Setting
The structures themselves reflected a long history of turmoil. In some places buildings were patched from explosions, in others just the foundation remain. Between the deli's sat bunkers, and even the yards of the residents boasted doors to underground escapes, their roofs holding turrets high. Either way, it was apparent by the architecture that Wing City would be standing for a while.
Like any suburbopolis, the traffic was horrible. The only real time to drive was at night, when the hover-bike gangs and hot-rodders took their wheels for a spin.
The sorceress tilted her head, "Would that be sufficient? Books of knowledge, many of which are magical themselves?" Sylvire's library was extensive -- in theory it could extend for miles. Just a lot of the time it wasn't in the mood to. L-Space was a curious thing...
After a series of button pushing, the field disengaged, Mollem then touched the control panel, which flashed green, a series of hisses and clunks would echo in the box, and then it swung open, revealing another vault, smaller. This time Siress Wenutu, rose from her seat and approached the box. Each smaller vault had to be opened by a different member of Parliament. The last box would be opened by Safiya Sanne, the power armored guards standing aside. Hung upon a rack, encased in solid diamondite casing, was the sword of truth.
The MEA Director fingered a lone coin in her pocket, some Aschen denomination, though she wasn't quite sure which exactly. When she saw the Sword, her heart began to beat faster, her palms growing moist as she leaned slightly forward on her toes, her eyes not leaving the artefact.
