Her next comment would seem random to most people, and it was random, but it wasn't a comment that was made with no connection. Holly's mind had jumped to a thousand places in between leaving Weston and this moment, but a commercial on the television before Cara switched it off featured a boy wearing jeans, and somehow that very common feature was enough to link the actor to Weston, whose jeans were still on Holly's mind. That brought her to the other part of their conversation, about his deceased grandmother, which she then connected to Cara, because the question that was on the tip of her tongue was, "If you have a family, why are you and Collin not with them on a holiday?". In a surprising move, she managed to think before opening her mouth with that one, because she knew that Cara wasn't with part of her family for a reason. Her mom was dead. It was something that had come up soon after Holly had met Cara, and given that nothing was off limits for Holly, questioning Cara on her parents wasn't too absurd. Cara had informed her that her father was alive and lived in another area of Manhattan, but her mother passed away when she was a little girl. It was unclear, even to Holly, if she was saying it to merely inform Cara, or as if it would be of some sort of comfort, but before taking another bite out of her roll she said, "Cara, Weston's grandma is dead like your mom."

Olivielle watched Theo leave with some concern but was brought back to the conversation with Deja's words. She hadn't realized she was hungry until the food was in her hands. She scooped some potatoes out and passed them to her left. She took a little of everything, since she was not a picky eater.
"Hey babe, You're Irish right? Haven't you got some wild traditions we could try out?" Deja said. Olivielle suddenly got excited as Deja's words triggered a thought.
"Irish traditions consist of gambling, drinking, getting in trouble with the police, and making terrible life choices. And also fornicating in public, I'm not sure you'd enjoy it."
Olivielle giggled at their exchange and grinned at the two of them.
"oh! That reminds me! I have a wonderful idea! Lets play Most Likely!" Olivielle said excitedly as she clapped her hands.
"Its a drinking game I read about once. Okay so one player asks a “most likely” question, for example: 'Who would be most likely to accost Channing Tatum in public?' or 'Who would be most likely to eat someone else’s sandwich from the refrigerator at work?' Then on the count of three, everyone points to whoever they think would be most likely to do whatever act was mentioned. Said person has to take a drink for every person who’s pointing at them. It sounds like so much fun, pretty please?!" Olivielle explained with a grin. She had plaid the game only once before but it was a quick and easy way to get wasted.

"Please," she said languidly while leaning back in her chair. "Do you even know me?" she blurted out with a soft chuckle. Feigning seriousness, with a touch of real seriousness, Deja went on to say "Thomas, I would take you up on any of those offers." Then she went the next step. "Especially that last one. Fornicating in public is a very special skill of mine." She gave him another playful smile before winking at him. Deja was never quite sure how serious she was with the idea of fucking Thomas. He was damn beautiful, that was for sure, but she also wanted to keep him around. Part of her wanted to jump his bones just to see what it would be like, but most of her knew that their friendship was probably better off unscathed.
Olivielle piped in right as Deja took in another mouthful of food. Deja made a noise of approval as she swallowed down the rest of her food. "I say yes," she chimed. Deja suddenly stood up, and made her way to the vodka and tequila. "Here," she said as she grabbed three shot glass. "We can do shots with just the three of us," she explained. Deja excited placed the bottles of liquor down and placed each glass in front of their respective owners. The blonde sat back down and mused for a moment, trying to pick a good question.
"Oh, I have one!" She poured each glass with a shot of vodka first. "Who's most likely to marry a celebrity?"
Thomas fought the urge to blush at this incredibly forward woman's response. He loved her daring and lightheartedness. There was no deception in her and you could just enjoy the moment with her without having to worry about what you had to say. So, with less premeditation than he normally put in his responses, he said.
"Not until the third date, Deja. I am supposed to be a gentleman after all," he teased back. He smirked and impulsively brushed a strand of wild blonde hair that was getting in the way of her face. He would want to take her on a night on the town, he realized, if only to spend more time with her. At Olivielle's words, he glanced away from her guiltily. He had been ignoring his roommate and that wasn't okay so he grinned at her.
"I would love to," he told her before smiling at Deja, "My favorite drink. How did you know?"
At he question he paused to think. Olivielle, though she was attractive and kind was the least likely of them to meet a celebrity so that was out. Deja meanwhile definitely had what it took to be a model, but it was an ultra competitive business. He glanced over at Deja and smugly took a shot.
"I have not peaked yet so it could happen," he said mischievously, "Though, I would say that you tie with me."

She waved at Weston as he came in, before putting her fork down on her empty plate and sighing contentedly. She'd eaten plenty of fancy dinners in her time, but it was hard to beat good home-cooked food. And Tony's cooking was always good. She was only partially joking about moving in. She laughed at Wes' comment about Tony, before shrugging.
"Someone clearly doesn't appreciate their sister's wonderful hugs," she remarked lightly as she got to her feet to make herself another cocktail, before laughing at Ricky and Wes. At home, comments about balls dropping would have never been made around the parents, but this seemed to be a different kind of dynamic. One she liked.
"I feel like my grandma is turning her grave at the thought of this conversation at Thanksgiving dinner," she remarked lightly, before laughing. "Then again, she also was the type of person who would refuse to serve dinner unless she thought we were all dressed appropriately, so that doesn't say much."

"Oh, I have one! Who's most likely to marry a celebrity?" Deja asked.
"I have not peaked yet so it could happen, though, I would say that you tie with me." Thomas said after he took a shot. Olivielle laughed quietly and she contemplated the question. She knew Thomas could do anything he put his mind to, and he definitely had the looks, but she felt it was best to keep her distance from him due to them loving together and what not...and it appeared there was a developing relationship between her roommate and Deja.
Speaking of the wonderful woman, Deja was definitely model material, there simply was no other way to describe her neighbor and drinking buddy. Not only was she funny and smart, she was beautiful to boot.
"I have to say Deja for sure" Olivielle said with a smile. She watched them closely, picking up on a vibe she had seen before but had yet to experience. The electrifying tension in the air between two people who had chemistry. Now that it was just the the three of them she felt almost uncomfortable, as though she was interrupting their date. She almost wished she had an excuse to leave...
...but that wasn't really fair of her to think. It wasn't their fault they had chemistry....I mean for goodness sake just look at both of them.
"I have one! Uhm....who is the mostly likely to commit a crime this evening?" Olivielle asked with a mischievous laugh.

"Do you think they're buried in the same cemetery?"
"I don't think so," Cara said, smiling, though she shook her head as well. It felt strange to be talking about this with Holly, even if it wasn't the first time that it had come up. Her conversations with the teenager were usually filled with more positive things, and conversations like that were obviously preferable. Then again, it was expected, to some degree, that more awkward subjects would sometimes come up because of how curious and unfiltered Holly was. If she was thinking something or had a question, you were going to hear it and be expected to come up with an answer, right then on the spot. Luckily for Cara, talking about her mother wasn't something that upset her at all, really. She had been a child when her mother had passed away, and though she had been old enough to understand that her mother was dead, she hadn't spent that much time with her, where her absence put Cara into a depression that she would never grow out of. Lacking a maternal figure definitely shaped who Cara became, as a young adult, but not in ways that she really was able to recognize.
"Why not? They could be neighbors!"
Cara could have just let it go then, and tell Holly that she was right, and that it was possible that her mother was buried in the same cemetery as Weston's grandmother. Maybe it was because she was already a few glasses of wine in that she didn't think to just nod and agree, instead of being honest. Especially with Holly, it seemed like there was a fine line between lying, and protecting her innocence. In this case, Cara probably could have gotten away with a white lie, but at the same time, she didn't think explaining her mother's death was going to scar Holly in any way. If anything, maybe it would serve as a small history lesson. "Do you remember what I said about how my mom died?"
"Yes, you said that she died on 9/11 when a plane crashed into the building she was working in."
"Right, good memory," Cara said, offering her a smile out of praise as she paused to chew on a bite of turkey before continuing. "So when the building fell apart, there was a lot of debris, and a lot of fire, and it was just a pretty messy scene, and they never found my mom's body in all of the rubble, so she wasn't buried in a cemetery."
"Where did she go, then?"
Cara thought she had explained that well enough, but at the same time, she understood Holly's question because a lot of things with Holly were black and white. If the rescue crews didn't recover a body, it must have only made sense to Holly that her mother must have somehow left the scene. She couldn't have just disappeared. She didn't want to say straight out that her mother's body was probably smashed and squashed and charred into a million unidentifiable pieces, in all its gory detail, because even though Cara was fairly emotionally unattached from the loss of her mother, thinking about that in depth was even too much for her. Now that she was actually trying to explain it aloud to someone, she realized just how dreadful the circumstances of her mother's death really was. Like many of the other victims of the attack, there was nothing left of her after it. She went from being a living and breathing person one minute, and in what Cara hoped was no longer than a minute of agony, turned into tiny fragments of dust and bones and debris that would never be identified. "Honestly, I'm not really sure, Holly," Cara eventually said. Thinking about this made her feel grim, for the first time in a very long time, and now she truly wasn't even sure how to answer that question. "You know how if something gets set on fire, like a tree or a house, and it just turns into a pile of ashes after a while? I guess that's what happened." How somber was that? Noticing her own change in attitude, she took a nice sized sip of her wine and put on a smile, even if it was a weak one. "Maybe she's neighbors with Weston's grandmother in heaven, though. I bet my mom has a nice house up there." Cara finally started the show then (and purposely turned the volume up high so that Holly would notice too), but she couldn't help to wonder when Makayla would be back, now.

"Sounds like I missed out on a good time," he joked, though he was sure that there was at least some truth to that. The following interaction between Tony and Weston made him laugh, though luckily now, he had washed down his food with the rest of his beer. "Hey, man," he greeted Wes as he stood up to retrieve a new beer. He watched the siblings go back and forth, with added comments from their extended family, and it reminded him of home. Even though he wasn't dreadfully missing his own siblings, it was nice, and somehow comforting, to see something that felt familiar to him. "I wouldn't pin you as the type to come from a strict family," Dane admitted to Sam, when he sat down and began to feast on the food that was still left on his plate. "But then again, I guess all grandmas are like that. Mine was pretty by the books, too."
He knew that the plan for after Tony's was Deja's, and he was happy with that, because he hadn't seen Deja in a few days and loved her and all, but... something had him reaching for his phone to text Jesse again, and also send one to Brooklyn. Why he wanted to go to Cara's, he didn't know. Or he did know, but he didn't want to admit that it was because of that stupid crush he had on the blonde. Instead, he wanted to think that he was just curious about how his friends were doing. Yeah... that was all.

Jude shook head briefly. Was it that obvious that he didn't want to be there? It didn't really matter. He was paying his dues in order to maintain his living situation. He knew that there were other people who would gladly take him in, but he felt guilty about how this whole situation was panning out. He truly had the best of intentions with this dinner, but being in the same room as Cara and Jesse for so long might wear on his stability.
"Nah, don't worry about it," he said. "Hanging out with you is enough reason to pull through," he added quietly, hoping that no one would pick up on what he was saying. For a moment Jude felt the urge to tell Collin was Brooklyn was up to. A flush of courage ran through his body, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything while Brooklyn was out of earshot. Was it fair to be so loyal to one friend that you potentially let another friend make a big mistake? Jude couldn't make his mind up. Jude took a bite of turkey as Collin began to speak again.
With surprise and a bit of laughter Jude choked on his food for a split second. Quickly he swallowed what what inside of his mouth before ending up spewing food onto the table. Through a couple of involuntary coughs Jude began to chuckle. It was true that at one point Jude had harbored real feelings for Brooklyn. Perhaps it was because she was one of the only creatures in New York City that treated him like a human, or because he was naturally attracted to her. Regardless, after all of this drama in the apartment Jude's ever glowing attitude for Brooklyn was fading. She was beautiful, clearly, and Jude would readily admit that to her face. However, she was always up to something and as much as Jude would like to admit that he admires her ambition, the way that she moves forward in life to aggressively was tiresome for Jude.
"Oh, no." Jude stated before mumbling off. "No, no, no, no..." He took another bite, taking a moment to think before explaining himself to Collin. "Look, man," he started with a low voice. "Brooklyn is real, and she's hot, and she's fun, and she's got everything going for her... But..." Jude wasn't sure how to put this politely. "She's trouble." Jude said in a hushed whisper. He loved Brooklyn dearly, and normally Jude wouldn't be so negative about her, but he was hoping that Collin might think about these words later when she was really laying it down.
"I just want what's best for her," he said in a normal tone, referring to Jesse with a slight movement of the eyes. He looked back at Collin before finishing his thought. "And acting like I want something more with her is enough to deter some people for the time being."

When Thomas smoothly brushed her a common stray hair, Deja's stomach twirled. Unsure if this reaction was from the crush that she had developed or from the impending doom type feelings she was having about him wanting more, Deja gave out a low chuckle. She was desperately trying not to blush or do anything that might give Thomas reason to continue their teasing flirtation. It was strange for Deja to feel so two sided about a man, normally she would sleep with someone and get it over with... But now she wasn't sure she wanted to ruin her friendship with Thomas that way.
Deja would have put up a fight about being the drinker to her own question, but she was honestly more interested in being intoxicated than being a pest. Quickly she flopped back the shot of vodka then grinned at her cohorts. Olivielle's question was next. Deja laughed for a moment as she poured another round of vodka. She actually had no idea that vodka was Thomas' favorite, but now that she knew she figured they could switch to tequila later.
The tall blonde took a moment to think about this. Their odd were pretty equal, but she ended up pointing at the dear Olivielle. There's just something about you tonight," she said playfully before looking over to Thomas. Remembering that Dane was supposed to join them she sent him a little text while eating another bite of food.
Hey babe! Just want to make sure you aren't dead. We just started eating and playing a drinking game, but take all the time you need. :]
Deja seemed to be shifting under his gaze and Thomas looked at her in concern. Conflict was one emotion he did not often see in her expression, but she seemed almost flustered. He smiled slightly. Her face was turning a a delightful shade of red and though he felt his stomach doing backflips, he was happy he was the one to cause it. Soon enough the moment ended and Thomas flushed slightly himself as he stared at his own drink.
At Olivielle's question, he smiled slightly and glanced at Deja. Out of everyone in their little group, she was the one most likely to run afoul of the wall. Nonetheless, he laughed when she announced that there was something special about her tonight. He gasped in mock shock.
"I never knew you were so dangerous, Olivielle. I may never look at you the same way again," he grinned. He looked over at Deja again and ccould not help, but consider their interactions tonight. He liked her and he was sure she liked him too, but he knew she was a party girl and he... He was much more serious. He could play around, but he was much more romantic. If they became involved, he'd want something more from her. Maybe he already did.
"Who's more likely to go out of their comfort zone tonight?" he mused before morphing his expression into a more playful expression. It was too early to get that serious.

"There's just something about you tonight" Deja said
"I never knew you were so dangerous, Olivielle. I may never look at you the same way again" Thomas said. Olivielle blushed and grinned at him.
“Rawr...apparently I am a bad ass hellcat.” Olivielle laughed as she made a gentle clawing motion with her hand and drank her shot. She was feeling warm and fuzzy already. It made her smile. She was such a damn lightweight, cheap date though.
"Its always the quiet ones." She said with a smile.
"Who's more likely to go out of their comfort zone tonight?" Thomas asked.
“Oh…well…I’m going out with Jude tonight, to see his photography work I mean…” Olivielle hesitated and re thought over her words. A blush spread up her cheeks as she fumbled to correct herself. She was unable disguise her embarrassment.
“….not like...going out…going out…I mean, I don’t think he knows I exist in that manor…or…well….huh….” She trailed off, sure she was making herself look silly but she was strangely okay with it. She was comfortable with these two, they were her friends and she was buzzed so damn it she was going to have fun.
“Anywho…I suppose that is sort of out of my element? But….” Olivielle paused and grinned devilishly at Deja and leaned in towards her friend. She knew she was being overly flirty with the other woman but she found herself attracted to her more often than not, and at the moment she had very little inhibitions. She wished for a moment that she had gotten Jude's number instead of just giving hers to him. She shook off the thought and smiled.
"It sounds like a challenge...and I have to say..." Olivielle giggled as she looked at Thomas with a 'challenge accepted' grin.
“I’d be willing to ditch for you baby… want to explore some limits tonight?” She asked Deja jokingly as she bit her lip with mock seduction and winked at her friend.
"He'd be crazy not to be crazy for you, Liv," Thomas told her and he meant. Olivielle was an attractive, warm woman. If a man didn't return her interest, he either was already in love with someone else or a fool.
“I’d be willing to ditch for you baby… want to explore some limits tonight?”
Okay, his very attractive roommate was drunk and flirting with his very attractive crush. Perhaps he should feel irked, but at the moment, with alcohol flowing through his veins, Thomas could not get how hot this whole situation was out of his head. He finished his drink and mock-pouted.
"Well, I feel left out. You can't explore your limits without me, Liv," he teased with a smirk. He refilled his glass. He was lucky to have these two as friends. He was straight-laced by nature, but they seemed to be able to drag him out his shell with little effort and cause him to forget he ever had inhibitions in the first place.
"It's not very fair-minded," he laughed, enjoying the little game they were playing.

Deja made a mental note to keep herself, at least, decent. She absolutely could not get to seven shots. Not on such a lovely holiday, and not with such an attractive man. The problem here way the unknown variable, Thomas. Normally, she would get as shit faced as possible. With Liv by her side there was nothing to worry about. These two girls had been seven shots then further and back, multiple times. But Thomas was something new these days, and Deja was trying to play things cool and clean.
Hearing that Jude had finally asked Liv to do something one-on-one with him was like hearing that Friends was back. "Oh. My. Looooooooord." Deja whispered through her toothy grin. "That is too fucking adorable!" Deja clapped her hands together a couple of times before letting out a delighted squeal. Jude was an interesting fellow, and Deja didn't have the closest relationship with him. This was mostly because their primary subject of conversation just so happened to be Olivielle. It didn't bother Deja that she and Jude didn't have a lot to talk about though, he was genuine enough to be comfortable with his silences. Deja was more than stoked about this potential hook-up or relationship or whatever.
"Can you imagine?" she exclaimed, mostly to get herself musing. "You and Jude would be.. So fucking great! What with his quirky skinny ass and your beautiful sweet face." Deja let out another strange noise of excitement before chomping down some more food.
Deja snorted at Olivelle's playful question as she swallowed her food. "Babe," she started in a sexy voice, leaning into Liv's bubble, "you know I would. You God-damn well know it. But I'm currently team Jude so..." Deja trailed off as she leaned back in her chair and Thomas piped in.
Deja cocked her head as she said, "and I'm team Thomas... But that one's for me." With that she sent Thomas a wink.
"Now drink up, you!" she commanded while pointing a finger at Olivielle. It was clear, with the way that Deja was running her mouth, that she was on the dangerous path to becoming the drunk hostess.

"He'd be crazy not to be crazy for you, Liv," Thomas said. She did her best not to roll her eyes. Her room mate was too kind.
"Well, I feel left out. You can't explore your limits without me, Liv, It's not very fair-minded," Thomas said as he gave her a smirk that made her stomach flutter.
‘What a flirt’She thought to herself as she laughed and shook her head.
“I suppose sharing is caring” Olivielle teased back with a wink.
"If you didn't know that Liv is dangerous, then you might be living with a stranger." Deja said. Liv grinned and shrugged. Truth was, though they lived together, Thomas and Olivielle knew very little about each other. It was a stroke of luck that they had happened to be needing roommates at the same time.
"Oh. My. Looooooooord. That is too fucking adorable! Can you imagine? You and Jude would be.. So fucking great! What with his quirky skinny ass and your beautiful sweet face." Olivielle laughed and shook her head, not for a moment thinking she had a shot with Jude.
When Deja leaned into her space Liv felt her breath catch in her throat and a warm blush creep up her cheeks. Ugh, how was this woman so damn attractive? Why had they not slept together yet?
"Babe, you know I would. You God-damn well know it. But I'm currently team Jude so..."
'Oh G O O D N E S S'
"and I'm team Thomas... But that one's for me. Now drink up, you!" Deja said with a wink to Thomas. Olivielle gave a fake pout and then a laugh.
“Deja, you are dangerously close to being my target of seduction tonight….Just to spite Thomas…” She laughed and grinned at Thomas before she took her shot. She felt a rush and realized she was pushing her own limits.
“…But I like him, so I wont steal his prey….yet. You let me know when he lets you down though baby, cuz I will be over in a heart beat with Tequila and my fine self” Olivielle laughed before she took another bite of the savory and delicious food she had on her plate as she watched her companions.
“I suppose sharing is caring”
"It creates happy feelings all around," he replied with a wink back. Damn, he was getting hammered if he was responding back to these teases and flirts so readily. He smiled slightly at Deja's teasing of Olivielle. Truthfully, he did not know too much about Liv. They started living together out of convenience and he had found the experience pleasant.
"And I'm team Thomas... But that one's for me. Now drink up, you!"
Now that was interesting. His heart sped up in his chest and he eyed her thoughtfully before he raised an eyebrow at Liv's comments about stealing Deja from him. He shook his head.
"I'm glad to know you care, Liv," he said dryly before smirking over at Deja and reaching to again brush a strand out of her face, "You are a mess when you're drink Deja, what are we to do with you... Still, I like it."
Returning his attention to his food, he took a few bites. Still, there was another type of sustenance that he was drawn to now he realized with a flush. He raised his glass with a mischievous expression on his face.
"Who is most likely to throw themselves at me tonight?" he teased before finishing yet another shot just to feed his addiction to alcohol.

She hovered by the counter for a minute longer than necessary, to answer a text she received from Dane. He was one of her few friends in the building, and even if she wasn't as close with him she was with other guys, like Jude, she still liked Dane. He was cute, and a good guy, and he had a vibe that she was attracted to. She liked how he was hands on, the kind of guy who seemed like he could chop down a tree and use the wood to build you a new table, or something, all while maintaining a bit of old-fashioned manners and appeal, in how polite and thoughtful he could be. As she would tell Tony, she was certain that Dane had to be hiding some wild side that he only brought out in bed (and if that was true, she would be even more attracted to him), but for now, Brooklyn was content with Dane's character and their friendship. That was the only reason for why he got a response, because for the most part, Brooklyn tended to be a bad texter, in the sense that she ghosted people quite often, sometimes purposely, but more times only because she genuinely forgot to answer.

My place. Cara pretended to cook dinner. Free booze and food though, so I can't complain that much.
She returned to the table after sending the text, sporting a wide smile that probably seemed too wide to be innocent, but was mostly genuine, especially when she saw that Cara was gone from the table. "I put a lot on, so I hope you're hungry," she said, sliding the plate in front of Collin as she placed his glass down, too. "And I've never met a guy who doesn't like rum and Coke, so that's what that is," she added, ensuring that her tone suggested that it would be odd, maybe even embarrassing, for Collin, if he didn't like and consume the drink. "So, now that we're all settled, what are we talking about, boys?" She took a sip of her own drink now, but didn't take a bite of food before saying, "I hope neither of you plan on running off tonight. I need at least one of you to keep me company." Though normally, her obvious choice of company would be Jude, right now, her eyes remained focused, lashes fluttering, in Collin's direction, as if Jude didn't even exist.

Jude let out a soft artificial laugh. Collin was trying to be funny about the poison, but the seriousness weighed on poor Jude. He was so wrapped in this whole thing that he felt like his head was going to pop off. What was even more stressful was that having to deal with this took away the time he wanted to spend planning his evening with Olivielle. Not the Jude actually needed to plan, but he was worried about the outing with her and needed like six different plans. He was also worried that while he was with Liv he would be too worried about Brooklyn and Collin to even give Olivielle the attention she deserved. If Jude was going to be the least bit interesting, and appear like he was into Liv, he had do something.
Quickly he decided that this had to end this now. "Look," he started seriously, ready to tell Collin what he presumed Brooklyn was up to. "Look at this god-damned beautiful woman," was all that Jude could ridiculously vomit out as Brooklyn approached the table again. Flustered, he grinned through all of his self-hatred and looked up at Brooklyn. His green eyes watched in disbelief as Brooklyn gave Collin the royal treatment. Jude let his eye lids droop down and blink heavily as he listened to Brooklyn go on.
Jude wasn't exactly sure what he was doing but he instinctually, yet awkwardly, put his arm around Brooklyn's shoulders once she sat down. He spent a moment obnoxiously flipping Brooklyn's blonde hair with the hand wrapped around her before looking back at Collin and giving him a pathetic shrug. It wasn't that unusual for Jude to put his arm around Brooklyn or compliment her, seeing as she needed a little extra support these days, but he was sorely failing at being his normal casual self.
"We're talking about..." Jude took a split second to come up with anything other subject than the one that he and Collin had just been discussing. "Girls." Jude shook his head. Jesus Christ. Good going, champion. Jude was really trying to save face.
Thankfully, Brooklyn ignored him and went on. She remarkable that at least one of them was going to need to keep her company of this holiday evening. "Well, you know I'm always here for you." Jude stated almost over confidently and presumptuously. As if those eight words could convince her to sleep with him instead of Collin.
With complete defeat, Jude took a large sip of his liquor and hoped someone else would say something intelligible.

"Mannequins aren't made out of dead bodies, though," Cara answered, confusion evident in her expression and voice as she glanced towards Holly curiously. Only this child... she thought, before adding, "That would be scary."
"We could be back-up mannequins in case they ever run out of regular ones!"
"People wouldn't want to look at dead bodies when they're shopping. You wouldn't want to see that, would you?"
"They only wouldn't want to see it if they were ugly dead bodies. Like when Jesse dies, no one would want him to be a mannequin, but me, and you, and Weston... we would be fine!"
"What about your sister?"
"She's probably too short. And mannequins don't have tattoos."
"Isn't she a little bit taller than you?"
"Not in my opinion!" The television show had started a minute before, featuring a litter of puppies that lived on a farm, but now, they had introduced a baby goat that lived on the same farm, and it was too much for Holly to handle while maintaining the conversation that they were having. Her attention switched over to the show fully, as she rested her fork on the plate on her lap in order to clasp her hands together in excitement. "Oh my gosh, did you see that? It's a little baby goat, and it's so cute, and her name is Pipsqueak!"
"Aw, it is cute," Cara agreed, smiling, though she was barely paying attention to the television show. Coming off of that odd conversation, she had turned her focus back to her food (and also her drink...), and in a move that probably wasn't all that deserved, she silently commended herself for putting together such a great meal. Maybe she wasn't the one to actually create such nice dishes, but that wasn't the point. She had done more than anyone else here (and yes, she was including Collin in that), so she decided that she could give herself as much credit as she wanted to.
"Don't you wish you lived on a farm with baby goats?"
"Not really." Not at all was actually the more appropriate answer. Cara had lived in the city her entire life, and though she was used to spending a few months at a time in quieter areas, like the Hamptons, she didn't think that she would ever survive in a rural setting, nonetheless one that included dirty farm animals.
"Do you think we're allowed to have goats in this building? Because they're not technically pets, so it's not breaking that rule." Although Holly was talking to Cara, her eyes remained glued on the television screen, and the way that she laughed in between sentences made it apparent that her mind was more tuned in to the television show, than it was to their conversation.
"I don't think management would like that very much. Have you ever been to the zoo?"
"Yes! When I was in third grade we went on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo with my school, and when we were there I really wanted to see the butterflies but that wasn't part of what we were going there to see, so I left the group to go see the butterflies by myself anyway but only because the butterflies really wanted to see me, and then I got in trouble, and I wasn't allowed to go on another field trip unless my mom volunteered to be a chaperone because on the trip before that, we went to a museum, and I left the group during that one too, so my teachers were mad at me for doing it twice, but then my mom didn't want to come on any field trips because she was so busy, so I didn't get to go on any of the field trips ever again! But I did get to see the butterflies that one time, so I didn't even care."
It was a longer answer than Cara was really looking for, but again, this was Holly, so she was used to, and even expecting, something like that. The content of her response wasn't all that surprising either, and Cara could only imagine that if Holly seemed like a handful now, ten or so years ago when she was even more young, energetic, and naive, she had to be all the more difficult to look after. Something in her couldn't blame that school for not wanting to be liable for a kid who had a tendency to run off whenever they left campus. "Maybe one day next week we can go to the Central Park Zoo. I bet they have goats there that you can feed, or at least look at."
"Ooooooh! That would be so fun! And I bet they have giraffes there, and maybe we could bring Deja with us too, and they would probably try to steal you and Deja because they would think you were their sisters since you guys are too tall to be people!" Although a lot of the guys on their floor were even taller than Cara and Deja, it seemed normal for guys to be tall, so Holly wouldn't have considered them to fall into the realm of being giraffe-like. Cara and Deja just seemed exceptionally tall, and maybe, too, it was because she spent more time with them, and felt like since she liked them, they should be similar to her, which meant being short. Because they weren't, they seemed all the more extraordinary, certainly warranting the giraffe comparison.

In response to Liv, Deja mused on the idea "Mmm, you and tequila. What a perfect combination." Of course her words were full of playfulness, but with the alcohol begin to run through her Deja played out the scene in her mind. Deja clearly acknowledged that Liv was drop dead gorgeous, but she had never felt this odd pull toward her on a lustful level. There was something amiss with Deja tonight, and it seemed like the only way of fixing it was through fucking someone.
A crooked smile grew on Deja's face as Thomas made another charming sweep at her hair. An almost unvoiced chuckle escaped her lips as she turned back to face him. What was he to do with her? Well, Deja could at least tell you what she wanted him to do to her. Thomas' next question was a surprise for Deja. Never in her life had she experienced him so boldly. Deja knew Thomas to be a winner of the genetics lottery, but never possessing the gumption to use that to his advantage.
"Just so we're clear," she said right before coolly taking a shot, "I never throw myself at anyone." Deja filled her next shot and downed it quickly, giving Thomas a suspicious eye. "I'm always..." Deja inconspicuously dragged her leg up Thomas' under the table, "a lady." she cooed, leaning in close. Deja was hoping to get a rise out of him. Or maybe a surrender, that way she could win this cruel little game and he would give up on the whole pursuit.
This was getting far too intimate for only a party of three. Deja would either need to be alone with Thomas, or have at least have three other people in this apartment before doing something stupid. Clearing her throat, Deja continued like her actions were nothing.
"Most likely to fuck Jude tonight?" she gleefully squeaked with a flare of playfulness. She knew that Liv wasn't completely confident with the whole Jude thing, but Deja was crazy about the idea. Before Liv could reply Deja piped in again. "Oh, come on! What are you really going to do in a dark room? Honestly." Laughing at herself, the blonde took another bite of food and decided it was probably time to slow down on the liquor.

"Mmm, you and tequila. What a perfect combination." Deja said. Olivielle grinned at her companion.
“Say the word baby” Olivielle said with a sexy grin at her girlfriend.
"Just so we're clear, I never throw myself at anyone. I'm always...a Lady” Deja said to Thomas. Olivielle blushed and looked away from their interaction. They were definitely vibing on each other for sure. She felt bad for intruding on such an intimate moment. She watched the man
“Most likely to fuck Jude tonight”
Olivielle choked at Deja’s words and felt blood rush to her face. She stood and pressed a hand to her chest. Before she could try and deny it Deja was talking again.
“Oh, come on! What are you really going to do in a dark room? Honestly." Deja said
Olivielle laughed and shook her head. Honestly? She didn't expect anything to happen, but she did have a sudden flash of him pressing her back against the wall and kissing her. Whoa. Where had that come from? It had to be the alcohol for sure. She shook herself and sighed.
“Good lord, Deja! I don’t think…I mean…he doesn’t" She started, before she thought for a moment then shrugged. Why not? She thought letting the alcohol take a hold of her.
"…uh…well…that would be a nice way to end the night I suppose….” Olivielle said, her face still red, as she laughed. She took her shot and realized she was pushing her limit for drinking for the evening. She stood and picked up her plate taking it to the kitchen to empty it and wash it. She needed a break from the game because she was fuzzy as fuck.
Upon her return Olivielle grinned at the two.
“You two are so cute” Olivielle laughed as she wrapped an arm around her female friend’s shoulders.
“We should dance….let’s dance.” She said with a laugh as she straightened and wiggled.
"Let me seduce you with my white girl wasted moves" Olivielle laughed to her friend.
Oh, Deja was definitely responding to his advances. Thomas smiled slightly as he felt her leg up against his and reached down to slide his hand up it with a laugh.
"Duly noted. Why don't we..." he began only to be interrupted by Liv. He couldn't help but laugh again. He had seen Olivielle dance before. It wasn't a pretty sight, he was sorry to say. He shook his head, "Liv, there's not any music playing. I don't dancing is a good idea. Go drunk, you're home."
He said the last part with an ironic grin, not sure if she could understand the joke or not. He looked down at his half-finished food. Suddenly, eating was the last thing on his mind. He gazed at Deja. She was as beautiful as ever and he could not quite recall why he wouldn't want to take her to bed. Something about her being gone by sunrise, he remembered idly. He smirked at her and let his hand trail along her hip.
"I think I'll head back to bed early. I'm suddenly feeling tired."

“Well boo.” Liv pouted.
Olivielle, despite her alcohol daze, could take a hint. Thomas wanted Deja to himself, and she was not going to stand in his way. She hesitated for a moment as she grinned back and forth between the two.
“Actually, YOU need to help her clean up, I will take my l e a v e, be good….or don’t.” Olivielle said as she started towards the door. As if a second thought just occurred to her she turned, somewhat clumsily, and stole the bottle of tequila.
“Tequila makes my clothes fall off…and if I am going to be alone, I need all the help I can get to get myself into bed.” She said teasingly as she walked back to the door.
“Uh…if things get out of hand you have my number…I am an excellent pinch hitter.” Olivielle said with a grin as she opened the door and glanced back at the two.
“Don’t let her beat you up too bad roomie” Olivielle called to Thomas in a sing song voice as she closed the door.
Olivielle made her way to her own apartment, giggling to herself as she struggled to unlocked the door.
‘Oh dear she drank more than intended…then again who cares?...ugh…Why weren’t her keys working? Oh…it would help if she was using the house key and not the mail key.' She thought to herself as she laughed at her own clumsy hands.
