Most Advanced Science Fiction Race

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Kosh Naranek on Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:41 pm

Well, the title says it all. who do you pick?

I myself believe that the Xeelee, Culture, Dra'hazon(Sp?), the First One Races from Babylon 5, the Monolith Builders, and the Pak should be on the list.

How about the Borg from Star Trek
There is a sacredness in tears....They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition and of unspeakable love.

Hmm.. I don't think the Borg count, they steal all their tech, and are easily beaten.

The Dread Lords and Arnor from Galactic Civilizations, Organic Starships? 'Nuff said.

The Hydrouges from the Saga of Seven Suns, they can shoot down your Dreadnought with their Space-Faring Balls of Ice.

The Xeelee. If you use galaxies as ammunition, you're really up there.

But when it comes to raw power, the Ancients and the Monolith builders are on par.

Many of the First Ones had Organic Ships, mainly the Vorlons and Shadows.

Uhh, balls of ice? The Monolith Builders can terraform solar systems to their needs.

I think the Technocore and Outsiders, along with the Puppeteers are worth mentioning.

The Ancients got defeated by the little metal bugs, and the Ori by a nifty little gadget. they lost their eligibility..

Cylons could be beaten in combat, and they aren't that advanced.

Agreed. Necrons are bad enough on their own, but they have to drag those guys into the fray.

I did kill one once though, through the advice of Iosef Stalin, playing as the IG, my favorite race,

Urgh, this ebate, which i won't give answer to has too many dimensions!

We need to consider the fact that in their own universe, many races would arguably be the most powerful, we need to consider in some universes, certain beings cannot die to anything but X, Y or Z, and that dosn't exist in the other universes and so on and so on, what technology means and so forth.

Basically, some races can blow up the universe, so can others, in the end, they all have big guns and end up stalemating. =p

The most advanced science fiction race is the Tuffles from DBZ they are a planet that created a being that took of the universe in a short amount of time and they barely had anytime to build it. They had lots of high tech weaponry and super weapons which didn't even need to charge.
Have you ever dreamed of being extraordinary, being able to wield a super-human ability? Tissue Regeneration, Teleportation, Electricity Manipulation? What If I told you could, the way to obtain these abilities is simple. Click the Links.

Nice to see The Pupeteers mentioned. I would have to agree there.

I'd like to see a 'Coolest Science Fiction Race' thread too, though I can think of no particular category for defining coolness.

I can think of one more race, from the Star Wars universe this time: Yuzhong Vong, the fuckers create black holes. Can't really argue with that.

As for the Stargate Ancients beign defeated by little metal bugs. Then perhaps those who defeated the supposedly most advanced race, are therefore themselves the most advanced? Just a suggestion. I would also intercede that every race, no matter how far up the tech scale, can and most likely will be brought to its knees somehow, and sometimes not by a similarly advanced enemy

Example: The Forerunners (Haloverse) were eventually defeated by the Flood, a parasyte that crashed into the Forerunners galaxy on meteors and then effectively engulfed everything. They proved capable of operating technology through the forming of a Flood-Brain, but were hardly an advanced race, not even having developed basic weaponry or vehicular transportation. Still they managed to bring down a massively advanced race at its peak. At the end of the day, being so advanced often means you have come to be used to having no threat, so when one finally comes along you are unprepared.
When the end seem to justify the means, you've tried too hard to find an excuse. When 'by any means necessary' means 'violence may become necessary' you've lost sight of your goal. When people lay down and die rather than endure any more suffering, worry for the state of humanity. When people do not comment on how wrong this is, become angry at the world, because feeling that upset is too hard to bare. When people say 'you care too much' don't answer, because there is no such thing.

Ah good example, thanks. Defeated by our germs I believe? Good ol' bacteria.

But yes, my entry for most advanced Sci Fi race is: The Yuzhong Vong

I find the Puppeteers with their world-moving and all to be quite an interesting bunch. Also, Cylons and the Culture, for creating artificial consciousness.

The Kzinti are probably not a very advanced science fiction race when compared to many of the ones already mentioned here, but I like them anyway, because they are big and hairy and have an attitude (and don't have three legs, like every other random new and possibly/probably hostile race seems to (the Puppeteers, the Idirans, the Ar'ashw'arhanghirs (an Estonian author's invention (omg, parentheses)))). Just my kind of alien.
