Making Peace

Making Peace

0 INK

When the world is torn apart, 4 nations must send in the next in line for the throne in hopes of them falling in love and making peace throughout the land. However, the ones being forced into this have other things in mind and might just make thing worse.

1,386 readers have visited Making Peace since ~Living-Dead Doll~ created it.

Introduction

Long ago, the world was united and all the elements were at peace. However, when the Land of Shadows decided to expand its empire, it started a war. Greed spread throughout each nation and suddenly everyone was at war. This is when the Council stepped in. They devised plan where the oldest child of each nation would be brought to the only peaceful lands in the world and be forced to marry their greatest enemy, thus ending the war. However, when the oldest prince from the Land of Water and Ice murdered his fiance, everything was called off.
It has been 2 years since they ended the Peace Treaty, however the Council is at it again. However this time, they will not bring more then 2 from each nation. The prince/princess and one guard. Can these children make peace from a war that was started long ago? Or will there just be another murder?

~~Nations~~
Land of Water and Ice-
The land is covered in lush rivers and waterfalls. The climate is quite cool most of the year, and downright cold in the north of the nation, where everything is covered in snow and ice.
*People from this nation tend to be rather cold and often keep their emotions hidden from others.

Guard-M-Fala

Land of Fire and Electricity-
The land is a very hot and humid throughout most of the land, and a desert in other places. In the desert areas, there are frequent lightning storms, which is said to be why some of the people who live there can control electricity.
*People from this nation tend to have a short fuse and it is easy to make them mad. They often speak their minds and are very bad at hiding their emotions.
**People from this nation have the ability to transform into a Raven/Hawk/Eagle or Tiger. They also have the ability to manipulate fire and electricity.
Prince-M- Prince Vincent
Guard-F- Misery
Guard-

Land of Shadows-
There isn't very much known about the land of Shadows. Most think it is where sin was born as most people base their lives on a certain deadly sin.
**Can transform into a Shadow Beast ((Must be approved by GM)) They have very good stealth skills and can manipulate shadows to a certain extent.
Princess-F- Sin
Guard-M- Bujan
Guard-F- Trage

Land of Light-
The land of Light is said to be the land of Gods. Many who live here only want peace and seem to be the purest of beings. The land is said to be covered in glowing crystals.

**People from this nation can transform into a Creature of the Light. ((A holy like being, possibly angel like creatures))
Prince-M-Ren
Guard-F- Armana
Guard-

Council/ Land of Peace-
The Council is made up of an elder from each nation though they all have their own special abilities.
The Nation of Peace is a place that always seems to be cool. There is a slight gust of wind that seems to keep the temperature down and the shade from the tall trees makes sure things don't get to hot. Yet there is enough sunlight that makes it through to keep the atmosphere warm. There are 4 Elders, one from each nation, who have mastered all that nation has to offer.
**NOTE: All council members are neutral and do not have a grudge against any nation. All four council members believe the arranged marriages are for the best, however they can fall in love with a princess/prince or whoever else they might like

Main Council Member- NPC

The Land of Peace is a lush grassy place. The temperature is always just right, with just enough sunlight for there to be warm but enough shade to make it cool. There are bright glowing mushrooms everywhere that are used as light sources on the ground and all along the trees while traveling the staircases to the top of the trees.

Image

At the top, there is a huge room that looks like possibly like throne rooms, however there are 4 thrones all next to each other. The thrones are in the center, all around a large bright light that looks to be from a crystal of some sort. The room is round and the walls are lined with doors. Behind these doors are huge lavish rooms for each prince or princess, along with their guard.

Image

Your things have already been sent to your rooms. As you make it up the stair case, a large humanoid lion man greets you, bowing respectfully to everyone.
"Welcome. You have been brought here today in an attempt to make peace with your neighboring lands." He stated, his voice thick and gruff. "You will have everything you need here. We have scheduled several things for different courts so you may get to know each other better, before you are to wed." He paused for a second, moving his hands from in front of him, to clasping them behind him. "Now, I am sure some of you are tired, however feel free to communicate with the others. We are all equal here."
With that, the man forced a smile before leaving, letting you go to your room, look around, or possible even talk to the people from the other lands.

Ren stood there, fingers tapping anxiously at his sides as he stared at the impressive room. The shape and design was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Back at the Light Nation, everything was designed in sharp angles, as was their custom. Here, everything was so much more... fluid, less grounded. A small smile flickered on Ren's face. He didn't mind the change in scenery. In fact, he had been hoping for it.

"Not the most atrocious place imaginable, right?" he whispered to Armana, who stood beside him. The guard had been assigned to him when Ren was around 14, and from then on she was one of his most trusted and well-liked companions. It was such a relief when his father told him that he'd be accompanied by her to the Land of Peace, rather than some other nameless guard.

His cheer didn't last very long, though. The presence of the others weighed down the room's lightness. The now-familiar feeling of paranoia crept onto Ren as he felt his face harden instinctively into an impenetrable mask.

Moments later, a lionlike man entered the room. Ren couldn't help but stare at the humanoid, his ferocious features taking him aback, if only for a moment. Ren recomposed himself as the man described their stay here, before leaving the room once more. Ren moved closer to Armana, his wings brushing lightly on her back. "So... what do you think?" he asked quietly, surveying the others in the room. He trusted Armana's judgement more than his.

Sin slowly made her way up the stair case that led up to the main 'palace' like place. She felt horrible for her guards, who were probably frustrated by this time and just wished to make it to the top already. "You can go on without me." She muttered before realizing she was finally at the top. A loud sigh escaped her, as she hated being in foreign lands.

In the Land of Peace, she run shined and though the trees blocked most of it, she wasn't used to such exposure. Even though she was blind, the light seemed to still hurt her eyes, possibly more then it did the others. She tried to keep her gaze on the stairs, which she could barely make out. As she continued to walk up the stairs, she could feel the cool breeze blowing against her skin and through her raven black hair. One hand rested on the rope railing, while her free hand rested on the side of her long black dress. It was informal, to most, however it was comfortable, which was the reason she chose to wear it.

At the top of the stairs and in the main room. The first things that caught her attention was the bright glowing thing in the center of the room, which seemed to be some sort of crystal, though she wasn't for sure. The next thing she noticed, was the other royals and their guards. Each person emitted a different color, depending on what nation they were from. First her eyes locked onto the man she was to wed soon. His color was a bright white outlined in the softest blue. There was a women standing next to him, which emitted the same basic color, however hers was not as bright.

When the main Council member appeared, she took a step back. His aura was unreadable, it shined of every color, though she could also see him clearly as if she had perfect eyes. For a second, she was shocked as she stared at him, though she couldn't see anything other then him and his aura until she looked away, then her vision was the same as it had always been. "That was indeed weird..." She thought silently then watched as the lion-man walked away.

Even though the man was gone, his words echoed in her head. "- feel free to communicate with the others." She nearly laughed out loud at the thought before turning to her guard. "Did they send you what rooms we are in?"

Ever heard the saying? Try, Try, and Try again? Sounds like someone can't accept defeat and wants to make it work, and Fala understood that concept pretty well, but when lives were involved, when lives were at risk, it made the whole affair quite unsettling, especially with the events that occurred two years ago. Now, he couldn't blame the Prince for doing what he saw was best. Afterall, he was a Prince afterall, next in line to the throne, power at his fingertips, and yet no power over who he chooses to spend his life with. She must of been some ugly woman then, Fala mused as he thought about it.

However, the past was the past, and now the future of all nations, including his own was at stake. He now had his duties to think about, which was to defend the Princess. Afterall, since it was the Prince of Water and Ice who did the killing, someone may wish to seek the dear Princess who hadn't done anything wrong, yet here they were, surrounded by foes. Back home, life was easy, since everyone respected the Princess. It was nice to relax by the waterfall, listening to the sounds of the rushing water and hear the ripples beneath. However, they was not at home, but in the Land of Peace, where ironically, they were not at peace at all, especially when death lingered like a bad odour.

Fala was not the only guard to defend the Princess, but also Jackal, who was a strong muscular man, who had obviously done lots of training to get his muscles to look like the way they did. Fala on the other hand seemed out of place, since he wasn't as muscular as Jackal (only in his werewolf form), and when he shifted, his shade of black made him stick out from everyone else, though it wasn't so bad since he would get the attention he seeks. The main thing was that he could fight, and fight well. However, the time for musing on the past were finished, as it was time to look forwards, as he looked around and saw the beauty of what the Land of Peace had to offer. There was no calm running waters that he could see like at home, but quite a few shady places and it was nice and cool, and yet, he couldn't really settle down.

The trek took a little while, but they all arrived safely at the top where a giant lion of a man stood in his silks, welcoming them all, and informing them with such little information on what they had planned before offering them to communicate with the others, in which Fala remarked quietly with a smirk after he had gone, "Next, he'll be telling us to leave our doors open", obviously exaggerating his point. But of course, he had to be the one with great optimism, and as a result, begun to scan the room to see those from the other nations, before turning his attention to those from his own land. Afterall, the lion man said it himself, how some of them were tired, and tiredness doesn't make you think straight. Then again, they could easily cause trouble and blame the lion man for inviting them to speak, as his smirk widened.

Fala couldn't help winding people up sometimes, but as of now, he had a duty, and his duty was more important than ever since they were not in their land. He fell back a little, seeing as it was his job to follow and protect and not lead, as it was upto Aria if she wished to mingle or retire to her room, and remarked, "Well it seems to be pretty cool here", referring to the breeze like the cool air they had back home, though it still wasn't home, "What are your thoughts?", he asked, directing to Jackal to see what he made of it, while his own eyes continued to scan the room, aswell as keep an eye on everyone else as best as he could, before turning to Aria to see what she thought, aswell as to await for her instructions on what she wished to do.

Eventually making it up the stairs with Sin, Trage kept quiet during the briefing with the lion-man and until she asked either of us guards a question. She didn't know which one of the two guards, the other being Bujan, she was acknowledging, but she answered anyway in a small yet emotionless voice. "I haven't received any word of it yet. Would you like me to go and find it?" While asking this, Trage was slightly hovering off of the ground since her umbrella was open and she seemed weightless now. She didn't expect her, Bujan, or the Princess to began socializing since that expansion of empire was our nation and had made the other nations upset, but Trage didn't see why we couldn't ask around for an answer.

Kabal-Abdul "Vincent" Pyragni

"Be careful, my son. Those from the land of water and ice are devious; you know very well what happened two years ago. The Princess of Fire died, leaving you the country's sole heir....I would not lose you as well."

"Oh yeah? Then why don't you take my place and marry the broad?" Kabal-Abdul mumbled to himself as he remembered his father, the King's, parting words. A most disgruntled look on his face as he trudged up the stairs, he silently dreaded the upcoming meeting in agony. He imagined the Ice princess to be just that; a person who was icy, rude, and downright cold. In short, he imagined her to be like the kind of people he hated most. Finally, turning to look at his guard in a silent plead, he reached the top of the stairs. However, he regained his composition quickly, turning back to face the room.

With a rather resigned sigh, he entered the room to be greeted by some sort of lion-man.

"Welcome. You have been brought here today in an attempt to make peace with your neighboring lands."

By 'peace', you mean a team deathmatch, right? Kabal-Abdul thought to himself, chuckling a little bit out loud.

"You will have everything you need here. We have scheduled several things for different courts so you may get to know each other better, before you are to wed."

Oh, yes, please. I would just LOVE to know my killer before they stab me in my sleep, or poison me, or whatever. It's a great way for them to meet the folks, too! They can have lunch at the funeral and everything. Much like a little kid, he couldn't help but laugh more. The thought of some cold, stuck up woman having lunch with his incredibly casual family was just too funny. Covering his mouth, he tried to suppress his laughter as much as he could.

"Now, I am sure some of you are tired, however feel free to communicate with the others. We are all equal here."

Equal, riiiiggghhhttt.......communicate, riiiiggghhhttt......since when did a team deathmatch become a form of communication? At this last bit, he couldn't hold back any longer. He burst out laughing, unable to contain himself any longer.

"Bwa ha ha ha ha!" As Kabal-Abdul laughed, the lion-man shot a glare at him before forcing a smile and leaving. Kabal-Abdul didn't care, he was too busy trying to stop laughing, bent over and holding his sides. However, whenever he looked up and saw the other royalty and their guards, he'd just burst out in renewed laughter.

Finally calming down after a few moments, Kabal-Abdul stood straight up and looked over at his guard. "Well, Misery, it looks like we've got some fun times ahead of us, eh?" He smiled, his eyes giving off a most fierce-looking glare as he did so. The look on his face was so obvious that it was almost comical; he was up to something, although knowing him it was almost a given that he planned on going exploring.

Misery

Looking around Misery was at peace, it was secure. Doors strong and she felt safe, Bowing respectfully to the Lion Man she glared at Vincent for being rude. He was her only 'friend' do to the fact that not many wanted to socialize with a tiny but frightning strong girl guard of the prince, one who's name was Misery was out of the question. When he looked around the room with a challenge in his eyes she sighed and slapped his back, hard, "Thats enough Vincent, We dont want to restart the war sense its at a momentary peace... I told you the King threatned to send me to the front lines if I let you do anything stupid." She scolded, her voice becoming softer and her face even harder as she said the last part, her cat Minx sat at her feet and hissed at The prince in away to warn him to stop irratating Misery. "And it will be fun, I mean theres no one here who can force us to wear the stupidly formal clothing." She said in a happier tone, she didnt resent the other nations like most other people but it didnt mean she liked them.

It was obvious that Misery felt uncomfertable in her clothing, it was to formal and a maid had pulled her hair into an dispisable hair do, "You have to help me undo my hair!" She complianed before realizing she had slipped into treating Vincent like a friend infront of the others, luckily she didnt think anyone had seen but a few guards and she thought most of the guards looked comfertable with their Princes and Princess's so they were probably in the same boat. "Sorry for treating you like a friend and disgracing you infront of the other royalty." She said in her 'guard' voice, her face blank.

Jackal

Jackal tensed when he saw the Prince who would be matched to his Princess, "I think its to hot, maybe the rooms will be cooler, seems like we are the only ones having probablems with the weaather though...I want to shift, im too tense. You?" he asked his partner Fala, it was cool but to him it was sticky hot but he had trained alot more in the ice part of the kingdom becasue thats where his dragon prefered it, part of Jackal wanted to go say hi to those around him but his face was blank, a skill he had forced himself to learn. If it wasnt for his control of water and shifting into a dragon he would have thought he was in the wrong nation. Somtimes he still did, he was too happy, too sad, too everything if you asked any one he grew up with.

"The Prince of Fire...His guard appears to have a friendship with him, maybe we can get information from her. Well when I say we I mean you becasue you are better at flirting then me." He laughed and patted Fala on the back before his eyes moved to the Princess of Darkness, he admired her for a moment before pretending not to. He knew he had no chance of ever finding someone to love him because of his outrages emotions.

The first thing Aria had noticed about the so called 'Land of Peace' was how much of a far cry it was from home. With it's lush, green grass and little mushrooms growing, it was very different from the Land of Water and Ice's pretty fresh snow and perfect frozen lakes. At home, Aria wasn't sure she'd ever really seen the grass except when coated prettily in a layer of frost and fresh snow. The air here was a little warmer than home, it made her feel uncomfortable and out of place. In fact, this whole situation made her feel that way. This had been the last thing she'd ever wanted to do. She had no desire to be here, and even less to marry any one of these princes. But her mother's clipped, cold words still echoed in Aria's head from when she'd asked her parents not to make her go. "You have to Aria, after what your brother did..." her cold words were thrown accusingly in the direction of her older brother with disgust, who stood on, watching sadly.

Aria made her way up the stairs, flanked closely by her guards. At least in having them there she was offered a little comfort, she though. Aria had grown up with the guards, having had them protecting her and watching over her since she was young. They were two of the few people in the whole world that she could genuinely say she liked and enjoyed spending time with. She'd even go so far as to say she trusted them, which was something she didn't have with anyone else.

At the top of the stairs the group were met by a strange half-lion, half-human who towered over them. He addressed them calmly before leaving. But the information he provided was no where near enough to give Aria any kind of comfort.

As soon as he'd finished speaking Aria's attention was drawn towards a man, laughing in the corner at the lion-man's words. Instantly, Aria recognised him from the picture her mother had shown her sternly the week before. So this was 'Prince Kabal-Abdul Pyragni'... The man she was expected to marry. She saw him double over with hysterical laughter and make a sarcastic comment to his guard. Aria's mind began to race and she took a deep, shaky breath, attempting to keep her emotions in check and push her thoughts away to deal with later.

Beside her she heard her trusted guard Fala make an attempt at a joke about the lion-man's short address. "Next, he'll be telling us to leave our doors open"

Under normal circumstances Aria would've at least smiled but right now she was more getting the urge to hide in her room with the door slammed shut and tightly locked rather than open...

"Well it seems to be pretty cool here. What are your thoughts?" Fala asked her other guard, Jackal.

"I think its to hot, maybe the rooms will be cooler, seems like we are the only ones having probablems with the weather though... I want to shift, I'm too tense. You?" Jackal responded. Aria couldn't agree more. The heat was making her uncomfortable; she could already feel her cheeks beginning to redden with the temperature. And the tension hung in the air like a dark, unshakable cloud. It was making her long for her wolf form.

Her eyes flickered back and forth for an exit plan, anything to get her away from these people for just a minute. But Jackal broke through her thoughts.

"The Prince of Fire... His guard appears to have a friendship with him, maybe we can get information from her. Well when I say we I mean you becasue you are better at flirting then me," he said to Fala, laughing.

"No one is flirting with anyone..." Aria broke into their conversation. "Don't trust any of them. Let's just go to our rooms..."

Suddenly, her last conversation with her father flashed through her mind.

"Aria," he said to her, his voice holding more emotion than she'd ever heard from her loving yet reserved father, "After what happened with your brother, no one there will trust any any of our family, especially you. They will think you are there to do the same as your brother did. If anyone there needs a target you will be their first choice. I know this isn't your choice and it's going to be hard for you but you need to speak to them all. You need to be friendly and open. They have to trust you. No, more than that, they have to like you."

"...Wait. I... I have to speak to him first." She said 'him' with a shudder, glancing towards the prince she had been matched to.

A Man who looked remarkably like a lion spoke to everyone. The room felt very stuffed.

"So... what do you think?" Ren Asked her.

" Well..." Armana replied tentatively " It's Different"

Armana Trusted the Prince more than anyone. He Knew her better than anyone. Armana had left her controlling parents to become a guard. A girl? A Guard? It was unheard of until Armana came along. But the Prince accepted that Armana wanted to be a guard. To be honest, Armana secretly loved him. But, that was a secret which she would never tell.

She looked at all the faces, A girl, that looked quite like her, was leaving the room.

"What should we do now?" She asked Ren.

Bujan stayed close behind Sin while she climbed the stairs. Synchronizing his steps with hers, no easy feat but, was better than walking faster than her and having to wait longer.

He paid little attention to the fact the princess was dying. They were at the top soon enough and finally they could get to where they needed to be. Although he didn't really want to be in the same room as all of the other nations. The contention, he thought, would be thicker than a brick.

Those thoughts were soon put to rest as a large man, somewhat reminding him of a sea lion, said, "We are all equal here." Whether that will be the case or not, at least one of these nations will have to be treated as an equal by the Shadow. If he remembers correctly it will be the Light nation. What he thought ironic is that the two 'opposite' nations would be arranged to marry. It makes the most sense if you don't think about it.

"Did they send you what rooms we are in?" He looked down, the princess was quite short comparatively to him. Of course they told him. Hilariously, they didn't tell Trage.

"Ah yes, our room. No I have not been told, it would be wise to find that out. It looks like Trage has accepted to look. Now if you do not have any requests I would like to have a chat with someone." He was talking about the guard that looks like a dog, if he remembered correctly the land of Water and Ice would have those traits. Now if he could remember how to speak dog, it would be the perfect ice breaker.

As Sin waited for an answer from either of her guards, she heard someone from another land reply to the Council Members statement, which made her nearly laugh again. "Next, he'll be telling us to leave our doors open" She moved her eyes onto the three who were obviously from the Land of Water and Ice. First she noticed the Princess, whos aura was larger then everyone elses, however her eyes moved to the two guards. The one who had made the comment had a bright almost cheerful blue-ish purple aura, while the other guard, had a deep icey blue aura, similar to the princesses. However, his also held hints of red, which was quite odd. However, as she examined him a little more, getting a clear picture of what he looked like physically, her attention was taken away.
"I haven't received any word of it yet. Would you like me to go and find it?"
Sin glanced in the direction of her guard, Trage before thinking about the question. Of coarse, it would be nice to know where they would be sleeping, however she felt a little bad for asking, as she always did. Though Sin was pretty self sufficient, there was a few things she either couldn't do, or simply didn't like to do.
As she was about to answer, she heard someone on the other side of her burst into laughter, which lasted a good few minutes. She couldn't help but to gaze at him with her bright blue eyes before quickly looking away. She knew exactly who he was. His aura burned like fire around him. It was the prince from the Land of Fire and Electricity. Her eyes then moved to the two guards beside him.
She took a deep breath before turning her attention to her guard yet again, though it was Bujan this time. She gave a warm smile in response to his request, before nodding. "Do as you please." She whispered in a soft voice before looking to Trage again. "It would be nice if we knew where we were to sleep. I'm sure someone might know. Or possibly look on the doors?" She started to look around, however she would not be able to see the doors until she was much closer to them. However, on each door was paper that stated who the room belonged to.
"If you don't mind doing that, then you can do as you please." She added, wondering if Trage was as adventurous as Bujan.

There was two rooms for each nation, and the environment of each room was based on who it belonged to.
The Land of Water and Ice would be a lovely blue/white room of crystal, fountains, and to anyone not from the nation it would seem very cold. However since they thrived in such environment, this would be rather comfy for them.
The Land of Fire and Electricity would be covered in light browns and earthy colors, much like their land. The temperature would be a bit high for most people, but of coarse, they would be used to it.
For the Land of Shadow and Light the room was themed a little differently, since no one really knew that much about either area. The Land of Light, was a room that looked like heaven. The furniture was cloud-like objects that seemed to float while the decorations where of angels and other holy things. However, in the rooms for the Land of Shadows, it was simple. On the ceiling was a painting of the moon and stars, each actually emitting a little light for the room. Everything was cloaked in shadows, however there was plenty of light from the moon to see where you were going. The furniture was a dark cherry wood while the bed and other cloth things were black silk.

Not wanting to become a burden to Bujan yet wanting to help, she just sheepishly smiled and the nodded, jumping up into the air with her umbrella which allowed her to glide and hover over to places while searching. Since it seemed that Bujan wanted to chat with someone else, then it seemed as if she didn't have too much to worry about. She hates seeing it as a competition, but she'es just afraid of the princess no longer needing of her assistance. She looked around while hovering the place, seeing the prince of fire and electricity along with his guard, and the other nations. Eventually, she came across a door that had noted being for the Land of the Shadows, and as Trage opened it, it sure enough had moon and stars on the roof that illuminated the room with dark furniture. She slowly shut the door and hurried back to the princess Sin to report that she had found it. Trage felt eager that she had found it, but calmed down and dropped to the ground onto her feet and with her umbrella still open. After arriving at Sin again, she responded, "I found it. It's just down here, I can show you if you'd like."

β€œIt’s... different,” Armana replied quietly to his question. Ren snorted a bit. Different’s one way of putting it...

β€œThat’s for sure...” he muttered, scrutinizing the other royalty. One face was familiar, only because his father had shown him the woman’s face once before he was sent off. His future wife. Lily? Lyla? Fantastic, he didn’t even know her name. Ren’s father had purposely kept all details about the princess from him, wanting the two to start off with a relatively clean slate. He hadn’t wanted a repeat of what happened two years ago, when his brother had tried to exorcise the poor girl, actually believing the absurd rumors that had found their way into their palace. Ren wasn’t stupid enough to make that mistake.

Judging from where he stood, she didn’t look too bad. Her pale skin seemed strange to Ren, as almost everyone from the Land of Light was tanned. Short black hair, not too tall, not too short, the princess could certainly look much worse. Suddenly, she turned to look at him. Ren quickly turned, back at Armana, his heart fluttering with nerves. Damn it, Artiston, stop acting like a child! he could practically hear his father snarl angrily.

β€œWhat should we do now?” Armana asked, pulling Ren out of his thoughts. He swallowed. They could just go to their rooms, putting off actual communication for at least another hour. But... Ren thought grimly, it’s inevitable. Better man up and just get this over with.

Fidgeting nervously, Ren answered, β€œI suppose we’ll go meet my future wife,” he said with wince. The words seemed bitter in his mouth. β€œJust... stay with me,” he added quietly, in the back of his mind annoyed how his voice came out whinier than he had expected it to. And with that, he headed across the room to where the princess stood, making sure to keep a distance from the others along the way.

He straightened his back as he approached her, trying to look as presentable as he could and still keep his nerves down.

β€œHello,” he said, startled by her almost unnaturally blue eyes but keeping it well hidden. He eyed the two guards behind her warily. He knew not all guards were as laid back as Armana. Some were extremely territorial and viewed everything as a threat. Ren prayed that these two weren’t like that.

β€œI’m Ariston, but you could call me Ren if you prefer because almost everybody else does,” the prince rambled nervously. Well, so much for the formal approach, he thought angrily. Remember to smile, you idiot! He did, hoping it didn’t look to forced.

β€œAnd you’re... you. I apologize, remembering names isn’t my strong suit,” Ren said, his wings fluttering agitatedly behind him. He wasn’t normally this nervous around others...

Abruptly, Ren realized something. The princess’s eyes weren’t actually focused on him. They were in his general direction, yes, but they didn’t meet his eyes. That of course could be just because she was nervous, but Ren knew from observation that wasn’t the normal reaction. Otherwise, it could be...

β€œYou’re blind, aren’t you?” Ren said with a grin. He took a step closer, peering at her intently. He gave a small laugh. Well, isn’t this a coincidence? he thought to himself, thinking about his own sight problems.

Kabal-Abdul "Vincent" Pyragni

"Thats enough Vincent. We dont want to restart the war since its at a momentary peace... I told you the King threatned to send me to the front lines if I let you do anything stupid."

"Ah!" Vincent glared at Misery when she hit him on the back. It didn't hurt, but it wasn't exactly weak, either. The force of it was actually enough to make him take a step forward. "What the hell, Misery?!" He said instinctively, then realized what she said. "Well, it's not like I want to start a war." He scoffed, looking away angrily. "You'd be skeptical too if it was your sister that died..." He mumbled this last bit, half-hoping Misery didn't hear him. He didn't talk about his sister very much. Ever since she died, he avoided it like it was the plague.

"And it will be fun, I mean theres no one here who can force us to wear the stupidly formal clothing."

Instantly distracted, Kabal-Abdul looked at her in surprise. He turned to her, smiling. "You're right, Misery! Isn't that great~? No stuffy, boring clothes!" He laughed a little.

"You have to help me undo my hair!"

Vincent looked over at Misery, stepping behind her. "Well, in that case, here ya go!" He said happily. With one swift motion, he pulled out the pin holding her hair together, letting it fall down. "Doesn't that feel better?" He stepped out from behind to face her, smiling again. However, his smile instantly faded when her face went blank, speaking in that toneless 'guard' voice he hated.

"Sorry for treating you like a friend and disgracing you infront of the other royalty."

He scowled at her, then stepped back. Half-glaring and half-looking disappointed, he just shook his head. He turned away from her, offended. "Then stop acting like one, if you feel like that." He said in a rather cold, angry tone, so much different than he had spoken just a few moments ago. "Well, since I'm in such a great mood now, I think I'll say hello to my future wife. Excuse me, guard." Without another word, he walked away from her.

He sauntered confidently over to where the Princess of Water and Ice stood, but stopped a few steps away. He took the moment to look her over, not caring if he looked like he was judging her or not. To be honest, although she was very pretty, she looked scared to him. Her cheeks were flushed like she had a fever or something, and her eyes showed emotion in them. So this is it. Already becoming impatient, he got closer to her, but not too close.

"The name's Vincent." He said abruptly to her, immediately discarding any sense of formality. He still had a rather angry look on his face, although he wasn't mad at the princess at the moment. "I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but it's not." Vincent's voice mirrored the look on his face as he remembered what happened to his sister, "In fact, I think I'd rather kill you than anything." Vincent full-on glared at her, unable to keep his composure. He leaned in, just a little bit, unconsciously. "But I'm not like your kind. I think you'll find that people from the land of fire and electricity are actually honorable, and keep their word." He said this last part at almost a whisper, his voice full of emotion. Still giving her a condescending glare, he stepped away from her.

He turned and walked away, calling over his shoulder, "I'm sure I'll see you around, whenever you're not trying to kill me." With that last remark, he went over to the doors of the rooms. When he found his, he went inside and closed the door. He didn't bother to lock it.

Taking a look around the room, he was distracted by how, well....homely it was. It was even warm, just like his homeland. This calmed him quite a bit, but it also made him a little homesick. He went over to the bed and sat down on it, rubbing his forehead. Was this how his sister had felt, when she was here? Homesick, scared, and unsure of the future? Vincent reached into his clothes, pulling out a small picture from a hidden pocket. On it was a beautiful red-headed girl, who didn't really look much different from Vincent. Looking at it, he sighed, then put it back away after a moment.

Misery

Playing with Her hair Misery looked sad when he walked away, following quitly she sighed and watched the guards of the Water nations princess carfully but her eyes showed the full force of her pain at Vincent being angry with her. When he entered his room she closed the door behind her for a and leaned agianst it. Ignoring him looking at the picture she waited for him to put it away before talking."Im sorry, You know me I have to prove that your father made the right chose by allowing me to stay with you on this trip, I mean look at me Vincent Im more then a foot shorter then you, Im at least five inches smaller then anyone. I dont want to disgrace anyone. Im sorry I acted like that, Im your friend and your my only one please dont be angry..." She whispered to him, her blank guard look had been ripped away and her emotions where raw on her face.

Vincent would know that her letting even him see her truly raw emotional state was rare and it was her way of letting him know she really was sorry. "Im going to go now, Maybe go see if I can fix the mess you made...I wont let anything happen I promise, if I lie may my life be forefit." the last sentence was the same thing she said everytime she left his room, it was a tradition of sorts. Padding lightly out to the main room she looked around, she let her eyes linger on the Prince of Light...She believed his name was Ariston. Looking around she found the Ice Princess she seemed to have lingered.

"Princess Aria, please excuse My Prince...Umm... Wow...Im short" She mumbled the last part to herself. "I really have nothing else to say but he wont kill you, he couldnt no matter how much he wishes he is just to nice and I wont let him... I will leave you now... Thank you for your time." during her small speech her blank look had opened up alittle do you could see the thoughtful look on her face. Misery spun on heel after looking up at her to guards and the was a competive glint in her eyes, she wanted to try to best one because to her it would be the best way to know if she was as good as she thought she was.

Jackal

Jackal had laughed at his Princess's comment about flirting, Eyeing Fala he smirked he was willing to bet Fala would end up flirting with one or more of the girls weather Princess or guard. When he saw the Prince of Fire charge over after what appeared to be an arguement with his guard he tensed but didnt stand infront of her, he wasnt a threat yet. WHen the Prince went on his rant to Aria Jackal raised his eye brows but found himself watching the guard, she was tensed and expectiong but there was suc sadness on her face that he felt for her, he was her friend and she hurt because she hurt him. Sighing he stepped closer to Aira at the mention of killing but the Prince, Vincent, Soon turned away followed by his depreassed guard.

"That was interesting wasnt it?" He said softly and it wasnt more then five minutes when he saw the guard return and
aplogise for her Prince. He smirked at her mumbled comment about being short before he pulled his face into a blank mask, he was intrigued by her but he looked up to see the Princess of Shadows talking to the Prince of Light and he looked at them with intruge, he wanted to know how their relationship was going.

(I added Armana on accident.)

As Aria's eyes fell on the prince she saw him say something to his guard before beginning to stride towards her.

Instantly, Aria began to panic internally. Just because she didn't appreciate strong emotional displays and tried her best to keep her own hidden, it didn't mean she felt nothing internally. She fought to keep the panic off her face, it was the last thing she needed. She was frozen to the spot as he approached and she felt her cheeks, already warm from the unnatural temperatures, heat up even more. She was being put on the spot. She intended to plan her first meeting with her 'husband-to-be'. She'd intended to create a speech inside her head, introducing herself and making it clear this was the last thing she wanted, to be delivered in a calm, controlled manner. But suddenly he was a mere few steps from her and about to speak with no chance for her to even take in his appearance, let alone work out, from a distance, what kind of person he was from the way he acted.

His confident steps stopped just a few paces away from her. She felt his eyes on her, looking her up and down, taking her in. She used this brief moment to absorbed his appearance too. The first thing that struck her about him was how tall he was. He towered over her, almost dauntingly. He had deep red hair, his bangs round his face and a single, long plait coming out of the back of his head that fell well past his shoulders. His eyes were a deep blue and Aria found herself strangely taken in by them. His skin was tanned and his body muscular. But none of this was going to tell her what kind of person he was. Her body tensed in what she hoped was a poised way, although she doubted it, as he took a few steps closer to her. Well, it looked like she was about to find out just what kind of person he really was.

he glared at her angrily, his gaze condescending. "The name's Vincent." His tone was abrupt and lacking the usual formality she expected from an initial meeting.

"Aria," she managed to get out before he carried on.

"I would say it's a pleasure to meet you, but it's not. In fact, I think I'd rather kill you than anything." Aria swallowed hard, glancing slightly to her side to make sure her guards were still there.

He leaned in towards her slightly. Aria held her body still, poised, resisting the urge to flinch and cower back. "But I'm not like your kind. I think you'll find that people from the land of fire and electricity are actually honorable, and keep their word." His voice dropped to near a whisper. Despite the heat in the room, his cruel whisper made her shiver very slightly. His emotion-filled tone made her uneasy. She hated big displays of emotion. Of course, he was referring to her brother. And his dead sister...

To Aria's relief he stepped away from her and turned to walk away.

"I'm sure I'll see you around, whenever you're not trying to kill me," he threw back at her, over his shoulder. His actions had thrown her usual, formal approach to the wall. She no longer knew how to react

Aria stood angelically still, not moving a muscle until his door was firmly shut. She stood for nearly a minute, motionless before his guard approached her.

"Princess Aria, please excuse My Prince... Umm... Wow... I'm short," she trailed off, Aria was unable to catch the last part as she had mumbled it to herself. She carried on, "I really have nothing else to say but he wont kill you, he couldnt no matter how much he wishes he is just to nice and I wont let him... I will leave you now... Thank you for your time."

Aria nodded very calmly before replying emotionlessly, "Thank you."

Then, instantly her body came to life. She strode calmly across the large room, locating the door to her own room and stepping inside.

She took in deep lungfuls of the cool air that flowed throughout the room. She instantly felt the redness in her cheeks dissipating as her body cooled down. She was unsure as to what had become of her guards, but she imagined they would follow soon enough. Glancing around, she took in her surroundings. Even she had to admit, the room was beautiful. It was decked out in blues and whites, like her home. Crystals decorated it, scattered around so the bluey white lights danced and reflected off them prettily, creating a stunning sparkly effect around the room, much like the ice crystals in fleshly fallen snow that she loved so much. A large fountain gushed gently in the centre of the room. She dipped her fingertips into the water, letting the cool water trickle calmly over and between her fingers. She wiggled her fingers slightly, causing the thinnest sheet of ice to form a small circle round her fingers. She lifted them away, watching the tiny sheet of ice float in the fountain, shrinking as it gradually melted. Soon enough it was invisible, faded before her very eyes.

Sin stood with her hands at her side while hearing both her guards leave. For a second she couldn't help but to wonder if it was a good idea to have both of her guards absent from her side at the same time, however she dismissed the thought. Why should anyone trust her, if she was not going to trust them?

It wasn't long before Trage was back at her side. Sin greeted her with a small smile as she listened to her words. As she was about to answer, she heard someone walking up to the two of them.

Quickly she turned around, though she was surprised to see the prince of Light and his guard walking towards her.β€œHello,” He greeted her politely. She gave a small smile before bowing her head. "Hello." She replied before turning to Trage quickly. "Would you excuse us please." She said to her guard before adding. "I will find you once I am done here." With that, she turned back to the Prince.

As he spoke, she could tell he was nervous. His aura seemed to change shades back and forth, as it too seemed to be unsure of what to do. She couldn't help but to give a small smile as she stared at him. However, as she tried to focus on his aura, she began to see his physical features.

He was taller then her by a good bit, though this wasn't surprising at all. Most men were taller then her. His hair looked brown at first, however as her vision focused more, she could tell it was more of a dirty blonde color and cut short. His eyes were difficult to make out but just before he asked a question, she noticed they were a odd green. β€œYou’re blind, aren’t you?”

Sin gave another small smile before nodding her head. "My name is Lyla LaFay, however most simply call me Sin." She replied, almost laughing at her nickname. "Its nice to meet you Prince Ren, and yes I am technically blind. However," She paused for a moment as her eyes moved to meet his, now more focused then before. "If I try hard enough, I can see you perfectly. Also, I can see things about you that others don't see." She finished, still holding a slight smile.

Bujan walked towards the wolf, dog looking man. He paused a moment as the prince of Fire and Electricity was talking with the princess of Water and Ice. The relationship, from what he could hear, did not seem to be on great terms. Those two nations didn't have the petty problems the Shadow and Light nations had, some of them must be hard to over look. Perhaps they would benefit the most in marriage. To create a bond that would cause all past problems to be overlooked.

He would have to put off the chat with the dog man, he won't want to leave his post after that encounter. So, looking around, he looked for other intriguing persons to learn more about. The prince of Fire and Electricity was one of the few options, and his less than frightening guard. Or go back to the others.

Looking back, a woman caught his eye. The guard for the prince of Light. Such stunning radiance, but that seemed to be just about everything. The light shone brightly, which hurt his eyes, and made everything else nearly blinding.

No other option seemed better than this. So with confident steps he went back to the Shadow and Light gathering.

Within normal speaking distance, he said to the guard, "I like to make bets, do you?" He didn't wait for a response, "So how about you and I make one? If this marriage between our nations goes through then we get married also. If it doesn't... well, you can make that one up. It can be anything you want, money, property, whatever you want and I will have to give it to you." The ol' gambling proposition, most of the time he is just rubbed off or he loses, but there is always that chance that he could win and one simple word: jackpot.

Trage nodded again at the princess's request. Hovering back over to the room that was set for them, she opened the door and then closed it behind her quickly. Walking now, Trage gave herself a tour of the room while examining and studying everything. It was so calm and relaxing, which was the type of demeanor Trage likes to give off to people, or so she thinks.

With her closed umbrella over her shoulder, she sat down on a black, silky sofa that she had to promise to herself that it wasn't the princess's bed that she was sitting on. While sitting upon the sofa, Trage began thinking to herself. I've realized everyone, or most, has their own lovers, crushes, people to wed... Which may have shown a slight hint of jealousy since all of the acts Trage does makes her appear emotionless and calm, though she's actually a normal person as well.

Kabal-Abdul "Vincent" Pyragni

"Im sorry, You know me, I have to prove that your father made the right chose by allowing me to stay with you on this trip, I mean look at me Vincent Im more then a foot shorter then you, Im at least five inches smaller then anyone. I dont want to disgrace anyone. Im sorry I acted like that, Im your friend and your my only one please dont be angry..."

"Im going to go now, Maybe go see if I can fix the mess you made...I wont let anything happen I promise, if I lie may my life be forefit."

Still angry at her, just a bit, he ignored her. When Misery left the room, he sighed again. He knew she was sorry, her emotional behavior made that all too clear, but he just hated how she always seemed to think she had to choose between being a guard and being his friend. Couldn't she be both? What was so bad about being his friend, anyway?

Vincent reached back, pulling his braid in front of him. He took out the band at the end and loosened his hair, letting his flow freely around his shoulders. Without being braided, it was uncommonly long, especially for someone from the land of fire and electricity. Since it was very hot there, most people kept their hair short to keep their necks cool. Vincent's hair, unbraided, was long enough to reach just past his waist.

Although it was troublesome and annoying to leave it unbraided, he did it any way because if he shifted while it was still braided it would knot his tiger's fur quite painfully. He stood up from the bed, walked over to the door. He opened it just the tiniest bit, just enough so that a cat would be able to paw it open, but not enough to where people could see in. Then, he stepped away and undressed, folding his clothes neatly. Once he was done, he shifted into his tiger form; a beautiful, albeit strange-looking, black tiger with crystal blue eyes. Shaking his fur, he stretched, and then went over to the door. He pawed it open and padded out, looking both ways.

Which way to go? Luckily, since he didn't know the area very well, the Land of Peace was a great place to explore. He choose a random direction, looking every which way as he went.

However, something quickly caught the corner of his eye. Stopping mid-step, he turned to look at what it was. It was a room, with the door half-open. Inside was the most beautiful room he had ever seen, decorated with crystals and a fountain in the center. It seemed to be decorated in shades of white and blue, and it just seemed so interesting to Vincent that curiousity got the better of him. He padded over to the door, nuzzled it open a little wider, and peeked his head inside. He was most intrigued by the fountain. It was just so....pretty. Yes, he was completely distracted by the sparkling lights dancing on it from the crystals.

Once again acting purely on impulse, he entered the room. He was so taken in by the sparkling effect in the room and the fountain that he failed to notice the princess of ice and water standing right there. Literally, right there at the fountain, where he padded over and placed his front paws on the side of it. He leaned over, trying to get a good look at the water. It didn't register in his mind that he was right next to her. He just wanted to know what the water looked like.

Shivering from the cold air in the room, Vincent was not disappointed. The water was both clear and crisp, as he was pleased to find when he dipped his nose in the water for a brief moment. His tail swished in pleasure. Where he came from, clear water was actually pretty hard to come by.

First Impressions is what counts....well, that is what is commonly said, but that all depending when, where, and who, since some people find putting their message across easier than others. For Fala, he says how he feels and likes to lighten up the mood, which explains his little comical remarks. It seemed to him that he wasn't the only one that saw the situational comical when he saw one of them burst out laughing, which instantly brought Fala's attention, and it seemed the one laughing was one of the royalty, the Prince of Fire and Electricity, by how he and the female beside him reacted and his fiery red hair. Though unlike Fala, he saw that the Prince meant his comical remark more than him.

His attention then fell back to those of his own, as Jackal commented how he wished to shift and how tense it was, which he completely agreed with. It was tense with all the other Kingdoms round them, not to mention the burden of their Kingdoms on their shoulder, and their duty to defend the Princess, unsure which would be friend or foe with the different nations and their guards. The important thing was, that they stook together.

The problem with fur, was that it heated you up, so you were more accustomed and more comfortable in cooler, colder environments, though being able to shift into their animal form gave them more strength. Glancing round, it seemed he was the only one. No, there was another it seemed, as he saw a man in the distance with wings upon his back, just as he had his ears and tails showing in his human form also. Least he was not alone in that sense. With the wings on his back, and how he stood, he must be the royalty which meant he must be the Prince of Light.

However, it was not the Kingdom of Light he was concerned about just now, as Jackal brought him back from his glance, "The Prince of Fire...His guard appears to have a friendship with him, maybe we can get information from her. Well when I say we, I mean you because you are better at flirting then me", as Jackal laughed and Fala chuckled, "Don't say too loud or I'll lose my touch", as his tail came up and brushed against his hand, before falling back down.

However, the "flirting" would have to wait, since he had his work to do, as Aria then spoke, "No one is flirting with anyone...Don't trust any of them. Let's just go to our rooms...", in which Fala responded with a nod ready to go, before turning back to his casual smile, and catching Jackal's smirk, before they were all approached by the Prince of Fire, and like Jackal, he remained at hand ready to pounce in if he tried anything and stepped forwards even closer when he saw Aria's head tilt to show he was there for her. The Prince of Fire sure was fired up, ironically, yet somehow he had the feeling that he sort of enjoyed his little dig at Aria, until he retreated and his guard came back to apologise.

He admired how she had returned to apologise on her Prince's behalf, before she turned to leave after Aria thanked her and then left. With the guard of the Prince of Fire left, all that was left was him and Jackal, as he noticed how he was looking towards the Light and Shadow nations which seemed to be talking nicely, though unlike them, there was not a murder involved.

The last order Aria had given was that they'd be no flirting and not to trust anyone before entering their chambers. If he could not flirt, and with the tensions growing, it all fell back to his duty being more needed than ever since the commotion which no doubt was noticed by all now. He then went to Jackal's side and said quietly to him, "Sure seems brighter over there....", he commented as he took a pause, "....We'll do some digging later. Aria will no doubt be waiting for us", as the corners of his mouth tugged and a smile appeared as his right hand held onto Jackal's left shoulder, before heading towards their room.

Once Aria was settled, she might let them roam a bit, since the best way to know others was to get to know them, and avoiding them wasn't getting no knowledge at all, but he would take her words onboard, that none could be trusted. He only hoped these arrangements by the Council would be alot more better than the last time. Fortunately for Aria, she had him by her side, and the thing about wolves was that they had heightened senses and seeing as his human form was not fully human but part wolves, his senses were often always on the go, so if anything dared happen, he'd immediately leap into action, though he hoped it would not.

Aria stroked the water gently again. The circular motion of her finger created a tiny swirl of ice on the water's surface. It was so delicate. The tiniest touch could snap it's tiny, fragile frame. It floated gently on the water's surface, bobbing slowly on the edge of the fountain where the waters were calm. It twirled in a tiny circle within the miniature current she had created, using her finger. It glistened like the crystals adorning the room, reflecting the light just like them. She could see a the faint blue of the water underneath it, giving the tiny piece of ice a strange, ethereal glow. She was so captivated by what she had created that she didn't notice a presence in the room until the water rippled dangerously, an indication that someone had touched it.

After that, everything happened in a second. Startled and panicking, Aria froze the whole fountain with a thick sheet of ice, trapping whatever had touched it within it. She transformed, in an instant, into a huge, white wolf. Pure white fur rippled across her muscular wolf body. A low, hostile growl ripped from her throat and she spun to face her potential assailant. Her strong body was drawn backwards onto her powerful hind legs, in preparation to pounce and a sparkling row of sharp white teeth were bared.

Kabal-Abdul "Vincent" Pyragni

When the water froze, Vincent's tiger nose got stuck in it. The water had felt great, albeit cold, until the shards of ice cut into the sensitive parts of his nose. His eyes got a little watery from the pain, as he was stuck there, gently trying to pull himself out. His tail swished in agitation. What is it with fountains? Do they always randomly freeze like this? Damn thing!

Then he heard it. The low, hostile growl from the other side of the room. Out of the corner of his eye he could see a beautiful white wolf. Or, well, it would have been beautiful, if the huge thing didn't look like it was going to rip his throat out.

Wait, what the..? Oooh, I get it. That wolf must be.....

Finally realizing just what was going on, the black tiger slammed a paw on the ice, trying to free himself. However, the ice was so thick that it didn't do a thing.

AH SHIT. I'M IN THE PRINCESS'S ROOM! Ok, ok, it's okay. I'll just transform, melt the ice with a little fire, then transform again and be on my way. Wait, no, then I'd be naked! I can't do that! Fuck!

Alright, alright, just act cool. Be cool. This isn't bothering you, you're not freaked out, and you sure as hell aren't going to die.
