Setting

The second magical academy along the ocean route, Celestia is a beautiful and positively radiant edifice. Positioned on the easternmost shore of a large lake that stretches southwards towards the distant Academia Everia, Celestia seems a beacon of light, intricately carved and decorated white spires, golden balconies and towering walls an impressive sight to behold.

Celestia is home to all kinds of mages, from elemental sorcerers to wand-wielding wizards and witches. Almost anything magic-based can be learned or studied here, when enrolled, and the libraries are partially open to the public.

The Headmistress, Scarlet Dae is an incredibly powerful mage with a lot of experience for her young years. She keeps a tight ship. The Academy has survived a lot through its involvement in the Orsa of Terminus wars, from sieges to possession by demonic mist, but still stands firm - if scarred.

The Academy is laid out with a ring of thick, sturdy outer walls that bound it on all sides, containing its grounds. A single road leads to a large solid metal gate providing the only access to it. The grounds consist of a large lightly wooded area around a miniature lake, dotted with buildings of varying size. These buildings include the library archives on the road just in front of the main building, the student halls of residence behind it, and the newly constructed barracks near the walls themselves.

The Academy's main building is an impressive edifice, beautiful architecture forming a massive structure with two towers that reach toward the sky proudly, despite having been destroyed twice. One of the towers is a clock-tower complete with a bell, the other merely a spire. It sits a five minute walk from the gate down a short cobbled road. The courtyard in front of the Academy serves as the break-area for students, whilst the combat training area is immediately behind the building.

Elante Vadrillion followed the purposeful strides of the headmistress, party on tow, up several flights of (moving) stairs, little effort due to the magic animating them in a manner akin to escalators, but less mind-numbingly slow, and far more stylish - in marble, no less. Emerging into the tower chamber, the group found themselves in a distinctly organised environment, thanks in no small part to Tallana.

Scarlet hopped up onto a raised box as they entered, the eyes of all the mages present falling upon them. "Good evening, all!" she called out "Am I to assume all the possible preparations have been made?" she then asked, once she had their attention, to a general hum of affirmative.

"Excellent! Good work, everyone!" she exclaimed, hopping back down again and walking to Ty, Hope and Whisper.

"I'm going to have to request that you hand over Miss Whisper to our care, now." the headmistress said, smiling reassuringly. "She is in good hands, do not worry - we need some time to make additional preparation now, though."

Elante Vadrillion stood a few paces away, observing the room with a keen eye for detail. All seemed to be in order, as far as he could tell. There were at least two dozen mages here, mostly from the senior staff of both Academias, Celestia and Everia, the most gifted healers amongst them. A large chalk pentagram was marked on the floor, lined with candles and various pots of ingredients - ritual magic at its finest, and most organised.

Turning to Aeryn, Elante smiled. "Let it never be said that mages cannot organise themselves given a loud, and frightening enough motivation." he said, chuckling as he glanced over to Tallana.

Aeryn raised an eyebrow "She certainly seems scary." he murmured softly, feeling slightly out of place amongst all these magic users, being he himself a creature summoned using a binding spell from these people's textbooks. The silvis turned his attention then to Scarlet, raising an eyebrow. "For a headmistress, she's kinda... you know. Not old and wrinkled." he commented.

Tallana bustled over to Scarlet, Ty, Hope and Whisper, offering a polite nod to Scarlet before huffing at the trio. "Come now, we have no time to waste over the finer details of social etiquette." she insisted, looking at the three rather impatiently, indicating that they should get Whisper in position (a prepared bed in the centre of the chalk circle) rather promptly or face her (increased) ire.

Whisper (Jacquelyn Rose) was helped into the bed by Ty and Hope, and the sudden relief of being off her feet was almost enough to leave her drifting into unconsciousness, but as more muscle spasm wrack her body with pain in ways she hardly thought imaginable the relief is short lived. Her breaths are pained and every bit of her wants to scream, but she endures in silence.

She's largely unaware of Ty and Hope after that, but she images they moved away from her, but where they went she doesn't know. Soon.. soon it'll be over, one way or the other. Be it death or cure, this wouldn't endure for long.

Elante Vadrillion observed with curiosity as the mages within the circle of power began to leap into action. There were around sixteen of them in total, clad in creamy white robes, with golden embroidery - the garb of a Celestial Master Mage. Elante himself was only a journey, sorely outclassed within this room. Each of the mages took up a position around the circle, men and women, and sat cross legged in their own smaller circles. Apprentices darted this way and that, lighting candles, setting incenses alight and starting the motions of the ritual.

The mages wasted no time. They initiated their spell almost as soon as all were in position, and the area of the circle had been cleared. The chalk lines of the circle lit up, the markings beginning to glow golden, as a dome of translucent white formed around them. The mages and Whisper were now cut off, Elante could see their lips moving, but the sound of the chanting did not reach outside of the dome. -c-

Aeryn As if summoned by some spiteful god of irony and cliched last words, the doors of the chamber suddenly burst inwards, a frantic looking mage running in, panting heavily. "The walls..." he gasped, "There's an army at the walls!"

Tallana's eyes widened. "What are you talking about man, straighten up, pull yourself together and start making sense!" she snapped.

"At the foot of the hill... some sort of shadowy mass! An army! They're soldiers!" the man gasped after a moment. "The academy is under attack!"

Aeryn groaned. "Why did you have to say it? Why, why why... this was all going to go fine, but then you had to say it...."

Nyx Alurane was, of course, at the back of the horde of Hellish abominations she had called to her service; many being simple impish fiends, lesser demons who would naturally leap at her beck and call, however a select few were creatures she had to call in favors for; Pit fiends and the grayish fiends that served them, Galbrezu and Alumni. These were far fewer in number to the main horde, however their strength and wit was so much greater. One such Galbrezu growled quietly, standing beside the succubs, it speaking in a deep tone, clearly eager for the taste of flesh. "We are assembled, Lady. At your wish we will storm the gates, we will crush your enemies and rend their bodies."

Nyx simply chuckled at this and nodded, tilting her head to one side. "Peace, Mateus... You and your ilk are precious, the imps shall draw their fire..." -c-

Nyx Alurane turned to Ana then, who was somewhere nearby. "Ana, my dear, you will be crucial in this... Yourself and Mateus here will go around, find a way inside unchecked... Your abilities are most useful from stealth no?" She chuckled once again before turning to the horde, raising her voice to call out to her abyssal horde.

"My darlings, we are here at the call of a great power! A power that once coated the land in wonderful darkness, the planet a feeding ground for us all... Do you not wish for it back!? To retrieve what was so forcefully taken!?" At this there was a loud cry of approval from the demons, raising their blades. "We will have victory! We will claim what is ours, and this land with run with the blood of our foes on this day!" Again, a loud cry, this one louder than before, shaking the walls of the academy with its volume, Nyx's laughter ringing out over the horde as it charged, a blackened blight surging towards the walls of Celestia.

“ me would obviously be nearby...Well pretty close to Nyx as she didn't like the idea of being alone with these rather fowl smelling, and unpleasantly idiotic war hungry demons. Her hood was gently pulled over her head so her face would remain hidden for the moment. She wasn't a type to do something like this, and preferred to be doing research then doing raids as such but hell I suppose this is what she got for joining the Orsa.
Understood....
Was the simplistic response she uttered to the General who stood before her. (c) ”

To mention this place was crawling with magic user's, and all it too was one who could use any sort of light magic and her shadows where completely useless.... She would proceed to take a rather deep breath as she was unsure of all of this. When would be the right moment to sneak in...? Where could she sneak in? Was the fortress completely guarded...? Was there any magic detection systems within the castle itself...? All these thoughts raced threw her mind as she had to think on the subject at hand, this wasn't something one could rush threw. (c)

Anastasia Righnach She was likely going to have to use much more power then she usually does, that meant releasing a bit more of her wavelength into the area but that could also lead to her being detected which would be bad as being her job was to sneak in without detection in the first place.
I'm not sure....Is there a possible way to sneak in without my ability setting anything off. I'm just curious as this place is just crawling with magic users, and they can prove to be a problem...
The Witch uttered, her looking to the creature she obviously was suppose to infiltrate with...However her gaze would snap back to Nyx as she was currently left with not to many options to choose from if they where prepared as she believed they where to be.... (e)

Elante Vadrillion Scarlet Dae leapt into action almost immediately, swirling around with her stave raised. "Get that portal open!" she yelled, gesturing towards a stone circle toward the side of the room. "Call the battlemages to arms, get them on the walls! Shore up the defences, I want our finest geomancers behind the walls, giving them added strength! Tallana, I need you at the gate, your metal magic can hold them fast! Elante, get yourself down to the student quarters, organise them into groups, make sure they're never in less than groups of five! Get the eldest students out with the staff, we need every hand available!"

The commands the headmaster issued were each to a separate individual, and each apprentice, or mage darted off, either out into the corridor or into the now glowing purple stone portal leading to the courtyard. Scarlet herself turned then to the artefact bearers. "You, guardians, stay in here, ensure nothing goes awry with the ritual, and keep those damn artefacts safe!" -c-

Elante Vadrillion With that, Scarlet strode through the portal, and out into the courtyard. Elante turned to Aeryn, offering the silvis a smile, and a quick hug. "Don't worry yourself, I'll be fine." he assured him, before turning and hurrying after Scarlet. He had an academy to save, after all.

Out in the courtyard, Scarlet strode towards the wall, where already the battlemages were beginning to form up, eyes trained on the approaching army, spells readied and at the tips of their fingers, ready to launch. The headmistress paced to the battlements above the iron gate, positioning herself directly in the centre of the assault, and smiled. Waving her hand to amplify her voice, she raised one leg to rest on the battlement in a theatrical manner.

"Academia Celestia! This is your headmistress speaking! We face today a greater foe than the academia has ever faced! We face a battle of the likes normally reserved for heroes in story books, castles, cities and strongholds!" -c-

Elante Vadrillion "But did they have an entire Academy of mages to call on? Were they protecting the prodigies responsible for protecting the fate of the entire world? I think not! Today we will write our own legends, carve out our own place in the storybooks! Years from now, our descendants, and the descendants of all those alongside us will speak of this battle with awe, and they will be in awe of how the mages of Academia Celestia stood firm against the might of hell itself! For we will stand!" she yelled, raising her staff to project a beacon of pure light into the sky, in a show of defiance at the encroaching horde.

A roar of approval rose up from the assembled mages on the wall, behind it and in the courtyard, cheers and shouts, the fear of moments ago forgotten in the fervor of the speech.

Elante began his own rallying on a smaller scale, gathering up the students and organising them into small groups. Shame the writer is too lazy to detail that as well. -e-

Whisper (Jacquelyn Rose) felt the rest of the room cut off from her as the circle activated and the mages began their spells. It was a notable relief to her, and though she still had the minds of the mages within the circle to contend with, they were disciplined and powerful individuals, those that couldn't keep her out altogether were single mindedly focused into the ritual, and they were more of a dull humming in the back of her mind rather than the crushing onslaught of chaos.

Though her body was still wracked with pain, the magically charged air seemed to sooth her into a deep slumber, unaware of the danger outside. Though she rested it was still quite apparent that she was far from well. Her skin was pasty and pale, covered in a thin sheen of sweat and her lips were stained with blood.

Aeryn embraced Elante briefly, before the mage hurried away, leaving Aeryn somewhat forlorn and lost. The silvis glanced around at the swiftly emptying and silencing room, sighing as the last of the apprentices vanished into the purple mists of the portal, leaving him alone in the room with the silent dome of mages.

"Weeeelll... fuck." he muttered, flopping down onto a chair, feeling decidedly useless.

Tallana emerged out into the courtyard in time to hear Scarlet's speech, and smiled quietly. That girl was definitely more than met the eye. Tallana had thought her a mistake when she was first promoted to headmistress, too young, rash, not enough experience. She had since revised her opinion. The elder mage made her way to her position behind the gate, glancing over to where another portal was being erected to the nearby Everian academy, a pair of messengers passing through to rally support from them. Tallana diverted her attention away again, however, and to the metal of the gate. -c-

Nyx Alurane watched as the horde spilled over the plains before her, their black majesty blotting out the ground below as their bodies met the wall. Those with the ability to began to scamper with surprising agility upward to simply go over the high battlements, doubtless many would be felled by spells for above, but many would also succeed in the first wave, sharp claws seeking out flesh, teeth wanting to rip into bone and muscle. The main bulk had yet to move however, the initial move was with simple imps; basic fiends who were but cannon fodder, to test the defenses of the palisade while the greater fiends lingered back for the moment, surrounding the succubus who commanded them. But why? Why would they linger back from the blood lust that affected them so...

Nyx herself had knelt down upon the ground, placing her palms to the earth as he white eyes closed. Gradually over time the degree of energy surrounding her would build and build, possibly being felt bu the higher mages in the building. -c-

Mateus meanwhile looked to Ana, tossing his large, dog like head to the side. "Come woman. the Lady commands." He then ran with great speed off to the side, scurrying round the horde as he guided her to the sides of the wall, his maw dripping with saliva, flames licking at his teeth as he clearly hungered for flesh. "We will find a way, and we will rip them apart!" He swore to the winds, laughing in a low, murderous tone.

Anastasia Righnach would be amused as the battle had torn a thunder. Hoards of demented creatures coming in a massive wave toward the Academy like a hoard of locust upon a crop field. It was like cattle to the slaughter as the creatures numbers where rather overwhelming. It didn't matter how many different verity of spell casters and magics users would attempt to defend the castle as the creatures would charge the wall faster then they could chant there little spells...

This was nothing more then a slaughter fest, with one side or another simply killing the other without much thought put into it. This was all to enjoyable for the Witch, to watch as the lives of those pitiful creatures come to an end by the hands of the things they proudly killed on a day to day bases....The blood curdling screams and roars, the sound of break bone and tearing flesh where like small symphony to the Witches ears. Fine, lets get this over with.
The Witch stated, however she would obviously find the creature had taken off at a speed that was much greater then she could ever possibly run at. Being she was currently restricted to the amount of energy she could use such things as flight where strongly frowned upon.

She would have to retort to use a different mean of fast travel. Her form seemed to loose all of it's coloration as it was shortly reduced to a human shaped oozing inky black substance that soon after sunk to the ground. This shadow of sorts quickly dissolving into the creatures own as she was basically just piggy-backing.
