Eight warriors have the chance to restore peace to a world with a dark and bloody past.

Introduction

Buried deep in the realm of fantasy lies a land of mystic wonder, Aurora. This is the land in which your story will begin,, the land in which your story will end. A world of many races, vast variety in landscapes and most importantly, adventure.

However, for a land of such beautiful culture, it has had a very dark past.

When the world was new, and the policies of man first began their monarchy, there was one supreme ruler of the world. Emperor Zaxon, he ruled Aurora with a hard fist but a kind heart. He was known for his strict policies and his armfuls of compassion. Some said they hoped that Zaxon would never leave the throne. But there was one who envied him. Bandrial, his most trusted advisor lusted for Zaxon’s throne. She spent her days whispering poison words in his ear, hoping that one day, won over by her trust, She could finally deliver to him the fatal blow that she had dreamt of for years.
The year grew cold, some of the fiercest and deadliest frosts Aurora had ever seen. Even the oceans began to freeze over, and turn hard like the advisor’s heart. The people, unaware and uneducated blamed Zaxon.
β€œYou have dishonored the gods!” they cried. β€œThere is no other explanation.” Bandrial also told him this.
β€œMy liege,” She cried. β€œDon’t you see how the gods cry to you, what have you done?” But Zaxon had done nothing. The frost was just another part of Bandrial’s scheme. However, even Zaxon began to think he had done something wrong. He went to his advisor for guidance.
β€œYou are a powerful sorceress,” He said. β€œTell me, how do I right my wrongs with the gods.” Behind her false worried eyes danced fires of glee and hope.
β€œSacrifice my lord, human sacrifice, only then will the gods be appeased.” Zaxon did not agree.
β€œSacrifice is wrong in any way, especially that of my own people,” He argued.
β€œLets think for a moment of what you have done, who is the one person you put above all else, including your country.” She said trough her forked tongue.
Solar, his queen, his bride, his one and only love. The shining sun of the nation.
β€œThey’ve grown envious of her,” The witch lied. β€œOnce she is gone, the storms will stop.” Of course Zaxon immediately refused. Solar was his life, and he would not loose it to a petty storm. It took more work on Bandrial’s part.
β€œWill you really let all these people suffer for one woman?” she asked. β€œYou are their king sir, the look to you for protection!”
Zaxon fought about mentally for weeks. The greatest inner conflict a man could have. His love, or his people? He couldn’t decide. Solar, in all of her bright and shining glory came to him.
β€œMy king,” she whispered sweetly in his ear. β€œMy love, you have to do this.” She told him.
β€œWho am I to take your life?” he asked.
β€œYou cant take it, when I give it freely,” Like a true martyr to the cause, His blade left his sheath and found a new one deep between her breasts. Zaxon fled to his wife, holding her to him. He pulled the blade from her body, the gift from his father never seeming so vile. He held her to him, her blood soaking through her white gown, into his blue tunic. He let out a wail of turmoil, of defeat. The entire nation shook with fear at its sound. He went to the balcony, dagger in hand, cursing the gods.
β€œI cant live without her,” he shrieked. β€œI’ve been good to this country, am I not allowed this one courtesy?” and without another word, the dagger found a similar resting place in Zaxon’s own chest.
Bandrial took the throne, no heirs yet born to the young king. The day the sorceress took the throne; a veil of darkness swept Aurora, and hasn’t left. The castle prophet came shaking into her throne room, the entire plot becoming coming clear to him now.
β€œYou may have won your power Bandrial,” The Prophet cried. β€œBut there will be those who will strip it away.”
β€œWhat do you speak of old man?” the new queen sneered. His eyes turned white and the prophecy chanted as such.

In the year of fiercest frosts
Two pure souls were cost.
Yet the day the stars align,
Eight new roles will be assigned.
The Archer whose life is falling apart,
Shall pierce an arrow into your heart,
The swordsman, whose blade is pure and true,
Shall rid the world of the likes of you,
The Shape shifter who never knew his past,
Will make sure that breath will be your last
The mind controller, who is hurt deeper than her skin,
Will make sure you never live again.
The Healer, soul full of precious light,
Will trap you with your hate and spite
The mage, elements at his control
Will return the throne you lustfully stole
The necromancer, who makes the dead alert,
Will haunt you with the ghosts of the people you’ve hurt,
The girl with life at her fingertips,
Ends the poison that leaves your lips.
Eight new roles will be assigned,
On the day the stars align.

Bandrial grabbed the old man up by his torn robes. β€œWhat do you speak of old man?” she hissed.
β€œI tell the story of your very fortunate demise,” he sneered back. Bandrial began to laugh.
β€œAnd now that I know what makes you think that I’ll be so stupid as to not fix it?” she asked.
β€œBecause, the decision you make, have a funny way of turning on you,” With that the old man morphed into a hawk and left. Leaving Bandrial to her worries. It would be 17 years before the stars would align; she decided to kill every newborn that was birthed that year, protecting her own skin.
What she didn’t realize was each of the children was born the day she came into power. This one misconception that will lead to your adventure.
On the day the stars align, a comet will lead overhead, marking those who would be heroes with a symbol on their hand. This day is coming soon my heroes. Prepare yourselves for the tasks ahead.

Creatures that live in Aurora:

Good:

Griffins: The griffin (griffon or gryphon) is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and often wings of an eagle. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle was the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Griffins are normally known for guarding treasure. In antiquity it was a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine. They reside in the Napgliss mountains.

Fairies: Not to be confused with Pixies These beautiful creature love to help the down hearted and sad. Can be found in about any forest in Aurora.

Rainbow Lions: Giant cats of strange colors. Can talk to humans and have limited magical abilities.

(PM Me if you have other ideas these are just some main ones.)

Evil:

Knee-Highs: Small creatures, greasy grey skin, (Looks a lot like the gnomes on the harry potter video games) easy to kill, but are dangerously fast. One bite can prove fatal. Their fangs hold quick acting poison. There are antidotes, but if it is not administered within the hour the victim will die.

Orcs: ( I don’t have to describe these do I? They’re in every fantasy thing known to mankind…almost)

Sirens: They’re song draws in young men and leads them to their death. Beautiful women from a distance, horrible creatures up close.

Trolls: Big ugly stupid brutes. Likes to smash things.

Behemoths: Giant creatures that are used mostly to carry cargo and crash through castle walls.

Werewolves: Men transformed by Bandrial's magic. Unlike the ones from legend, they do not change back, and have lost all sense of humanity.

(Once again feel free to add)

Gods and Goddesses

(Keep in mind each of the hero’s have their own god they worship. It should be pretty easy to see which one they worship. I’ll leave their names up to you! Be creative :D)

The God of War- Worshiped by the Swordsman
The Goddess of the Hunt Worshiped by the Archer
The God of Death Worshiped by the Necromancer
The Goddess of Life Worshiped by the Animal whisperer
The God of Beasts Worshiped by the Shapeshifter
The Goddess of Wisdom Worshiped by the Mage
The God of Will Worshiped by the Mind Controler
The Goddess of Love Worshiped by the Cleric

Lilith couldn’t believe she was ignored. The person just left her standing there. β€˜Way to make me look like a fool’ she thought. Her eyes narrowed as she glared daggers into his back.

β€œLilith, stop that nonsense” someone called out to her. Lilith turned to find that Master had walked into the shop. He didn’t acknowledge her. Master simply walked by and told the a man that he was sitting down. A confused expression appeared on the young girls face. She didn’t understand. Lilith walked over to Master and placed the basket in front of him. She then pulled out a apple.

β€œI brought you this apple. I thought you were hungry” she said sadly. Master looked at the apple and then pointed towards the seat in front of him. Lilith didn’t argue. She did as she was told. Lilith felt a little sunken feeling in her gut. Since Master’s health had been depleting, all she did was worry about him. However, he didn’t seem to realize how serious his condition was. He would let her worry to death and not even care. Master was even crueler than before. Lilith didn’t notice that her body posture gave away her thoughts. Master didn’t pay the girl any mind though. He waved for someone to help him.

β€œYou are still young and foolish Lilith” Master began.

β€œYou have a greater role to play. You can’t keep taking care of a old man who is going to die soon. Lilith my dear, you will be great. When I first laid eyes on you, I know you would have bigger and better things for you in the future. Stop worrying about my health, and worry about yours. If you die, then the puzzle will lose a major piece to it.” Lilith stared at her Master. Sadly, she didn’t get a chance too look into his eyes. The older man was looking for someone to serve him.

β€œYou boy, cleaning the floor. Fetch me something strong” Master called out. Lilith slumped into her seat and huffed. β€˜This bitter old man always gets his way’ Lilith whispered to herself.

It had reached passed midnight. Dawn would be approaching soon. The comet was less that 24 hours away. Bandrial went to Flagg. Something in her feared the coming night. It was stupidity. Pure stupidity. Infants couldn't fight a war. Even if they did survive, it would take years before they were ready to fight anyone.

"Is it time milady?" Flagg asked in his deep hollow voice. Bandrial nodded. It was time. She would end this and keep the throne for an eternity to come.

"Now that you've told me, why do you think I would be so stupid as to not fix it?" Bandrial asked

"Because the decisions you make have a funny way of turning on you."

Those words echoed through her head. No mistakes could be made. Akklanza had best do his job, and her soldiers had best do theirs. She was in a murderous mood. She begged for someone to step in her way.

The battle cries could be heard in the background, the shuffling of the troops as they went to begin their onslaught. Any child born today would surely not live to see tomorrow.

Peter had been traveling through the countryside for several days now, making camp wherever he could.Right now, all he could focus on were the hardships of life in the wild and the gradually increasing amount of marauders afoot. From what he heard from the innumerable villages he had passed through, the civilized regions of the kingdom was faring no better. The comet bound to pass overhead, however, was more of a concern to the children of the cities. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, thought Peter. As he trudged through the city gates, the guards gave him an odd stare, but people coming through at dusk was no oddity. Quickly making his way to the nearby inn, Peter rented a room after heated haggling with the owner, and ordered a drink, sitting down, and allowing himself to unwind.

A day like this was a luxury for Peter. The traveling was relatively smooth, when compared to most other days. At the end of the day, Peter was glad that was able to find a decent room, and have some measure of luxury in his post-reclusive lifestyle.

"What a gods awfull smell," Norman sighed, looking at Devon. "I suggest you keep that someplace safe, you may need that before the day is out, I fear." He got to his feet as fast as he could, and regretted it instantly.

"You should take it easy, old man," his mace snickered from it's current position on the ground, and Norman kicked some dirt at it, grinning as it coughed and sneezed. His grin faded away when he stared off towards the west, and cursed colorfully. "This is not good, but I will agree with you, Lady Devon, we must find the others quickly, before the Darkness spreads too far." But to where and how far away the others were, he could not say. All he knew, was that they were close, and needed to be together for what was to come next.

Turning to Devon, Norman said, "Come, we must find the Swordsman before he gets too far from the town. Can you have your little friends help us find him? And, perhaps, delay him?"

"I'd be glad to oblige." Devon said, coolly drawing her flute from her pitch black belt. she played a quick call to the doves, and they appeared yet again at the window sill. this time they brought with them a pail of water. As they flew in, they spilled a bit on the Norman's mace, and to Devon's surprise, she heard it curse the birds.

Oh! He's already awake! Said the first.
Indeed he is! Said the second.
And we brought the water all the way here too! Said the third.

Devon rubbed her tamples, I really am getting fed up with doves...
Listen, I need you to look for someone. Devon explained. He's a swordsman, long, jet black hair, and wrapped in gauze. he was the other man when we were playing earlier. Do you remember his face?

What we could see of it. Said the first.
Yes, he must really be hideous to hide behind such a mask. Said the second.
Quite the eccentric young man. Said the third.

Damn these birds She thought. Just go. She said, sending them off. then, turning to Norman, she explained. "Sorry. I can't stand city birds sometimes. They've been around humans so long that they just don't know how to shut up. They will look for our swordsman friend, and will tell me when they do."

Avis listened to her as she explained that she was disliked because she wasn't originally from the area and there was something strange about her apparently. But it seemed she didn't want to tell him all the details. That was fine with him, he would feel rather awkward if she had let out her deepest darkest secrets after only knowing him for such a small time. Plus, that meant he would feel obliged to tell his own to keep things equal.
"No wonder I was getting stares on the way in then," he said, acting as if he hadn't even heard the bit about 'strange facts' "It's pretty obvious when someone new comes into town then?"

He glanced at the window as she offered to make him food, looking at how dark it was and trying to judge how late it was. He should've really gone to find a room soon. It looked like it was pretty late. But he didn't want to upset Nzuri by declining her offer, especially seeing as she said she wanted the company. He smiled a little to her,
"That sounds nice, as long as it doesn't have many of those vegetables..." He replied, chuckling at his little remark at the vegetables, incase she didn't remember his previous mention of his dislike of vegetables.

He shifted his weight from one leg to the other as he continued to lean on the counter of the kitchen. If he was going to be staying for a while, he could ask about the town, to see if there was anywhere he could go to see if he remembered.
"Do you know if there are any recognisable buildings here, like landmarks in this town?" He asked, knowing it probably sounded like an odd question, but it was the only way he thought he could get this information.

"Aye," Norman layed his hand upon Devon's head, sending her a small burst of healing energy, to cure the headache that was slowly forming within her. He removed his hand from her head, and patted her shoulder lightly. "Come, we must find the others," he smiled slightly at her, "We have only one more night, before the slaughter begins, and I must do all that I can to prevent it."

Without another word, Norman bent down and retrieved his mace, then his helmet from the lean-to, and walked back towards Devon. "Come, time is wasting away, and we must gather the others before tomorrow's eve." He strode out the church's gates, then stopped, waiting for her to catch up. "I believe that there may be others, here, within the walls of the town. Perhaps, if we are lucky, they will not have left it, like our Swordsman had a short while ago."

Nzuri glanced up at Avis when he responded; no doubt he heard the part where she mentioned being strange. Could it be that he was choosing to pretend that he had not heard it for her sake? Or perhaps for his own? Which ever she was just glad he had not pressed the subject; she would rather not have possibly lost another friend. Without turning to him she responded, "Though the town is rather large the people here do recognize a new face."

Tossing her finished carrots aside she walked over to her pantry and began plucking things here and there. Whether he stayed or not she already knew what she was going to make, Croque Madame. However, she was happy to hear that Avis would be staying; she couldn't even remember the last time she had company. At the comment of making sure there was no vegetable she raised an eyebrow, "I guess it is a pretty good thing tomatoes only taste like vegetables, otherwise I would have no idea how to keep you healthy." Actually there weren't any tomatoes in the Croque, but she wanted to add a little humor of her own. Placing her gathered items on the counter right next to Avis she turned and started going through some raw meat before pulling out some wrapped and frozen (with quite the useful ice spell only undone by an open flame) boneless chicken breasts -two to be exact. Thinking hard about Avis's last question she finally responded, "Well, I can't say there is however there is a rather large forest right outside it. I believe it is one of the largest on the continent - though I don't believe it is the very largest. I don't really know if that is what you were hoping for, sorry if it wasn't."

Turning to the counter she placed the chicken on the counter; turning again she pulled out some matches and lit her stove. Nzuri then held the chicken over the open flame and almost immediately they were no longer frozen. After this she place a frying pan on the open flame and left it be - for now. Placing the chicken breasts down she began to go through a drawer before finally finding what she was looking for. As she pulled out the rather large blade it made a scraping sound that sent shivers down her spine; along with that she pulled out a rough rock. Almost immediately she began to scrape the edge of the rather dull knife.

Devon followed the Cleric out the door and into the courtyard of the church. The red light of the sunset streaked across the roofs of the town. Distracted by the muttering of two squirrels, she didn't notice Norman open the gate and walk into the busy street. She followed after him.

"I believe that there may be others, here, within the walls of the town. Perhaps, if we are lucky, they will not have left it, like our Swordsman had a short while ago." Norman said, waiting for her.

"Where do you think we should start? I thought maybe the local taverns or inns might have travelers. if the other six are anywhere near here, then we're sure to run into them." Devon pointed out.

Just then one of the stark white doves landed on her shoulder to report in.
It seems you swordsman friend just ran from the town. He's about three miles out... It told her.
When was this? She inquired.
Maybe a sixty seconds ago The bird responded.
And he's already three miles from town?! Devon asked incredulously.

She cursed the stupid man. Then, turning to Norman, said "It seems our idiotic sword wielder is incredibly agile." The Cleric gave her a puzzled look. "This bird says he's just run three miles in a minute. He's left town without us."

Once he'd finished with the spillage he straightened up, flashing another smile he headed towards the bar before being snapped at by another man. Turning his head he looked to see some new arrivals, the man had ordered 'something strong'. Guy headed towards the bar, rolling his eyes, sure he was working but politeness was just decent. He poured a glass of whisky and headed back to the man and the younger girl. Flashing the smile that was beginning to make his jaw ache he set the drink down. "And for you miss?" he asked the woman.

At that moment he heard carrot tops voice, calling to him again. Gritting his teeth Guy looked over. All three men held up their tankards. "Another!" was the order. Guy rolled his broad shoulders. "If you will excuse me miss." he headed to the men to collect their tankards, dodging nimbly around the feet that were stuck out to trip him. He filled the tankards and went back to the three. He set them down. "Will there be anything else?"

They laughed at him, one dipped his fat fingers into the drink and flicked it at him. Gritting his teeth he turned away, his eyes going to the new arrivals and the girl he had failed to take an order from. He headed towards them, but carrot top grabbed his arm. "You didn't wait for my reply."

"I thought the rude laughter was enough." Guy pressed his lips together as he tried to remain calm. He hated his anger, it would burst from him and send these guys through windows if he wasn't careful. Still holding onto his arm, carrot top stood up. He tipped the whole tankard over Guys head. Feeling his anger spike for a moment Guy moved quickly, taking the tankard from carrot top he smashed it round the guys face. Carrot top cried out and crumbled to the floor, his jaw shattered. Guy, still clutching the tankard headed back to the bar. He set the tankard down on the bar and untied his head band, the green material fell away so that his hair fell into his eyes. Wet strands fell across his face and he pushed them back, annoyed but calmer now. Carrot top was pulling himself to his feet, holding his bleeding jaw.

"Iishnii Vahlra," Norman whispered, pointing at the dove. A stream of silver-white energy erupted from his finger, striking the dove, and enveloping it. He watched the bird fall to the ground, unmoving, and held up his hand to stall any arguments from Devon. "Silence," he whispered, "Look, your friend is merely stunned." The dove rose to its feet, and shook itself slightly. He could feel it glare at him, as it turned its head towards him, and he shrugged. "Little one," he squatted down to the birds level, and lifted it gently off the ground.

Setting the bird on Devon's shoulder, Norman sighed, "Light my Way." The bird shuttered once, and relaxed in his hands. "Good bird," he rubbed a finger under it's head, "You know what we're looking for now, yes?" He saw its head bob once in agreement, and he smiled softly. "Good." He stretched his arms for a few moments, muttering, "I'm getting too old for this."

"Your not old, my friend," his mace piped up, "Your a young man with a terrible burden on your shoulders." This comment only made Norman nod his head slowly. "Aye," he whispered. Turning to Devon, he said, "Release your friend, let it fly high above the town. It will lead us to our soon to be companion." He sighed once and thought, 'Gods and Goddesses help us. For soon, we march to war.'

Avis watched her as she gathered her items for dinner, noticing the frozen state of somem of the meat. Curious, Avis wondered whether this girl was a mage. That would explain the 'strange facts'. He didn't think it would be best to push the subject that they'd just managed to push away. He couldn't help but chuckle as she spoke of tomatoes. The farm he stayed on grew tomatoes, and plenty of them. They were one of the few things other than meat that he did like, mainly as he learned to love them after nights of tomatoe soup.
"Keep me healthy?" He chuckled, "Lucky I'm not staying full time then, you'd have a nightmare with me. I've been told it's like feeding a child when it comes to my fussiness."

He continued to watch her as she prepared the food, wanting to offer her his help; though he was sure that a third offer would probably begin to annoy her. He couldn't help it though, he didn't like feeling useless.
He couldn't help but frown a little as she told him that there wasn't really any major landmarks in the area except for the overly large forest nearby. It wasn't exactly what he was looking for. So there wasn't anything specific to look at, he would have to keep an eye out for little details instead; which was probably better seeing as he didn't know what he was supposed to be looking for.

"Oh well," He sighed, guessing he should at least 'explain' why he had asked. "Looks like there's not much sight seeing in this place then..." He lied, not wanting him to sound overly odd.

One might say that Akklanza had no heart. Personally, he thought his heart was made of gold. Or at least it was as cold and hard as gold could be. He never felt remorse for killing, and regarded humans as intelligent cattle. Killing children would by no means be hard on his conscience.

Closely following Bandrial's men, he made sure that he remained hidden. Akklanza would let no mere human detect him. He watched silently as they slaughtered men, women and children alike. Apparently they figured they didn't just have to stop at infants. Out of the corner of his eye, Akklanza noticed a small family escaping, unnoticed by Bandrial's soldiers. Akklanza had one last weapon in his arsenal, and that was his blowgun. He quickly pulled it out and inserted a dart. it was tipped with wolfsbane, a poison from the roots of the Aconitum plant. The poison contains large amounts of alkaloid pseudaconitine, which makes it fatal.

Acting quickly, Akklanza aimed and fired the dart. It hit the mother in the family, causing her to drop. The sudden movement attracted attention from the soldiers, who made sure that the rest of the family were sent to heaven.

β€œMaster!β€œ Lilith whispered to the elderly man. She knew that he had been through a lot, but that didn’t give him a reason to not have any manners. She hoped the β€˜boy’ hadn’t taken any offense to that. Just as she looked up, her bright blue eyes rested on the male who started walking towards the bar. He didn’t seem like he belonged in the town. She really couldn’t put her finger on it. It had to be his icy blue hair. It captivated her. She took a few strands of her hair in her hand to compare. It was then that she heard a unfamiliar voice. Looking up, she found the young male at their table. Master had already started drinking, before he even acknowledge the man.

β€œThank you” she muttered softly, but shot Master a displeasing look. Lilith hadn’t actually been to a place like this, so she wouldn’t know what to order. Luckily for her, she didn’t have to at the time. A long roar could be heard from the table full of boorish men. Lilith couldn’t believe that anyone would act like that. Master had raised her well, even though he didn’t take his own advice anymore. Lilith sat there and watched the poor boy make his rounds to the other table. One could tell that he was getting frustrated. Master set his cup down and looked at the boy. His black eyes narrowed as he watched the boy.

β€œThey shouldn’t have messed with him” Master said seriously. Lilith gave him a confused look, but her attention quickly turned back to the male. It looked like he was going to get into a fight with one of the guys from before. Lilith glanced at Master, who didn’t pay her any mind. β€˜I can’t help. I don’t have my weapons’ she thought with a groan. It pained her to do so, but she would have to sit this one out. Lilith sighed and looked down. She heard a splash, which caused her to flinch. Then she heard something smash and then a loud thump. Lilith finally looked up. The disgusting man was on the floor with a blood stained face. The server was behind the bar without a scratch on him.

β€œI said they shouldn’t have messed with him” Master said with a cough. He chugged down the rest of his whiskey and wiped his beard.

β€œI train quite a few people. I know if someone is strong or not. You should know the Lilith. You are my longest pupil.” Lilith nodded and apologized. She was going to make another comment, but Master stood up. He gave her a little pouch full of coins.

β€œI’ll be back my dear. Wait here for me”

β€œMaster where are you going?” Lilith called out, but it was too late. He had left. She stared blankly at the door, before turning back around.

Guy sighed as he wrung out the wet band and tied it around his wrist. His shoulders were a little wet but it was mostly his hair. He shook it out, still frowning. Carrot top was sitting at his table, looking humiliated. Guy cocked an awkward smile as he tied the band around his head again, to keep his now wet hair from his eyes. He looked up as the door opened and closed as someone left, looking he saw that there was now a girl on her own. He filled a glass with fresh orange juice and headed over to her. He set the drink down, "Sorry, I didn't hang around to get your order earlier, if you don't like orange, I'll get you something else. Just call me." he smiled, noticing her blue eyes now that he had more time. He tapped the table then headed back to his place behind the bar. He took a cloth from under it and began wiping it down. He flicked his gaze to the blue eyed girl to see if she was okay with the juice. Perhaps she wanted something stronger? There was a question in his eyes.

Lilith looked inside the pouch and counted a few of the coins. She hoped he gave her enough to pay for his order. She set the pouch on the table and pulled out her own. There wasn’t much in hers either, but at least it would add up. Lilith placed the two money holders in her lap and waited for Master to come back. She couldn’t believe he had left her. Lilith couldn’t believe that she let him go. This caused her to feel stupid for letting him go. β€˜I can’t believe I let that happen’ she thought and frowned. She would have been wallowing in her own self pity, if the sound of a cup being put down didn’t distract her. The young man from before had given her a drink.

β€œThank you” Lilith said with a small smile. She looked down at the orange liquid with a curious expression. Master had taught her to live a simple and pleasant life. They only drunk water, and ate organic items. She was even surprised that Master drank the dark liquid he had ordered. Lilith wouldn’t know how to live in a town like this without learning about his culture. Looking at the cup again, Lilith would normally look at Master for approval, but this time, she looked at the male. When her glaze caught his, she quickly looked away. β€˜Why do I need Master here? I can do this on my own’ Lilith thought with a grin. β€˜Here goes nothing’ she thought with a tiny sigh. Lilith took the cup and raised it towards her lips. When she tasted the familiar sweet, yet tangy orange flavor, Lilith smiled.

β€œIt’s a orange” she said cheerfully. She then looked at the guy and smiled.

Nzuri half smirked after hearing the Avis was apparently quite fussy and that it was practically impossible to make him eat healthy food. Soon after she chopped her chicken breasts in half and lifted the knife, "Oh, I have my ways of making people do what I want them to," she caught herself immediately, "I don't mean by harming them of course. I would never forgive myself if I did that."

Avis did ask a couple a times if there was anything he could do to help, she politely refused. Cooking was one of the few things she had at least a tiny bit of confidence in; of course, she couldn't help but hope that confidence wasn't shattered tonight. Soon Nzuri started adding different ingredients into a bowl and proceeded to stir it almost violently. When she was done she had a nice and creamy substance that coul easily make someone's stomach rumble at first glance. Moving on she turned back to her pan and buttered it before placing it on her wood stove and then tossed in one of her chicken breasts. Occasionally she would add other ingredients but most of the sime she simply stopped and waited before flipping each half over. When she thought the chicken was done she stuck it on a plait and got to work on the next one; repeating the same process and stuck that one on a different plate.

Vaguely she responded to Avis's comment about sight-seeing, "Well, that is certainly a first. I have yet to meet another person here for the same reason." Turning around with two chickens cooked to perfection she poured her recently made sauce on top and then proceeded to sprinkle some chopped basil on top. Even if no one else thought so, Nzuri thought this meal looked positively delightful and filling. "Here," she spoke handing one of the plates to Avis and then taking her seat at one of the chairs in her living room.

Peter, upon hearing the sound of a tankard whacking someone, glanced back. Looked like one of the patrons was just whacked by the waiter. Not a pretty sight, but that particular patron and his cohorts were making quite a ruckus, so Peter assumed it was well-deserved. Shrugging, Peter returned back to the task of just staring dully at the table. The affairs of city folk really weren't his problem - or so he believed. Their way of lifestyle was so alien compared to the frugal one that he had lived for most of his life. The luxuries that people indulged themselves with perplexed him. All anyone needed, his guardian taught, was food, water, shelter, and company. Sure, the occasional tankard of ale was fine - truth be told, this stuff wasn't half bad, but Peter's life had always been filled with a fair amount of restraint and self-discipline.

Plus, they were dirt poor. In all honesty, a hermit and a young boy aren't going to be able to work for anything, so everything came with the aid of the near-by village.

Departing from his realm of thought, Peter looked around, getting a better look at the customers. There was a girl about his age with an old man - grandfather or mentor, guessed Peter - who had just left. the inn. Hoisting his leg over the bench he was on, Peter swiveled around, and leaned backwards, with his lower back touching the table. Gazing upwards, he was met with the crisscrossing wooden beams - a sheer contrast from the clear skies that he had lived by for many, many years. Sighing, Peter glanced at his half-empty tankard, and took a quick sip.

((Don't mind if I place Peter in with Lilith and Guy. I didn't specify the town, and the setting for your characters happened to be an inn. For the sake of simplification, I decided to let Peter be in the same inn.))

The troops had soon reached the towns, and the slaughter had begun at its gates. Guards fought unsuccessfully to keep the sadistic fighters at bay, the gates soon came crashing down and families were following suit. Mothers, fathers, and especially their children, all dying at their hand. Blood filled the streets, death cries mingled with pleas of desperation, all part of the symphony Bandrial had created. She was the conductor, each person a note, all creating terrible harmonies.

The comet was only hours away. Bandrial waited in her castle, Warren by her side. She knew he was loyal. That he would die to protect her. Flagg at the gates, a beast that could not be defeated easily. Alisia, who wanted her mother back to much to let Bandrial die.
She couldn't figure out why she was so scared.

The comet was only hours away. Bandrial waited in her castle, silently fearing the morning.

Avis couldn't help but chuckle again as Nzuri lifted the blade, telling him that she had his way of dealing with this, laughing a little more as she suddenly apologised for her words.
"I'm sure you wouldn't do that..." He replied, falling quiet again as he watched her cook the meat and make a sauce. Well it seemed to be smelling pretty good so far.

He mentally cursed himself as Nzuri mentioned that she'd never met another person with the same intentions as himself. That was a pretty stupid reason to come to a town like this for. He made a small note to himself to plan his excuses better if he wasn't going to tell anyone about his little secret. For now he'd have to keep this act going for a little while longer.
"Really?" He said, his tone sounding as surprised as he could make it. "I thought there might be other travellers like me looking for all the best sights."

He piped down again as he was handed a plate, following Nzuri to sit in one of the empty seats. It must've been hard to have all these empty chairs in her home all the time. He was hesitant at first about trying something new, but he didn't want to be rude after all the effort Nzuri had made into making it for him. He took the first mouthful and was pleasantly surprised, the liking of the dish obvious in his expression.
"If all your dishes are like this, maybe you'd be able to convert me to a vegetable lover." Unlikely, but he thought it was worth saying. "What's this called?"
He was pretty sure he'd never had this before, though perhaps the name of the dish would sound familiar.

About as familiar as the faint cries he could hear from outside. He hesitated again before taking the next bite, his golden gaze having wandered out of the open window. He listened carefully, not exactly liking what he heard. Distress, and lots of it. He glanced at Nzuri, wondering if she could hear it too. As to not seem rude again, he continued with his meal, absent mindly chewing at the chicken as he listened to the cries. He was trying to see if the distress was moving towards them, a nervous feeling rushing over him. If there was something big moving through the town, then it would mean that himself and Nzuri were in danger.

"It seems that we are too late," Norman began to weep suddenly, his hand going to his chest, "The war has already begun." The cries of the people washed over the church, flooding the courtyard with men and women in different colored robes. Many began to shake with fear, and he knew that if he did not stop them from the grip of fear, he would lose them completely. "MY brothers, my sisters, listen to me," he roared above their voices, smiling sadly as they hushed and turned to him. "I know you are all scared, for fear has begun to grip me as well, but we must stand strong. These people are our charges, and it is our duty to protect them." He watched as sanity came back to their eyes, and saw many nodded.

"What must we do, Lord Norman?" One called out to his left, and Norman turned towards the speaker saying, "Those of you who remember the old ways, put on your armor, and retrieve your weapons. Though you may have forgotten how to battle, our Goddess does not, and will return to you, that lost knowledge." He watched as many men and women vanished into the church, and turned towards the others. "Retrieve the holy relics of our Goddess, for these soldiers will take them, and will melt them down for their gold. If these soldiers want them so badly, why not give it to them." Many around him grinned evilly at that thought, and knew that most, if not all, of the relics were used to heal and give comfort. However, that is only if used in a peaceful environment, and if the environment were to change to a violent one, the results would be catastrophic.

Norman watched as the rest of the crowd vanish into the church, and felt an eternity pass before all of them returned. He watched as many men and women, all of them past their prime, walk as though they were young once more. "Father Jerad," he called out to a man wearing plate mail armor, and looked more like a large steel wolf than a man. Father Jerad walked over to him, and saluted once, "Father Jerad," he began, "this is the Lady Devon," he pushed Devon towards him, "We need her protected, can you do this?"

Father Jerad stared hard at the girl, obviously making her uncomfortable, then said, "Is she one of them?" When Norman nodded he said, "Aye, for as long as the Goddess keeps me breathing, and beyond." The two men clasped hands and nodded once.

Norman turned towards Devon and hugged her once, "Devon, I need you to stay with Father Jerad, alright? There's a war to be fought, and you are not yet ready. If your caught up in it, and cannot flee, then I want you to use these." He took a pair of blackened steel claws from one of the young men, who merely nodded, and was probably upset of not being able to use them. "These claws have there own special properties, as I am sure you will find out soon." He patted her head softly, and added, "Father Jerad is more wolf than man, you know. He hasn't let it loose for a few years, and is probably excited about the coming battle. If you see a large silver and white wolf, that would be him." He chuckled softly and went back to the others.

"Listen up," Norman roared, "Warriors of the Goddess, up front. Relic Users next, followed by any archers, then our Clerics. We may be small, but if we're going down, we're taking as many as we can with us." He led the small army out the gate, down their side road, and onto the main road. They all saw the army pouring through their gates, and all of them lifted up their weapons, shields, and relics, feeling them burn white hot in their hands. The madness of battle fell over many of his people, as they charged the army, shouting, "For the glory of our Goddess, you shall all taste our wrath," as holy and enchanted weapons flew, along with arrows and the Goddess's blessed magic.

Akklanza simply watched as Bandrial's army came under siege from a smallish group of people. "Interesting. Looks like we may have an actual challenge on our hands, boys." he whispered silently to himself. He was unsure whether he should join or not. He wanted to, and would most likely be able to fend them off, but figured it would be a better idea to remain hidden.

"There's nothing quite like watching a battle unfold."

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

You didn't miss much. Hasn't been active for a while. I've been waiting for AA to post myself.

Oh, in case you guys didn't notice, we're one Swordsman short now.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Did I miss a lot? Can someone fill me in please? I'm going to try and post tonight.
:]

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

I ending up having to wait anyway.
Overslept this morning.

Thank you for your ideas, I am sorting through them and creating a post currently.

I'm Giving some time for the groups to meet up and then i shall post the character who's side quest is coming up.

For now. Continue on.

A post of some sort will happen in the morning.

Thanks for your patience.

Sincerely

_AA_

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

I've actually been fairly busy this weekend - too busy to think up of an idea for that. If you would mind holding off on the trial part until later today so that I could PM you my idea, I would greatly appreciate that.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Okay, since no one has really given me ideas.

(aside from Vulgar)

I will post in the morning and just go with it, if you have any complaints feel free to pm me.

Please keep in mind, that the arrival to the comet should happen a bit later, all the "trials" so to say, should happen prior to anyone getting to the comet.

I will post in the morning.

Thanks,

_AA_

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

No one has sent me ideas yet, and i cant really post till then.

Please, send me some ideas for your characters major side quest.

I cant decide who goes first, what sequence yadda yadda yadda until i have everyone planned out..

Please and thank you

_AA_

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

That sounds pretty cool. I like that idea.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

1. I have been keeping up with what has happening since the beginning so I have got you covered.

also I apologize for my long absence I am afraid I will have to extend this again. The quarter ends for my school in less than a week so I am desperatly trying to catch up after having missed a week just last week. soooo I apologize. You would not believe that I have been working since I got home all week and am doing it again tonight. Again, I apologize.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Ive decided that before you reach the comet each of the characters will have a Side Quest so to say.

Or a trial, that surrounds their character.

I have a few ideas but i need some more.

If you have something significant you want for your character, please pm me. I'm trying to get all this in motion so the first one can start tonight..

Sincerely

_AA_

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Okay guys, Sorry for my absence yesterday, my internet was down.
Got some errands to run today so i might not be on much...
What I can promise you however, is that tonight at some point the first plot thing will happen.

What I request is someone keep up with where everyone is and what is happening so I can catch up when I get back. (You know since we can't go back pages.)

Please and thank you.
See you tonight.

Sincerely,
_AA_

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

That's coo'.

*constructive post*

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

i'll put her just outside the gate, trying to find her brothers' bodies.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Mmk. Just have her crying her eyes out at an inn or something.

I mean that in the nicest possible way. >.>

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

@Zetta

I can have Devon mourn until Peter arrives, and then we can have them travel together, because it seems Alex and Norman have already left the town. Sound good?

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

I'm going to give it a while to settle and then Bandrial's plots to stop you will commence.

Keep in mind, i have a plot for each of your characters.
I will pm you with details. I want your input so we can both decide a cool side quest like thing for them.

Good luck travelers..

May the gods watch over you.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

In-character. The end of Peter's post is dawn of the day following the comet. I intend on him arriving at that town sometime later that day.

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

that sounds fine to me Zetta, i think Alex has kinda ditched our group for the moment... define IC?

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

I'm thinking of having Peter arrive at the same town as Norman, Devon, and Alex sometime during the next IC day, probably around midday or in the evening. What do you guys think?

Re: [OOC] The Prophecy

Thank you kindly. :]
