Essentially. The first step is "The Meeting", where all the characters end up meeting their masters, and joining the story. The characters won't all meet each other for a while, I have to figure out just exactly how I want to introduce the first real plot point.

Of course. Superman could kill Mercer with a single punch before he could blink an eye, or burn him to ash from orbit with his laser vision. He would never do that though, he's too good hearted. But unless Mercer had some Kryptonite he couldn't even wound Supes.
