Stealing Hearts (FoxyRoxy and Conquerer)

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby FoxyRoxy on Wed Mar 04, 2009 10:31 pm

(I am going to set this in modern times)

The night had begun just like any other, a graceful climb up a glass wall into an open window. A creep through the corridors of another dark building and a fearless fall from a height no one in their right mind would want to contemplate. She walked away from the place a prize worth at least a couple million in her hand, and a sense of satisfaction that boiled her heart. Her feat would appear on the morning news with a headline that went something like this..."Fearless Thief steals again, getting away with the world's second largest diamond." It was so pathetic...Fearless thief as if she was some sort of a passing fad.

No one had been able to catch her, the police had tried but had terribly failed. Others had also tried, each with an interesting tactic, none with a brain to overthrow their ego with. The fact that she was female escaped them all, none had even thought of that fact. Men were so predictable, they see her curves and tend to only think one way.

She took the advantage then, because she really liked to play with the other sex. Her heels clicked along the quiet sidewalk as she walked to her car, she opened up the door the Bentley...a toy she knew she could never do without, and drove away.

What she wouldn't give for a worthy opponent?

A man was sitting in his car, a quiet inconspicous Dodge Charger, though only inconspicous for this rather nice area of the city. He had been tipped off that someone was going to hit this bank, and now he had the person who did. He was sort of an anti-theif, one who steals from thiefs. He didn't like to get his hands dirty so he preffered to let someone else do it, and then he would take it from them. It always worked, and the police could never nail him for anything since he never stole the money in the first place. Think this through in his head, he knew this would be no differnt than any of the other times.

He had seen a figure with a rather large dufle bag exit the building and get into a Bently. As the car passed him, he pulled out and followed the thief. He stayed far enough behind to seem like he wasn't following the person, but just enought to keep the car insight when it turned a corner. He smirked to him self in the mirror, "This is going to be easy."

She drove for a little while, just in various directions. She was not trusting and never went straight to her destination. She only noticed one thing the Dodge that was following her, even if the driver was trying to look like they weren't. "So you want to play", she found herself back in her part of town and decided against going home. The night was young, why waste it by lounging around on her couch and doing nothing. She drove her car down to a little clubbing area and parked down a dark alley. One of the buildings was guarded by a guy who looked like he spent to many hours in the gym, he nodded at her as she walked by inside.

A red neon sign hung outside...it said The Grotto.

Inside there was throbbing music, and some interestingly dressed characters in it. It seemed like the theme for the night was leather and lace, a perfect setting for a theif looking for a night out, only question was the person following her man enough to come in.

"Damn," he thought, "I'm going to have to be more thought full in my approach to this." He parked his car, and got out. He noticed the rather large bouncer. "Hey, my brother, hows it going," he greated the bouncer. He slapped him some skin, and the bouncer nodded for him to go in. The bouncer had been one of his contacts before, and they rather hit it off.

He entered the bar, though he didn't look around to try and find the theif. That would be pointless since he realy didn't know what the thief looked like, and it would give him away. As of right now neither knew what the other looked like.

She may not have known what he looked like, but she knew the car he drove. She found herself watching the enterance that she came in, knowing that very few people came in that door and the fact that it was rather late. She had changed in the bathroom, fitting right in with the crowd. She looked more like a woman, in her leather pants and lacy top, her red curls hung about her shoulders. Yet the most interesting thing was hanging about her neck, it looked to be diamond about the size of goose egg. She was vying for attention, and playing a game.

She noticed the guy who entered, sized him up for something else other then a cop and quirked an eyebrow.

So what was he following her for...

He walked to the bar, ordered a cherry soda, and waited. He didn't look around, but he checked the bar mirror. The people here were dancing, drinking, and he was pretty sure some one was doing something they should in public in the corner. His eyes caught a glimmer, a rather large diamond. No one else had any jewlery like that here. That set his "Just doesn't feel right" sense. He walked over to her, tipping an imaginary hat, "Ma'am."

She smirked at him, "Ma'am," she repeated, "what do I look like your grandmother, you can call me Aslinne." Aslinne motioned to the bartender who brought her a beer, "so what brings you out tonight, something catch your attention."

As the music throbbed in the background, she gave him a once over, this place was definatly not his scene. He looked uncomfortable, and he wasn't even drinking she could tell by the carbonated bubbles in his drink. She took a sip of her drink, and watched the crowd. Yes some of them were doing things that they shouldn't do in public, but that was what someone should expect when coming to a place like this. And then there was the men...who were wearing leather in rather interesting ways, that shouldn't be seen anywhere not even in a place like this.

"Why yes, something did catch my attention, Aslinne," he said, "Necklace actualy, it is rather nice, and something not seen in a place like this." He sipped his soda. He looked at her, though not directly. She was fit, very fit. He would say almost like a thief. Though she could just be gymnist who has a leather fetish. "Why are you here?" he asked frankly.

She smiled at him, "it was a gift...," she didn't look at it, but touched it with one of her fingers. It was a gift from a very rich lady who didn't keep it in a very safe place, of course nothing was very safe from her. It was like she had itchy fingers or something. She took another sip from her drink, "and how do you know what is seen in a place like this."

She moved her curls from her shoulder and looked watched the crowd. There were some cute guys in the crowd, one had been checking her out since she left the ladies room. The one next to her was starting to annoy her, if he didn't give her a reason to stick around then maybe she wonder off and go flirt with a couple guys. She thought maybe he would be a more intereting...he had followed her here, so was all he after was the money.

Of course she could also see that he was just sort of guessing

"You see that guy over there hitting on the girl with the martiny," he said pointing while not looking, "He slipped her a rape drug five minutes ago, and the guy over there grinding with the two women over there, he's not interested in them at all, he's got eyes for guy sitting on the bar stole at the end of the bar." He took a sip of his drink. He liked her style, strong but sly. "You are not like any of them, you keep you calm, you arn't distracted by the guy who is grabbing his junk and winking at you, and you have a rather nice figure compaired to the rediculusly sized breasts these women have," he said in a warm tone.

She looked at him wondered if he gave her a compliment or not. "That's rather observant of you," she commented. "Well do you see the girl over there with the snake tattoo, she is actually a mommy of three, and there is one on the way and that ain't her husband she is dancing with because she took her wedding ring off." She wondered what the point was of this game, was it just to tell her she had a nice figure. SHe cracked a half-grin, "I work out, among other things, what is it that you do sir."

She watched the crowd and considered a few other options for the night...there wasn't anyone in the bar that she would even consider going home with, well he was pretty cute she guessed. He drove a nice car, but what was he doing at the building she robbed that is what made her curious.

"Various things, right now I work for a group who invests in bank speculations," he said, "and if your wondering, that was a complement I was trying to give you." He finished his drink, and slide the glass to the bar tender. "How about you, what do you do?" he asked.

"I approiate different things for various clients as a means to augment their capital," well she was sort of telling the truth, she had worked for people in the past, now it was mostly for herself. She looked at the time as the bartender called last call. "I know this all night cafe down the street, they serve a mean hamburger even at 4 in the morning and its a little quieter would you care to join me, Mr."

Well she thought it would be a little quieter, sometimes the some of the people from the bar seemed to like going there. Aslinne looked at him realizing that she hadn't even gotten his name

"You may call me Mr. Smith, and that would be great, I'm rather hungry," he said, "your car or mine?" He stopped leaning on the bar, and stepped a bit from it as the last of the buzzards crowded around to get there drinks. He pushed a couple of them away, as they got too close to him for comfort.

She smirked...who did he think he was the guy from the Matrix.

"We can walk," she said, "its to close to waste the gas," and anyways she did let anyone in her car if she could help it. There were to many items in there that had questions to them, and she wasn't that trusting just to get into his.

"Anyways fresh air will do me some good," she started toward the enterance hoping to get away from the people in there. Last call was always hazarderous in the place anyways, it was the last drink before returning to reality, which was so sad for some of these people.

"Fine by me," he said. He waited for her to get her stuff, and walked out the door with her. As he left, he knuckle bumped the bouncer. "How long have you been going to this joint?" he asked.

The night was brisk, and slightly damp. The city never sleeps, and it was true for this one as well. He could hear dogs barking, people screaming, and a gunshot in the distance. He cursed him self for leaving his pistol in his car. All he had on him was knife shethed on his back, hidden by his loose jacket.

She considered her answer wondering which joint he was talking about. "If you are talking about the club, not long cause well the crowd is always the same night after night, if you are talking about the hamburger place, 5 or 6 years, its the only place in the area to get a good meal anytime you want."

What she didn't tell him was that she personally knew the owner and most of the staff and that they serve the meanest slice of coconut cream pie in the city. She considered them more of a family then her own but it was weird for her to come to the cafe with anyone. She always ate alone, usually because there was no one else.

A few blocks from the club a well lit 50's style diner was perched on a street corner. It wasn't to crowded as there were a few booths left inside. She walked inside nodded to the lady at the cash register and then led him to a booth in the corner. It was the most secluded in the place, even when it was overrun with customars.

She had put on a jacket and had zipped it up on the way over to the cafe...it was getting chilly out and well you just didn't walk through the kind of neighborhood that they just walked through sporting a diamond around your neck. It was well hidden, and almost could be forgotten about. The waitress, a blond with really pretty blue eyes comes up to the booth, "hey Linn (Lynn) you want your usually." Aslinne looked at her, "sure." She looked at him wondering if he was ready or not.

"Lynn here recommended the Hamburger, so that is what I will have," he said to the waitress. He wasn't very hungry, but he didn't mind a good hamburger regardless of his fullness. "Also, a cup of coffee, please," giving his order to the waitress. She left, and he returned his attention to Lynn. She was rather beautifull, but he knew if she was the theif, than he could not let his heart tangle him up. He stood strait, and cracked his back, relieving some stress built up in his muscles. "This is a rather nice place, how did you find out about it?" he asked.

"I had a really good friend who brought me here the first night I moved to the city," Aslinne answered, "she told me it was a good place to escape from reality for awhile. No one judges you, no one looks at you the wrong way. There is always a smile and never a suspicious look." Which was true for even the cops that came around during their patrols.

Speaking of which...Aslinne couldn't help but notice the two detectives at the end of the counter. The woman she knew, but the man she had not been acquainted with, she hated the new blood in the police station, they were always out to prove something, she especially hated it when they came to her diner. She often wondered if the experiences cops brought the rookies here for show and tell or something.

This is the place you go to when looking for the scum of the earth, she would often think that they said as they were leaving. Which seemed really wrong because of the fact they were grouping the normal ones in with the scum.

The neighborhood had gotten better, less violent crimes more petty ones. It was probably less obvious for a stranger however you couldn't get around the fact that the hood was still bad. "So other then your day job, what else do you do for shits and giggles."

Before he could answer the waitress brought their order out, his hamburger that came with a order of steak fries and his coffee. Hers ended up being a mushroom and swiss burger with a chocolate milkshake. The milkshake had a good amount of whip cream on it with a cherry on top. Instead of fries, that she absolutely loved it came with a small side salad (as if she was trying to watch her weight or something).

All the things that they would need to put on their hamburger's was already on the table.

He put a large dollop of mustard, ketchup, and mayo on his burger. "Ah for shits and giggles," he said in contemplation, "well, I like to sail, but I don't do it that often, but most of the time I'm travling on behalf of my employer." He took a large bite from his burger. The condements bleed from teh back and onto his plate. He used the fries to clean it up. "And what about you?" he asked.
