Setting
Celestia is home to all kinds of mages, from elemental sorcerers to wand-wielding wizards and witches. Almost anything magic-based can be learned or studied here, when enrolled, and the libraries are partially open to the public.
The Headmistress, Scarlet Dae is an incredibly powerful mage with a lot of experience for her young years. She keeps a tight ship. The Academy has survived a lot through its involvement in the Orsa of Terminus wars, from sieges to possession by demonic mist, but still stands firm - if scarred.
The Academy is laid out with a ring of thick, sturdy outer walls that bound it on all sides, containing its grounds. A single road leads to a large solid metal gate providing the only access to it. The grounds consist of a large lightly wooded area around a miniature lake, dotted with buildings of varying size. These buildings include the library archives on the road just in front of the main building, the student halls of residence behind it, and the newly constructed barracks near the walls themselves.
The Academy's main building is an impressive edifice, beautiful architecture forming a massive structure with two towers that reach toward the sky proudly, despite having been destroyed twice. One of the towers is a clock-tower complete with a bell, the other merely a spire. It sits a five minute walk from the gate down a short cobbled road. The courtyard in front of the Academy serves as the break-area for students, whilst the combat training area is immediately behind the building.
Scarlet hopped up onto a raised box as they entered, the eyes of all the mages present falling upon them. "Good evening, all!" she called out "Am I to assume all the possible preparations have been made?" she then asked, once she had their attention, to a general hum of affirmative.
"Excellent! Good work, everyone!" she exclaimed, hopping back down again and walking to Ty, Hope and Whisper.
"I'm going to have to request that you hand over Miss Whisper to our care, now." the headmistress said, smiling reassuringly. "She is in good hands, do not worry - we need some time to make additional preparation now, though."
Turning to Aeryn, Elante smiled. "Let it never be said that mages cannot organise themselves given a loud, and frightening enough motivation." he said, chuckling as he glanced over to Tallana.
Tallana bustled over to Scarlet, Ty, Hope and Whisper, offering a polite nod to Scarlet before huffing at the trio. "Come now, we have no time to waste over the finer details of social etiquette." she insisted, looking at the three rather impatiently, indicating that they should get Whisper in position (a prepared bed in the centre of the chalk circle) rather promptly or face her (increased) ire.
Tallana bustled over to Scarlet, Ty, Elante and Aeryn, offering a polite nod to Scarlet before huffing at the trio. "Come now, we have no time to waste over the finer details of social etiquette." she insisted, looking at the three rather impatiently, indicating that they should get Whisper in position (a prepared bed in the centre of the chalk circle) rather promptly or face her (increased) ire. (last post from last time)
She's largely unaware of Ty and Hope after that, but she images they moved away from her, but where they went she doesn't know. Soon.. soon it'll be over, one way or the other. Be it death or cure, this wouldn't endure for long.
The mages wasted no time. They initiated their spell almost as soon as all were in position, and the area of the circle had been cleared. The chalk lines of the circle lit up, the markings beginning to glow golden, as a dome of translucent white formed around them. The mages and Whisper were now cut off, Elante could see their lips moving, but the sound of the chanting did not reach outside of the dome. -c-
Tallana's eyes widened. "What are you talking about man, straighten up, pull yourself together and start making sense!" she snapped.
"At the foot of the hill... some sort of shadowy mass! An army! They're soldiers!" the man gasped after a moment. "The academy is under attack!"
Aeryn groaned. "Why did you have to say it? Why, why why... this was all going to go fine, but then you had to say it...."
Nyx simply chuckled at this and nodded, tilting her head to one side. "Peace, Mateus... You and your ilk are precious, the imps shall draw their fire..." -c-
"My darlings, we are here at the call of a great power! A power that once coated the land in wonderful darkness, the planet a feeding ground for us all... Do you not wish for it back!? To retrieve what was so forcefully taken!?" At this there was a loud cry of approval from the demons, raising their blades. "We will have victory! We will claim what is ours, and this land with run with the blood of our foes on this day!" Again, a loud cry, this one louder than before, shaking the walls of the academy with its volume, Nyx's laughter ringing out over the horde as it charged, a blackened blight surging towards the walls of Celestia.
Was the simplistic response she uttered to the General who stood before her. (c) ”Understood....
The Witch uttered, her looking to the creature she obviously was suppose to infiltrate with...However her gaze would snap back to Nyx as she was currently left with not to many options to choose from if they where prepared as she believed they where to be.... (e)I'm not sure....Is there a possible way to sneak in without my ability setting anything off. I'm just curious as this place is just crawling with magic users, and they can prove to be a problem...
The commands the headmaster issued were each to a separate individual, and each apprentice, or mage darted off, either out into the corridor or into the now glowing purple stone portal leading to the courtyard. Scarlet herself turned then to the artefact bearers. "You, guardians, stay in here, ensure nothing goes awry with the ritual, and keep those damn artefacts safe!" -c-
Out in the courtyard, Scarlet strode towards the wall, where already the battlemages were beginning to form up, eyes trained on the approaching army, spells readied and at the tips of their fingers, ready to launch. The headmistress paced to the battlements above the iron gate, positioning herself directly in the centre of the assault, and smiled. Waving her hand to amplify her voice, she raised one leg to rest on the battlement in a theatrical manner.
"Academia Celestia! This is your headmistress speaking! We face today a greater foe than the academia has ever faced! We face a battle of the likes normally reserved for heroes in story books, castles, cities and strongholds!" -c-
A roar of approval rose up from the assembled mages on the wall, behind it and in the courtyard, cheers and shouts, the fear of moments ago forgotten in the fervor of the speech.
Elante began his own rallying on a smaller scale, gathering up the students and organising them into small groups. Shame the writer is too lazy to detail that as well. -e-
Though her body was still wracked with pain, the magically charged air seemed to sooth her into a deep slumber, unaware of the danger outside. Though she rested it was still quite apparent that she was far from well. Her skin was pasty and pale, covered in a thin sheen of sweat and her lips were stained with blood.
"Weeeelll... fuck." he muttered, flopping down onto a chair, feeling decidedly useless.
Tallana emerged out into the courtyard in time to hear Scarlet's speech, and smiled quietly. That girl was definitely more than met the eye. Tallana had thought her a mistake when she was first promoted to headmistress, too young, rash, not enough experience. She had since revised her opinion. The elder mage made her way to her position behind the gate, glancing over to where another portal was being erected to the nearby Everian academy, a pair of messengers passing through to rally support from them. Tallana diverted her attention away again, however, and to the metal of the gate. -c-
Tallana would make sure of it.
Nyx herself had knelt down upon the ground, placing her palms to the earth as he white eyes closed. Gradually over time the degree of energy surrounding her would build and build, possibly being felt bu the higher mages in the building. -c-
Mateus meanwhile looked to Ana, tossing his large, dog like head to the side. "Come woman. the Lady commands." He then ran with great speed off to the side, scurrying round the horde as he guided her to the sides of the wall, his maw dripping with saliva, flames licking at his teeth as he clearly hungered for flesh. "We will find a way, and we will rip them apart!" He swore to the winds, laughing in a low, murderous tone.
This was nothing more then a slaughter fest, with one side or another simply killing the other without much thought put into it. This was all to enjoyable for the Witch, to watch as the lives of those pitiful creatures come to an end by the hands of the things they proudly killed on a day to day bases....The blood curdling screams and roars, the sound of break bone and tearing flesh where like small symphony to the Witches ears. (c)
The Witch stated, however she would obviously find the creature had taken off at a speed that was much greater then she could ever possibly run at. Being she was currently restricted to the amount of energy she could use such things as flight where strongly frowned upon.Fine, lets get this over with.
She would have to retort to use a different mean of fast travel. Her form seemed to loose all of it's coloration as it was shortly reduced to a human shaped oozing inky black substance that soon after sunk to the ground. This shadow of sorts quickly dissolving into the creatures own as she was basically just piggy-backing. It had cost her little to no energy, and was a preferred source of travel as it was one those wouldn't expect to see from a Witch. (c)
But she had to keep in mind that they alone might still be a problem to be dealt with. To mention there will be others still guarding the castle that will also prove to be a nuisance... But she where to pull things to her favor then everything might turn out rather smoothly.... She could simply paralyze any of those who stand in her way while the brute rips them into a nice crimson red tissue paper... (e)
