Character Relationships

Please use this thread to post about relationships between your characters! You can discuss them here or privately PM each other, but if you'd like to use the character sheet provided so that everyone has a sense of where each character is at, please do! I'd like to make sure everyone has at least two or three solid pre-existing opinions/relationships with people, so that everyone has someone they can start out interacting with to some extent at the beginning of the RP.

Petra shares the ruthless, clever nature that draws the three together, making them a difficult force to go up against. If Brooklyn is the Queen, and Daniel the King, then Brooklyn it the captain of the guard, the final piece to control an empire.

Ruthless, powerful, charismatic, cunning: these are all things that Daniel prizes in a person, and all of them are embodied in Brooklyn Winslet. Together, they are a fearsome pair that one should be very careful not to cross, both in and out of Laurel. He considers her his closest friend, one of the few people that he admires even above himself. He considers her a work of art, and a worthy (non-romantic) Queen to stand beside.

Towards the beginning of high school/end of middle school, Em and Sean dated. She had managed to poke through some of his barriers with her relentlessly thick skin and hard to break smile. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, he pushed her away. Em was hurt- who wouldn't be? But she still believes the best in him, and will occasionally try to at least patch up the friendship they had before dating, with little success. If anything, she's probably just annoying him with it, but she can't help but miss him, at least a little bit.

Emerson has always seemed to be unlucky in love, and Petra is where that all began. Before Petra cut away those who were too soft or weak, she was one of Em's best friends. They practically grew up together, with how long they've both been at Laurel. Truth be told, Em had developed feelings for Petra. She was her first crush, the first person who ever made her heart skip a beat. Sure, she was still young at the time, only 11 or 12 years old, but at the time the feelings were painfully real. And then Petra pushed her away without warning. Em was left with a broken heart and no answers, forced to pick herself up and pretend everything was okay, because she'd never admitted the feelings to Petra. Only a few years later, history would repeat itself with Sean.

Keevan and Pepper are not the most likely friend material, and they certainly were not close friends when Keevan first arrived at Laurel. One time, however, Keevan was angry and began ranting to Pepper in their PE class. They spent the whole hour and a half working through his problem. Ever since then, Pepper and Keevan have had a special relationship, reserved mainly for times of anger or unrest.

Mina and Pepper seem to just click. The two girls are close, and spend a lot of time together. They have weekly coffee trips and sleepovers often.

The only interaction that Lance and Pepper have ever had was one sentence exchanged from Lance to Pepper. Lance looked Pepper up and down and asked her why she still looks 'like that' if her dad is a plastic surgeon. It made her cry, which only made him laugh.

Lucy happened to be walking by, and Pepper made eye contact with her. Pepper doesn't know why, but ever since then it seems like Lucy has had it out for her.

Lance doesn't know her, he just knows she's one of the people that Brooklyn doesn't like.

Keevan Brennan { "I love Keevan, I may barely know him, but we're both New York City kids, and we tend to catch a show now and then." || ◑ / ★}

While they can be called friends, there's a lot that the two boys don't know about each other. With Lance being an aspiring Broadway actor, and Keevan liking musicals, they found a common ground quickly. Often during breaks from school, the boys will go catch a musical together to enjoy their love for the theater.

Minami Nomura { "Who?" || ◑}

Lance doesn't know Nomura, so he doesn't plan to get to know her.

Thayer Gallup { "He sounds cute, and he does some pretty cool photography for the school plays." || ◑ }

Lance has never, officially met Thayer. He just knows him as the cute redhead behind the camera, and trust him, Lance is behind a camera alot. He thinks his photography is something he should be extremely proud of, because it's his talent. He also loves the Breadbowl.

Cayden Lawrence { "Daddy Cayden, kidding. But aside from Brook, he's one of the only upperclassmen who took the time to help me my freshman year. We're close, but I think I did something?"|| ★ ★/ ♥}

Cayden was one of the first people Lance befriended during his freshman year, with Cayden being in the same gifted program as him, the two got along well. Lance aimlessly flirts with him, maybe there's some attraction on his end there, but he doesn't know for sure. He just feels he did something wrong, to make the other boy draw away from him.

Lance Aguilar { "The fuck, I'm a boss ass bitch. I'm probably one of the greatest people you'll ever meet." || ♥ ♥ ♥}

Needless to say, Lance is rather fond of himself. But he is not without his insecurities, he just is really good at supressing them. He thinks he can be a little too mean to others, but Brooklyn is the proverbial Regina George in the school, and being Kady Heron under her wing feels so damn good.

Daniel Ahn { "He's a great person, he helps me...though his advice is a bit cut-throat.." || ★}

Daniel and Lance have a brotherly bond, and Lance is only rarely put off by Dan's cutthroat behavior. But he's fond of the man, likes him a bit.

Pepper Collins { "She's one of Brook's friends right?" || ◑}

Lance doesn't know pepper that well, he has made comments on her father being a plastic surgeon. But he regretted them, but one thing Brook taught him is you don't apologize. It's a weakness that people will take advantage of.

Sean O'Callaghan { "Who?" || ◑}

Lance doesn't necessarily know who Sean is other than the agressive angry dude.

Lucy Wood { "She's like my sister, her and I are Brooklyn's little siblings as said by everyone else. We're practically royalty." || ★★}

The Prince and Princess of Laurel Academy, Lance is very fond of Lucy. The two stroll by Brooklyn's side, able to be untouched. They're like the Heathers, or the Plastics. They're the top of the school, and Lance enjoys that. She's also rather easy to talk to when Lance has his worries.

Asher Blanche { "He's a bottom dweller, I can't say I know him." || ◑}

Asher and Lance may have never interacted, unless Asher talked to Brook around him. So he can't say he knows him.

She seems a bit....air-headed, but he doesn't know her rather well.

Not knowing the reason her and Brooklyn are in a disagreement, Lance has a somewhat close bond with the girl. She's often at his performances, and helps him when he's struggling in academic areas. She's an all around sweetheart, but he also keeps an eye on her for Brook. Not that she needs to know.

Brooklyn Winslet { "My older, and cooler sister. Brooklyn is the epitome of what I want to be, she's so fearless. She owns everything she does, and has no regrets. I'm glad she took me under her wing." || ★ ★ ★}

Heather Chandler. Regina George. Brooklyn Winslet. Brooklyn reminds him of every single head bitch, queen bee, you name it. She's the proverbial goddess, that Lance adores. There is little the two girls wouldn't do for each other and they've been through plenty together and have only come out stronger. Separated, the two girls are scary; together, they are absolutely frightening.

You would never have guessed these two used to be best friends. After Genevive told the principal at Laurel about Brooklyn's drug addiction, any friendship between them was lost. Now that Brooke's back as yearly, she's going to make the girl pay for what she did.

It's taken awhile for Brooklyn to learn that. She used to think to love herself first meant being loved by other people. She learned quickly that didn't work. Brooklyn had to love herself, because no one could love her the way she needed.

Normally, Brooklyn would never be interested in a guy like Drake, but his mystery power piqued her interest. Why would a power kid hide what their ability is? Brooklyn doesn't trust him and has made multiple attempts to get him to show his power. Nothing has worked yet, but she has a plan up her sleeve for the nice guy wannabe.

Katiana Brokenborough { "Why can't she just disappear?" || ☠,ღ,♡}

Brooklyn despised her. Ever since Kat arrived, she's done nothing but fight against Brooklyn. It didn't help that a part of Brooklyn liked it. A secret hookup the previous year only increased Brooklyn's interest, but made her more aggressive in denying it. It doesn't help that Katiana insists on bringing it up when the two are alone. Brooklyn always gets what she wants, but what does one do when she wants something she shouldn't have.

Mason Hart { "I want him and I get what I want." || ◑,ღ,♡}

When Brooklyn wants something or someone, she intends to get it, currently that someone is Mason. He's her ideal man and the fact that he keeps brushing her off is equally irritating and attractive. Plus, Brooklyn has noticed his abilities allow him to pick up on her scent, specifically when she is on drugs. Brooklyn is aware of this and tries even harder to get him to like her, to keep her secret safe and possibly earn his affection along the way.

Emerson was very much someone that would be healthy for Petra to be close to. She's kind and considerate, and would have been a perfect shoulder to lean on during Petra's bouts of self-loathing and doubt. But that would require Petra to know how to look after herself beyond her image, and that is simply not the Kingsley way. Close in their youth, the emergence of Petra's powers incited something of a reflex in the young Powerful. She cut contact with those that were too soft, and too good. And that included Emerson.

Petra is one of the few people who actually likes Daniel, and vice versa, but more so, she enjoys spending time with him, and fears parting ways with him and Brooke far more than she'd ever care to admit.

Pepper Collins { "Our fathers were colleagues... that's where our relationship ends." || ◑ ☠}

Pepper and Petra have little in common save for their fathers' professions as celebrity plastic surgeons. The two men worked together and were even friends, and encouraged their daughters to get along. However, the two found they were more prone to butting heads that getting along like their fathers had hoped, and the last time they shared a sincere conversation was at Petra's father's funeral.

Sean O'Callaghan { "We have a lot in common, but one of those things is Em, which... hm." || ◑ ☠}

Sean and Petra would likely never interact, if not for the fact that they have to attend extra "classes in control" together. The classes are intended to be something taken by powerful students who struggle with controlling their abilities for various reasons to the point that their abilities are a "risk to their fellow classmates". As a result, the two have fallen into a bitter, bickering rapport. They are a tad too similar to completely loathe each other, but they are also both hypocrites, loathing the other for their abandonment of Emerson- failing to see the irony in their disdain.

Petra and Asher are both perpetually bitchy beings, and thus, it's only natural that they would attract one another. Brooklyn is wary of Drake, but Petra is mostly intrigued. His secretiveness regarding his abilities has her interested in learning the truth, but she isn't fascinated enough about the rest of him to make any real effort.

Mason, in his perpetual honesty, has made it very clear that he has no patience for Brooke and her gang, and that includes Petra. Petra hardly grieves over the loss, finding the man to be not worth her time. She's tries to keep things civil out of consideration of Brooke's crush, but for whatever reason, her patience is shorter with Mason than it is with most others, and she's prone to moments of pettiness around the fellow powerful.

Kat and Brooke have an ongoing feud, and that has very much influenced Kat and Petra's relationship. They seldom interact, although they are quick to eye one another when in the same room, and acknowledge each other as persons of interest. However, Brooke loathes Kat, and thus Petra is wont to share her disdain.

From the moment they met, Soledad and Brooklyn never saw eye to eye. They're just far too different to ever be civil with one another and just like the rest of her little clique Sol refuses to kiss their asses just to get their approval. Which she knows Brooklyn doesn't appreciate, she wants someone to bend for her and accept her as the 'queen bee' she thinks she is like a lot of the rest of the school has believed. But, Soledad has let it be known to her that she knows what kind of girl Brooklyn is. She's a scared, spiteful, party obsessed little girl who is just looking for something to fill that void in her life probably left because her parents were never around. What she doesn't seem to get is picking on or teasing Sol over her dancing during their classes together or making fun whatever she thinks is going on between Mason and Soledad isn't going to make her any better or happier nor is it going to make Mason fall for her. Two facts she let be known to the girl several times and will continue to let her know when the rich girl tries to come for her.

She knows everything about Soledad's life and she knows everything about Kat's from their mothers to the way they were raised. Which for both of them is a huge difference from how they treat the rest of the world. But, with being her sister. Kat loves to use her not only as her personal natural Barbie doll but, also finding the need to continuously play matchmaker with her.

Mason is another one of her close friends here but, it wasn't always like that see that when they first met he almost threw her into a wall during one of his rages. Needless to say, it left her and her ego a little bruised for the time being. But, he apologized and looked at her with his stupid puppy dog eyes and she couldn't stay mad at her. To this day, those big eyes of his are one of her weakness even her pet peeves of his. He just infuriating sometimes! He's overprotective, impulsive, unnecessarily blunt, and flirtatious. Something she has yet to realize is an indicator that he is actually into her despite her constantly telling Kat that he's just flirty. Part of her has always thought about the two of them being together in that way but, the girl's stubborn and refuses to let her walls down enough to think about it for too long especially with people like Brooklyn throwing themselves at him.
