his boyfriend, had she not? She grinned happily, red eyes oddly focused on him as she eagerly said β€œOh, no, no, no… Dee Dee… this will be much different, I promise you. Repetitions are so awfully tedious, are they not?” She clapped her hands together just once and turned to face Kaleigh. Then she gestured for the fledgling to step closer, which the thing did.

Then Helena sent her a wide, sadistic grin before leaning down to kiss Kaleigh’s cheek, murmuring sweetly β€œNow, little Bird, scream for me” while she slowly began tearing off one patch of the skin she had carved a pattern into on the young girl’s stomach just before Kristof had come home. Blood flowed instantly while Kaleigh’s screams of pain filled her ears. Then she grabbed the newborn’s hair and forced her head down. The second Helena heard her drinking from the blood, she let go and reached up to tip the overhead mirror, so that Dmitri could properly watch everything being done to his little girlfriend.

β€œKristof, darling,” she subsequently trailed, her voice a suggestive purr, β€œwould you make sure our little Dee Dee keeps watching?” With that, she tore off another patch of skin, and another painfilled scream, loud but hoarse by now, filled the room.

Derek Fleitner

Derek had simply forced Angel to stay in his arms, recognizing the fact that she hadn’t yet registered that it was him holding her, and not an enemy. He knew his state of mind in her. It had been a long while, yes, but he’d seen it before. Actually quite a bit. Even young as she’d been when he changed her, Angel had been through a lot, and she’d had quite the past to deal with. She’d had quite the reasons to exact revenge on a whole bunch of people. While she had been a natural at vampirism, her mental instability had proven a challenge at first. Well… until she settled down and got over the power-rush. She had been helpless in the hands of men for so long, suddenly being the strong one had been exceptionally… reviving. Freeing, perhaps. As though she could finally see herself with her future.

She’d been such a funny creature back then, hadn’t she? And now here they were, her mind having regressed to that girl he’d changed all those years ago, curling up in his arms, seeking comfort in his strong embrace. He sighed when she apologized and shook his head slowly, sadly. As she babbled about having tried to protect them, Derek merely held her close and let his gaze roam their home. Well, former home it was now. They couldn’t stay here. Not with the human at that bar, and now with this blood bath. So many heads and bodies, three of which should still be with them. Alive.

When Angel choked on her words, Derek looking down at her calmly, his own grief and frustrations hidden away in a box in his mind for now, because that was what a good Protector did; but his coven before himself. She blamed herself. He hated that she did, because it wasn’t her fault. He was the Protector. He should have been there. He and Alessa both. If anyone carried the blame in this matter, it was the two leaders who had both left… simply because Alessa couldn’t control herself. He closed his eyes briefly to wrap that part of his feeling up as well and instead opened them back up just as Angel looked up at him, tears running down her cheeks, grief, shame and need in her pretty eyes.

And fear. β€œAngel,” he said quietly, trying to pause her in the middle of her sentence, but she was too out of it, and once she finally finished speaking, she lowered her eyes again and Derek was left with a sigh he couldn’t quite describe as anything other than just… sad. And he tightened his grip on her. He was about to speak, when he registered Eva… bursting out the door. Ah, hell. Not now. He really couldn’t deal with two upset women at a time. One was plenty. He glanced at Alessa briefly, but she was already on her way after the human, and Derek could turn back to Angel, but he could already feel her grow rigid in his arms.

Okay, that wouldn’t do. She couldn’t flip out more than she already was. Angel didn’t make smart decisions when she was in that state of mind. Derek thought it over briefly before reaching out his wrist for her, the pulse turned upwards as he held it close to her mouth. β€œYou need blood, Angel” he simply explained, his tone calm and controlled – almost soft. Their fridge had been broken in the fight and it looked like the few bloodbags they’d had left, had all managed to break. He wasn’t going to subject Adonis or Eva to Angel’s feeding right now (she would probably kill them), and Alessa couldn’t go without being full because if she did, she’d lose control in all this blood.

And he couldn’t take her out. So that left him. He could give her enough to steady her both mentally and physically. Now, Derek had only let another vampire drink from him once before, and he was more than aware of the effect it had on both parties involved, but he really didn’t see another way out right now. Blood was the only way to calm Angel right now, and she looked like she hadn’t fed in much to long. Now, that combined with the recent fight, was a baaad combination. He also needed to speak with Eva, but he couldn’t leave Angel, and right now Alessa could manage a potential disaster.

Eva would respond better to him though, but he’d deal with that once Alessa had her back. Because she couldn’t leave. No human could. Derek didn’t trust any of them enough to keep the secret once they actually left. Even if Eva loved him, he couldn’t trust that she would forever.

Angiluzza

Angiluzza had stopped breathing.

Not that it was a bad thing, but it freaked her out; like she had just died. Completely died. All she saw was darkness – nothingness. She whined and her body trembled as he held her tighter. She slowly found herself trying to grasp some sort of sanity or anything close to it. She blinked until she could see again, watching Eva run by almost as though it were in slow motion. And then Alessa off after her. Her head lolled a few times almost as though it were made of lead and she couldn't bear to hold it up on her own strength. She whined again as Derek mentioned that she needed blood. Where was she going to get it from? β€œI can't go out like this.” she whispered to him. She also did not plan on feeding from either Adonis or Eva – Adonis had disgusting blood and Eva...She would kill the girl and not entirely on accident, either. She looked around, catching sight of a dead Jasper – Poor Jasper. She wasn't particularly fond of him, or at least not all the time, like only twenty minutes ago. But that didn't mean she wanted the poor boy dead. Roughed up for his attitude, yeah. But not dead – He was pleasant company most days.

They had a love/hate companionship.

Her lips quivered in a pout and she returned to another bought of tears. Some Enforcer she was! But it was her family! She had taught Annabelle to read and write and fight with Nicholas. She had spent many a star-filled night sipping a glass of Jasper's blood on the roof while talking about the centuries past with Isaac. They were both beautiful souls and she wasn't ready for them to have gone already! She knew that it was possible that they would die defending themselves – Such was the life of living in a Coven. Their lives weren't a guarantee – Not by any means, was it. But she had lived so comfortably, so happy with her family that it was so hard to remember how dangerous it was to even walk outside of her home. Sure, she knew there were Nomads and Fallen Covens and Vampire Hunters to worry about, but it wasn't like they ran into them that often. It was easy for her to notice how amazing her life was and appreciate it. There had only three deaths prior to theirs in the whole time she had been with the Coven.

She couldn't imagine just shrugging off their deaths as 'just part of life'. She knew that it was, but so was grieving. Having spent so much time with the only made it worse when you finally lost them. She shivered as their still-open eyes stared back at her. β€œI'm sorry.” she whispered again, this time talking to them. She couldn't take back what had happened – But what could she have done differently to save them? Maybe acting faster. She overestimated herself; that's what it was. After tonight, after they moved, she would train again. This time, it wouldn't be like the past couple of centuries. No four hour sessions with Nicholas – No, she was going to isolate herself and her nights would be only training and pausing to eat. Until the crack of dawn. No parties, no reading, no candy.

That's all she could think of before snapping back into the present. He was right – She did need blood. She hesitated before thinking again of what he would possibly be thinking of – He knew that she would not feed from either of the remaining humans. She knew that he knew that. They both also knew that there was virtually no blood left in the destroyed refrigerator. That left...Him. She looked up at him as his wrist was placed near her lips. Her mind wandered back to that day when he had become her best friend, her father, her brother, her savior; her everything.

β€œFamily...What do you mean family? Where are they? I don't suppose the rumor about sleeping in coffins during the day is true? Or that I must always carry with me dirt from my home? Do I bleed, still? Do other vampires? Can vampires drink each others' blood? Or is that cannibalism?” She felt like a fool for asking, but she felt she needed to know. Her eyes lit up as a thought entered her mind. β€œI can go to school...?” Nicholas had chuckled softly, taking a moment to answer all of her questions as soon as she had answered them. She talked really fast, seeming to take advantage of not needing to take a breath and she was extremely curious. She was burning with hunger, but had requested her simple questions be answered before given food; what a strange girl indeed. β€œLet's start from the beginning, shall we? First of all, what I mean by family, is coven. It's not unlike a family. I will return to the subject of specifics. Currently they're some way from here, but not too far. You will meet them soon enough. But no, we don't sleep in coffins. Honestly, a bed is much more comfortable, but we do sleep during the day, and the sun is hurtful. Not fatally so, but it stings an awful lot. It takes a little while to get used to.” He smiled at her, trying to recall what her next question had been, before suddenly going β€œah, yes, we move around a lot, so I'd say it would be a little difficult for us to carry dirt around from every one of them.” He chuckled, β€œso no dirt. But you do still bleed, yes, red just like humans. We do, however, heal rapidly. And... we can drink each others' blood. It's not cannibalism. In fact, blood-sharing is considered an intimate thing between two vampires. Some do it during sex, because it heightens the senses, and intensifies the experience. You can sustain yourself on the blood of a fellow vampire, but it's not as good nor as nourishing as the blood of a human....”

She had never tasted his blood, nor the blood of any other vampire. She was glad that her face was stained cherry with blood because she could feel them urn red and grow just a tad bit warm as she blushed. She tried not to think about that centuries old conversation, though it wasn't exactly easy. β€œI...I can't. I'll choke down some of Adonis'...This is a bad idea...” She really was suffering from temporary insanity. How long had she craved sinking her fangs into him? Over five centuries. And now he offered it to her freely and she turned it down. She imagined this moment would have been a bit...more when it had come along. Not with them surrounded in the dead bodies of their companions, soaking in their blood with her own self in a hysteric fit. But she really didn't have a choice did she? O negative made her gag and put her in a foul mood. Once she was in her right mind, her in a foul mood was just as bad as her in a fit of insanity.

She had no choice in the matter.

Her fangs slid out with an audible click and she leaned her head forward just a bit, enough to sink them into his cold flesh. Her lips quivered as his blood touched upon her tongue and a shiver went down her spine as she practically sank into him. She was quick to pull his free arm, wrapping it around herself while she bit deeper into his wrist. She tried her best for this to be a good experience and it wasn't hard. Her entire body simply...relaxed. Every care she ever had simply washed away and for that time, it was just her. And him. As it had been for the first little while of her rebirth. His blood was much thicker and much sweeter than she imagined it to be – Not exactly O positive...but she wouldn't mind it some time again.

As soon as the blood trickled its way down her throat, it was as though a supernova went off in her head. She entered a state of euphoria, her eyelids fluttering as though she were about to have a seizure. She saw him standing in the middle of a meadow under the night sky...though why was he wearing a buckskin loincloth? She watched in silence, seemingly invisible to the scene as her own self seemed to glide across the long, green grass straight into his arms, her body draped in a short dress of white cotton. Uh...Were they about to have sex?! She thought she might faint – She watched as they held each other with the faintest of smiles, simply standing there like statues; Not that she'd mind standing in his arms for all of eternity. Hell, wasn't she already? Not completely, but it was close enough for her. It was entrancing to watch the two beautiful creatures interact with one another; she envied her vision-self as he ran his fingers through her hair and traced his fingertips along her scars. She looked so proud to bare them, not using makeup to cover them. It wasn't that Angel was uncomfortable in her battle scars...they just tended to be the main attraction of her body when they were out and it made her short when people stared. But her vision-self...she didn't care. Vision Nicky didn't care either. He marveled at her as though she were some priceless piece of artwork.

She tried to concentrate while watching, but someone was groaning. Dammit, who interrupting her vision? She growled in an irate manner before watching as Alessa and Adonis came out, dressed same as Nicholas and Angiluzza. The four of them laughed together, each pair holding their own. Jasper followed with his wife - Angel had seen pictures - And Annabelle soon after with Isaac. They were all smiling and happy, dressed in matching loincloths and cotton dresses. Everyone looked so beautiful and Angel couldn't imagine a better family portrait.

And then Eva came...Timid and shy, crossing the clearing in a green cotton dress. Angel's utopia was shattered as her vision-self slid out her fangs and hissed under her breath. β€œMine.” Vision Eva was startled, stopping dead in her tracks, fear filling her eyes. Angel didn't care. She should be terrified! Nicholas was hers! He had always been hers even though he didn't know it yet! This pet wasn't going to ruin over eight hundred years of closeness! Not now and not ever would she. Angel moved to attack, but she was restrained by him and the others. She turned and looked into his face. His soft smile was replaced by a light frown, his head shaking as he pulled her away and motioned for her to go. Angel was rigid as he moved past her and onto Eva, everyone else bearing the same frowns and shaking heads as they went with him. He smiled, embracing the frail human. Angel watched as Eva smirked from over his shoulder, her lips forming one word: Mine.

Her thoughts were vivid right now and the only thing she could think about him and his blood and how sad and angry she was. How long had she been feeding? Surely not that long! Her eyes had been closed the whole time – She couldn't think with all that groaning and growling in her ear! Who the fuck?!

Her eyes flew open and she realized that it was her.

Her back was against his chest while she took delight in devouring his blood – She was practically making out with his wrist, though her jaw had tightened as her anger bubbled, she was biting down into him as though she were trying to eat him alive...or dead. As soon as she realized where the groaning was coming from, she didn't take even a moment to wonder whether Nicholas had enjoyed himself or not, nor did she take time to notice his current position other than what she immediately felt. She flitted out of his grasp, standing on her own as her mind became semi-unclouded. Enough for her to realize the situation once more. She choked down a sob and brought her hand over her mouth. β€œAnnie...Isaac...Jasper.” She whispered softly before glancing over to Nicholas. β€œI'll clean this up...I'm sorry.” Her temporary moment on cloud nine was gone.

They were dead. Not happy and alive dressed matchingly in clothes that looked like they were all Tarzan and Jane couples.

She had never...dreamed or daydreamed anything like that! Had she said 'Mine' out loud? She probably had, considering that she was groaning and growling out loud. Maybe he wouldn't have noticed – Last thing she needed right now was for him to distance himself because she was acting stranger than usual. She cleared her throat and licked her lips before sliding her fangs back in. β€œAnd...Thank you. I'm sorry that I didn't leave you with any other choice.” She muttered before nodding towards the door. β€œYou should probably go check on your...On Eva. Make sure she doesn't run. She'll listen – You're all she cares about. Would be a shame to have to put her down.” She had returned to her usual, blunt self. Though she didn't really mean it – That it would be a shame to put Eva down. It wouldn't be hard to pick up a new human; It never was. She was growing increasingly weary of the girl's presence and that would not do. But, Eva was not hers to dismiss in any way and for now, she would simply have to pray that the girl would stop being stupid and try to run for it or ask for death or she would simply avoid too much interaction with her for the girl's own safety. She moved towards him and leaned over, kissing the top of his head before flitting off to the kitchen in search of something to clean up the blood.

Adonis

Adonis was silent. His eyes were closed as he took a few moments to think...He hadn't seen anything nor did he bother to go downstairs and check what was happening. His first reaction had been to find his damn phone and call Alessa – The only number in his phone. Sure, he got other girls' numbers; But he never bothered to save them in his phone. He didn't want to go downstairs – Why would he try to get himself killed? He imagined that Alessa would grieve – Direly hoping that she would if anything happened to him. He didn't know for sure, but just in case she would, he didn't want to hurt himself and bring hurt to her heart. Selfish? His reasons, yes. But, had he gone downstairs, the Coven would have been assed out of another food source for home. Not that anyone used him much. Adonis often wondered why the hell he was even around if he was just an emergency food supply – Rare was it that there was need of him. Not that he was complaining.

He got up slowly, blinking a little before unlocking his door and releasing the steps that lead down to the rest of the house. He was jumpy as he made his way down the steps and then around a few corners before down the stairs to the first level of the home. His sight was assaulted with a vision of red. Blood was spattered all over the walls, heads were lying around away from their proper bodies, and Angel and Derek were sitting in the mess of it all, soaking in the blood. Did his eyes deceive him or was Angel feeding from their Protector? Nope – He was seeing right. And hearing right as well: The woman...well. She was in heaven. He took a step forward, though jumped back when she started growling, the word 'Mine' escaping her lips.

He held up his hands and shook his head. β€œYo, chica. Don't want him. Keep 'im. I don't swing that way.” He was quick to dodge past them, his bare feet sliding in the blood and almost tripping him. He caught himself and continued on outside. He took a few deep breaths before sitting on the steps. Who were those people? And why did they attack his family? He suddenly felt a giant weight on his chest like he couldn't breathe. He bent over and the nasty taste of upchucked Ramen came flowing through his mouth, spattering on the stone steps. He did this a few times, his throat burning and his eyes as well. Though, his eyes were burning from the tears that were falling. He had been so mean to them and all they had done was give him a home and everything that went with it.

He recalled all the times he told Annabelle that she was nosy and stupid, the times he told Isaac that he was a drooling retard. He hadn't meant any of it...But. He hadn't had the chance to apologize or make it up to them...and...Fuck! They were dead. For good. They weren't coming back. He wasn't sobbing, but there were tears streaming down his face that he quickly wiped away before wiping his mouth of any remaining vomit. Which proved useless because he only vomited again. He had never seen so much blood in his life...even being part of a gang had not given him such experience around death.

Kristof and Dmitri

Kristof watched as Helena finally got the reaction out of Kelsey that she wanted; fear. Kelsey was terrified of the mad woman who was seeming to take delight in what looked more like a dungeon than a basement. She started to wonder what she got herself into...Until her face was pushed into Kaleigh's stomach and subsequently her blood. She was like a dehydrated dog lapping up the last few drops of a puddle – Though, in this case, there was an entire human for her to drink. Kristof was impressed – He wasn't even allowed to drink from Kaleigh. Surely he was right in his previous assessment; His beloved's need to break Dmitri was now even greater than her need to keep Kaleigh alive. It seemed as though he would soon have to hunt and find her another pet. And it would be him this time – He didn't like other people giving Helena humans as gifts. It was his job to provide for her needs and protect her. Honestly, even as a Protector, he didn't really care too much about protecting the others as he did Helena.

He moved towards Dmitri with a smirk as he was ordered, grasping the man's head with a strong hold – He was trying not to crush his head like a sparrow's egg while also trying not to snap his neck. It was a little difficult for him to contain his strength when he was so riled up; And Helena knew it. He could Dmitri grunting under the sheer force that Kristof was applying as he was forced to watch his love be skinned alive and lapped up like she was a snack...But then again; that's exactly what she was to them. Nothing more than a snack and he had been a fool to forget it. He could feel his eyes well up with tears. Kristof could only smile as Helena's newest progeny lapped up blood like she would never get a drop again.

Kristof was a puzzling man; on one hand, he wasn't very abusive when it came to women. He tried to be as merciful as possibly, limiting their pain by making their death a quick one. But on the other hand, he could not help but to take pleasure in watching Helena torture young women. She often told him that he needn't be such a gentleman or even to try with them, but his father's ways stuck with him. Still, he watched while holding Dmitri still as Kaleigh was skinned, his tongue running over his lips, watching the sweet blood trickle everywhere. Helena's naked body looming over Kaleigh's while a third lapped up everything – Paradise.

Dmitri tried to look away, but Kristof yanked his head back into position, using his fingertips to force his eyelids to stay open; There was no way out of it. Kristof smirked as Dmitri's salty tears ran down his face, placing his head next to the blonde's. β€œIts a beautiful sight, no? This is true nature. Cold. Unforgiving. Its survival of the fittest – She never stood a chance.” He practically cooed to him before finding himself being headbutted from the side – Dmitri didn't have a lot of space to move his head, but Kristof was close enough to get just a little in. Kristof responded only with a laugh – Dmitri would pay for that later.

Kelsey, meanwhile, was having the time of her life as she tried as hard as possible to make sure no drop was wasted, her tongue running along every inch of exposed flesh, her pale face red and smeared with blood. She ignored Kaleigh's cries; Hey, it wasn't her problem. She felt better than Kaleigh – They could have killed her like they did her buddies. Or they could have made her a snackpack like they did with Kaleigh. But, no. She was chosen to be one of them! An elite being! Sure, she was just their sex toy. But she was still one of them. Still better than being just a snack. But even as she licked on...She paused to think. Was this normal? That she so willingly accepted death and was so eager to lick up the blood of a girl being killed right before her? Part of her wanted to stop and run away and kill herself. But the blood...It was calling her name. She didn't really have much humanity to begin with.

Lucan

The Irishman was still pacing around the home, seemingly ignorant to everything around him. He disregarded the pained screams coming from the basement because it really wasn't anything new to him. His mind was on Roxanne - Where was she? He hadn't seen her all night and usually, she was banging on his bedroom door at this time of night. He really couldn't help tbut to worry - She was so young. At least compared to him, she was. Even if only by half his age. He shook his head and glanced around until he saw Scarlett cleaning up Helena and Kristof's mess. Putting on his most charming smile, he sauntered over and leaned against the most stable wall that he could find.

β€œAh, poor thing. Cleaning up all by your lonesome. Don't suppose that you'd like a bit of help...” He eyed the hole in a nearby wall that could only have come from a fist and he immediately assumed it to be of Kristof's. Weird for that man. He wasn't in a particularly foul mood as far as Lucan could tell and the man didn't seem to harbor any special dislike for Scarlett. Maybe Kristof's mind was going as well. Or maybe it was just something erratic for no reason. Lucan didn't dwell too much on it because it wasn't really his business.

β€œPerhaps after we've finished up a bit of cleaning we could go an' have a wee bit of fun?” It really wasn't that much of a question because he knew she wasn't going to say no. He and Scar had quite a few good times and she was quite delectable. Her blood type wasn't really his favorite, but she was still alright. Maybe it was because he frequently fed from her that made her blood so delicious to him? But having the same thing nearly all the time would make one sick of it eventually, right? Not really for him. He would be content to have a pet of his own to drink from whenever he pleased...Or maybe two or three. A blonde, a brunette, a red head, a Brazilian, an Aussie, a British. Ah! The beautiful women he only dreamed that would surround him and surrender themselves to him.

He had found himself lost in thought, damn near drooling on himself as he daydreamed. And then he realized that Scar was still there. β€œMy apologies, lovely. Anywho – About those offers? They're one time only, so choose wisely.” He did his best to waggle his eyebrows at her, though he was never really good at it, he understood that his attempts were found to be quite...cute. That's what Rox would say. He wasn't fond of being identified as cute or adorable, but with his current body state, he would take whatever would get him in a woman's pants. Such was the life of a sexual deviant.

β€œPlease! Please let me go! Please! No, no no!” The sound of Eva’s shrieks crushed Alessa’s frozen heart. Having the human locked in her arms felt wrong, but it was the only way to stop her. From doing what, Alessa wasn’t sure.

After placing her on a flat stone, Alessa kept her arms around the girl like iron vices. Eva’s skin felt like flames under Alessa’s cool hands, but it did not faze her. She was used to the feel. Considering moving her hands, she shook away the idea. Eva would take the chance to run, and Alessa couldn’t stand chasing the frightened girl again.

Again, Alessa felt an imagined pang in her chest as Eva burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably. Blood soaked the human’s clothes, skin. The weather was warming, and soon the girl’s hair was slick with sweat. Sighing, Alessa placed a hand on the girl’s forehead to cool her down, not at all worried that she would flee.

β€œDon’t make me go back. Don’t make me go in there to look at them again, their faces, their heads,” Eva sobbed. Alessa listened quietly, waiting until Eva was finished to begin talking. Though, she wasn’t entirely sure the human would be able to listen. She cried that Derek was showing affection towards Angel, and Alessa didn't know how to answer.

She deliberated quietly in her head before answering. What to say to a love-struck human?"Now," Alessa said quietly. "If you truly want to leave, I can arrange it. Easily I can buy a home for you and set up a bank account that will help you until you can find a job if you wish; you don't need to find one if you don't like. I can get you away from here, but I can't guarantee that you will live for longer than a year. The Fallen is out there, and will hunt you down." How she hated scaring the poor girl, but it was the only way to get her to understand.

Alessa stood up, letting her hands fall to her sides. β€œYou can decide what you wish; take your time. We’re leaving soon, to get away from what’s happened. Please decide before then, and carefully weigh your options.” She hesitated before leaving. β€œYou know I love you, you’re a sister to me.”

She was at the house quickly, and didn’t bother announcing her presence. She began speaking right away, hoping the remnants of her coven would be able to listen. β€œWe need to leave as soon as possible, that is obvious. Please do not feel that I’m not grieving over our loss; I am. Now is just not the time to grieve for me. I need to get our bearings and arrange another residence.” She pause, taking an unnecessary deep breath. β€œI think it’s the best decision that we add to our coven. We have only three vampires now; we are severely outnumbered to the Fallen. Finding other vampires could take a while. I was thinking of changing one of ours.”

She stepped through the blood, wincing and holding back the convulsing that comes with crying; she was no longer able to produce tears. β€œEva will not be changing. This is a decision of my own, hers, and I feel she is greatly needed towards the thirst of our coven. Adonis, though, I believe is our best bet. He is not fed on here, and I think is ready to take on the challenge of changing rather than being thrown out into the real world and hands of the Fallen.”

She left her speech at that, waiting for the feedback of her coven.

Helena the Bloody

Helena had begun humming softly again, her voice beautiful in a haunting way as she methodically pealed the skin off of Kaleigh. Her screams had died down purely because she had no more voice, but still she sobbed, and she painstakingly fought to beg for her life. She even thrashed in pain although that only made the spikes from the chains binding her, bore deeper. Silly little bird. Didn’t she know it was futile? Completely and utterly. Then again, it wasn’t unusual for Helena to change her mind very suddenly, but that was besides the point of course. Right now, Kaleigh was a weapon… and she was food. The perfect mixture. Unfortunately, however, she had to kill her food to make sure she become a weapon. The human was looking at Dmitri, love mixing with pain, but of course Helena didn’t even bother registering as much.

This was all about Dmitri’s reaction and even over the blood, she could scent the saltiness of his tears, hear the sound of them trailing down his cheeks. Mixing with it all, was Kristof’s arousal. His excitement. His bloodlust. She knew exactly what she was doing to him too. Kaleigh got physical torture, Dmitri got the emotional, and right now Kristof was being served a bit of the sexual kind. A shiver went down her spine at the thought of the carnal state he’d be in by the time they finished here. She grinned when she heard him talking to Dmitri. Then she heard their heads connect and she hissed until she heard Kristof laugh. This alone calmed her. But only enough to not tear Dmitri’s head off.

Instead Helena dipped her fingers into the pool of blood that was now Kaleigh’s upper body, and turned slightly to let Kristof and Dmitri watch her lick them clean ever so slowly, a treat for Kristof, but torture to Dmitri. Then she immediately turned, the speed blinding as she tore the new vampire from Kaleigh’s stomach and instead set her by the human’s neck. β€œBite,” she then ordered, pushing Kelsey’s mouth to Kaleigh’s neck. Kelsey needed to be drinking, fangs in Kaleigh, by the time the girl died, or she wouldn’t fall. And really now, Helena couldn’t have forbearers in her coven. They were pet-killers. Psh.

While the fledgling fed, Helena dipped her index finger in Kaleigh’s blood and wiped it off on her lips, leaving it there like edible lipstick, before she approached Kristof. β€œWant a taste?” She then teased, her hands on his chest the second she reached him. Silly question; of course he did. It was Kristof, her Kristof. He always wanted blood and he always wanted her. It was… a rule of nature. Simply. Nothing less than a rule of nature. She reached out a hand to place atop Dmitri’s head, as if to tell him she was now addressing him with the next thing she said. β€œYou see, sweetheart, I will always find things to hurt you. I will never stop. Even if I have to keep you around for the rest of your miserably natural human life, I will never give up.” Her voice was soft, almost loving as she said this, completely contradicting the tone of voice her words should have been said with.

Then she tilted her head. Was that the piano perchance? Ah, it was. How had she missed Oliver coming home? Hmm, perhaps she had merely been too occupied with her current doings, which were, granted, extremely interesting. She wondered how her darling was doing. Perhaps she should pay him a visit. Once she had washed up of course. One had to look presentable to confer with a man by his piano. Yes, yes, of course.

Derek Fleitner

Derek could practically see the wheels turning in Angel’s mind, her sense of logic wrestling with her hunger and the feelings she thought he didn’t know she had for him. He knew she’d eventually reach the same conclusion he had though, so he merely waited, his wrist ready for her to bite into. He couldn’t deny that the prospect didn’t exactly sit right with him. Especially because of her love for him. He didn’t wish to mislead her and he didn’t wish to hurt her, because he more than just cared about her, and he didn’t like the thought of the two of them not being able to talk. Or just be around each other, really. This bite would complicate everything, he had no doubt.

Then, as he watched, it was as though everything dawned on his protΓ©gΓ©, and she leaned forward, her fangs sliding forth. His eyes turned to the kitchen as she sunk her fangs into his wrist, but with that single sensation, Derek felt himself reacting. He sucked in a breath through his teeth, his eyes widening slightly. It had been so long… he never thought he’d… yet here he was, and all it took for his body to come back to life, was the bite of a vampire. A reluctant groan escaped his lips as she took his arm and wrapped it around her. He drew her close, the blood in his body racing in a way it hadn’t in so many years. He had not been physically excited for centuries, and yet here he was, everything coming back to life with a single bite.

He wasn’t going to welcome it though. No, Derek fought it, clenching his free hand, feeling his entire body grow rigid with his stubbornness, his will to stay platonic with Angel. That was the way things had always been, and it was not going to change. Yet he couldn’t deny his reaction. Fact was, however, that he knew it wasn’t because it was Angel. It could’ve been Alessa, and the reaction would have been the same. Still, right now his mind was racing with thoughts and wants he’d long forgotten to even consider.

He was so caught up in his own world, that when Angel growled β€œmine”, he didn’t react. He merely shut his eyes and clenched his teeth tighter, fighting the fact that he desperately wanted to let his free hand wander. Very abruptly, however, Angel then pulled back her fangs and moved out of his grasp, into a standing position. Derek breathed a slight sigh of relief, ignoring the blood pounding in a part of him he’d thought to be dead. Then his eyes fell on his wrist while Angel came to as well. He licked off the stray blood, watching as the puncture wounds healed up. He didn’t speak, nor did he look up at the Italian.

He nodded once when she spoke of cleaning up, and he got to his feet in one fluid movement, finally glancing at her when she mentioned Eva. He was about to reply to her little jab regarding the human, but as he opened his lips to speak, Alessa came back in and started talking. He frowned, turning to look at her. Her words were more than just a little unwelcome. β€œYou have got to be kidding me,” he told her then, not able to hide a slight trace of animosity and irritation in his voice as he looked straight at her. Had she even thought this through, or had she merely decided to seize the opportunity and change her little human love, so that she wouldn’t be afraid of killing him?

Had she not even considered the fact that he would be of absolutely no use against the likes of Helena the Bloody and Kristof? No use even against the weakest of theirs. And she thought he’d actually do any good? Hah, the prospect was laughable. Adonis was nothing but a rude little human boy who thought himself to be better than the others. And all that was besides the fact that training him would fall on Derek himself, and he would be busy finding new vampires to add to the coven. To top it all off, Alessa had just left Eva out there alone.

He pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger, closing his eyes as he let a sigh escape his lips. Almost immediately, he let his hands fall to his sides and his eyes opened to look at the woman he was there to protect. β€œWhat good is that little, self-important brat going to do?” Derek asked, his voice containing all the anger he felt at the attack, at his own guilt, at Alessa’s responsibility, at the fact that their coven members were dead, the fact that someone supposed to be their leader, couldn’t make a simple, sensible decision. He’d just about had it with everything, and he was hungry as hell, which didn’t do much to improve matters.

β€œHe has neither the age nor the training to do anything but die should we go up against the Fallen right now. All turning him is going to do, is take focus away from what we actually need to do; find vampires with age to join the coven.” He shook his head, narrowing his eyes slightly, β€œand you left a hysterical blood pet outside.” With that, he glanced at the door and added a, β€œmy answer is no, Adonis would make a terrible vampire, and I have better things to do than listen to him for the rest of eternity. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to do what it seems no one else around here can; think straight.” With that, he left the house, the remnant of his family, and the source of his irritation.

As he stepped outside, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath, breathing in the trail of Eva’s scent. Now he only needed to change into something less bloody so that he wouldn’t end up freaking her out. Instead of taking the door inside, however, he jumped onto the balcony connected to his room, went straight in and redressed in barely any time. He was now dressed simply in dark blue jeans and a fitted, black tank top, along with a pair of black shoes. Then he was off to find Eva. If she wasn’t up for it, he’d need to leave, because he really needed to feed. After Angel had drunk so much of his blood, he found himself craving some himself, and Eva smelt delicious.

When he reached her, he stopped five meters from her, watching her for a little while, before he gently spoke, β€œEva?” Derek approached slowly, attentive to her every movement.

Within moments, Scarlett became engulfed in the work in front of her. Though faint, sounds of chaos filled the house. The screams that came from downstairs made her heart lurch into hiding. Of all the years she had been here, she had never felt so insecure about her position in the coven. The unpredictability that Helena possessed was normally a characteristic that Scarlett admired. Tonight was different though.

As Scar gathered up the shattered glass from a broken frame, her mind raced with natural fears of death and dying. Unlike most humans she usually did not fear what was to come next. With all the suffering of this life, she figures there cannot be a life any worse. Dying would be just another adventure.

Without warning, but without startle, Lucan’s voice ran across the living room like velvet. As if she were a well trained dog, Scarlett’s head lifted to meet the eyes of man she both felt very connected with but knew nothing about. A man she both admired and lusted after. To her, he was a savior, a punisher and a confidant. Their relationship was not easily defined. They were neither friend nor lover, neither acquaintance nor foe. Scar felt very intensely for him, but she was unsure in what way. Perhaps it was just the fact that he took her away from a life she was willing to end herself.

When he first spoke only a small smile showed through, he was up to something. There was no reason that he would shoo her away so quickly then come and offer his help cleaning if he didn’t have have a motive. She knew exactly what he wanted. His first sex partner for the evening mustn’t have made it. β€œYou poor baby... Roxie didn’t show?”

Her eyes rolled as he came out with the real question, she took her pile of glass and swept it with her hand into a neat pile. She then made eye contact with Lucan and pressed her lips together in a pout before going on in teasing him. β€œOne time only. That sounds serious.” Her eyebrows shot up in fake dismay.

Scarlett smirked, forgetting about the noise below and only faintly recognizing that the low sounds of music were coming from the piano upstairs. Her mind flashed to Oliver, was he playing the piano? Suddenly, her previous thoughts of fooling around with Lucan were in conflict. She wouldn’t refuse Lucan, she enjoyed every moment with him. She couldn’t refuse Lucan, Scarlett was somehow in the mindset that Lucan was her master.

β€œWe have to finish cleaning?” She said abruptly, her hand instinctively resting on her hip.

Eva’s eyes were fixed on the back door of the house. It swung open on its hinges. A slight breeze was blowing and it was enough to leave it swaying. The wind played with her hair, blowing it onto her cheeks where it clung to the sweat that was pouring out of her. She felt the stickiness of her clothes, how it clung to her where it was soaked through with blood. Her face contorted into a mixture of confusion and pain as she cried. She was in virtual shock as Alessa prevented her from running, holding her tightly in her arms, her chin on the crown of her head. It wasn’t comforting. It reminded her of everything that she had left.

Her mother used to do the same thing. Eva would wake up from a nightmare and she would cradle her, no matter how old. When she had grown ill, Eva had done the same thing. And while Eva was close to Alessa, she wanted her family, her human one, in that moment. Pure unadultered terror had her tense and shaking. She began to rock as her eyes burnt from her tears. As silence fell over them all, she began to work to contain herself, biting down on her tongue so hard she could taste the iron of her own blood. There was so much of it on her, would Alessa panic over the scent of a little more? She didn’t even think twice. But the vampire put a cold hand to her forehead for a moment before shifting to speak, still keeping her tightly bound to her by one arm. Eva knew that Alessa wouldn’t let her fight or leave. She was stuck.

β€œNow," Alessa said quietly. "If you truly want to leave, I can arrange it. Easily I can buy a home for you and set up a bank account that will help you until you can find a job if you wish; you don't need to find one if you don't like. I can get you away from here, but I can't guarantee that you will live for longer than a year. The Fallen are out there, and will hunt you down."

Isaac had never told her of what it would be like if she tried to leave the arrangement she had made. Eva had never thought she would want to. But it seemed so evident. How long had she been there? And Derek, and his gifts, his voice, his charm. She had thought so much more of it this whole time, read into the way he held her, soothed her, touched her. But there was never more than a kiss on her head like she was a child that pleased him. Her heart twisted sharply and she processed Alessa’s words. She could leave. But she would die. That’s what Angel wanted wasn’t it? And what would they have now? She would feed them all. They all loathed to drink from Adonis, except maybe Alessa but she was too concerned with killing any of them that she always left to feed. That meant that Eva…would service Angel. The thought made her wince. If she stayed she would see them everywhere too. She bit her lip, bringing her hands to her head, pushing her long curly hair from her face while she started to cry again.

β€œYou can decide what you wish; take your time. We’re leaving soon, to get away from what’s happened. Please decide before then, and carefully weigh your options.” Alessa concluded, stepping away. She was no more than two feet away from her when she added, β€œYou know I love you, you’re a sister to me.”

Love. Alessa said the word and it only made Eva wince. The brunette squeezed her eyes shut as she was left alone in complete and utter silence. Eva glanced up to see the leader of their coven return inside the house, closing the lingering swinging door behind her. Eva choked on air, her shock returning to her. She slid from where she had been sat on the rock onto the ground, her knees meeting the wet mud and grass with a thud while she tried so hard to cope with this swirling mass of emotions that enveloped her like a torrent. It felt like someone was stabbing her repeatedly. She was bloody enough to think that was the case. For a split second it seemed so true. She felt like she was dying, her innocence completely fading away; eaten up by this one moment.

It seemed like awhile that she was on her own. Eva sat, drawing her knees to her chest to lean her forehead into them, holding her hands over her head like she needed to shield herself from the beating she felt she was taking. Her heart was being ripped out of her chest by the very people she had trusted, and strangers who killed half of those she loved in an instant. And then there was the one man she had thought would always be there. And the one she had fallen in love with so deeply the moment she laid eyes on him. Derek. She had been right there on the stairs when he stepped in, and he had run to Angel and not her, soothing the other, coddling her in a way so much more loving. As she pushed back through her mind to the months she had been there, she found herself falling further into a glaring realization. She was nothing but a good time to him. A meal. And the gifts, well, they had convinced her to stay all this time hadn’t they? Didn’t this event cement that further? Eva was still outside on the grass on her own, struggling to even cope and he was no where to be seen.

But think of the devil and he shall appear.

β€œEva?” Derek asked. Her head shot up and she stared at him, doe eyed but not so…flushed as earlier. No. It was a different stare. She looked at him with confusion and more than anything fear. He had just used her earlier, pinned her and took more than his fill. Now he was dressed in clean clothes and looking down at her, his eyes dark with that same hunger as earlier. Eva swallowed, before she turned her cheek to him and extended her left arm for him. That’s what he wanted wasn’t it? There certainly wasn’t anything else about her that he seemed to like now was there? "Take what you want," she sputtered, not looking at him, sniffing her nose and rubbing her burning eyes on her sleeve.

Angiluzza

Angel found herself hardly listening to a thing anyone said as she flitted around between the kitchen, the foyer, and the living room with cleaning supplies. She was but a blur as she ran out to the garage and returned with tarp, wrapping up the bodies. She tuned herself in at the mention of turning Adonis. This, however, caused her to bring herself to a halt next to Alessa. Sucking air in through her teeth, she closed her eyes. β€œAlessa...I have to agree with him. Adonis needs more training. And a serious attitude check.” She cut her eyes towards the human that was trying to keep from vomiting on their front steps again. β€œHe isn't ready.” Though, unlike her Maker, she did make it somewhat clear that she wasn't completely opposed to Adonis turning. Eventually. β€œAnd...Maybe while he's still human, you could attempt to feed on him with self-control. Until then...We really should just look for some Vampires with experience. Useful people.”

Angel now saw no real reason that Adonis should be kept around. Alessa wouldn't feed from him, Nicholas had Eva, and Angel would rather die that so much as lick a paper cut on his finger. Her sense of logic drew her to the conclusion that if Alessa would not feed from him, he was of no use to anyone. Angel and Nicholas didn't want him turned and Alessa didn't want to feed from him. He was just sitting around the house doing nothing but being pampered. Angel was not going to let him get comfortable in a position where he used everyone as personal guards and handmaids. The idea of being taken care of for the rest of your life without giving anything in return was indeed an enticing offer to any human. No doubt he knew this to be true and would capitalize on it.

She gave a shrug and went back to cleaning. The makeshift body bags were taken outside, though she set Jasper, Annie, and Isaac down more gently. The others were more so thrown out into the yard, the heads rolling out of them and onto the grass. She was going to burn those. She moved back inside and set to scrubbing the floors and walls, though she much preferred to just burn the place down. Once more, she tuned out everyone. She was hard at work trying to stop thinking about the fight. About the death. She wanted to leave and go far away from this house and never look back at it.

As she came to the spot where Jasper's lifeless body once lay, she paused. She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes. He was such a healthy eater. Absolutely delectable. Good for talking sometimes, even if he was apprehensive of her feeding. Such a waste of good blood. She licked her lips some before shaking her head and scrubbing away the blood. She would not lap his blood from the floor like a starving dog, delicious as he was. She had already fed, anyways. Not quite as delicious, but it did provide something that she rarely ever got, so she was happy enough if not a bit on edge from it.

The cleaning was complete in only a matter of minutes, leaving her more exhausted than before. She threw away all of the cleaning supplies and threw the bag outside near the still silent Adonis. β€œBury them.”, she nodded to the bag she had tossed near him. β€œBurn the Fallen...” She didn't much feel like talking to anyone right now. She didn't feel like burying the bodies or even playing her piano. What she did feel like was sitting in shallow water and clearing her head. She was so frazzled and lost right about now that she thought her head would simply explode from everything spinning around inside it. She gave her Coven Leader a curt nod and was gone. Back through the forest and all the way down to the lake. She could sit here until sunrise.

She peeled off her bloody shoes and dress, tossing them to the ground as she slowly walked into the water. She didn't go farther than when it hit her waist, letting the soft current splash its freezing waters against her own chilled flesh. She didn't breathe, she didn't move, and she didn't even think as she simply stood there like a bloodied statue under the moonlight.

Adonis

Adonis swallowed hard at the conversation going on behind him. As they talked as though he weren't sitting right there. He could feel his heart thump just a little bit faster and a little bit harder as Alessa suggested turning him. But the idea was shot down by Derek and Angel – Of course. His jaw tightened and he found himself sucking on his tongue to keep from shouting. They didn't think that he was good enough? He frowned some as he felt the breeze of Angel zipping by to throw out dead bodies, trying not to vomit as he watched their heads roll out of the tarps.

When she paused to give her input, Angel practically called him useless! He really couldn't deny that...If they could find some new Vampires to join them, he only prayed that one of them would find him to be tasty. There was no way that Derek and Angel would let him mooch.

He was silent as she tossed out a trash bag near him, ordering him to dispose of them and burn the bodies. And then she was gone. He didn't move at all. After a couple of minutes, he began to stir before coming to a wobbly standing position. He cleared his throat some before removing his shirt – It had puke on it. He tossed it to the side and picked up the garbage bag that was filled with bloody rags, paper towels, cleaning chemicals, and brillo pads and headed out into the yard.

β€œI need a shovel.” He was going to dig a fire pit and just burn everything and bury the ashes. Mumbling to himself in Portuguese, he trudged his way to the garage on the side of the house where he came back with a shovel and gasoline. Gulping, he began to dig, trying his best not to vomit again.

Kristof

Kristof could not suppress letting his fangs slide out nor the growl of arousal rumbling in his throat as he held Dmitri still to watch the sight before them. He watched as Kelsey discovered her own fangs and soon drove them into Kaleigh's flesh as she was ordered. She was obedient – That would be good for her survival here. But his attention was soon diverted back to Helena who was wearing Kaleigh's blood as though it were lipstick, causing his lips to curl into a smirk. He waited for her to finish addressing the poor, tortured little boy in his chair before he answered her question to him.

His answer was not in words, but in action. His arm was around her waist once more as he pressed against her, bathing himself in the blood that was covering her body. Her scent mingling with that of the women they killed was driving him wild. Mostly because the other women smelled of death and his beloved was the one that delivered it unto them. She was his perfect Angel of Death.

He was ready to ravage her body again and again. He growled lowly against her throat, his free hand traveling to her wrist as he pulled her hand to his mouth, greedily lick and sucking the blood from her slender digits before forcing his lips against hers and drinking from the blood she had so graciously placed upon them. He could hear Dmitri's sobs coming from behind him as the boy writhed against his chains watching and listening as Kelsey bit deeply into Kaleigh's tender flesh. He listened to Helena's progeny moan and slurp as she slowly drained the human girl of her sweet essence.

He was surrounded by death and torture and he loved it. He loved the way it made Helena simply seem to glow with absolute joy and he fed from the energy himself as he found his mouth traveling over every inch of her cool, ivory flesh. His senses went wild as his tongue touched upon her most sensitive areas, lapping up the blood like a starving dog, though he was more after her body than the blood as he hoisted her up around his waist. β€œYou. Are the most cold hearted bitch that I know.”, he chuckled in Italian, snapping almost playfully at her lips, coming just shy of biting them as he growled. β€œBut you know well enough what happens when you tease me.” He hissed at her. It was a threat, but one of sexual nature rather than of harm. He knew better than that and could never imagine he would even want to harm her.

Lucan

Lucan was observant of Scarlett's every move; The way that her head lifted immediately in response to his voice, the way her eyes watched him, even her usual little smirk. He moved towards her, running the backs of his curled fingers gently down her cheek as he took a moment to simply reminisce about the day that he had brought her back. He hadn't quite meant to torture poor Oliver that way. But shit happens and she was so willing. How could he not save such a beautiful creature from such a broken life? She was so willing to come and she promised to be good – He just couldn't say no.

The lightest of smirks danced across his lips as she mentioned Roxanne – Oh, his dear Roxie. He was worried about her absence, but she was a big girl and she could handle herself. Right now, he was feeling the need to gorge his hungers. Mostly his sexual craving – His earlier partner didn't last quite that long, but that may have something to do with the fact that he had killed her five minutes in, but really. What did it matter? β€œSadly, no. But you don't seem quite so heartbroken over it.” The Irishman gave a light chuckle as he took a few steps closer, almost towering over her as he cupped her face and watched her feign dismay.

β€œAye. Quite serious, indeed.” A light smile flitted over his lips as he watched her, both pausing to listen to the piano upstairs. Oliver. He lifted a brow, wondering whether she would accept or not, though a large part of him seemed to already know she would. Her abrupt question brought forth a bit of soft laughter from him. β€œYou know how our dear Leader feels about a dirty home. And we wouldn't want to make her angry, now would we?” His voice was teasing, but he was as serious as the plague. Kristof was home and apparently brought her treats, so she was most definitely in a good mood. There was no need nor want to dampen that mood even the slightest bit.

β€œTell you what – I'll clean it. You go upstairs, find something sexy to wear, and be in my room before I'm done.” Lucan liked to negotiate. He tended to always get the better end of the deal, though this was quite he win-win situation for both parties involved. He was purposefully ignoring the sounds from the basement, though he made a mental note to later check on Dmitri. The kid was good company when he wasn't brooding. Offered intelligent conversation, too. Lucan was no stranger to offering the veteran slave a fine dinner every now and then.

He leaned down and brushed his lips against Scarlett's gently. β€œAnd please do hurry.” While he was cleaning up the rubble he might as well get out some steaks for his wolf pups as well.

OOC: Dmitri's is coming up soon!

Lucan’s hand burned through her skin and the closer he inched toward her the more impatient she became. She could never quite pin down the right feelings, but she knew that lust was involved. Her eyes fluttered up and down him, remembering past experiences. Instinctively her hand found his shoulder and spun a path on the fabric thereof. Already, even with Oliver in the back of her mind, she wanted to fulfill his needs.

Just his very intention turned her on, and his smooth hand on her tired face made things even worse. Scar remembered the first time she had slept with Lucan, his body disfigured and jaunty surprised her. In her mind a vampire was perfect. Yet, there was something beautiful about his abnormal self. Beside that the sex was godly. Any woman who refused him account for his body was a fool.

Her head tilted to the side before she pressed her lips and nodded in agreement. First came Helena's happiness, otherwise ther lives would be in hell. But before Scarlett could pull herself away, Lucan had proposed a better offer. "I like your style." She swooned. A light smirk played on her lips as her passion continued to boil.

Lucan then gently brushed his lips against hers, such a soft touch that it was barely justifiable. A nearly silent sigh of craving escaped her lips before agreeing to his deal. "I'll be upstairs." She said smoothly, then unlinked herself and headed toward her room. The upstairs was more relaxing, music coming from the other side of the walls- music. Oliver.

Scar stopped at the top of the stairs, listening to the song being played, and for a moment she regretted this. Her hand trailed the wall, deciding between going into the piano room or into her bedroom. She couldn't refuse Lucan, that was already decided. There was nothing more to done. Scarlett scuttled to her room and went straight to her underwear drawer.

Before coming to live with The Fallen she never owned lingerie, but now she had a wide selection. She wasn't just a blood pet, she was also a sex pet. She found a pair of matching bra and panties; constructed of very sheer black lace with red accents. They were extenuating, skimpy, yet remained classy. After undressing and putting the set on she finished the package with a pair of sheer black nylons and red garters.

One investigation of herself later she was zipping across the hall. As self conscious as she was about Oliver being just in the other room she didn't even cover up before crossing to Lucan's chamber. Once inside the room, Scarlett greeted the dogs briefly before combing her fingers trough her hair and finding a comfortable, suggestive position on Lucan's large bed.

Alessa growled slightly as she watched Derek storm out of the door. His response was both what she expected, and not at all what she saw coming. True, having Adonis as a young vampire would be hard since he would have no training and a horrible bloodlust. But, Alessa believed that if they changed him, the Fallen would be less tempted to take him away. She suspected that having the blood pets was dangerous, as the Fallen would find them good bait to get the Forbearers to attack. If the blood pets became vampires, perhaps the Fallen would lose their interest in them.

Nonetheless, Alessa let Derek leave. Now was certainly not the time to argue. A discussion could happen later. She watched as Adonis began trying to clean up. Sighing, she made her way over to him. Finding him by the garage, she noticed the shovel and figured out his motive. Cleaning the home wouldn't do much good. "Adonis," she began. "Cleaning will not do any good. There is too much evidence and it might cause suspicion. We will just have to burn the house down." She looked up at him, trying to see in his eyes what he was thinking. "I'm sorry I did not consult you before speaking to everyone. I should have asked your opinion as to whether you wanted to be immortal."
