Geese, sorry.....but he said indestructible ring shaped teleportation devices, and that makes me think stargate. Cause the creators of them, the Ancients died out. So you can see how i could think that....

Yeah, I can. The Jumpgates made me think of the Mass Relays in Mass Effect, and the mysterious extinction made me think of the Prothean, also from Mass Effect.
