AHSC Reverence II Commitment and Patience

All was silent aboard the Aschen flagship Harbinger of Piety, that was until an unknown fleet was picked up by long range sensors, whispers near the edges of the Sol system. These blips were detected as several out-stretched Icons and whispers on the holographic display. The ship's AI, chimed in it's warning, and the Admiral was almost immediately summoned to the ship's CIC.

"Admiral..." Lieutenant Vega reported with a salute, as the AI Was ticking off information, warp anomalies in addition to ship movements. "We have unidentified fleet movements on the outer fringes of the system. They came and they went, whispers and anomalies." He said, and the Admiral nodded slightly, sprawling her hands out across the sleek metallic surface of the console. "Bring us to Condition one..." She ordered calmly.

The order was relayed, and a single Lieutenant stationed in the Navigation station brought the PA online with a high pitched whine.

"Attention all hands, attention all ships, action stations, action stations, set condition one, throughout the fleet, this is not a drill. I repeat... action stations, action stations. Set condition one, throughout the fleet this is not a drill."

The Admiral remained silent for a few moments. "Bring us into combat formation, weapons hot. Prepare to send hostile challenge and ID." She ordered calmly, and the order was carried out, as massive engines from all types of Aschen warships, logistical vessels, and tactical vessels engaged, pushing the fleet into formation towards the blue-green orb that was Terra.

"Defensive formation and positions, prepare to engage unknown fleet." Whitcomb ordered once more, as the Aschen fleet spread out into a broad crescent shape, spanning hundreds of thousands of kilometers in breadth.

A Single hail broadcast from the heart of the Aschen fleet into deep space towards the approaching vessels, a crisp authoritative voice playing on anyone who would listen;

Attention unknown vessels, this is the Aschen Imperial Reverence II, Harbinger of Piety, attached to the Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity, Imperial Sol System Command. You are operating in restricted space, identify yourselves or we will fire upon you.

Elisha Whitcomb sipped her drink as she watched the happenings going on in the bar, The woman had to come here to the infamous Gambit's bar herself, after-all she had heard the rumors about the place. and so she sat and watched the comings of the various patrons in the bar. "A giant snowman, people who claim to be demons... all in a day's work." She said, bringing an emerald green, anise scented beverage to her lips.

Elisha Whitcomb shrugged slightly. "Eh, beats the cantina of the Piety." She commented, leaning back in her chair and smoothing down her dark blue uniform.

Suddenly the chaos and the commotion of the bar was split asunder by the sound of a deafening roar. The ground seemed to shake and buildings listed under the gravitic force of a massive entity.

The light to the sun was also suddenly blotted out, cast into shade by a massive 3 mile long vessel, a very familiar Reverence class Planetary Assault Carrier cast it's shadow over this portion of Wing City.

"Attention all Tech Con and CPF Forces, this is Admiral Whitcomb of the Reverence 'Executioner' We are on station and ready to provide support and transit prisoners." The Female voice played out over all the Aschen radios.

As the ship settled into position above the city, a column of violet light emerged fourth from the bowels of the vessel, and the ground continued to shake and vibrate.

"Black Hand, Executioner.. We have this under control."

Elisha Whitcomb watched the vehicle move through the blockade of Cars. She eyed the flickering holographic screen before she turned to the AI. "This is going to spiral out of control fast." She said, nodding. "Bring us to combat ready stations. That man down there. We're going to need some heavy artillery to handle him." She said, rubbing her forehead.

"Forward turbo-disruptors online, Target those two men. Try to get a precision shot." The Admiral said, pulling several holographic icons while the two men were being brought to the Reverence's Gravity well.

"There's too many bystanders here." She muttered, as the AI Chimed in.

"Forward emplacements are online."

Elisha Whitcomb growled as the Reverence listed slightly under the maelstrom of wind. "Too many people down there! We can't get a clear shot!" She then turned to the AI. "Let's get a warning in, Power up the energy projector!"

The Reverence positioned itself, and the massive energy projector began to power up, filling the air with Ozone and static energy. Anyone familiar with Aschen tactics knew what was about to happen. But they didn't know it was a bluff.

The Reverence continued to power up, but the Admiral's attention was quickly diverted to something directly above the ship. "Unidentified Object, Seems to be causing the wind." Whitcomb nodded. "Take it down." She ordered, and the Reverence positioned itself slightly, and then it unleashed two blinding pulses of light, massive turbo-disruptor bolts that seared towards the Dragon with precision accuracy.

Should the bolt make it's impact, the Dragon would be instantly reduced to molten slag and ash, as the massive Turbo-Disruptor bolt would have likely gone through it's target, and up into the sky. And at close range, there was likely no way it could avoid the precisely targeted shot.

Elisha Whitcomb growled as she watched Renegade try to escape into the Side Alley on the feed. "Oh no you don't." She said, bringing up the Targeting vector. "You're mine." She said, nodding. "Fire at the buildings in that alleyway, cut him off." She ordered, and the Turbo-disruptor emplacement on the bottom of the ship swiveled on it's mark, and opened fire.

There was a sudden shockwave, and a brilliant pulse of green light which seared towards the Side Alley, impacting the walls and causing a pile of rubble to descend into the Alley and cut Renegade off, Cutting him off as the CPF Closed in on a wide crescent.

Immediately the Reverence's Point Defense systems locked onto the Javelin rocket, and the AI opened fire, sending two brilliant green bolts of Turbo-disruptor light directly towards Thor's position. Each bolt capable of liquefying Concrete and metal alike, and Thor would likely be vaporized if he couldn't find cover from this monster of a ship.

Aisu on the other hand would be surrounded by CPF Personnel, slowly they moved in and demanded his surrender.

Elisha Whitcomb appeared before Wraith and the others in a brilliant flash of light, slightly behind the lines of CPF Officers and Tech Con Mercenaries.

Whitcomb held her hands out as she moved through their lines. "You can end this, right here, right now." She said, her boots clunking on the concrete below her.

"Admiral!" An Officer shouted, as the CPF Officer approached Wraith. "We don't have to go to war here, but I can't have your organization targeting Imperial Citizens." She said, approaching.

"Here is my proposal, We release you, and call off this hunt, In turn you never harm another Aschen again." She called out.

There was a sudden deafening roar, and the Reverence pulled up into the skies, and then it began to accelerate away, her massive engines pushing her into orbit, while the CPF Got back in what vehicles they had left, and began to clear out, leaving destruction and debris in their wake.

Elisha Whitcomb chuckled overhearing Andrew from the shadows. "Endangered animal? That's rich." She said, stepping into the light, the woman's raven hair falling on her dark blue single breasted uniform. "We try to protect our own, that's what happened. Some heretics tried to harm our citizens." She said, extending a hand out to the explorer.

"I'm Admiral Whitcomb, of the Second Fleet of Homogeneous Clarity. I am with the United Aschen Empire." She said, nodding to Jayden. "I'm suprised that the Militia didn't intervene on our operation. Usually the Terrans are the first to try and screw with us. Hopefully that will put an end to hostilities with that rebel group."

Elisha Whitcomb thought for a moment. "We control thousands of worlds, we maintain our own economy and there are restrictions on foreign trade, so we do not typically export or import." She said, smoothing down her uniform. "We have a large and powerful military, where our vessels and our soldiers are second to none." She said, pridefully.

"Our medical technology is second to none as well, In fact, we have the technology capable of cheating death itself."

Elisha Whitcomb shook her head. "Magical potential? We seek to eradicate magic in all it's forms. And yes, we do have the technology to cross dimensional threshholds, but we choose not to, Never know what lies beyond reality." Whitcomb explained.

The Loud engines seemed to drone down to a dull roar, but the Reverence was there clear as day. Several beams of light shining down into the countryside, where pre-fabricated landing bases were deployed along with infantry which could be seen moving through the countryside, detailed by the bobbing and weaving of bright blue-white flashlights.

ITN Hiraikotsu (飛来骨)
Yamato Class Battleship
Flagship of the 105th Imperial Task Force
Commandant Kenji Asuka

"Watch those Battlestars!" The Commandant ordered as the Taiyou Yamato class ship banked a hard right. Flurries of disruptor fire streaked across the bridge view-port in brilliant flashes of green. The Yamato class banked a hard right through Terra's high orbit, flanked on either side by a trio of Naginata cruisers. A few more streaks of green signaled the end of one of the ships. The Commandant on the other hand was unfazed, grasping the railing he issued the next set of orders.

"All hands twenty degrees port, main batteries open fire! Target that Reverence!" He called out, as the singled out Aschen PAC was lined up for a broadside with the Taiyou ship. However the Yamato didn't dish out it's pain before it took it's share of hits, bucking and rocking violently to incoming disruptor fire, brilliant plumes of green-yellow erupted from the boat-like hull of the ship as it, and the Reverence exchanged weapons fire.

"Kojima Maru, loop around wide and hit that Reverence with forward Torpedoes." The Commandant ordered, the single Naginata flanked on the right engaged it's engines, and unleashed a powerful salvo of nuclear armed torpedoes, which danced on the shields of the Reverence in two brilliant flashes of light, but the Aschen ship's shields did not waver, in fact it unleashed yet another punishing salvo into the port side of the Hiraikotsu.

"Damn..." The Commandant growled as sparks began to fly. "Main batteries open fire!" He ordered, and the two massive gun turrets on the deck loosed their nuclear ordinance, hurling a salvo of Anti-ship shells with initially danced on the shields in brilliant explosions, but a third passed through and rocked the Reverence with a plume of nuclear fire, pushing the two ships apart as the shields of the Aschen vessel rippled and eventually collapsed.

"Commandant! Shields are down!" A Lieutenant reported.

"Excellent! Prepare the second volley! Be Quick!"

The Yamato class ship then loosed the next volley, sending anti-capital ship explosive shells hurling into the back of the Aschen Reverence, snapping the ship in two and affording this particular Taiyou group a lull in the fighting.

"Aschen Reverence Neutralized, Commandant." The Lieutenant reported. "Additionally we have unknown contacts, no Taiyou or Aschen IFF Reported." He added, and the Commandant growled. "Bring us about, move back into formation and link up with the Gunkan." He ordered, bringing the fleet formation about over Terra.

ITN Nagato (長門)
Yamato II Class Battleship
Flagship of the 1st Imperial Armada
100,000 Task Forces, 1,000,000 Combat ready Taiyou vessels scattered around Sol engaged with Aschen ships.
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

"Sir! Our fleets have routed the Aschen Task force! We're pressing to Terra itself!" The Executor of the Imperial Armada, Jyunichi Kuwabara reported, as he smoothed down the snow white uniform, Admiral Yamamoto rising to his feet behind him. "We have some unknown contacts being reported by the fleet, open up a channel and find out why they're in our Operational area, Verify Aschen, if they're Aschen, detach two groups to cut them off, and then destroy them."

Kuwabara nodded and opened up a channel, which was broadcast to the unknown fleet that had just warped into the system.

The Voice was heavily accented, but the communication crisp.

Attention unknown vessels, this is the Flagship Nagato, of the Imperial Taiyou Navy's 1st Imperial Armada, you are hereby warned and ordered identify yourselves and state your intent, or we will divert resources to engage and destroy your vessels. You have five minutes to respond.

The message was sent, and the crew of the Nagato waited with bated breath.

AHSC Reverence II 'Clarity of Faith'
Flagship of the Third Fleet of Glorious Consequence
Admiral Joshua Steele

"We can't keep taking these losses, Admiral.." An Advisor reported as the Admiral watched a series of red holographic ships along a large representation of Terra. "What are our odds?" He said, looking up to the advisor.

"We need to take this fighting groundside if we're going to have any chance against the Taiyou. If we can hide among the Terrans and use the Planet to our advantage, we can take them out. But we're out in the open up here, and the Taiyou have us outnumbered 100 to one." He reported, and the Admiral nodded.

"We need to hold out long enough for reinforcements, what survived the Taiyou bombing of Tal'dor Anchorage." He said, and a Lieutenant interrupted their strategizing with an outburst.

"DRADIS Contact! Unknown fleet, Three nine seven carom two one three!" He called out, turning around. "Unknown IFF, they're not us and they're not Taiyou!"

Steele nodded. "Maybe they can be allies in a pinch, open a channel."

The Lieutenant nodded.

"This is Admiral Steele of the Aschen Imperial Ship, Clarity of Faith, we are under attack and taking heavy losses, and would appreciate any assistance you can offer us! I have wounded on board and my fleet is outnumbered, please help us defend this world against these invaders!"

Steele growled a moment. "ETA on those reinforcements?"

The Lieutenant shook his head. "A Centar at best..."

#, as written by Remæus
Hold formation, defense pattern echo bravo!
Stark repeated as the battle erupted. He stared out at the view before him; the Aschen and the Taiyou were locked in battle in orbit over Terra, and munitions were being slung haphazardly between the vessels.

Combat in space was a funny thing, with the limitless degrees of dimensional freedom being governed by the gravitational pull of massive objects like planets, stars, and kilometer-scale vessels. Predictable orbits relied on mass and velocity, traditional interplanetary travel governed by the state of planetary orbits, and interstellar travel bound by safe lanes of travel through the minefield of gravitational pull and stellar radiation. This lent itself to a wide array of tactics that held their effectiveness through the thousands of years of technological advancement, and this dangerous day would be no exception.

Tac-op, relays orders to prepare the MS for launch. We're going to need their support if this turns sour. How long until the Arks can deploy?

Stark was incredibly surprised at how quickly the battle had begun after the fleet's arrival. He had heard much about the irrationally aggressive militaries that were constantly battling for control over this backwater planet, but he hadn't expected the arrival of a simple transport fleet to be the catalyst of such an epic battle.

Oijanen reports zero three niner, Hentogaira reports ready, and Akhrad reports two seven seconds, sir.
came the response. The result was a sparkle in Stark's eye; the training maneuvers they'd run for the months prior to this operation had paid off, with record time from arrival to systems preparation. He was proud of his crew.

Excellent. Open a channel in response to Nagato.
Stark wasn't about to let some squabble over this backwater jeopardize his mission. The delivery would be completed.

Nagato, this is Deliverance of the 1st SOL Commercial Defense Fleet. We are on a peaceful mission, but are well prepared to match any hostility. Best of luck, over.

Stark's amusing commentary spoke for itself. He had entered the system with full preparedness, and had anticipated interference from the two dominant forces in the region. His previous orders had positioned his elements to deal with this possibility, and now—now—this possibility had become the very real tactical upper hand.

Signal to the Caladbolg to arm weapons and hold at the Lagrangian points. If they...
he paused. Stark stared out at the warring fleets and studied. A great many things could be said about the nature of a man's behavior in the heat of battle.

More than one head turned at Stark's hesitance.

If they aggress, we'll proceed as planned.
Stark said, frowning. He was not pleased about this becoming the massacre it was appearing to have the propensity to be. The maneuvers of the fleets ahead were indicative of massive potential for orbital loss, but perhaps these fleet commanders had not previously experienced or otherwise been aware of the threats that his specialized escort were bringing to the table.

Stark hoped, almost desperately, for the preservation of life in whichever of the few outcomes this engagement would have.
