This is a rp about feudal japan mixed with steampunk.
Plot: It is the 16th century in Japan. Thanks to the technology found in a ruin the world has steam powered machinery and life seemed to have gotten easier but there are still threats in Japan like ninjas, rogue steamborgs and feudal lords. The story is about the seemingly peaceful area of Kagoshima. The recent bandit raids have interrupted the peace. The lord of Kagoshima is looking for mercenaries to get rid of the bandits. But when the bandits are gone, new threats await. Some of the threats could be big enough to change the future of Japan.

Location: Kagoshima area

Information: Steamborgs: Steamborgs are people who have mechanical modifications similar to Cyborgs but in comparison rely on steam energy and modifications seem a little more primitive.

Rules: No godmodding
You have to be able to post at least once every day or you will be skipped.
No characters who dont fit to the rp: like vampires or people with western names exceptions are chinese and korean names.

Alignment: Appears to be lawful good but her plans are rather chaotic evil.

Personality: Kind, caring, would rather kill someone or something which is injured to end their suffering, when killing she gives the appearance of a kind yet evil maiden.
Background: Sakura was adopted by a samurai teacher at the age of 6. She was the teachers best student. When she was 16 she heard her teacher talk with a soldier about killing her since she was the daughter of a powerful man. That night when her teacher was going to kill her, he found her bed to be empty. He didnt notice her standing behind him until a long sword went through his back and out of his stomach. When the other students found out they attacked Sakura. She massacred every one of them. After leaving her dead teacher and the school she left to kill for money. She let herself be modified with mechanics since she wanted to be stronger. Her modification isnt visible. Now she has come to Kagoshima to earn some money. Evil plans are to be revealed in the rp.

Name: Shiratori Ikue

Abilities: Master swordsman. Above average speed and strength.

Weapons: Wields a Uchigatana and a wakizashi in respective sides.

Alignment: Indifferent.

Personality: Quiet but to the point. Shy yet bold. Observant and laid back. Shiratori takes the day individually. Somewhat short tempered to ignorance. Combative and challenging.Weakness to those who can not protect themselves. Respectful to most elders and the likes.

Background: Ikue grew up in a small village just outside of Kagoshima. Her father, Shiratori Kenji fourth in command, was betrayed by his trusted friend, Shoji Akeno. Wanting his position in rank, Akeno murdered her father. Akeno --out of jealousy-- raped her mother and forced Ikue to be his slave.

Ikue and her mother, Mai, tried to escape from Akeno, but Ikue was the only one who could escape. Tearing and aching because her mother had to stay behind, Ikue had to take care of herself. She took with her her fathers' Uchigatana and wakizashi and his teachings as well as her mothers' elegance.

At age 16, she came back for her mother, but only to find her dead and gone. Akeno had long forgotten the looks of her and thought she was child prostitute. Ikue took that into advantage. In his vulnerable state, she straddle his waist reaching at the right side of her obi as if she was undoing herself. Akeno stared at her golden brown eyes then shortly closed them to relish in such delight. To his demise, Ikue quickly and swiftly ended his life with a graceful slash across his neck.

Now at age 23 Ikue wanders Kagoshima as a bounty-hunter. Her name spoken like some ghost. They new about a female slaying those with bounty on their heads, but no one ever knew what she looked like. When one does, it was the last thing they'd see.

Alignment: Refuses to disturb the "natural" flow of events [Neutral?]

Personality: Keeps to himself, tries to be a pacifist

Background: (I know its a bit corny, but hey I tried)

Ishimaru belongs the Shigehito Clan, one the the last order or pure ninja's or at least he used to. Since the age of five Ishimaru has been trained to be a ninja, subjected to unfavorable conditions and aggressive environments. This allowed him to get used to being in any stressful situation and react to it in more flexible and balanced way. Training in the atmosphere of real action prepared him for being able to work out instant and spontaneous reaction to the changes in the environment, stir up spare capacities of one's body, use creative thinking and make up quick non-standard decisions in extreme conditions.

After thirteen years of training Ishimaru was finally ready to become an assassin and to prove his loyalty they gave him one final test, he must make his first kill. The instructor led him to an secluded courtyard where he saw someone was squirming tied to a stake, it was his mother. Naturally Ishimaru refused and they asked him again he refused again, realizing that Ishimaru would not change his mind his instructor in one fluid motion lopped off his mother head.

Ishimaru was traumatized, overcome with rage Ishimaru attacked his master of thirteen years, he overwhelmed the old man easily and cut him apart limb from limb. Ishimaru took off quickly after that as to avoid being overwhelmed by his clan. A year has passed since then and he has been running ever since practicing a life of peace.

Clothing: As displayed, tight fitting black cloth mostly. Ebon silk strapps down the ends of the arm and leg portions, with wood and iron pads over them. Lightly padded cloth with a layer of tempered and softened leather serve as shoes, and the last item of note would be the long scarf used to protect the nose, mouth, and eyes when necessary.

Occupation: Hyonma Clan Ninja (Mercenary)

Abilities: Enhanced agility and dexterity, Excellent stealth movement, Extreme resistance to poison

Weapons: Twin ninjato in katana-length scabbards wrapped with a thin black hemp rope, the long hilts of the which each house a couple ounces of toxic powder made from the dried skin of the poison arrow frog. A tessen with sharpened edges lined with black scorpion venom rests horizontally across his lower back. Four bamboo needles coated with the potent toxin of the torafugu puffer-fish are hidden inside small incisions within his mouth, one each side of his gums.

Alignment: True Neutral

Sexuality: Straight

Personality: Fairly introverted most of the time. On a good day he is amorous, friendly and even boisterous. On a bad day however, Shoku lashes out at whoever so much as looks at him the wrong way.

Background: Born into one of the lesser known ninja clans, Shoku Hyonma was raised to do little else than eliminate targets. From a young age his body was subjected to small doses of imported deadly venoms daily in order to build up an immunity to his clan's favored weapon of choice; Poison. Over the years the boy's freedom to leave the Hyonma compound increased, and so did his knowledge of the outside world. Soon enough Shoku actually grew attached to some people and knew happiness. After the torture and poisoning he was subjected to during training, the actual killing of targets came naturally. It disturbed the head of the Hyonma clan slightly that Shoku showed no remorse for his actions, even on the first kill. As a result, the young ninja's friends never even knew he was a killer.
The Hyonma clan eventually decided to increase the potential battle ability of their main assassin through mechanical surgery. The operation was a success and Shoku's limbs and torso were enhanced. The mechanical enhancements manifest as metallic plates grafted into the skin on the back of Shoku's biceps and calves, they seem almost as if to be discolored patches of skin themselves. His reaction time and mobility increased by a fair amount, and he truly earned his keep within the family. A minor operation within his mouth was also done, slicing and cauterizing incisions to create four 'pouches' within his mouth to house needles in. It took him a while to learn how to roll them out with his tongue for quick use. His most recent assignment is now to aid in the bandit extermination in Kagoshima.

Weapons: Originally 2 Katanas, but he gave one of them to Tsukiko

Personality: Mamoru is described around Japan as notorious, and skillful. When people are near him, they can see someone who doesn't want to be bothered with. However, he is protective of children, and someone in need of help. This is why he is protecting Tsukiko.
Background: Mamoru was born in the middle of war and turmoil, being the grandson of two emperors against each other, which is why Mamoru has been living, in secrecy, with his mother in the royal city of Kyoto. While people did know of Mamoru's existence, they never knew who the father was, growing a bit suspicious of her.

Starting at age 5, Mamoru had been trained in the various styles of the samurai, such as iaido, kenjutsu, and several ryus of Jujutsu, killing samurai along the way, who were, to him, just practice. He was quite respected by his maternal grandfather, and Mamoru was, forever, loyal to him, but when Mamoru was 20, his maternal grandfather died of illness, leading to his son becoming emperor. Mamoru's uncle, unlike his grandfather, was ruthless, and arrogant. Many council meetings concluded with unplanned battles. Mamoru decided to run out on his own because of his uncle's pronounced "dictatorship" of the empire. He walked with no direction, but just to survive independently.

Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Steamborg
Appearance: As seen on picture
Clothing: White kimono with white stockings
Occupation: None
Abilities: Flight (she can jump higher than average)
Weapons: Katana and mechanical right arm w/claws
Alignment: Neutral
Sexuality: None. She has never experienced love.
Personality: Tsukiko is generally calm, and silent. She is likely to defend herself when in battle, but she refuses to start a battle with anyone.
Background: Tsukiko was born in the Shigehito clan, in which she cannot identify, because she was "physically" born there, but wasn't raised there, as her unknown mother hid her someone in a forest, because her mother did not want her. Tsukiko's father was killed in battle by the Shigehito Clan. The mother fell in love with the father, but since he was killed, she had no choice but to rid of the newborn Tsukiko before the ninja found out about her.

Tsukiko was found by villagers, who heard her loud cries in the forest. They picked her up, and raised her as their own, although they were growing to be worried of her past, based on her mysterious appearance.

At age 19, she was eventually found by ninjas of the Shigehito Clan, killing the villagers that raised her, and cutting her entire right arm off in the process of escaping. She had to feel that serious pain on her shoulders for the rest of her life. She never knew why the ninjas instantly attacked her, but all she knew was that they were now her true enemies.

During that time, some people were getting upgrades and mechanical enhancements all around Japan. Tsukiko was one of them, wanting to receive a mechanical arm after losing her real one. Once the creation was done, she swore vengeance on the ninjas.

Oh, Anii, what's your opinion on PvP? Cuz I find fighting other rpers more of a challenge than lil npc bandits >:3 muahaha. I mean, I'm not gunna be targetting other players alot, just clashes. Unless killing them furthers the plot...hehehe.

Name: Katsu Jun
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Mixed together, these pictures make Katsu Jun. Like in the first picture, Katsu has short, but wild looking hair and a young appearance to his features. However, he has a serious appearance on his face most of the time and carries two swords, like pictures number two.

Clothing: Katsu wears dark robes but is in no way evil. He keeps to the shadows and always has his hands resting on his weapon.

Occupation: Wanderer

Abilities: A master in double sword fighting, physically stronger/better than most boys his age which includes speed, strength, and wisdom.

Weapons: Two swords that once belonged to his father

Alignment: Being a wanderer, Katsu only serves to help himself, but if given the chance, he would do anything to help another in need.

Sexuality: Straight

Personality: Katsu Jun is a difficult case to unfold. Whenever he travels alone, he looks out only for himself, which means stealing from merchants for some food or hiding in a basement for a place to sleep. He uses his stiff and some-what angry expressions like a shield, hiding the fact that he has a soft heart. He cares deeply for those that are in need of help or that he has gotten close to. He hates death, but is a master of taking away life. If he can, he'll spare his enemies, but not at the cost of someone innocent. He does what he can for the good of others around him, until he gets back on the road again all alone and to himself.

Background: Katsu was born the son of a poor swordsman named Maru Jun. Maru made a living as a soldier when he was young, and then retired when he had his son Katsu born. From their he began making a life as a teacher, training young children to defend themselves. He took out most of his more difficult training sessions on Katsu, planning to make him a strong warrior so he too could become a soldier. All of that was put to waste when Katsu turned 13.

Katsu had a spirit that could not be contained, and the poor, worthless life was not for him. Instead, he left his father's side and went out into the world searching for a path of his own. For a long time he hunted for his food, using the skills he had learned from his father to sustain himself. Then he began doing random work for people, such as delivering a shipment of goods safely or hunting down a murderer. He did anything that would give him money, which some would call a mercenary. But there was one thing that set Katsu apart from mercenarys. He never did any reckless or evil jobs like murdering innocence or stealing. He tried his best to do what he knew was right.

As he grew older, he became well known as a wanderer. Walking from village to village, seeking work and money. But this was not as exciting as he had thought it would be. He was constantly alone, not having anyone close to him to call friend. It was better that way, because he moved faster on his own and was able to find good work. But he always felt a bit of misery when he saw a group of people walking around together, and he sat in the darkness alone.

Now at age 19, Katsu does what he can to make his mark in the world, doing more jobs for money and experience. During his travels, he soon hears that the lord of Kagoshima is looking for mercenaries. He isn't one, but he has a feeling that something bad is about to happen...so he plans to make his way to Kagoshima and find out what is going on. If his help is needed, he has already planned to step in and help out whoever needs a hand.
