Elena walked out the doors and the first thing she saw was the trevi fountain. When she saw it, memories flashed through her mind.
Elena ran around the fountain, a man chasing after her, but not in a bad way. She smiled. Suddenly she stopped, the smile on her face disappearing. The man who stood in front of her was someone she was afraid of. The man who'd been chasing her walked up next to her. "Damon." He said. Elena turned, but couldnt make out his face.
Elena's eyes snapped open. She stood there, looking at the fountain.
Elena ran around the fountain, a man chasing after her, but not in a bad way. She smiled. Suddenly she stopped, the smile on her face disappearing. The man who stood in front of her was someone she was afraid of. The man who'd been chasing her walked up next to her. "Damon." He said. Elena turned, but couldnt make out his face.

Matthew watched Elena as she stopped at the fountain. Something about it seemed familiar to him, but more so for Elena. He then noticed an old building at the side by the fountain. Matthew walked over to the abandoned building. He thought he heard something, and turned around. He didn't see anything, and turned back to the door, opening it. Just then he saw a skeleton with a wooden stake right where the heart would be pinned to a column in the middle of the room. The room itself had all sorts of boxes. He went over and looked at the stake.
He turned around, and thats when he saw a short glimpse. He had run in here with a crossbow. A vampire was right behind him. He was going to tell Elena/Katrina something. Just then the vampire caught up to him, but he managed to surprise it with his crossbow and kill it. And he said softly "Idiot vampire".
Matthew looked back to Elena, seeing if she was still looking around. Thats when he noticed something on the ground. It was a note with the numbers 3, 7, and 4. Matthew put it in his pocket and went back to Elena and Vanessa.

He turned around, and thats when he saw a short glimpse. He had run in here with a crossbow. A vampire was right behind him. He was going to tell Elena/Katrina something. Elena looked at Matthew. "I remember something about this place. I saw someone, in a memory. But I couldnt make out the face." She looked back at the fountain.

Vanessa walked on the streets casually, looking at the old buildings, she was getting a bit bored. She walked over to Matthew and Elena and sat on the edge of the fountain. "Did you remember their name? Or a voice?" she asked Elena.

"No. I couldnt remember that much." Elena said, lowering her head. She hated not knowing who she was.

MAtthew looked arround and then noticed that they were being watched. "2 guys, across the street. Black car" he whispered to them both.

Elena's head snapped around and she looked over at them. Her vampire hearing let her hear their conversation
"Thats her. I remember her from the painting that Damon has."
"You're sure."
"Positive."
"So what do we do."
"We have to find a way to get her to Damon."
"What do we do about her two friends."
"We take them with us and see what Damon wants done."
"What if they attack us?"
"We're Originals. We wont go down easy. Stakes dont work.
She looked back. "You two get back inside. If they're going to go after me, I dont want you two getting hurt." She knew that Originals would be able to kill them, and they'd been her friends since she'd died and come back. They were her family. She couldnt let them get hurt. She turned away, about to head for the closest building

Vanessa turned her head slightly so she could see the vampires from the corner of her eye. She didn't want them to know they saw them. She looked at Elena, "I'm not leaving you. We all came out here, so we'd stand a better chance against these guys together." she said, emphasizing the word 'together'.

"and if you two get killed?" she asked, her attitude coming out. "What am I supposed to do then? I ant lose you two."

"Well, there is a chance they will take us anyway, cause i doubt they will leave us alive. How about we see if we can lose them. If we go down there...." he told them, pointing to some Stairs that led down into some older parts of Rome still standing "We could easily lose them down there. now lets go before they start co...." he continued, and then noticed they already were comming towards them. "Shit, move, now!" he told them, actually pulling them down the stairs since he was in a slight rush/panic.

She pulled away. "No. I want to know who I am, and if they are the answer than I'm going to squeeze the answer out of them if it kills me." She turned, looking up the stairs. She heard no footsteps. "That's weird. Weren't they following us?"

Vanessa looked back, these vampires meant business, not wasting a minute, they really wanted to get Elena. She almost lost her balance when Matthew started pulling them down the stairs. She looked at Elena, she really was dedicated - scary dedicated. Vanessa couldn't fully understand how bad it was losing your memories, you'd have to experience it to truly relate to what Elena was going through. Matthew probably connected the most with her, since he was in the same boat. Vanessa turned around as Elena noted that the vampires weren't there, "I've got a bad feeling about this....."

Elena took a step, trying to sense or hear something. Anything. "What are they up to?" She looked around for any sign of movement.

Vanessa turned around to face the opening of the stairs, she took a deep breath, she couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary. She couldn't hear them either, she looked at Elena, "They wouldn't have somehow been staked before they came any closer, would they?" she said in a low voice, since she and Elena couldn't sense them. Not a second after Vanessa said that, one of the vampires came down the stairs, in a flash and pushed her all the way down the stairs with enormous strength. Vanessa didn't even get any time to react, she found herself tumbling down the stairs, but she couldn't even stop herself, with the speed she was moving at she couldn't hope to stop from falling. When she reahed the bottom, she fell with a loud thud and got up quickly. "Damn...." Even though she wasn't hurt physically, she still felt the pain, she looked back up the stairs and could see the two vampires surrounding Matthew and Elena.
