Aeris Silverthorn made his way into the bar, footsteps as light and graceful as any of the elven race, an air of composure about him that simply oozed sophistication. Several small pouches about his waist clinked lightly as he walked, containing various bottles and items of equipment, as well as ingredients - though there was not a huge variety. He did not carry his entire shop with him, after all.

The elf's green eyes fell upon Harsk as he approached the counter, the storeroom door not being far from it. "Talking to wood, are we, dwarf?" he queried jestingly, having a natural inclination towards poking fun at the other. It was in their heritage, after all.

Aeris Silverthorn raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure that's the wisest decision I've ever seen someone make." he commented. "If something clawed at my foot, then spewed slime through the keyhole, I'd think twice about letting it out into a crowded room full of innocents..." he continued, chuckling. "I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from on this one, dwarf."

Aeris Silverthorn chuckled lightly, eyes following the dwarf alight with amusement. "Oh, I would never be so rude as to implicate such a thing." he said, "I was merely pointing out that... well, whatever that is doesn't sound very friendly."

The elf's eyes flickered over to the door at the sounds and smells emitting from it, his fingers tapping on his trousers. "That certainly doesn't sound like it intends to come up and order a cup of tea..." he murmured, taking a few steps to place himself a good distance from the storeroom door.

Aeris Silverthorn observed all this with a steadily increasing degree of disgust. "Yes, well... this seems like an appropriate moment to vacate the premises..." he murmured, before making haste for the door and departing

"Blast this infernal contraption to all the nine moons!"

As Aeris Silverthorn entered the bar, he was scowling quite irritably at what appeared to be a clockwork banana. Or at least, that was the sort of shape it held. The blonde elf was twiddling with whatever it was, adjusting dials and twisting sections of it in various different patterns. Apparently, the clockwork banana was not cooperating.

"Damn and blast!" Aeris cursed as the banana let out a resounding 'twang!' and catapulted a small metal rod about twenty feet across the room and straight into Domingo's head, bouncing off and clattering on the floor.

"Sorry about that! I'm still working out the kinks..." the elf called, hurrying over meekly.

Aeris Silverthorn froze at the unsheathing of Domingo's sword, halting in his tracks and backing up a few steps. "What?" he exclaimed, blinking. "I said sorry..."

Aeris glanced at the part at Domingo's feet, apparently not all too concerned. "Er, could I have the little... rod back, please? It's of rather specific dimensions, see..."

"Now that was totally unnecessary." Aeris drew himself up haughtily and directed a glare at Domingo, returning his 'clockwork banana' to his bag. "Downright barbaric! Such wilful destruction of technology!"

The elf huffed, folding his arms. "I know not what you imply by 'pathetic mainlander', but I assure you that my resources are plentiful. The art and the craft is in the application of those resources, and I do not know why you have apparently made it your aim to inconvenience me in my work."

"Quite obviously." Aeris stated dryly, "Seeing as I am working with gold."

The elf folded his arms and scoffed, "Your craft is admirable, human, but you have not had millennia to perfect it. I do not know where you hail from, but our elven forges are unmatched even by the magically produced weapons of the Witches. Their heroes come to us for their weapons, as do the men, and the dwarves - when their pride will allow for it. There is no craft that at least one elf has devoted their life to, and let me tell you now, that that is a considerable amount of time to get good at something."

Having not expected this attack, Aeris did not have time to avoid it, but quite far from being intimidated, the elf was instead indignant. "Dai'yue, human! Have you no mind of your own to think with?"

The elf's eyes narrowed dangerously, and he hissed a word under his breath, pushing Domingo away with a significant magical force. "I suppose that in your realm, elves are not quite so far beyond men in magical power that performing such an action would be nought but folly, then? Only the Witches and Warlocks surpass us, and they are chosen by the moons and suns themselves."

Aeris Silverthorn muttered another word under his breath, remaining motionless. As Domingo broke into a run, he would abruptly feel the ground below him become decidedly more slippery, as a coat of perfectly smooth ice formed upon it. That, accompanied by a second push of force would hopefully put an end to his charge.

"And so you blame me for the actions of a government, or monarch?" Aeris queried, "You define an entire race by the actions of their leaders? You are no better than the rest of your kind, human, filled with hate, prejudice and ignorance. You call yourself the chosen of the blood god, but no other god would have such a foul race as yours. No matter where you make your mark, you bring evil with you, and war, and hate. Where there was tranquillity and peace, humans bring conflict."

Aeris scowled. "I am dirtied to hold such feelings, and I do not doubt that amongst humans there are those who are respectable and charitable. I know many such individuals myself. You, sir, are not one of them. You personify everything that I hate about your race - ignorance, barbarism, bloodlust and prejudice."

"You live for the fight?" Aeris repeated scornfully, "Just like a human. Live for the chance to destroy lives, and throw your own life onto the point of a sword.

A word of power sent a shock of flame outwards to impact the thrown sword, melting the ice and tossing the weapon away. "I will not fight you, human, I will not sink myself to your level. But neither will I allow you to kill me. So choose - either remain, humiliating yourself with attempt after attempt to lay but a single finger on me, or begone. Learn to think with something beside your sword."

Aeris glared at Kazuo Ishikawa, folding his arms. "I see no fight. I see an ignorant barbarian up in arms because he cannot abide the presence of one of my race."

Aeris Silverthorn turned to face the Empress, allowing his attention to (supposedly) slip away from the man who was attempting to attack him.

Of course, then, it was entirely coincidental when his respectful bow to the woman perfectly coincided with deftly avoiding the swing of the man's sword - or, apparently the punch.

"A pleasure, your majesty." he offered politely, "Were we to meet under more convenient circumstances, I would surely remain to better make your acquaintance. But as the case may be, I believe it might be easier for all parties involved if I made good my leave."

With that, Aeris directed one final glare at Domingo, before making his way out of the bar.

Aeris Silverthorn strolled idly down the street, his arms folded behind his back and his mind far from where he was placing his feet - though somehow he managed to avoid treading in anything unpleasant.

The elf's eyes were closed, and he seemed entirely tranquil, strolling along through the open air with a spring in his step. He hummed a soft melody to himself as he went.

The sound of forging penetrated his distant mind, however, but he paid it little heed - though it became apparent he was to pass by its source quite closely on his intended route.

Aeris Silverthorn raised an eyebrow at the raven, opening his eyes to peer at it curiously. "Well hello there, friend." he said, smiling. But then the bird was flying away, and Aeris chuckled. "Leaving so soon?"

Shaking his head, the elf continued onwards, batting an eyelid at the steam in the street. Curious, Aeris moved towards its source, still humming softly as he approached.

"My curiosity gets the better of me, sir." Aeris announced into the tent, not recognising Domingo, "I do hope that I am not intruding."

"That is good," Aeris smiled warmly and stepped further inside, running his eyes over the swords that lined the tent. "You are a fine craftsman, I must say. These are beautiful weapons."

The elf turned to look at the man, "Might I inquire as to your name, smith raven-friend?"

Aeris Silverthorn blinked in surprise as he recognised Domingo's features, momentarily frowning before the man came out with - of all things - an apology!

The elf paused a moment before nodding, "I understand. I should not have retorted as I did; 'tis no way for one who claims to be wise to behave." Truth be told, Aeris was young for an elf - extremely so. He was only around forty in human years.

He bowed politely and offered a hand, "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aeris."

"I am aware that not all variants of my people hold themselves well." Aeris said solemnly, "But you would do well not to hold prejudice against an entire race because of it. Even amongst the elves you have encountered, I am sure that there are individuals - women, children, merchants - who are honest and kind. Even the soldiers, merely following orders."

Aeris smiled, "It does not take much to corrupt a nation, but it takes a great deal to corrupt an honest man."

Aeris Silverthorn nodded politely. "That would perhaps be the best course of action. I can already feel my elven vanity being despoiled by sweat." he joked sarcastically.

Chuckling, Aeris rose to his feet. "Well, Dom - if I may refer to you as such; Bane does not have the ring of a friend to me, though 'tis but a name - it is a pleasure to meet you in a more amiable context."

Aeris Silverthorn chuckled at the child, shaking his head. "I did not, little one." Aeris patted Dom on the back, "My friend here is the master smith here." he said, nodding his head.

"Are you admiring it? You ought to take particular note of these markings here..." Aeris drifted gracefully over to the weapon to point out inlaid runes in the hilt and blade, "They are, though not of the type I am used to, not dissimilar to those I know to imbue with strength, endurance and sharpness. You would do well to mind your fingers."

"Of course." Aeris smiled, hooking an arm around Domingo's -- the elvish peoples (at least Aeris' own) being a far more friendly society, such an act would be merely polite there, but of course, had alternate implications to human societies -- and strolling towards the forest. "Though I am not a smith myself."

Aeris gestured vaguely, "I am an alchemist. That device you saw me fiddling with was an attempt at a portable, automatic alembic. It is still in development. But, elven forging is a common interest. Many elves, in effort to avoid the boredom of doing everything with magic, take up a craft to master. The difference comes when a master smith uses magic in unison with his skills, to create as near a perfect blade as can be made by those below gods."
