Kelly and Danielle had been inseparable sisters all throughout their teenage years, but time and distance change people. Danielle married young, and Kelly went off to a University out of state. The two sisters, overtime, had lost what they had between them. It was perhaps once per year when they called each other, both of their parents having passed away when Kelly was 20 and Danielle was 22. By the time Kelly hit 29, she hasn't heard from Danielle for three years.
What brings the two sisters back together is Kelly's want to change the direction her life was heading, and it was towards the gutter. Danielle has always wanted to have children with her husband, but she has been unsuccessful in doing so. While Kelly had two daughters already, Angela and Christine; Angela 8 years old and Christine 5. Kelly has decided to give her sister the gift of a child by being the surrogate mother. A surrogate mother is implanted with a fertilized egg, in this case her sister's fertilized egg(of course, by her husband), and allow it to grow inside her.
Perhaps it will tighten the bond between Kelly and Danielle, an idea and gift so perfect and selfless, but Kelly is simply devastated that her sister's marriage is falling apart and in such a rate that they are already considering divorce right after Christmas.
Kelly, and her daughters swoop in out of hiding to try and fix this, to try her best to get her sister back in her life, after all, she has never seen her nieces.
But in the meantime, Kelly catches the eye of the husband's best friend and co-worker. While new love blooms, old love is replenished by Christmas time and family.
