Being communal and being communist are different things entirely, bud.

Being communal is a big part of being communist, and far to socialistic for my tastes, bud.

Right, on a brighter note (so basically not concerning commies and the like, 'cos I don't give a damn), thanks for the info on the horse-people Jade, I figured they would be fairly, ya know ... "primitive". And that's, so far, all the info I need, no whining involved ... Promise. So, got any idea for a character skeleton ?

Jade, any idea on a meta-story arc for the game yet? If we're doing an adventure thingy and everyone is in the same book but not the same page regarding dealing with races and interactions I think it'll add a lot to the RP. Comedic moments, inter-personal issues character can overcome, etc. You know I will join, but can you leak a little more out to us, large US city or a smaller one? Coastal or near a river/lake so fishboy can be a productive member I am assuming?
The writer who cares more about words than about characters, action, setting, atmosphere is unlikely to create a vivid and continuous dream; he gets in his own way too much; in his poetic drunkenness, he can't tell the cart- and its cargo- from the horse.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Jadeling Hawkins on Sat Jun 28, 2008 8:39 pm

Sorry Skally, I thought I had posted it. Guess I forgot in the midst of the other stuff *shrug*

The story idea:

A ancient artifact, called the 'Everstone,' has been rediscovered (or so the tabloids say). The Everstone once belonged to the most powerful sorcerer in written history, and is known as the only sure-fire way to keep or restore one's youth. Such a thing would obviously be of tremendous intrinsic, historical, and cultural value. Group upon group has set out to discover the location of the stone and retrieve it, but thus far no one has been successful. Whether or not it actually exists is debatable, but who's going to wait for someone else to find it for proof?

The goal of the game will be to discover the stone's location and find it. This will likely require quite a bit of travel and a touch of sleuth work, and with a phenomenal amount of money on the line, you can bet there will be some dangerous competition.

As such, I would prefer that your characters have some reason to go after the stone. Perhaps their store is failing and they need the cash? Perhaps they're just interested in the adventure?

If only to help keep the story moving forward, my character will be spear heading the effort (at least the main one we will follow in-game) to recover the stone. So try to think about whether or not she would invite your character along.

Name: Alexandra 'Alex' Lenore
Species: Vampire
Age: 113
Physical description: Typical pale skin for her species, as she very much prefers the night life. Piercingly light blue eyes and light blond hair that falls halfway down her back and is usually pulled back into a bun or two. For the most part, she prefers casual, but flowing, clothes that allow her to slip unnoticed in a 'common' crowd, though she has no real arguments with fancy getups at parties and whatnot. She is of an average height and pleasing build, and physically looks as though she could be a human woman in her mid to late twenties.
Notable Abilities: Along with the regular abilities granted to average vampires, Alex has learned to transform herself into (what else?) a fox. She also has a natural charm that often grants her certain favors from off-color individuals. Along with this, years of study have garnered her a knack for puzzle and riddle solving...and she simply loves banter.
Brief History: Born into an aristocratic family of British and Scottish vampires, Alexandra spent the first portion of her life doing just that: being a member of an aristocratic family. Eventually, she grew tired of the slow paced, tradition-filled life and moved out for a bit of excitement. She became fond of knick knacks and travel, and to support herself and her rather expensive 'vacations,' began secretly selling off family heirlooms from the massive vault in the Lenore manor in Britain (exact location unknown). After several years of this, she realized that despite her living on her own, she was still dependent on the Lenore fortunes and this was unacceptable. Putting a bit more effort into her escapades, she began discovering and collection ancient artifacts which sold for even more than the old heirlooms did, and after a decade or so of this work was able to return all of the Lenore belongings...without it ever being known that they had gone. But she had gotten a taste for the find, retrieve and sell business, and this became her passion. She eventually garnered a renowned name as an explorer and museum filler, and by now most of the educated world knows of the vampire with a wanderlust. She has contacts across the globe, is rumored to have bank accounts fat enough to rival a medium sized country, and currently resides in a private abode (assumed to be a mansion) somewhere in the United States. Also, she is a well known serial dater with a penchant for life threatening (and sometimes altering) stunts.
Profession: Explorer, collector, museum stuffer.

Can I play the ultimate monster, the single most powerful being of all time, the one who created the universe, and all else, the great, the magnifect, The Flying Spaghetti Monster? Or if not that can I be a race like the Hulk?

Oh come on, how about brownies? They get angry and become boggarts. In this brownies could be full sized regular people who have a genetic defect, causing them to shift into gigantic hulking beasts when their brains release the correct endorphins, i.e., when they get super pissed.

...No they don't...not that I've ever seen in traditional stories...boggarts and brownies are two similar but separate entities. If a brownie gets mad because its family doesn't give it its 'gifts' of food or whatnot then it just leaves.

So no, that wouldn't work. And even then, boggarts and brownies are very small creatures. And I just don't get your logic about the genetic defect, it sounds too much like X-Men. Sorry.
