Type-25 Directed Energy Pistol: The Plasma Pistol is a standard Aschen Directed Energy Weapon that uses superheated ionized gas called plasma rather than traditional ballistic ammunition. History

Kendra Shaw is an officer from the Ministry of Defense who is assigned to the Solemn Penance as then Admiral Helena Cain's aide when the Reverence puts in for an overhaul at the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards. She sees the assignment as a stepping stone to her real goal, which is Fleet Command.

Shaw's mother, former Siress Marta Shaw, recently died of cancer prior to the lieutenant's posting to Pegasus. It is insinuated by Cain upon her first meeting with Shaw that she receives this posting due to her mother's influence. Shaw also claims to be a "lapsed Classics major" upon recognizing that Gina Inviere's last name is old Gemenese for "resurrection".

Never having served on a Reverence before, she quickly draws Admiral Cain's attention, initially drawing her ire for reporting in late because she couldn't find her way to the CIC, as well as the deduction that Shaw was using the assignment as a step on the career ladder. During the Terran Conflict, she becomes one of Cain's most trusted officers — Cain sees in her a potential to become molded into a "razor". Cain's confidence in her abilities gets her promoted to captain.

After her promotion to Captain she still serves under Cain through the Terran Conflict, demonstrating her tactical prowess, she was assigned command of the Tripartite Base after the finalization of peace negotiations. Promoted to Commander, she served aboard the Solemn Penance.

Recently, in light of the Terrorist attacks, she was promoted to Fleet Admiral, and assigned command of the Classis I Sector Langara (2 Reverence II Fleets, and 1 CNV Strike Fleet), where she carried out Operation Ordo Infernus, resulting in the complete destruction of a great portion of Terra's surface through slow and thorough glassing.

Broken by the gravity of her deeds, she turned to drugs in the hopes she could cope with the nightmares of the atrocities she committed under the command of the Aschen Empire, inevitably she was captured by Terran Authorities, but managed to flee to the Taiyou Empire. There she earned the affection of then Emperor Nobuo Takayama, whom she married and bore two children, Aeka, and Shimizu.

Kendra Shaw yelped as she was struck, but her recent Taiyou cyberization meant her brain was protected in a metal case which augmented her skull, the butt of the blade hit, but it did not knock her out, rather she used the momentum to throw herself away from him, crawling towards a nearby dead Imperial warrior.

"Go on, disgrace your nation, I can save these people!" She cried out.

"Help me..." She whimpered, before she grasped the magazine off of a dead Imperial warrior, crawling over to the other side, blood pooling on the floor.

"Fight for freedom, and you'll be given amnesty, if you continue to serve him, there'll be a reckoning." She then grabbed her MX Type 2 Kinetic Carbine and slid the magazine into the weapon. Dizzy from the loss of blood, she tried to level the weapon on him, her hand shaking as she held it out.

Kendra Shaw cleared her throat as she moved to sit down besides the Emperor. Moving the folds of her Yukata she got comfortable and addressed the Prime Minister. "To put it simply the Ori are ancients, they're the same species as the Alterans, the same Ancients, but a different nation of them... religious fervor and worship as opposed to logical development and reason, the Ori believe they should be worshiped as gods." She explained, looking to the photograph.

"A strong alliance of humanity would be enough to deter an Ori incursion, but the Ori are very powerful, and there's no doubt they've been providing the Aschen with technology, a lot of these weapons use components derived from Ori technology, the Reverence platform of ships, are reverse engineered from Ori motherships." Shaw held up a comparison photo of the two vessels. "The similarities are evident in design nuances, modern Aschen shield technologies have also been engineered from Ori shields, which is why they have been much more resilient." The former Admiral explained. "The Aschen are adaptive, and this war is giving their officers extensive experience in fighting the Scatterran nations, what needs to be done is fostering peace, because I fear another war with the Aschen, may end up far bloodier than this one... it frightens me to see how close the Aschen have gotten to core Scatterran space, when it was widely believed Scatterran space was unassailable."

Kendra Shaw nodded slightly. "Disruptor scoring or were they from a different energy weapon type? Ori soldiers use staff weapons, they fire an energy like plasma, but a little more punch... paranormal explainations? Tell me did your men find any books among the dead... books like this one?" She said, withdrawing a large book with a strange symbol on the front, the Ori symbol, which resulted in gasps from the Taiyou cabinet. She promptly slid the book towards Regievko.

"It's called the Book of Origin, it's the religious text from the Ori, they use it to brainwash their followers, and if that doesn't work, they use what's called the Ark of Truth, an Ancient device that makes a person believe whatever's programmed into it."

"Or was there evidence maybe a single individual raided the tomb? An Ori Prior is capable of great power without any technology aiding them."

Shaw paused and then her expression darkened. "The Ori... they want to revive the Grand Duchy, forgive me if I may be wrong."

It had been two days since Kianna was thrown into the room with the water, two days with a meager meal of rice and nothing more. Kianna would likely be pulled from her room by a pair of Imperial warriors and dragged to the interrogation room, left to lay on the floor in the austere brightly lit room.

The door opened with a hiss and an Aschen Officer was seen stepping into the room. An Admiral by the uniform. She had dark skin and slight asian features, but if Kianna knew ethnicity, this woman was Gemonese.

She poured herself a glass of tea and she sipped it, looking down to Kianna.

"You look like hell."

Kendra Shaw sipped her tea again. "The War's over." She said, pouring another glass of tea, and passing it down to the woman. "I'm Fleet Admiral Kendra Shaw, I was assigned to the Fleet of Particular Justice. I carried out an Exterminatus.. I believe they call it now, against Terra a long time ago." She said. "You look absolutely exhausted.. But the war is over for you. Just like the war ended for me a long time ago." She said, turning to an Imperial warrior, saying something briefly in Taiyou before she turned back. "Do you have a name? I'd like to know it so I can get you some medical attention and maybe some rest."

Kendra Shaw smiled somewhat. "So the Black Hand is a McGregor, interesting." She said, turning back to the Imperial warrior and nodding. "By blood or Marriage?" She said, as two warriors stepped into the room and hoisted the woman onto a stretcher. The hard floor replaced with soft fabric. "Get her some medical attention." She said, walking alongside the woman. "The Taiyou were landing on Langara, we surrendered unconditionally to Taiyou occupation. Our military's been obliterated and we hardly have a sustainable population anymore. We had to surrender in order to survive." She said, walking with the woman.

"The Divine Shadow signed the documents this morning. The War is over We're a Taiyou client now. It's best to cooperate with them, so you can go home to your family."

Kendra Shaw squeezed the stock of the pistol, and she narrowed her eyes. "You think I won't do it?" Suddenly a voice pierced the tense calm of their interaction.

"Kogo Heika!" A Taiyou soldier barked, while a second soldier tackled Kendra to the floor, the first one opened fire from his Seburo C26a assault rifle, sending three rounds into Kianna's chest, all three of the small high velocity rounds passing through and missing vital organs.

The Imperial Warrior that tackled Kendra climbed off of her, and grabbed his MX Type 2 Kinetic Carbine, a totally different weapon and he leveled it on Kianna.

"Tomeru!" Kendra barked, forcing the man to lower his weapon.

"Nanishiteruno?" She barked, glaring at Kendra. "What did you do to provoke them!?"

LET IT BE DECREED that the TAIYOU EMPIRE is willing to concede to the immediate cessations of hostilities with the INVICTUS per previous standing agreements and treaties between the INVICTUS and the TAIYOU EMPIRE.
